I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I would still love a fragrance free or more subtle natural fragrance option but it is getting the results I wanted so I plan to keep using it.Lucy
I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! I’ve been around the block when it comes to purple shampoos and this is one of the best ones I have tried, if not the best. I think one of the most annoying things about purple shampoos is how drying they can be on the hair but after using this my hair actually felt more hydrated. The toning on my hair was pretty significant as well, even without having my hair done in 4 months. When using purple shampoo I like to let it sit on my hair for a few minutes in the shower before rinsing off. I’ll admit I didn’t have high hopes for this but after using it it will definitely be a new staple in my routine! Now for a moment (or more accurately, more like several moments, as my review style tends to be on the longer and detailed side, generally) of truth for some of you who may have read my reviews on the Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner and Pureology Strength Cure Miracle Filler I received from Influenster recently may have been waiting for – here are my current thoughts and opinions on the Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo, which I also recently received in my Influenster VoxBox for testing purposes in exchange for my honest and complete review. Overall, there were and are quite a number of things about this shampoo with regards to the way it works with my current (used to be different when I was younger) hair type and condition. My current hair type of relatively thin/fine, ever so *slightly* wavy when it has not been straightened, and sort of a 'combination hair' type – tending to be drier and more prone to breakage near the tips, yet more oily to regular (depending on the day, time of day, weather, my activity level that day, etc) near the top/roots/my scalp area. Some of the things I loved most so far about this after having used this shampoo for probably about seven times or so since receiving it (sometimes my hair gets so oily towards the top – in the summer particularly, that I have to wash it twice a day!) are the light and pleasant, slightly fruity smell (it makes me think strawberries, somewhat), the smoothness of the product, how nicely it lathers, and how it, in combination with the Pureology Strength Cure Conditioner and Miracle Filler products that I also received from my box already seemed to have been making it significant difference to my hair's softness, strength, shine, and overall feeling of increased health. The main thing that I found problems *for me personally* about this shampoo, was that, while it generally has seemed to work very well for the mid-shafts to ends/tips of my hair in terms of nourishing and cleansing properties, unfortunately I found that on a number of occasions, it has not been quite cleansing or clarifying enough near my roots/scalp area for me to feel that that area of my hay was thoroughly clean – therefore, I personally had to either mix or follow up this shampoo with a different shampoo that I have found more clarifying for me personally (recently I have been using an Aussie brand shampoo – I think a volume one, but I can double check on that later). This is my genuine experience with the product so far, and I do hope it has helped you out too! My ethnicity is Asian – Chinese, specifically (my mother is from Hong Kong), and of European Jewish descent on my father's side of the family. Hopefully that may also help give you some baseline information about where my mixed-ancestry hair type originates from. This is a product that I would recommend most for people with regular to drier hair *or* for those of you who are like me with the 'combination hair' I described above, something that would be good to use on the mid-shafts to ends/tips of your hair. I like how my hair feels and the conditioner feels light and creamy. The smell is good. I think I’m seeing fewer flyaways and less frizz. Maybe it is actually strengthening my hair, but I’ve also been using a mini bottle of that 30 benefits leave-in spray-which I’m out of as of today. do notice my hair looking a bit greasy after just a day, but it is blonde-not color treated, and shows grease lines easily, especially since I’m back at work as a teacher spending much less time outside and there’s less sun now that it’s fall-and I’m down to a sulfate shampoo since ai didn’t receive the shampoo but I haven’t received the shampoo yet even though I ordered the duo. I want to try them all before investing in any liter bottles. Years back, my sister had me try her Nano Works in a light green bottle, and it was amazing, but that type is no longer made, and the Nano Gold is even more expensive than the others and not the same. First, a bit about my hair – so, you have a sense of comparison. My hair is straight and fine, but I have a lot of it, and it has been colored for years and years … everything from fashion colors to varying highlights to my current platinum hair. Basically, my hair was damaged, weak, and tired, my ends were incredibly dry, and, at one point, I even had massive breakage (as in clumps of hair breaking off when I brushed my hair – see photo). I have tried, what feels like, every single hair product known to man from supplements to specialized shampoo and conditioner to leave in conditioners to various oils – you get the idea (you can see some of those products in the background of the photo). So, I was a bit skeptical to try yet another “repair” shampoo, but I am thrilled that I did. Within the product description it states that the shampoo “instantly repairs and shows results after just one use” … well, that statement is true, at least for me. Normally when I wash my hair, after I rinse the shampoo, my ends still have texture to them (they still feel dry); however, after using the combination of BOTH the shampoo and conditioner, my ends felt as smooth as the rest of my hair. Honestly, I have not felt that smooth texture on my ends in years and years. I love that the formula contains less than 1% of synthetic fragrances (though it smells great), is 100% vegan and doesn’t contain parabens or Sulfates SLS or SLES. Yes, the price might seem high, however, you must consider that the shampoo is so highly formulated that one bottle allows for over 75+ shampoos … that’s right, 75+! This shampoo & conditioner did more for my hair in one single wash than any other product has done, period. My hair is much healthier and stronger singly handily because of this shampoo and conditioner. i got this conditioner because the ingredients looked legit and i thought i might as well try it out, and WOW it's so amazing for my hair! i have 3b-c curly hair and i use this conditioner all the time. it's so moisturizing and makes my hair super soft and really helps in delivering moisture deep into my hair so it lasts. not to mention it smells so amazing, kind of perfumy so if you have some sensitivities or allergies it might not be the best for you but if you don't it's a great smell. the texture is pretty thick and it does a great job moisturizing so i'm not sure if it would be the best for daily use but i use it every couple of days when i style my hair and after washing and it works great. overall, it's a great conditioner for my thick hair and i would totally recommenddrew

About a week ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair. I bought bleach and developed and started bleaching my hair. It did not go well. The next day, I went back to the store, looking for something to fix my at home bleach fail. I warmed up to my weird brassy orangeish yellow, so I decided I would stay blonde for a while, but I definitely want lighter hair. I bought the Violet crush shampoo and the conditioner, along with more bleach to fix some still very dark spots in my hair. After bleaching the dark spots out, turning them a weird light yellow, I washed my hair with this shampoo. I only left it in for a minute and it already made my hair look better and the color more even. Today, I decided to leave the shampoo in my hair for five minutes and I can see the difference. The lighter parts of my hair look better now. I'd definitely recommend using the Violet crush conditioner after the shampoo, though. My hair did feel very dry after I rinsed it, but the conditioner made my hair nice and soft. Both, the shampoo and the conditioner smell really nice, too.Darja

Here’s what she had to say: Shampoo lathered well and very few tangles after conditioning. It did turn down the brassiness without making my hair look too ash blonde. I think for the price point it holds its own. I don’t like it as well as some similar shampoos and conditioners sold in salons, but I do like the price point! What I dislike: I was underwhelmed by the smell not a whole lot to it. One day after use my hair does feel a little more weighed down and more oily then normal. I have mixed emotions for this product. Upon initial use, I fell in love with the smell but that was it. I wanted to love this so much, however, my hair fell like crazy in the shower. Came day 2, my hair didn’t fall that bad but I felt that the smell was too strong. I guess it’s safe to say that it’s heavily perfumed. Then came day 3 and so on.. I got used to the smell. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice. But it can be a bit too much for others. The consistency is also weird. While it does foam, I find that it’s jelly-like. I normally like a shampoo that’s a bit runny. This one just wasn’t. I don’t think it helped with toning my hair as well. After a while my scalp also felt itchy. Will I repurchase? Probably not but I’m open to trying their other shampoos.Regina
This purple shampoo is awesome! I bought this before I knew they carried the bigger bottles. I will definitely be back to purchase the bigger bottles of shampoo and conditioner. There’s a lot of negative reviews on this but you to each their own! I also see a lot of reviews with people who have blonde or lighter hair, but let me tell you, I’m a brunette and I absolutely love this. Why do I use purple instead of blue shampoo? Because I like warmer toned hair color. I originally had highlights that were beginning to get as orange as the rotting fall leaves. After fixing the color at home with DPHue at home, I really just wanted a low maintenance look and have my hair grow out. If you have dark hair, you really don’t have to dilute this shampoo out with your regular everyday shampoo (like it suggests on the bottle). If you have light hair, definitely recommend diluting it. I use this three times a week to start off with, then dialed it to twice and then finally once a week, once I achieved the tone I wanted. I love the smell that it leaves in my hair! It’s a light scent, and I like that it is I usually lather on the shampoo, working from the ends to the scalp. Why? The ends take it more of the product and it’s needed there more than the hair near your scalp. I also like that this product is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, gluten and drying alcohol. This shampoo and conditioner is meant for toning and toning only. Not for every day use. I would not recommend it for ever day use because 1) it’s spendy to use every day, and 2) there’s better products for every day use. My hair definitely feels stronger and looks healthier (less split ends) after about three weeks of use. Not sure how this shampoo worked for people. Obviously you’re buying this shampoo because you bleached and coloured your hair, so yes your hair already was damaged a bit. My hair wasn’t silky smooth to start, but it was decent and manageable and could style root to tip. Some of my highlights were turning a little orange and I was going out, I don’t use purple shampoo too often so I picked this up. I used it and left it on for about a minute (the smell was too strong and I didn’t want to smell like it plus it is very pigmented) conditioned with olaplex, and hopped out and air dried my hair (as usual). When brushing my hair, so much of it was breaking. Very slight split ends (since we bleached our hair right?) are curling up and extending up the follicle and breaking. I’m mortified and have to get my hair cut. I’ve been working really hard to keep my hair healthy and didn’t think one purple shampoo wash would destroy it this bad. Any purple shampoo will dry your hair out to an extent, but should never be to the point you have to chop your hair off. Just put the extra money and/or time on a better toning shampoo. So my hair was damaged from bad salon experience and left there with blonde hair alright but also alotta my hair falling out too…. More than I should’ve had. I’ve had it done before I know what’s normal and not for this process but it Has taken me months and months to regain some of the structure and strength back but only from using products like this. I have huge blonde hair care regiment but recently was sent this samples from Pinchme.com and I fell in love with this product the moroccanoil blonde perfecting shampoo and conditioner color care. I could tell after one use the different in my strands as far as they felt fuller softer and a lot stronger too. I have already purchased my own and is in its way in the mail as we speak. But I can’t say enough about the shampoo seriously the strength added to my hair after using and the toning feature was amazing. I have different depths of blonde and I felt that this made those lighter money pieces that perfect icy I’ve been looking for + strengthening in other product and only found here. Others I have to use separate product .. with moraccanoil u get it all in one tube!! Smell is beautiful the product color is rich purple and it won’t leave ur hair heavy or with residue. But clean and healthy feeling. I used as shampoo then rinsed … swueeze out all water from hair with hands and reapply from front hair line back to ur ends and massage thru without sudsing up the product and leave set for 10/15 minutes depending on how porous ur hair is. (Do this for more toning effect) Mines was needing toned again and is pretty porous so I left in longer… but not too long. Anyhow I’d recommend to anyone who has chemically treated and or damaged hair needing give it some TLC. Price is fair considering other brand and they dint work as well as this one trust me.. I’ve wasted a lot of money trying to find the right ones to maintain my blond locks!! Also I left my conditioner in for about 5minutes too. But my hair is very dry of course. Thus those luxurious healing oils in moroccanoil products… u get more strength tans healing from them than any other!! I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! I will definitely be buying both the shampoo and conditioner soon since I think both will help keep my hair healthy and a nice shade of blondechopper923
It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). But I would definitely recommend for colour improvement, brightening and lightening dullness in colour.irina.g

I would totally buy it again and have already recommended it to anyone with ears and gray or highlighted or blonde hair! It smells amazing and I see an instant brightening go my highlights… I mean Hey, if your going to spend an arm and a leg getting great highlights, you should have the most amazing tools to care for them. I received this product in exchange for a review. This product works pretty well but not out of the ballpark amazing. I am 6 months pregnant right now and currently have a hard time keeping up on my platinum blonde hair. That being said thai product is pretty concentrated and does it's job pretty well for the ends of my hair that are still very much blonde. I really don't like the smell of this shampoo I think it is overwhelmingly resemblance of being in a salon and am pretty glad the scent does not continue far beyond the rinse. As for if it improved my hair structure I would say I didn't see any improvement there at all but I still have a full bottle despite using it daily. The yellow tone though is pretty much gone though. I would recommend it if it were drastically price cut because the price tag associated with this product is way too high in my opinion I've used other products under 10 dollars with the same results that you can easily pick up at your local store.Hefaroni26
I know the going trend is purple/grey platinum blonde, which I don't think this would be the best for, but if u want to keep your warmth without being brassy, this works better than any purple shampoos I've used. I have a lot of Irish heritage, pale skin and eyes, lots of light freckling in sun touched spots and firey red and gold inside my naturally brown follicles that shines very brightly in sun light. The warmth has become more pronounced with age and even the stripes of brunette that are left untouched after doing lightening balayage are a redening chestnut/auburn. the warm blonde really compliments my coloring so I'm not complaining, I just don't want it to be too yellow or too brassy. all of the other purple shampoos I have tried made my hair look almost green, even redken which I read was specifically recommended by experts for warm blondes, and it didn't matter how quick I rinsed it out after applying,, it clashed with my hair coloring so badly.. I hated it. I was so thrilled to try this and find it actually worked perfectly, no brassy-ness or ugly yellow, just perfectly golden honey warm blonde and auburn/chestnut. I love ash blonde and the purple tinted platinum but this happy accident of a warm hair color works better on me than I'd have imagined and I'm so thrilled to find a way to maintain it. idk about it being drying like some others said, I've found all purple shampoos to be a little drying, I assumed because they lather so well and also I do a pre-wash so there's no product impeding it. having color treated hair, I always add lots of super conditioning products, hydraters and proteins treatments before I'm done on wash day and also being a warm blonde, I only use purple shampoo once a month, preferably when it's time for a clarifying cleanse and I do an oil treatment the night before. I tried to get a pic of the hair but it doesn't do justice and I gtg but u get an idea. also thanks to quarantine, I haven't had any coloring in a year.SNikic

This will remain my favorite purple shampoo! I love this stuff. I have medium/light(ish) blonde hair that tends to get brassy quick. I read the reviews on Amazon first before purchasing and fell in love. This shampoo is a deep deep purple, and it will stain your hands if you don't rinse them off. First hand experience here *pun intended* The smell of it wasn't gross like some other brands (looking at you Clairol Shimmer Lights). It actually will turn your hair ashy! I left this stuff on for ten minutes and I had that beautiful ash (almost purple tone) to it, which I don't mind. Less time left on, you'll still see results. This shampoo is amazing. Ive recently bleached my own hair and then had highlights and still had a very yellow colour due to my hair being box dyed brown for so long. I tried toners I tried other purple shampoos but nothing worked. I tried this and the first time the difference was amazing. I used it again yesterday and its even better. My hair is no longer yellow. It does dry hair up like most of these things but Ive been going through a process with other well known repairing products which means Its cancelling out the dryness from using this. The product is very purple And like others say it does stain your hands but Ive found after standing in the shower while the shampoo is on I dont really notice it on my hands anymore once Im done. I try to leave on for about 5 minutes but havent timed it so not sure. Put it this way it doesnt need long. No need to walk around the house for an hour wrapper in cling film to let it process. I primarily bought this brush set for metal ball eye cream applicator but I wound up loving all of the brushes in the set too. These were brushes that I never thought that I needed and wouldn’t use…but I was wrong. The lip scrub brush is amazing at getting the job done without getting the “goopy fingerâ€� from greasy scrubs. The dry brush is the perfect texture for light exfoliation, and doesn’t redden or irritate sensitive skin. The eye cream applicator feels amazing on tired, puffy eyes. I use the mask brush for primer application and I love how evenly it spreads the product. All of the brushes and the eye tool hold up to cleaning exceptionally well. I wish this had existed decades ago. I'm a natural brunette who has been every color in the rainbow and has fought unwanted reddish orange undertones. I'm 51 and have been coloring my hair since 13. I hate most Ash boxed dyes as they are harsh looking. I recently bleached out several years of black dude from my now salt and pepper hair, suffered with a too light for me blonde because of damage, and was finally able to get to a dark ash blonde only to see it become orangey after a week. Enter this shampoo. I lathered up, let it sit while I washed and shaved, rinsed, conditioned and dried my hair. It looked amazing! And it felt great too! I've seen others use this on YouTube and you can plainly see their after results leaves their hair looking in better condition than before. That's what prompted me to try this one. When I think of decades of living with beautiful brown shades that went reddish orange, it's maddening. All I needed was this. I never really write reviews unless I believe in the product. And let me tell you I've only used this product for one day and absolutely love it! I'm usually a Redken frizz dismiss person but I figured I would try something new based on the reviews. I ran out of redken during this quarantine and ended up having to use drug store shampoo for awhile until I got my order. My hair was so dry and stringy and hard to brush because of it. I couldn't wait to use the shampoo and conditioner to relief my hair and it was so instantaneous!! As soon as I rinsed out the conditioner my hair felt so quenched and smooth! When I dried it out (only with a blow dryer and brush!) my hair was so soft and easy to run my fingers through. It never got tangled and I honestly couldn't stop touching my hair. Even my fiancée and I woke up to my hair being so nice and soft this morning! We were both amazed! I also had a balayage a few months ago that I let grow out. And this product really brightened my hair up just from one wash. It has a great salon smell too. Not too over powering but not to the point you can't smell it. Wow!! This is the best purple shampoo I have ever used. I just had my hair bleached again and my stylist recommended this shampoo to me. When i used it, I accidentally left it on a couple minutes more than the recommended 2-3 minutes and I was terrified it was going to be a disaster. I have a bayalage with my natural dark warm blonde at the top/middle fading into very bleached hair. Anyone who has had their hair like this knows your natural hair won't change tone like the bleached hair will, and I've had purple shampoos leave me with a mess of warm dark blonde with super grey/silver on the lighter parts, with muddiness and patchiness until I washed it a couple more times. After rinsing and drying my hair, I saw that while it did remove the warmth from my bleached ends and highlights, somehow it melted all the shades together beautifully and there is no patchiness between the differing shades. This is a winner and I doubt I'll change to another purple shampoo now that I've found this. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for a really high quality purple shampoo!Emily

I don’t remember if i bought this at target or somewhere else but still writing review. i used sunbum hair lighter (i have dirty blonde almost brown hair) and i guess i used too much bc my turned bleach blonde within a week. i then had some orange tones to my hair and i was recommended purple shampoo by a friend. it works and my orange tones went away and many people think i got real highlights. so thanks sumbum you helped me fix the problem yall gave me 🙂 i attached before and aftergreat
I love this stuff and can't get enough of it! my 3rd bottle already and it's the only purple shampoo I trust for my blonde highlights! Loooove the smell especially! it's not a drying formula unlike any other purple shampoos I tried which is also another major plus. What I do is I dampened the hair slightly with just a lil bit of water then I squeeze a good amount on my palm (more than they recommend on the bottle) and place it all over my blonde highlights. I leave it on for 30-45 mins and then properly rinse it. This technique uses a lot more product than what's recommended on the bottle but I noticed that this way the brassiness stays gone for a month long so I only need to do this once a month. I could not recommend this shampoo and my technique enough! I love love love this shampoo!Sha
TLDR – great shampoo, horrible packaging I love this shampoo! Smells so good and has made a huge difference in my hair color. However, that packaging is horrible. The shampoo is constantly leaking out of the top of the lid. Every time I get in the shower, every other product even remotely near it is covered in a purple layer of shampoo. I should have caught the red flag when every other bottle in store was leaking and I thought I had found the one bottle that wasn’t leaking. Conditioner doesn’t have same issue… I wonder why. I feel like I’ve lost half the bottle by it just leaking out. Product could be vastly improved by putting it in a bottle that does its’ job.Disappointed

Used it the first time and didn’t notice any change (meaning I still retained the brassy yellow in my white streak). Used it again according to the directions. YIKES!!! Dry hair revealed that my brassy yellow-tinged white streak was still brassy yellow, but the silver and white sides of my hair were PURPLE! I mean true, lilac purple. Like those little lavender haired old ladies you see at the retirement home. For real. I have washed and conditioned twice (using “regular” products), and still purple. This works, and you can't beat the price! I leave it on for about 3 minutes after lathering it throughout, and it brightens my highlighted hair without drying it out. It lathers up easily, and while, yes, it turns your hands a little purple (the salon grade products do that too, and it is purple shampoo after all), that is gone after you use some soap on them. Some reviewers complained of tangling, but my color-treated hair tangles after any shampooing. Conditioner–which all color-treated hair needs–takes care of that.C
I have used Loreal hair color for many years. I recently bought a Loreal hair color that included purple anti brass conditioner and shampoo. After using both I started losing a lot of hair. Nothing else has changed to account for this so I believe it was these two products. I only hope I can find a product that works to regrow my hair. I bought this as a two pack on Amazon. I used it for the full year I had platinum blonde hair. I’ll be honest, I just use purple shampoo because my stylist says I should. I never really notice a difference when I use it or I don’t. I do like this one, but I’m currently using another brand I like more. This one did clean my hair, but it just didn’t suds up like I like it to. I left it on my hair for as long as possible. I like the bottle how sleek it is and the pump is wonderful too! Wow! This shampoo really impressed me❣💜 I wasn't expecting too drastic of a toning effect from this but was surprised. Ulta had it on sale for half off, and I just wanted to try something different than my usual stuff. My hair is light brown with blonde highlights so this helps give the highlights more shine and depth. My hair literally gleams when the sun hits it. I have tried another toning shampoo in the past from Tigi (Catwalk Violet shampoo) and that one also was amazing, but harder to find now. This one is just as great though, if not better! Light citrusy scent, nothing crazy. It lathers well and my hair stays oil free for at least 2 days after shampooing. Overall I would totally buy this again recommend 😊becca.v

I have been using the Unite 7 Seconds leave in conditioner for a few years. Normally I purchase it at a local salon but found this deal on Groupon so I decided to give it a try. It does not smell right. In fact, it smells pretty terrible. I m not sure if it is a counterfeit product or just sat on a shelf too long but it is definitely not the same as the product I purchased in the salon. Unfortunately there are no refunds/exchanges on this product so I may just throw it away because if it s not the real deal, I m not sure what it might do to my hair. Big bummer.
I have very fine hair that is highlighted. After washing my hair with Boosta shampoo and conditioner, I spritz this on. Great results with volume and beachy waves that hold. Docked a star because the smell is a bit strong on the harsher side – almost like pickles! It doesn't seem to make my hair smell but it's a bit rough when it is sprayed. Surprising because usually Unite products have a great smell. I am too happy with the results to return it but REALLY hope they work on improving the scent!!Anonymous

First time trying a purple shampoo that is not from a professional beauty brand and I am pleased! The scent is very nice and leaves your hair smelling wonderful! The color of the shampoo is very dark purple and contains a lot of pigment, which I like because it makes me feel like the product works better at knocking out the brass. This lathered better than other purple shampoos that I have tried. I have only used once and I already saw a change in the tone of my hair. It definitely works! I will continue to use to see even better results. The good thing is this is way more reasonably priced than other well known brands! I received this product complimentary in a voxbox. I will say this product definitely works. However I have red hair not blonde. It did strip out some of the darker tones in my hair making it lighter (I didn’t hate the end result). This shampoo is not recommended for red hair especially red hair that is dyed. Although most red dyes have purple deposits and red deposits in them the purple cancels out the yellow/ golden tones. Overall the product did as it described it smells amazing and you do definitely get results from day one. I have rated this five stars as I continually rebut this product. It’s always In my bathroom. I have naturally blonde hair which I do have coloured every few months to lighten it a little and this really helps to re brighten my hair. I will say however that I have to change my shampoo and conditioner regularly as it almost stops working on my hair but I do always go back to this product however I only use this a few times a month, and it helps maintain not only my colour but doesn’t strip my hair and make it feel dry when washed. I also love the biotin and collagen shampoo/conditioner by OGX, these are great products which can be used daily without the overuse of chemicals that lost shampoos have in them.katie.p

So far the best Purple Shampoo I've found. I have not used it long but My hair shines and actually feels thicker and softer. It hasn't really taken out all my brassiness yet but maybe after a few more uses it will. I am transitioning from medium brown colored treated hair to my natural white/grey hair that I'm letting grow out. It is very fine so my hairdresser didn't want to bleach it anymore for fear of damaging it more to get the orange and yellow tone out of it. She just highlighted down to blendable with my natural white/grey hair. That is probably why not all the brassiness is coming out with the Purple Shampoo. This is a top of the line Shampoo and I have the Silver Lining Butter Masque too, which I love and recommend everyone to try if you are transiting to white/grey hair like me. I wanted to try blue toning shampoo and bought the trial sizes to give this a shot. I have always used purple and saw very little results. I read the directions very quickly, I didn't use gloves and I used a white towel to try my hair. I didn't even think of the blue color that was deposited into my hair I used this product for the first time yesterday and all I can say is WOW! I did see blue everywhere but it didn't stain my shower, hands, nails or my towels. My highlights looked brighter and I think I even saw more of them and I was impressed with just one use. The smell was nice but I thought it was too strong but once you dry your hair the smell disappears. Not sure if I will use this shampoo more than maybe once or twice a week because I don't want to darken my highlight I just want to see less brass and red. If you are hesitant to try this product because of the blue color you could use gloves and I would definitely use it in the shower so that the product washes out once it hits the floor you could even keep a brush in your shower if you want to make sure no blue residue lingers behind. All toning shampoos have color the purple once I used before does and I never had an issue. Everyone's experience is different but I would definitely give this product a try.Tophersmom
I haven't changed anything in my hair care routine except this. The first time I used it, meh it did the job and made my hair a lot brighter. Mind you I only use this twice a month because purple shampoo is so harsh. The second time I used this, HOLY DRYNESS. It literally sucked every bit of moisture out of my hair and turned my hair silver, which was fine, but I looked like a hag due to the frizz. I've never experienced such harshness from a product. I've had to completely reset my hair by not putting any heat or this shampoo on my hair for a month. It ruined my hair for my graduation and I couldn't be anymore disappointed in this product. Not to mention it doesn't lather at all and I felt like I had to use a ton of it to clean my hair. This product really does reverse brassy tones, but it isn't worth sucking all the moisture out of your hair.Anamolly
This shampoo from Redken smells amazing. To me it smells like a soft cologne scent. This shampoo looks so cool..it is purple. The product felt soft on my hands and in my hair. It does say to appy wearing gloves but I did not wear gloves. The shampoo did not stain my hands. My hair is very yellow blonde and very warm tone and this shampoo did work. After I blowed dried my hair I could see that my hair was a bit more cooler blonde and the yellow and brassiness was tone downed. I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 because I wish when washing my hair the shampoo foamed more. It did not create that soapy shampoo feeling and that kinda made me use more product because I wanted to make sure I got my hair cleaned and had the shampoo everywhere. I also wished this shampoo was vegan but I dont believe it is. Redken does offer some vegan products though. Overall I'm really pleased with this shampoo and will continue to use it.danielle .l
