I’ve been around the block when it comes to purple shampoos and this is one of the best ones I have tried, if not the best. I think one of the most annoying things about purple shampoos is how drying they can be on the hair but after using this my hair actually felt more hydrated. The toning on my hair was pretty significant as well, even without having my hair done in 4 months. When using purple shampoo I like to let it sit on my hair for a few minutes in the shower before rinsing off. I’ll admit I didn’t have high hopes for this but after using it it will definitely be a new staple in my routine! About a week ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair. I bought bleach and developed and started bleaching my hair. It did not go well. The next day, I went back to the store, looking for something to fix my at home bleach fail. I warmed up to my weird brassy orangeish yellow, so I decided I would stay blonde for a while, but I definitely want lighter hair. I bought the Violet crush shampoo and the conditioner, along with more bleach to fix some still very dark spots in my hair. After bleaching the dark spots out, turning them a weird light yellow, I washed my hair with this shampoo. I only left it in for a minute and it already made my hair look better and the color more even. Today, I decided to leave the shampoo in my hair for five minutes and I can see the difference. The lighter parts of my hair look better now. I'd definitely recommend using the Violet crush conditioner after the shampoo, though. Here’s what she had to say: Shampoo lathered well and very few tangles after conditioning. It did turn down the brassiness without making my hair look too ash blonde. I think for the price point it holds its own. I don’t like it as well as some similar shampoos and conditioners sold in salons, but I do like the price point! What I dislike: I was underwhelmed by the smell not a whole lot to it. One day after use my hair does feel a little more weighed down and more oily then normal. i got this conditioner because the ingredients looked legit and i thought i might as well try it out, and WOW it's so amazing for my hair! i have 3b-c curly hair and i use this conditioner all the time. it's so moisturizing and makes my hair super soft and really helps in delivering moisture deep into my hair so it lasts. not to mention it smells so amazing, kind of perfumy so if you have some sensitivities or allergies it might not be the best for you but if you don't it's a great smell. the texture is pretty thick and it does a great job moisturizing so i'm not sure if it would be the best for daily use but i use it every couple of days when i style my hair and after washing and it works great. overall, it's a great conditioner for my thick hair and i would totally recommenddrew
I used the Aluram Daily Clean beauty shampoo since the summer and my hair started going through its winter dry spell where more flakes were noticeable in my dark brown hair. I have mixed emotions for this product. Upon initial use, I fell in love with the smell but that was it. I wanted to love this so much, however, my hair fell like crazy in the shower. Came day 2, my hair didn’t fall that bad but I felt that the smell was too strong. I guess it’s safe to say that it’s heavily perfumed. Then came day 3 and so on.. I got used to the smell. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice. But it can be a bit too much for others. The consistency is also weird. While it does foam, I find that it’s jelly-like. I normally like a shampoo that’s a bit runny. This purple shampoo is awesome! I bought this before I knew they carried the bigger bottles. I will definitely be back to purchase the bigger bottles of shampoo and conditioner. There’s a lot of negative reviews on this but you to each their own! I also see a lot of reviews with people who have blonde or lighter hair, but let me tell you, I’m a brunette and I absolutely love this. Why do I use purple instead of blue shampoo? Because I like warmer toned hair color. I originally had highlights that were beginning to get as orange as the rotting fall leaves. After fixing the color at home with DPHue at home, I really just wanted a low maintenance look and have my hair grow out. If you have dark hair, you really don’t have to dilute this shampoo out with your regular everyday shampoo (like it suggests on the bottle). If you have light hair, definitely recommend diluting it. I use this three times a week to start off with, then dialed it to twice and then finally once a week, once I achieved the tone I wanted. I love the smell that it leaves in my hair! It’s a light scent, and I like that it is I usually lather on the shampoo, working from the ends to the scalp. Why? The ends take it more of the product and it’s needed there more than the hair near your scalp. I also like that this product is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, gluten and drying alcohol. This shampoo and conditioner is meant for toning and toning only. Not for every day use. I would not recommend it for ever day use because 1) it’s spendy to use every day, and 2) there’s better products for every day use. Not sure how this shampoo worked for people. Obviously you’re buying this shampoo because you bleached and coloured your hair, so yes your hair already was damaged a bit. My hair wasn’t silky smooth to start, but it was decent and manageable and could style root to tip. Some of my highlights were turning a little orange and I was going out, I don’t use purple shampoo too often so I picked this up. I used it and left it on for about a minute (the smell was too strong and I didn’t want to smell like it plus it is very pigmented) conditioned with olaplex, and hopped out and air dried my hair (as usual). When brushing my hair, so much of it was breaking. Very slight split ends (since we bleached our hair right?) are curling up and extending up the follicle and breaking. I’m mortified and have to get my hair cut. I’ve been working really hard to keep my hair healthy and didn’t think one purple shampoo wash would destroy it this bad. Any purple shampoo will dry your hair out to an extent, but should never be to the point you have to chop your hair off. Just put the extra money and/or time on a better toning shampoo. I have huge blonde hair care regiment but recently was sent this samples from Pinchme.com and I fell in love with this product the moroccanoil blonde perfecting shampoo and conditioner color care. I could tell after one use the different in my strands as far as they felt fuller softer and a lot stronger too. I have already purchased my own and is in its way in the mail as we speak. But I can’t say enough about the shampoo seriously the strength added to my hair after using and the toning feature was amazing. Others I have to use separate product .. with moraccanoil u get it all in one tube!! Smell is beautiful the product color is rich purple and it won’t leave ur hair heavy or with residue. I used as shampoo then rinsed … swueeze out all water from hair with hands and reapply from front hair line back to ur ends and massage thru without sudsing up the product and leave set for 10/15 minutes depending on how porous ur hair is. I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). But I would definitely recommend for colour improvement, brightening and lightening dullness in colour.irina.g

I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I tried some different shampoos and conditioners and none seemed better than the others. I was having a particular problem with tangles when my hair was wet. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. This shampoo leaves my hair silky, smooth and doesn't fade my colored hair either. While Opalex made my hair feel like straw hair. I highly recommend this shampoo if you want silky smooth hair. My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! I've often found that purple shampoos can strip my already fragile processed hair, or actually just turn it purple. This does neither, and gently removes brassy tones. I leave it on anywhere between 3-7 minutes and it's foolproof. I only use a small amount at a time, and I've found that using it once a week the bottle will last me a year, easily. I love this stuff and can't get enough of it! my 3rd bottle already and it's the only purple shampoo I trust for my blonde highlights! Loooove the smell especially! it's not a drying formula unlike any other purple shampoos I tried which is also another major plus. What I do is I dampened the hair slightly with just a lil bit of water then I squeeze a good amount on my palm (more than they recommend on the bottle) and place it all over my blonde highlights. I leave it on for 30-45 mins and then properly rinse it. This technique uses a lot more product than what's recommended on the bottle but I noticed that this way the brassiness stays gone for a month long so I only need to do this once a month. I could not recommend this shampoo and my technique enough! I love love love this shampoo!Sha
TLDR – great shampoo, horrible packaging I love this shampoo! Smells so good and has made a huge difference in my hair color. However, that packaging is horrible. The shampoo is constantly leaking out of the top of the lid. Every time I get in the shower, every other product even remotely near it is covered in a purple layer of shampoo. I should have caught the red flag when every other bottle in store was leaking and I thought I had found the one bottle that wasn’t leaking. Conditioner doesn’t have same issue… I wonder why. I feel like I’ve lost half the bottle by it just leaking out. Product could be vastly improved by putting it in a bottle that does its’ job.Disappointed

I read such great reviews and was excited to try this. I’ve been using a purple shampoo, and thought the conditioner sounded great. Well. Used it the first time and didn’t notice any change (meaning I still retained the brassy yellow in my white streak). Used it again according to the directions. YIKES!!! Dry hair revealed that my brassy yellow-tinged white streak was still brassy yellow, but the silver and white sides of my hair were PURPLE! I mean true, lilac purple. Like those little lavender haired old ladies you see at the retirement home. For real. I have washed and conditioned twice (using “regular” products), and still purple. This works, and you can't beat the price! I leave it on for about 3 minutes after lathering it throughout, and it brightens my highlighted hair without drying it out. It lathers up easily, and while, yes, it turns your hands a little purple (the salon grade products do that too, and it is purple shampoo after all), that is gone after you use some soap on them. Some reviewers complained of tangling, but my color-treated hair tangles after any shampooing. Conditioner–which all color-treated hair needs–takes care of that.C
I have used Loreal hair color for many years. I recently bought a Loreal hair color that included purple anti brass conditioner and shampoo. After using both I started losing a lot of hair. Nothing else has changed to account for this so I believe it was these two products. I only hope I can find a product that works to regrow my hair. I have been using the Unite 7 Seconds leave in conditioner for a few years. Normally I purchase it at a local salon but found this deal on Groupon so I decided to give it a try. It does not smell right. In fact, it smells pretty terrible. I m not sure if it is a counterfeit product or just sat on a shelf too long but it is definitely not the same as the product I purchased in the salon. Unfortunately there are no refunds/exchanges on this product so I may just throw it away because if it s not the real deal, I m not sure what it might do to my hair. Big bummer.
I have very fine hair that is highlighted. After washing my hair with Boosta shampoo and conditioner, I spritz this on. Great results with volume and beachy waves that hold. Docked a star because the smell is a bit strong on the harsher side – almost like pickles! It doesn't seem to make my hair smell but it's a bit rough when it is sprayed. So far the best Purple Shampoo I've found. I have not used it long but My hair shines and actually feels thicker and softer. It hasn't really taken out all my brassiness yet but maybe after a few more uses it will. I am transitioning from medium brown colored treated hair to my natural white/grey hair that I'm letting grow out. It is very fine so my hairdresser didn't want to bleach it anymore for fear of damaging it more to get the orange and yellow tone out of it. She just highlighted down to blendable with my natural white/grey hair. That is probably why not all the brassiness is coming out with the Purple Shampoo. I received this product in exchange for my honest review.This is a great sulfate free purple shampoo. It gently cleanses your hair. The shampoo provides some brightness to my highlights which have turned a bit brassy. I love that it is infused with cica, rice water and quinoa protein to help strengthen my strands and repair damage. I also love that you only leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes. It has a nice clean sent that I do appreciate. There’s only one downfall to the Shampoo for me. With that said, I will say that I have very tight curls with very dry hair. I need an obscene amount of hydration in my hair products to provide me enough moisture for my curls to not get tangled in knots. BEST acne product I have ever tried!!! Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2018 Reviews for this product (and most other acne-related products) are all over the spectrum as really good or really bad. That's normal, because products and specific ingredients work differently for everyone. Your skin texture, pores, natural pH, oil production, exfoliation, etc., etc., all impact how a product will work for YOU. I have had different variations of acne since I was about 12 years old. And that's another point…your skin and all of those factors change throughout your life. Age, climate, the air quality and environment where you live also impact your skin. And what you eat and drink has a HUGE impact as well! With that said, I will get off my soap box and get to the point! This product has worked VERY well for me. I have tried a LOT of different products, both over the counter and prescription. When I feel a blemish coming on, I dab it with this bottle of magic and it dramatically reduces how long it lasts AND how bad/big it gets. This is the only product I have ever used with this effectiveness, and I love it!!! I go to bed with multiple pink dots on my face almost every night (much to the chagrin of my husband!), and frequently those spots are close to non-existent in the morning. (TIP: Do NOT shake the bottle…the clear liquid and pink sediment are meant to be separated — read the instructions!) Give it a try. I hope you love this as much as I do. This drying lotion is magical!!! I use this overnight as a spot treatment on little suckers that pop up on my face, and by the morning they are barely noticeable! Since all pimples are different types, I’d say this tends to work really effectively on about 70% of mine. To be clear, this product dries out the pimple (so I’m not sure why Amazon asks reviewers to rate the moisturizing characteristic, as this does not moisturize). It doesn’t smell great, but it’s definitely tolerable. And it does leave a pink color on your skin when you apply it, so I would recommend only using it overnight or when you’re at home. Everyone has different skin, and therefore we all have a different reaction to the same product. I have combination skin that is very acne prone. I have gone through probably 7 bottles of this product. I kept using it without realizing that it was actually causing my breakouts due to drying out my skin. When your skin dries out and becomes flakey, it is likely to overproduce oil and breakout. I didn’t realize that and continued to buy the product. For me, my skin responds best to a simple skincare regimen of Retinol, moisturizer, and sunscreens. This helps with acne, fine lines, and sun damage. If acne is a big problem for you, keep your skincare routine simple and reach out to a dermatologist instead of wasting your money on products like this.lauren.m

I have NEVER had issues with shampoo/conditioner up until buying this. I have tried many different cheap shampoo/conditioners, and decided to splurge a little on this product after seeing some hairstylists on social media recommend this brand. Unfortunately I have similar experiences as other low reviews on this product. I have noticed that I am shedding a LOT more hair than normal in the shower. I have also noticed after 1-2 weeks of use that my hair has started to feel greasy and heavy. It almost feels like the product did not get washed out of my hair. At first I thought maybe this was my fault that I didn’t rinse it out well. But last night I made sure to do a thorough job rinsing out my hair, and woke up with my hair the greasiest it’s ever looked after a wash. I’ve never had a product do this to my hair. The only plus is that I love the scent of these products. I hope I will be able to return this.sarah
I’ve finally found the culprit for the damage my hair has been experiencing over the past few months. I first raised an eyebrow when my stylist pointed out dandruff, which I’ve never had before. I attributed this to buildup from dry shampoo, but after reading these reviews I now know that these products have caused the buildup and flakes. I’ve also lost a TON of hair. My hair is usually thick and full of body, but now I have to use tons of dry shampoo and styling tools to get it to look presentable. I wanted to love this brand and especially this product, but I can't. Everything was fine until about 2 weeks in to using the shampoo and conditioner. My scalp first started getting dry and itchy, which has never been a problem for me. About 3 weeks in, excessive amounts of hair started coming out when I washed or brushed my hair. My hair wasn't falling out in clumps, but it was more than normal, causing me to be concerned about the cause. About 1 month in, there was a lot of dandruff, irritation on my scalp, and parts of my scalp were getting crusty, almost like a had massive dandruff buildup. I want to preface this that I have never had any of these problems with other brands, including other inexpensive brands, high end brands, and custom shampoo. I used other Kristin Ess product including the scalp scrub, detangler, and the scalp every day conditioner. I stoped using these products and stuck with just the shampoo and conditioner to see if my symptoms improved. My symptoms continued to worsen and I realized that it was the shampoo and conditioner causing all of my problems. I even showed my hairdresser and she thought that the brand was good because it claims to be vegan and and lacks bad ingredients. There is something in these products that caused all of my symptoms and is not good at least for my hair type. I would strongly encourage using another brand to avoid dealing with the symptoms I experienced. I am not saying you will have the same problems, but for me, it was awful. I have naturally golden blonde hair but love to brighten it up with cooler and more platinum highlights: to keep the brightness of my highlights I use purple shampoo all the time. I have tried many igk products, but never their purple line. My last hair appointment got canceled and my hairdresser couldn't get me in for another month so hair was in desperate need of purple products when I received it. This shampoo along with the conditioner and toner spray but my hair back to life. It took the brassiness right away and brought back that cooler tone blonde I strive for. The shampoo didn't really have a smell. Not only was my hair brighter after use but it felt clean and moisturized as well. I also liked that the shampoo and other products didn't tinge my hair purple, like some other purple products I have used have. I like the idea of having a matching toning conditioner to go with a toning shampoo; in theory it sounds great. The Blonde Pop conditioner is okay but not exceptional and I think it could have been executed slightly better. It really doesn't have much in the way of toning properties like the shampoo does and considering that purple shampoos tend to be a little bit more drying, I was hoping that this conditioner would be slightly more hydrating / moisturizing to compensate for any extra dryness that might be incurred from the shampoo. That being said, this feels like a very basic conditioner. Those who have normal to slightly oily hair May find this amount of hydration completely sufficient but anyone who suffers from drier hair may find this slightly lacking. I don't think it's a bad product and I'm sure that there are people who will find this to be a great companion for the matching shampoo; for my hair type I just happened to wish that it gave me a little bit of some extra benefits that I'm not getting. Hair type: Thin, chemical damage, wavy, shoulder length My hair has been color treated with highlift blonde colors and high volume percent developer for years. It is somewhat dry due to the chemical treatments. When I began using the IGK Blonde Pop Toning Shampoo I found that just a small amount produced rich, thick suds. I left it on for 3 minutes. I followed it with the IGK Blonde Pop Conditioner and LA Blonde Purple Toning Treatment Spray. Even though the product is a bright purple, it does not impart any purple tones to my hair. The scent is just right, not overpowering. With just this first use of the 3 products I noticed an immediate reduction of the brassiness that I have due to the frequent coloring. These products bought out true blond tonal color in my hair. They also combined to make my hair softer, more manageable and have a beautiful shine. As I continued to use these 3 products together I saw less and less hints of any brassiness. My hair looks better now than it has in many years. I just started using this and so far I really love it! It smells great and makes my hair super soft!! I was using the Loreal Ever Pure purple shampoo and conditioner line but wanted to try something else so went for this, based on reviews. I found the smell to be nice and found that my hair was so much softer, as I typically have a tough time brushing/combing my hair after washing it. With this my wet brush glided right thru with little tugging on my hair. I have really long hair, that is almost to my mid -back.Sandra D

I feel like I've used every purple shampoo under the sun and this is hands down the best one I've used so far. It kicked out so much of the brassy color in just one use. Let me preface this by saying, yes, the purple helped tone my highlighted hair within the first use. I only use the conditioner, and I only wash my hair twice a week. It's okay at conditioning, but after just 2 uses, my hair felt almost sticky after air drying, and was frizzy and weighed down. That happens when there's too much buildup, and it can happen to my fine hair quickly (although never that quick.) I used a baking soda rinse as a clarifier and a different conditioner. Back to smooth, wavy hair. I can only use this every so often, and just for the toning aspect. Apparently it is low quality in terms of conditioner.Kayla
