I got it home, and went to open the package. My first thought was to fold it and put it away. Well, while trying to fold it (which was hard to do), the blade piece came out. While trying to connect it back, the blade itself then came out. Couldn't get it back together and ended up tossing it in the garbage. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.Jo
Love that this razor is a folding razor. I always have the caps of other razors scattered everywhere. I only use this razor occasionally, but it works well to remove peach fuzz, especially on the upper lip. I use tweezers, and the flawless face and brow shaver in addition to this razor.Christy
I get my upper lip waxed from time to time when I get my eyebrows done and have been especially self conscious of the hair there lately. I'm so glad I did! The razor is simple to use and has a desrete/compact design safe enough to store in your makeup bag. The brush on the other end is more convienent than I expected at first glance. It's been about a week now, very little hair has grown back and most importantly it isn't coarse at all! After all the hype that I read and watched online, I find it difficult to believe that this product is as popular as it appears to be. When you run an electric razor over the same area up to 10 times and your whiskers are all still there…. then there is a problem somewhere. I made sure to apply light pressure and hold the product at the proper angle (as per the instructions) and the the only difference was chaffed skin. This product did even worse on my neck. None of the whiskers were cut and I had what looked (and felt) like burn marks on my throat. This is not the most expensive electric razor on the market, by far. But it's not cheap either. It has a very lightweight "cheap feel" to it. I don't care what a razor looks like, or feels like in my hand. Those are non-issues with me. As long as the product works, I honestly don't care. That being said, this razor is poorly designed. It looks and feels like you're shaving with a 3 1/2 inch section of two-by-four. In the barber trade, Andis and Wahl are the big names in clippers shavers. When it comes to tools for finishing fades, the Andis Profoil and Wahl Shaver Shaper are the benchmarks. I bought the Andis because I like the way the shaver blades are staggered. The performance is outstanding. You shave as close as you want. But I'd have to caution anyone using this tool not to bear down hard because you'll be pushing the blades with far too much force against the foil which will wear down the foil and blades prematurely and might even produce a razor burn. If you’re a bald man with a beard myself then this is a great product to have! This is more of a “finishing” product. All you have to do is get your head down to stubble and and go over it with this and bam no hair left. It’s also great for lining up your beard. The only negative I would have to say is that I tend to go through the foil replacements quite a bit because I use mine so much but you have to realize it’s foil and isn’t made to last forever. Another great rotary in Philips' lineup. This series does solve the issue of many complaints regarding the detachable trimmer and heads of other Philips shavers – it has the traditional flip-top head and pop-up trimmer. This adds to the bulk of the shaver, body and head, but precludes having to keep track of a separate trimmer and remove the head for cleaning, and it works reasonably well, although for me the trimmer isn't quite as effective as the SmartClick attachments for the Series 9000 shavers. The ComfortGlide Rings really are effective, and provide a frictionless shave, although in this model they are slightly larger than the Anti-Friction rings of the S7940 for example, and require some maneuvering to get around tight areas. The Quick Clean pods use the same cleaning solution as the SmartClean cartridges for the SmartClean stations, which is excellent for cleaning and lubricating the shaver. The Quick Clean Pod is unpowered however, and uses the shaver's power, reducing it by about 1 percent per cleaning, although on a positive note doesn't require cords or cables and is more compact – actually usable for travel. This new Norelco shaver is a big change from my current one. Some things I really like about it and a couple not so much. Starting with the not so much is the fact that there's no charger for this shaver, it just comes with a cable with a USB end. My current Norelco has a nice charger base it sits upright in and plugs into the wall. The shave head on this is also considerably larger than my current one and takes some getting used to for trimming around tight spots on the face. Now for the good, this shaver requires very little effort for shaving stubble on my face and gets it all with only a couple passes. The way the shave head can contour around the face is cool and helps to get shaving done quicker. The shaver has a battery level indicator on the front which comes in handy, my current one only has a light that flashes when its time to charge it. Overall this is a nice replacement shaver other than not coming with a charger right out of the box.dmx10101
Probably the best rotary shaver ever made. This model is akin to the old-style Norelco shavers of the 90s into the 2000s. Only with a modern look and feel. For a while, since 2015 or so I think, most Philips Norelco models had heads with two rows of blades and were somewhat open on the outside. I feel this was a mistake as skin could get caught in the open spaces. This model however has the blades completely enclosed by the comb with one row of blades. Like the old ones used to be. And believe me, one row of blades is fine. I get a great shave from this model. Philips Norelco reached the apex of electric shaving technology years ago with lift-and-cut blades, and they just keep improving. But the previous style of blades was not best for me. Speaking of lift-and-cut, that was not a meaningless marketing slogan. If the hairs were long enough you could actually feel them being plucked, ouch. Fortunately gone are the days of nickel-cadmium batteries taking 8 hours to charge and dry shaving only. This is the new era of electric shaving. The blades are self sharpening and most if not all models are now wet / dry. This model feels sturdy and solid with good weight. Fits well in the hand. And the motor is strong but not too loud. And the blades cut through stubble like it's not even there. I've used many norelco models through the years. But there's something about this one. It cuts cleaner, easier and faster. And it just feels better on my face, and in my hand. I shave in the shower with Nivea Men Sensitive gel, because I'm a sensitive guy. And if I'm in a hurry I shave dry. That’s super cool that these razor brands are starting to think in the direction of sustainability The only Deduction in a star is that the handle is very thin – which I understand is saving resources but because of how thin it is two things happened 1.) Droppable – it was finicky to hold so it slipped out of my hand a few times and if anyone has ever been 8 months pregnant they know the pain of a far reach haha! 2.) Bendable – it isn’t rigid but very flexible in the handle so sometimes it doesn’t feel like you have that same sort of control while holding the razor that you would with a traditional thicker neck handle. Overall though I’d 100% purchase this product again and on my own volition. I was really excited to try, actually has been a while that I have shave with razors. . The first impression was “looks pretty”, colors, the box well done. Love the idea of sustainability and reduce the plastic with bamboo, something natural, beautiful and light, super light! But as soon as I got to the razors the handle is super thin and it was shipped a little bit. . Even though the razors works really well on the skin, very smooth and because it’s super light it was very easy to handle and it was ok on the curves, it doesn’t shape much although it’s flexible still. When I was done I noticed that the hair was kinda hard to clean from the razors, I put under the water and try to take it out but there is no much space to the hair leave. My skin feels really good after the Aloe Vera really helps. . For that reason of not clean easy I give 4 stars! But I definitely recommend to buy, you should try too!luana .r

The Norelco S7000 is a very great shaver and I do recommend this electric shaver to all men especially men with sensitive skin which I have and I’m 50 years old and I have been searching for a shaver electric or not and it will not make my neck red or razor bumps. The reason why I’m giving my purchase review is because it came with a defective battery it won’t hold a charge for that long as Norelco says that it should. So I contacted the manufacture and told them of this and they mailed me a replacement shaver of the same type and the replacement does hold a charge unlike the first one that I bought. And if you have sensitive scan on your neck and when you shave you get a red neck from a razor and bumps then you really need to buy either the S7000 or the S9000 cause I can shave dry and I get awesome results and no redness or bumps and you would want to get the electric Norelco shaver that you can clean it using a cleaning pod. I will never go back to razor’s ever again and when I have wore it out I will buy another one. I did buy the S9000 because it comes with double the blades but either electric shaver will give you a very smooth clean shave.Baylein
I grew up with and have used Norelco rotary shavers and body groom tools all my adult life. My old one, probably close to 20 years now, still works but there is no availability of replacement heads anymore and some wear finally. This is an excellent shaver and I am very happy I got it. I considered the 3000 and 5000 series, but 3000 seems to use lower end heads, and while the 5000 uses the same as this, the hard travel case is essential to me and purchased as a separate accessory brings the cost close enough that it was worth it to just get the higher end kit. The shave is great; I haven't yet tried out the cleaning pod. The shaver cleans very well under running water following the instructions. I also have some extras from my previous Philips/Norelco products that I use with this, such as combs, cleaning brushes and a spare charger.Chris_P

I still feel like other razor brands give me a better overall shave so would pick those first all things equal. This razor looks good and feels solid. The blade disconnect seems a bit flimsy and the "cushioning gel pools" on one of the blade heads is practically nonexistent with only 1 "pool" filled with the white gel. The other head included had all the "pools" filled. The razor did cut nicely and didn't seem to cause much irritation. I really really like the way this razor assembles because it stays secure while you shave. I say that because I've had other safety razors in the razors and they came loose while I would be shaving and I would have tighten them back up. So that's a winner with this one for sure. I wanted less expensive primarily, and double edge razors can be cheaper when the razors are bought in bulk: a lot cheaper. Previously, I used disposable cartridges. I am very pleased with the results so far after 1 shave. I was careful for the first time, of course. I had zero nicks or cuts. Of course, it still will take patience so I don't have problems. When someone comes in for a tattoo we need to work on skin that is clean, free of blemishes and hair. When we need to make sure that there's no hair we use these razors. They are single-use razors; we never try to clean them or use them on another person because that's just asking for trouble. These are single blade razors so they aren't going to do a great job if you have a lot of hair to clear; you need to clean the blade often to avoid having hair get stuck between the blade and the top and bottom part of the plastic holder. If we are doing a large back piece on someone we only have to use one of these to clear the area but if someone has a lot of back hair, we might have to use two to avoid irritating the skin with a slightly dull blade. I get these for .17 cents a piece because I buy them in bulk; the five and ten packs in stores are relatively inexpensive when compared to other razors but they are single blade not multi blade. They are great if you are traveling and want something that is disposable. When I've used these in the past I never got any cuts from them but I only used them on my legs when I would grab one from the shop to take home and use when I was completely out of razors.AlexFortune

This was one of my first razors I used when I was younger and have been using it for years! Sadly over the years it was harder to find the razor and the refills, but I am glad it is sold on the website and I hope they continue to sell it. I really love using it for the underarms, for it glides easily. I also love the fact I don’t have to worry about how much pressure I use whereas with other razors sometimes I have to use light pressure because the razor is to sharp for me. Really well made. Everything is really nice. The only issue is that it takes double the amount of strokes to shave as a Braun shaver. However, you get significantly less skin irritation with this compared to Braun. This model is made in Japan which is nice. The protective cover is a bit odd shaped and hard to get on. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for myself. After speaking to a staff Member(Nathan) and doing much research on the Razor and its competitors, I decided on the Feather DX. I do like a razor that has some weight and further more, a Razor that lets you choose the angle to accommodate the different areas of your face. There was no doubt in my mind about the quality of this razor when I opened the box. Fitting it into my hand felt like it was right at home. It was so comfortable. What I like is the shorter handle and not the L shape one usually associates with using a conventional a straight razor. Another reason for my wanting a razor like this is for when I travel for my job, it is so nicly portable, no strops etc. required. Wonderful! Getting to the shave, I was very pleasantly surprised how smoothly it fit my hand and, being careful with selecting my angle, I found it so easy. The weight of the razor itself did the job, all I had to do was guide it, even in the tricky spots alonfg the jawline and below. This is where stretching your skin as is recommended with most blade razors is almost mandatory. I did not feel any "pull" at all, it was such a smooth shave that I had to check a few times to see if it really did shave that area. Unbelievable! Being a straight razor user I was aware of the danger of being a bit careless so I gave it my full concentration (essential attitude when using a wet shave razor). Not a cut,nor a weeper. This is one glorious shave. I include it in my rotation now and will probably gravitate to it more often. Just think, no honing, stropping etc. Ideal for those days when you do not have the time for that. I used to be mildly amused at Shavettes. This Razor changed my perspective. It is Professional Class, no doubt about it. I use the Feather Artist Club Professional Super Blades. Personal Opinion. I am not sure if this razor is the right one for those new to straight razor shaving but if they want to use a Shavette as an introduction to it then this is the one to go to. I am a believer that starting out with a low quality instrument such as a musical instrument , camera, razor etc. can put more people off than encourage them. For seasoned Straight Razor users this is a treat not to be missed. It is different and so will add variety to your routine. Feather blades are unparalleled for sharpness and with good technique provide comfort as well. I enjoy my DX and find that when I'm in the mood for the best straight razor shave this is my go to razor. I also enjoy my carbon steel straights but find that with the Feather blades they cut just a tad closer and with the added sharpness a smoother shave is attained with less strokes and hence less irritation. The learning curve is up to you but once you get the correct blade angle and pressure the rest is pure nirvana.

I have sensitive skin. I love the Schick Quattro. Since this razor is labeled "sensitive" I thought I'd try it. Even with lotion, my legs burned for a day and a half. Never had that issue with the Schick Quattro or Venus Smooth (as long as I use some lotion after). Was not expecting that at all; wish I could return it. Also, I had read that the Hydro doesn't have the wires over the blades like the Quattro to prevent nicks. I figured I'd be fine without them, but I nicked myself 3 times. I haven't done that since I was a teenager.Jamie
I switched to these a few years ago. I like the handle, the versatility, and how many handle options there are. I don’t use the trimmer much, but I like the bulk of that handle a lot. I agree, the blades can dull a bit, but I only shave my legs a few times a week. They seem to last long enough for me. I use shave gel, perhaps that also helps too. I would recommend. I do not see myself changing from these. I have literally tried so many other options, this one I have stuck with. I do like the razor/gel combo devices and the double razors that you basically use in a scrubbing motion as there are blades facing both directions, those do work the absolute best for me, but I think those were rather pricey.JP
WELL, I came to the web site today hoping to find an instructional video or at least instructions on how to attach a refill blade/cartrage for my Hydro Silk 5. Nothing!! Which was disappointing as I continue to have the same issue with this product over the past 3+ years. So as a last resort thought perhaps someone within the reviews would have experienced the same and shed some light with "a simple how to"…nada! However…I did come across two recent and very informational reviews (flygirl1523 · 8 months ago & Makaylah · a year ago + a couple of others) related to skin irritations, rashes and Eczema. BINGO!! I have sensitive skin, suffer from Eczema and have spent 2 years in and out of Doctors (Internist, Dermatology, Allergist) offices, not to mention many $$'s on cortisone shots, twice daily creams and prescription drugs trying to determine why I have reoccurring extreme episodes of painful burning rashes (my pictures would be worth a 1,000 words). Bic Flex5 is my regular daily shaving tool. For me, shaving is enjoyment and it is the first action I start with my day. Unless it\'s a laser, it all shaves the same. 5 or 1 blade all dull after the first shave if you use them once a month or 5 times a day. More blades only make a difference if you don\'t use a trimmer before cutting through grown hair which will require more passes which is fine for some and useless for others. In the end, only one thing effects the quality of the product. How much does it cost? Buy the most cost effective and spend cash on a good shaving kit like soap & a brush.\n\nI\'d also be curious about the plastic/rubber materials used as the formula changed around 20 years ago to be much softer and it becomes like puddy when exposed to oils from your skin & shaving cream over a long enough time period. A simple computer mouse can come apart in only a month and I\'d imagine shaving oils would eat away at the same speed. Make sure this is always considered & tested when making your products as it\'s a shame to need to throw away handles. I\'d rather have a good metal frame with actual wood or such materials built into it to allow for a firm grip than something that is gonna ball apart and leave my hand with a nasty substance on it after a while if i only want to buy replacement blades to save money and resources not tossing it in the trash being wasteful which is becoming too common.Brian

I have been shaving for 60 years and in general have very few concerns about the shavers I use. But these shavers were simply not up to standard were anything like the label they bore. My face is not super sensitive but I prefer one that says sensitive of course. Smoother ! Sensitive ! Absolutely not. I was cut by the first one and had to be very careful with th others !terrytr.
Having used other, lesser-quality disposable razors for years, I always felt the performance of a high-end razor wouldn't justify its cost. Boy was I wrong! After trying the BIC Flex 4, I was shocked at the differences. The flawless shave of just one swipe was incredible… it would take multiple swipes of my ST2 razor to get that smooth with no razor burn, nicks or cuts. The weighted handle made for comfort and extreme handling in the hard to shave areas around the lips, under the nose and the chin. The rubberized grip was perfect in wet conditions, especially in the shower while trimming 'other areas'. The flex of the blades made it easy to handle the curves of the face and neck. In all, the only suggestion I would have is to have a 'lock' and 'unlock' feature for the blade cartridge, as I accidentally hit the cartridge release button once in the shower. Other than that, it's a well designed razor and arguably the best one I've tried. I suggest you give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

If I could rate this less and save someone the pain this razor has physically and mentally caused me i would. After one use, actually during use, my legs were burning. Almost like a chemical burn, slow but noticeable. I didn't think much more about it and finished shaving. I thought maybe it burned because it is a fixed blade razor. I used tis razor one more time, the next day- and i have LITERAL burns on my legs. I don't know if I'm allergic to the strip or the actual metal of this razor, but it says for sensitive skin. I cannot wear shorts, shave, or sleep comfortably because of the terrible razor rash/dermatitis this razor has caused me. It's so embarrassing and painful.

So why would a "women's" disposable razor become so dull as to be unusable after 2 leg shaves but a "man's" razor, meant for shaving facial hair, lasts 4-5 complete pits/legs/elsewhere shaves before becoming too dull to use "elsewhere????"shantel.b
I have previously used Bic Comfort 3 razors, before 4, 5, and then 6 blade razors came out. I recently had the chance to try Bic Comfort 3 again and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the razor was. You forget that your razors have always worked just fine before going to a 6 blade razor, you start to think that the 3 blade razors just can't compare to something with more blades. While I wouldn't use this razor for longer than a weekend or a couple of days, I would absolutely recommend this razor for traveling. It was much easier just having this prepackaged single razor to throw into my suitcase and throw it away at the end of the trip than to load up my regular razor and then pack it back up at the end of the trip. It's a good quality razor that didn't leave me with any knicks and gave me smooth skin for the duration of a long weekend trip.

The product pictured and described on the Ulta app is The item pictured / described on the Ulta App is not the same item I received. The shaver came earlier today. It has ONE shaving head not two. There is NO charging base, only a plug in wall charger. When I called customer service they could not tell me if the replacement item they are sending will actually be the two head shaver with a charging base. ((Why?!?)) I guess I'll have to wait for another 7-10 days for my "maybe it is, maybe it's not" the right item to arrive.Wendy
Bought for in store pick-up. I was provided a completely different razor that does not come with a base. The color around the button is solid pink and not white. And it has a dofferent head. All other stores sell that version along with the one advertised here. The employee berated my husband telling him he does not know anything that this is the new and improved model she provided us in our order. That it does not matter that it does not come with a base or that the head only has a single blade. Tried to shove a razor that elsewhere sells down my hsubands throat for $10 that does not match the product they list here (elsewhwre also sells this razor and it is the same price). Just lost a long time customer. Do not try to pawn off cheap products by advertising something else and stating what you are giving them is just a new version (when it is not.)SarHD
