I had been buying the UFO oil for a few years and while I liked how it felt on my skin, I didn't notice a huge difference. My mom let me try her Good Genes one time and I loved the instant plumping effect and dewy finish. I ended up splurging on my own bottle and so far it's definitely been worth it. I have ridiculously finicky skin that breaks out if the wind blows the wrong way but I haven't had any issues with this product (or any Sunday Riley products for that matter). I've been using Good Genes for a few months now and it seems to have helped even my skin tone. I'm 22 so I bought it to just generally improve the appearance of my skin, but my mom really likes using it in combination with a retinol for wrinkles. The main thing I love is that immediate improvement you can see– the day after using it, my skin is always bouncy and glowing. I use it a few times a week, and I don't need too much to cover my face and neck, so I think the bottle will probably last me a while. Either way, I think it's worth it. The reviews are true. This is amazing stuff. It helps to keep my complexion nice, free and clear of zits. But you definitely need to do a double cleanse before applying oils and serums, and layering this on top. It has a bit of a strong smell with thick consistency, and definitely stings until you get used to it. I was unsure but it took about 10 days for me to start seeing results. This is definitely something that sensitive skin folks will have to build up to, I used to use it every other day as part of my nighttime skin care routine. Now I use it every day, morning and night. It sloughs dead skin cells off very gently, and works really well under moisturizer. My skin looks fresher, younger, and my acne seems to be more under control. When I discovered this line and this product years ago I was hooked. Good genes was exactly what the doctor ordered when it came to my skin. It was lovely and worked so well. I've been wearing the dramatically different moisture lotion for 26 years, recently I developed a couple dark spots on my face took a trip to dermatologist and it's from of course years in the sun, she said I had nice skin other than the dark spots and said keep it up with the Clinique! She did recommend a brightener and I took a trip to see my friends at the store and was so excited to see my favorite lotion with a dermatologist made serum all in one! first of all, very cool concept! i love the idea of customizing your moisturizing base AND your actives. i'm currently using the blue clearing jelly with the orange anti-fatigue cartridge. i do have combo oily skin that's prone to breakouts, but i didn't want anything too harsh that might damage my skin barrier-so, i went with the moisturizing base that contains a little bit of salicylic acid instead of the active cartridge full of it, and combined that base with an anti-fatigue active to combat any dullness and puffiness especially around my eyes lately. life has been stressful! luckily, this seems to be doing the trick. i don't see super visible results after two weeks of use-my skin is not 100% transformed with zero concerns-but it does look more even and i do look more dewy and awake during the day (in a good way). i was honestly really excited to try a hydrating jelly instead of the usual lotion or even gel, and i love it! i'm sure it's partially the novelty, but i find the texture to be extremely interesting. it does absorb quickly for me and i haven't noticed any tackiness once it soaks in. i use this (three pumps, i like to be hydrated) in the AM so that it can work throughout my day, and in the PM i go more protective/hydrating with the moisture surge gel. after i let this absorb, i typically use a tinted physical (usually) or hybrid (occasionally) sunscreen, and i haven't noticed any problems with pilling or uneven product distribution. i'm a big fan and i've already reordered another set just to make sure i won't be without it when i use it up since most cartridges are currently sold out!jb
This product is not marketed for acne and dark circles, but here is my story. Clinique discontinued the acne solution moisturizer a long time ago. Since then I wasn't able to find the replacement for my combination, acne prone skin. I tried acne clearing gel they recommended. It dried up my skin. The gel moisturizer is a good one but not enough to tame my adult acne. The consultant I chatted with, recommended the blue cartridge, based on the picture that I sent and my big pores problem. I spent the whole jar without significant improvement. Instead, it was just a waste of money since Clinique ID is more expensive than just the gel moisturizer. I tried non-Clinique products with no significant result. Then I read an independent blog review about all Clinique ID cartridges. It is said the best value is the orange cartridge, because it actually contains ingredients in other cartridges too, but just marketed as "anti-fatigue". So I looked at the reviews at Clinique.com. It DOES have the highest rating. One of them even said it improves under-eyes dark circles! I also have problems with dark circles and none of the "All about eyes" or "even better eyes" works. So I tried this orange cartridge. It DOES significantly tame my acne. I occasionally have hormonal adult acne mostly on the chin, but with the orange cartridge, it seems that they get flatten and heal faster. And my whole face is more glowing than usual. I took a before-after picture that made it look like I applied the "Face app".. with my after face is more glowing like Korean drama actress. I was curious, then I researched about the active ingredient "taurine" in this orange cartridge. It is supposed to improve CIRCULATION. I guess that makes sense, why it helps my acne heal faster, and improves the dark circles. Most of the time, dark circles are caused by poor circulation. It's not often I feel strongly enough to leave a review but on this occasion it is merited. This product would not even have been on my radar but I received some in a goody bag and so gave it a try – I am so glad I did. I noticed an improvement in my skin almost immediately. I suffer from a few stubborn congested pores and within a few days of use the difference is incredible. My skin overall feels much smoother and skin tone appears more even. The product feels like a really good prep for other skincare – my usual moisturiser seems to sink in much more effectively somehow. I try to buy the very best skincare there is and I cant tell you how much $ I've wasted. I am always looking up new skincare products and read every review there is before I purchase the product. And every time I am let down. I read about holy grail products that are supposed to be the absolute best but never worked for my skin or aggravated it. I've always loved Clinique moisturisers, and so when this was recommended to me by a Clinique consultant for the first time, I was really excited to try something new. It felt absolutely amazing when I tried a small amount on my hand in store, but when I got home and started using it properly, I found my skin was left really sticky. I had a few areas of breakouts within the first week, but I put that down to being a new product and hoped it would calm down a bit in due course, but unfortunately it didn't. I've tried it a number of times since then in the hope that my skin was just being fussy (it can be very sensitive sometimes), but I'm still left with a sticky, spotty face afterwards, and in terms of feeling moisturised, it's not really doing much, especially in the more drier areas. As I normally have such confidence in Clinique products, I threw away my reciept so wasn't able to return it to the store for a refund 🙁 I'd really recommend asking for a sample or a smaller bottle if you're new to using this product as judging by the reviews it can be a little hit and miss.Kate
I made an account just to review this product LOL. So I’ve been using this for the past 3 months and have been loving it! At first, I was combining it with a moisturizer right after and it made my eyes burn (products don’t get in, just fumes and/or scents). I got rid of the moisturizer and boom, burning all gone. However, although I love the product, the “hydration” isn’t very strong. But for me, I only need some hydration after a cleanse. The rest of the hydration, I leave it up to my body. It was my first time trying a custom personalized blend of moisturizer plus an active cartridge. I paired the Tone Up version of the moisturizer with a fatigue fighting cartridge (orange) The moisturizer delivers an instant rosy glow (as the description suggests) to my face. I've dry skin so the creaminess of the moisturizer works well for me. I'm not sure what effect the cartridge is actually having independently on my face but the overall product combination definitely keeps my face from drying and gives a very nice glow to it all day round. At times I don't even need to layer it with base makeup. Even a pump of it does the job. Got this on sale, and for the results it delivers, I would buy it for full price too.

I honestly have yet to see any results. I do like the applicator bottle, it's unique and allows me to shake a bit directly onto the skin. I do like that this serum has some good key ingredients like glycolic acid, tranexamic acid, and niacinamide. Because of those key ingredients I believe my skin is still benefiting from my continued use of this Vichy serum. It does have some good claims like fade dark spots which I do have, reduce the look of wrinkles which I also have, and even skin tone out which I can benefit from. I've been using the Vichy LiftActiv B3 Serum everyday for 3 weeks now. I started off using twice a day as per the directions on the bottle but I felt like the more sensitive areas on my face was drying out. I used it once a day after that and had no more problems with drying skin. I like that the serum is more liquidlike and not sticky. It's closer to the consistency of water which I like because it doesn't feel sticky on my face like other serums. It gets absorb into my skin quickly and feels like I have nothing on my face which I like. It has a very slight chemical smell but I don't mind. As far as effectiveness, I've definitely noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin. My pores are not as visible which makes my face look smoother. I've also noticed the dark spots of my face due to acne blemishes are looking more red than the dark brown color they were before so they are fading. Overall my skin also looks clearer and brighter. My only negative is I wish that the bottle were different. I don't like having to shake the bottle a couple of times to get a few drops on my hand. This is the best "serum" I have EVER used, & I've used alot in my 51 years. The main reason I bought this is I have been "researching" the ingredient transemic acid, as it is supposed to help redness caused by broken blood vessels (which I have on my cheeks & sides of nose). In this very hot weather, when it is hard to stop sweating, this light serum is a godsend on its own-it leaves my face feeling soft, smooth & hydrated, & INSTANTLY makes my skin look glowy(not greasy), erases open pores on nose/cheeks, evens out my skintone, softens all my fine lines, makes my skin feel plumped & firmer, & gives enough hydration to not bother with a moisturiser afterwards(if it wasn't so hot at present, I would moisturise afterwards). I do not leave house much at present due to illness, but when I do, I will use this serum in daytime too as part of my daytime skincare, as it makes such a difference instantly to my skin(but wouldn't waste in daytime whilst just at home). I cannot sing the praises of this serum enough. Whilst it does even out my skintone instantly, it hasn't yet helped with reducing my broken blood vessels, but DOES overall even out skintone excellently before any other skincare/makeup. This is one of the best hydrating serums I've used. I have pretty bad eczema flare ups and I usually go for this bottle whenever I do have one. I have been using this serum along side other products for almost 3 weeks now and to be honest I did find a slight change in my skin. The texture of the serum is nice not too sticky and it dries great on the skin leaving no grease cast and gorgeous from within glow. I would say that the size is quite small for the price. Another thing, I didn’t breakout from this product which is good for my acne-prone skin. Highly recommend this for dry skin as well. It leaves my skin hydrated with nice glow and pairs well with my other skin care products. My skin is usually dry/sensitive. I wanted to take a break from my retinol product for the summer, but thought I'd try this for a continued bit of skin renewal/turnover. I've loved this product so far (having used it about 2 weeks now). You only need about 3-4 drops, so it should last a long time. It absorbs quickly without any greasiness and my skin feels much softer than on the days I don't use this product. I have not noticed any irritation or increased sensitivity, which I appreciate as I take multiple medications that make my skin extra sun-sensitive.Kacey B.

A lot of reviewers say it burns. It does a little but this is what made me feel like it's working. I didn't get any redness just felt a tingle. Aren't retinoids supposed to sting a little if they're strong? I can't say I pay close enough attention to see a difference. Then again, I've tried other retinoids and don't see a difference with them either, so I might just not have an eye for gradual improvement. Some other Retinoid products didn't have the slightest sting, which made me feel like they just don't have any oomph. But I could be wrong. I also got the trial size as a gift with purchase so I didn't use it for long. Because I got the trial tube, I can't speak to the complaint I've seen about that and wasted product.Bea
After exfoliating in the shower and application, the product stings my skin and it has a burning sensation that has lingered for several minutes. My face is quite red from it – probably from the Retinol and possibly from applying it ontop of my serum with hyaluronic acid (my mistake). All the previous times I've applied it, there is a slight tingling where you massage the product into the skin. Not unpleasant but on sensitive skin it may be irritating and may not be suitable to apply every day. Press down on the top to squeeze out the product – a full push down dispenses just a touch too much product for my face – but I would probably use this amount on an extra dry day. The product comes out the colour between pale yellow to pale seafoam green. There is only a slight scent – not overpowering but not fragrance-free and I quite enjoy it. Bonus: you can unscrew the lid to scoop out the product at the end of use. I know it's supposed to be a 2-in-1 serum with cream but it's consistency and the feel on my skin makes me want to either use a serum first and/or apply a moisturizer after. I've been applying a serum before and it seems to be the best route for me. It's also winter so my skin is naturally dryer than normal so I would be happy to use this product without an additional serum or moisturizer in the hot summer. It's got a thick consistency but is not greasy at all. It soaks into the skin quickly and doesn't leave any kind of residue. Sometimes when I use a serum and moisturizer, there's an odd reaction where it pills or balls up, like dead skin – this does not do that. I've been using it for over 1 month now and I didn't have any notable wrinkles to begin with, but I haven't gotten any new ones…so I am happy with that! Oh my god I love this! Feel so lucky to find a 1) fragrance free 2)body moisturiser that 3) contains retinol, and 4)that retinol is encapsulated! It’s beautifully moisturising, nice and thick but not greasy, leaves my eczematic skin nice and protected. On top of that, my skin LOVES retinoids, and this helped my eczema flair around my belly button clear a little more quickly (beware those who are new to retinoids though this will not be your experience AT FIRST). Love the ingredients, in fact if this had ceramides in it, it’d basically be MY perfect body product haha. The retinol is encapsulated, stabilising it and making it more effective at penetrating the skin barrier while also making it gentler! This is also a great priced product which makes all of this even more exciting to me. Only ding I have is the pump! It’s terrible lol, and mine basically stopped working with 3/4 of the tub full! The moisturiser, while perfect for my skin, is too thick for the pump, so I ended up opening the lid to scoop it with my hands which… is hard when I’m wet after a shower! Plus I get nervous adding moisture to my tub products, worried that it might overwhelm the preservatives and lead to microbe growth. That was disappointing bc my second fav body moisturiser (CeraVe) has the same problem. All in all I’m still going to get it again, even if I have to forego the pump, I would highly recommend to anyone, and if I didn’t have a retinoid I love for my face, I’d use this as a facial moisturiser as well!iHerb Customer
I have been trying to incorporate anti-aging products into my skincare routine, and wanted to try a cream based version instead of a retinol serum as my skin is sensitive to new products. I have been regularly using the product since I purchased it, and have been noticing improvements in my skin. Using the cream did result in some skin peeling near my eyebrows during the first few weeks, but that is apparently a sign that the product is working. The cream is not heavy and feels moisturizing during application. I have noticed visibly brighter and smoother skin; the texture of my skin has really improved. I alternate between using the retinol cream and the collagen cream from the same brand. The cream has a barely noticeable scent to it. This product is AMAZING, BUT there is a caveat. Often times when I buy this product it seems spoiled, like how vitamin C can go bad if not kept correctly. The product should be a light orangey color, but when it's gone off it's a darker orange. I've used this for years and return it before I even walk out of the store most times because I know to check to see if it is bad/old/whatever is going on with it. If you do get a good bottle, you'll be writing a great review, trust me. But if I got my first bottle or two and it was sticky and smelled odd, and didn't do what others claimed it would, of course I would be skeptical too. 75% of the bottles I buy, whether Sephora or Ulta, are always bad. This is one of those products that you didn't know you needed until you try it. This is a very high quality serum that I received a sample of. My skin is mature with fine lines, very dry, and prone to acne breakouts. As instructed I placed three or four drops in my hand and applied it to my face. It easily spread over my skin and my skin absorbed it quickly and it left it feeling extremely smooth It even looked better after the first application. So far I really love what I'm seeing with this product. I applied a light nighttime moisturizer afterwards so far I have not broken out and my skin already looks a lot better. I am someone who takes care of their skin or at least I thought I was but this product may be something that I will add to my regimen. It contains some wonderful anti-aging properties such as vitamin c and retinol. I got this sample of Multi-Action Super-C Retinol Brighten and Correct Vitamin C Serum from @strivectin months ago I've been using it for over a couple of months, so now it's time to give my honest opinion. I'm usually incredibly sensitive to Retinol, so I was hesitant about trying this at first. It's actually very, very gentle. Idk the % of Retinol, but I did start off slowly. I used it 2X a week, then built up to 3-4X a week. I do feel a slight warming sensation after applying it, but it does go away after about 5 min or less. The serum has a strong scent to it, like a strong citrus type scent, but it does go away after about 2 mins. It's a thick, orange serum that will feel tacky at first, but it does absorb into your skin. I put on toner first, then this serum, then a thick, moisturizing cream to keep my skin calm. I have noticed a more even texture to my skin my skin just looks overall more healthy than it did before. I have quite a bit of serum left (you only need a drop or 2), so if any changes happen, I'll update. Note: I had absolutely NO purging, dryness or redness when using this serum. If you're not used to Retinol, start off slowly. 1-2X a week, then work your way up. I was really dubious about buying this product – it is a bit of a luxury item . I tend to have oily forehead/T zone area. I'm currently investing in my skin and looking at adding goodness instead of using potentially pore blocking makeup products to eliminate unwanted shine The great skin natural skin foundation is my favourite foundation! I have very large pores on my cheeks and my foundation always sinks in my pores. I was so embarrassed and made me self conscience when people were staring at my pores. This is my new go-to cream. I have used so many luxury moisturizers (some over 500 dollars) and none performed better than this. It’s given me glowing, radiant, gorgeous, flawless skin. I’m 29 with combo/oily skin with some dry areas, and still do get the occasional hormonal breakout from time to time, and also have large pores. This cream gives me skin that looks filtered/retouched 24/7 and feels amazing. I’m obsessed with it. I’m so glad I got two of them to last a while. Honestly though, one of my favorite things about it is the lovely scent. Very nice, but not overpowering. I received this product via an Ipsy subscription. I do NOT have a complicated skincare regimen, and I am TERRIBLE about taking care of my 35-year-old skin at night… However, in the morning, I am fab! I don't have an "11" between my eyebrows… I have what I affectionately refer to as my (one) "indignant line". In the morning, I use a basic cleanser, a clearing serum, this stuff, and a tinted moisturizer. After a month, my indignant line has faded since using this stuff just ONCE a day. Like, seriously, there is BARELY any makeup caked into that line by the end of a long day. I am quite confident I have this product to thank for these results. This stuff is GREAT isht. I DO NOT understand the cult following behind this product. First of all, it’s greasy af. I have *very* dry skin and it’s too greasy even for me, so I have a hard time figuring out what skin type this would even be good for. Second, it increases your skin’s sensitivity to the sun (I mean, it literally says so right on the jar) so you MUST layer a sunscreen over top (more oil, yay). But even that isn’t really feasible, because every time I use this alongside another product (like serum or foundation) it causes the other product to kind of pill? Finally, it feels very harsh on my skin. It almost stings a bit, and not in a good, tingly way. In a “I’m about to break out� kind of way. The ONLY time I can realistically use this is when A) I’m exceptionally dry, B) I’m positive I won’t be going outside, and C) if I know I won’t be using any other products or doing my makeup at all. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is a treatment for discoloration and dark spots. It can also help visibly correct uneven skin tone and help the appearance of any skin texture. It doesn't have an overpowering scent , rather it has a lovely light airy floral scent which was very nice. I loved how smooth and silky the solution felt as soon as it touched my face! I have sensitive skin and braced myself for any light discomfort or irritation that most treatments of the same kind I have tried in the past usually gave me. I was pleasantly surprised that there was not a moment of discomfort and how gentle it was! It absorbed quite quickly but still left a lingering smooth feeling on my skin. I used this product for well over a week and am still using it, and so far not only has it delivered on its promises of clearing up dark spots and uneven skin tone but my acne I was experiencing cleared up, which was definitely the icing on the correcting treatment cake! In comparison, the other treatments I have tried in the past were too harsh on my skin, has an overpowering scent that never dissipated, made my complexion look ruddy, and definitely didn't have the bonus of clearing up my acne, let alone my dark spots and uneven tone! This is a lightweight serum that you use a couple of drops of AM and PM, before your moisturizer. It contains a fair amount of alcohol and not a great deal in the way of effective lightening ingredients to fade dark spots. I counted Vit C, E (both destroyed by the oxidizing see-through bottle packaging), a couple of plant extracts, an AHA (Citric acid) and a BHA (Salicylic acid) and that's about it! The rest were humectants and binding ingredients. With the right packaging and a few tweaks to the ingredients list I'm sure this could be a great product. As it is, I just didn't find it all that effective. and whatever is in there is not at the concentration it should be. I used this on one area – my chin as this is where my marks show up the most frequently, and in the time I used it, I saw only a minor difference in the color of the marks, it was barely even noticeable. What I appreciated about it on the other hand is that it didn't cause any adverse reactions (it's fragrance, silicone paraben-free) and it helped keep my chin area blemish-free, most likely down to the AHA BHA content. So, I've been using this for 12 weeks now – in the morning and at night before bed – may have done 1x a day here and there – but this is a fantastic product.. I grew up in the 80's-90's so we were always in the sun with our baby oil and tin foil, destroying our skin and I have the dark spots to show for it now. I've been using a retinol for a couple of years and while it helps, it hasn't helped as much as this with lightening these spots – I don't expect miracles and for them to be gone over night – or ever, to be honest…but to have them lightened up as much as they have, is all I can ask. I can wear this under make-up w/o an issue at all and it pairs fine with my other products that I use in my routine. I will continue to use this because I am very happy with the results thus far. I did take a before picture – but of course, I can't find it! But here is how it looks today without any makeup or filters to blur it all out. It's not perfect, but, it's definitely lightened and some of the smaller ones are gone completely. The most important thing is that you'll need to be consistent…its not going to work if you aren't. But it 100% works if you are and I'll definitely repurchase when this is gone – I still have about half a bottle so a little goes a long way with this!Kate5

There's a reason why Sunday Riley is in my top three favorite brands. Literally everything I have tried from this brand just works for my skin. I'm also impatient and such a fan of instant gratification and in my opinion that is what they deliver. Using their products my skin looks instantly hydrated, plump, glowing and even toned. This serum has a light lotion feel. If you have normal skin like myself it can be hydrating enough on its own. If not it layers well with other products. It absorbs into the skin like a dream and leaves it feeling smooth to the touch. It does have a light citrus scent that doesn't linger after application. Containing 15% stabilized vitamin c it helps protect against the elements and also helps to firm, brighten and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also have fade dark spots. Other top ingredients are Phytosterols Complex which helps to calm the skin and reduce redness and skin sensitivity.Saccharide Isomerate Extract which helps strengthen and maintain the skin barrier as well as reduce the appearance of pores and glycolic acid which can help gently exfoliate the skin as well as help with breakouts. My skin has changed a lot throughout the past years. I personally as of now struggle with comedones. I was acne prone as a teenager and have gained clear skin through birth control as well as spironolactone. Still looking for something to get rid of these comedones. Using this was very good for comedones considering it dries out those follicles that way the excess oil and sebum will be prevented from clogging a pore. However, if you struggle with dry skin do not use this. Unless you are applying pure aloe vera and coconut oil on your face 3 times a day this is not the product for you. My nose started peeling and flaking after 2 days of using it. I only applied it once each 2 nights. So I started using the JUNO face oil each night and the U.F.O. some mornings, which definitely worked in my favor. I used to struggle with oily skin but with the spironolactone it has definitely taken away those oils. If you also use another acne treatment definitely do not do this because that can cause irritation and a reaction. If you struggle with pores, acne, and have oily skin then i definitely recommend this product. Definitely not good for normal or sensitive skin either.koszmar
This was my first product from Sunday Riley. It was recommended to me by the Real Skincare Discussion. I started to get more acne and breakouts as I got older, but I was put on prescription creams for them. I believe this is why my skin disliked this serum. I started very slowly with a small patch test, and when I worked up to my whole face, I broke out everywhere. Although I used the prescription cream and this serum at opposite times of the day, I think it was simply too much for my skin. Either that or my face cannot tolerate one or more of the ingredients. However, I have found that if I use it on body acne as a light spot treatment, it does help with size and redness. I have been using the serum on my boyfriend’s face instead (always putting it in my clean hands first) and any breakouts, clogged pores and blackheads have noticeably improved with this. He gets compliments on his skin all the time, but I don’t get any of the credit for introducing him to this or any type of skincare routine at all lol. Overall, definitely a great product to try if you have acne, blackheads, clogged pores and would like to clear up your skin without stripping it of moisture.veteranlover

I remember at the age of 18 years old, I purchased a bottle with my hard earned money because I heard so many great things about this product. At the time, I didn't see very much difference in my skin when using this– very gimmicky, but it was a great alternative to use as a toner when I didn't have any. I stopped using after a year and purchased a bottle maybe every other year to help my skin from not getting to use to the product. Now after 10 years, I can honestly say this is one of those skincare products that I have never replaced and is always consistent in my skincare routine. It leaves my skin plumped, bouncy, and youthful. It quickly sinks into the skin fast, locks in moisture, and a great prep for my other skincare. I don't use this as a toner but as an essence like it is meant to be (after toner). I noticed a difference in my skin when I don't use this, I can't really explain it, but something you must experience. Though now, I am 28 years old, people think I look 20 years old and I think its based off of me using this essence for years. This product is something you must use pretty consistently to see some difference, definitely give it a try!hue.v
SK-II, let’s talk about it. So I just got the trial size, and so far I have noticed a big difference in skin texture and the fungal acne (or little bumps that wouldn’t every go away on forehead). I think the brightening was due to a vitamin C serum (from Sephora) I started. I have combo to dry skin, which I just figured out. Honestly makes a huge difference now that I’m moisturizing way more. So anyway, that’s what I’ve noticed over a few days, but that could change. It is a very watery formula, but the product comes out in droplets so you typically aren’t wasting. I just drop a few droplets on my hand, spread out on hand, and then dab into my skin. To me, it doesn’t smell and isn’t sticky or anything. Again, to me, it feels like nothing on my face. I use it pm and am, and I’ve barely made a dent in the trial size. Is it worth 235? Not unless you makin big bank. But I’ve had no adverse effects, and I really think it’s made a difference. I have zero complaints and if I wAs a RiCh gUrL, I would definitely buy. Also, their origin story is worth reading into.Katsutini
This review is for SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) which was tested as part of a regimen sent complimentary from Influenster and SK-II for testing purposes. It’s difficult to distinguish the effects of the individual products used as part of the regimen, I’ve included an overall review for the regimen, and a review about specifics of the individual product in each product review on Influenster. I would do the same here, but for character limits. The regimen included: Facial Treatment Cleanser, Facial Treatment Clear Lotion Toner, Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence), and SKINPOWER Cream, applied in that order. Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence): 5/5 My impression of the Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) is very positive. I will start by mentioning that it had quite a strong smell, reminiscent of Sake, but for some reason it doesn’t come off to me as something that would irritate people who are scent sensitive (for allergy purposes. If you’re scent sensitive for purposes such as migraine triggers, it’s still a no, but I get migraines and it didn’t happen to trigger me, for whatever that’s worth to you). This product is definitely moisturizing and softening, but I’m also quite certain that this is responsible for much of the dewiness and brightening I get from this regimen. I do not have the problem with this product bottle that I have with the Facial Treatment Clear Lotion Toner, as even though I still apply with my hands, I only get about a drop out at a time when I invert the bottle, which is what I want to prevent waste. If I had to order all the products in this regimen from most to least favourite, this would be at the top. It’s clearly the secret sauce of this regimen and makes the biggest difference. I've been plagued by sensitive/reactive/difficult skin for most of my adult life and received diagnoses that range from acne through peri-oral dermatitis to, most recently, rosacea. Even dermtologists don't seem to be sure what the problem is. Al I can definitely say is that azealic acid is great at calming things down. It's not miraculous: it has taken more than six months' of usage for me to see a marked improvement but, in my opinion, it works to reduce inflammation, smooth texture and even pigmentation. I apply it (generously) only at night because it is just one layer too many during the daytime, under sun protection cream and foundation. It may have a quicker effect for those who use for an entire 24 hours. For reference, I can't tolerate any form I've so far tried of retinolid but the azealic acid has never irritated my skin.. I use it in combination with niacinimide on spot-prone areas. A month agao I stopped taking the long term antibiotic I was prescribed for its anti-inflammatory rather than anti-microbial effect because it never worked very consistently or well on its own, and because I was worried about the side effects. The positive results from the azaelic acid have given me the confidence to bin the pills and – so far – my face is doing fine.Jeremiad
This has been a life saver while pregnant. I haven't had much acne in my life but when I got pregnant it seemed to flare up worse than ever. A lot of the other products I would use for other skincare concerns or sporadic acne I was unable to use while pregnant. I first bought the smaller size which is only 10 dollars then the large size for 20. It does not get any better than that. The large tube has lasted me two months so far and still has a ton left in it. I definitely can't use this product alone because it can go on a little dry., I do have dryer skin though. The ordinary always delivers with the bests price and quality products that work. I love how the products are simple, no fragarance and takes most of the guessing out of the equation. Sometimes the brand can be confusing when knowing what products to buy or mix but this is a product that can mix with pretty much everything if not everything (I don't know of anything it does not layer well with. As a preface, I'm trying to cut out actives from my routine that are for proactive prevention, and am substituting those for actives that address problems I currently have with my skin as my skin is sensitive. I bought this and used it every day for a week when I started breaking out on my forehead, chin, and cheeks. Most of my acne is on my cheeks, but breaking out on my forehead and chin was new so I knew it was because of this product. I really want to love this since I know azelaic acid is good for both active acne and acne scars. I followed the instructions on the box and applied this after serums and before moisturizers. The only other active I use at the moment is niacinamide (and propolis, not sure if that counts as an active ingredient), see my routine below for more details. Any tips or suggestions from fellow acne-prone/sensitive skin people would be greatly appreciated! My routine ATM- Gel-based face wash Hydrating toner Serum with propolis and niacinamide (Would put this suspension here when I used it) Moisturizer. This product is thicker than other Retinol serums I've tried and had a distinct scent. The scent isn't over-powering and doesn't irritate my sinuses. Instructions say use four drops; that's not enough to cover my face. I need to use about eight drops. Even so, my sensitive skin loves this product. It absorbs quickly, isn't sticky, and leaves my face feeling moisturized and smooth. Of course, I wish it wasn't so expensive or was in a larger quantity for this same price but I'll continue to repurchase it because it works better for me than other brands. I noticed a difference in the texture of my skin after one use, which surprised me because my skin was already smooth. This made my skin extra soft, if that makes sense. The dropper works well. Worse case scenario, turn it upside-down in the palm of your hand when the bottle is almost empty. I also use this line of eye serum and eye cream. I've been using Advanced Retinol + Ferulic Texture Renewal Serum for over ten days and loving the results. I have normal to dry skin that is acne prone. At this moment, my skin not only feels velvety soft to the touch, but my complexion looks bright and clear! I've definitely noticed a healthy transformation in the condition of how my skin was..to how it has improved now. I’m in high school (sophomore) and I regularly check in with my dermatologist. During middle school and freshman year I was using the retinol that was prescribed to me. I don’t have acne but it was destroying my skin and making things worse, I expressed that to her and she said it takes time for things to work. I had been using the products for four years so I took it upon myself to make my own skincare/makeup routine. This is the retinol I had researched and is what I now use! obviously this one product wont completely transform your skin but it works extremely well. The only thing is YOU HAVE TO WEAR SUNSCREEN EVERYDAY even if you only use it once a week it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun and can cause more pores and acne worse if you don’t wear sunscreen. I use Eltamd spf 46 (i wish Sephora sold it). I would give this retinol 10/10 for effectiveness and being gentle on the skinabbyculver

I rarely write a review, mainly because we are different and react different to anything and everything. I've tried plenty of repair creams, serums, lotions. You name it I tried it, from the "perfect" no so expensive to some of the most expensive on the market. In a combination with another brand moisturizer I definitely see improvement. Some will be lucky to tolerate and see results, some will not like it, or it might just not work for them . I recommend you try, is worth it. I absolutely love this moisturizer. I have fair skin with freckles and I develop dark spots easily, and this product effectively brightens and evens my skin tone after just one use, especially when using in conjunction with the exfoliating scrub. I have sensitive skin and tend to break out with some skin care products, but have had no issues whatsoever with this. I use it every other night, alternating with Kate Somerville's liquid exfolikate. It smells nice and fresh and feels wonderful on my skin.Sarah S.
Have used many different skincare products over the years, including this brand, with no skin reactions or sensitivity. BUT … Kate's retinol products caused my fact to break out in an acnelike sensitivity that took a week to resolve. Wasn't sure it was the result of these products so tried them again (have used other retinol pdts before w/no reactions) over 4 more weeks w/same result. Don't know what is in her products beyond retinol but whatever it is know that it is CAN cause a major dermatological outbreak. I threw all of my newly purchased Kate retinol products away! BIG waste of $$$. Live and learn. Bummer!! In retrospect would only try samples first of any new skincare products. I’ve only used it tonight for the first time & I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, after about 10 mins my whole face looked slightly lighter & the melasma mask-like patches on my forehead & under my eyes less intense & brown. I’ve tried I feel everything from vit c to retinol to glycolic & lactic acids to peels, micro needling & an led face therapy mask with barely any success, and with the intense sun this summer in the uk, even using spf 30+ everyday it’s still found a way to increase. It’s fair to say I’m grinning from ear to ear, thank you the Inkey List 🙏💗 I also left it a good 30mins or so before applying my night cream like they say. First gel serum I’ve ever used & I was pleasantly surprised at how silky it was to apply. I can’t wait to apply abit more tomorrow morning. Lately I’ve been experiencing redness, flakiness, tightness and increased breakouts and rashes all over my face due to over exfoliation. Thankfully, this product was here to help my poor skin. So what are ceramides? Ceramides are lipids that help form the skin’s barrier and help skin retain moisture. Without the proper ratio of ceramides, the skin’s barrier can become compromised, leading to dryness, itching and irritation. There are also researches that indicate that ceramides are actually helpful anti-aging agents. This powerful, ovenight mask works to hydrate parched skin whilst ensuring skin is nourished and visibly plumper when you wake up. This product offers an amazing hydration combo, containing 3% Multi Ceramide Complex and 2.5% Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Acid. It also contains humectants such as butylene glycol and glycerin, as well as amino acids and anti-acne ingredients like physosphinogosine. Sodium Lactate is also included, which regulates the ph levels of the skin, a much needed action for when our skin barrier is compromised. The ceramides strengthen the skin’s barrier by forming a protective layer that limits moisture loss, and the multi molecular hyaluronic acid hydrates deeper into skin’s layers. Of course this is a paraben, sulfate, alcohol and silicone free product. It’s also vegan and cruelty free. This product costs 16,65€ for 30ml, which in my opinion is totally worth it. I don't use this on my face, but I've been using it on my legs after an accident that left me with multiple scars (nothing deep or raised, but confidence-knocking all the same). 3 months (as suggested) has improved the texture and discolouration of my skin to the point where you can barely tell it was ever wounded. I'm snow-pale so this is an impressive result. Be consistent and it works. Texture is silky and lightweight, too, which just feels nice to apply when you're feeling down about your skin. Only downside is the pump – it's a great value product but I still hate throwing out the bottle without being able to scoop out the last scraps of it!L

Honest review from a real person. Was on a business trip and ran out of my face lotion. Was looking for something travel size, moisturizing (without all the chemicals and fragrance) and not too expensive. I settled for this because it always promotes even skin tone. The product DID NOT moisturize my face at all. To the point where my sling felt dry and you couldn’t even see dry patches. Mind you, I don’t have dry skin. But it’s a little chilly out so I could use the extra moisture. But my goodness.Disappointed
I wanted to purchase a daily lotion to use under my makeup that would also treat my dark spots. I also wanted to purchase from a black-founded product line. Unfortunately, this lotion just doesn't feel like anything special. It's quite drying after application, my skin does not feel moisturized at all. The Lotion itself is also somewhat runny. Love Shea Moisture’s Even & Radiant Raw Honey Dark Spot Correcting Serum. I have acne prone skin that has left behind several dark marks on my face, and with my daily use of acne cleansers, my skin is often left dry and dull looking. However, after incorporating this serum within my daily skincare regimen, I have notice my skin is much smoother and vibrant looking, with some of the newer dark marks already visibly improving. Since using this product, I haven’t had any issues with it clogging my pores, or causing additional issues with my skin. I bought this cream as an alternative to retinol because retinol causes redness and irritation to my skin. The first couple of nights I used this cream, I was in awe because it felt so good as a moisturizer. However, a few days later my face had noticeable red blotches. I thought maybe it was the cream doing its job of chemically removing old skin cells to generate new ones. But the irritation, skin peeling, and redness after 4 nights of use became even worse and now my skin burns when touched. I used this cream at night and the Roc Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Daily Moisturizer in the morning. I will be returning these products and advise against purchasing these creams if you have sensitive skin or sensitivity to retinol.Rocky
