John Frieda is such a great brand. The products are great quality, effective, affordable, luxurious, and available in nearly every store that carries hair care. Untouched, my hair is brown, and getting darker as I age, but since I was a teenager, I have been highlighting it regularly at the salon, making my hair look more platinum blonde, so naturally after a little time, my dark roots show through and brassiness occurs quite a bit. Using this John Frieda Violet Crush Purple Shampoo and Conditioner, drastically tones down the unattractive and unwanted orange, brassy tones, while adding shine and volume. About a week ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair. I bought bleach and developed and started bleaching my hair. It did not go well. The next day, I went back to the store, looking for something to fix my at home bleach fail. I warmed up to my weird brassy orangeish yellow, so I decided I would stay blonde for a while, but I definitely want lighter hair. I bought the Violet crush shampoo and the conditioner, along with more bleach to fix some still very dark spots in my hair. After bleaching the dark spots out, turning them a weird light yellow, I washed my hair with this shampoo. I only left it in for a minute and it already made my hair look better and the color more even. Today, I decided to leave the shampoo in my hair for five minutes and I can see the difference. The lighter parts of my hair look better now. I'd definitely recommend using the Violet crush conditioner after the shampoo, though. My hair did feel very dry after I rinsed it, but the conditioner made my hair nice and soft. Both, the shampoo and the conditioner smell really nice, too.Darja

Here’s what she had to say: Shampoo lathered well and very few tangles after conditioning. It did turn down the brassiness without making my hair look too ash blonde. I think for the price point it holds its own. I don’t like it as well as some similar shampoos and conditioners sold in salons, but I do like the price point! What I dislike: I was underwhelmed by the smell not a whole lot to it. One day after use my hair does feel a little more weighed down and more oily then normal. I just started using this and so far I really love it! It smells great and makes my hair super soft!! I was using the Loreal Ever Pure purple shampoo and conditioner line but wanted to try something else so went for this, based on reviews. I found the smell to be nice and found that my hair was so much softer, as I typically have a tough time brushing/combing my hair after washing it. I love love love this product! I have naturally dark brown hair that is balayaged and have always pulled super brassy. I feel like I've used every purple shampoo under the sun and this is hands down the best one I've used so far. It kicked out so much of the brassy color in just one use. Let me preface this by saying, yes, the purple helped tone my highlighted hair within the first use. I only use the conditioner, and I only wash my hair twice a week. It's okay at conditioning, but after just 2 uses, my hair felt almost sticky after air drying, and was frizzy and weighed down. That happens when there's too much buildup, and it can happen to my fine hair quickly (although never that quick.) I used a baking soda rinse as a clarifier and a different conditioner. Back to smooth, wavy hair. I can only use this every so often, and just for the toning aspect. Apparently it is low quality in terms of conditioner.Kayla

I’ve been around the block when it comes to purple shampoos and this is one of the best ones I have tried, if not the best. I think one of the most annoying things about purple shampoos is how drying they can be on the hair but after using this my hair actually felt more hydrated. The toning on my hair was pretty significant as well, even without having my hair done in 4 months. When using purple shampoo I like to let it sit on my hair for a few minutes in the shower before rinsing off. I’ll admit I didn’t have high hopes for this but after using it it will definitely be a new staple in my routine! If you’re on the fence about trying this because you feel like you’ve tried all the purple shampoos on the market like I have, just try this one- trust me you won’t regret it!brittbabee

I received this product for free from Pinch Me for my honest review. I absolutely love the Verb Purple Shampoo. It definitely lives up to its claim of Cleanse, Tone & Brighten. My highlighted hair has grown out quite a bit. I need to get my roots down. This shampoo really did brighten & tone my blonde & Grey hair. I was shocked because my hair has grown out so much. Once I lathered, my hair felt sneaky clean when I rinsed. Not gonna lie, I was a little worried it had dried out my hair but not at all dry. My hair was brighter, full, & manageable. I received Verb Purple Shampoo as a sample from PinchMe and I can honestly say that this is hands down probably my favorite sample I've received this far. I ALWAYS wash my hair once a week, but at times twice a week and condition it every day. However, since using Verb Purple Shampoo I have only been washing once a week and the biggest shocker is I haven't had to condition my hair at all. Which is a HUGE shock to me because I have long, thick and curly hair that requires some attention and upkeep. I don’t remember if i bought this at target or somewhere else but still writing review. i used sunbum hair lighter (i have dirty blonde almost brown hair) and i guess i used too much bc my turned bleach blonde within a week. i then had some orange tones to my hair and i was recommended purple shampoo by a friend. it works and my orange tones went away and many people think i got real highlights. so thanks sumbum you helped me fix the problem yall gave me 🙂 i attached before and aftergreat

I love this stuff and can't get enough of it! my 3rd bottle already and it's the only purple shampoo I trust for my blonde highlights! Loooove the smell especially! it's not a drying formula unlike any other purple shampoos I tried which is also another major plus. What I do is I dampened the hair slightly with just a lil bit of water then I squeeze a good amount on my palm (more than they recommend on the bottle) and place it all over my blonde highlights. I leave it on for 30-45 mins and then properly rinse it. This technique uses a lot more product than what's recommended on the bottle but I noticed that this way the brassiness stays gone for a month long so I only need to do this once a month. I could not recommend this shampoo and my technique enough! I love love love this shampoo!Sha

TLDR – great shampoo, horrible packaging I love this shampoo! Smells so good and has made a huge difference in my hair color. However, that packaging is horrible. The shampoo is constantly leaking out of the top of the lid. Every time I get in the shower, every other product even remotely near it is covered in a purple layer of shampoo. I should have caught the red flag when every other bottle in store was leaking and I thought I had found the one bottle that wasn’t leaking. Conditioner doesn’t have same issue… I wonder why. I feel like I’ve lost half the bottle by it just leaking out. Product could be vastly improved by putting it in a bottle that does its’ job.Disappointed

I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I tried some different shampoos and conditioners and none seemed better than the others. I was having a particular problem with tangles when my hair was wet. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I would still love a fragrance free or more subtle natural fragrance option but it is getting the results I wanted so I plan to keep using it.Lucy

I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. This shampoo leaves my hair silky, smooth and doesn't fade my colored hair either. While Opalex made my hair feel like straw hair. I highly recommend this shampoo if you want silky smooth hair. If your a blonde and need a good purple shampoo. I highly recommend Biolage Purple shampoos. It's the best purple shampoo I've ever used and I've used many. You won't be disappointed with any shampoo from Biolage. It's my new favorite brand and I won't be going back to any other brands.Amy

My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! My hair last year was long to my belt loops. We thought was this because of coloring? Stopped coloring it last year, it's been growing out for awhile. Then for my last "trim" it turned into a chop because I've had really long hair over a decade & never has my hair looked or felt like this. Now my hair is right above my shoulders. Absolutely great It arrived safely sealed in plastic so no risk of spilling. I was silly enough to dye my hair at home last week, with the lockdown its impossible to get a hold of a hairdresser. It turned out orange. Carrot colour. I found Fanola reviews online and bought it. Did 18 minutes followed by 5 minutes.It smells lovely. It left my hair a bit dry but nothing dramatic. The orangey shade was gone, maybe 75 of it, which was a miracle given how bad it was at the start. I sent a pic to my hairdresser yesterday and they said it looks really ok now.The bottle is big so itll last ages though Im hoping I wont need it again.The only thing careful when you apply it, make sure theres nothing around you. SHIPPING/SERVICE: The package arrived a lot quicker than expected, it was well packed with no damages. Great price as well! Oz Hair and Beauty has not let me down once in regards to this 🙂 PRODUCT: Fanola orange made a noticeable difference in the brightness of my highlights in a short amount of time – it reduced the orange/coppery appearance, which tends to be an issue for me as my hair is naturally very dark. It work well with curly hair as it doesn't dry it out as much as your typical shampoos. With that in mind, you will still need to style your hair using other products specific to your hair type – not an issue as Fanola Orange still does what it sets out to do. My only issue with it is that I am not a fan of the smell – it has a hint of musk to it, which I personally do not enjoy. It is not overwhelmingly strong but something to keep in mind if aromas are important to you. Other than that it is a good product that does what it sets out to do very effectively. You only need to use a small amount roughly twice-3 times a week so I imagine a bottle will last for a good while. The directions advise you to use gloves – I haven't done this (whoops) but thankfully there hasn't been any signs of staining on my hands nor on my bathroom floors. Just be careful when using this particular product if you have very light/bright blonde shades as according to other reviews it can turn your hair green – be sure to do your own research or speak to a stylist around this if you need more information.Sharleen A.

I was in the process of going from dark brown natural with box dye on top to blonde for a change. My hair was orange at the end and in the middle. I cant risk more bleach just yet as I dont want it to break. It was in an unbearable state. I tried a toner and didnt help so I gave this a go.It says apply to wet hair leave on for 5 mins and rinse but having seen it on you tube I put it on dry hair on the orange parts and left it for 10 I probably should have done 5 mins longer but got scaredMy hair is not perfect and I can still see tinges of orange but this has saved my life and its not noticeable unless you really look. I really wish Id have took a before and after picture because the results was unbelievable and I really didnt think anything would help my orange.As a natural dark brown with box dye on top to cover the grey I was traumatised bleaching my hair and seeing this orange until I found this. The condition of my hair is fantastic due to use of olaplex Im guessing and Im going to bleach again in a month. For a long time I could not decide to color my hair, because I hate the yellow shade. I finally did it, but I bought this shampoo first. Very cool result! The hair has a nice shade and shines beautifully. The shampoo smells nice. It foams well (is enough for a long time). It dries the hair a little, but in combination with conditioner – just great. First purple shampoo that I use and it does not leave my hair dry. That being said, It got my attention completely. The pigmentation is good, I feel that it shades my hair very well and, more importantly, I do not feel it gets mistreated. This stuff is terrible if you have curly hair! Don’t make the same mistake as me in trying it out in the quest to find good products for your unique hair. This will make your hair feel like wet strands of dry rubber if such a thing could exist! Seriously this product needs a warning label. If I used this without knowing how powerful it was before an important night, it would be ruined. I am a 60ish year old woman who has fought my gray hair for many years. My hairdresser and I decided to go more ashy with my color and highlights. To help the gray blend in better. The last thing she did before I left the shop was to try to sell me her purple shampoo. This shampoo is AMAZING!. Doesn't leave your hair all dry and brittle like most Violet shampoo. We all know it can be really hard on your hair,but not from lange. I’ve highlighted my hair my whole life and have tried every single purple shampoo out there. This one is by far the BEST hands down! I’ve never received so many compliments on my hair until I started using this! (I also LOVE the violet masque) A few things to try if you’re struggling to achieve the results you want: 1. Wash hair with regular shampoo, rinse, then use this violet shampoo after. Leave it in for 2-5 minutes (longer at first and once you’ve been using you just need it in for like a minute). Then rinse it out. Your hair will look purple right out of the shower but works best at night because once you wake up in the morning it’s all soaked in and looks platinum! 2. Use it 2-3x a week. 3. All of this is done without using the violet masque. If you’re using the violet masque then don’t leave in at all, rinse it right out and then use the violet masque (only once a week!)Caimen

I bought this product from Amazon I’m not sure if you can purchase it in stores. But…. It made all of my blonde highlights a very light white blonde color and made my brown hair a lighter brown after using it. I would only recommend this product to people that only have blonde hair not dirty blonde hair. It’s kinda expensive I’m not crazy about this product but… it will help lighten you’re highlights if you have them. Only leave it on for 3 mins to 5 mins at a time to get the best results. I wish this had existed decades ago. I'm a natural brunette who has been every color in the rainbow and has fought unwanted reddish orange undertones. I'm 51 and have been coloring my hair since 13. I hate most Ash boxed dyes as they are harsh looking. I recently bleached out several years of black dude from my now salt and pepper hair, suffered with a too light for me blonde because of damage, and was finally able to get to a dark ash blonde only to see it become orangey after a week. Enter this shampoo. I lathered up, let it sit while I washed and shaved, rinsed, conditioned and dried my hair. It looked amazing! And it felt great too! I've seen others use this on YouTube and you can plainly see their after results leaves their hair looking in better condition than before. That's what prompted me to try this one. When I think of decades of living with beautiful brown shades that went reddish orange, it's maddening. All I needed was this. This stuff was amazing! I got it on sale at ULTA the 2 for 20 deal, so I picked this up along with it's matching conditioner. I was between this and their blonde shampoo in the white bottle, when I went to check the product out in store this product was purple and the product in the white bottle wasn't. Because I understand the science/theory behind the purple shampoo for platinum hair I got this one. One of the reviews I had read said it smelled like bubblegum, I found it smelled more like mixed berry, so unless your bubblegum is mixed berry, I wouldn't say it smells like bubble gum! The consitencey of this product is almost like a Nickelodeon slime. It's a very dark purple, and my first time use I actually applied it to my hair dry to get the maximum benefit of the toner. (If you have severely damaged hair this may turn your hair purple as any toner would) my hair is chemically processed, but not bad, which is why I felt safe to apply it dry. I followed up with the joico conditioner when I went into the shower to rinse it off after leaving it in for about 2.5 to 3 minutes. When I got out and dried my hair it looked like I had just retoned my hair with wella's t-18 toner! I would highly recommend this to anyone that is fighting yellow in their hair. I am no stranger to blue/purple toning shampoo and this one is great! Some other toning shampoos I have used either didn’t work well at all or they worked too well! The directions for this said to leave the shampoo on for 3-5 minutes. I always use caution when applying toning shampoo especially the first time as I’ve turned my hair purple before. Three minutes was all I needed! This took all the brass out of my hair! The color looked incredible so clean and crisp like I had just left the salon. My stylist was impressed with how great it made my color look after using these products! The only thing I would say is use caution and start slow so you don’t over tone your hair or take the toner you want to stay in your hair out.jenna.m

So I went to a salon and my goal is to do a black to silver to white Ombre hair color. After the second round of bleach I was recommended this shampoo to neutralize the yellow blonde and achieve and maintain the silver color until we do the next round. I was using it in the shower and leaving it on for 5 minutes, not seeing much result. My hair was still pretty blonde and I was disappointed. But! I was scrolling around on Youtube and came across a Brad Mondo video where he was reacting to people bleaching their hair and saw someone who applied the shampoo like a dye and left it on to tone their hair and I thought, okay, worth a try. And it worked amazingly! I coated the blonde hair very thoroughly and left it on for 20 minutes and proceeded to wash it out, blow dry, and throw some leave in conditioner in. Blonde is now mostly gone and it left me with a beautiful silver/gray color. I plan on doing this a few more times until I see no more blonde. 🙂Lou

When I initially tried to submit this review I had given at three stars. I had an issue with the app and have used the shampoo several times since and now I would like to give it four stars. The worst thing about the shampoo is that your hands can really get stained if you don’t wet them and preferably put lotion or something on them to create a barrier. The blue really stains. Other than that, it does give a nice toning color to hair that looks brassy, and my hair is nice and smooth when I use the shampoo. I normally do not use shampoos with sodium chloride because I have keratin treatment but it has been washed out so I felt comfortable using this.jessica.b

I have been using Tigi hair products for a few years now. This is the first time that I have purchased this particular hair duo. For me, its not a good as the other products that I have used. It made my head feel a bit dry and I found that I was scratching my head later in the day when using this. As soon as I used my elasticate Tigit shampoo and conditioner the itchiness went away. I like the rest of their line. Since I occasionally bleach and dye my hair.I was looking into something to use for that too. The purple shampoo smells good just like the rest of the line. Using this on my hair after using chemicals I can tell it's pretty gentle and seems to strengthen it a bit. I use this shampoo in conjunction with the Colorharmony conditioner to keep my silver hair sparkling. Together they remove any yellow undertones that I have in my hair. I also love the way my hair feels after using this shampoo. I had tried other purple shampoos and they were very drying to my hair. No parabens, no sulfates, vegan. I have silver hair and this is the 3rd brand of purple shampoo I have tried. Lathers well, is REALLY dark purple, cleans and rinses well. I love this shampoo for curly hair. I was not planning to buy this large pump bottle, but it was much cheaper to buy the larger than the smaller size (per ounce). My salon is about this price for the smaller size! For some reason the shipment was first sent to my town (but not to my house – my town was shown on the shipment location on the tracking order) and then sent to another town out of state, and by the time I got the shipment at my house it was later than anticipated. The most important thing to know about this masque is something at least 2 hairdressers have told me to do. Leave some of this product in your hair! Don’t rinse it all out! It makes your hair beautifully shiny and glorious, not stiff or dull the way other conditioners would if you didn’t rinse them out. This is the way they were taught to use it by a Framesi rep years ago. So…very lightly rinse, then comb out with a mixture of water and the masque still in your hair. You will be amazed at the result!m.

So far the best Purple Shampoo I've found. I have not used it long but My hair shines and actually feels thicker and softer. It hasn't really taken out all my brassiness yet but maybe after a few more uses it will. I am transitioning from medium brown colored treated hair to my natural white/grey hair that I'm letting grow out. It is very fine so my hairdresser didn't want to bleach it anymore for fear of damaging it more to get the orange and yellow tone out of it. She just highlighted down to blendable with my natural white/grey hair. That is probably why not all the brassiness is coming out with the Purple Shampoo. This is a top of the line Shampoo and I have the Silver Lining Butter Masque too, which I love and recommend everyone to try if you are transiting to white/grey hair like me. First time trying a purple shampoo that is not from a professional beauty brand and I am pleased! The scent is very nice and leaves your hair smelling wonderful! The color of the shampoo is very dark purple and contains a lot of pigment, which I like because it makes me feel like the product works better at knocking out the brass. This lathered better than other purple shampoos that I have tried. I have only used once and I already saw a change in the tone of my hair. It definitely works! I will continue to use to see even better results. The good thing is this is way more reasonably priced than other well known brands! I received this product complimentary in a voxbox. I will say this product definitely works. However I have red hair not blonde. It did strip out some of the darker tones in my hair making it lighter (I didn’t hate the end result). This shampoo is not recommended for red hair especially red hair that is dyed. Although most red dyes have purple deposits and red deposits in them the purple cancels out the yellow/ golden tones. Overall the product did as it described it smells amazing and you do definitely get results from day one. I have rated this five stars as I continually rebut this product. It’s always In my bathroom. I have naturally blonde hair which I do have coloured every few months to lighten it a little and this really helps to re brighten my hair. I will say however that I have to change my shampoo and conditioner regularly as it almost stops working on my hair but I do always go back to this product however I only use this a few times a month, and it helps maintain not only my colour but doesn’t strip my hair and make it feel dry when washed. I also love the biotin and collagen shampoo/conditioner by OGX, these are great products which can be used daily without the overuse of chemicals that lost shampoos have in them.katie.p

I actually really liked the way this product made my hair look. I was going for the silver/lavender color so it was perfect. Although, it didn't last long so I was using it about 2-3 times per week for the recommended amount of time in the instructions. I used it for a little over a month. I did notice my hair was getting dry and over time there was more and more hair in the shower drain after washing. I did conditioning treatments between uses thinking this would help but it didn't. My hair then started looking and feeling thinner. The next thing I knew there was a slight bald patch on the crown of my head. I panicked and stopped use immediately. After just 2 weeks of not using this product I can already tell my hair is healthier and there is no more hair coming out in the shower or my brush. Im not saying this will happen to everyone as there are plenty of good reviews on here. But if you notice that its drying out your hair or causing any breakage STOP USE immediately!! … can turn hair light purple if used too often. I highlight my hair very light and hate to see any tones of gold or red and I've tried multiple purple shampoos that can be very drying. This one is not as bad as the others in terms of drying my hair but it turns the lightest pieces lavender. I don't know if this happens to everyone but for me it did so I find that I don't use this for every shampoo and I suggest for people who do highlight their hair very blonde they shouldn't wash their hair too often because it's drying. I find that when I switch between this and a good clarifying shampoo, my color lasts longer without getting brassy and I just watch how long I keep it on the front really light pieces. I guess it can be fun to have some light lavender highlights but at my age, I just prefer the blonde ones!SunshineStateGirl

Bold Uniq Purple Shampoo for Blonde Hair This Bold Uniq Purple Shampoo is pretty amazing stuff and very easy to use. It will do different things and have different effects depending on what your hair color and condition are to begin with — so go slow. I say that because I read online where people had not followed the instructions on the bottle (or had not used the gloves which come inside the package) and their results were not always what they expected. I would definitely read and follow the directions, which are very clear and concise. I also chose to follow the instructions which said to try the product for only a short time as you first use it, so that you can get an idea of what it will do to your hair in your particular case. Some people have talked about using it on wigs and ending up with a more permanent purple hue – one that they were not expecting. I’m glad I read that first, as I might have tried it on some hair extensions which I own — but now I think I would not go that direction. The product is a very dark purple and has a nice scent. I did use a nice, strong moisturizing conditioner after trying the purple shampoo, as I felt it was rather drying and I didn’t want to damage my hair in any way. My hair used to be blonde but has become somewhat darker and more brassy with age. I was pleased with the way this shampoo worked to remove the brassy tones from my dark blonde hair. I can imagine it would work even more effectively on lighter blonde and platinum hair shades. A friend of mine has lovely silver hair, and she was the first one to mention purple shampoos to me – which is what got me interested in trying them to see what effect they would have. I wanted to try blue toning shampoo and bought the trial sizes to give this a shot. I have always used purple and saw very little results. I read the directions very quickly, I didn't use gloves and I used a white towel to try my hair. I didn't even think of the blue color that was deposited into my hair I used this product for the first time yesterday and all I can say is WOW! I did see blue everywhere but it didn't stain my shower, hands, nails or my towels. My highlights looked brighter and I think I even saw more of them and I was impressed with just one use. The smell was nice but I thought it was too strong but once you dry your hair the smell disappears. Not sure if I will use this shampoo more than maybe once or twice a week because I don't want to darken my highlight I just want to see less brass and red. If you are hesitant to try this product because of the blue color you could use gloves and I would definitely use it in the shower so that the product washes out once it hits the floor you could even keep a brush in your shower if you want to make sure no blue residue lingers behind. All toning shampoos have color the purple once I used before does and I never had an issue. Everyone's experience is different but I would definitely give this product a try.Tophersmom

I haven't changed anything in my hair care routine except this. The first time I used it, meh it did the job and made my hair a lot brighter. Mind you I only use this twice a month because purple shampoo is so harsh. The second time I used this, HOLY DRYNESS. It literally sucked every bit of moisture out of my hair and turned my hair silver, which was fine, but I looked like a hag due to the frizz. I've never experienced such harshness from a product. I've had to completely reset my hair by not putting any heat or this shampoo on my hair for a month. It ruined my hair for my graduation and I couldn't be anymore disappointed in this product. Not to mention it doesn't lather at all and I felt like I had to use a ton of it to clean my hair. This product really does reverse brassy tones, but it isn't worth sucking all the moisture out of your hair.Anamolly

This shampoo from Redken smells amazing. To me it smells like a soft cologne scent. This shampoo looks so cool..it is purple. The product felt soft on my hands and in my hair. It does say to appy wearing gloves but I did not wear gloves. The shampoo did not stain my hands. My hair is very yellow blonde and very warm tone and this shampoo did work. After I blowed dried my hair I could see that my hair was a bit more cooler blonde and the yellow and brassiness was tone downed. I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 because I wish when washing my hair the shampoo foamed more. It did not create that soapy shampoo feeling and that kinda made me use more product because I wanted to make sure I got my hair cleaned and had the shampoo everywhere. I also wished this shampoo was vegan but I dont believe it is. Redken does offer some vegan products though. Overall I'm really pleased with this shampoo and will continue to use it.danielle .l

This will remain my favorite purple shampoo! I love this stuff. I have medium/light(ish) blonde hair that tends to get brassy quick. I read the reviews on Amazon first before purchasing and fell in love. This shampoo is a deep deep purple, and it will stain your hands if you don't rinse them off. First hand experience here *pun intended* The smell of it wasn't gross like some other brands (looking at you Clairol Shimmer Lights). It actually will turn your hair ashy! I left this stuff on for ten minutes and I had that beautiful ash (almost purple tone) to it, which I don't mind. Less time left on, you'll still see results. I plan on purchasing this again, because this one is hands down the best for my thick processed blonde hair.christina.k

I found my hair was becoming more resistant to my usual favorite purple shampoo, as well as the Fanola No Yellow Shampoo and decided to try out the no orange line. One wash and I was convinced I needed this for maintenance from there on out – my strands were noticeably less brassy (especially when used in conjunction with one another) in comparison to the tone my purple shampoos produced. My color was still bright, and I loved the cooler tones. I even experimented to see if this difference was from the No Orange mask or the shampoo itself so I tried using the mask with 2 different purple shampoos that I’ve had luck with in the past, and while the tone was improved, I still saw the best results with the No Orange shampoo. The mask definitely helps with the process, so now I use the whole set twice a week (which is how often I wash my hair). The shampoo and mask itself smells slightly citrusy and refreshing. The shampoo lathers beautifully, but if you’re heavy handed with the dry shampoo, you may want to use a different shampoo to quickly cleanse the scalp before using the No Orange – you’ll end up using less product this way and producing a significant amount more lather. This is great for getting rid of the yellow tones in your hair. As you can see in the second picture after getting my hair re-dyed blonde it was more yellow than the platinum I wanted to go for but after using the shampoo TWICE, my hair was the silvery colour as you can see in the last picture! I use this every time I wash my hair after using my normal shampoo, usually leaving it in for 3-5 minutes and it works great. The only slightly annoying thing is that it dries out the hair and turns your hands purple if you don’t wash it off straight away. Also, sometimes you can see bits of purple showing through in certain light however I am sure if you use it less intensely that will not be an issue! Plus I love a bit of purple so I have no problem with it☺️. But I do find myself having to use extra serums and leave in conditioners in order to help it detangle and to keep my hair less dry. So keep that in mind!emma.t

I received this product in exchange for my honest review.This is a great sulfate free purple shampoo. It gently cleanses your hair. The shampoo provides some brightness to my highlights which have turned a bit brassy. I love that it is infused with cica, rice water and quinoa protein to help strengthen my strands and repair damage. I also love that you only leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes. It has a nice clean sent that I do appreciate. There’s only one downfall to the Shampoo for me. With that said, I will say that I have very tight curls with very dry hair. I need an obscene amount of hydration in my hair products to provide me enough moisture for my curls to not get tangled in knots. I think this product just needs a little more moisture for people with hair like myself. Overall I think this would be a great product for most curly haired people.nicole.e
