20 Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet And Pet Hair (Jan 2023 Update)

Let me tell you how great this little guy (or girl) is. In the year 2018, I decided to get my self a furry companion. I wont bore with the details on how I named her but her name is Rona. Little did I know, Rona was going to be the dog equivalent of a hurricane except instead of rain and wind, shes a fur and farts. Also, little did I know, there was going to be a world pandemic 2 years later that would take her nickname "Rona season" to a whole new level. But let me tell you, my dog dogs fur could go toe-to-toe with covid on who spreads faster. At this point I may have lost you, but every great story has a detailed set up. With our move into a new home that is immensely larger than our previous studio in the city, we knew we could not keep up with cleaning. In comes Victor, our new iRobot i7 vacuum. After a short issue connecting to our wifi (my fault, not victors), we got this little guy (possibly girl) up and rolling. With in a day, victor new our new floor plan faster than I could mow the front lawn (its really small #colorado). Speaking of colorado, victor has no issue with high altitude contrary to unpopular belief. All in all, victor has saved us from the pain of vacuuming. I set victor up to run in the morning and evening and he (could be a she) is looking skinnier than even. I find my self watching victor vacuum like my old neighbor used to watch me vacuum. Except he was outside looking in. Highly recommend the purchase. You wont regret it.Kyle

Great vacuuming assistant – 4.5 stars in our opinion. Have had it now 4 months. Background: mostly one level house with laminate and tile floors, couple of throw rugs. Dining room has table with 6 chairs. Kitchen counter has 3 pedestal stools. When we down sized to this house kept minimal furniture. One border Collie. Roughly 2500 sq ft that we want robot to maintain (excludes stairs and room over garage). Here's our experience: to best use the robot, let it map your house. Then divide house into rooms. Rather than let the robot clean the entire house , clean by specific jobs that include 3-4 rooms so the robot can complete it without having to stop and recharge. To get the best clean in the quickest time, move portable items into rooms not on the cleaning job list. For example, we move the six dining room chairs to the sunroom. This cuts the cleaning time by about 1/3 as the robot can vacuum straight lines, rather than try to work its way around multiple chair legs. It also ensures that the robot can get under the table completely. We do a similar thing with the sunroom's high top stools. For the pedestal stools in kitchen, we pull them out so the robot can make a pass without trouble under the counter. The robot will climb the smooth base to clean them. For us with the dog, a bag fills in about a month. The robot can't get onto the fireplace hearth or go over the triple sliding glass door track that leads to the sunroom. Nor will it do behind open doors that are flush to walls. So you still need a broom or handheld wand. Buy on sale!2oldtohear

I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC

I have several robot vacuums and I can absolutely recommend this one, it cleans well and the navigation is also really good. I'm also going to talk about something that isn't common because my situation is unique. I'm a blind person and can't read print. I use an Iphone which has a built in screen reader called Voiceover which allows a person to use the touch screen if they can't see it. Basically, it allows you to touch anywhere on the screen and hear the item that you have touched, or you can swipe a finger left and right to move through the items on the screen. To activate the item that was spoken, you double tap anywhere on the screen. Depending on how apps are designed, some applications will read better than others. The Eufy home app works really well with Voiceover. I had no problem creating an account and setting up my robot. I also have no problem sending the bot out to clean or changing its settings. The main setting I wanted to change was to set the cleaning power to the highest setting, I figure if the robot has the power, why not use it? The one thing I can't do is use the features that require you to draw on the map but that's the way it is with all robot vacuums, there is no way to speak that kind of information. I always prefer to clean my entire place so for me this is not a concern. This is a great robot vacuum and I could not be happier with it.Mike A.

The iLife Robot is great. I gets underneath areas that are hard for me to clean. It usually takes 2 charges to clean the entire house so the battery life is pretty good. It’s easy to clean up too. Highly recommend. Even the pup approves!amanda.k

I love this vacuum. It doesn't find its way back home but it works miracles hands down picking up dog hair. I have seven Chihuahua's life was a nightmare with trying to keep up with the dog hair not any more. I run it every morning while I'm getting ready for work and then when I get home 12 hrs late from work. Its the best.Gwen

We call this little worker DJ Beetle! (get it… eh eh?? maybe not lol) He keeps our house looking amazing considering we have two dogs and a now 13 month old. It is easy to set up and easy to get a specific time set so it will automatically do it itself. What we do not like about it is that it does tend to get stuck sometimes and has some weird obsession with getting stuck in our bathroom and closing the door.. However, when the battery starts to die or it is done it's task of rocking the house it will return to base till his next mission. The downside to him in terms of cleaning is he is not very good at taking dog hair off low pile carpeting but considering he takes about 1 hour worth of cleaning off my plate everyday he has earned his keep in the house lol!tori.a

Overall I found that this unit clean the floors and rugs extremely well. Better than my upright. Here are some things I've learned. Even though it is relatively low profile it has gotten stuck under my couch and dresser. However, it does clean in tight areas under furniture given sufficient clearance that I don't normally clean that often. I found that the battery does not last the claimed 90 minutes nor does it know when to return to the charging station when the battery level is low so it just dies wherever. The phone app is unreliable primarily due to losing the wi-fi connection to the unit. I found doing selective room cleaning to be best by closing doors and limiting the area where it cleans. I wouldn't leave it running unattended until you get familiar with where it could get stuck. I would minimize clutter or other items on the floor that it could get caught on such as shoes laces or appliance wires, etc. While not as noisy as my upright, there is a constant sound level that some may find disturbing. One can still talk on the phone while it is running. Hey it has a motor… Navigation looks totally dumb as it will go over the same area a few times, but then one is assured that the area is clean. No matter I am happy with the vacuum as it saves me the time from dragging out the upright and from manually vacuuming. Instead I can be doing other things while it is working away!Mike

So impressed. I am not paid or given a free bot for this review. I researched for 4 months and settled on this model by Shark. I don't know why people are claiming that this robot marks walls it comes close but does not touch them in fact if it sees a object it slows down till it maneuvers around it. Everything advertised it does and does excellent. The app is very easy to use. People complain about the app but I think they are using cheap phones or tablets. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this unit, I watched tests between roombas and eufys and all the the robot vacuums that could self empty at twice to three times the shark was nothing is close. The main thing was all the other company's use Vslam and cameras for guidance they can not see in the dark and basically go in random action like a bump and go toy, Not this Shark that uses lidar which is a invisible rotating Laser for guidance it is perfect and works even in the dark. I had to laugh roombas latest self empty has a white spotlight led mounted above its camera so it can clean without bright sun or the lights on. So you can pay 1400.00 for the vslam spotlight robot or 500.00 for the shark and have 3yr vip warranty with latest tech and row by row cleaning, and individual room cleaning. I also want to point out that after it does a room row by row when it finishes that it goes all the way back around the border of that room. Suction power is excellent on max, but you can choose between eco, norm and max in the app. You can choose to have it go back to empty every 30 minutes and it will go right back where it left off. I never have had it not find the base or had to go find it. I know it can be frustrating when trying to decide on which robot vacuum to buy. Do yourself a favor and buy one if you don't like it they have a 90 Day return policy and the customer service is awesome and they do care.Speedracer

I was so excited to set up and start using my Shark AV2511AE AI Robot Vacuum with XL Self-Empty Base and I was not disappointed. It was easy to set up and charged pretty quickly. It was very easy to download the app and get the Shark working. The Shark will first map your space so it knows where to go each time it cleans. You can set up the Shark to clean on a schedule or you can tell it when to clean using the app. You can even send it out to spot-clean a small area if need be. When the Shark is full, it will automatically return to the base and empty itself in the base. Supposedly you can go 60 days without emptying the base. However, I have three children and a large dog and I do not believe that we can go that long without emptying the tank in the base. Even still, this is so much more convenient than my old robotic vacuum that I had to empty with each use, and often before it was finished vacuuming. Emptying the tank on the base is a breeze. The app will notify you if there is a problem with the Shark, for example, if it gets stuck on an uneven surface, or if something gets caught in the beater bar. There is also a function on the app to locate the Shark if it gets "lost" under a piece of furniture or something, but I have not had to use this function. Of course, the Shark will work best if your house is not cluttered and the floor is thoroughly clear of items such as toys or shoes. It moves easily from my hardwood floors onto my shag rug, and it's relatively quiet. The only con I can think of is that the base needs to be set up in an area with three feet of clearance on all sides. My house is not large and this really limits where we can put the base, but if you have a large house with a lot of open space this won't be an issue. It won't take the place of my regular vacuum for deep cleaning and corner cleaning but overall my house is so much cleaner with the Shark making its rounds regularly. I have owned this Shark for about 6 weeks now. This is kind of a mixed review, as there are some things I like, and some that need lots of improvement…. Starting with the likes.. The Shark is really good when it comes to cleaning, and lack of work I now have to do. I was able to map my house pretty easily, and she remembers everything (I think!). When she goes out to clean, she always does a thorough job, and everything looks clean. I haven’t had any issues with scratched baseboards or furniture – she does bump into things here and there, but no damages or anything. For the way she cleans, and the easiness of having her clean, I would give her a 5-star review……. But that leads me to the dislikes (it’s really one major dislike – but it really ruins everything about the machine)…. The App sucks – mostly when it comes to connecting to, and staying connected to the machine. I have a very strong internet signal at my house, and rarely have issues with any internet-connected items I have. This robot, however, just does not stay connected, and there really isn’t any easy way to simply reconnect (at least none that I can find). You have to go in through the App, and delete the machine, and then re-add it in order to re-connect to the internet. It wouldn’t be too bad if this happened periodically, but it’s everyday – and now, I just don’t bother anymore, I just hit the clean button to have her do her work! If it was just the App, and connection issues, I would make this review a 0-star! But the 2 issues put together give it my 3-star rating……. I plan to purchase another machine in the near future, but not sure if I will go with Shark again, as I really like the internet connectivity features – they are pretty important to me…. I had a first generation Roomba several years ago and was always amazed at the amount of dirt and hair it picked up. With several pets in the house, hair is always an issue. I run it every morning while I am eating breakfast/reading emails. It gets around the whole house and finds its way home when the battery gets low. I have thin Ruggable carpets that it goes over easily and thoroughly. It notifiies me on my phone when it is in trouble. Buddy is our very first household iRobot Roomba. We purchased this unit from Sam's Club back in December 2018 and at that time, the latest model was the i7. We decided on this model, because we didn't need additional features like the floor mapping and the auto emptying bin. We liked that this was wifi-capable and that it worked with our Google Home smart devices. We have been diligent in keeping Buddy clean after every use. He is scheduled to vacuum and clean the floor every other day. A Couple of Cons: 1. Sometimes he gets lost and can't find his home base, but that's because his home base was located where there were a lot of obstacles in the way. So we moved his charging home base to a better location and he hasn't had any problems finding it when his battery is low. 2. Buddy sometimes misses spots, but it's not a deal-breaker. Nothing that a second-run can't fix. 3. He has no problems cleaning rugs and carpets, but he truly hates our plush, fluffy rug (lol – there is another term for this rug, but the iRobot site flagged the term… good grief). So, we got rid of that rug. Problem solved. It is only this year that we decided to get the latest model – the s9 and m6 bundle. We are so impressed with Buddy that we did not hesitate to invest in other iRobot models for the house.Nicole

This is our first robot vacuum, and it was purchased to replace an old upright. We keep a pretty clean house, but some dirt and hair is shed daily. The allure of this product was daily cleaning without anyone needing to take the time to manage the vacuuming. A few things to appreciate: our relatively small home is covered by the vacuum which works its way around or under our furniture with relative ease in about 45 minutes, the app is intuitive, and the wireless connection allows setting up a cleaning job away from home and monitoring progress if you feel the need for such things. If you only have non-carpeted spaces and no pets, this is likely a good vacuum for your needs. Unfortunately, overall this robot vacuum doesn't work as advertised. We have an Australian Shepherd whose dog fur is picked up, wrapped up with other pieces of fur and then deposited in clumps on all carpeted surfaces (except for the pieces that are wrapped around the dual rubber brushes). This means we have to walk around after the job finishes to clean up clumps of knotted dog hair.  I don’t need to move my mats off the floor in the kitchen or the bathroom, pick my shoes up off the floor if I don’t want to or that shirt sitting over in the corner, I don’t have to worry it’s going to get stuck under at the bed because it does a great job navigating whatever it is under the bed and not only does it do a great job it identifies by taking a picture of whatever item is under there, and with a percentage of certainty it can assess what that item is not always great by does a pretty darn good job. It is by far, as other reviewers have noted, leaps and bounds …. ARTEMIS SIZE… GALACTICLY SUPERIOR to ANY other vacuum. And then, to add an amazing mop that is utilized simultaneously with the vacuuming feature, and the ability to customize from a light mop job to a extra duty session— YESSSSS nailed it in execution, nailed it in design, and nailed it in understanding the deficiencies of the current technologies on the market, and then bring the technology market 🙂 Summarized, and in general, I have been pretty darn critical of most of them tech purchases in the past 10 years because of shifty retailers, manufactures, ad campaigns, all implying, amazing features and benefits that blend into a disappointment and waste. If not a complete failure. It’s usually what is implied by the manufacture, but not stated that leaves disappointment in execution. And then, of course, there are the glaring issues, confronting consumers in the marketplace by way of the retailers, not Best Buy that don’t care about the customer enough to mandate that pro product descriptions are actually in English enough to understand but to me that basically means that a manufacture doesn’t really care about the American consumer at all because if they did, they would find somebody who speaks English enough to write a manual for whatever product and to write print and advertise that product in a way that respects the customer and doesn’t make them have to read between the lines or reword, poor grammatical errors, because of a lack of regard that upsets me more than anything so I’m very glad to have retailers that are still around like Best Buy where I know specifications for a product are going to be the specs for the product. Anyway, the bottom line is, this is a win. I’m pleased, and I have not been pleased in the product and I can say this pretty certainly in a very, very long time, so great job, Robo rock. You know this industry segment is still very young when the best robot vacuum by far which is this S7 MaxV Ultra has quite a few areas to improve on but all in all. I LOVE IT! This is advanced AI coupled with top level engineering at its finest for robot vacuum cleaners. At this point, Roborock is Roborock's biggest competitor – however, there's def room for improvement. Below is everything the bot does really well that are selling points. For the "Needs to improve" I'll indicate whether these are software fixes or hardware changes which means you'd have to wait for the next version and hope the changes are built in as part of the bots physical hardware component. Best Features – Intuitive UI & navigation software packed with useful features (3D map, 2 way calling, etc) – Ability to auto fill bot with water, auto empty dustbin and wash mop – Great battery life (my experience) – On board video camera to see where bot is cleaning – Carpet detection feature with mop auto lift – AI obstacle recognition, avoidance & tagging – Room recognition with machine learning capabilities. – Various cleaning configuration settings Needs to improve – Show water levels in app (hardware fix) – Increased suction doesn't do much for carpets. Still misses threads and small particles from time to time. (hardware fix) – Ability to copy routines and schedules (software fix) – Ability to save zones just like we do with rooms (software fix) – Ability to rearrange routines order so they show up on the homescreen shortcut in the order we want (software fix) – Ability to delete rooms (software fix) – App update for things like: Create shortcut for schedules on home screen for quicker access (software fix), Ability to select custom shape for zone cleaning, currently square shape (software fix), etc. – Bigger tires to clear higher obstacle climbs. I purchased the J7 after I decided to retire my few years old Roborock S4 to the basement and get some newer technology. If the J7 was my first robot vacuum purchase I would probably be happy. But when compared to my previous one this has too many annoying problems. Let me start with what it does better. First, it really is a good-looking vacuum. Much nicer than the homely S4. Next, the amount of pet hair and dirt it collects is at least 30% better than the S4. So isn't that what a vacuum is supposed to do? Vacuum? Why 3 stars? Because it only finishes a cleaning job 50% of the time. Reviewing the last 30 cleaning jobs on the app, only 14 finished. There are way too many issues that require my intervention to get a finished job. It sucks up objects it is supposed to avoid, brushes get stuck with pet hair, doesn't dock properly so not charged for next job, strands itself because it didn't recognize no-go zone, etc. It is rare I need to help along the S4 except to empty the much larger dust bin or clean the washable filter (which the Roomba does not have). I wouldn't say I totally regret this purchase but given the opportunity to do it again I would go with another Roborock. BTW, as I write this review the Roomba has not cleaned in 6 days while I wasn't home. Battery was dead sitting on the charging dock.BretLee

I bought this in 2018. It has worked less than half the time since then. I am constantly trouble shooting issues. Currently have an error 11 that I cannot seem to resolve and of course it now recommends purchasing another battery. The replacement parts have already cost a fortune to keep the thing running as little as it does and the new battery they want me to purchase is $100. Not really Inclined to spend more money trying to keep this thing running. The small amount of time it actually worked it did an ok job. So, as of this date I've tried: AnotherBrandE30; Roomba e6; Roomba 985; and Roomba i7. This Roomba e6 is the surprising winner! Frankly, Lil Bubba bounces around in an annoyingly random manner — but man he sucks up the dirt! Better than the 985, and the i7 so far as I can see. Here's the challenge: average sized home, three *curses* carpeted bedrooms. Rest of home is tile or hardwood. A long history of being owned by animals (four-legged, domesticated type). Essentially, a giant petri dish of year-round allergens. Roomba e6: Simple, hardest-working, effective. Yes, he lacks a rational mapping program. So, yes, he will bounce around seemingly randomly, to clean the space. I will say in his defense that when he finds a wall or senses an edge, he will run along it, and follow for example, a tight turn around furniture legs, etc. So there is some "logic" of a kind. But this guy is sturdy which is why I love him so. He has *never* registered "dirty sensors,* he keeps ploughing through even when his little wheels are all wrapped up in pet hair (do clean them regularly!), and never gets lost or stuck anywhere. He just works hard, returns home and docks himself. No fanfare — I LOVE MY LIL BUBBA! He cleans like a mother-on-a-mission! The first time I ran him through the master it took only ten minutes for his bin to fill (head bowed in shame). There was pet hair in there that must have been left by two pet-generations ago! He just kept at it. Keep in mind, this carpet had been "cleaned" by conventional vacuums prior to buying these irobots! Ten runs later, he had cleaned down to the underlay for the full hour! But here's the thing — because he lacks a mapping program, he works best if contained in a specific space. So, set up the sensors to keep him confined to one room at a time and he'll be fine. Probably not as effective to give him full run of the house. Did I mention I LOVE him? Lil Bubba's suck-power seems way greater (at "5x!") than the i7 (at "10x!") power.OwnedByCritters

I purchased this unit yesterday for the 2nd floor of my home. I have removed all of the carpet throughout and just have ceramic tile on the 1st floor and vinyl plank on the 2nd floor. Purchased this i4 for the 2nd floor and only use it in my bedroom right now. After 18 minutes of use (the time it took to vacuum my bedroom), it redocked. Decided to try out the Google command to vacuum again 15 minutes later and received error 26 that I needed to remove debris. There was next to no debris in it as I had vacuumed manually prior to the 1st run. I haven't been able to get the error to go away, even after washing out the bin and checking everything. I even tried the reboot to clear the error. Nothing works. Been trying to figure it out for hours. Shouldn't break after 18 minutes of light use!Travis

We have had the cleaning base replaced and still issues with it not connecting or not charging. It works great when it does work but I am soooo tired of having to trouble shoot this thing. For the price, I wish it worked betterSLW

Hard to argue with the price, as I got this for 90 on Home Deliveries USA they had a 60 coupon you could click. I helped my parents get a much nicer one, but I needed to save the money and knew I was sacrificing some capabilities, particularly after helping them set theirs up. This thing gets the job 80% done. No mapping capabilities so it doesn’t track its location. Pretty sure the charging base uses radio frequency communication, which the robot only reads once within about 5-7 feet. You can see it realizes it’s finally near it, and then it tries to line itself up. Vacuum power is a little weak and misses items such as cat litter on hard floors pretty easily. Without a roller brush, the vacuum is going to miss things here and there. It’s also very basic programming, and will struggle to get back to its base. It will even knock it’s own base around during cleaning and sometimes make it impossible to get back to its base, so you’ll want to adhere it to the floor. I have a U shaped apartment, and if it ever ends its cleaning cycle in the opposite side of the U, it has a long journey of bumps and confusion trying to find its way back to the charging base on the opposite side of the U. I also had to buy furniture risers rubber pads because if it could just barely fit under something, it would turn itself off. The power button is easy to press under furniture and then you have to find the bugger just sleeping under your couch, so add some adhesive bumpers around the power button, and that’s resolved. Although I was concerned it wasn’t doing much at all at first, I found during cleaning that it has a substantial amount of mess inside it’s tank, and cleaning the filters was fairly easy. Plus, when I get tired of it bumping around endlessly trying to find its base, which it eventually does most times, you can use the app as a remote controller, which is a critical feature in my opinion. If I want to ensure my bedroom is hit, I can drive it there first and then let.Matt

I have a small apartment and 3 cats. I had to vacuum daily to keep up. I’d always found robot vacs to be out of reach because of the high cost. Now you can pick up a decent machine for less than the cost of a good regular vacuum. The xiaomi robot vac is fantastic it traverses small obstacles like edge of rugs and the lip onto the tiles of my bathroom. The robot easily picks up cat hair, kitty litter, crumbs and more with a single pass and the dust bin is large enough to clean my 2 rooms bathroom and hallway once maybe even twice. The robot accurately maps my apartment intellectually segmenting and efficiently cleaning every corner of the room. With 4 operating powers the vac can silently move about at lowest suction to moving about at the same noise of a regular vac at its highest suction. The robot has no issues slowing down and avoiding pets moving about the house. My cats hated the regular vacuum noise but love the robot, following the robot around fascinated.Clint K

It is quite easy to set up and links with various weather services. Some of them are quite esoteric to set up and others such as weather underground really easy. The station needs some skill to install since it needs to be stable, level and away from any interference so placement is important. The outdoor sensor unit is a single unit with all of the sensors inbuilt. You may want to spray the outdoor unit with surface spray to stop spiders nesting in the rain gauge. It has a battery backup but its primary power source is a solar panel which chargers a supercap (super capacitor which holds charge to power the sensor pack). The supercap replaces what would normally be a lithium battery, the advantage being that a supercap will not degrade over time as a lithium battery would. The only servicing required would be to replace the backup batteries and clean spiders et al from the sensors. The spikes on the rain collector are a nice touch but I think it needs some hot melt glue to hold it in place since it has slipped down on mine. The outdoor sensor unit communicates with the base station using wireless (not WiFi) and the base unit connects to your local WiFi network. The base unit uses WiFi to send its data to the various services that you connect it to. There is an app (iOS or Android) which is used to set it up and once set up you can get basic sensor data in the app. Using your weather service of choice you can see current sensor data and history for as long as it has been running. Some of the services also have apps which you can use to see the sensor data. You can also set up your own database to record the sensor data. The quality is fine given that it is not the most expensive station but it is good for the price. There are far more accurate weather stations but again they are a lot more expensive. Overall it is quite easy to set up and quite reliable but will benefit from regular maintenance such as cleaning, reapplying the surface spray and replacing the backup batteries to ensure it remains operational.jhancock1955

After reading the previous reviews I decided to purchase this one and I'm not disappointed. Great little robot cleaner – does an excellent job to keep the floor clean in between major vac. The app is fairly simple – I haven't mastered the zone cleaning set up yet so I just turn on and let it do it's thing. I was amazed at how much it picked up in it's first clean. Didn't receive the AUS power cord and had to chase up but Kogan Customer Service was very responsive and I received the cord in a few days. I would definitely recommend this productHonnie B

Après quelques jours d’utilisation, le Deebot X1 m’est devenu indispensable. Il aspire avec une grande efficacité et sa brosse en silicone a l’avantage de ne pas retenir les poiles de chien. La navigation du Deebot est tres fluide. Sa caméra lui permet d’éviter les câbles ou divers objets présents sur les sols. La plus grosse innovation de ce robot est pour moi la présence de deux serpillières rotative qui frotte réellement le sol. Le nettoyage est vraiment de bonne qualité et ne laisse aucune trace. Autres fonctions très pratique, la base du robot nettoie et sèche automatiquement les serpillières. L’autonomie du robot est tout à fait correct. I've had a few robot vacuums over the past few years. I've tried the big names like Neato D-Vacs / Roombas ($400-$700 range) and I found that while they had great suction power and capacity, their navigation abilities made them useless. All the cleaning power in the world means nothing if your robot vacuum never makes it back to it's base to charge and you're stuck hunting for it to carry it home everyday. I got this Eufy G30 Verge on a special buy price of $169 down from the usual $350, and it absolutely blows all of the other robot vacuums I've tried out of the water. It's very deceiving when you first fire it up since it's extremely thin and makes very little noise. I actually tried feeding it a couple dust bunnies to make sure it was on because it was so quiet. Despite this, 30mins into letting it map my house, I had to empty the dust bin because it was full….. with dust and hair (as seen in the pic)…. that was still on my floor without me being able to see it after manually vacuuming the day before. It ran for about an hour and generated a full map of my 1000 square foot condo before heading back directly to it's dock to charge. You can watch it generate the map using the app, and you can see that it uses that map to navigate your home perfectly. It moved in clean lines and then shot to areas of the condo that had missing boundaries on the map to fill in the data. Its very clear watching this bot move that it's far more intelligent than non-mapping bots, especially those that just bump around forever. SUMMARY The compact and stylish Eufy G30 Verge is the king of navigating homes and always making it back to its dock. While it may lack the power and capacity of some of it's larger robot vacuum rivals such as the Neato D-Bot or Samsung models, it is more than capable of ridding your low-pile carpet and hard floors of hair and dust. Although I wouldn't recommend this for homes with operating areas larger than 1000 square feet or large levels of hair and debris like food, this is the perfect bot vac for areas less than 1000 square feet that is generally clean but you would like to maintain. This isn't a miracle worker that can deep clean your floors, but with a price tag of under $200 it's an absolute steal.Alex

I usually love the brand, Eufy. I have had two now. My first one is the first edition and it lasted a few years before it started to be really loud. It still sucked (literally sucked, not it was bad, sucked), but was too loud. So, I bought this one to replace my old one. I put my old one upstairs and kept this one downstairs. First off, it was a fantastic robot. It sucked everything up really well! It was really quiet and really fast. I keep really good care of everything I own. So, I regularly cleaned the filter and cleaned the wheels and did maintenance on to keep it going good. The warranty ran out at 12 months and at 13-14 months my little robot stopped sucking as well and became really loud. I contacted the Eufy corporate office and they told me a bunch of things to do to help the robot. So, I cleaned everything again and the problem stayed the same. I replied again and they offered me a discount. I explained that I think I might have a faulty one because my other one has lasted for years. Also, I did not want to buy another one for it to stop working at 13 months. They then offered a replacement kit, which contained brushes. I already had bought brand new brushes and I knew that this was not the problem. It stopped sucking up debris, so brushes were not what I needed. I explained all of this to them and they said that there warranty is for 12 months and I can honor the discount and that is all they can do. They and I were very polite to each other, but we just do not agree. I normally only review if an item was good, but I just did not want someone else to buy this and have it not work one to two months after the warranty runs out.CJ

My ex-roommates used to have a eufy 35C robot vacuum, and I must say it kept a very neat apartment for us in the context that my roommates had two long hair cats. Lately, I moved to a bigger townhouse and got a cute British shorthair of my own finally. To make my life easier, I firstly bought a Roborock S6 pure because it had a decent discount. However, it didn't work so well on cleaning the hair as I expected. Moreover, it gets stuck by the circular bases of my floor lamp and bars stools all the time, which is quite annoying. Meanwhile, I found Eufy just released a new robot vacuum and I was thinking how about give it a try since the Roborock is still within the duration of free return. It turns out to be a very wise decision. The new Eufy X8 hybrid can have an almost full dustbin even though the floor was just cleaned by Roborock, which is very impressive. In addition, this guy got a smooth move and has good obstacle avoidance ability. Even my friend (who is still a student driver) admits her turning skill is not as good as the robot. Also, the complex terrain is not a problem anymore. It can get over those round bases very easily. It does have a bit louder noise (due to its dual turbines I suppose) and is pricier than Roborock S6 pure though, I think it perfectly fits my needs as a vacuum robot helper and a good friend of my kitty. All in all, I give 5 stars for this purchase and will recommend it to all my pets' parents friends.Luke

There is much to like about this vacuum, including its map-building and no-go zones, as well as how much it sucks (hehe, never heard that one before I bet). You can adjust the suction power and intelligence in the app. It's quite a bit louder when you put it on max or do a spot clean. All that said, for my apartment, the mop function just feels useless. The mop is always in contact with the floor, with no retraction or shielding mechanism. Combine that with the fact that the base station only makes sense to place in a carpeted area in my apartment, and if I place the vacuum manually, it has to position itself, which can involve going up on the carpet, and the end result is that I have to manually intervene quite a bit to ensure it doesn't sully the carpet with the mop. That's even with the no-go zones since it doesn't seem to know where to go or not go until it positions itself. And of course we're doing all this work for what amounts to a rag attached to the bottom of the vacuum to be dragged around. Given how involved it all is, and how small of an area I have to mop, I'd rather just wipe up manually as spills happen. But I still give the device 4-5 stars across its categories because I didn't buy it for the mop. I figured that part wouldn't be of much use to me. I bought this because the discounts currently being offered actually made the X8 Hybrid cheaper than the plain X8. Anyway, good little vacuum overall!Dibbs

The cleaner itself is an excellent replacement for the monster cylinder vacuum we already had, which was too big to be stored anywhere in our fairly small house. I wanted a cleaner which would go under much of our furniture which sits 10cm above the floor, and which has been a no-go area for vacuum cleaners since time began. It's remarkable the way it scuttles under the furniture and meticulously cleans in the corners and around furniture legs. Our floors have never been cleaner. It's true that it can't do the stairs and it's hopeless at getting cobwebs from the ceiling(!) but I've bought a lightweight vacuum for those two areas. The remote control is good, but is very much line-of-sight. I wanted to put the docking point beneath some furniture but I had to kneel on the floor with the remote in order to control it! Then there's the app which is a disgrace to be associated with Miele. Simply getting it paired was a trial; after attempting over several days and a long phone call with Miele, they eventually suggested returning the vacuum to John Lewis, which I did. Surprisingly, since it's the same software, the replacement did successfully pair. But several emails to Miele and another long phone call still hasn't enabled me to tell it "where you want it to clean" (quote from the App Store). If only Miele put a little investment into sorting out this problem and linking the app to Alexa and Google Home, this would be a killer product. As it is, there are probably better products on the market for a similar price.daveoftruro

We have wooden floors throughout and this cleans very well. We have a part time springer also and a daily auto clean function picks pet hairs up really well. Positives,- saves hours vacuuming, good for hard floors, cleans for one hour, good coverage . Negatives- small dust compartment ( I empty after every 1-2 cleans), battery works harder on carpet ( we don't have much but I imagine this is where a lot more power would be used and runtime less). App is dreadful, rang technical support who couldn't get it to work either, eventually I switched it from iPad to iPhone and it now works fine.L Harper

Set it up according to the directions on the app. It mapped the house just fine. Started the app and it says it needs to update the firmware. Begin the update and it continuously times out the connection. Have tried for 3 days to no avail. I have emailed the companies tech support, but they do not answer back. Until this issue is fixed the app is useless.Frank

It was a bit difficult to get setup online an within 5 minutes of starting it I got error messages. And after I restarted it I had to babysit it because I would get error message after error message and could never find anything wrong I sent it back the same day.Kevin
