I’ve been around the block when it comes to purple shampoos and this is one of the best ones I have tried, if not the best. I think one of the most annoying things about purple shampoos is how drying they can be on the hair but after using this my hair actually felt more hydrated. The toning on my hair was pretty significant as well, even without having my hair done in 4 months. When using purple shampoo I like to let it sit on my hair for a few minutes in the shower before rinsing off. I’ll admit I didn’t have high hopes for this but after using it it will definitely be a new staple in my routine! This conditioner tames my son's kinky, curly hair. He's got thick, dry hair which tangles easily. We tried this and I get a comb out in about 3 minutes, and his hair is to the middle of his back! It's thick and rich with a nice scent. Leaving some in after the shower works as an additional detangler also.The shampoo is very nice also. Now for a moment (or more accurately, more like several moments, as my review style tends to be on the longer and detailed side, generally) of truth for some of you who may have read my reviews on the Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner and Pureology Strength Cure Miracle Filler I received from Influenster recently may have been waiting for – here are my current thoughts and opinions on the Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo, which I also recently received in my Influenster VoxBox for testing purposes in exchange for my honest and complete review. Overall, there were and are quite a number of things about this shampoo with regards to the way it works with my current (used to be different when I was younger) hair type and condition. My current hair type of relatively thin/fine, ever so *slightly* wavy when it has not been straightened, and sort of a 'combination hair' type – tending to be drier and more prone to breakage near the tips, yet more oily to regular (depending on the day, time of day, weather, my activity level that day, etc) near the top/roots/my scalp area. Some of the things I loved most so far about this after having used this shampoo for probably about seven times or so since receiving it (sometimes my hair gets so oily towards the top – in the summer particularly, that I have to wash it twice a day!) are the light and pleasant, slightly fruity smell (it makes me think strawberries, somewhat), the smoothness of the product, how nicely it lathers, and how it, in combination with the Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner and Miracle Filler products that I also received from my box already seemed to have been making it significant difference to my hair's softness, strength, shine, and overall feeling of increased health. The main thing that I found problems *for me personally* about this shampoo, was that, while it generally has seemed to work very well for the mid-shafts to ends/tips of my hair in terms of nourishing and cleansing properties, unfortunately I found that on a number of occasions, it has not been quite cleansing or clarifying enough near my roots/scalp area for me to feel that that area of my hay was thoroughly clean – therefore, I personally had to either mix or follow up this shampoo with a different shampoo that I have found more clarifying for me personally (recently I have been using an Aussie brand shampoo – I think a volume one, but I can double check on that later). This is my genuine experience with the product so far, and I do hope it has helped you out too! My ethnicity is Asian – Chinese, specifically (my mother is from Hong Kong), and of European Jewish descent on my father's side of the family. Hopefully that may also help give you some baseline information about where my mixed-ancestry hair type originates from. This is a product that I would recommend most for people with regular to drier hair *or* for those of you who are like me with the 'combination hair' I described above, something that would be good to use on the mid-shafts to ends/tips of your hair. I like how my hair feels and the conditioner feels light and creamy. The smell is good. I think I’m seeing fewer flyaways and less frizz. Maybe it is actually strengthening my hair, but I’ve also been using a mini bottle of that 30 benefits leave-in spray-which I’m out of as of today. do notice my hair looking a bit greasy after just a day, but it is blonde-not color treated, and shows grease lines easily, especially since I’m back at work as a teacher spending much less time outside and there’s less sun now that it’s fall-and I’m down to a sulfate shampoo since ai didn’t receive the shampoo but I haven’t received the shampoo yet even though I ordered the duo. I want to try them all before investing in any liter bottles. Years back, my sister had me try her Nano Works in a light green bottle, and it was amazing, but that type is no longer made, and the Nano Gold is even more expensive than the others and not the same. I think this may be awesome-just the scent isn’t my favorite, but it’s really nice and so much better than anything else I have. First, a bit about my hair – so, you have a sense of comparison. My hair is straight and fine, but I have a lot of it, and it has been colored for years and years … everything from fashion colors to varying highlights to my current platinum hair. Basically, my hair was damaged, weak, and tired, my ends were incredibly dry, and, at one point, I even had massive breakage (as in clumps of hair breaking off when I brushed my hair – see photo). I have tried, what feels like, every single hair product known to man from supplements to specialized shampoo and conditioner to leave in conditioners to various oils – you get the idea (you can see some of those products in the background of the photo). So, I was a bit skeptical to try yet another “repair” shampoo, but I am thrilled that I did. Within the product description it states that the shampoo “instantly repairs and shows results after just one use” … well, that statement is true, at least for me. Normally when I wash my hair, after I rinse the shampoo, my ends still have texture to them (they still feel dry); however, after using the combination of BOTH the shampoo and conditioner, my ends felt as smooth as the rest of my hair. Honestly, I have not felt that smooth texture on my ends in years and years. I love that the formula contains less than 1% of synthetic fragrances (though it smells great), is 100% vegan and doesn’t contain parabens or Sulfates SLS or SLES. Yes, the price might seem high, however, you must consider that the shampoo is so highly formulated that one bottle allows for over 75+ shampoos … that’s right, 75+! This shampoo & conditioner did more for my hair in one single wash than any other product has done, period. My hair is much healthier and stronger singly handily because of this shampoo and conditioner. I’ve had it done before I know what’s normal and not for this process but it Has taken me months and months to regain some of the structure and strength back but only from using products like this. I have huge blonde hair care regiment but recently was sent this samples from Pinchme.com and I fell in love with this product the moroccanoil blonde perfecting shampoo and conditioner color care. I could tell after one use the different in my strands as far as they felt fuller softer and a lot stronger too. I have already purchased my own and is in its way in the mail as we speak. But I can’t say enough about the shampoo seriously the strength added to my hair after using and the toning feature was amazing. I have different depths of blonde and I felt that this made those lighter money pieces that perfect icy I’ve been looking for + strengthening in other product and only found here. Others I have to use separate product .. with moraccanoil u get it all in one tube!! Smell is beautiful the product color is rich purple and it won’t leave ur hair heavy or with residue. But clean and healthy feeling. I used as shampoo then rinsed … swueeze out all water from hair with hands and reapply from front hair line back to ur ends and massage thru without sudsing up the product and leave set for 10/15 minutes depending on how porous ur hair is. (Do this for more toning effect) Mines was needing toned again and is pretty porous so I left in longer… but not too long. Anyhow I’d recommend to anyone who has chemically treated and or damaged hair needing give it some TLC. Price is fair considering other brand and they dint work as well as this one trust me.. I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! I will definitely be buying both the shampoo and conditioner soon since I think both will help keep my hair healthy and a nice shade of blondechopper923
It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). But I would definitely recommend for colour improvement, brightening and lightening dullness in colour.irina.g

i got this conditioner because the ingredients looked legit and i thought i might as well try it out, and WOW it's so amazing for my hair! i have 3b-c curly hair and i use this conditioner all the time. it's so moisturizing and makes my hair super soft and really helps in delivering moisture deep into my hair so it lasts. not to mention it smells so amazing, kind of perfumy so if you have some sensitivities or allergies it might not be the best for you but if you don't it's a great smell. the texture is pretty thick and it does a great job moisturizing so i'm not sure if it would be the best for daily use but i use it every couple of days when i style my hair and after washing and it works great. overall, it's a great conditioner for my thick hair and i would totally recommenddrew
I used the Aluram Daily Clean beauty shampoo since the summer and my hair started going through its winter dry spell where more flakes were noticeable in my dark brown hair. Given that I loved the Daily Clean shampoo, I figured I'd try the Moisturizing shampoo. It unfortunately has not helped with moisturizing my scalp and preventing flakes. About a week ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair. I bought bleach and developed and started bleaching my hair. It did not go well. The next day, I went back to the store, looking for something to fix my at home bleach fail. I warmed up to my weird brassy orangeish yellow, so I decided I would stay blonde for a while, but I definitely want lighter hair. I bought the Violet crush shampoo and the conditioner, along with more bleach to fix some still very dark spots in my hair. After bleaching the dark spots out, turning them a weird light yellow, I washed my hair with this shampoo. I only left it in for a minute and it already made my hair look better and the color more even. Today, I decided to leave the shampoo in my hair for five minutes and I can see the difference. The lighter parts of my hair look better now. I'd definitely recommend using the Violet crush conditioner after the shampoo, though. Here’s what she had to say: Shampoo lathered well and very few tangles after conditioning. It did turn down the brassiness without making my hair look too ash blonde. I think for the price point it holds its own. I don’t like it as well as some similar shampoos and conditioners sold in salons, but I do like the price point! What I dislike: I was underwhelmed by the smell not a whole lot to it. One day after use my hair does feel a little more weighed down and more oily then normal. This conditioner is perfect for annihilating the brassiness my heavily-balayaged (naturally dark brown with reddish undertone) blonde highlights. It's nixed the need for toner, which is amazing. I have very hard water that turns my hair yellow/orange so I use this shampoo and the conditioner about every 2 weeks on my color treated hair. The directions say 1 minute but that didn't seem to do anything, so I leave the shampoo in about 2 minutes, rinse and then leave the conditioner in for 2 minutes and my blonde turns out nicer than when I first color it. I made the mistake (once) thinking the longer I left it in the whiter/blonder it would be and it dried my hair out terribly. I've been using this shampoo and conditioner for about a year now. Using this product with Biolage purple shampoo to tone my yellow ish tones that come out in summer. I prefer COOL blonde tones and this is a quick complimentary toner and conditioner. Most purple conditioners are pretty wea but this one is quite saturated Its a 1 minute conitioner but I leave in a couple more minutes brushing it through with the shower brush to remove all snarls. This is a pricey conditioner but seems to sink into hair so little waste to rinse out. My scalp comes out a little purple/blue here and there where roots have grown out but can blast those with the dark blonde Clairol temp hair color. I have mixed emotions for this product. Upon initial use, I fell in love with the smell but that was it. I wanted to love this so much, however, my hair fell like crazy in the shower. Came day 2, my hair didn’t fall that bad but I felt that the smell was too strong. I guess it’s safe to say that it’s heavily perfumed. Then came day 3 and so on.. I got used to the smell. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice. But it can be a bit too much for others. The consistency is also weird. While it does foam, I find that it’s jelly-like. I normally like a shampoo that’s a bit runny. This one just wasn’t. I don’t think it helped with toning my hair as well. After a while my scalp also felt itchy. Will I repurchase? Probably not but I’m open to trying their other shampoos.Regina
This purple shampoo is awesome! I bought this before I knew they carried the bigger bottles. I will definitely be back to purchase the bigger bottles of shampoo and conditioner. There’s a lot of negative reviews on this but you to each their own! I also see a lot of reviews with people who have blonde or lighter hair, but let me tell you, I’m a brunette and I absolutely love this. Why do I use purple instead of blue shampoo? Because I like warmer toned hair color. I originally had highlights that were beginning to get as orange as the rotting fall leaves. After fixing the color at home with DPHue at home, I really just wanted a low maintenance look and have my hair grow out. If you have dark hair, you really don’t have to dilute this shampoo out with your regular everyday shampoo (like it suggests on the bottle). If you have light hair, definitely recommend diluting it. I use this three times a week to start off with, then dialed it to twice and then finally once a week, once I achieved the tone I wanted. I love the smell that it leaves in my hair! It’s a light scent, and I like that it is I usually lather on the shampoo, working from the ends to the scalp. Why? The ends take it more of the product and it’s needed there more than the hair near your scalp. I also like that this product is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, gluten and drying alcohol. This shampoo and conditioner is meant for toning and toning only. Not for every day use. I would not recommend it for ever day use because 1) it’s spendy to use every day, and 2) there’s better products for every day use. My hair definitely feels stronger and looks healthier (less split ends) after about three weeks of use. Not sure how this shampoo worked for people. Obviously you’re buying this shampoo because you bleached and coloured your hair, so yes your hair already was damaged a bit. My hair wasn’t silky smooth to start, but it was decent and manageable and could style root to tip. Some of my highlights were turning a little orange and I was going out, I don’t use purple shampoo too often so I picked this up. I used it and left it on for about a minute (the smell was too strong and I didn’t want to smell like it plus it is very pigmented) conditioned with olaplex, and hopped out and air dried my hair (as usual). When brushing my hair, so much of it was breaking. Very slight split ends (since we bleached our hair right?) are curling up and extending up the follicle and breaking. I’m mortified and have to get my hair cut. I’ve been working really hard to keep my hair healthy and didn’t think one purple shampoo wash would destroy it this bad. Any purple shampoo will dry your hair out to an extent, but should never be to the point you have to chop your hair off. Just put the extra money and/or time on a better toning shampoo. I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I tried some different shampoos and conditioners and none seemed better than the others. I was having a particular problem with tangles when my hair was wet. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I would still love a fragrance free or more subtle natural fragrance option but it is getting the results I wanted so I plan to keep using it.Lucy
I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. This shampoo leaves my hair silky, smooth and doesn't fade my colored hair either. While Opalex made my hair feel like straw hair. I highly recommend this shampoo if you want silky smooth hair. My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! I was using the Loreal Ever Pure purple shampoo and conditioner line but wanted to try something else so went for this, based on reviews. Let me preface this by saying, yes, the purple helped tone my highlighted hair within the first use. I only use the conditioner, and I only wash my hair twice a week. It's okay at conditioning, but after just 2 uses, my hair felt almost sticky after air drying, and was frizzy and weighed down. That happens when there's too much buildup, and it can happen to my fine hair quickly (although never that quick.) I used a baking soda rinse as a clarifier and a different conditioner. Back to smooth, wavy hair. I can only use this every so often, and just for the toning aspect. Apparently it is low quality in terms of conditioner.Kayla

I love this stuff and can't get enough of it! my 3rd bottle already and it's the only purple shampoo I trust for my blonde highlights! Loooove the smell especially! it's not a drying formula unlike any other purple shampoos I tried which is also another major plus. What I do is I dampened the hair slightly with just a lil bit of water then I squeeze a good amount on my palm (more than they recommend on the bottle) and place it all over my blonde highlights. I leave it on for 30-45 mins and then properly rinse it. This technique uses a lot more product than what's recommended on the bottle but I noticed that this way the brassiness stays gone for a month long so I only need to do this once a month. I could not recommend this shampoo and my technique enough! I love love love this shampoo!Sha
TLDR – great shampoo, horrible packaging I love this shampoo! Smells so good and has made a huge difference in my hair color. However, that packaging is horrible. The shampoo is constantly leaking out of the top of the lid. Every time I get in the shower, every other product even remotely near it is covered in a purple layer of shampoo. I should have caught the red flag when every other bottle in store was leaking and I thought I had found the one bottle that wasn’t leaking. Conditioner doesn’t have same issue… I wonder why. I feel like I’ve lost half the bottle by it just leaking out. Product could be vastly improved by putting it in a bottle that does its’ job.Disappointed

I wish this had existed decades ago. I'm a natural brunette who has been every color in the rainbow and has fought unwanted reddish orange undertones. I'm 51 and have been coloring my hair since 13. I hate most Ash boxed dyes as they are harsh looking. I recently bleached out several years of black dude from my now salt and pepper hair, suffered with a too light for me blonde because of damage, and was finally able to get to a dark ash blonde only to see it become orangey after a week. Enter this shampoo. I lathered up, let it sit while I washed and shaved, rinsed, conditioned and dried my hair. It looked amazing! And it felt great too! I've seen others use this on YouTube and you can plainly see their after results leaves their hair looking in better condition than before. That's what prompted me to try this one. I never really write reviews unless I believe in the product. And let me tell you I've only used this product for one day and absolutely love it! I'm usually a Redken frizz dismiss person but I figured I would try something new based on the reviews. I ran out of redken during this quarantine and ended up having to use drug store shampoo for awhile until I got my order. My hair was so dry and stringy and hard to brush because of it. I couldn't wait to use the shampoo and conditioner to relief my hair and it was so instantaneous!! As soon as I rinsed out the conditioner my hair felt so quenched and smooth! When I dried it out (only with a blow dryer and brush!) my hair was so soft and easy to run my fingers through. It never got tangled and I honestly couldn't stop touching my hair. Wow!! This is the best purple shampoo I have ever used. I just had my hair bleached again and my stylist recommended this shampoo to me. When i used it, I accidentally left it on a couple minutes more than the recommended 2-3 minutes and I was terrified it was going to be a disaster. I have a bayalage with my natural dark warm blonde at the top/middle fading into very bleached hair. Anyone who has had their hair like this knows your natural hair won't change tone like the bleached hair will, and I've had purple shampoos leave me with a mess of warm dark blonde with super grey/silver on the lighter parts, with muddiness and patchiness until I washed it a couple more times. After rinsing and drying my hair, I saw that while it did remove the warmth from my bleached ends and highlights, somehow it melted all the shades together beautifully and there is no patchiness between the differing shades. This is a winner and I doubt I'll change to another purple shampoo now that I've found this. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for a really high quality purple shampoo!Emily

Holy COW , this WORKS !!! I have struggled to find a purple shampoo that actually does anything. A little background on my hair. I often will go get my hair done and then life will happen and it’ll be like 9 months to a year before I get back around to coming back again. I thought my brassy, horrific mop was beyond saving but I was wrong. I tried this in the shower and didn’t lather up with it. I smoothed 2x the amount I would use to wash my hair throughout, concentrating on the ends especially. I then went about washing my face and body. I probably left it on about 6 minutes. The first time I used the shampoo I didn’t see a huge difference and I thought well okay I expected that. But the SECOND time I used this as I described, the next morning I woke up and every single bit of the brassiness is gone. I am shocked. My blonde is gorgeous and icy again. The only thing I don’t like about this shampoo is that, while it is not drying, it leaves a weird film on the hair. But that could be removed by doing a second wash with a different shampoo. I used this product on my brown hair to blonde bayalage. I had very prominent yellow streaks in parts of my hair that hadn't been bleached before so with proper maintenance I used this product and the shampoo 2x a week and it kept the yellow from coming through for about a week before I would have to use it again. went through the entire bottles, never wasted a drop. I love my blonde hair, but it can be a pain to keep up with. I bought this as a two pack on Amazon. I used it for the full year I had platinum blonde hair. I’ll be honest, I just use purple shampoo because my stylist says I should. I never really notice a difference when I use it or I don’t. I do like this one, but I’m currently using another brand I like more. This one did clean my hair, but it just didn’t suds up like I like it to. I left it on my hair for as long as possible. I like the bottle how sleek it is and the pump is wonderful too! Wow! This shampoo really impressed me❣💜 I wasn't expecting too drastic of a toning effect from this but was surprised. Ulta had it on sale for half off, and I just wanted to try something different than my usual stuff. My hair is light brown with blonde highlights so this helps give the highlights more shine and depth. My hair literally gleams when the sun hits it. I have tried another toning shampoo in the past from Tigi (Catwalk Violet shampoo) and that one also was amazing, but harder to find now. This one is just as great though, if not better! Light citrusy scent, nothing crazy. It lathers well and my hair stays oil free for at least 2 days after shampooing. Overall I would totally buy this again recommend 😊becca.v

This purple shampoo is doing great to help my bleached highlights to turn and stay in grey color as it should be! The cons is just the coloring would really stain your hands with a slight blue/purple tint. Wear gloves if you want, but i just use it with bear hands. I have been using the Unite 7 Seconds leave in conditioner for a few years. Normally I purchase it at a local salon but found this deal on Groupon so I decided to give it a try. It does not smell right. In fact, it smells pretty terrible. I m not sure if it is a counterfeit product or just sat on a shelf too long but it is definitely not the same as the product I purchased in the salon. Unfortunately there are no refunds/exchanges on this product so I may just throw it away because if it s not the real deal, I m not sure what it might do to my hair. Big bummer.
I have very fine hair that is highlighted. After washing my hair with Boosta shampoo and conditioner, I spritz this on. Great results with volume and beachy waves that hold. Docked a star because the smell is a bit strong on the harsher side – almost like pickles! It doesn't seem to make my hair smell but it's a bit rough when it is sprayed. Surprising because usually Unite products have a great smell. I am too happy with the results to return it but REALLY hope they work on improving the scent!!Anonymous

I've often found that purple shampoos can strip my already fragile processed hair, or actually just turn it purple. This does neither, and gently removes brassy tones. I leave it on anywhere between 3-7 minutes and it's foolproof. I only use a small amount at a time, and I've found that using it once a week the bottle will last me a year, easily.
