This is not a Wi-Fi enabled smart device, and works directly with a pre-programmed remote control. Which in these days of the Internet of things I'm OK with. I learned of this vacuum from reading a Consumer Reports article where it was listed as having the best features for the price. I find this little robo vacuum to be perfect for my application, which is roughly 1100 square foot condominium with hardwood and tile floors, and also furniture that it can pass under. The article indicated that this vaccuums patterns can appear very random, which I would agree. Many times I find it going over the same spot numerous times. But it is true that it will eventually cover about 80-90% of the room that it is cleaning. With some exceptions. There are times I have to manually direct it to areas missed. But for the price, I find it to be an excellent robo Vacuum that saves me the hassle of doing it myself. Also the edging feature is quite productive. The vacuum is able to follow along all of the walls, cabinets etc of a room and make fairly tight turns around corners and obstacles. I would not recommend this vacuum however if you have carpeting or even thick piled floor rugs. It does not have a roller rather it has some spinning sweepers on the corners that direct dirt into its suction port. Those types of applications I assume would be reserved for the higher end robo vacuums. Ultimately I think I'm hooked on never having to push a vacuum again and when this thing burns out I will happily replace it with a more advanced model.
I like this little guy and I like that it’s not a smart product but I didn’t expect it to actually be so dumb. It isn’t connected to Alexa and I liked that about it but it doesn’t go in a straight line half the time and it can’t seem to find its way back to the docking station. It does drive me crazy that it’s not mappable and it will clean the same area over and over and over but miss a whole section and then run out of juice and have to go take a nap and recharge. But it does do great on the edges and it does go under things because it’s slim – traditional bots probably can’t get under some of the things this one does and I like that it comes in white. It’s very easy to clean it’s just kind of annoying because I sometimes find myself sweeping to it or following it around with a remote control to make it go a certain way. However my husband loves it and has stop shutting all the doors to every single bedroom because now he doesn’t care of the cats hide under the bed during a thunderstorm because this thing goes in and out underneath the bed and does a really great job. The suction power is awesome and it does pick up cat fur and litter and everything. It’s a really good vacuum I just wish I could get it to do a better job just in one room but that’s my fault because I have an open house. I don’t have doors to keep it in one room at a time – that would help the problem but The layout of my house is not like that. So anyway it’s a pretty good purchase for the price and my suggestion would be to use the honey app because I added it to the wish list and two days after I bought it the price went down $40 and then six days after that I got another honey alert that my drop listed item had a new price and it was $60 cheaper so I would say add it to your wish list on honey first and wait to get that email alert and then buy it and you should save some money. I would suggest getting the warranty just in case it runs into the cat water bowl. Hope this helps somebody! (I did not tell my husband that it ran into the cat water bowl LOL and it’s still running! )
I purchased this model from Amazon and I love it! It is very easy to use and does a great job. I got it mostly to keep my litter problem controlled since my cats track it everywhere and it's kept my floors clean since I got it. Occasionally it is a little random in it's movements when set to auto and it will miss a section from time to time. I also have to clean the brushes pretty often because hair gets tangled quickly but I still give it 5 stars. It is very quiet and it's truly only as loud as a microwave. After a while one of the side brushes started squeaking and I looked for troubleshooting tips on the website and none of them worked, even a replacement motor, so I contacted support. They were prompt and very helpful. Once we figured out it was an internal issue they sent me a replacement. They kept in touch to make sure the new one was received and working well and still assisted me when I had follow up questions. I would 100% recommend getting a Eufy.

I bought this for a friend that has back issues and vacuuming is difficult. She loves it, but she didn't have high expectations. I tried setting up the app but was unable to resolve wifi connectivity issues. I didn't try that hard, so maybe it could be resolved with a larger investment in time. It is run manually, as needed, and seems to work well as it transitions from hard floors to medium height pile carpeting. It can't always seem to find its base, but she doesn't keep the base right out in the open, as suggested, because it wouldn't look very nice. Small modifications to the house help it avoid problems, like a bumper on a fire place to keep the bot from going too far in and causing damage to trim, also, lowered a threshold between rooms so that the bot could cross over in both directions. It does have fairly impressive off-road capabilities and was making it over a large threshold, but was trapped on the other side. The terrain doesn't need to be really flat. If your willing to work with it and don't expect it to work miracles, it can be a purchase you don't regret. It has been almost a year of ownership. No parts to be replaced yet.
I admit, I am a robot groupie. As such, I've have about 8 vacuum bots over the years including the first Roomba (had no numbers in the name, just Roomba). I also have 7 cats and 2 dogs, so you know the Roombas are working in our house. If you have deep pile carpeting, this is the best bang for the buck of the major brands on the market. At present, I also have the i6 (exactly like the i7), and although it is great on floors and short pile carpeting I have in the kitchen and living room (and I absolutely LOVE the automatic empty feature), it's not great on the deep pile carpets I have in my bedroom. I also have a Eufy 11s and it is good for floors, but not for carpeting. The Shark is basically useless. However, this guy is great! The brushes really clean the carpets well, and when it finishes, the carpets look as though they have been vacuumed with a heavy duty, non-robotic, plug-in vacuum. This is not just my own opinion. I've other folks look and they were quite honestly surprised by how well the 690 vacuumed the carpets. "It works this well on the carpets? I thought robot vacuums were only for floors." I love this robot!
I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. Significant improvements from the i7, still not sure if we'll keep it past the 60 day trial period. The good: app is easy to use and has great features for dividing and naming rooms. The robot will recharge and then continue cleaning small jobs, whole house, or anything in between. It's smart and learns how much time rooms take and adjusts charging times accordingly. Roomba's dual rubber brushes still do a better job on carpet than the traditional brush rollers everyone else uses. The bad: sometimes the map takes wonky shapes that don't look like your house. Even so, it still seems to clean everywhere and after a few days modifies the map to look more realistic. There are still a couple spots on our map that look funky, but it hasn't taken away from actually cleaning everywhere. The ugly: front caster wheel started squeaking on the third day of use; they're sending us a replacement wheel that will hopefully solve this problem. Customer support and response through email was quite good. On a few occasions the robot tried to dock sideways but corrected itself. One time it docked just crooked enough (photo attached, notice red error light on base) that it wouldn't charge or empty itself; it did send an error message saying it needed our help. Our biggest gripe that might make us return it for a refund is that even with a well defined and established map for several weeks, it still bumps into furniture, walls, etc too hard, so hard that it actually moves lighter pieces of furniture such as plant stands. Roomba, how about a software update to soften these blows? Pro tip: do NOT do a mapping run when you first get the robot, because that makes it hit everything even harder. Just do normal cleaning and accept the fact it will take 2-3 complete runs before the map is complete. Bottom line: competitors with LiDAR map quicker and more accurately, but iRobot's performance is consistently good with just a few quirks. The biggest drawback is how hard it hits things.
It's a good little machine, but the suction isn't stellar. Even the one of the Self-Empty base isn't very good. I have a Roomba for my Birds to pick up stray seeds that fell out, and it often misses some, and on the self empty base- most seeds stay behind inside the Roomba-Canister. I also do not like, that you can not set roomba to do criss cross vacuuming like another Brand I know. Meaning, setting it for an extra thorough clean, where it first goes the room lengthwise and a second round side to side. The only thing that made me decide for the Roomba after trying that other Brand is, the app works really well. You can set different schedules for different days and Roomba works well with Alexa, and notifies you of any issues or completed jobs. The other Brand, with a unstable, constantly crashing app, not working well with Alexa and most of all the very limited scheduling capabilities- had phenomenal mapping and exceptional cleaning capability and no vaccume bag needed (Hepa Filter with removable easy dump cannister on the charging Station. BUT not having a good app, limited scheduling capability would have made it a little less useful and more of a headache in the long run. So I decided for the Roomba. It does take amusing pictures and I still love and enjoy my little Roomba. Maybe my CON's will be PRO's down the Road when those things are improved and I will certainly opt for that newer Generation. Til then my little guy will be good enough, just not perfect yet- overall still a good little Robot to have.
I purchased the J7 after I decided to retire my few years old Roborock S4 to the basement and get some newer technology. If the J7 was my first robot vacuum purchase I would probably be happy. But when compared to my previous one this has too many annoying problems. Let me start with what it does better. First, it really is a good-looking vacuum. Much nicer than the homely S4. Next, the amount of pet hair and dirt it collects is at least 30% better than the S4. So isn't that what a vacuum is supposed to do? Vacuum? Why 3 stars? Because it only finishes a cleaning job 50% of the time. Reviewing the last 30 cleaning jobs on the app, only 14 finished. There are way too many issues that require my intervention to get a finished job. It sucks up objects it is supposed to avoid, brushes get stuck with pet hair, doesn't dock properly so not charged for next job, strands itself because it didn't recognize no-go zone, etc. It is rare I need to help along the S4 except to empty the much larger dust bin or clean the washable filter (which the Roomba does not have). I wouldn't say I totally regret this purchase but given the opportunity to do it again I would go with another Roborock. BTW, as I write this review the Roomba has not cleaned in 6 days while I wasn't home. Battery was dead sitting on the charging dock.BretLee

Hubby and I bought our roborock in Dec 2021 from Godfreys. She has been used every 2nd day (mopping and vacuming) for almost 5 months now with no issues other than general maintenance like wiping over her sensors. We DO NOT expect this machine to function as a full on vacume, but rather just to pick up the daily debris and leaves etc that our little dogs walk into the house and to be a quick mopping once over. We aren't overly messy people and don't have kids. Things we love: – She really cleans! – You can set up lines and walls in the app so she doesn't go near stairs etc (Though she does have the stairs function where she auto-senses that its a drop off and she will vacume along it but not fall off the edge- this is extremely anxiety inducing to witness lol) – The mopping and sweeping all happens from the same machine. Saves me having to run 2 and saves me having to vacume before i manually mop if i choose to though I haven't needed to at all yet because the robot does such a great job for me. (we have hardwood floors and no kids) -I love that she auto-docks herself and takes herself home when the battery gets low so that i don't have to bother doing it and that she can run while i'm not at home. – I like that she 'talks' and tells you whats wrong if something does go wrong. – She does a great job on carpets, we have her set to high suction on carpets and lower on the hardwood and she actually collects all the dust and debris rather than pushing it around like our vacume does on the hardwoods. – I love that you can schedule it for when you're home or not home – The app is pretty user friendly and the whole thing gets up and running in no time when you buy her new. – I LOVE that she is so tiny she can get under the oven and under the bed. Places that my vacume just can't get. The overall result is a much less dusty home – I like that you can see what she's up to or where she's stuck on the app even when you're not home. – I love that she auto senses walls and furniture and doesn't knock stuff over or leave scuff marks on the walls or furniture. Things that could be better – The walls and the "no go zones" are a bit hit and miss. Especially if you move furniture and she can then get in there. – ITS LOUD on full speed/high suction. Not nearly as loud as a regular vacume of course, but its extremely annoying when shes in the same room as you lol. (Having said that- I am an extra sensitive person and have noise rreactive ptsd so I am very likely over exadurrating how annoying it is. It really doesn't bother my husband at all) -I WISH it came with the auto-empty station. Ours gets full after 2 goes around our house (we have a big house though and she does every room). I often forget to empty her and a spoken reminder when the machine runs next would be nice or for a bundle deal when buying both. -When she mops, if you have anything powdery on the floor she may leave streaks of her every pass all over your floors. But this isn't really some thing to worry excessively about, it only happened to us because hubby left jiprock residue on the floor and then she cleaned lol. – She will eat ALL cords. You have to be EXTREMELY careful with phone charging cords, power cords and especially headphones, cos she WILL suck them up and get stuck and probably break them (she ate my senheizer headphones lol) – She will try to eat your curtains if they're sheers and sit on the floor lol. -The black version which we have shows dust badly on the top of her, just needs a frequent wipe down. – The little bin that holds the rubbish is tiny and its tedious as heck to try and empty it out completely, the housing for the filter means you can't just remove the filter and tip out the rubbish, you need to stand there and manually prize it out of all the little nooks and crannies. Not overly annoying but i wish the whole end just opened and then it'd all slide out and into the bin with minimal handling too, the way it is now, you have to pinch the fluff and dust goes flying everywhere. Overall though, I really love the little thing and she's saving my back and my vacumes life. She's extremely handy and i'll definitely buy this brand again if/when we need to upgrade.Penegeau
The marketing materials indicate this robot can map multiple floors and then know which floor its on. This isn't strictly true. This only works if the robot is unable to see another floor when it maps. I have a house with split levels. The robot is able to see all the split levels because its lidar bounces from the walls so the floors are mapped. However, if you move the robot into one of the split levels, it is completely lost. It isn't an option to create another map for the split level because you can only create one map for the same area. When I contacted the company about this, they suggested using a ramp to get the robot in and out of the split level areas. Kludged to say the least plus one of my split levels is approximately 2 ft lower than the main floor and the robot is incapable of climbing a ramp at that angle. They advised that the R&D department might find a fix, but no guarantees or timeline. I am also disappointed with the running time which, in my experience, is no where near the 3 hours quoted. After trawling through other's experiences on Reddit, I discovered that keeping the mop and water tank attached causes too much drag on the carpet, meaning the robot's battery drains quickly. To clean just one floor of my house on one charge, I have to vacuum the carpets first, then attach the mop and water tank and clean the hard floors. Again, this is a very different experience to what I expected because the marketing materials indicate the robot can do it all in one cycle. The only reason that I've given this robot 3 stars is because it does clean well, but I paid more for this robot than competitor models because of the multi floor mapping and mop/vacuum 'in one go' options. I've been thinking about getting a robot hoover for a while now and I bought the Roborock finally! Super easy to set up – it needs to be placed in an area that has space on either side and in front of it to allow it to work effectively. Once the docking station is in place and the vacuum is on the dock it's as simple as downloading the dedicated app and following the instructions. It's simple and intuitive to set up and caused me no issues. Once you're all ready to go I suggest letting it fully charge before setting it to work. In order to get the best out of the vacuum let it do a few 'map runs' before starting cleaning. This basically means he moves about your house learning about your environment and creating a virtual map – he does this without cleaning so it's faster. After the mapping run my full downstairs was mapped out and ready to clean. A really good feature is that you can draw exclusions zones and also zones where you want extra cleaning such as a high traffic area – this has worked well for me as I excluded the area around my cat food bowls so the vacuum doesn't eat any wet cat food! If you're looking for a robot vacuum look no further – save the extra money for the Roborock and don't settle for a substandard product. I don't hoover my house anymore because this guy does it for me and does a far better job than I ever could!Michele

I got this on sale from Target after watching its price for a while. This seems to be the best combination of (relative) affordability and performance on the market from the professional review sites I looked at beforehand. Taking it home and running it, I found that it actually performs much better than my old upright vacuum with zero hassle. I have it vacuuming areas of tile, utility carpet, and medium carpet in my 1200 sqft apartment. It does an excellent job with all of these surfaces. If I have it vacuum the whole place, it does need to charge about mid-way and maybe empty a couple times in the middle, which I think is reasonable considering that we have a dog and it is picking up a bunch of hair each time. Regarding specific gripes in other reviews: yes, the emptying sound is loud (but not jet engine, more like the volume of a regular vacuum) but only lasts a few seconds. I find that it picks up dog hair pretty well. It also handles thresholds/rug edges fine at about 1cm. It bumps into things when learning, of course, but not with much force contrary to some reviews. As for the learning, it didn't take much for it to master my oddly-shaped layout between the rooms and the furniture in them. I definitely would spring for the base instead of just getting the bot. That way you can truly start it and forget about it instead of having to manually empty a few times as it putters around. Overall: 100% recommend with no regrets and I wish I had gotten one sooner.thebandageman
I bit the bullet and upgraded from a dumb robot vacuum (ecovacs N7) to this smart robot vacuum because it was on sale for $200 off MSRP. Three months later and I've been completely satisfied with the upgrade. Thanks to the mapping feature on the J7 I was able to replace 2 existing vacuums and know that my entire upstairs got cleaned. The old vacuum would get stuck in a room because it couldn't find the door and keep cleaning the same area till it ran out of power. The self emptying dust bin is a great time saver and means less maintenance each week. The sensors and programming are much better at keeping the J7 from getting stuck and having to be rescued. I'm not thrilled about sharing my floorplan and cleaning schedules with iRobot, or any company. The roombas are very expensive. Even more expensive if you have multiple floors and need daily cleaning in all areas and have to get multiple vacuums. It's brushes will leave a few little twists of felted up hair behind if you have pets, long hair, or both so it's not a pristine clean unless you have it do a deep clean every time. However, I am more than willing to deal with those negatives for all the benefits that this robot vacuum offers over my old robot vacuums. If you want to see if a robot vacuum is for you I'd suggest getting a cheap one to try with for a year or two. No robot vacuum is perfect or capable of competing with a traditional vacuum. If you can accept the compromises though and find them beneficial then I would highly recommend getting this model when it's on sale. I can't say if it's really worth it over other models at the full MSRP though.JoshuaNormal
It's a good little machine, but the suction isn't stellar. Even the one of the Self-Empty base isn't very good. I have a Roomba for my Birds to pick up stray seeds that fell out, and it often misses some, and on the self empty base- most seeds stay behind inside the Roomba-Canister. I also do not like, that you can not set roomba to do criss cross vacuuming like another Brand I know. Meaning, setting it for an extra thorough clean, where it first goes the room lengthwise and a second round side to side. The only thing that made me decide for the Roomba after trying that other Brand is, the app works really well. You can set different schedules for different days and Roomba works well with Alexa, and notifies you of any issues or completed jobs. The other Brand, with a unstable, constantly crashing app, not working well with Alexa and most of all the very limited scheduling capabilities- had phenomenal mapping and exceptional cleaning capability and no vaccume bag needed (Hepa Filter with removable easy dump cannister on the charging Station. BUT not having a good app, limited scheduling capability would have made it a little less useful and more of a headache in the long run. So I decided for the Roomba. It does take amusing pictures and I still love and enjoy my little Roomba. Maybe my CON's will be PRO's down the Road when those things are improved and I will certainly opt for that newer Generation. Til then my little guy will be good enough, just not perfect yet- overall still a good little Robot to have.

This Christmas Cindy gave me a Roomba. I've been hectored by allergies all my life and yet we have two dogs who eject hair and dander like lawn sprinklers. Her idea was that the thing would keep the house clear of pestilential allergens. "Uh, thanks, I guess," was my enthusiastic response. There was no way this steroidal hockey puck was anything but a gimmick. I turned it on and it proceeded to recochet off the walls and furniture like a pinball. Archie the Ratter attacked, broadcasting more sinus irritants as he went into fight-or-flight mode. Undeterred, the bot skittered haphazardly over hard and carpeted surfaces and after awhile Archie and I forgot about it. A couple hours later I noticed it had docked on its little charger. I thought it was cool that it found its home after wandering aimlessly over the living room, kitchen, mudroom and central hallway. I went to empty the gizmo and was surprised to find it full of compacted dust bunnies and Archie debris. The rugs and hickory floor looked pretty good to boot. I waited a few hours and ran it again, and again the thing was full of stuff. I did this over and over until it came up empty. My rugs and hardwood floors were pristine. I ran it in the bedrooms where it wandered where we never venture – under the beds, where armies of dust bunnies gathered and hunkered over the years, regularly sending out patrols in search of my sinuses. Roomba has vanquished them. And I am a junkie. If I wasn't so lazy I'd vacuum every day. But I am lazy and don't. Roomba, on the other hand, is energetic. tireless and smart. My allergies are moderating. Now I need a lawnba, cookba, unpackallthestufffrommovingtothishouseba, robocallsba, junkmailba and enough other bas to eliminate all the annoyances of arduous American middle class life. Our roomba worked great… at first. About 6 months in it started being finicky and eventually moved on to bothersome. By about the 10 month mark we were cleaning sensors, vacuuming it out, and tinkering with it non stop. At month 13 it stopped altogether and we called irobot. We wasted hours on hold, explaining and re-explaining, and even taking videos only to have them deny any help. My wife explained that we hadn't even been using it for a year because I had bought it on Black Friday and she opened it Christmas morning. They had the audacity to tell her I should have bought it closer to Christmas. They "offered" to have someone try to fix it for $130 which I have to assume was the full freight. I bought this vacuum 2 years ago. My house is a busy place where dirt is tracked in daily. This machine is used daily and has greatly increased the cleanliness of our house. Naturally it makes me very happy to have a helper that does the sweeping and vacuuming daily for me! The machine did stop charging for a while until I googled the problem. All Roomba's need the charging sensors underneath the machine cleaned and the dirt sensor under the brushes cleaned every 3 months. After cleaning the sensors (as well as vacuuming the filter) the Roomba was ready to roll. Great product that I highly recommend.esend

The robot works really well and is easy to use. The mop is good if you want a light clean since no soap can be used. I like that the dust bin is large and holds a good amount of dust and dirt before having to dispense. I am still learning to use the Mi Home app properly so it can map my home but overall I am happy with my purchase.V
Vacuum works great but it gets stuck under the fridge and dishwasher which I dont like. It senses the stairs so that was good. Didnt mop to good and it got stuck even more mopping than it does vacuuming. The app works ok but needs improvement with features and commands should have both for vacuum and mopping.queenvq
We were so excited about this being our first robot vacuum.. unfortunately it was a horrible experience. First it gets stock on everything, dishwasher , couch, chair. Secondly, it has no radar it runs into everything and then adjusts but doesn’t remember it for future cleans. Thirdly, the mop feature doesn’t work as efficient as it makes it seem. I had high hopes for the roomba I7 and the braava jet by iRobot, but about 7 months into my roomba ownership it is not the hassle free experience it's made out to be. My I7 worked great for about a month and a half, but since then it's been plagued by numerous issues, glitches, and vastly reduced battery life. I've called support 4 times fo report issues, and generally, troubleshooting fixes my issues for a week or so at a time before another issue arises. I'm lucky if I get 45 min average battery life on my I7 now, but when I called support, I was advised that "it's normal"…after only owning it for 7 months. Nevermind that it takes 3 hours to return to a full charge after only running for 45 minutes. The braava is a completely separate issue. Between the tracks and the film on my floors, it doesn't get used much. However, I bought a water softener and filtration system, and the film is a lot less than it used to be, but if you don't have soft water, the film can be rather unsightly. While I was expecting that cleaning my house would to be easier when I bought my roomba and braava, instead I find I spend as much time changing pads, replacing filters, and swapping out brushes; emptying bins or filling tanks; cleaning off sensors and troubleshooting issues; and getting frustrated that my roomba can't actually clean as on demand as it's made out to be. My roomba randomly gets lost and can't find the home base causing me to track it down in the most unlikely of places; gets drunk and randomly falls of the ramp onto the home base; or worse yet just runs out of battery in the middle of a job and stops in the middle of the floor. My advice to someone thinking about buying: don't own a dog, don't have kids, and don't live an active lifestyle. Why you might ask…..because the roomba and braava will not help you save time cleaning up after any of them consistently.Frustrated
I've tried quite a few robot vacuums and I think that roomba's Have the biggest name because they 1st move or advantage but they are not the best vacuum out there Let's start with navigation.. The robot does a decent job of creating a map of your house but even with that map it still runs into things all of the time, and, it does not navigate efficiently from room to room or within a room when cleaning. It will ignore keep out zones sometimes. It will try to force itself underneath things that it cannot fit and then get stuck.. There needs to be some kind of sensor on the nub in the front so that when it starts running into things with that it knows to stop trying because it will force itself under something and get stuck and that novel not let it escape. Vacuuming: Though iRobot boasts About the section power, the robot does not pick up a lot of debris. The period the vacuum turns off and on randomly and it misses a lot of stuff. Especially on carpet it will clump up pet hair and then leave it in clumps all over the carpet instead of sucking it up.. I have to follow behind it with a hand held vacuum and suck up all of the clumps that it leaves. If it runs over an area rug it'll actually leave clumps that weren't there before that it picked up elsewhere in the house. Smart app and other complaints: Comparable vacuums out on the market will allow you to keep track of the robot's location live while it's cleaning via the map. iRobot does not allow that. The roomba will get stuck In random places.. And will just sit there until the battery dies sometimes making it difficult to find. Half of the time the app cannot connect to the robot and the robot has to be restarted. Half the time the robot will not seat itself on its base correctly and will not charge.. If using the Bravo jet mop, To mop after vacuuming Is, a lot of the time it will not start the mop automatically and the mop may not even do a full run before it just decides it's done and quits.
Great product, mapping is the best I have seen, suction is good but I would recommend to vacuum every 3 days as the manufacturer says. The time saving is the most precious asset of this type of machine as you can do something else while the robot does the job for you. Easy to clean and filter are replaceable. However, sometimes it leaves some minor debris (just a few) and the corners are not it best but these are minor things. Customer service it awesome, my robot stopped working properly, sent it to the repair center and got a new one. It important to mention that you should remove small items from the floor like lego bricks and also clothing before activating the robot, otherwise it will get stuck. Again, the best asset of this product is the time saving, at the beginning I was not sure expending so much money but after these years is totally worth it. I decided to go for this brand and specific model and not for a some other brand cheaper to avoid the frustration of a bad job and end up vacuuming the floor with a normal vacuumFerLin

I bought this for a friend that has back issues and vacuuming is difficult. She loves it, but she didn't have high expectations. I tried setting up the app but was unable to resolve wifi connectivity issues. I didn't try that hard, so maybe it could be resolved with a larger investment in time. It is run manually, as needed, and seems to work well as it transitions from hard floors to medium height pile carpeting. It can't always seem to find its base, but she doesn't keep the base right out in the open, as suggested, because it wouldn't look very nice. Small modifications to the house help it avoid problems, like a bumper on a fire place to keep the bot from going too far in and causing damage to trim, also, lowered a threshold between rooms so that the bot could cross over in both directions. It does have fairly impressive off-road capabilities and was making it over a large threshold, but was trapped on the other side. The terrain doesn't need to be really flat. If your willing to work with it and don't expect it to work miracles, it can be a purchase you don't regret. It has been almost a year of ownership. No parts to be replaced yet.
I admit, I am a robot groupie. As such, I've have about 8 vacuum bots over the years including the first Roomba (had no numbers in the name, just Roomba). I also have 7 cats and 2 dogs, so you know the Roombas are working in our house. If you have deep pile carpeting, this is the best bang for the buck of the major brands on the market. At present, I also have the i6 (exactly like the i7), and although it is great on floors and short pile carpeting I have in the kitchen and living room (and I absolutely LOVE the automatic empty feature), it's not great on the deep pile carpets I have in my bedroom. I also have a Eufy 11s and it is good for floors, but not for carpeting. The Shark is basically useless. However, this guy is great! The brushes really clean the carpets well, and when it finishes, the carpets look as though they have been vacuumed with a heavy duty, non-robotic, plug-in vacuum. This is not just my own opinion. I've other folks look and they were quite honestly surprised by how well the 690 vacuumed the carpets. "It works this well on the carpets? I thought robot vacuums were only for floors." I love this robot!
I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC

Significant improvements from the i7, still not sure if we'll keep it past the 60 day trial period. The good: app is easy to use and has great features for dividing and naming rooms. The robot will recharge and then continue cleaning small jobs, whole house, or anything in between. It's smart and learns how much time rooms take and adjusts charging times accordingly. Roomba's dual rubber brushes still do a better job on carpet than the traditional brush rollers everyone else uses. The bad: sometimes the map takes wonky shapes that don't look like your house. Even so, it still seems to clean everywhere and after a few days modifies the map to look more realistic. There are still a couple spots on our map that look funky, but it hasn't taken away from actually cleaning everywhere. The ugly: front caster wheel started squeaking on the third day of use; they're sending us a replacement wheel that will hopefully solve this problem. Customer support and response through email was quite good. On a few occasions the robot tried to dock sideways but corrected itself. One time it docked just crooked enough (photo attached, notice red error light on base) that it wouldn't charge or empty itself; it did send an error message saying it needed our help. Our biggest gripe that might make us return it for a refund is that even with a well defined and established map for several weeks, it still bumps into furniture, walls, etc too hard, so hard that it actually moves lighter pieces of furniture such as plant stands. I have a Roomba for my Birds to pick up stray seeds that fell out, and it often misses some, and on the self empty base- most seeds stay behind inside the Roomba-Canister. I also do not like, that you can not set roomba to do criss cross vacuuming like another Brand I know. Meaning, setting it for an extra thorough clean, where it first goes the room lengthwise and a second round side to side. The only thing that made me decide for the Roomba after trying that other Brand is, the app works really well. You can set different schedules for different days and Roomba works well with Alexa, and notifies you of any issues or completed jobs. The other Brand, with a unstable, constantly crashing app, not working well with Alexa and most of all the very limited scheduling capabilities- had phenomenal mapping and exceptional cleaning capability and no vaccume bag needed (Hepa Filter with removable easy dump cannister on the charging Station. BUT not having a good app, limited scheduling capability would have made it a little less useful and more of a headache in the long run. So I decided for the Roomba. I purchased the J7 after I decided to retire my few years old Roborock S4 to the basement and get some newer technology. If the J7 was my first robot vacuum purchase I would probably be happy. But when compared to my previous one this has too many annoying problems. Let me start with what it does better. First, it really is a good-looking vacuum. Much nicer than the homely S4. Next, the amount of pet hair and dirt it collects is at least 30% better than the S4. So isn't that what a vacuum is supposed to do? Vacuum? Why 3 stars? Because it only finishes a cleaning job 50% of the time. Reviewing the last 30 cleaning jobs on the app, only 14 finished. There are way too many issues that require my intervention to get a finished job. It sucks up objects it is supposed to avoid, brushes get stuck with pet hair, doesn't dock properly so not charged for next job, strands itself because it didn't recognize no-go zone, etc. It is rare I need to help along the S4 except to empty the much larger dust bin or clean the washable filter (which the Roomba does not have). I wouldn't say I totally regret this purchase but given the opportunity to do it again I would go with another Roborock. BTW, as I write this review the Roomba has not cleaned in 6 days while I wasn't home. Battery was dead sitting on the charging dock.BretLee

I got this on sale from Target after watching its price for a while. This seems to be the best combination of (relative) affordability and performance on the market from the professional review sites I looked at beforehand. Taking it home and running it, I found that it actually performs much better than my old upright vacuum with zero hassle. I have it vacuuming areas of tile, utility carpet, and medium carpet in my 1200 sqft apartment. It does an excellent job with all of these surfaces. If I have it vacuum the whole place, it does need to charge about mid-way and maybe empty a couple times in the middle, which I think is reasonable considering that we have a dog and it is picking up a bunch of hair each time. Regarding specific gripes in other reviews: yes, the emptying sound is loud (but not jet engine, more like the volume of a regular vacuum) but only lasts a few seconds. I find that it picks up dog hair pretty well. It also handles thresholds/rug edges fine at about 1cm. It bumps into things when learning, of course, but not with much force contrary to some reviews. As for the learning, it didn't take much for it to master my oddly-shaped layout between the rooms and the furniture in them. I definitely would spring for the base instead of just getting the bot. That way you can truly start it and forget about it instead of having to manually empty a few times as it putters around. I bit the bullet and upgraded from a dumb robot vacuum (ecovacs N7) to this smart robot vacuum because it was on sale for $200 off MSRP. Three months later and I've been completely satisfied with the upgrade. Thanks to the mapping feature on the J7 I was able to replace 2 existing vacuums and know that my entire upstairs got cleaned. The old vacuum would get stuck in a room because it couldn't find the door and keep cleaning the same area till it ran out of power. The self emptying dust bin is a great time saver and means less maintenance each week. The sensors and programming are much better at keeping the J7 from getting stuck and having to be rescued. I'm not thrilled about sharing my floorplan and cleaning schedules with iRobot, or any company. The roombas are very expensive. Even more expensive if you have multiple floors and need daily cleaning in all areas and have to get multiple vacuums. It's brushes will leave a few little twists of felted up hair behind if you have pets, long hair, or both so it's not a pristine clean unless you have it do a deep clean every time. However, I am more than willing to deal with those negatives for all the benefits that this robot vacuum offers over my old robot vacuums. If you want to see if a robot vacuum is for you I'd suggest getting a cheap one to try with for a year or two. No robot vacuum is perfect or capable of competing with a traditional vacuum. If you can accept the compromises though and find them beneficial then I would highly recommend getting this model when it's on sale. It's a good little machine, but the suction isn't stellar. Even the one of the Self-Empty base isn't very good. I have a Roomba for my Birds to pick up stray seeds that fell out, and it often misses some, and on the self empty base- most seeds stay behind inside the Roomba-Canister. I also do not like, that you can not set roomba to do criss cross vacuuming like another Brand I know. Meaning, setting it for an extra thorough clean, where it first goes the room lengthwise and a second round side to side. The only thing that made me decide for the Roomba after trying that other Brand is, the app works really well. You can set different schedules for different days and Roomba works well with Alexa, and notifies you of any issues or completed jobs. The other Brand, with a unstable, constantly crashing app, not working well with Alexa and most of all the very limited scheduling capabilities- had phenomenal mapping and exceptional cleaning capability and no vaccume bag needed (Hepa Filter with removable easy dump cannister on the charging Station. BUT not having a good app, limited scheduling capability would have made it a little less useful and more of a headache in the long run. So I decided for the Roomba. It does take amusing pictures and I still love and enjoy my little Roomba. Maybe my CON's will be PRO's down the Road when those things are improved and I will certainly opt for that newer Generation. Til then my little guy will be good enough, just not perfect yet- overall still a good little Robot to have.

While the vaccine has its weaknesses it cleans better than we did before we purchased it. We have 5 carpets with tassels or fringes. The Rumba loves to get caught on these and runs till the battery runs out. So we move the smaller carpets and the 16 X 20 silk carpet is adjusted so the Rumba can not clean it. We simply turn the edges over so the machine can not climb on it. Then we vaccine that rug the old fashioned way. The filter works so well it is hard to believe. We ran the Rumba all over the house and left for a week long trip. When we got home we ran the Rumba again and it picked up the dust. The filter was clean except for a bunch of dust. The product was cranky when trying to hook it up to the app. Since I have to move it between 3 levels of the house I just don't bother with the app. Fortunately I am still able to get up and walk to the device and push a button. I do not need to depend on Google or Alexa. The bad reviews I read were from a bunch of people with unrealistic expectations. As an aside the vaccine does not actually learn your house because when you use it again it has to learn it again. But it does remember where it left off if it needs to go home to recharge and then it starts where it left off.lukeman5433
These robots are useless after a year. The first year I had it, it worked really well. I maintained it, cleaned it, and charged it regularly. Before the first year was up, I filed the warranty because it stopped picking up anything. Now, a year later, its repeating the same thing but iRobot was very comfortable telling me to spend a minimum of $110 to repair the useless hunk of metal and plastic. Or the other option was to spend $200 to buy the lower end models. For something that initially cost me $350, this should last me as long as a Dyson but its a complete waste of money. I also got this because I have severe allergies so if I dont regularly vacuum daily, I get allergy attacks. I thought this would address but instead, I just ended up wasting my time. Im very disappointed that as a responsible user who put trust in something as expensive as this product, my whole investment went down the drain in less than 2 years. This purchase was to replace an original 960 bought new from iRobot when it was a flagship model. I am reviewing the second, replacement for the refurbished 960 I purchased from the eBay store. The first one was so bad and had so many faults and problems including not being able to dock that I requested a refund the next day. I gave it a second chance and ordered another one while waiting for the return and refund. It is maybe only 40% defective, but it will function and dock. It will not stop cleaning and return to the base as programmed for bin emptying until the extractor discharge shoot is full and dumps on the floor requiring hand clean out each time. It is incapable of driving over any throw rug or carpet runner without getting it pulled into the extractor rollers and hanging it up, it lacks the intelligence to free it's self from these obstacles like the original did.tgblair

I'm very happy with the EufyHome G30 Edge. This is our 2nd robot vacuum, the first being a Shark Ion. Compared to the Shark, this robovac is so much quieter. The Shark Ion was very loud, to the point where it gets annoying having it run for 90 minutes. The Eufy G30 is not at all like this, and can be running while watching TV, etc. When it goes under the bed/sofa, sometimes I can't even hear it and wonder if it's still running… it is. The slim profile is a welcome feature compared to the Shark Ion. It easily fits under the bed, the sofa, chairs, etc. As long as there is about 2 inches of clearance, it should find its way. It also has Smart Navigation 2.0, which allows it to map your floor plan and work its way in horizontal rows until it has fully mapped the entire floor plan, compared to the Shark Ion or other robovacs that use random navigation with bumper sensors. The Eufy G30 has bumper sensors, and if it bumps into an object it will turn, but only to the point where it can find its way back onto its horizontal path. It also has infrared sensors, and will generally avoid bumping into things at all. Rather, it will slow down as it approaches something, and work its way right to the edge of the object, and then turn. The bumper sensors are a 2nd line of defense in the case that the infrared sensors don't work (e.g. on dark items, which absorb infrared). We have white baseboards, which is does not bump into, but on a few dark-colored cabinets, it will bump into those before turning around. As for the room mapping, it does not "remember" the map from day to day. Each time it is a new map. It will remember the map until it has completed the map. In other words, if it runs out of battery before completing the map, it will return to home, recharge, and then restart itself, picking up where it left off (generally). I say generally, because SOMETIMES the map can get "off". It doesn't navigate via GPS or WiFi or anything like that. It seems to retain the map in its head and base its location on wheel movement. So if it gets stuck on something, the wheels may continue to spin even though it's not going anywhere, and then suddenly it thinks it's 3 feet from where it really is. This isn't common, but it can happen. You can see this using the map feature in the app (which is really cool). You'll see it struggle trying to get to where it thinks should be an open space, when really it might be next to a wall and it keeps turning and bumping, turning and bumping, trying to find a way around. Eventually it does, but the map at that point is all messed up. It's better to just pause it, pick it up, put it close to where it "thinks" it really is (putting it where the white dot is on the map) and then restarting it. Its alerts are generally all spoken out loud in English (or in your preferred language, if available) which is nice, compared to the Shark Ion, which just beeped and had flashing icons, so you constantly had to refer back to the manual to understand what they meant. The Eufy G30 says "resuming cleaning" or "I'm stuck" or whatever, and you can just go and do the needful. The app also mirrors the status at any given moment, and you can control it with the app, monitor the map (which is helpful to understand the most efficient cleaning pattern), set up schedules, etc. You can also control it with Alexa, which was very easy to set up. So one week in, I am amazed by the amount of stuff that it picks up, even after running it every day. Makes you wonder where all the dust comes from. A really nice product from Anker's Eufy brand. I have a number of Anker's audio products, power packs, and cables, and I've always been happy with the value, quality and support. So far, the Eufy G30 Edge seems to fit right in.
I've wanted a robo vac for several years now, so I researched them and decided on this eufy G30 Edge, based on the reviews and price. Shipping was fast and I quickly put it to work. Set up was easy and I turned "her" loose. I was absolutely shocked at how much dirt this little vacuum picks up! (especially since I have a very good upright vacuum that I use frequently). This little vacuum has a spinning brush on the edge that help gets the dust and dirt that collects along the baseboards. I have low-pile carpet and laminate flooring, plus throw rugs and this little vac navigates it all with ease. It has a low profile and fits under most dressers, consoles, beds with ease. It's only gotten stuck once because it got caught on some heavy duty speaker cable. The schedule program function works well and the vacuum starts as scheduled when I use it. I clean the dirt tray every time I run it and brush out the hepa filter. It's easy to remove and clean. It has gotten turned around a couple of times when returning to it's recharging station, but I have an odd layout to my house, so I'm not too concerned about it; it gets home almost every time. It has a very long run time before it has to recharge. I am so glad I bought this and wish I had done it sooner!
First the pros: We have roughly 1600sq ft downstairs of which this vacuum was able to identify 1200sq ft and clean it accurately before the battery ran out. The mapping feature is GREAT and I was very impressed with how well the G30 navigated all of our furniture and what I thought were impassible spaces. I thought for sure the vacuum wouldn't navigate between kitchen chairs and under the very tight spaces of our couches and ottoman, but it handled it with ease. When the vacuum did get pinched, it found its way out and I didn't have to intervene. I am very impressed how far these have come since the first days of the iRobot models. The vacuum sneaks into areas and grabs dust bunnies, hair and particles that your average upright vacuum will miss. It's no joke. It's almost works too well, to the point the bin will fill up quickly if you're not careful. I note this below under the cons. For hardwoods, this vacuum works very efficient and effectively. There are some carpet runners and mats that got caught up in the rotors but it still managed to get free and recover that section of flooring. I rarely noticed the vacuum covering the same section of flooring twice, so trust in the vacuum even if you believe it hasn't covered a section of house, that it WILL return to map the walls. The updated navigation algorithms are excellent. The Cons: We have a couple of pets and they shed constantly. This was our main motivation for getting a robovac. Before the first run through our house, we did a cursory sweep of the big areas of our house. Even with the larger dust bin, I had to empty the container after ~600sq ft and it was full. I wish this model would notify you when the bin was full via an optical sensor or something. The good news is the bin what chucked full of hair and loose debris that I missed, but know that the bin will fill up quickly within several hundred sq ft. The best thing is to keep the vacuum on a regular schedule to minimize how full the bin will get between cleanings, especially if you have pets. Although the battery will cover roughly 1200 sq ft without stopping, the battery takes several hours between charges. I think that's normal, but it took me off guard and it prevents you from running the vacuum again immediately following a full cleaning. Rugs, cords and mats will get caught up in the wheels if they're not heavy or are not taped down. Bath rugs, toilet skirts, kitchen mats and other small rugs will fold up under the vacuum. I'd recommend getting some double-sided rug tape from Home Depot/Lowes before running the vacuum. Either that, or identify which rugs were re-located by the vacuum after the first run and act accordingly. You won't need to intervene when it folds up a rug, but you will need to reset the rug once the Eufy completes its run. This might not be a con, but it completed our 1200sq ft downstairs in roughly 2.5 hours before the battery ran out and it still had a couple of areas left to complete, so prepare accordingly. After the battery recharges, (roughly 3.5 hours later) it resumes where it left on the original map to complete the house. The vacuum is VERY thorough, but this takes time to complete. Overall, this is a great little vacuum and the included boundary strips are handy. We have an elevated bed with soft textiles stored underneath, so the included footage was just enough to outline our king sized bed. We didn't want to risk the vacuum tearing up or getting stuck on the items under the bed. I debated getting the regular G30 but I'd recommend the Edge simply for the magnetic strips. They are handy and you'll never know when you need them or identify an area off-limits for the vacuum.

This is my first robovac and so far I am very pleased! Set up took some time but very simple. The eufy was entertaining to watch as it has a mind of its own and I couldn’t stop watching it clean!!! It did take a lot of time cleaning (maybe my house is just dirty) but as you can see in the picture it got all that dirt and cat hair up!!! I’m going to try the mopping function today. Don’t forget to use the little tools it comes with as they are very helpful to remove the hair from the brush! make sure you empty the dust pan after every use because it definitely fills up. Another feature I like is that I was able to share the device on the app with my boyfriend so he can also use it when he’s home or not home. Very easy to use app with scheduling and control of suction power – I did higher suction for carpet areas. Only con is when the battery got low, eufy couldn’t find its home base independently their first time so I helped lol!! Easy to clean after use too! I’d definitely recommend this product!
This little Eufy is a powerhouse on pet hair. My long haired dogs never stop dropping hair and we all know cats are the absolute worst. It does such a good job getting them up. I empty it once or twice during a cleaning but that's a small, small thing compared to vacuuming every day with my heavy Dyson. App is great, emptying is simple, the Anker brand is making a good name for itself. I'm going for whole house upright vacuuming 1-2 times a week, and this guy (whom I've affectionately named Tubby) will run daily. I love it. I think you will too.

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to try several robot vacuums, but nothing has come close to the ECOVACS Robotics DEEBOT X1 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop. This unit offers so many features and outperforms all previous units and it also includes a mop feature! What’s in the box: – DEEBOT X1 OMNI vacuum and mop robot – OMNI auto-emptying and auto-cleaning station – Extra dust bag – Extra pair of mopping pads – Cleaning brush – User manual When it arrived the size of the box was a little surprising, I was nervous about how big this robot might be. Once unboxed, it is actually a very manageable size for our home. We have a perfect spot in our family room for the base unit which provides access to all the hardwood and tile flooring on the main level. Setup: There are extensive instructions included (user manual) that are easy to follow and made the initial setup a breeze. Ecovacs has done an amazing job of simplifying the setup process for the non-technical user. Both the Deebot (vacuum) and the Omni station (base – instructions attached) require setup. The base needs to be plugged in and the clean water tank filled. The DEEBOT should be fully charged before initial use. The side brushes and mop pads can be installed at this point or left off for initial mapping of the required spaces. Once the area is mapped a 2D or 3D map is available, rooms can be identified, and zones can be setup and customized as desired. There are numerous settings available based on user preferences. I've owned several robot vacuums and I can say nothing comes close to this Ecovacs robot. I've used it for a few days now and am completely blown away with how well this robot works and how dead simple Ecovacs made the whole process. Out of the box this thing is huge. I've had one other self emptying robot vac and the base station for the X1 dwarfs my old base station. This is largely due to the fact that this base station has two massive water tanks to fill and empty the robots on board water tank used to mop hard surfaces. The robot itself is sleek and feel sturdy and very high quality. Packed with every feature imaginable, this robot really is the most advanced smart home device I've ever used. Setting the Robot up was so simple. I followed the instructions in the app, plugged in the base station, connected to wifi and used Ecovacs built in voice assistant "He Yikko" to tell the vacuum to get started. It then made it's way around my house quickly mapping out the entire house room by room. Gone are the days where you have to wait through several full vacuum cycles to get a map of your house. Within 15 minutes the app was updated with an almost perfect map of my house, it even recognized the toilet in the bathroom. After getting the map of the house, I popped on the mop brushes and sent the vac on its way cleaning my house. There were a few things I was really surprised with. The first being how quickly it made its way around my house. It was considerably faster than my old robot and still cleaned just as well if not better. The second was the X1's ability to identify changes in the floor. When you have the mop brushes on the X1 easily identifies transitions to rugs or carpets and knows not to go there and try to mop your carpet. I was also shocked at just how well it cleaned after its first full run. The first run the X1 wandered around finding every wall and moving in what fell like no logical way. But at the end it did clean the house. But every time after that this thing moved like a well oiled machine, starting at the back of the house and moving room by room making straight lines through the whole floor. I will say my floors have not looked this good in a long time. I decided to really test out the X1 by starting it without cleaning up the shoes and toys my kids left all over the house and not opening all the doors all the way. I was again shocked to watch the X1 roam through the house, dodging socks and dolls and finding its way through a half opened door to go about its business. It really only tripped up once by sucking up a white barbie dress, which to be honest is understandable. I've learned the X1's base water tank will last about 4 cycles of mopping by about 1000 sq ft of hardwood, which seems very nice. Emptying the dirty water is quick and simple and man was it full of dirty water. I have no doubt this think is cleaning after looking at the water. It really is a start and forget kind of robot that will do everything you need it to and exceed all your expectations. But the fun doesn't stop at mopping and vacuuming. The X1 has a few other little features that just add to the fun. The first being the build in voice assistant. I wasn't expecting very much, since usually proprietary voice assistants don't work as well as Google or Alexa, but this this is pretty cool. It's faster to respond than any assistant I've used and works great for getting the X1 started and has fun little features like yelling at your X1 to come clean by your feet. There is also a built in camera and speaker on the front of the X1 that lets you use the X1 like a sentry if you want it to roam your house to keep an eye on things while you are away. It's an interesting feature and a neat little addition. I can't say I've gotten a ton of use out of it, but how cool is that my vacuum has a camera. Really the only thing I had any problems with was I wanted to put cleaning solution in the water used to mop, but Ecovacs recommends you only use it's cleaning solution. Only problem is, I can't find anywhere that the cleaning solution is sold. It's not even available on Ecovacs website, which is really strange. Overall, this thing has it all. I don't think you'll find a more advanced robot vacuum, which makes sense given this things price tag. If you have the space for the massive base station, I will say you won't be disapointed.Clshipp91
SETUP/MAPPING It comes with the Deebot X1 Omni vacuum/mop robot with a plethora of sensors, two side brushes, a “floating” main brush, three wheels, and mop system attachment with pads. The top is magnetic which grants you access to the on/off switch and a cute little bagless bin that can hold 0.1 gallons with a reusable washable filter that empties automatically when the vacuum goes back to the station or manually if you want to go back to that peasant lifestyle. The Omni auto-emptying and auto-cleaning Station is large compared to other bases. As it houses a clean water tub, dirty water tub, a cleaning brush, an extra pair of mop pads, and a 3L disposable dust bag. The power cord is removeable and has a place to wrap it on the back for cable management. Both the vacuum and the base feel well built, solid, and high quality. Each of the tubs has thick plastic with rubber textured handles. Everything opens and closes easily. Along with sliding in and out of place smoothly. You can tell a TON of engineering went into every single aspect of this device. Replacement parts aren’t too expensive either which is good. They report an overall run time of 140 minutes. Which I found to be accurate on stock settings. But if you increase the suction power it is a lot less. If you run out of battery mid clean it will return to the dock, charge a bit, and then resume cleaning. They report it takes 6.5 hours to charge fully. Which is a long time, but they likely chose that to maximize the life of the battery. They say it has a max decibel range of 68 dB. I found on stock settings it was close to 50 – 60 dB and would imagine going to maximum suction would be between 60 – 68 dB. On the lid of the base, it gives you instructions on how to get started. Which pretty much says unbox everything and scan the QR which takes you to the Ecovacs HomeVac App which then walks you thought the rest of the process. Which is pairing your robot, connecting it to the internet, and doing the initial mapping that you can see in real time. They report that it uses True Mapping 2.0 which scans the home environment, quickly generates a map, plans the most efficient cleaning paths, and they guarantee less missed and repeated spots. Which I found to be accurate. Once the initial mapping was done, I fine-tuned it by adjusting my house walls, combining some rooms, labeled them, and made a few software barriers. Such as my stairs. It treats that barrier as a wall, and I haven’t had an issue with it. Overall setup time was about 30 – 40 minutes. VOICE CONTROLS: The Voice Control supports Alexa and Google Assistant. But also has a unique one called Yiko. Which you can access by saying “Ok, Yiko” and then a plethora of commands such as “begin cleaning”, “stop”, “return to dock”, “what are you doing”, “clean x”, “mop x”, “clean under table”, etc. You can say “I’m here” and through sound localization tech it will seek you out and clean around you. All of which worked well just like any modern age smart assistant. However, the robotic voice can be improved as it doesn’t sound very good. You can increase/decrease the volume through commands or via the app. And it will call out when it is doing something which I LOVE. Such as starting a clean, returning to the base, emptying the bag, cleaning the mop pads, etc. Which I really like. As that way you aren’t left wondering. For those of you concerned about privacy voice commands are saved on a server which you can go in and delete in the app. You can also turn it off if you’d like. OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE: It uses something called AIVI 3D which utilizes AI computing power, astrophotography-grade RGB camera, LiDAR, dToF sensor, autopilot technology, and human recognition to identify and detect obstacles while scanning the home and creating paths to clean even in the dark. They do report that it works better in well-lit environments. Which I found to be true but did just fine in the dark. With all this tech it does a spectacular job at avoiding objects. On the extremely rare occurrence it did suck something up it shouldn’t have it would automatically turn off the brush, lift itself up, and try to vroom off. This worked every time without intervention. There are two protective bumpers on the front, and I found it rarely bumped into anything to activate them. Even when it did it was very mild making me unconcerned about damage to the vacuum or the thing it was being rude to. It never ran into me or my dog. When it detects an object (shoes, dog toys, clothes, cords, socks, etc.) it will clean around them with a minimal barrier (maybe an inch/inch and a half) and gets even closer around tables, chairs, or walls (maybe an inch or less). It never got stuck anywhere. During the initial mapping it shimmed itself into a small crevice under a bed that was barely big enough for it to fit, went exploring, and came out the other side full of dust with a story of adventure. I bought this in 2018. It has worked less than half the time since then. I am constantly trouble shooting issues. Currently have an error 11 that I cannot seem to resolve and of course it now recommends purchasing another battery. The replacement parts have already cost a fortune to keep the thing running as little as it does and the new battery they want me to purchase is $100. Not really Inclined to spend more money trying to keep this thing running. The small amount of time it actually worked it did an ok job. So, as of this date I've tried: AnotherBrandE30; Roomba e6; Roomba 985; and Roomba i7. This Roomba e6 is the surprising winner! Frankly, Lil Bubba bounces around in an annoyingly random manner — but man he sucks up the dirt! Better than the 985, and the i7 so far as I can see. Here's the challenge: average sized home, three *curses* carpeted bedrooms. Rest of home is tile or hardwood. A long history of being owned by animals (four-legged, domesticated type). Essentially, a giant petri dish of year-round allergens. Roomba e6: Simple, hardest-working, effective. Yes, he lacks a rational mapping program. So, yes, he will bounce around seemingly randomly, to clean the space. I will say in his defense that when he finds a wall or senses an edge, he will run along it, and follow for example, a tight turn around furniture legs, etc. So there is some "logic" of a kind. But this guy is sturdy which is why I love him so. He has *never* registered "dirty sensors,* he keeps ploughing through even when his little wheels are all wrapped up in pet hair (do clean them regularly!), and never gets lost or stuck anywhere. He just works hard, returns home and docks himself. No fanfare — I LOVE MY LIL BUBBA! He cleans like a mother-on-a-mission! The first time I ran him through the master it took only ten minutes for his bin to fill (head bowed in shame). There was pet hair in there that must have been left by two pet-generations ago! He just kept at it. Keep in mind, this carpet had been "cleaned" by conventional vacuums prior to buying these irobots! Ten runs later, he had cleaned down to the underlay for the full hour! But here's the thing — because he lacks a mapping program, he works best if contained in a specific space. So, set up the sensors to keep him confined to one room at a time and he'll be fine. Probably not as effective to give him full run of the house. Did I mention I LOVE him? Lil Bubba's suck-power seems way greater (at "5x!") than the i7 (at "10x!") power.OwnedByCritters
I own a Roomba 690 and decided to give the e5 5150 a shot. Overall, thoughts are "meh". If you already have a Roomba, keep it – this seems like a re-branded 890. If it is more, they need to market it better focusing on what's "better." The Weak Points: Battery – The product description for the e5 5150 is slightly misleading. First sentence says "The auto-recharging…" does NOT mean it knows "battery is low, go back and charge, then finish the job". What it does mean is if the battery doesn't die out during the regular clean job, it'll go to the charger when it's done. So far out of 7 cleans, 3 has resulted in it going back to the charger. My 600 series lasted just as long (if not longer), so – battery is weak/not improved since my 600 series. "Wi-Fi® Connected" and "App" features are lame – you get to press a green button from your phone to start a job. That's it. No house map, no detailed job completion information, nothing. Going back to the above point about the battery dying before it goes to recharge – a neat thing is you can see on your phone, while you're at work, that the Roomba died in the middle of cleaning, isn't recharging, and you can't do anything about it remotely. The "history details" (are in quotes because they) aren't details. You get 5 data points: Date, duration of the clean, time started, status, and dirt detect count. You can't tap on any of those data points for more details, can't see a map of the house to see where it cleaned, etc. Strengths: The difference from the 600 series to this series is the better brush (no more bristles, no hair gets tangled, etc.), better filter (MUCH better, easy to clean), and lower noise (WAY quieter than the 600 series, quieter than a regular vacuum). Bottom line: If you don't own a Roomba, this is a good entry model & decent price. If you own a Roomba, keep it or save for the top of the line one that has the REAL auto-recharge feature and wifi house map feature.

I bought this for a friend that has back issues and vacuuming is difficult. She loves it, but she didn't have high expectations. I tried setting up the app but was unable to resolve wifi connectivity issues. I didn't try that hard, so maybe it could be resolved with a larger investment in time. It is run manually, as needed, and seems to work well as it transitions from hard floors to medium height pile carpeting. It can't always seem to find its base, but she doesn't keep the base right out in the open, as suggested, because it wouldn't look very nice. Small modifications to the house help it avoid problems, like a bumper on a fire place to keep the bot from going too far in and causing damage to trim, also, lowered a threshold between rooms so that the bot could cross over in both directions. It does have fairly impressive off-road capabilities and was making it over a large threshold, but was trapped on the other side. The terrain doesn't need to be really flat. If your willing to work with it and don't expect it to work miracles, it can be a purchase you don't regret. It has been almost a year of ownership. No parts to be replaced yet.
I admit, I am a robot groupie. As such, I've have about 8 vacuum bots over the years including the first Roomba (had no numbers in the name, just Roomba). I also have 7 cats and 2 dogs, so you know the Roombas are working in our house. If you have deep pile carpeting, this is the best bang for the buck of the major brands on the market. At present, I also have the i6 (exactly like the i7), and although it is great on floors and short pile carpeting I have in the kitchen and living room (and I absolutely LOVE the automatic empty feature), it's not great on the deep pile carpets I have in my bedroom. I also have a Eufy 11s and it is good for floors, but not for carpeting. The Shark is basically useless. However, this guy is great! The brushes really clean the carpets well, and when it finishes, the carpets look as though they have been vacuumed with a heavy duty, non-robotic, plug-in vacuum. This is not just my own opinion. I've other folks look and they were quite honestly surprised by how well the 690 vacuumed the carpets. "It works this well on the carpets? I thought robot vacuums were only for floors." I love this robot!
I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC

The robot works really well and is easy to use. The mop is good if you want a light clean since no soap can be used. I like that the dust bin is large and holds a good amount of dust and dirt before having to dispense. I am still learning to use the Mi Home app properly so it can map my home but overall I am happy with my purchase.V
Vacuum works great but it gets stuck under the fridge and dishwasher which I dont like. It senses the stairs so that was good. Didnt mop to good and it got stuck even more mopping than it does vacuuming. The app works ok but needs improvement with features and commands should have both for vacuum and mopping.queenvq
We were so excited about this being our first robot vacuum.. unfortunately it was a horrible experience. First it gets stock on everything, dishwasher , couch, chair. Secondly, it has no radar it runs into everything and then adjusts but doesn’t remember it for future cleans. Thirdly, the mop feature doesn’t work as efficient as it makes it seem. Then after we settled with all those problems it started shorting out just 20 days after purchase. Thankfully we can still return and get another brand. Not a quality product.Connor
