20 Best Products For Two Strand Twist On 4C Hair (Feb 2023 Update)

The main issue with this product is that the wand that slicks your hair down so nice, can't be lifted off your hair without grabbing them and pulling them up. So the top baby hairs get slicked, then an inch or two down your head when you try to lift the brush away it's pulling your hairs up, creating frizz. I really wanted to like this product, but it's quite a hassle to try to use, and I have to end up using another product to lay down the hairs this pulled up. I would not buy this again. I do have somewhat curly hair, so maybe this would work better for someone with stick straight hair. I'm not sure.Mandy

I Looooovvee the quick slick essence. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Before buying it I tried waxes, smoothing products, or just plain water…anything to smooth down those flyaways, but nothing really gave me the result I was looking for. When I found quick slick, I was amazed at how well the product worked. One application and my hair was immediately smoother. One of the things I love about this product, is that the solution is clear, and isn’t thick or greasy. Once applied, your hair will remain smooth for a few hours before any touch ups are needed, and there is not any noticeable residue. i really wanted to love this but it just doesn't work that well for me. my baby hairs are loonggg and this doesn't slick them back all the way. it slicks back like the first part and then the longer end of the hair looks super weird and sticks out near my the base of the ponytail. but it does work to slick back the first part so maybe try it out if you think it could work for you. hairspray works better for menicole b.

I am loving the volumizing line of this brand. I tried the travel size kit and love all 4 of the products in it. It included the shampoo, conditioner, thickening spray, and scalp serum. This thickening spray is amazing. I start with the serum and massage into my scalp. Then I use this spray. It doesn't spray a lot all at once, which it nice. It doesn't drip all. I spray about 6-7 sprays all over my head but close to my scalp. Then I massage that in. I use a heat protectant gel and dry my hair with my Dyson Air Brush. I look like I have triple the hair I really do. The system provides so much volume and hold. I don't look like I have a hair helmet… there is movement and tons of shine. I was skeptical about purchasing this product line. Most volumizing shampoos, conditioners, and styling products seem to be formulated for younger women and tend to be very drying for anyone my age (60). Because this line is marketed to women who are older, I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. Not only did this product give my hair volume, lift, and density, it also made my hair soft and shiny. I could even run my fingers through my hair without getting them stuck or feeling residue, something that happens with a lot of other volumizing hair products. I love the volumizing shampoo and conditioner in this line as well. If you are a woman of a certain age and are finding that you hair is not as soft, thick, shiny, and strong as it was when you were younger, definitely give this line a try. I initially bought it for my 2 year old daughter. It's a lightweight leave in conditioner that smells nice. It defines and holds curls without any stiffness or stickiness. It's also thick enough to slick your hair down, too. The whole family uses it. If we run out, I dont hear the end of it. So I keep it stocked.Savannah12

One of my favorite products from this line. Very hydrating and smells good – but all these products smell good. My son doesn’t even complain that it says Baby Girl he likes the way it makes his hair look and not dry out. He’s a professional dancer so he sweats ALOT and mid way through rehearsals his hair is a curly mop that lost all shape and style. My hair (3b) loves this conditioner! I have tried many, many different products and this conditioner seems to do the trick. My hair seems softer and less frizzy. The only thing I don’t like is the shape of the bottle and the pump. It is awkward/not as easy as it should be to pump conditioner into my palm.Gr8deals

Super disappointed by this conditioner. I got a sample bottle through POPSUGAR DABBLE. It was not very moisturizing and I had to use so much product to coat my thick curls. I've used ouidad before and I loved it….. but I was so dissatisfied with this. I would never buy it.meghan.n

I have very thick curly hair. Mainly 3b with some bits of 3c. The Twist Big Rich Dreamy ultra hydrating cowash is a cowash, meaning it is meant to cleanse as well as condition. It promises "ultimate moisture" and that it will clean without stripping your hair of its natural oils. The instructions say to "massage through your curls and rinse out thoroughly." Before I get to how it worked on my hair let me explain the packaging. The bottle is a neat looking wavy bottle with a soap pump cap. The pump is my first issue. The opening to the pump top is separated into two by a piece of plastic (like a hand soap pump). The product is *incredibly* thick. That means it is darn near impossible to get any product out. The Twist website says it may take a few pumps to get started, but I pumped and pumped and pumped, and then finally a very small amount came out. After that no amount of pumping worked. I took it off and tried squirting the product into my hand and I kid you not this stuff would not come out. I don't know if it's the shape of the bottle, the thickness of the product or both, but the product will not budge. I put a traditional conditioner cap on the bottle and that didn't work either! Unscrewing the cap and lifting the tube up and down then taking the product off the tube got me a small amount. I shouldn't have to be struggling in the shower to wash my hair. It was ridiculous levels of frustration. I mentioned the product was thick (which normally is a good thing). For such a thick product it does lather quite a bit. It also is *very* heavily perfumed. Unfortunately I wound up with a headache after using it, and no one who smelled it liked the smell. Despite the packaging claims, it *did* strip my hair of its natural oils. My hair dried limp, thin looking, puffy, with zero curl definition, even lacking curl in places. My hair was not moisturized. My curl pattern went poof (literally). It took a few deep conditioning treatments (*not* with a twist/Ouidad product) to get my hair back to its normal texture. I can't recommend this product at all. The bottle isn't user friendly and the product isn't at all good for curly hair. Even if you manage to get it out of the bottle you'll waste your money and potentially ruin your curl pattern. 1 star. This is a lovely cowash, massive bottle and I use less than other similar products. It’s creamy and eventually lathers with a scalp massager as I am used to. I don’t feel like I need a conditioner after and my hair feels silky. It has a faint coconut smell which I don’t mind at all. My only complaint is getting it out of the bottle. It’s quite stiff and can’t be balanced upside down and being a thick product it’s not easy to get it out.Cat

Let me start off with: I love the packaging of this cowash, it is super cute! Because the co wash is super thick, it is really difficult to get out of the bottle. I had to use a lot of it just to coat my hair. I have 3b hair and it is very thick so it took quite a bit of product to coat all of my hair. While the co wash sat it my hair I combed it out with a wide tooth comb and it was very difficult to get the knots out. Once I washed it off I could feel how dry it made my hair. I had to use an excessive amount of leave in conditioner just to get my hair to a manageable level. I would not recommend this to anyone.Kayla

I love these. I have a hard time making easy, good looking buns on my own and these are a game changer. My only dislike is they're a little long and usually stick out of my bun a little (but I also have very fine hair, might not be an issue for ppl with more hair than me), and for my dark brown hair I think maybe I should've gone with the black to keep them hidden. I couldn't see how these would actually work. I was sure my fine straight hair would slip through these. They actually work really well for me and it's so much faster to pin up a bun. I only use a couple extra Bobby pins and I'm set. Holds up all day. Only complaint, if you want to take a nap or lean your head back on the headrest in your car, they are uncomfortable. Otherwise, perfect. Would not use for yoga or any exercise laying on your back unless you do an extremely high bun. Buying a second set now!Laura

I want to just say that I have thick, long (up to my butt) south asian hair. Because of the pandemic being home alot means always keeping it in a bun or a high pony tail away from my face. My scalp would literally hurt from tying my hair too tight (in pony tails) or with too many scruntchies/elastic hair ties and bobby pins (in a bun). My migraines would worsen from all the stress on my hair and scalp. I was a little skeptical at first but I thought might as well try it out since its highly rated yet cheap. THIS IS A GOD SEND! This "hair" is so easy to use for faux locs, I chose a loc size similar to the spacing the hair comes pre pacakged with and it turned out better than I was expecting. This lotion has peppermint, avocado oil and is pleasantly cooling to the scalp. It goes on clean and doesn't get gummy or goopy on your scalp. I decided to get serious about my workout plan so I picked out a braided hairstyle. The workouts were harsh but the pain I continued to feel after getting my hair braided was awful. The applicator of Dark & Lovely protective styles-tension tamer makes it super easy to apply directly on my scalp without using my hands or disturbing my braids. I open the applicator about halfway, so I didn’t apply too much product. Then I applied the Tension Tamer in sections, starting with my hairline around my forehead and working my way towards my nape. This did what it was supposed to do. The only thing I didn't like was that the texture was so rough. I used this hair to install faux dreadlocks. It was affordable at just 5.99 a pack. If you're looking to do braids or faux dreads, and you are on a budget, this is not a bad product. I bought this hair on sale at 4.99 and really liked the Ombre. I got the color OE2T30 and used the hair for a Havana Twist-like protective hairstyle. It came out great. People think it's MY HAIR!! 🙂 The hair is pretty soft compared to other Marley hair and the color is very pretty. It wasn't hard to pull apart when separating. The instructions do not suggest heat but since the hair was Kanekalon, I straightened it slightly to make it blend better with my permed/wavy hair. Con: The only gripe I have about this hair is that the dark root parts appear to look like they just blended a short cut piece of black hair into a long strand of brown, thus making the top thicker and it thins out when it gets to just the brown. Overall, Good Quality for the price. I will be doing a review on You tube soon. I wish to get the Purple next! So pretty and the colors really are very subtle!Marche

I bought the OE2T30 ombre hair when it was on sale at $4.99. I was looking for a slightly different look for my twists, and this was perfect. The ombre effect is not too overpowering and looks very natural. I'd like to try the burgundy next time, I think. My braider had never worked with this hair before, but she absolutely loved it!
