20 Best Products For Thin Wavy Hair (Feb 2023 Update)

My hair is thin and wavy, with low porosity. I rarely wear it in its natural state, opting to dry with a round blow-dryer brush and flat iron. SCENT: This reminds me of the Melrose Place scent, and is noticeable upon spritzing, but fades rather quickly. TEXTURE: A little goes a long way. The right amount gives my hair volume; too much gave it a crispy texture. Overall: I tried this four different ways, With varying degrees of success. First, using my everyday product routine, using Kérastase Nutritive Nectar, Color WOW Dream Coat and Olaplex #6 on the ends of my hair. I misted the OUAI all over, then sectioned and twisted my hair, pinning each section at the bottom and air drying. The result was a somewhat frizzy mess. Second, I used it as a substitute for dry shampoo (which I do not use) to see if it would ‘wake up’ and refresh day-old washed hair. Unfortunately this made my hair look greasy, so that was a quick no-go. Third, I used a curl defining cream (MoroccanOil Curl Cream) and sprayed the Ouai, repeating the styling steps above, and gently blow drying after allowing my hair to air dry for about a half hour. This combination gave my hair very soft, natural-looking waves that I pulled up into a ponytail. This look lasted all day, through being out in the sun, heat, and misters. It was a style I have attempted before, but by the end of the day it is usually flat. This was encouraging! On my fourth and final attempt, I used the curl cream, repeated the original styling steps, and used a diffuser to blow dry my hair. This resulted in slightly defined waves that felt a little crispy, with an overall voluminous effect. Final Thoughts: This is not a product that I would use often, only due to the texture/thickness of my hair. Although it does provide some added volume, finding the right balance between full and crunchy is tricky. For someone who washes their hair 2-3x a week, this can be a tricky product to use. I have 2B hair, and a lot of it, but my hair texture is very fine, unlike many people with strong natural wave patterns. Curl creams tend to weigh down my hair, making it flat and greasy. Salt sprays are of course drying and damaging in the long term. But Ouai Wave Spray is the perfect product! It has the nourishment and definition which other people can get from the shea butter heavy creams, all in such an easy and light manner! I simply rake the spray through my hair and scrunch with it right out of the shower then use a medium-hold gel to maintain definition throughout the day. For reference, I have very long, curly and dry hair. Having curly hair, I don’t need that much help to show some waves so I use this product as a touch up. PROS – It controls the fizz on my hair. – It helps redefine my curls after several days since washing my hair. – It smells so good (in my opinion) so I love to spray it on my hair even just to enjoy the perfume. If you don’t like strong scents, stay away from this one. – The spray delivers the product very evenly. – Reasonably priced. – Cruelty free. CONS – It tends to dry my hair so it is a good option on these humid Florida summer days but I won’t be able to use it during the winter. I cannot use it everyday because of this reason. – I have curly hair so I don’t have volume issues so I cannot say if it adds volume.sara.a

I am about 1 year into my CGM journey, and at this point – I rarely find products that work as well as my hair's natural oils. Even though I try to avoid shampoo, when I do use it (before hot tools or after about 3-4 weeks of conditioner rinses) I need to add a bit of moisture to make up for what I've rid my curls of. I tried this product after a wash day. It is one of the only products I've tried recently that actually feels natural in my hair. It helps to define curls and rid frizz. It dries with a light cast, but just enough for my hair to clump not enough to leave a waxy/dry texture like other competing products. I rarely feel comfortable using only one product. It's either a natural look sans products, or a mix of products (leave-in, oil, cream, maybe gel and spray etc., Depending on the style). This product is a mix of both worlds; leaves my hair natural looking without being too fluffy, yet offers enough moisture and oil for clumping without being heavy. Love the shine it adds. Ouai Curl Crème saves time for me since it's a cream + oil + hydrator + styling product. Great for traveling with. Easy to refresh dry hair with or style wet hair with. The scent is so luxuriously floral yet sweet, the packaging looks elegantly simple, and the bit about the "ex" on the packaging gave me a good chuckle. Ouai Curl Crème has my curls screaming, "oui, oui!" I have natural roots, ends relaxed and dyed (damaged), mix of curl textures (2b-3c), long length. This product is clearly a creme that is not shy to define, and give your hair a subtle yet noticeable shine. IMMEDIATELY after drenching my hair in water, and applying the product, I barely had to touch my hair, and the definition was VERY apparent. Y'all, when I say, I was shook… I have never in all of my 21 years of life had a product instantly define my hair upon application. I barely had to finger comb. It for sure provides a nice element of moisture as well, and I find that the more I've used it these past couple of weeks, the softer my hair is getting. I'm not 100% sure if it's this product, or some of the other products that I've been using in my hair for the time being, but I do know that this is clearly the moisture and defining agent in the squad of hair products I've been using. This product has chia & linseed oil, babassu oil, and coconut oil in it, which are clearly carrying the product and running so that it doesn't even have to jog on it's own. Babassu oil is known as an oil that promotes high moisture retention, which seals the moisture into your hair shaft (ideal for high porosity hair types), and you know lack of moisture retaining products in your haircare routine is one of the #1 causes for breakage. Chia seeds are rich in fatty acids which work to not only penetrate your hair shaft (great for low porosity hair types), but seal in the moisture as well. Linseed oil is the same as flaxseed oil, which is high in vitamin E, and not only treats hair loss, but promotes growth. For my dry scalp peeps, flaxseed oil also can be used to prevent dandruff, and can provide relief. If you have damaged hair, or chemically processed hair, this is very ideal, since it has great moisture retaining properties, and it seals damaged cuticles. I have pretty curly hair but it's very fine and I was worried this cream would be too heavy but that is not the case at all! I use this on my hair while it's wet by section with a denman brush and my curls look incredible. if you diffuse, it creates a great mask for the curls that you can brush out after. my curls seriously last 3 days through workouts, sleep (I plop/pineapple my hair without a bonnet and they stay!) DC humidity, all of it. I use it with the OUAI medium shampoo and conditoner, and it's smells great! not perfumy or overwhelming. cannot recommend this more! in my pictures the one in the green shirt is day 3 curls, the other one is day one.larklewis

This product is absolutely the best thing for my hair. Best used if you have ringlets as opposed to “kinky” or “wavy” hair (in which case maybe look at “Killer Waves” by KevinMurphy) I have very curly but normal thickness hair and I prefer to water it down a little. I bought Kevin Murphy products by suggestion of my stylist. I got the Smooth shampoo and conditioner. This is some of the worst shampoo and conditioner I've ever used. Herbal Essence smooths my hair more than these products! The shampoo and conditioner are so harsh are my curly hair, it is left dry and brittle after each time I've used it. My scalp is always itchy also. I use a wet brush in the shower to comb through the conditioner and detangle my hair, but it is a work out with this conditioner. There is no slip. After my hair dries it ends up severely tangled, knotted, and deprived of moisture. Not only are the products poor quality but the packaging is terrible. It's really hard to pop open the caps. I have had to unscrew the lids off every time to get product out. You also can't squeeze them much so that makes it difficult to use all of the product in the bottle as well. Lastly, the smell isn't very nice either. It's tolerable, but not preferable. I wish I could say there was anything redeeming about these products, especially since they were so expensive, but unfortunately these are a huge miss and I can't imagine why any salon is carrying them.Shannon

The actual product is amazing, it helps add volume to my hair but still feels clean and smells great. My problem is just with the container- the first time I went to open the lid, it broke off at the super flimsy hinge. I love this this product! Finally something that does NOT make my hair more frizzy, crunchy, dry or greasy. I have fine to medium curly long hair, I am of Eastern European descent. I just use a very small amount like directions advised, worked it into my wet hair, scrunched it with my hands and let air dry. My hair is sooo soft, no frizz and my curls are defined. I have been searching for a natural product without chemicals that actually works. I love it! It also has a tropical fragrance that is not overwhelming and smells so good! I found this product yearssss ago when I first started the Curly Girl Method. It was very runny, white and much lighter. I ended up repurchasing it and when I opened it, it is incredibly yellow and thick and the ingredient list is completely different. I don't use it everyday to care but in general, Shea Moisture was my Go To absolutely favorite brand and I used their shampoo and conditioner for about 8 years- but I noticed it a couple of months ago stripped my hair and caused an insane amount of frizz. I bought a travel size of this a few months ago to see if it would be a better product for me than Advanced Climate Control Gel, which leaves a slight cast if used alone on my hair, and just bought the full size. I have used this cream mixed with gel for windy days or extra definition with good results. I have also had satisfying results using this cream alone after a leave in conditioner. It responds well to second or third day refreshment with a little water or spray conditioner on my 2C/3A natural graying hair.Louisa

My hair stylist always used this product to style my hair & I love it. I tried to use the cheap brands that claim to do the same but finally made the move to purchase quality as the other products don’t do what ouidad does. I have very fine, high porosity (very absorbent), blonde curly hair. I don't have the best of luck with styling creams, some work and some weigh my hair down, some feel very crispy, some make my hair look instantly greasy. This stuff works! I wash and condition (sun bum regular or Pacifica pineapple curls) and then put a little of this styling cream into my wet but not sopping wet hair. Then I sleep on it and in the morning my hair is good to go. Nice natural looking and feeling curls that stay in. As someone who has stick straight hair, I love this product. A disclaimer, my hair is not capable of getting that cute scrunched look. If I want curls, heat is my only option. I shower, add the styling cream (smells amazing), air dry overnight, and then curl in the morning. This is the only product that I have used that will help my hair hold the curls in all weather and all day. I also use very minimal hairspray after curling. My hair is living her best life with this curl cream!! I've been Garnier-loyal for over 10 years, but after one use of this cream, I was sold. I have 3 different textures of hair: the front/sides are soft, tight spirals, the back is frizzy, tight spirals, and the underneath is soft and wavy at most. I have loved just about everything I've used from Paul Mitchell. The product seems to do what it is designed to do, only tried it once. However, I would like to know how this product passed quality control due to the smell?!! It literally smells like the bottom of a litter box with 4 Male cats. It's super easy to apply and I was looking for something that not only added moisture to my hair but would help bring my dry damaged curls back to life and this product has been very good so far! It's soften my hair and I can see the hydration by how well my hair stayed together it didn't feel coarse, and controlled my frizz. My wavy curls have definitely improved in bounce. Im struggling with frizzy hair for some time and on top of that my hairs are fine. I have try all different products (even from Colour Wow) and this is first product I notice doing anything to my frizz till I decided to try travel version of this. I use it after every wash, and my hair look better straight away. I have medium thickness, relatively straight, but pretty darn frizzy and wild hair. My hair gets oily pretty quickly, so I tend to avoid post-shower products because they tend to make the oils worse. I received this gifted by Color Wow and I am pretty happy with it! It's not totally transformative or anything, but it definitely does help control my frizz quite noticeably and makes my hair much more manipulatable and easier to manage, without any crunchy or strange residue (unless you put too much, but its pretty easy to brush out even if you do). I was really pleasantly surprised by this product! My hair is VERYYYYY frizzy. It’s naturally very wavy, but the days that I blow dry it straight even it gets frizzy pretty quick. I found myself reaching for this a lot, both with and without the blow dryer. At first it almost makes your hair look a little bit greasy, so you don’t want to add too much too soon. Start small and build it up. Either way I found it soaks into your scalp in no time, but if it still looks a little oily I used the blow dryer which helped! There is a pleasant and slight scent, nothing irritating. I really like how it didn’t weigh my hair down, it just tamed those flyaways and the frizz! I've never had a product that does what this product does. I have long brittle balayaged hair and after using conditioner my hair used to feel weoged down and limp. Ever since I included this in my routine, that has changed. I section my hair into two and apply a pea sized amount in each section avoiding the scalp and comb/brush each section to make sure the product spreads evenly. This product also helps with detangling. Degangle with fingers before your comb if you have long hair like me. Whoever is confused about this product isn't using it right..you're either using too much or it's not spreading well in your hair. After application, my hair no longer feels limp. They just feel healthy. If you feel the need to add more shine after this you can use the number 7 olaplex oil, just a drop after this. This routine is everything. Use the amount of product as asked by professionals and you will not find it as pricey either.addie

I have been wearing extensions for some time and decided to up the game and treat my hair to Olaplex. Big big mistake! The product is way too rich for hair extensions and it has completely dried them out! I had a lovely 20 inch, double drawn balayage hair extensions fitted in April 2022 and bought this kit in May.l (then repurchased when I was out). By September I have left 18 inch and dry as the Sahara. If you have hair extension please stay away! I’m not even close to the 12 month mark with my extensions and I’ll need to get new ones because my hair looks terrible. All that money down the drain, no pun intended. In the past I used just a normal cheap ish shampoo recommended by my extensions girl and I still have the old extensions, that I took out just after the 12 month mark & they’re in perfect condition. This oil has saved my dead ends, it makes my hair so soft, smell so good and has a beautiful shine. It's really helped revive my damaged hair. Growing up I was always taught to use drug store shampoo conditioner, I had never used anything different or tried any hair oils or masks and where I live we have hard water and it's really taken a toll on my hair over the years. So I started using better shampoo, hair oils, masks treatments and got a shower filter and it's really helped so much. I've tried a couple oils and since using this one I've really noticed a difference. I have super straight, super fine, super blonde, color treated hair. Most of my life I’ve had very short cuts (pixies and the like) because I never learned how to manage long hair – I was also a teen in the 90s when V05 hot oil was about as good as hair care products got. For my hair texture that just wasn’t ok because it weighed me down and made me look like an utter greasy mess. The past few years I’ve been growing it out just to see how it goes in the modern era with modern hair care products (I feel like some time-traveling Victorian) and was borderline ready to chop it because I still couldn’t figure out how to not make it look like a crazy wild mane of flyaways and snarlballs right about when Covid hit. So I had to suck it up and figure something out. I gave this a try after reading reviews and I’m SO glad I did. My hair looks shiny and glossy and full without even a hint of grease and all of the flyaways are tamed. It’s like photoshop for your hair. And oh MY is it soft! There’s no gooey, sticky residue (I even like how moisturizing it is on my hands afterwards), and I use a pump all over when wet, and another half pump on my ends when dry. Also, I have to mention the scent. I have a hard time with heavy smells, especially on my head since I work out daily which means scents get hyper-activated with sweat. I was worried that the scent would be too much, but it’s light and really clean. I used to use Lush R&B on my ends during the winter which I loved the smell of (it’s too heavy to use year round) but I actually like the smell of this even better. It’s lighter and fresher, and dare I say invigorating? Anyway. Yeah. I still can’t braid or curl or style my hair (I wish this did that for me too!) but at least I look like less of a basketcase and I can get a brush through it now!LizHal

I bought this because a hair oil I used for years stopped being sold, and I used to love Moroccan oil in high school. I have very long hair (it's at the small of my back and I'm 5'7"). It's kind of a light-brown/dark-blonde with a hint of red, moderately dense, but the individual hairs are mostly fine and prone to both dry ends and oily mid-lengths. I always use a curl cream and a hair oil to bring out my waves and keep it soft. My last oil treatment had water as the first ingredient and my hair absolutely loved it. What I liked: A little goes a very long way. Tipping the bottle quickly to coat my fingertip was enough for my wet hair (plus a bit less on the ends when dry). It smells amazing, definitely lived up to my memory of that dreamy Moroccan oil smell. As soon as I applied it, my hair felt wonderfully silky and easy to run my fingers through. After I let it air dry as usual, my mid-lengths were very soft, and even the dead ends felt a little nicer to touch (I really needed a haircut when I tried it). The shine is absolutely incredible! It was glossy all the way to the ends, and didn't make my mid-lengths stringy/oily looking (I use Sebastian dark oil now, and need to be a lot more careful with how much I apply or it gets stringy). I got so many compliments on how shiny my hair was the next day. What I didn't like: The first use was amazing, but after i used it for a couple weeks my hair started to feel heavy and hung straighter. It was still shiny, but looked less full and the ends were getting more dry over time. Ultimately, I think having silicone as a first ingredient makes hair oils too heavy for me (though I've yet to find another with water first). I consider this to be more like "hair makeup". If I was going to an event I would 100% use again for the amazing glossy look and intoxicating smell. It doesn't really make hair healthier or moisturized though, so be cautious if you plan to use it after every wash. Definitely need a good clarifying shampoo.pastelorange

I have fine thinning mid back length loose ish curly/wavy hair. The crown and sides have visible hair loss. I've been using curl smith feather light curl cream which adds AMAZING curl definition, my curls have never looked better. The down side is it weighs down my hair. I tried it with their volumizing foam and saw no volume. I tried this product alone and it caused frizz (I always use a defuser) and curl definition was minimal as was the volume it created. I was surprised and delighted to discover that I have naturally curly hair. Odd I know but my hair is abundant and fine. When wet it can be combed straight and that’s my explanation. I have tried a myriad of products on my new found curls and non were what I wanted. Although unusual fine curly hair is shared by others as well so I had confidence I would find the right hair products. With good fortune I did find Ouidad. I am very pleased and finally have a consistent look daily and do very little besides wash and dry my hair. I used to dread and battle summer humidity and now actually like it. After a humid out of doors lunch my hair is curlier and pleasantly thicker. Instead of the constant bother of my drooping, flat hair my hair is curly, bouncy and looks good most of the time, even on rainy days. For the first time ever I am having fun and enjoying my hair. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. That being said, transitioning into warmer, humid spring/summer weather, I’m really pleased to have found this product. It’ll be great for clean summer hair.jessicaeve1023

For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. Anyway I totally recommend this set and if you're getting greasy hair from this set try the medium or fine hair set. This just probably isn't for your hair type. Best used if you have ringlets as opposed to “kinky” or “wavy” hair (in which case maybe look at “Killer Waves” by KevinMurphy) I have very curly but normal thickness hair and I prefer to water it down a little. I bought Kevin Murphy products by suggestion of my stylist. I got the Smooth shampoo and conditioner. This is some of the worst shampoo and conditioner I've ever used. Herbal Essence smooths my hair more than these products! The shampoo and conditioner are so harsh are my curly hair, it is left dry and brittle after each time I've used it. My scalp is always itchy also. I use a wet brush in the shower to comb through the conditioner and detangle my hair, but it is a work out with this conditioner. There is no slip. After my hair dries it ends up severely tangled, knotted, and deprived of moisture. Not only are the products poor quality but the packaging is terrible. It's really hard to pop open the caps. I have had to unscrew the lids off every time to get product out. You also can't squeeze them much so that makes it difficult to use all of the product in the bottle as well. Lastly, the smell isn't very nice either. It's tolerable, but not preferable. I wish I could say there was anything redeeming about these products, especially since they were so expensive, but unfortunately these are a huge miss and I can't imagine why any salon is carrying them.Shannon

I'm a natural with 4a/4b hair that mainly does wash n goes. I wanted a gel to layer for hold that had better ingredients than eco and wetline. I planned to use this as a topper. I've experienced that this product offers great hold, it does not control frizz very well due to the light/watery consistency. I used a botanical gel underneath and I think my hair would have had more frizz control if I used it on damp hair vs. soaking wet. I feel as if my hair dried quicker while using this product (I did sit under the hooded dryer) and the application was super easy. I felt that it had slip due to the consistency. The hold that this gives is correct. I would describe it as a firm-medium. Definitely not a strong hold. And I would agree with the reviewer that said the curls need to be sculpted beforehand. This is not going to give you much definition alone. Use this for additional hold and control. Overall, I think I would purchase again and I'm interested in trying their strong hold gel.Jasmine

I love this product. After my leave-in I usually have a few tangles, but when I use this cream instead of my usual cream, it gave me the best slip and gets all the tangles out that my leave in did not attack, and I had no frizz. It cut my wash day in half. It used to take me an hour in a half to do my hair (tangles, ugh!), now it only takes 45 – 50 minutes. My curls were so hydrated and defined. I just love this product. Don't let the size of the bottle make you think you need a bigger bottle because a little is all you need…about the size of a quarter if you're doing sections (I do 4 sections) but use it according to your hair density. My hair is a thick density on the top (this was great for that) and my hair is 3C/4A. It works perfect my sista's. Try it. Also, I noticed it has shea butter in it…a major plus for moisture. My process is LCG, I have oil that I use after wash day, but I tell you with this cream, you really don't need it. I didn't. Curl Talk don't ever change the formula!Robbin-Lynn

I have type 3c/3b Hair so I am always needing a good hair gel. I do like the original gel in this curl talk line. It provides adequate hold. Once this gel was introduced, I knew I had to try it. It does have a sticky consistency. But I am sure that is what helps the gel give that extra hold. You will have a hard cast on your hair once it is dry, but u can always break the cast if u want to. This gel holds up to humidity well. My advice since it is so sticky to the touch and to avoid tangling your hair is to apply your typical styling products before hand, and add this gel at the very last. It will be easier to work through the hair and wont leave a tangles mess. This is not a good gel if you feel like refreshing or combing out your hair the next day, just cause the extra hold that it does give. This is the only gel that makes me hair curly/ wavy after I put it on, I don’t need to scrunch my hair to see results, it just starts to curl. After that of course I scrunch it to my desire of curliness* but this is in my top 5 of gels. I don’t like gels bc they contain a lot of harsh stuff that can damage and dry out your hair but this here is the best! You won’t go wrong and the smell is like.. in between masculine and feminine. I can’t describe the smell but in my opinion is smells great. Definitely not fruity, it’s smells woodsy I guess but again I’m not good at describing this. I tried so many creams and all kinds of mouse and they would be heavy and weighing down my hair or leave my hair crunchy which i hate so much i used about a dime size amount ( my hair is to the middle of my back) and i put it on my semi damp hair and now my hair is so soft and the best curls I've had in a while. I have fine curly hair that misbehaves between cuts, especially if I’m trying to grow it out. A combination of this product and the REDKEN CURVACEOUS RINGLET works really well as leave in conditioning products. I adjust the balance as my hair grows. If I need more weight I use slightly more of this product. If my hair is long enough and has good weight and needs definition or fly away management, I use the other.Donna T

I received this sample size product complimentary to try from Influenster and Moroccanoil for my honest review and opinion. I really liked the smell of this cream. My hair is kinda weird it’s curly underneath but on top it’s more wavy and frizzy. The parts where my hair is naturally more curly curled super pretty and looked great but the wavier pieces it didn’t change much. It felt a little heavy also but I may have just used to much product. I feel i would need to use it a few more times to give a more accurate review but right now I’d say it’s an average curl defining cream. I also let my hair air dry and I’m curious how it would look if I used a diffuser. I think I’ll end up buying a full size and give it a try. My daughter also has curlier hair than I do and I feel it may be better with her texture and curl. Overall I liked it and would recommend it for anyone with curlier hair.Meliss86

I LOVE this product and this whole brand. I was sent a sample of the curl defining cream and the smell won me over instantly. It just makes your hair smell so good. My husband thought it was my shampoo or conditioner, but he told me my hair smelt so good the first time I used this product. I even went and bought the perfect defense heat protector spray after they sent me this sample. I use it after I curl my hair with my straightener and it just makes my hair smell amazing, reduces any frizz left, and makes my curls bouncy. I also let my daughter use it and she loved it as well. She has super curly ringlets and used it after a shower and her curls looked so good. They were bouncy and frizzless. Received this as a free sample from Influenster. The sample size was a bit too small for me to get a full idea of how this product works for my hair specifically as I usually need a few weeks of use to make a fair judgement, but from a limited perspective, my takeaways are as follows: Smell- amazing, the standard MoroccanOil smell Texture- I prefer styling creams and used this in place of my current one and I did notice that this left a bit of a shell to my hair after use. If I had enough to try again, I may use a bit less product next time, though I didn’t use much. Seems pretty concentrated. If I had received a full bottle, I do think I’d continue to use it until it ran out but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this item. Everyone’s hair is different and mine reacted sort of “meh.” Not bad but not impressive either. I think fans of the line will not regret the purchase, however I didn’t find that I had any urge to switch from my current styling cream (although this one smells so much better)roxanneh

I tried the Good Spin in combination with Class of 93 as was recommended at first but it was too much for my thin hair. Since Class of 93 is called a whipped cream and comes out of a can like a whip I was expecting something light but this stuff is thick. I used way too much the first time so I recommend only dispensing a tiny amount, work in sections, and dispense a tiny bit more only if needed, otherwise you are going to end up with super crunchy hair. I condition my hair in the shower and I have thin hair so I really don't need a leave-in conditioner and I don't know how well this detangles since that isn't an issue for me either. This does help with frizz and defining curls, but so does Good Spin. If you need a leave-in conditioner and detangler, then go for this. If you are just looking for less frizz and defined curls then go for Good Spin. If you have thick enough hair to handle using both products together, then try them both. I received this product for test and review from Topbox. Keep in mind when using this product it is not a light foaming mousse. It is a cream and it is actually very thick, less is more with this product. IGK class of 93 curl perfecting cream does nourish and hydrate my curls. Really really nice scent and the hold lasts 6+ hours. Very beneficial ingredients, listed above. My hair definitely has more volume, shine and controls frizz plus controls flyways. My issue is that this product is sticky. Use very very little at a time until you find the correct amount for your hair. When my hair dries it is crunchy so I have to scrunch a second time to try to get the crunch out. If you over scrunch it can cause it to frizz so just barely scrunch each area. I would still recommend because it does really help curls especially for dry frizzy hair but with a warning that like the title class of 93, it's also sticky and makes hair crunchy like in 93.Jamie

I received this product from Topbox for my honest review. This is a moisturizing, styling cream that acts as a detangler and leave-in conditioner for curly hair. It helps to hydrate, soften, and enhance the definition of your curls with 10 different butters and oils. It also includes fragrance but it has a very mild, fresh scent. It is meant to be used along with IGK's Good Spin Flexible Curl Defining Gelee to help hold your curls and keep them frizz free. I was pleasantly surprised when I first used the curl-perfecting, styling cream. Its contents dispenses like mousse from a can, and I expected it to be a thin cream with a mousse-like texture, but it has a very rich, thick, and creamy texture. I applied it to my washed hair while it was still wet but without following up with the gelee. Although it didn't help to elongate my curls, it definitely moisturized my hair and gave my curls nice definition, as well as, a nice shine. It worked well for my ethic hair type and l liked how it left my curls feeling very hydrated and soft. I will continue to use this cream whenever I wear my hair natural. I recommend this styling cream for all curl types.Robyn

Dare I say a dupe for Ouidad's old school Setting Mist? I used Ouidad's for years, but Ulta doesn't carry it anymore so I tried this and love it- they really are similar products. This stuff surprised me — it's simple, good, smells nice, it's not fussy…..essentially takes your hair's natural texture, wave pattern and…..let's it do it's thing without interfering much. Strange way to describe a product. Here's the deal: I have long, fine (fairly thin) hair. It can be QUITE curly if I "coax" it a lot (layer on leave-ins, cocktail creams and gels, diffuse for an hour, that sort of thing). BUT — I don't want to spent 90 mins on my hair. I want to spend 5 minutes and let it air dry. I've been on the hunt for A SINGLE PRODUCT I can toss in towel-dried hair, let air dry and have "reasonable"-looking hair. I know with one product I'm unlikely to get all the perks (probably not a combo of frizz-control, curl-definition, volume and hold exists in ONE PRODUCT), but I'd like to have "nice-looking" hair that doesn't need a hair dryer. BUT – this does a NICE job of taking my natural hair texture and "preserving" it while it dries. Very little hold, but some nice soft frizz control. Not amazing curl enhancement, but some small amount of volume. It doesn't so much "change" what my hair does so much as it "stays outta the way" and allows my hair to be wavy, beachy, it feels like there's NOTHING in my hair, there's ZERO cast, no-product feel, but definitely adds some volume and softness. I was *QUITE* surprised. Was looking for something to replace a Very Expensive Brand that gives you 5 oz of something that you'll tear through in a week. This seems to fit the bill. No heat required, some gentle definition, plenty of volume and hair that FEELS LIKE HAIR. Will be experimenting with using different amounts of this, but I'll definitely re-purchase. Another staple to have for 2c/3a curls. But only after washing. This can be too heavy. I use only a silver dollar size amount from mid shaft to tip. It gives my curls a little hydration. It has a little slip. And smells so good you want to eat it. But Don’t! I heard from someone that it doesn’t taste as good as it smells. Lolgerri .k
