20 Best Products For Uneven Skin Tone (Feb 2023 Update)

Works quickly and gently on my stubborn, years old dark spots and hyperpigmentation that I haven't been able to get off with lactic acid, mandelic acid, or glycolic acid. I'm black with extremely sensitive, hyper-pigmentation prone skin with years of hyperpigmentation that I haven't been able to remove with other products. This is fading acne-related spots from over a decade ago and I'm able to see results overnight. It's so expensive that I wouldn't have tried it if I didn't get a free sample first. I was really shocked at how well it works, considering the lower rating. I can literally see a visible difference overnight or by the end of the day when I apply it in the morning. The one drawback is that the formula is packed with silicone. There's way too much in it. When I apply it straight, I can end up just rolling the silicone off. That's fine but I have to thin the serum down with milky essences when applying during the day – even then it's easy for it to pill. I'll still give it five stars just because of how amazingly fast it works on old super dark spots and how gentle it is. I haven't been able to get rid of my dark spots, partially because my skin is too sensitive to use lactic or glycolic acids at high concentrations and is already very sun sensitive on its own. I'm combining it with alpha arbutin and niacinamide from the ordinary and tranexamic acid from the Inkey list and it's working even faster. This serum does all the heavy lifting while the others help boost my overall skin's appearance. It's my most expensive skincare product even though I bought it on one of the 30% off sales, but I don't mind paying that price. My hyperpigmentation right now is lighter than it used to look after I would cover it up with concealer and foundation and still have some showing through. Plus zero rashes or sensitivity. Love it. I have sun spots/hyperpigmentation that began about 6 years ago with a quarter-sized spot on my forehead, but has now spread to both cheeks and above my lips, with dark splotches that create a mustache-like shadow. I started using this product 2x daily, once in the morning and once at night, after cleansing and before applying my moisturizer and it took around 3 months to finish the bottle (I bought the largest size). One con is that my skin feels very slick after I used the product, like I've used a silicone-based primer. But! I would rather deal with a strange-feeling product that mustache-looking hyperpigmentation so I pressed on. I didn't notice any difference with the hyperpigmentation for about the first month, but after that I began noticing a big difference on my cheeks as the large splotches started looking as though they were "breaking apart"… they were actually shrinking quite a lot. By the end of the second month, the change was dramatic and even moreso by the time I finished the bottle – my apples of cheeks matched the rest of my skin tone for the first time in years. Coincidentally, I finished the bottle on the same day we finally had nice sunny weather and I spent several hours outside working on our backyard renovation. Even though I used 50+ SPF sunscreen that said it was formulated specifically for people with hyperpigmentation, by the end of the day two splotches on each cheek had noticeably, dramatically darkened. I did some reading and learned that those of us with melisma/hyperpigmentation/sun spots need to use a mineral barrier sunscreen rather than a chemical barrier sunscreen, especially when using products that are working to fade the hyperpigmentation. Apparently the chemical-barrier formulas can react with other products and create more pigmentation. Lesson learned! I'm going to get a second bottle of this and pair with a mineral barrier sunscreen and a brimmed hat the next time I'm in the sun. I've felt increasingly insecure about my blotchy skin tone and don't want to undo the progress this product has made.Christina

Bought this for my acne hyperpigmentation after seeing all the great reviews. I have hormonal acne which usually means that I break out on a monthly based around that time of the month. However, I got prescribed medication for this earlier this year and I barely every break out anymore. So I introduced this serum into my skincare now that it's clearer to start working on those marks. I first tried this for about 3 weeks and was breaking out constantly so I gave it a break and thought maybe it's another serum I started around the same time. So I waited a month to try this again and I put some twice in a row at night only and woke up with crazy acne. I literally take medication that internally controls my acne so I knew what I had used externally was the problem. Not sure what it is with the serum but it was the culprit of my random breakouts. I wish it had worked for me but I couldn't try it long enough, I don't have the time to deal with bumps right now and don't really want new scarring either.Nicolep

This is an update to my review in August. My first bottle was purchased in June of 2021. I had EXTREMELY bad hyperpigmentation. When I used the combo of the Niacinamide toner and this serum, in 6-8 weeks, my skin was completely cleared up. After the serum was gone, I used the toner a few times a week, because it was all I needed with my clear skin. I’m a picker when I’m under stress, so I purchased another set last month and I knew after a few weeks, something was definitely different. The results weren’t the same. I know this formula has changed. I’m sure you don’t care, but this was the first serum that I found that worked for African American dark skin. Reading some of the reviews, I’m quite sure that you don’t listen to your customers, as I see plenty have stated that they’ve experienced minimal results and you haven’t changed it back to the original formula. Although the claim by the company is that you’ve improved the formula, you didn’t. Sometimes, stronger isn’t better, especially when there’s a breakdown in the quality of this new formulation. This has been one of the best serums I have ever used on my skin!! I have a history of horrific acne, and as it’s been clearing up, this has been a game changer for my routine. With consistent use, I see results within weeks, and this is coming from someone who has tried EVERYTHING. I dermarolled, got frequency facials, changed my diet, took tons of supplements, natural facials, all kinds of chemical facials, and have used countless products for treating my acne and the hyperpigmentation scars left behind, and nothing has worked as well as this has for me. If you’re hesitant, just give it a try (and give it time to work)! Acne is so frustrating already, and even worse what it leaves behind, so be patient, show your skin some TLC, cut down on the number of products you use and just focus on the basics. I have hyperpigmentation along with acne scars so I was excited and curious about using this. I don't love the strong lavender smell it has honestly but after trying it for over a week, I decided it's something I can put up with because I have noticed a improvement with my skin. I was afraid the scent would irritate my sensitive skin but it didn't. I was skeptical about how moisturizing it would be because of the texture of it and because you apply a thin layer on. I used to to the Palmer's Acne Soap bar, but during pandemic I had trouble getting more. So I tried Neutrogena products (the water based line since I have OILY skin) my skin got WORSE. I had very big breakouts all over my face and neck. It hurt and it was terrible. I ready your skin has to purge when you switch facecare products. I kept looking to see when the acne var would be available again. So in the meantime I got SO many Palmer's products. I now use the Skin Success line: Deep Cleaning Astringent, Complexion Toner, Anti-Acne Medicated Complexion Bar, Anti Dark Spot Complexion Bar, Dark Spot Correcting Facial Cleanser, Anti Dark Spot Fade Cream for Oily skin during the day and the Anti Dark Spot Fade Cream for Night. I even use the Skin Therapy Face Oil and the Moisture Rich Night Cream. I started feeling real relief at the 4 week mark or reincorporating these products. I'm a POC who gets hyperpigmentation almost anytime I have a significant breakout. I haven't seen results from niacinamide in the past, but I'd tried and liked a few FAB products, so I gave this a try when it popped up as an option for my Ipsy bag. Some spots that would normally take months to fade have noticeably diminished in just a few weeks of use twice daily (and I'm not someone who does a great job of remembering every time, either). I did break out a little when I first started using it (common with niacinamide from what I've heard). The pigmentation from that outbreak is much less than I usually get. I purchased this because I had some dark acne scars and I was hoping that it would help to heal my post breakout skin. It has worked wonders! It has been almost a month and I’ve seen a significant improvement. I love that it is really healing and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Don’t get me wrong, this is a natural product and I was expecting that it may take some time to fully clear up all of the dark marks since I didn’t want a synthetic product and I’ve struggled with acne scarring for a long time. Been using this for about 1 month now, and I can say it has improved my hyper pigmentation and some sun spots, but just barely. I've seen some improvement, but nothing major. Niacinamide and Licorice Root are the two star ingredients here, and I think with continued use, you might see some results. My beef with this product is mostly with the packaging and the amount of product. The dropper just isn't great. When you first start using it, there's enough product in there for the dropper, but once you use more of it, it becomes harder to suction the product. The next thing is the lid. Everytime you place the dropper back, product is caught in the small opening and gets oozzed on the side. It goes to waste when there's already little of this product to being with. I've been scooping the dropper before I place it back, but sometimes I wonder if I'm contaminating the dropper. Overall, decent formulation, horrible packaging. I have to say the reviews surprised me. I've been using this serum with my routine for 3 weeks now and can only say good things. My skin is very dry and dehydrated. I'm in my 40s with some old sun damage and fine lines and my goal was to help heal my pregnancy melasma and help texture and lines. I use a korean essense first, followed by this niacinamide serum, vitamin c serum, a moisturizing ceramide toner and a moisturizing sunscreen every day and use a peptide-cerimide mousurizer unstead of sunscreen at night. The only thing I changed 3 weeks ago was switching out my old hyaluronic acid serum for this product. My skin is glowing. Im noticing a slow decrease in the extra texture and "patchiness" and keep getting complimented by friends who see it too. I saw a change after my 2nd time.

I too have fallen for the Niacinamide fad that had happened on Insta and have tried my share of different Niacinamide serums. The @naturium serum is by far my favorite stand alone Niacinamide product. It checks off everything in the box, high percentage, formulated with Zinc, works well with layering. It shows a visible difference in my skin when used consistently. The other ingredients include, Propanediol, Glycerin, Zinc PCA, Vitamin E, by and Sodium Hyaluronate. Zinc is supposedly an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and regulates oil. It also shows to protect and aid in wound healing and regeneration. I've been struggling with acne and mainly acne scars for about 3 years now. I've tried different kinds of medication, different kinds of skincare products and so many other methods, and nothing worked. I wouldn't say this magically cleared my skin up, but it did help my acne scars fade a lot more. I saw the dermatologist at the beginning of the pictures, and somehow it made my skin worse and hurt a lot. I decided to stop seeing the dermatologist and started using this instead. let me start by saying I've had a very troubled skin since i was a kid which leaves me with very scarred face, full of red, purple and brown marks which take months or years to fade (despite using various products, hydrating cleansing exfoliating, you name it). I have been religiously using this serum every day (once or twice a day, it depends) for two weeks now and oh boy, it works wonders! My dark ugly marks are starting to fade and new ones appear less agitated and heal much faster than they used to. I am still on the hunt to find the perfect moisturizer for me and I've happened to find this in my collection. I used it on a whim and my first impression was that this was the weirdest smelling moisturizer I've ever put on my face. I seriously smells like the mixture of subtle sunscreen and SALAMI (yes, salami lol). I couldn't get over the smell because it lingers for quite some time. After getting over the smell, the moisturizer itself is good! Right now, my skin is extremely dry due to the mixture of my own skin problems (probably eczema) and the dry weather, so this moisturizer was perfect. At first I was worried because when I applied it, it had the greasy film feeling where the moisturizer seems to be sitting on your skin, but once you give it a little bit of time, it will sink in and leave your skin feeling soft. The bonus is that it has an SPF of 20, so I wear this as my day time moisturizer. I'm still not sure about the skin tone correcting part of the moisturizer because I haven't used this product long enough to see any difference on my skin, but so far I am liking it…except for the smell. This isn't really a product I would immediately recommend to a friend, but it's not a product I would tell someone to keep away from. Since I got a sample of this, I'm not too concerned about the price, but looking at the price now, it is quite expensive for a "good" moisturizer. I would probably invest in another moisturizer considering the price tag for this product. The product really works to create clear smooth complexion. It eliminated my dark spots and kept them away. They must have changed the ingredients. This cream is horrible for my skin and its fragrance free. It's greasy I can feel it on my face and it broke me out!!! I used to be obsessed with the even better line my sister also but now they changed the ingredients in it. Now I use the Beauty Stat line and it is amazing!! I have age spots acne scars sun damage and a little wrinkles they are magically disappearing and I have not even been using for a month yet. The vitamin c serum is a little sticky so make sure that your face is a little damp before applying. The only reason why I even attempt to try Beauty Stat because the guy used to be a chemist for Clinique and the even better line was amazing for my skin maybe it changed after he left? This product is AMAZING, BUT there is a caveat. Often times when I buy this product it seems spoiled, like how vitamin C can go bad if not kept correctly. The product should be a light orangey color, but when it's gone off it's a darker orange. I've used this for years and return it before I even walk out of the store most times because I know to check to see if it is bad/old/whatever is going on with it. If you do get a good bottle, you'll be writing a great review, trust me. But if I got my first bottle or two and it was sticky and smelled odd, and didn't do what others claimed it would, of course I would be skeptical too. 75% of the bottles I buy, whether Sephora or Ulta, are always bad. This is one of those products that you didn't know you needed until you try it. This is a very high quality serum that I received a sample of. My skin is mature with fine lines, very dry, and prone to acne breakouts. As instructed I placed three or four drops in my hand and applied it to my face. It easily spread over my skin and my skin absorbed it quickly and it left it feeling extremely smooth It even looked better after the first application. So far I really love what I'm seeing with this product. I applied a light nighttime moisturizer afterwards so far I have not broken out and my skin already looks a lot better. I am someone who takes care of their skin or at least I thought I was but this product may be something that I will add to my regimen. It contains some wonderful anti-aging properties such as vitamin c and retinol. I got this sample of Multi-Action Super-C Retinol Brighten and Correct Vitamin C Serum from @strivectin months ago I've been using it for over a couple of months, so now it's time to give my honest opinion. I'm usually incredibly sensitive to Retinol, so I was hesitant about trying this at first. It's actually very, very gentle. Idk the % of Retinol, but I did start off slowly. I used it 2X a week, then built up to 3-4X a week. I do feel a slight warming sensation after applying it, but it does go away after about 5 min or less. The serum has a strong scent to it, like a strong citrus type scent, but it does go away after about 2 mins. It's a thick, orange serum that will feel tacky at first, but it does absorb into your skin. I put on toner first, then this serum, then a thick, moisturizing cream to keep my skin calm. I have noticed a more even texture to my skin my skin just looks overall more healthy than it did before. I have quite a bit of serum left (you only need a drop or 2), so if any changes happen, I'll update. Note: I had absolutely NO purging, dryness or redness when using this serum. If you're not used to Retinol, start off slowly. 1-2X a week, then work your way up. When I was taking pictures for the eye products recent pos, I noticed how many new dark spots I have gotten and how uneven my skin was… I use sunscreen daily but I spend time outside and the sun is very strong where we live. I had to come up with a new skin regimen to address this issue: I have been using a brightening serum every morning and a brightening mask a couple of times a week. I am loving my results with the @esteelauder Perfectionist Pro Rapid Brightening Treatment. I can’t say that all my spots are completely erased (some of them will require a more invasive treatment at a dermatologist office) but there are less spots and the ones I still have are definitely lighter. I love the product a bit pricey but I was lucky I got it cheap on black Friday. I have pigmentation and I took pics before and after. The product is amazing, it lightened my pigmentation after 3 uses, although I must admit I have not been consistent, but it's worth every penny, my skin is glowing and a little clearer. This is an excellent product for my skin, it truly makes a difference to the texture and clarity of my 59 year old skin. I have used many serums and this one is one of the best and still reasonably priced for what it does for my skin. I saw the difference every time I ran out of the product so now i have at least one spare bottle. The reward system on EL website is also very nice, so I now wait for the gift time to make a purchase. Of all EL products this is the one I am most dependent on and would hate it to be superseded by another product. I had been buying the UFO oil for a few years and while I liked how it felt on my skin, I didn't notice a huge difference. My mom let me try her Good Genes one time and I loved the instant plumping effect and dewy finish. I ended up splurging on my own bottle and so far it's definitely been worth it. I have ridiculously finicky skin that breaks out if the wind blows the wrong way but I haven't had any issues with this product (or any Sunday Riley products for that matter). I've been using Good Genes for a few months now and it seems to have helped even my skin tone. I'm 22 so I bought it to just generally improve the appearance of my skin, but my mom really likes using it in combination with a retinol for wrinkles. The main thing I love is that immediate improvement you can see– the day after using it, my skin is always bouncy and glowing. I use it a few times a week, and I don't need too much to cover my face and neck, so I think the bottle will probably last me a while. Either way, I think it's worth it. The reviews are true. This is amazing stuff. It helps to keep my complexion nice, free and clear of zits. But you definitely need to do a double cleanse before applying oils and serums, and layering this on top. It has a bit of a strong smell with thick consistency, and definitely stings until you get used to it. I was unsure but it took about 10 days for me to start seeing results. This is definitely something that sensitive skin folks will have to build up to, I used to use it every other day as part of my nighttime skin care routine. Now I use it every day, morning and night. It sloughs dead skin cells off very gently, and works really well under moisturizer. My skin looks fresher, younger, and my acne seems to be more under control. I have several different sizes of it, including the super jumbo size that I bought during a holiday sale at Macy’s.rosie.k

When I discovered this line and this product years ago I was hooked. Good genes was exactly what the doctor ordered when it came to my skin. It was lovely and worked so well. Skin was dewy, brighter, hydrated and my skin looked better and better. Makeup set perfectly on top of it. I could tolerate it from the first smear. I showed it daily and stocked up during sales. NOT THE NEW FORMULA. I don't know what changed exactly. But first wear with this new formula and I broke out with cystic acne. Yes I know that hormones etc can cause cyclic cystic acne. But this was from the product. I even continued to use it with the same results. Then I even tried it as a mask with the clay cleanser thinking my skin somehow became too sensitive for good genes. Well the same acne came around again!. so disappointed… That's around the time when I realized they changed the product formula. It feels the same going on and my skin looks good and bright and hydrated like the old formula, But it has caused the worst cysts and acne on my face:(Killpretty

Bought Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfect Cream with the serum. Both on £10 Tuesday offer. There isn’t any cream that suit me or doesn’t give me pimples apart from Olay. I’m Olay user the 7 total effects day and night cream as they are the only I’m happy to spend that much money on a cream. I came from Philippines where Olay makes a whitening formula but couldn’t get it here in UK as Olay cater to tanning effect rather than whitening. I got this 2 days ago. I’ve used it twice. On a clean dry face and if I touch my face it just rolls off. So if it rolls off, and doesn’t absorb, then what benefit is my face getting from it? I bought another olay product in in a pump bottle and my skin was just as dry as before I used it. I’m so disappointed. Olay used to be a wonderful product that gave good results. My Mother used Olay. So I’ve used Olay. One more product that doesn’t live up to what I was used to…I will be looking for another brand. I used to love Olay!!Texas97

I rarely write a review, mainly because we are different and react different to anything and everything. I've tried plenty of repair creams, serums, lotions. You name it I tried it, from the "perfect" no so expensive to some of the most expensive on the market. In a combination with another brand moisturizer I definitely see improvement. Some will be lucky to tolerate and see results, some will not like it, or it might just not work for them . I recommend you try, is worth it. I absolutely love this moisturizer. I have fair skin with freckles and I develop dark spots easily, and this product effectively brightens and evens my skin tone after just one use, especially when using in conjunction with the exfoliating scrub. I have sensitive skin and tend to break out with some skin care products, but have had no issues whatsoever with this. I use it every other night, alternating with Kate Somerville's liquid exfolikate. It smells nice and fresh and feels wonderful on my skin.Sarah S.

Have used many different skincare products over the years, including this brand, with no skin reactions or sensitivity. BUT … Kate's retinol products caused my fact to break out in an acnelike sensitivity that took a week to resolve. Wasn't sure it was the result of these products so tried them again (have used other retinol pdts before w/no reactions) over 4 more weeks w/same result. Don't know what is in her products beyond retinol but whatever it is know that it is CAN cause a major dermatological outbreak. I threw all of my newly purchased Kate retinol products away! BIG waste of $$$. Live and learn. Bummer!! In retrospect would only try samples first of any new skincare products. I’ve only used it tonight for the first time & I couldn’t quite believe my eyes, after about 10 mins my whole face looked slightly lighter & the melasma mask-like patches on my forehead & under my eyes less intense & brown. I’ve tried I feel everything from vit c to retinol to glycolic & lactic acids to peels, micro needling & an led face therapy mask with barely any success, and with the intense sun this summer in the uk, even using spf 30+ everyday it’s still found a way to increase. It’s fair to say I’m grinning from ear to ear, thank you the Inkey List 🙏💗 I also left it a good 30mins or so before applying my night cream like they say. First gel serum I’ve ever used & I was pleasantly surprised at how silky it was to apply. I can’t wait to apply abit more tomorrow morning. For anyone with stubborn Melasma (mines been there for 2-3 years now, due to medication & hormones) I can’t recommend this product enough! Lately I’ve been experiencing redness, flakiness, tightness and increased breakouts and rashes all over my face due to over exfoliation. Thankfully, this product was here to help my poor skin. So what are ceramides? Ceramides are lipids that help form the skin’s barrier and help skin retain moisture. Without the proper ratio of ceramides, the skin’s barrier can become compromised, leading to dryness, itching and irritation. There are also researches that indicate that ceramides are actually helpful anti-aging agents. I don't use this on my face, but I've been using it on my legs after an accident that left me with multiple scars (nothing deep or raised, but confidence-knocking all the same). 3 months (as suggested) has improved the texture and discolouration of my skin to the point where you can barely tell it was ever wounded. I'm snow-pale so this is an impressive result. Be consistent and it works. Texture is silky and lightweight, too, which just feels nice to apply when you're feeling down about your skin. Only downside is the pump – it's a great value product but I still hate throwing out the bottle without being able to scoop out the last scraps of it!L

Honest review from a real person. Was on a business trip and ran out of my face lotion. Was looking for something travel size, moisturizing (without all the chemicals and fragrance) and not too expensive. I settled for this because it always promotes even skin tone. The product DID NOT moisturize my face at all. To the point where my sling felt dry and you couldn’t even see dry patches. Mind you, I don’t have dry skin. But it’s a little chilly out so I could use the extra moisture. But my goodness.Disappointed

I wanted to purchase a daily lotion to use under my makeup that would also treat my dark spots. I also wanted to purchase from a black-founded product line. Unfortunately, this lotion just doesn't feel like anything special. It's quite drying after application, my skin does not feel moisturized at all. The Lotion itself is also somewhat runny. Love Shea Moisture’s Even & Radiant Raw Honey Dark Spot Correcting Serum. I have acne prone skin that has left behind several dark marks on my face, and with my daily use of acne cleansers, my skin is often left dry and dull looking. However, after incorporating this serum within my daily skincare regimen, I have notice my skin is much smoother and vibrant looking, with some of the newer dark marks already visibly improving. Since using this product, I haven’t had any issues with it clogging my pores, or causing additional issues with my skin. Definitely a great product for those dealing with post acne marks or dull looking skin. I would highly recommend it.Kimberly90

This is certainly overpriced for what it is, but it’s worth it if you wait for a sale. There are cheaper OTC azelaic acid products but they just aren’t formulated as nicely as this. Every once in a while, I’ll find a little granule in this cream, but it’s otherwise quite smooth and emollient. I would caution that it’s easy to overapply because of how creamy and lovely it feels. I have very sensitive and dry skin, and this doesn’t dry me out! My skin does flush sometimes after application. I find the flushing is worse if I go right in with an occlusive layer on top — perhaps the occlusive layer traps a bit of heat? I apply this at night after lightweight essence or serum, then I wait a half hour or so. Then I follow up with a richer cream to lock it all in. Works beautifully for me! Time will tell if it helps with hyperpigmentation, but so far no adverse reactions.Christa

If you have Rosacea pustules constantly – GET THIS! I have been struggling with my skin for so long and the last few months have been unbearable – so much so – I gave in and went back to a Dermatologist, which in the past never seemed to help and only make matter worse. I am 44, sales professional that travels for work at least 1 week a month for face to face events. I couldn't take it anymore of trying to hide or have my confidence shot because of my skin. I have normal/combo skin that's prone to breakouts so because of that I have several dark spots from previous breakouts as well as some dullness, fine lines and enlarged pores. I was pleasantly surprised by the texture of the product as it is a nice thick cream that spreads over skin in a silky smooth layer. It makes it really nice for using on its own as well as mixed with moisturizer. I've used this both ways depending on which skincare products I'm using for the day and I've found it to work well regardless of how I choose to apply it. There's no discernible scent and despite being quite thick it doesn't go on heavy. After two weeks on consistent use most of my dark spots have faded to the point that they're not very noticeable and my texture has evened out considerably. The enlarged pores on my cheeks have appeared smaller and less clogged looking. My skin definitely looks like it has more clarity and a glow. The versatility of this product is awesome and I found it didn't aggravate my skin at all either.ItsLP

I've been plagued by sensitive/reactive/difficult skin for most of my adult life and received diagnoses that range from acne through peri-oral dermatitis to, most recently, rosacea. Even dermtologists don't seem to be sure what the problem is. Al I can definitely say is that azealic acid is great at calming things down. It's not miraculous: it has taken more than six months' of usage for me to see a marked improvement but, in my opinion, it works to reduce inflammation, smooth texture and even pigmentation. I apply it (generously) only at night because it is just one layer too many during the daytime, under sun protection cream and foundation. It may have a quicker effect for those who use for an entire 24 hours. For reference, I can't tolerate any form I've so far tried of retinolid but the azealic acid has never irritated my skin.. I use it in combination with niacinimide on spot-prone areas. A month agao I stopped taking the long term antibiotic I was prescribed for its anti-inflammatory rather than anti-microbial effect because it never worked very consistently or well on its own, and because I was worried about the side effects. The positive results from the azaelic acid have given me the confidence to bin the pills and – so far – my face is doing fine.Jeremiad

This has been a life saver while pregnant. I haven't had much acne in my life but when I got pregnant it seemed to flare up worse than ever. A lot of the other products I would use for other skincare concerns or sporadic acne I was unable to use while pregnant. I first bought the smaller size which is only 10 dollars then the large size for 20. It does not get any better than that. The large tube has lasted me two months so far and still has a ton left in it. I definitely can't use this product alone because it can go on a little dry., I do have dryer skin though. The ordinary always delivers with the bests price and quality products that work. I love how the products are simple, no fragarance and takes most of the guessing out of the equation. Sometimes the brand can be confusing when knowing what products to buy or mix but this is a product that can mix with pretty much everything if not everything (I don't know of anything it does not layer well with. As a preface, I'm trying to cut out actives from my routine that are for proactive prevention, and am substituting those for actives that address problems I currently have with my skin as my skin is sensitive. I bought this and used it every day for a week when I started breaking out on my forehead, chin, and cheeks. Most of my acne is on my cheeks, but breaking out on my forehead and chin was new so I knew it was because of this product. I really want to love this since I know azelaic acid is good for both active acne and acne scars. I followed the instructions on the box and applied this after serums and before moisturizers. The only other active I use at the moment is niacinamide (and propolis, not sure if that counts as an active ingredient), see my routine below for more details. Any tips or suggestions from fellow acne-prone/sensitive skin people would be greatly appreciated! My routine ATM- Gel-based face wash Hydrating toner Serum with propolis and niacinamide (Would put this suspension here when I used it) Moisturizer. I received this product complimentary from Influenster to test out. I love that this product is especially made to help skin with more melanin! This product is not only gorgeous to look at but has also transformed my skin! This serum feels luxurious. The 2 part serum mixes together and creates a unique orange serum. The combined serum absorbs well without feeling sticky. It's a thin liquid, so I only need a few drops to do the trick. My skin has evened out beautifully and feels hydrated. I actually enjoyed the concept behind this. It has this cool dropper. Like, it's locked in place and feels leak proof. Then you twist it and it opens slowly, but you give it that final twist and it opens fully to reveal a dope little dropper. The problem is, I think they needed to work on it a little more because mine isn't able to suck very much up. It smells faintly like citrus. I love the super orange color is has. It's also runny and thin. I'm still trying it, but it seems to lighten a little from the small amount of time I've been applying. I love this product! I love the look of the orange and pink! So cute I don't even want to shake it but it goes right back to the orange and pink once you shake it. I love how easy this product is to use. Open it and I came across a little button at the top that pops up and its easy to control the amount I put into my face with the dropper. The product smells great! Has more of an aroma but that's okay to me. I rub the serum all over my face and it is a bit more oily for my liking because I already have combo skin. Makes my face extra shiny. I have noticed a slight change in my dark spots. I'm hoping to see less dark spots the more that I use this product. I decided to incorporate Vitamin C into my skin care routine again after a few years of not using it because I hadn't seen any results with past K-beauty Vitamin C essences. Melano CC was crowned by cosme in 2018 for being the best cosmetic release for the year and I CAN SEE WHY. This stuff is magic. I have lots of hyperpigmentation all over my face from acne and it has noticeably become lighter since I've incorporated it into my routine. Aside from lightening hyperpigmentation, Melano CC contains acne-fighting ingredients that prevent new pimples from forming and clears up pre-existing ones. My chin has been the most stubborn area to clear, but this stuff somehow managed to clear it up. It's so light and easy to use and like many other reviewers mentioned, it's completely wearable under make up. You also don't have to worry about it oxidizing because of its ingenious tube-like droplet design. Honestly my holy grail Vitamin C. I'm never buying anything else.Kat L.

Lasts a while! I love this one. I have oily skin but it does not feel or look oily. I think people just apply it in ways that might not work best for them. I use 5-6 drops for my whole face, and even neck (I have a pretty wide face haha!). I find that it helps with my hyperpigmentation for regular use!!! Consistency is oilier than water-like. I warm it up between my palms and then press on to my skin. Absorbs quickly. I sometimes spot treat on top of this when it comes to more stubborn hyperpigmentation or fresher ones. It does work better for newer makers than older one, but it helps both in my opinion… Took about 10 days to come once order and shipped.John W.

I have used several vitamin C before because its very good ingredient for anti-oxidant and brightening effect but all vitamin C I have used before all broke me out even those that the brand claimed as "gentle". I used this on recommendation of my fav youtuber. Sure, the percentage of the vitamin C of this product is very low but at least I can use this everyday without breaking out. It does work at fading hyperpigmentation and evening out skin tone, you just have to be patient because it does work very slowly. I didn't notice any difference on my hyperpigmentation until about 4-5 mos of using this product. I've just purchased the premium version of this product to up my vitamin C usage.Alyzza

I received Neostrata Products as a gift from Voxbox Australia and Neostrata. My partner and I have been now testing theses products for 3 weeks. Out of all the products I was sent in the #MeetNeostrataAU goodie box, this has to be my least favourite unfortunately. As I have been using actives and serums for a while now, I eliminated them for a period of time whilst trying this Bionic Face Serum. To say the tacky texture of this product annoyed me would be an understatement. It did not have a nice feel when applying and it felt like I was lathering my face in glue! I had to wait for a minimum of at least 5 mins before the serum sunk in before I could get on with the rest of my routine, not good when in a rush in the morning so I left it to put on at night. This is formulated to visibly correct signs of aging and dullness. I admittedly do not have any deep wrinkles or fine lines but I was hoping to see some improvements in the texture of my skin and clarity. Given that I do use a serum with a higher percentage of retinol, this product didn't really do much for myself, though it is a good starter for someone wanting to introduce it into their routine, as it does contain Retinyl Palmitate, albeit a low percentage as it is quite low in the ingredients list. If you can withstand the tackiness of this serum and are new to the world of actives and serums, this would be a good product to start with as I did not break out and it did not irritate my rosacea skinolisyah.a

I love this C+ complex. I've noticed brighter smoother skin. This result is also due to the fact I use many revision products. Love how I can use the vitamin C my revision day cream and the hydrating serum as a cocktail for my skin. Saves time. The nectafirm is also wonderful. Decided to try this in place of my SkinCeuticals Vit C serum for oily skin. This is a nice rich lotion. No irritation/breakouts/pore clogs. My skin is a little too oily for this, as it didn't feel like it fully absorbed. I use other products in my routine, so with this being on the thicker side, I didn't use moisturizer. It was a good moisturizing agent to use nightly on top of tretinoin, though.Mary
