I switched from a physical exfoliant (scrub) to this chemical exfoliant (benzoyl peroxide). This product is much more gentle on the skin and still leaves my skin feeling soft right away. Over time, I have noticed much less breakouts/acne with this product! No more harsh scrub tearing up my skin, so it looks even more hydrated and glowy! I have combination skin, I get oily in my T-zone and have small patches of eczema around my eyes and mouth. I've used the classic CeraVe foaming cleanser/moisturizer/retinol serum/night cream for years. I did a course of strong meds a year and a half ago and it cleared my skin completely. After full-time mask wearing started up again, my acne came back a bit so I decided to try this cleanser after having such good experiences with all their other products. It cleared my skin after only a few days! But be careful – I developed a painful itchy rash around my lips and mouth that took steroids to clear up because of how much this cleanser irritated that area of my face. I've now cut down use from every morning and night to just once every other morning and I avoid my eyes and mouth with it. It works wonders, but it's very irritating on sensitive areas so wash with caution!Sarah

Great product! Benzoyl peroxide is perfect for hormonal/cystic acne — the red, inflamed, under the surface kind. I had been using salicylic acid for a while and didn’t understand why my acne was not clearing. Until my dermatologist informed me that SA is better for whitehead & blackhead type of acne (which I did not have). 4% benzoyl peroxide is a great amount if you’re just introducing benzoyl peroxide to the skin. I used at night for a week and have now transitioned to using it day and night since my skin tolerated it well. My breakouts have completely stopped and lingering breakouts have cleared dramatically! In high school and college, I had little to no acne, but I did encounter staph at some point during time in athletics– which if you don't know, is hard to get rid of and is a serious issue. The worst part was the bacteria was on my face, so when I'd get a pimple from time to time, they would quickly develop into an abscess. It was devastating because 1) They were hideous and hard to hide on my face, 2) It seemed like I had no hygiene routine, but I was actually rigorous and careful about anything that came into contact with my face, 3) It was dangerous because some of the abscesses were very close to my eyes, and 4) Antibiotics did nothing to kill the staph so it seemed like it was gone, but came back again. So I have PCOS which causes me to have hormonal acne at the wonderful age of 34. I thought I would be done with it after my teenage years but that is not the case. I was super happy to receive this voxbox and hopefully rid myself of this acne once again, Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Over all it did work when used daily. I had less active breakouts. I really liked the exfoliating scrub it left my skin feeling fresh and clean. I did use a better moisturizer on tip of the 2 that are provided with the kit because they were more drying with the active ingredients being benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. I did take away 1 star and probably should have take away another because as soon as I stopped using it after 2 weeks the acne came right back, I didn't expect it to 100% cure my issue because it is more hormonal than anything, but I did hope to see an improvement in the amount or severity of the breakouts, but that wasn't the case. I did stop using it after 2 weeks for 1 week so I could test it and see how it would function for someone who would be thinking my skin has cleared up I am good to go. Finally found the perfect cleanser for my face and skin type. I've already noticed a huge difference in overall oil reduction, texture, and clogged pores, so I'm pleased. I have combo oily/dry skin on my face, so some areas over produce oil and some areas are drier than a desert. But a couple of things I noticed about this cleanser is it works really well to unclog the oily areas and keep them moisturized a bit. After about 4 days, I did notice the salicylic acid starting to work and my face was flaking off, but that's what it's supposed to do. So I added some Jergens Ultra Healing lotion to my routine and WOW it's effective. The dry parts of my face are moist, the oily parts are moist but not oily. Would recommend.Luftherz

I received the CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser for reviewing purposes. I have combination skin nose and chin very oily, forehead is super dry rest of face is normal. I also get hormonal acne. With all that said I find this product actually whole line really great. I have only been using for about 3 weeks so I am just over the purging stage but I am seeing my pores getting smaller also not having as much redness. I've battled with hormonal and cystic acne for a long time and it's been especially bad the last 2 years. I bought this moisturizer on Amazon after previously using a $23 one that I finally used up. I wasn’t really expecting much as I think it only had 24 reviews but the majority were positive and for $10.99 I decided to try it out. Firstly, it’s lightweight but hydrates my skin and this is important for me because heavy moisturizers just irritate my skin that is already acne prone and can lead to me breaking out. Secondly, it has quality ingredients that are understandable and what I’ve been specifically looking for in a moisturizer, my last moisturizer had salicylic acid but didn’t offer many other beneficial ingredients that weren’t too harsh for the skin like this one. I have been using this with the toner now and my dark spots are fading from a recent whitehead breakout I had which turned into a huge pimple and left a really dark mark behind, I I feel like the two combined are really benefiting my skin. Lastly, this moisturizer is just everything my skin needs, it isn’t going to be for everyone and that’s a given with any product so remain open minded, but if you have normal skin (slightly oily around my t-zone and normal everywhere else) this could work for you and hopefully it does!KJTW

Listen, I have struggled with acne since I was 12 years old. I have tried so many products on my face throughout the years. This is a lightweight moisturizer that never makes my combination/oily skin feel greasy. Nor does it make it feel tight or dry. My skin is ultra sensitive to products and I never have any stinging or tingling. I have noticed fewer breakouts and when I do inevitably have a pimple, I stick a peach slices acne patch on and typically it's gone within 2 to 3 days. I have gotten multiple comments on my skin from different people since I started using this moisturizer; including that my skin looks hydrated and glowy and beautiful. Which is some thing that was never said about my skin. The tiniest bit of product goes a long way too and I straight up just use this durning the day every day instead of CeraVe's moisturizing lotion… and wishing a couple of weeks my skin has looked wonderful. I'm not saying that this is going to be a cure for your acne, everyone is different.. but it certainly helped mine and I would recommend it to my closest friends.Becca

I bought this moisturizer to help with my oiliness when I go out. I try to buy lightweight moisturizers so it doesn’t leave a build up on my face and cause excess oil or breakouts. I bought this due to some reviews saying it helped on there oily skin a when I first tried it, I was amazed. Fast forward about the 4th time using it, going outside of the house. I decided to go out to grab a bite to eat an put this on about an hour before I was to go out. My face started to get oily again on my forehead and nose. I know the directions say you can replace up to 3 times a day so no biggie just added a little more and oiliness was gone. Bam!! My skin did not become overly oily and it held for about a hour again, got home washed my face. Had it on less than 3 hours, touched up twice. But after a few days of using it here and there, I started breaking out more. I thought it was just random so I stopped using it just in case and my acne started going away, no new breakouts. I waited about a week or so an tried again. It was fine for a few days but constantly having to reapply or clean my face throughly to start again to avoid the excess oil an it bought my breakouts back days after. I mainly breakout on my cheeks and my neck. I’ve been using this for about 5 weeks just to give a reference on time. I do have to say I have mixed reviews on this. Pros 1) it does take away the oil effortlessly.. 2) it doesn’t smell bad 3) it’s small an convenient to take anywhere for a touch up. 4) it goes nicely under makeup ( I tried once) 5) it’s creamy an smooth. 6) price is good Cons 1) you have to reapply numerously 2) some might not like the chemical smell 3) due to reapplying, you might run out the product quicker 4) potential breakouts ( I have but some might some may not.) 5) Not sure how it would hold up in higher temperatures outdoors/indoors. I bought this specifically for the term “mattifying”. I have oily skin on my forehead and I wanted a moisturizer that would seal that oil away during the day. Well, this is not that mattifying moisturizer I was looking for. After 4 hours of just sitting in my apartment, my forehead is oily as heck. So this didn’t achieve the one purpose I needed it for. On the other hand, Covergirl’s Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturizer actually keeps your face matte for a majority of the day. I would suggest that one if this Cetaphil moisturizer didn’t work for you.Becs

So this product definitely works. If you have a pimple or zit coming in, it will definitely kill it within a day or so. However, it will excessively dry out your skin to the point where your skin will peel for days after using. I've been saving this to only use in super urgent situations where a pimple will just not go away, but the peeling afterwards is very annoying and sometimes painful. I have combination oily skin and this completely dried out the sides of my mouth (where I usually break out and apply this) to the point where my skin is constantly peeling and flaking. The only thing that has helped is slugging before bed with the Cerave Healing Ointment. It works, but I'm not sure if for my skin personally the peeling after is worth it.Donna

I'm 30 years old and recently my acne started to flare up like I was 13 years old again. I've tried SO many different products, sulfur treatments, topical prescriptions, so many different name brand drug store and high end products. I was wasting my money- until I found this!! I got this product due to the gel application, as I already had products from Mario Badescu that work well- but they're runny. This product doesn't seem to be as strong or effective as the Mario Badescu Buffering or Drying Lotions, but this product is ALSO both cheaper and easier to keep right where you want it due to the gel formula. If you have more severe acne, or if your blemishes tend to be bigger/deeper (such as cystic acne), I'd recommend going right to Mario Badescu's Buffering product… If your acne is not severe and/or is more superficial (just small little spots here and there on occasion), then this may very well be a great product for you. I'm hanging onto this as it definitely has its place, but the Mario Badescu Buffering lotion in a little dropper is still going to be my "go to" product for the occasional deep, painful blemish…Bianca

I've been struggling with acne and acne scars for YEARS! And the best decision I've ever made for my skin was trusting Paula's Choice products. I just wish I had known about this brand years ago when my skin first broke. Before switching to this brand, I used to experiment with a lot of products and none of them helped my skin, and the ones that did only fixed the problem temporarily, and after a while, my skin would go back to day 1 and sometimes worse than before. I rarely review. I mean I RARELY review products. But I have been struggling with hormonal acne since I gave birth almost 6 years ago. I have pretty much tried everything besides accutane. I had recently purchase the retinol cream from Paula's Choice on Sephora and appreciated how it worked on my skin. I started browsing through Paula's Choice website and found this kit. At first I thought, "this will be another Proactiv" which did not work for me and the concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide was 10% and way too strong for my skin. But after reading reviews on this kit, I decided to give it a try. Within 2 days, my skin had improved significantly. I was getting cystic acne and small headless bumps on my cheeks, jawline and chin. Those had completely disappeared after 1 week of consistently using the kit twice a day. I wish I had taken before pictures but honestly, I just figured this would be another failure. I'm am so impressed and so happy and relieved with my skin. It's been almost a month straight and I have only had 2 very small, non-cystic zits pop up which I'm ICU RN, and they more than likely were from wearing my N95 mask at work. My only warning about this product is it can be very drying and sting the skin right after application. I'm usually a combination to oily skin type and now I'm definitely dry. My solution was to purchase face oil which helped immensely. I apply my products in this order and it's worked for me to keep some hydration on my face: step 1, step 2, retinol, , eye cream, moisturizer, step 3 and top with facial oil. When I was 24, I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer. Due to this, I had a hysterectomy and all has been good for almost 20 years. I tell you this because, as you can imagine, hormones are tricky to replicate and it has been a struggle to get them right with therapy. About 4 years ago, I began getting severe cystic acne. This product has been working quite well for me so far (going on month three). BUT buy the TUBE not the pump(product in this listing). You're able to more precisely control the amount you use with the pump, sure, but it's more cost effective to buy the tube and it's really hard to tell if you're running low on the product with the pump. This product is on the pricey side for the drugstore so where you can save money you should! As a side note I decided to move over to the CVS dupe for this product because it is much less expensive than the name brand, I've heard tell that it's just as good but I've yet to actually test it. My acne is slowly clearly up and I haven't had any major break outs since I started using it. Be aware that results from Differin apparently take months to appear and you need to use it consistently, all over the face, even when you're break out free, for it to be effective! Don't expect a miracle cure that works in a week when buying it. It is very irritating, I have somewhat dry skin and while my acne is definitely slowly clearing up with that came more frequent instances of sudden dryness and flakiness. The worst is when you first start using it(though this "peeling" stage is apparently something to be expected for pretty everyone starting out on this product). If you have "tougher" skin than mine I imagine you'll have less issue with the irritation.Samantha M

Currently in my 1 month journey to Differin. It starts with hormonal acne breakout around my jawline and I once forget what it feels like to have cyst acne, but it comes back stronger than ever😂 (as you can see at the 2nd pic). so I start with using Differin twice a week for a first few weeks, then proceed to every other day, then now I use it every day, along with moisturizer underneath, and benzoyl peroxide cream in the morning. (I follow Dr Dray recommendation about Differin. Just check her youtube and you'll be fine). I gotta say I'm impressed with the result (look at the 3rd pic). back then I always have 3-4 cyst acne that really painful, together with pimples, but now it just pimples. I also have a slight milia under my eyes (one that doesn't appear much but you can feel it when you touch it) and now it disappearring slowly. My skin texture also getting better. I am 37 years old and have cystic acne with mid-cycle hormonal flares, so I approached this product with realistic expectations. I don't think it is designed for cystic acne, but I decided to try it anyhow because I tried rather expensive patches designed specifically for cystic acne that did not work. I have used three dots each on two different cystic acne lesions at two different stages. When I used dots in the earliest apparent stage, I noticed the lesion did not swell to the point I expected it to though the duration of it was unchanged. When I used dots on a later stage (like when you could be tempted to try to express some pus out but you know better because it's a cystic lesion), the dot performed like I expect it would on regular acne that forms a head (i.e. it "pulls" the pus out and leaves the lesion much flatter and less angry). So far I would say this product is worth using. It is not a miracle, but it doesn't hurt, and may help more than the usual benzoyl peroxide and hydrocortisone cream combination I apply. Plus, I don't run the risk of bleached spots on towels, pillow cases, etc. like I do with benzoyl peroxide.IllimitaEarth

I stopped buying acne patches like these because they never seemed to work for me or it took too long to see results. So it felt like a waste of money. But I heard a friend keep raving about these, saying her pimples would vanish overnight when she used these. I honestly didn’t believe her, so I was curious to try and see for myself. They’re a good size; I applied the first one to a big, angry, red pimple I had just popped with pus coming out. Although they’re not transparent (they have a yellow tint to them), I wore it during the day to keep myself from picking at the spot further. Not really expecting much, I went about my day and forgot it was even on until I looked at the mirror later that night. To my surprise, there was a huge glob of gunk on the patch once I took it off. It was gross, but oddly satisfying to see. The pimple I had applied it to had significantly decreased in size, almost flattened. So I slapped another one on that night to see what would happen in the morning. I woke up the next day to take it off and like last night there was some gunk. Not as much as the first time, but there was some. This time the pimple was pretty much gone, completely flat. There was a little redness left behind, but I have to say these are by far the most effective acne patches I have come across. No patch I’ve ever tried has delivered results THIS quickly. These dots stick well and are comfortable to wear. I did my full routine, put it on, and wore it for about six and a half hours. It didn’t itch, and I slept soundly. In fact, I forgot I had it on until I got up to wash my face. Pulling it off didn’t stress my skin. I was glad I went ahead with my hydrating routine before applying it, because I found the patch a little drying to the area around the pimple and left it feeling a bit tender. I had trouble getting a good shot, but the dot also pulled the gunk out of my pores. I was happy to see the gunk was actually moisturizer and that my pores were nice and clean. It also drew most of the liquid from the pimple and left the whole area flat. It did leave the a bit…open, so I made sure to put cica and some additional aloe in the rotation. So I NEVER ever write reviews, but I couldn't not for this product – it is INCREDIBLE. I have suffered with bad skin sporadically for about 9 years and I have tried countless cleansers and treatments to stop flare ups but nothing worked – to the point where most days there would be new zits, pimples and scarring. I have been using this cleanser for about 2 weeks and I am so so shocked at how clear my skin is, I genuinely cannot believe it. I have however read that it drys skin out quite badly, so as I suffer from dry skin around my nose area, I have been using it only once daily with an intensely nourishing moisturiser. This stuff is great! I've been using it for years as recommended by my Dermatologist. Very gentle and effective to not lead to additional breakouts on my sensitive skin. I feel like so many of the bad reviews are people not understanding how products work or how this product works. This product will not work for you if you are mostly dry. And will backfire on you, causing other skin issues and leading you to think it's not working, when really you are using the wrong product for your skin type. This product is pretty gentle. So for those saying they didn't feel "clean" afterwards, it's because you're most likely use to bad products stripping the natural good oils from your face. Your skin should never feel tight after using a facial product; tight skin does not equal clean. Also please consult a dermatologist before choosing products that are right for you.Human bean

In LOVE!! My friend is the one who told me about Mario Badescu products, and I’m forever grateful! Keep in mind that the Acne Face Cleaner can and will dry your skin out if you use it too much. I personally use it every other day to every three days. On my days that I don’t use the Acne Face Wash; I use the Glycolic Foaming wash! Absolutely love that one! Makes my skin feel absolutely amazing and clean, I usually use the Enzyme Cleaning Gel that they have right afterwards and it makes my skin tight and AMAZING! Also before bed when I notice I have acne appearing I put a DOT of Drying Lotion on my affected area. MY FAVORITE PRODUCT is the DRYING LOTION… it’s not a lotion don’t let the word confuse you, and make sure NOT TO SHAKE the bottle! Keep the pink sediment on the bottom!! Use a Q-tip or- what I use… chopsticks😂 I cut chopsticks into three’s. I noticed when I use a Q-tip it absorbs too much of the product, and it’s harder to save the rest if you get to much sediment on it. This truly is my skin’s saving grace. For about three years I struggled with the most painful under the skin pimples that would leave dark spots and terrible hormonal acne on my chin. For a while I was using Murad (which is not cheap) and it just wasn’t cutting it. I decided to try this out and now I get compliments on my clear glowy skin constantly. When you start using this, start VERY small. Use only a tiny bit on your spots, do not put it all over your skin for the first time as it takes your skin time to get used to it. When i first started using it I thought it wasn’t for me because it made my skin very itchy. however, after a few more uses this went away and now I am able to put it all over my face. This acne treatment is AMAZING!!!!!! It says it helps to clear acne within 3 days– that is no lie!! My skin had been breaking out for sometime due to face masks🙄 😷 It was bad!! But this helped to clear my face without intense, extreme dryness. It ALSO helped my 18 yo son's face immensely!!! He has moderate/severe acne. Its starting to leave marks and scars. However– we both used the product we got in the VoxBox and WOW… Thanks to La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo…his face is pretty much clear now with only some blackheads ee need to address. Mine is as well. This is amazing to me, because theres only 5.5% Benzoyl Peroxide in the formula. When I use BP, I usually need the whole 10% and THEN i end up doing some heavy duty moisturizing afterwards because parts of my face start to dry and even crack open and bleed slightly. Not the case with Effaclar Duo!!!! Somehow, they've tweaked the formula so it clears your skin without tons of BP and without tons of dryness. It is amazing!!!👏 I've never had a formula that will do so much clearing on my skin my son's skin with so little Benzoyl Peroxide. I am elated to have found this and thankful to Influenster for the opportunity to review this product….because both my son I used the product received in the VoxBox and it cleared up both our faces. Thank you to La Roche-Posay for sending me Effaclar Duo to test out via Influenster in exchange for my honest review. This product is a benzoyl peroxide based acne spot treatment. I have heard amazing things about this for years so I was hyped to try it out. Unfortunately, my skin had a bad reaction to it. 😥 My face is relatively sensitive but I have only ever had an allergic reaction to one other product before so this was quite a surprise. Within three minutes of applying this spot treatment, my face was super flushed and burned like crazy. I washed it about three times to reduce the burn which helped but it continued for the next 15 or 20 minutes (see photos). As the days went on, I started to develop tons of bumps and texture around my chin (see close up photo). It finally started to heal after about a week but my skin in that area was severely dehydrated. I have since scaled back my skincare routine to just the basics which seems to have helped. I posted about this on my IG story and the brand asked me to call them so they could notate my experience, which I think is worth mentioning. They also said they wanted to compensate me for the price of the product even though it was gifted to me. I've never heard of a brand doing this so I appreciate their professionalism and care. 🔺️ If you take away anything from my experience let it be this: patch test before trying out any new skincare! 🤦‍♀️shannon.j

As someone who has always struggled with acne, and as someone who has tried the Differin gel before, I must say that while I'm starting REALLY SLOW, I'm just totally blown away by how much my skin has improved since trying La Roche Posay's adapalene. I get that it's the same as Differin gel, but something about this one is much gentler on my skin. This month (March), I started just once a week, next month (April) will be twice a week, next month (May) will be every other day, then finally, in June, I should be pretty much well-adapted to wearing this every night. By just finishing this month alone, which means I only tried it 4 times so far, my cystic acne has vanished and new ones haven't been coming up, and even the occasional pimple is gone pretty fast, all I have now are acne scars. Obviously, adapalene takes time to work on those, but considering how much progress I'm seeing already, I'm even more excited to see how this will be after long-term use. Other great things about LRP's Adapelene Gel: it's $10 cheaper than getting the same size in the Differin brand, you don't necessarily get more product, but that it's cheaper makes a huge difference considering how expensive it is either way. Pricey but SO WORTH IT. I also pair this with LRP's Effaclar Duo spot treatment on any active bumps and my goodness, they both work like magic, and I'm just shocked at how there's hardly any irritation, but it also helps that I moisturize FIRST and then use this last. I love the simple and yet sophisticated packaging and the overall quality of LRP in general, period, I hardly remember the last time my skin has looked this calm, clear, and healthy, and I only have LRP to thank! I use this once a week, I'm on week 3 and this has not broken me out at all! I'm surprised and excited since I am 19, have oily, semi-sensitive, dehydrated skin. My skin is especially dehydrated due to the cold weather in Buffalo, NY and because my skin barrier is also damaged but I've been working to fix that before I started using this product. This treatment has sensitized my skin a little bit but that was expected with the condition of my skin barrier. My face only peels a little bit every two days. Overall, I love this treatment :)! Other products I use for reference: -Paula's Choice "RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser". Perfect for my greasy face. I swear I used to scrape sweat off my face. (I use everyday and doesn't clog pores or over strip my skin) -Paula's Choice "RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator". Basically a vitamin c + niacinamide moisturizer. (Use in morning, alternate on days I don't use CeraVe moisturizer and doesn't clog my pores) -CeraVe "Unscented Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Normal to Dry Skin". AMAZING. One of only moisturizers that doesn't clog my pores. (Use in morning on alternate days and at night everyday) -Paula's Choice "RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50". This pills/balls up on my face idk why. I'm Hispanic fairskinned yellowish skin tone and it does not rub in fully sometimes also and makes me look a little bit lighter so I guess there's a slight white cast but this doesn't clog my pores at all so that's still a good thing. i started using this back in october for my acne. i had struggled for so long trying to clear my acne up and nothing would work. i started using this product every night in conjunction with their toleriane face wash, a hyaluronic acid serum and the cicaplast cream. by december, i went from constant horrible breakouts all over my entire face to having not a single blemish on my skin. the amount of product for the price is great. i've had the same tube since october. it's almost march and i still have 2/3 of the tube left even after daily use. if you're struggling with acne, i highly recommend trying this product. i genuinely can't believe how clear my skin has gotten with it because i struggled with grade 3 acne for a few years and this cleared it upmable

I have never had acne up until this past year. I spoke with the skin specialist at Ulta & she recommended this to pair with the Murad I was using. This kit has been a game changer for me! I have sensitive skin, so I hate trying new products… I've used it for over a month now & there is a noticable difference. I have paired it with Murad facewash at night and use the Sunday Riley facewash in mornings. Not going to lie my face was severely broken out, so it's not completely gone. My routine prior to purchasing this SR product works for me, but this time, I needed a little bit more help. I ran across this set as I was Christmas shopping and I have to say… it was definitely one of the best shopping decisions that I've made. I just started using this product a few days before Christmas and I already the results are fantastic!! Within 24 hours the affected area was purging and the my face felt a lot better. it has not been a week, but my face has cleared up and the texture is nice and smooth. I have been using this product for almost a month and I can start to see improvements in my breakouts. I usually use it once a day because it can irritate your skin. I use it more like a spot treatment and only put it on the places that I have breakouts. I let it sit and then rub it all over my face before rinsing. I have been using this wash for both my face and body for a little over a year now. I don’t generally have breakouts, but when I do I end up with blemishes everywhere from my face to my chest and back. You definitely have to be aware of how it will react with your skin, because my face is slightly more on the sensitive side and I’ve noticed if I leave it on for a few minutes too long it will start to burn and leave my face red for some time afterwards. So bottom line, if you use as directed and use it how it feels right on your skin it will become your best friend! I have a hard time finding cleansers because I don’t feel that they usually work as well as I want them to, but this one definitely does!kenna.m

This was a very basic,nice moistrizer. Not enough moisture for me at night,or even during the day,really,but excellent under something heavier to help with my redness and also has a beautiful cooling sensation. Very light,easily-sinks-in gel cream texture and the aloe is great for inflammation. While I don’t suffer from acne,I definitely do get the occasional hormonal pimple and I’m redness prone. Being very fair, this is more evident on me. This will be a great cream for the Summer months(layered over/with an SPF,always,during the day!). I can see this working wonders for oily,ir acne-prone skin. The scent-free formula also helps with aggravating skin. It’s a good moisturizer. Creamy white with a light aloe scent. The texture is nice, like a gel cream. It absorbs well into the skin. It gives a nice cooling sensation when placed on the skin. It dries matte. Would probably be best suited for someone with oily skin. It may not be moisturizing enough for someone with extremely dry skin. I would say that its not ideal for cold winter weather as it’s very light. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, I would advise against using this. Otherwise, I would purchase it again and recommend giving it a try. It’s an affordable price as well, I paid about $6 on Amazon.gee.c

I used Clean and Clear aloe vera calming gel moisturizer, for 2 weeks straight, and not only did I absolutely love the texture, but it moisturized my skin and kept it moisturized, all through the day; without leaving any kind of greasy residue on my skin. I was not familiar with gel cream texture, but I must say, a little goes a very long way, and it saturates into the skin so quickly. The scent was very light and pleasant. It does not linger. It was also very soothing and Cooling as soon as I put it on my skin. I love using this not only every night and during the day; but after exfoliating & just anytime my skin felt irritated, or needed an extra boost of hydration. I will definitely be adding this to my everyday skin care regimen. I am very impressed, and I was definitely recommend to anyone with dry, oily, combo or sensitive skin. I don’t know how they do it but I am so in love with this cleanser! Most acne washes have dried my face out and actually caused more harm to my skin because of how sensitive my skin is. However, this wash is such a miracle cleanser for me! I have PCOS and get hormonal acne and while I have been watching my diet, this cleanser has been the perfect addition to help cleanse and clear my face! I love the texture of the wash, it feels super silky and a little goes such a long way as it lathers super well. I tried this cleanser out for 4 months, and it destroyed my skin barrier. I don't have bad acne, just a couple spots on my face, and the reviews said it wasn't drying, so I thought I would give it a shot. However, it was the worst decision, and I regret buying this! It actually gave me more acne in places I never used to have it before, probably due to overproduction of oil to combat the dryness of my skin. Please only use this if you need acne control. i have always always ALWAYS had acne to some degree. I had it as a teen and I get it as an adult during my cycle. When I started using the Gentle Acne Cleanser, my skin cleared straight up, and it remained that way until I ran out and had to use a fill- in from a local natural store. After I hit 40, my skin really changed. It was very oily and I had pimples all the time on my chin and jawline. My complexion was red and ruddy. I tried a lot of different products. Nothing really worked until I started using this set. I only use it once a day before bed. I also use an oil free gel in the morning. The oil has decreased drastically and the redness is gone too. In high school and college, I had little to no acne, but I did encounter staph at some point during time in athletics– which if you don't know, is hard to get rid of and is a serious issue. The worst part was the bacteria was on my face, so when I'd get a pimple from time to time, they would quickly develop into an abscess. It was devastating because 1) They were hideous and hard to hide on my face, 2) It seemed like I had no hygiene routine, but I was actually rigorous and careful about anything that came into contact with my face, 3) It was dangerous because some of the abscesses were very close to my eyes, and 4) Antibiotics did nothing to kill the staph so it seemed like it was gone, but came back again. My mother ordered me the Proactiv regimen after a sob-fest one evening (#teenagerhormones). The kit lasted a long time (a month or so?) and I never saw an abscess again. My face was clear and I was no longer embarrassed by hideous abscesses, Band-Aids, and poor attempts to cover it with makeup. My favorite part was the witch hazel toner– it felt nice, smelled fresh, and made my face bright/clear. So I have PCOS which causes me to have hormonal acne at the wonderful age of 34. I thought I would be done with it after my teenage years but that is not the case. I was super happy to receive this voxbox and hopefully rid myself of this acne once again, Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Over all it did work when used daily. I had less active breakouts. I really liked the exfoliating scrub it left my skin feeling fresh and clean. I did use a better moisturizer on tip of the 2 that are provided with the kit because they were more drying with the active ingredients being benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. I did take away 1 star and probably should have take away another because as soon as I stopped using it after 2 weeks the acne came right back, I didn't expect it to 100% cure my issue because it is more hormonal than anything, but I did hope to see an improvement in the amount or severity of the breakouts, but that wasn't the case. I did stop using it after 2 weeks for 1 week so I could test it and see how it would function for someone who would be thinking my skin has cleared up I am good to go. This is the first time I've ever had a HOLY GRAIL skin product. I was originally using Paula's choice bha exfoliant and wasn't really seeing any results. But with this one, WOAH! It doesn't go on oily like Paula's choice, and it also have glycolic acid and lactic acid for extra exfoliating power. BE CAREFUL! When I first started using this I was so happy with my results I was using it every day and it caused my skin to become over exfoliated, super shiny, and destroyed my skin barrier. I took a month break and now I only use it twice a week, with at least three days in between each use. My skin haven't looked this great in over a year. Even though I no longer use the Paula's choice liquid exfoliant I still use the PC oil reducing cleanser which pairs great with this. My texture is slowly smoothing out, the redness is just about gone, and I feel like I see some scars fading.Dime

Nice light formula. I was looking for an alternative to Paula’s Choice 2% BHA for pore maintenance and I think I found it. This toner seems to do the job and has a clean finish. It doesn’t leave the oily residue which I didn’t like with the Paula’s Choice. Perfect for the daytime routine as it gives me a clean slate for the rest of my regiment and doesn’t interfere with makeup. Too soon to tell if it is as effective but so far hasn’t caused any irritation or new breakouts. So far so good and at a fraction of the price!Ena C.

I am so happy with this toner. I have now been using it for two days and in only those two days I have seen a difference and the only new products added to my skincare routine have been this toner and the moisturizer that is also available. I use a cleanser by another brand that contains salicylic acid but since using the toner and moisturizer I have seen the biggest improvements. My dark spots are fading each day, this has become an insecurity of mine as a recent whitehead breakout turned pimples left a dark mark on the side of my chin and ever since using the toner, the mark has lessened in colour significantly. I’ve been using it the 3 times daily and haven’t experienced any dryness, I use the moisturizer right after and that sinks in so quickly but hydrates my skin as much as it needs. Greasy and thick moisturizers just irritate my acne prone skin and usually lead to a breakout or redness. This toner won’t work for everyone but for $10.99 I think it’s worth trying out, start of slowly and remember to moisturize and wear sunscreen afterwardsKJTW

This does dry out your pimples, but it dries out ALOT! I’m not a fan of the sulfur smell or the fact that it’s tinted. If worn under makeup, it made the spot look caked up. This is probably the best over-the-counter acne medication for hormonal acne that I’ve ever used. Sulfur-based treatments are often recommended for cystic or hormonal acne, and I’ve have tried many different sulfur acne products, including prescription versions. This one is affordable and works. I put it on at night when I’m most likely to start getting some chin break outs, and it prevents them from ever happening. It layers well over my other night creams and isn’t overly drying. It also improves the texture of my skin. All that is what sets it apart from Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, (and products like that), which I sometimes use if I do get breakouts—it prevents, not just treats, acne.jo.c

I am absolutely heart broken that this product didn't work for me, especially as it has so many positive reviews and I have enjoyed other Kinship products. I was suffering with acne around my chin and jawline so I started using this product where needed both in the morning and evening. Rather than improving my acne it has slowly got worse and worse, and I now suffer with large painful pimples that are much more spread out. I have continued use thinking that maybe my skin needed time to adjust and get used to the salicylic acid content, but after 2 months I think it's time to call it quits! Of course there may be other factors involved that have caused my skin to get worse, but I can say for sure that this product has not helped my acne. 🙁SaraA

I have a lot to cover so buckle up. First impression: happy with my purchase, silky consistency, smells fine(once in a while you get a whiff of the medicine but it's not bad, I don't even notice it anymore), little kinda goes a long way. I have pretty bad stubborn hormonal acne and this product helped. Right now and over the course of two weeks(how long I've been using the product) I think my face is purging as well as just plain breaking out. I have a separate acne medication and used this as it is, a spot treatment, but that pretty much went on every area of my face; I had my most severe breakouts in between my eyebrows and cheeks, and in painful pustule/whitehead clusters that last for a week at least. I woke up with several new whiteheads every morning in these hot spots and for awhile there I was afraid this product was making it worse, or just not doing anything, and then one day my eyebrows were clear. No red inflamed bumps or new whiteheads; just hyperpigmentation; which over the next few days, this product helped reduce. It didn't completely get rid of it, you can still see it, but it made it less noticeable. So my verdict is the SA helped purge and clean out my skin and once it was done it finally cleared. Just the other day my cheeks cleared as well. So, It works, but you have to be patient, and I don't think its a miracle potion, you have to keep up with all the other parts of your routine and I also used pimple patches religiously. But I think It's worth your money. FYI, I have oily skin but occasional ezcema and this product didn't irritate it or cause it to flare up.Rachel K.
