20 Best Products To Bleach Hair (Feb 2023 Update)

So I bought this to bleach a wig that I bought. I previously bleached the wig the same day but it still wasn’t bright enough. I used three boxes and the hair was long and I didn’t leave it on for the recommended time on the instructions. This did exactly what I needed it to do. I think i will start buying this for my own hair. It’s a one stop shop. I wasn’t looking for the color in the box, but just a light blonde color. If i would have left it on longer, it most likely would’ve gave me that color.Melanie

I bought this because I LOVE Dark and Lovely’s Hair dyes for women of color, so when I saw this I had to get a box!!! Works well (works waaaaaaay better for virgin hair of course) even though my hair has been blonde to black to blonde a few times. This kit still lifts the color!!! like??? okay purr. Did a great job at bleaching the hair. Color came out even, however hair was EXTREMELY dry after rinsing…… BUT that said, the toner included infused so much moisture back into my strands I was thoroughly impressed. It did relax my curl pattern slightly, however all my natural curls are still intact. I did half my hair using the bottle in the kit, which was fine, but the other half I put in a bowl and applied with a applicator brush (just because it seemed quicker and would give a more even bleach job). I love this powder bleach for lightening and bleaching hair at home. I do my own hair, as well as my daughter and friends and other family members and I have done so for many years…so I have tried many different brands and types of bleach and this has always given me the best results. It is simple enough for anyone to follow the directions and do on themselves or someone else. I do recommend though if you are doing your hair at home to ALWAYS first do a small test strip of hair just to make sure your hair can handle it before you put through your entire hair. Then I would do a lot of research of the products you are using and reading all directions carefully and fully a few times before getting started and also it never hurts to watch a few YouTube videos. Research the brands you are using as well and see what others have said about them, it will really make a difference when finding the best items for you to use on your hair at home. This was one of the first brands of lighteners, that I can remember, who added the blue tint to the formula- which is intended to fight against that yellow/gold look when you get hi-lites or bleach your hair. I haven’t used it in years bc they have came out with some amazing quality lighteners… but it’s not terrible. If you’re shopping at Sally’s, I’d say this is a good choice. They do not lie, this is fast acting (so work smart, but quickly), this will lift up to 7 shades. Quick Blue does have a nice, creamy consistency you can use this for both on scalp and off. I personally don’t recommend using this product as a DIY if you are not 100% comfortable… but if you like to live life on the edge, use the L’Oréal developer maybe not go higher than 20 volume:)lacey.k

This is the best lightener out there. I recommend this one before trying others. I constantly bleach my hair as I never have it my natural hair color. I dye it fun colors all the time. I don't know why I never learn from my past mistakes but this is the third time I've used this bleach and it will definitely be the last time. I spent about two years leaving my hair alone to grow our naturally and didn't bother to color it. This bleach was the only one I could find in the store at the time and this just didn't do anything for me. It smells awful, there isn't enough for a full head, and the anti brass purple conditioner is a genuine joke. I'm going to try something else to bleach my hair this week but I'm hoping this review will save people from making the same mistake I did. Just don't do it. Find something else. The instructions are clear and I am very appreciative on being able to have everything needed for the incredible price. This kit is dummy-proof. I had no experience in dying my hair prior to using this kit and I achieved the look I was going for. My hair is dark brown and there was no previous bleach or dye in it. I used the sectioned ponytail method and I did not tease the hair. I wrapped each ponytail in foil after fully saturating each one. I left the product on for the full 45 minutes and did check for color lift/change at 30 minutes. I used the included comb to apply the product as well as the conditioner. I have medium short hair, but I have an undercut so one bottle was enough for me. If I had a full head of hair and longer, I would probably have needed another bottle.DIYmumprof

What a mess. The black ink smears all over the bottle when you are mixing/processing/applying to you hair. Gloves are a must! It dried out my hair so I’m pretty sad. I had been using another product prior to color my hair but I wanted to try a new one and it dried out my hair & some hair was/is light orange and the rest white blonde. So terrible! I’ve been doing my own hair for 15 yrs so I know what I’m doing. When you shake the product and remove the lid it explodes all over. Went all over my bathroom wall & porcelain sink. Thin product. This worked fantastic! Not only that, it smelled nice, and had GREAT directions! That’s super important when it comes to bleaching hair. I was able to lighten my daughters hair at least 7 shades for her to do her purple streak. I left it only a half hour because I didn’t want to break her hair off, so just imagine if I left it 15 more minutes for the total time?! I usually prefer doing my own hair as I do not like physical contact. I wanted to try bleaching my hair for the first time & got this because I thought, "Oh yeah, of course I want the maximum amount of lightening, so I can put bright colors over it." But when I told my hairdresser friend about it, she looked scared and said my hair would probably break off! I ended up getting the Lime Crime 20 volume kit but keeping this because it said it came with a brush, gloves, and a mixing bowl. The Lime Crime kit only had gloves, the bowl and brush/comb combo were extra. Well, I didn't open this box until the day of the bleaching, and it only had a brush, no gloves or bowl! I ended up mixing in a plastic Tupperware container with a plastic to-go spoon. I don't think they were accidentally forgotten either because there wasn't even room in the box for anything else. DO NOT BUY THIS! Go with the Lime Crime 20 volume. It still lightened my dark hair enough for bright colors but with no damage, and if you buy this "kit" you will still need to buy extra supplies anyway.Feeling conned

This stuff was so gentle that using it to correct poor lift from another brand-the following day!-resulted in no noticeable damage. No gummy hair, no breakage when combing, no unwillingness by the hair to evenly accept direct dye afterward. The formula went on evenly, easily, and lifted away all my pigment to exactly the color of the inside of a banana peel. I didn't suffer the burning others mentioned but I was careful not to apply directly to my scalp. My hair took about 35 minutes to get where it needed to be. Followed with green and blue dyes and they took like a dream! Post-processing, it's soft, shiny, and manageable. I went with Arctic Fox because people highly recommend it. Within 20 minutes of using it and only getting 1/4 of my head done, foamy liquid started dripping down my face. I avoided my roots to go back to them at the end but I had to rinse my hair out unfinished because the foamy liquid dripped down to my roots. Now my scalp is burned and I have hot roots. I don’t know if this is a defective batch or what, but now the top left side of my head is half processed and burned and I’m waiting for my salon appt on Friday to try to fix it before an important night. I wish I would have read the reviews before I used this. I have really reached an amazing blonde and I got this for my roots! I must admit the name was super catchy and I liked it had everything included with the notion that it was healthier for your hair. When I first started I should have known and stopped right away. The bleach was impossible to squeeze out and I never saw that before – there was a lot of mixture and it was runny. I read the instructions 3x before using to make sure this was right and no where did it warn of these things. I feel like if I would have let it set for 10 min and it got thicker and mousse like it work: I left in full 45 min on virgin hair and I knew it was awful before I washed out – super brassy and yellow. My hair doesn’t feel damaged or dried out but for something that advertises lift 8 levels – the full time and no where near lifted. I HAD dark blonde hair. Spent a week looking at products and I wanted to be Blonde not bleach blonde just light blonde. I picked this kit because it does contain BLEACH. BLEACH is the only way to lift hair color. I left on for an hour and I look like an orange pop. The max time is an hour. I called the 18006317358 number that is on the box and they are closed today because of the holiday. So, for now I am stuck with orange hair or go to a salon and spend money, lots of it for a hair color correction. A company like this should have someone on call 24/7 if your going to have a help line and sell boxed color at stores that are open 24 hours. People do need help after hours and on holidays. I went to sally's and they said bleach it again. I am scared to bleach again so soon. So today I will wear a hat and conditioner and wait for them to open tomorrow , to maybe give me some advice on what to do with this orange hair. First, I was very SKETPICAL to use this product, because I have only ever used Ion hair color from Sally’s in Lightest Cool Blonde. I decided to give this a shot, because of the high level of ratings on this product online. I also googled and checked Amazon reviews and checked reviews on the manufacturer’s website. All had like 80% of reviewers critiquing it as high. So, I gave it a shot…. I was not disappointed at all! I am naturally dirty blond/dishwater blond and my hair lifts to platinum blond easily. This color did exactly that. It lifted evenly and gave me very, very platinum blond hair like the white, ethereal color that I was wanting. The instructions were very easy to follow. The box recommends anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes. I left mine on for 20 minutes and then checked it. It had completely lifted to platinum. My hair was yellow… THIS IS NORMAL though, because some people’s hair lifts to either yellow or orange when going so light. Go to Sally’s and get the WELLA TONER in T-14 “Palest Ash Blond” (another name is “White Lady”). I left this on for 5 minutes! BE CAREFUL not to live it on too long when it starts turning, RINSE IT OUT! This lifts that yellow or orange out of your hair and will literally make your hair look amazing!!!! This stuff includes a shampoo packet that I found to be great and it leaves your hair ridiculously soft!ksm2v

I have naturally dark brown hair which I had dyed to a dark auburn color months ago. My roots were already showing and the color I had it dyed to was fading. I wanted to bleach my hair blond and used this product. The first time my hair was orange and my roots turned out yellow. According to the research I did I had to bleach my hair again to get it to the yellow that I wanted. Well my mistake was that I used this product again. I thought it should work on the second attempt. And no, all it did was make my hair turn into an even brighter orange! I left it in my hair on both attempts for 45 minutes. Plus it had left my hair dried out. Needless to say I'll never use this again and recommend that you do not use this product. It will not make you blond. Instead it will turn you into a carrot top as you can see in the picture. This was taken after the second time I used it to bleach my hair. That was almost $20 down the drain. I've been dying my hair for several years now (since I was 14) and this is the only product that lightens my dark brunette hair (somewhere between levels 2 and 3) to that perfect platinum. I usually dye my hair pastel colors. I feel like the people who are leaving bad reviews don't know what they're doing. If you get clumps just crush it up. Like, it's not that difficult. I have curly hair (a mixture of 2c and 3a) and it doesn't ruin my curl pattern. Curly hair tends to be dryer and more fragile than straight hair. Yes, your hair is going to fall out if you're putting 40 volume bleach on damaged hair (heat damage counts; if you blow-dry and flat iron your hair constantly you shouldn't bleach your hair at home; go to a professional; I have the same advice for people with chemical treatments and perms). Common sense people. 40 volume bleach is the strongest you can use and it shouldn't be left on for more than 30 minutes. You should never bleach your hair multiple times in a short span of time (Bleaching your hair again after you just bleached it isn't a good idea especially when it's 40 volume). Wait a couple of days between each session. And if you are bleaching your hair for the first time and don't know what you're doing educate yourself. Brad Mondo and Evangeline Demuro make great educational videos on how to do your hair. I suggest using a hair mask every night for a week before bleaching it so that your hair has enough moisture and is also strong enough to handle this. Also, for the love of GOD do not wash your hair before bleaching it. Your hair needs oil for bleach to do its job. The reason why this doesn't work for certain people is that they don't take into account the things I said. Don't use this on damaged hair, don't wash your hair, don't do this multiple times in one day and don't leave it on for a long time. I have fine shoulder length 3B hair. I started from the back and worked my way to the front but got to the top of my head when I realized one box was not enough. Not a big deal for what I was going for but would have been disappointed otherwise. I put coconut oil on my ears as forehead as well as my neck. It still got burned. It felt like sun burn. A piece of hair touch my check and it burned immediately. It did the job but I'm assuming it's really strong. Unless you have a shaved head, get to boxes even if just touching your roots like I was.Kit

So this does lighten a decent amount for what I needed, but the amount you get is minuscule. I laughed when I unboxed it honestly. I usually use another box kit, so I guess I'm just used to getting more for this price point. I probably wouldn't buy it again, unless I need bleach in a pinch and this was all that was available. As a hair stylist I don't usually recommend at home color, but this product I actually like. It is easy to mix and the instructions are clear. It comes with a conditioning hair mask for after bleaching. It is perfect for using before the semi-permanent colors for bright results. Obviously you will need to follow directions and the same rules still apply: It will NOT achieve light blonde on previously colored hair or very dark hair. You will have to reapply to get those results. Also if you have a lot of hair you will want to get 2 or 3 boxes to be sure you don't run out in the middle of applying. Bleaching your whole head at home is RISKY so if you are wanting a full blonde color, see a stylist! However, if you are just doing some accent pieces, are pre-bleaching for brighter color results or you know what you are doing then I would recommend.Momma3

I really liked this bleach kit because I was bleaching my hair for the first time by myself in my life and it was a very easy process. The one box was sufficient because my intention was only to do highlights and it turned out perfectly. The green dye that they also offer did a really great job and it’s very pigmented. My hair did not feel dry nor crunchy and I’m very happy that I didn’t have to breathe in bleach dust as this bleaching kit is dust-free. One of the absolute best things about this bleaching kit is that it’s ammonia-free. You know that really terrible smell you get when you bleach your hair or get work done at the nail salon? it’s usually because of the ammonia in the products. This kit doesn’t have that so that when you wash your hair after bleaching and even for a few weeks after you still don’t get that terrible smell. I was excited because the reviews were all mostly good . I have peekaboo highlights in the front of my face that were dyed orange and are now a very faded orange almost a peachy color so I assumed that this bleach kit would get it pretty light if not a white but It did absolutely nothing at all !!!! My hair is literally the same color as if I did nothing to it ! Such a waste of money especially because there is barley any product in the tubes . I do not recommend! I got this kit with the recent promotional release of the new colors. I've wanted to try this bleach kit for awhile as the color dyes have never dissapointed. I am being 100% when I say this stuff is either Hair crack or made by hair gods themselves, I used the 20 kit on my sisters down to the waist, thick, bright pink/purple/red multi colored hair with the roots grown in and it lifted to a beautiful platinum blonde in SECONDS. I have been doing hair for over a decade and I've never encountered a bleach kit that lightened as evenly or as nicely as this kit does. My hair is shoulder length and naturally dark brown to almost black. This #40 bleach party did a phenomenal job turning my hair to a blonde / yellow color. Obviously, I did my roots last since the roots take on the mixture very quickly . That is with any bleaching brand however… My scalp is sensitive, so days after the bleaching and dye job my scalp was very itchy, sensitive to touch, tight feeling, and felt like welts were in certain spots unfortunately 🙁 I really wish a good conditioner would have accompanied the bleach party and or even the full coverage 'moshi' dye color which I also purchased. This was my second time using Lime Crime color. The first time the color didn't take at all because I never bleached my hair… (Surprisingly, the 'mochi' color which is a lavender hue didn't take well at all even with my hair bleached as well) 🙁 My hair turned a brassy / almost highlighted red and light brown shade. I bought the 40Vol. kit last week when I was in Wal-Mart. I absolutely love that I can buy Lime Crime locally and not have to deal with shipping. This is the “softest” bleach I have ever used. I have previously damaged hair due to heat and color. I have used a lot of different products of the years and this is absolutely my new favorite. I mixed up a Bleach Wash/Bath to remove a stubborn purple/blue color and it took it right out and it did not cause any damage to my hair. After rinsing the bleach out, my hair felt soft unlike other products that feel my hair feeling rough. This is a great product for people with already damaged hair. I am on a hair to journey to a ashy blonde and I was at about 6/7 at time of use (gold and brassy) and this brought me right to where I need to be to tone effectively. I used the regular Jolen formula years ago and it was a very unpleasant experience: it was itchy, grainy, and turned my skin colour shades lighter for a while afterwards. As they seem to have discontinued the cream bleach I'd been using, I decided to give this another try. I was amazed at how quickly it worked compared to what I'd been using before, there was almost no skin irritation, and my skin was the same shade afterwards. I'm fair skinned with dark hair, and the hair became blond very quickly. I'm very impressed, and happy because Jolen is a lot easier to get a hold of than other hair bleaching brands; even my dinky little small town Boots carries it. Measuring is not the easiest, but even the 1:1 products can be tricky. I just used half of the 30ml cream and half of the powder which was easy enough, and that bleached my arms, abdomen and parts of my face. After randomly starting to sprout black chin hairs last year (yuck!) I started waxing my upper lip and chin. This did work for me for a while but I'm finding i have so much more black hair growth on my chin now then i did previously and also having to do it much more frequently because of this my last wax my chin became very irritated and had a scaly texture and i broke out in loads of spots! I suddenly had a brain wave yesterday why don't i bleach everything like i used to! I didn't think bleach would work on my stubborn chin hairs but by god it did I'm so happy with the results everything looks like baby blonde hair on my face again! When following the instructions on the box you end up with a full pot of bleach which actually you probably don't need, I ended up doing absolutely anything i could with it (toes, side burns, belly, chin, upper lip) but in doing this i would say you would only get about 3 uses out of the entire box. Next time i will do half the amount it says. I did some areas twice to really make sure id got everything and had absolutely no reaction to this although i could feel a ever so slight sting this is how i knew it was time to remove it. I bought this as an alternative to my usual Veet hair lightening kit as they had sold out. It is TERRIBLE! It comes as a kit consisting of a pot of activator cream and a thin pot of powdered bleach, a spatula and a teeny mixing pot. Its instructions say to "fill the pot up to the line with the cream" – however it's consistency is SO THICK you have to use the spatula to scrape it into the tiny pot and by this point it's all up the sides of the pot, you can't tell how much is IN the pot as the line is now very hard to see. Then it says add a cap of the powder… But now your worried are the quantities and consistencies right!? It is impossible to tell! Unless you have the patience of a saint or are a chemist, don't bother… Lol. Not worth the stress! Going back to Veet hair lightener.Squeak_green

I'm going to be honest – this product burned my face. I do have sensitive skin, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and this was just too much. It almost seemed like I had to cake the mixture on my face for it to even work. Sometimes it was very successful while other times, I was pretty disappointed. This works like a charm on my long, dark, thick arm hair. I know I shouldn't be so self-conscious abiout it, but it really makes a difference in my self-esteem when it is lightened. Be careful to measure carefully. If you use too much powder it may sting and itch a little bit. If it does, just use some body lotion after you rinse it off, and it will take care of it right away.Christine

I was wary of this product because of some reviews saying it doesn't work, but I'm so glad I bought this :') I have been growing a small patch of really thick, dark hairs under my chin/ jaw about the size of a quarter. I've tried plucking and shaving but it only makes them grow back ingrown. I finally decided to let the little whiskers grow out and I felt so ugly until I tried this kit! For some of the darker whiskers, it took about two bleaches before they fully lightened but this product does work!Katie

After my hairdresser of 14yrs went AWOL, before Covid. I started playing around with doing my own hair. Especially with the restrictions we’ve seen over the last year. It’s best described as Bayalage brown to blonde. I do not use all over coverage so will not speak to that, however I’ve found that this is the best platinum to ash blonde that I’ve used so far. Following directions for mixture and processing time, I found this brand to give me the best results for what I wanted. The only thing I’ll likely do different on next application is probably reapply to strands half way through processing and possibly going a little over the 60 minute mark. I take care of my hair, use quality shampoos and conditioners, and most importantly take my vitamins. I have had no issues with breakage or hair loss. My hair is long, approximately 3 inches past my bra line. If you feel like you’re hair is already brittle I would not recommend this product or any bleaching until you’re working with a healthy foundation. Every bleach and coloring product is hard on your hair, so just nurture it a little bit, follow instructions and you should be great.ames904

My hair is a natural dark black and I was able to go to the most beautiful blonde most people have ever seen. I always get stopped and asked where did I go or what products did I use to achieve this level of blonde. I think the reason why the one star views are posting negative comment are because their hair was already previously colored or bleached and it doesn’t work for hair like that. I was told by a beautician that lifting your hair only works on natural hair color not colored hair but again I could’ve been misinformed. It only took me two times to get the lift and color I was aiming for and only because I needed help the second time around from my husband because I couldn’t get the back of my head right. Best of luck to everyone but this product is the only product that I recommend to anybody and everybody. And they’re deep moisture and conditioning Pure Plex products are the best hands down Mind you, all of these pictures are literally a year later. I can’t find any old ones from when I first did the blonde 8 lift color but it can show you how long it stays in your hair and how effective it really is. I have not had any touchup at all honestly because I’m pregnant and would like to wait and I have also posted one picture of how dark my hair was before the transition. Hope this helps you guys. I really like it. Probably the best box bleach product readily available on a store shelf. Truly doea lift up to 8 levels in one go. Caused me absolutely NO irritation or itching on my scalp or skin. The bond reconstructing aspect was a nice added touch. Helped to combat some of the harsher damage that comes with bleaching. It will leave you with some brass no matter what but it takes you light enough that a in shower toner is all you need to color correct.jena.l

I had high hopes for this bleaching kit when I pulled everything out of the box as it seemed this was like a salon quality product. However, it took an extraordinary long time for my roots to lift and even then, they weren't as light as Garnier's and L'Oreal's platinum bleach bottle kits can get them. I have naturally dark blonde hair so it shouldn't have had a problem lifting it to light yellow. I had to leave it on my roots for an hour and was afraid to leave it on any longer. I believe the reason for the poor lift is because the ratio of developer and cream bleach provided is off. The amount of developer should be double that of the bleach. This kit came with a big tube of cream bleach and once I squeezed all of into the mixing tray, I had to use a small whisk to break up the clumps and make it smooth. You also end up with a huge amount of product if you're just looking to touch up your roots. As others have noted, the brush they provide is super small and short, making it hard to hold and get enough product on your hair. Then there are all the additional packets they instruct you to use. The clarifying shampoo had the strongest perfumy smell I've ever experienced in a shampoo and it barely lathered. I don't see what the point of including a clarifying shampoo is. I didn't use any of the other products because I'm sure the scent would have knocked me over, too. I am returning to using Garnier's Ultra pure platinum PL1 followed by L'Oreal's Power Toner in Ice Blonde. I get the best shade of blonde with these two products and the Garnier lifts my hair to light yellow in about 35 to 40 minutes. I personally find the bottle formula much easier to apply than a brush.GoRetroPam

Nothing online indicating that this is not a bottle kit. The mixture is very thick and chunky and extremely difficult to apply with the miniscule applicator brush. I have posted before and after photos and didn't get anywhere near the lift that I should have with my base color. My friend who has done my hair many times at my instruction usually gets me perfect results with a Ferria bottle kit. Never buying this again.Lucrezaborgia

This stuff actually is fantastic. I didn’t think it would lift so well. I have bleached platinum hair but recently did a buzz cut so I had black roots. Seen a woman on YouTube buy this on her dark roots after her buzz cut and I was amazed at how it lifted. So I decided to buy this and I left it on for 40 mins and Lord behold it came out platinum! (I did use purple shampoo, conditioner and mask) to get that extra reassurance. 2nd time I bought this and left it on for a little less time, it didn’t lift as well as the first time, so if you have black hair / roots, leave it on for 35 – 45 mins (check it every 10 mins) and use purple shampoo!!Eleven

This is literally the worst product I've ever used. Not only did it not work. It ruined my hair. It took my light brown unprocessed hair and turned the middle orange and the ends are now the color and consistency of a banana. I've been coloring my own hair for 25 years. My mother has been a cosmotologist for 40 years. I'm no novice when it comes to hair. I normally would never have bought bleach or color for that matter in box form but this was the only thing available to me so I thought i'd give it a shot how bad could it be. I never imagined in a million years that it would DESTROY my hair. I followed the directions on the box. I checked it at 20min it was still super orange at 20 min left it on 10min longer rinsed shampooed and conditioned all in cool water and my hair is literally orange yellow mush!!karebear24

WOW! My goal is to be able to use bright jewel tone, semi-permanent colors (Mermaid Hair!). At 1st I wasn't brave enough to go full-on platinum. I used a Revlon super light blonde. It was okay at first, then turned brassy. I decided to just go for it! This is a terrific product if Platinum is your goal. My dark blonde roots had grown out a bit so on my virgin hair? WHITE! There are obviously still golden blonde color deposits, very pale but very yellow. So I will need to use a toner, (which is pretty common), to even it out. Yellow deposits would make the turquoise look green and the pink look orange, etc. My hair feels great, no fall-out or breakage. It looks a little dry. I will give it a bit of a trim when I am all done. I will give it about a week before toning. In the meantime a DIY anti-frizz deep conditioning; Coconut Oil, Mayo, Raw Egg. Seriously, I have found nothing better for frizzy dry hair. Plastic bag it and leave for an hour to overnight. What I also really liked about this product is it comes with Bleaching POWDER. That is really what is required for lifting color to this level. But you mix it all into an applicator bottle! **Shake Very Well** SO much easier, no fumbling around with bowls and brushes. It comes with a whole tube of purple-tinted deep conditioner for multiple applications. I have already ordered another box for touch ups!Roxanne

I love this powder bleach for lightening and bleaching hair at home. I do my own hair, as well as my daughter and friends and other family members and I have done so for many years…so I have tried many different brands and types of bleach and this has always given me the best results. It is simple enough for anyone to follow the directions and do on themselves or someone else. I do recommend though if you are doing your hair at home to ALWAYS first do a small test strip of hair just to make sure your hair can handle it before you put through your entire hair. Then I would do a lot of research of the products you are using and reading all directions carefully and fully a few times before getting started and also it never hurts to watch a few YouTube videos. Research the brands you are using as well and see what others have said about them, it will really make a difference when finding the best items for you to use on your hair at home. If you are doing your own hair and looking to lighten your hair I would recommend using this bleach, my experiences have always been pleasant.mallory.d

This was one of the first brands of lighteners, that I can remember, who added the blue tint to the formula- which is intended to fight against that yellow/gold look when you get hi-lites or bleach your hair. I haven’t used it in years bc they have came out with some amazing quality lighteners… but it’s not terrible. If you’re shopping at Sally’s, I’d say this is a good choice. They do not lie, this is fast acting (so work smart, but quickly), this will lift up to 7 shades. Quick Blue does have a nice, creamy consistency you can use this for both on scalp and off. I personally don’t recommend using this product as a DIY if you are not 100% comfortable… but if you like to live life on the edge, use the L’Oréal developer maybe not go higher than 20 volume:)lacey.k

This is the best lightener out there. I recommend this one before trying others. I constantly bleach my hair as I never have it my natural hair color. I dye it fun colors all the time. Just mentioning that to show I really do know my way and bleach and other brands and this is it. the description and lightening power is pretty accurate! Let me start off with the fact that I have long hair. Like down to my thighs hair, and I am a tall person. Since the box STRESSED that you should have virgin hair, I did the famous wolf cut on TikTok and chopped off my ends. I did good enough and about 5 inches are gone. Did I do a good job? No. Can you tell? Also, no. My hair is kept up and it will be our shameful secret. On to the bleach. It's STRONG. I started hacking and sputtering about 2 minutes in. Mistake number 1. I have been dying/bleaching my hair since 14 years and I am in my 30's now. Even the evil Splat bleach wasn't this fragrant. I took it outside to save my family from the fumes. I got half of my hair done before working on the other side and here is where I mistake number 2. Looking back now, the smell was a big tip off that I should only do one side at a time. The left side of my head (side that I did first) started to get warm. Okay, normal thing to expect from bleach. But it kept getting warmer and warmer, to hot and then my ear started to burn. I had finished the other side and had been trying to let it set so that they would both match. I immediately hopped into the shower to rinse and get this stuff out of my hair. I did not want to fry it off. I had fried it with Splat bleach before and had to cut off all except for 1 inch. I tried waiting for the other side but once my right ear got hot it was all rinsed out as well. Very effective though. My hair isn't fried, thankfully. But I also haven't had the funds or the time for at least 4.5 years now. It bleached my hair faaast and is completely blonde where it used to be dark brunette. There are a few spots that I missed but oh well. I would rather take the time to heal my hair before doing any touch ups. I will attach before and after photos. It did it's job fast on my hair. The only missed spots are my error and I know that. You need to have virgin hair or it will certainly fry it. Be outside and do only half of your head at a time, especially if you have long hair.eve.n

I fancied a change of hair colour so decided to go back blonde. I had dark brown hair dye on my hair but stripped it last week, used conditioner products for a week so hair wasn't dry. This bleach is one of the best ones I've ever used. My hair is in amazing condition and is so shiny and healthy looking. I have shoulder length hair and got 2 boxes. I only used one today as I didn't want to bleach twice in a day so will use other one tomorrow before using a toner. The downside is there is no brush or bowl included, so bare that in mind that you will need to purchase this extra before using the bleach. Also the gloves aren't very good so I also bought wella gloves. All in all I'm very impressed and will buy again. Please remember though everyone is different, do a skin test first and are sure your hair can cope with bleach as this is 30% volume so quite strong.LiseT

I received a bleach London total bleach kit from influenster in exchange for an honest review. The “total bleach” say it can lighten up to 7 levels, but i started with level 5 hair and only got to level 8 after bleaching for a full 45min and maybe not quite a level 8 but more like 7.5. However, i was trying to do a highlighted balayage kind of look so i did not fully saturate my hair so that may have affected the results. I would not recommend this for balayage, but it could maybe work for foil highlighting. Although i was trying to not saturate all of the hair, i did end up accidentally bleaching basically my whole head because the bleach is liquidy. I think that is probably good if you are trying to get a uniform blond however. But even the parts of my hair that were fully saturated with.bleach did not reach a level 10, and if this could lift 7 levels as advertised i should have easily been able to go from 5 to 10. The picture on the side of the box showing the lift, however, is accurate and shows about what my hair reached, which is about 3 levels of lift in one application. This is comparable to other company’s bleach kits i have tried, its just not as good as advertised. However, this bleach actually smells much better than other ones! Like it atil smells bad and makes my eyes water, but its a lot more tolerable than i am used to. Also the included reincarnation mask was fantastic. My hair also is a bit dry, but is still shiny and seems to be in good shape after bleaching.audra.a

they want you to believe that this is the original formula that they've had since the 1970s. It is not the original formula and their customers know it. It does not work anymore. you can leave it on for 2 hours and it still won't work like it used to. what a shame. you take a great product and then you ruin it and then have the nerve to put the word original formula on the box which is so not true. I tried this product today because I've seen some great reviews around the internet and was the first time that I've bleached my facial hairs. It was just amazing how it looked after a easy process to make the mix, it came with it's own bowl and I believe I'm still gonna have lots of applications from it! I used this on my hair after using another brand of lightener that didn’t work that well. This stuff worked wonders! I have very dark hair so it’s hard to find a lightener that works and won’t make my hair fall out! This stuff works! And my hair isn’t fried, even after using this product over another bleach job. The amount they give you is so helpful too! I personally had enough to split it into two for another use. Sally’s had a great selection but this is the ultimate bleach kit in my opinion. This worked fantastic! Not only that, it smelled nice, and had GREAT directions! That’s super important when it comes to bleaching hair. I was able to lighten my daughters hair at least 7 shades for her to do her purple streak. I left it only a half hour because I didn’t want to break her hair off, so just imagine if I left it 15 more minutes for the total time?! I’m just so totally pleased with this user/beginner friendly bleach. Totally recommend. In fact, I’ve already purchased another box for my kids next round. One thing I will note, is not a lot comes in it, I would’ve needed maybe 2-3 boxes for her whole head, but it’s great for doing a couple streaks on short hair or one on long.katrina .m

I usually prefer doing my own hair as I do not like physical contact. I wanted to try bleaching my hair for the first time & got this because I thought, "Oh yeah, of course I want the maximum amount of lightening, so I can put bright colors over it." But when I told my hairdresser friend about it, she looked scared and said my hair would probably break off! I ended up getting the Lime Crime 20 volume kit but keeping this because it said it came with a brush, gloves, and a mixing bowl. The Lime Crime kit only had gloves, the bowl and brush/comb combo were extra. Well, I didn't open this box until the day of the bleaching, and it only had a brush, no gloves or bowl! I ended up mixing in a plastic Tupperware container with a plastic to-go spoon. I don't think they were accidentally forgotten either because there wasn't even room in the box for anything else. DO NOT BUY THIS! Go with the Lime Crime 20 volume. It still lightened my dark hair enough for bright colors but with no damage, and if you buy this "kit" you will still need to buy extra supplies anyway.Feeling conned
