I've been using this leave in conditioner since I was 14 years old. I am now 39. I used to love it because I never had to brush my hair and it made it very soft. After a quite a bit of years later, it stopped working. Probably because I used it everyday. I bought the biggest one and it has literally lasted me 6 years so far. A little goes a long way and if you use too much your hair looks greasy. This also has a dual use. It can be used as a lotion on the skin as well. I've never used it like that hut I may start just to get rid of it. It's not a bad product. I think I just over used it.beth marie.b

I would classify this conditioner as a good daily conditioner for normal to slightly dry hair. I don't think it moisturizes enough to be a "treatment" or deep conditioner. After shampooing, I apply it, then leave it in my hair while I wash my body, then I rinse it out. I have super short, baby fine dark blonde hair with highlights. It does an okay job of detangling, but it doesn't do much for my dry ends. I'll continue using this as my everyday conditioner.sap1263

I adore Paul Mitchell Neon products. It is scented with a very fruity peach bellini type scent and it is very strongly scented. If you don't like fruity or strongly scented products then beware. I love a strongly scented hair product because my hair picks up environmental odors like nobody's business. I use it every other wash so that it doesn't dry my hair out too much. It works fantastic in combination with the conditioner and working spray. The shampoo always lasts me 2x as long as the conditioner so I'm going to start buying 2 conditioners. I don't ever want to be without this shampoo and conditioner. It really adds so much frizz free volume to my fine & thin hair. All of the negative comments about residues and such really surprised me. I almost wonder if it can be attributed to hard or soft water. All I know is, it works amazingly for my fine hair with slightly oily scalp and kinda dry ends and I wash with hard tap water. It's the bestest.beccab5o4

This is one of the best moisturizers I have come by, it leaves my hair shiny, defined, and my curls look healthier than ever! It pairs well with gel or even by itself. I can easily refresh my curls with just this product alone. I use it in damp hair and even on dry hair if I'm just refreshing my ends. It was not as thick as many comments made it out to be, I have 3b/c curls and it works on my hair great! It also can be watered down adding water to it as you apply it. Those using this line should be aware most of these products are made for those with thicker curls/coils. So if you have thinner or wavy hair this may not be the product for you. But hands down the best, definitely an essential to have !Jada

This product works really well for my type 4, frizzy, high porosity hair. I have a mix of fine and coarse strands, so I wouldn't recommend this to someone with only super fine hair, as it is, as others have noted, thick and somewhat sticky if you don't move fast enough. I've found ways around this by thinning it out with water and covering the jar with the lid when I'm not actively scooping out product to use (it will become sticky and thicken up when exposed to air for too long). Works well for me when I work in small sections, apply it to one section, and immediately twist that section. If you apply it to your whole head at once and think you're going to go back through and easily twist it all, think again! It will become tacky and tangle your hair if left to sit on it without styling. This hasn't been a problem for me when untwisting my hair though. It's too heavy for me to use on wash days, so I stick to lighter products like Melanin' leave-in and butter. But this is my go-to when I refresh/re-moisturize my hair a week later. I lightly dampen my hair, apply a tiny bit of Melanin leave-in, then a layer of this and follow with a layer of grease/oil. Helps smooth down my frizz without my usual need for gel or mousse. The scent is too strong for me, but I like fragrance-free everything, so I can't really weigh in on this aspect. I've never experienced flaking with this; however, I don't use more than a dime size amount on each chunky twist and I always follow it with grease/oil, so one or both of these could be the reason why.Gina

I have 4b, high porosity hair and this product keeps it super moisturized. I use it about 3 times a week, whenever I style my hair and after I wash it. It is the only product I've tried that really does the job. It's great if you have a simple hair care routine but if you like to style your hair a lot, or define your curls with gel it can be kind of unfortunate. It doesn't mix well with gel AT ALL. My hair would have clumps all the time. It does define my curls a bit but not completely. Again, it's perfect if you use it without gel.Arlene

I have natural/4a hair. I used this product after taking down a 6 week protective. I started off by shampooing with the TGIN Rosewater hydrating shampoo ( Which I LOVE). After that, I applied this protein treatment for about 10-15 mins. I immediately followed up with the TGIN Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask.. it left my hair feeling amazingly healthy.My hair went from feeling limp and brown to shedding and breakage, to strong and resilient to shedding & breakage. I'm not sure if I would have gotten these same great results if I didn't follow up with the deep conditioner as suggested on the bottle. Will definitely buy again! 🙂Taylor D

For anyone who doesn't know- protein treatments HAVE TO BE USED WITH A HYDRATING/ MOISTURIZING conditioner as the second step. I am wearing my hair curly and it's hard to tell if my hair is stronger. It did leave my hair feeling dry and I left it in without heat for thirty minutes under a shower cap wrapped in a bath towel. I have been experiencing a lot of split ends, breakage along the shaft and just overall not happy with my hair journey so I am praying for good results. Use this in my 1 yr old’s fine, curly hair as a daily moisturizer along with aloe vera juice and essential oils. I also use it to style her hair, either method keeps her curls soft, moisturized and detangled, while helping to hold her style in place. My texture is thick and curly and my hair has the same results. I do not use it to hold my styles as my texture is too thick and requires more hold. The moisturizer itself it creamy, smells good and a little amount goes a long way. Not greasy or heavy, allowing for every day use.Angie D.

I used to have amazing, curly/wavy hair without trying at all. Like, shampoo, and sometimes condition every few days and BAM – perfect hair. Bought this on sale at the 50% off Conditioner Sale as I've wanted to try it for awhile. I was really impressed. It is so incredibly moisturizing! I've used the Honey Miracle Mask and I like it but this one is definitely a step up in performance. I know the ingredients are similar but for some reason this one just works better for me. I bought the 2oz bottle, not a gallon but there's no option for it. So I used the sample sachet of the unscented version and I thought it was good sulfate-free shampoo. I wanted to try a scented one so I bought the 2oz Island Fantasy and I don’t know what went wrong. I had to use way more of the shampoo this time around to even get enough to work through to my scalp. When I rinsed it out this time it felt like my hair was stripped and squeaky and my roots felt tangled. When I used the unscented sample it was soft and felt smooth in my hair when rinsing out. I followed this up with my usual go-to Dove intense moisture conditioner and my hair is not drying the same. It looks dry, feels dry, and the frizz has been real. I’ve been trying to tame it by twisting and clipping it up in a bun all day because of how bad my hair has been looking. Is there a difference between the unscented and Island Fantasy? Really sucks because I’ve been wanting to find a good sulfate-free shampoo to use in between normal sulfate washes, but it seems like none of Jessicurl products work for me.julia.s

One of the things about gels that I run into is it not being being 100% compatible with very season. Some gels are good for all year round, while some gels work their magic best in certain seasons, but this gel right here work’s it’s magic no matter the season or whatever may come up, where your hair needs strong hold and ultimate frizz protection that you can count on truly all day long. This gel is glycerin free, for those who may be interested in such. It does contain alcohol listed as its last ingredient, but alcohol is actually a component t of one of the polyquat’s used in this product. So, alcohol isn’t added separately to this product, for those that may have been wondering. It is on 7/10ths of this product. Also, you do not smell any traces of such when you smell this product at all. The fragrance free version comes completely fragrance free, and this gel has a lightweight consistency (but is not runny), it dries clear, it doesn’t flake, and it gives y hair hold fit more than one day, which for me is a miracle, because with most stylers that I use, I have to refresh my hair with more styling product ASAP every morning. Because, after I sleep on my hair, even with a satin bonnet on, my hair typically be needing some extra help in the mornings, for sure. But, the hold on this product is fantastic. I can use this product on both wet and dry hair without any problems, but I do choose to use Jessicurl’s hairspray (which is alcohol free) to give my hair a quick pick me up or to take flyaways that may pop up in between my hair wash day. They do have a curl refresher within the Jessicurl line, but it just isn’t best suited for my hair unfortunately. But, their hair spray on the other hand works so much better at reviving my hair, whenever needed. This is a very universal gel that was created for all curltypes, all hair textures, and definitely for all races. So, if you haven’t given Jessicurl a try yet, I’d highly recommend checking out all that they have to offer and what products may suit your wavy, curly, or coily hair best for sure!sybil.w

Maybe I just have the worst luck with hair products or something because it’s such a struggle to find anything that actually works. I purchased a small 2oz bottle of this deep conditioner and I don’t understand what’s deep conditioning about it. It’s super-duper thick and hard to get out of the bottle which seemed like a good thing if it was moisturizing at all. The smell was nice and light but had a hint of a weird crayon smell that the other unscented Jessicurl products have. It had no slip and I was already kind of worried that it would not be moisturizing. I left it on and put a cap on for 30 ish minutes with a towel wrapped around my head to trap heat in. I also periodically used the blow dryer to heat it up inside the towel. I rinsed it all out and then put some argan oil and OGX Moroccan oil and wrapped my hair with a Tshirt. When I was letting it air dry after that, I could tell things were going south with how crispy and frayed my ends were looking. I JUST trimmed my ends a week before as well so this shouldn’t have happened if I deep conditioned my hair. During the drying process, my hair frizzed up a lot and looked super dry and crispy. My ends felt crispy and my ends were a tangled mess. I tried to smooth out my frizzy waves but it was still a terrible mess (photo on the right).julia.s

An amazing product for my dry, frizzy hair! This smells like warm, smooth coconut 🥥! Compared to alternatives, this has a VERY strong scent, so be cautious if you're sensitive to fragrances! I would improve this product by offering this is a lighter lotion for those with thinner hair not to overdo it, however you can use less product and avoid applying to your scalp to avoid weighing your hair down. This met all of my expectations, my hair is less frizzy and my curls have more definition. I would recommend to everyone with curly hair!rosaline.e

I LOVE THIS DANG PRODUCT !! I tried it once and have continuously bought it because I use it pretty much daily. Leaves beautiful curls without the excessive oily residue and extremely soft. I bought this product not knowing my hair type which is my bad. So if you have low porosity hair like me, this product might not be the best for you. I used this weekly and found that my hair felt extra greasy and had a lot of build up. The butters caused weighed down my curls and they still had a lot of frizz. It does smell good and I bet would be great for high porosity hair. But if you have low porosity hair, it's probably better to just avoid this product.Kenna

This is a really thick product so I don’t use it for the day. I put it on my hair at night then wrap my hair and let it soak overnight, and it is honestly the only product that I’ve repeatedly bought, in the morning my hair looks so healthy that I only need to comb it which is great because I’m not using as much heat in it. This is really a disappointment even given the price. It made my just-washed hair look greasy and horrible even though I applied it to my damp hair before a blow-dry. I gave it a second chance by using very little and applying it evenly with great care, and it turned out to be just ok. My hair still looked a bit stiff and even a little frizzy. I revisited this product after using it for years when I was younger. I should not have. The formula does not seem to be the same. This stuff just sits on top of my hair and never is fully absorbed. My hair looks and feels a lot better after I use it, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on the week since I've been using it.On the downside, and this is super subjective, I'm not a huge fan of the scent. I think it smells like cheap cologne. And as a warning the first pump had an overpowering scent, I almost returned the product, it gave me a headache. Instantly made the difference. I am an active person, so needless to say between the beach, a workout and the occasional hat. Needless to say my hair would take a toll. Great as a pre-styler! I really do like this product. My only gripe really is that the pump bottle that the hair moisturizer comes in leaks out the top near the pump. Full of moisturizing ingredients, especially oils, this cream is fairly thick so I recommend using the tiniest amount combined with A LOT of water. It will give you super soft feeling hair. I don’t know if it really “activated” my curls, I’ve used a lot of curl creams with similar results. I like the ingredient line up though and will continue to use and purchase. One thing to note, this is a protein-free formula so balance your protein/moisture accordingly. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to change the packaging to a squeeze tube instead of this hard plastic bottle that makes it difficult to squeeze product out of. This is my go-to leave-in curl cream. It doesn't weigh down my medium-thickness 2b strands and it doesn't leave them in flyaway disarray either. It's easy to use TOO much, so build up slowly or emulsify in your hands with a little water before applying to wet or damp tresses. I get my best results from this cream when I apply it to my hair (avoiding the scalp) fresh from washing and plop it for a while. It leaves the sliiightest cast, which is easily scrunched out. The formula sometimes causes small breakouts on my neck, which is the reason why I award it four stars instead of five. If you're new to the wavy/curly world, consider giving this cream a try!Renzie

I have curly hair so i used to apply mielle's leave in but the scent was too strong to handle for me, so i got this cantu moisturizing cream. I was hesitated whether to try anything from cantu on my hair because u heard alot of negative feedback about it but everbody has different hair so maybe it didn't work for some people yet it did go well for others, so i wanted to give it a shot. The size of the bottle would last 5 – 6 months which is great, has a light pleasant coconut scent. I used it after shower, the texture is thick so i recommend to use it when your hair is wet and apply 2 to 3 pumps because it spreads well through hair. In conjunction with the Brazilian foam, this works wonders for my curls. It doesn’t take much application. It also doesn’t make my hair feel dry. I can even go a few days without reapplying product and it STILL looks amazing. I have color treated hair and hydration is a must and this product keeps my tresses moisturized! This curl cream was one of my first purchases from Mielle! I was very excited to use it, it actually worked great for my curly hair at first. My hair actually started growing out thicker. I was also using the avocado moisturizer with this curl cream. Unfortunately, I noticed that with or without the moisturizer, my hair still looked like dry curls! This is my favorite curl cream from their collection and keeps my hair looking amazing for like 3 days after I initially applied it. I usually use gel after curl cream but with this product I don’t have to. My hair texture is 3C and I recommend this if you have the same hair type. Oh I like this product for my 3C/4A low (ish) porosity curly hair. First off the price for this product is a win for me since most products by Ouidad are completely out of my price range. Second the product uses are perfect for cost effective use as it can be used as a cowash, deep conditioner, leave in and styler. For my hair I use it as a leave in to support a styler and my hair appreciates it. It is thick but my hair soaks it up quickly which is both a good thing and a bad thing since I am sometimes heavy handed with the product. It doesn't weight my hair down at all but I know I have to be mindful of the amount used to avoid "complications". I would recommend either on its own or as part of it's set.carisa.s

Holy cow. Yes listen to other reviewers the pump on this bottle is absolutely trash. Conditioner is the most us curl ladies use in abundance. You will need to pump your life away to get the product out. But for me the most draw back is that there is no slip. I have long hair and get knots on the back bottom of the hair this does not even come close to helping me detangle. The smell is eh. The white line (low moisture) scent is much better.Paloma

Very, very disappointing, returning. This stuff is supposed to be for curls, but it made them go straight, plus dry and crisp, like a protein overload. Bad!! Plus the pump hardly puts out any product, so you have to pump 10-12 times to get a decent amount of product. It’s not hard to go overboard with this hair oil if you have thinner hair. I would say my hair is of a medium thickness and two sprays at an arms length distance is more than enough to make my curls shiny. I do two sprays and run my fingers through my hair to evenly spread it out. It’s a thinner type of oil so distributing is easy. When I applied too much It looked like I spilled baby oil in my hair.annalee.c

I actually love this product. It smells fantastic. I have very coarse, thick, wavy and frizzy hair. I am also white. I am pretty sure Carols daughter was designed for African woman’s hair. I have purchased quite a few of their products and they are fantastic but and very concentrated. For me and As I wrote about how my hair type is, I must be very careful about the amount I use. A little goes a VERY long way. Too much will tend to become a weighed down greasy situation. Would not recommend for anyone with Caucasian fine, thin hair at all. This is a good leave in cream for softening and managing hair. It is light and not very oily. I use it on my hair after I wash it and in between protective styling so that my hair doesn't get real dry and brittle. It softens the hair, strengthens and hydrates it. My hair drys out easily and this is good while it's still moist and as far as softening but it doesn't prevent the dry spells as my hair can go back to as if nothing was put on it in like 4 hours and no I do not re-apply this cream. I don't want build up. I give it 4 stars because although it doesn't last long it does keep hair manageable and if your hair is curly it will keep the form after its drys and have your curls soft.maika.r

When I first used this leave-in I didnt use it as directed because I was basing my judgement off of looks/texture of the product. My hair was wet then I appied the product and thats when I realized having your hair wet vs damp waters down the product. So with this leave-in please follow the instrustions when applying. Upon second use and application it didnt feel moisturizing to my strands. I really had to work the product into my hair. Yes, it has alot of oils in it, yes it made my curls pop a little, but it felt like Nivea lotion (when it first came out idk about now, I dont use that lotion) texture and all. If you know, you know. It doesnt feel as tho its sitting on my strands but it doesnt feel as tho it penatraded my strands. This is a great product and ive seen it work wonders for others especially for the price, but not for me.Andreana

One of my all-time favorite hair moisturizers. Unfortunately it's getting harder to find this in the store so I was so happy to find it for under $4 on walmart.com. I had to order 3 for now 🙂 I've used this on my hair when it was relaxed and now texlaxed for over a decade. It's never oily or greasy. It also never weighs your hair down. I have low porosity hair and it keeps my hair feeling moisturized for 3 days so I also never have to worry about reapplying daily though it is called a daily moisturizer.
