Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair Hardwood (2025 Update)

I purchased the J7 after I decided to retire my few years old Roborock S4 to the basement and get some newer technology. If the J7 was my first robot vacuum purchase I would probably be happy. But when compared to my previous one this has too many annoying problems. Let me start with what it does better. First, it really is a good-looking vacuum. Much nicer than the homely S4. Next, the amount of pet hair and dirt it collects is at least 30% better than the S4. So isn't that what a vacuum is supposed to do? Vacuum? Why 3 stars? Because it only finishes a cleaning job 50% of the time. Reviewing the last 30 cleaning jobs on the app, only 14 finished. There are way too many issues that require my intervention to get a finished job. It sucks up objects it is supposed to avoid, brushes get stuck with pet hair, doesn't dock properly so not charged for next job, strands itself because it didn't recognize no-go zone, etc. It is rare I need to help along the S4 except to empty the much larger dust bin or clean the washable filter (which the Roomba does not have). I wouldn't say I totally regret this purchase but given the opportunity to do it again I would go with another Roborock. BTW, as I write this review the Roomba has not cleaned in 6 days while I wasn't home. Battery was dead sitting on the charging dock.BretLee

I got this on sale from Target after watching its price for a while. This seems to be the best combination of (relative) affordability and performance on the market from the professional review sites I looked at beforehand. Taking it home and running it, I found that it actually performs much better than my old upright vacuum with zero hassle. I have it vacuuming areas of tile, utility carpet, and medium carpet in my 1200 sqft apartment. It does an excellent job with all of these surfaces. If I have it vacuum the whole place, it does need to charge about mid-way and maybe empty a couple times in the middle, which I think is reasonable considering that we have a dog and it is picking up a bunch of hair each time. Regarding specific gripes in other reviews: yes, the emptying sound is loud (but not jet engine, more like the volume of a regular vacuum) but only lasts a few seconds. I find that it picks up dog hair pretty well. It also handles thresholds/rug edges fine at about 1cm. It bumps into things when learning, of course, but not with much force contrary to some reviews. As for the learning, it didn't take much for it to master my oddly-shaped layout between the rooms and the furniture in them. I definitely would spring for the base instead of just getting the bot. That way you can truly start it and forget about it instead of having to manually empty a few times as it putters around. I bit the bullet and upgraded from a dumb robot vacuum (ecovacs N7) to this smart robot vacuum because it was on sale for $200 off MSRP. Three months later and I've been completely satisfied with the upgrade. Thanks to the mapping feature on the J7 I was able to replace 2 existing vacuums and know that my entire upstairs got cleaned. The old vacuum would get stuck in a room because it couldn't find the door and keep cleaning the same area till it ran out of power. The self emptying dust bin is a great time saver and means less maintenance each week. The sensors and programming are much better at keeping the J7 from getting stuck and having to be rescued. I'm not thrilled about sharing my floorplan and cleaning schedules with iRobot, or any company. The roombas are very expensive. Even more expensive if you have multiple floors and need daily cleaning in all areas and have to get multiple vacuums. It's brushes will leave a few little twists of felted up hair behind if you have pets, long hair, or both so it's not a pristine clean unless you have it do a deep clean every time. However, I am more than willing to deal with those negatives for all the benefits that this robot vacuum offers over my old robot vacuums. If you want to see if a robot vacuum is for you I'd suggest getting a cheap one to try with for a year or two. No robot vacuum is perfect or capable of competing with a traditional vacuum. If you can accept the compromises though and find them beneficial then I would highly recommend getting this model when it's on sale. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to try several robot vacuums, but nothing has come close to the ECOVACS Robotics DEEBOT X1 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop. This unit offers so many features and outperforms all previous units and it also includes a mop feature! What’s in the box: – DEEBOT X1 OMNI vacuum and mop robot – OMNI auto-emptying and auto-cleaning station – Extra dust bag – Extra pair of mopping pads – Cleaning brush – User manual When it arrived the size of the box was a little surprising, I was nervous about how big this robot might be. Once unboxed, it is actually a very manageable size for our home. We have a perfect spot in our family room for the base unit which provides access to all the hardwood and tile flooring on the main level. Setup: There are extensive instructions included (user manual) that are easy to follow and made the initial setup a breeze. Ecovacs has done an amazing job of simplifying the setup process for the non-technical user. Both the Deebot (vacuum) and the Omni station (base – instructions attached) require setup. The base needs to be plugged in and the clean water tank filled. The DEEBOT should be fully charged before initial use. The side brushes and mop pads can be installed at this point or left off for initial mapping of the required spaces. Once the area is mapped a 2D or 3D map is available, rooms can be identified, and zones can be setup and customized as desired. There are numerous settings available based on user preferences. I've owned several robot vacuums and I can say nothing comes close to this Ecovacs robot. I've used it for a few days now and am completely blown away with how well this robot works and how dead simple Ecovacs made the whole process. Out of the box this thing is huge. I've had one other self emptying robot vac and the base station for the X1 dwarfs my old base station. This is largely due to the fact that this base station has two massive water tanks to fill and empty the robots on board water tank used to mop hard surfaces. The robot itself is sleek and feel sturdy and very high quality. Packed with every feature imaginable, this robot really is the most advanced smart home device I've ever used. Setting the Robot up was so simple. I followed the instructions in the app, plugged in the base station, connected to wifi and used Ecovacs built in voice assistant "He Yikko" to tell the vacuum to get started. It then made it's way around my house quickly mapping out the entire house room by room. Gone are the days where you have to wait through several full vacuum cycles to get a map of your house. Within 15 minutes the app was updated with an almost perfect map of my house, it even recognized the toilet in the bathroom. After getting the map of the house, I popped on the mop brushes and sent the vac on its way cleaning my house. There were a few things I was really surprised with. The first being how quickly it made its way around my house. It was considerably faster than my old robot and still cleaned just as well if not better. The second was the X1's ability to identify changes in the floor. When you have the mop brushes on the X1 easily identifies transitions to rugs or carpets and knows not to go there and try to mop your carpet. I was also shocked at just how well it cleaned after its first full run. The first run the X1 wandered around finding every wall and moving in what fell like no logical way. But at the end it did clean the house. But every time after that this thing moved like a well oiled machine, starting at the back of the house and moving room by room making straight lines through the whole floor. I will say my floors have not looked this good in a long time. I decided to really test out the X1 by starting it without cleaning up the shoes and toys my kids left all over the house and not opening all the doors all the way. I was again shocked to watch the X1 roam through the house, dodging socks and dolls and finding its way through a half opened door to go about its business. It really only tripped up once by sucking up a white barbie dress, which to be honest is understandable. I've learned the X1's base water tank will last about 4 cycles of mopping by about 1000 sq ft of hardwood, which seems very nice. Emptying the dirty water is quick and simple and man was it full of dirty water. I have no doubt this think is cleaning after looking at the water. It really is a start and forget kind of robot that will do everything you need it to and exceed all your expectations. But the fun doesn't stop at mopping and vacuuming. The X1 has a few other little features that just add to the fun. The first being the build in voice assistant. I wasn't expecting very much, since usually proprietary voice assistants don't work as well as Google or Alexa, but this this is pretty cool. It's faster to respond than any assistant I've used and works great for getting the X1 started and has fun little features like yelling at your X1 to come clean by your feet. There is also a built in camera and speaker on the front of the X1 that lets you use the X1 like a sentry if you want it to roam your house to keep an eye on things while you are away. It's an interesting feature and a neat little addition. I can't say I've gotten a ton of use out of it, but how cool is that my vacuum has a camera. Really the only thing I had any problems with was I wanted to put cleaning solution in the water used to mop, but Ecovacs recommends you only use it's cleaning solution. Only problem is, I can't find anywhere that the cleaning solution is sold. It's not even available on Ecovacs website, which is really strange. Overall, this thing has it all. I don't think you'll find a more advanced robot vacuum, which makes sense given this things price tag. SETUP/MAPPING It comes with the Deebot X1 Omni vacuum/mop robot with a plethora of sensors, two side brushes, a “floating” main brush, three wheels, and mop system attachment with pads. The top is magnetic which grants you access to the on/off switch and a cute little bagless bin that can hold 0.1 gallons with a reusable washable filter that empties automatically when the vacuum goes back to the station or manually if you want to go back to that peasant lifestyle. The Omni auto-emptying and auto-cleaning Station is large compared to other bases. As it houses a clean water tub, dirty water tub, a cleaning brush, an extra pair of mop pads, and a 3L disposable dust bag. The power cord is removeable and has a place to wrap it on the back for cable management. Both the vacuum and the base feel well built, solid, and high quality. Each of the tubs has thick plastic with rubber textured handles. Everything opens and closes easily. Along with sliding in and out of place smoothly. You can tell a TON of engineering went into every single aspect of this device. Replacement parts aren’t too expensive either which is good. They report an overall run time of 140 minutes. Which I found to be accurate on stock settings. But if you increase the suction power it is a lot less. If you run out of battery mid clean it will return to the dock, charge a bit, and then resume cleaning. They report it takes 6.5 hours to charge fully. Which is a long time, but they likely chose that to maximize the life of the battery. They say it has a max decibel range of 68 dB. I found on stock settings it was close to 50 – 60 dB and would imagine going to maximum suction would be between 60 – 68 dB. On the lid of the base, it gives you instructions on how to get started. Which pretty much says unbox everything and scan the QR which takes you to the Ecovacs HomeVac App which then walks you thought the rest of the process. Which is pairing your robot, connecting it to the internet, and doing the initial mapping that you can see in real time. They report that it uses True Mapping 2.0 which scans the home environment, quickly generates a map, plans the most efficient cleaning paths, and they guarantee less missed and repeated spots. Which I found to be accurate. Once the initial mapping was done, I fine-tuned it by adjusting my house walls, combining some rooms, labeled them, and made a few software barriers. Such as my stairs. It treats that barrier as a wall, and I haven’t had an issue with it. Overall setup time was about 30 – 40 minutes. VOICE CONTROLS: The Voice Control supports Alexa and Google Assistant. But also has a unique one called Yiko. Which you can access by saying “Ok, Yiko” and then a plethora of commands such as “begin cleaning”, “stop”, “return to dock”, “what are you doing”, “clean x”, “mop x”, “clean under table”, etc. You can say “I’m here” and through sound localization tech it will seek you out and clean around you. All of which worked well just like any modern age smart assistant. However, the robotic voice can be improved as it doesn’t sound very good. You can increase/decrease the volume through commands or via the app. And it will call out when it is doing something which I LOVE. Such as starting a clean, returning to the base, emptying the bag, cleaning the mop pads, etc. Which I really like. As that way you aren’t left wondering. For those of you concerned about privacy voice commands are saved on a server which you can go in and delete in the app. You can also turn it off if you’d like. OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE: It uses something called AIVI 3D which utilizes AI computing power, astrophotography-grade RGB camera, LiDAR, dToF sensor, autopilot technology, and human recognition to identify and detect obstacles while scanning the home and creating paths to clean even in the dark. They do report that it works better in well-lit environments. Which I found to be true but did just fine in the dark. With all this tech it does a spectacular job at avoiding objects. On the extremely rare occurrence it did suck something up it shouldn’t have it would automatically turn off the brush, lift itself up, and try to vroom off. This worked every time without intervention. There are two protective bumpers on the front, and I found it rarely bumped into anything to activate them. Even when it did it was very mild making me unconcerned about damage to the vacuum or the thing it was being rude to. It never ran into me or my dog. When it detects an object (shoes, dog toys, clothes, cords, socks, etc.) it will clean around them with a minimal barrier (maybe an inch/inch and a half) and gets even closer around tables, chairs, or walls (maybe an inch or less). It never got stuck anywhere. During the initial mapping it shimmed itself into a small crevice under a bed that was barely big enough for it to fit, went exploring, and came out the other side full of dust with a story of adventure. I've had a few robot vacuums over the past few years. I've tried the big names like Neato D-Vacs / Roombas ($400-$700 range) and I found that while they had great suction power and capacity, their navigation abilities made them useless. All the cleaning power in the world means nothing if your robot vacuum never makes it back to it's base to charge and you're stuck hunting for it to carry it home everyday. I got this Eufy G30 Verge on a special buy price of $169 down from the usual $350, and it absolutely blows all of the other robot vacuums I've tried out of the water. It's very deceiving when you first fire it up since it's extremely thin and makes very little noise. I actually tried feeding it a couple dust bunnies to make sure it was on because it was so quiet. Despite this, 30mins into letting it map my house, I had to empty the dust bin because it was full….. with dust and hair (as seen in the pic)…. that was still on my floor without me being able to see it after manually vacuuming the day before. It ran for about an hour and generated a full map of my 1000 square foot condo before heading back directly to it's dock to charge. You can watch it generate the map using the app, and you can see that it uses that map to navigate your home perfectly. It moved in clean lines and then shot to areas of the condo that had missing boundaries on the map to fill in the data. Its very clear watching this bot move that it's far more intelligent than non-mapping bots, especially those that just bump around forever. SUMMARY The compact and stylish Eufy G30 Verge is the king of navigating homes and always making it back to its dock. While it may lack the power and capacity of some of it's larger robot vacuum rivals such as the Neato D-Bot or Samsung models, it is more than capable of ridding your low-pile carpet and hard floors of hair and dust. Although I wouldn't recommend this for homes with operating areas larger than 1000 square feet or large levels of hair and debris like food, this is the perfect bot vac for areas less than 1000 square feet that is generally clean but you would like to maintain. This isn't a miracle worker that can deep clean your floors, but with a price tag of under $200 it's an absolute steal.Alex

I usually love the brand, Eufy. I have had two now. My first one is the first edition and it lasted a few years before it started to be really loud. It still sucked (literally sucked, not it was bad, sucked), but was too loud. So, I bought this one to replace my old one. I put my old one upstairs and kept this one downstairs. First off, it was a fantastic robot. It sucked everything up really well! It was really quiet and really fast. I keep really good care of everything I own. So, I regularly cleaned the filter and cleaned the wheels and did maintenance on to keep it going good. The warranty ran out at 12 months and at 13-14 months my little robot stopped sucking as well and became really loud. I contacted the Eufy corporate office and they told me a bunch of things to do to help the robot. So, I cleaned everything again and the problem stayed the same. I replied again and they offered me a discount. I explained that I think I might have a faulty one because my other one has lasted for years. Also, I did not want to buy another one for it to stop working at 13 months. They then offered a replacement kit, which contained brushes. I already had bought brand new brushes and I knew that this was not the problem. It stopped sucking up debris, so brushes were not what I needed. I explained all of this to them and they said that there warranty is for 12 months and I can honor the discount and that is all they can do. They and I were very polite to each other, but we just do not agree. I normally only review if an item was good, but I just did not want someone else to buy this and have it not work one to two months after the warranty runs out.CJ

The iLife Robot is great. I gets underneath areas that are hard for me to clean. It usually takes 2 charges to clean the entire house so the battery life is pretty good. It’s easy to clean up too. Highly recommend. Even the pup approves!amanda.k

I love this vacuum. It doesn't find its way back home but it works miracles hands down picking up dog hair. I have seven Chihuahua's life was a nightmare with trying to keep up with the dog hair not any more. I run it every morning while I'm getting ready for work and then when I get home 12 hrs late from work. Its the best.Gwen

We call this little worker DJ Beetle! (get it… eh eh?? maybe not lol) He keeps our house looking amazing considering we have two dogs and a now 13 month old. It is easy to set up and easy to get a specific time set so it will automatically do it itself. What we do not like about it is that it does tend to get stuck sometimes and has some weird obsession with getting stuck in our bathroom and closing the door.. However, when the battery starts to die or it is done it's task of rocking the house it will return to base till his next mission. The downside to him in terms of cleaning is he is not very good at taking dog hair off low pile carpeting but considering he takes about 1 hour worth of cleaning off my plate everyday he has earned his keep in the house lol!tori.a

This little baby is an absolute game changer! With pets and people through the house all day, there has always been the chore of yet another floor vacuum looming. Oh my goodness .that daily chore has been wiped off the list! Instead I have taken great delight in making a coffee and sitting down to watch this wonderful little maid complete it all for me !!! It does a great job, zooming around sucking up all the mess, yet also gently manoeuvres its way around chair legs and obstacles without causing any chaos. And I have to say, one of the best things is that it cleans under the bed!!!! No more do I have to get down there in awkward positions trying to manoeuvre the vacuum stick underneath to clean all the dust! What a winner!!! Absolutely love it and am still so excited about being able to just set it and leave it to do its thingand I don't even have to put it away as when its finished, as it says clean completed and takes itself back to the charging station to charge and wait until the next time! The Deebot not only vacuums but mops as well. Very easy to set up, not terribly noisy and had no problems moving from the tiles to the wooden floor, the carpet or the rugs. Am really happy with the vacuum job it does and although I will still hand mop the floors once a week, the Deebot's mop saves me from having to mop more frequently and my floors stay looking clean and tidy with no effort thanks to this awesome little home helper!Lisa

N8 Pro has all the advanced features of a premium robot vacuum but at a fraction of the price. Suction strength is good for both hard floors and carpet. Carpet detection means it automatically increase suction power for carpets and the cleaning result is good. During the first use it maps out the house, this initial step does take a long time to complete. After the initial mapping, I can choose to clean the whole house or smaller designated areas and it does so in a much shorter amount of time.During vacuum, it has sensors to avoid things like slippers, socks or random items lying on the ground. It does this reasonably well but I did have a floor standing fan that the vacuum cleaner didn't recognise as an obstacle to avoid, so it climbs on to the fan base and it ends up getting stuck and gave an error. To elaborate, the fan base was shaped like a ramp so the robot vacuum thinks it can proceed onto the base instead of avoiding it. I've worked out the solution was to either remove the fan from the floor to be cleaned or I could create a virtual wall with the Ecovac cleaning app so the robot vacuum will avoid the fan. Noise level is lower than expected. It is definitely much quieter than my non-robot vacuum cleaners.Overall, it does everything the marketing material says it can do and I think it does map, clean and avoid obstacles rather well. Battery life could be better as a single charge is insufficient to clean the whole house for me. Ecovac T8 and T9 , which are the premium models come with the bigger battery capacity but they have a much higher price point. I was happy to settle for the smaller battery because the robot will return to recharge and then continue to clean from where it left off.anonymous

I purchased the N8 Pro after considering all the other models. I have to say that so far I am very impressed with how well it vacuums my hardwood floors and carpets. It has no trouble changing from hardwood to carpet and does a very decent job, a lot better than I expected. The mapping went well however it did take a while as it had to recharge before it finished off the mapping. The 3D Auto detection does a good job of avoiding obstacles along with my dogs that like to stand in its way. I also purchased the auto empty bin and I am so glad I did. I find that it makes it so fuss free and saves having to empty it each time. I now vacuum my hardwood floors in our living areas and the main bedroom every day and the entire house once a week and the floors look spotless. I tried the mopping function once and it was terrible, luckily the vacuuming makes up for its poor mopping ability. This model doesn't have the oscillating mop attachment so maybe it would work a lot better if it did. All in all it was well worth the purchase.Gail55

Bobsweep is definitely like a child and needs constant watch. He is like a child in there terrible twos, always needing watching to make sure they don’t damage anything. He has no clue where he is ever going, many times just going in circles and cleaning over the same area. He is not smart and takes a long time to return to his charging base. Bob is louder then expected and considering the high price, I would have expected more features and better hardware. For the deal of the day price, bob definitely works but not ever at the full price. After only one hour of use, bob already had surface scratches all over the top of the unit from going under the furniture and getting stuck and not moving away but would just return to the same spot again. The remote for bob is huge and outdated looking for todays times. Bob does a good job at getting the little crumbs and pet hair but I would not recommend for someone who wants a vacuum to clean when they are away. I would never trust this to clean when not home as I fear it would do something stupid or get stuck and rip the carpet or just go back and forth over the same spots.Reviewer2020

I have had bob for over a year now and in that time I have had the battery replaced once. Other than that I love bob. He cleans up pet hair very thoroughly and saves me the hassle of having to do it. HE does some times get stuck but that's either because he's the perfect height to go under counters or the fact I have lips going into or from the kitchen. Haven't used the mop feature but his brushes work well. Sometimes he slams into objects but that's to be expected. He isn't perfect but definitely does a good job cleaning up pet hair. Customer service was great when I had to get the battery replaced. No complaints other than he gets stuck and sometimes can't find his charger.sweatyyetti

I've had Bob about 2 months now and i do not recommend this product. Bob has a programmable remote, but he only works when he feels like it, i have him programmed to run every afternoon Monday- Friday and he has yet to work everyday. You need to be home when he is running because he will get stuck and need redirected. Bob has no pattern, and I swear everytime he sees a pile of cat fur on the ground he turns away from it. Also he cannot get over even the slightest carpet hump. Bob never finds his way back to his charging port and he cannot even sweep my entire living room on one charge (about 45 minutes). Bob is also loud like a regular vaccuum, so he cannot run in the middle of the night for he would wake you up. Overall I do not recommend this product.sugarsnap39

I have been using the Deboot Ozmo 920 since mid August. Admittedly, I was very skeptical when my husband brought the Deboot home as I have never used a robotic vacuum before. However, after using it for a few weeks, I have to admit that this little robotic vacuum is a definite time saver and I was surprised at how well it can clean my floors. I also appreciate the mopping features and it does a good job with no streaks on my hardwood floors. The features and price of the Deboot Ozmo 920 are top notch and work just as well if not better than other leading brands. The laser mapping and software work very well, and having the ability to setup virtual "no go" zones is a definite asset and allows you to dynamically set up zones while mapping which prevent it from getting tangled in cables behind furniture. The multi-floor feature also works well, and the robot has always been able to successfully identify which floor it is on and automatically chooses the appropriate map. Now that the additional charging station is available for purchase, I will likely buy this to avoid having to move the charger between floors. Overall, I have been very pleased with the Ozmo 920 and after showing friends and family, they have also expressed an interest in owning one.CatherineB

I first purchased the Ozmo 930 back in June, 2019. At first, I absolutely loved it. It did a wonderful jobbing mapping the layout of my house and cleaned the entire place in just about an hour with no issues. But about 6 weeks into owning it, it started having some issues. It would seem to get lost, just spinning around over the same spot without actually being physically stuck on anything. The mapping function no longer seemed to work, as it would say the cleaning was complete while leaving two entire rooms completely untouched. I originally purchased the vacuum on Overstock, and was required to go through Ecovacs to return it. At first, they were really difficult to work with, but in the end, they did accept the return and send me a new one. I received the new one in August and waited to review it to see how it did. Well, just like before, about 6 weeks into using it, I'm experiencing the same issues once more. Only now it's even worse. The battery will die before finishing the clean, which it never had that issue before. It only takes an hour to clean the place; the battery should last longer than that. Again, it gets stuck on nothing at all, appears to get lost and skips entire rooms. Just like before, I've done the troubleshooting. The sensors are clean. The vacuum is properly maintained. It just seems like the computer system in it stops working over time. This shouldn't happen for the price of this. I'm now going to request a return for a full refund, as I have no interest in trying a third vacuum from this company. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! UPDATE: In response to this review, Ecovacs offered an exchange to the upgraded Ozmo 920. I gave it a try and have found this one to have the same issues, only far worse. It moves around as if it really can't see where it is going. It claims to have finished the clean and returns to the charging dock after having completed half a room. My house has a very wide open layout, free from clutter and obstacles. There is no reason at all that it should be experiencing such difficulty. I sent a video to the company showing them what was happening and telling them that I am finished with their products and just want my money back. They responded telling me they would swap out my original vacuum so that I could return it for a refund from the place of purchase, and that I just needed to confirm my address. I did so and asked for the return shipping label so that I could send this one back to them and get the exchange going. They have never responded back. That was 9 days ago and I've emailed them twice since. This has been a huge waste of time/energy/money and I just want to be finished dealing with this company altogether.NicoleMCgm

Can’t seem to find the charging port after taking on and off line restarting to factory settings it still says bring my to charging port laser frequently says LDS malfunction
No idea why nothing is blocking speaking that laser guidance it protrudes off the to of the robot over a inch just enough to get caught under a table and it keeps getting stuck under the same location so you have to get up and remove from under the table robot will say check the driving wheels and the dust bin

I've had a Bob and a Shark autovac and this iHome is the easiest to set up both the vacuum and the app. It's wifi connected immediately. Programming it to clean on specific days and times was extremely easy as well. I think the hardest thing to do was locate the power and home buttons which are touch sensitive and are unable to be seen if not lit up. This vacuum charges quickly and does a decent job sweeping and mapping a course. I have several throw rugs down, to help my GSD with traction, and this robot vac only got stuck once when it actually sucked up the rug and got jammed. My Shark got stuck on them constantly because it's wheels weren't large enough, which is one main reason I stopped using it. This iHome vac also easily finds it's recharging station before it runs out of life. The bin isn't as large as my Bob Pet was but it did my kitchen, dining room and small hallway before I emptied it and it would have he'd a little more. I haven't used it on the main carpet yet so I can't speak to how it will do there but I don't expect these robot vacs to manage heavier items such as carpets with deeper pile. I deep clean those with my Shark lift vac. This iHome robot vac is perfect to just make life a little easier cleaning my hardwoods and tile while having 3 dogs!lindchad

Eclipse G 2 does good on our hard surface floors such as kitchen and hardwood areas and just okay on carpet areas. Not a replacement for real vacuum cleaner or mop, but help keep up and extend full vacuum and mopping. I do like the mop feature and does surprisingly well especially if you spray hard floor lightly with cleaner. I don't see how this says it has navigation, it will tell you where it has been on phone app. however it don't remember room layouts and everytime it goes out it just bumps around like any plain robot vacuum. I found it works best if you just use remote and tell it to do room boarders then tell it to go back and forth in pattern otherwise it just bounces off everthing in no order. It also will not find home base if it is not with 5 feet from it. pushing home button just makes it bump around in circles until you make it go within the 5 feet of base. I'm also afraid that the battery my not last too much longer and only had it 4 months. I have notice a dramatic drop in battery life since new so I might have to use the extended warranty I purchased for it. All in all a okay robot vacuum/mop for the price, but I sure there are better out there. I will mark as yes to recommend item only for those that don't expect true navigation and have open floor plan areas.btim3

love this vaccum! i got it on clearance for $115 so the price value was amazing because its regularly $399! i have to say this thing is awesome! it has a super suction option and i pretty much only run it on that super suction. it picks up great! it really gets the sides of walls great too, its engineered to bump up to the sides and get every crumb. ive had robot vacuums in the past that were the bottom of the line robots that were "cheap" ($120 eufy brand) and so i was reluctant to buy another one but im so glad i did! it really does do a great job and i dont have to go behind it with my dust mop picking up the slack. i also love that i can just switch out the dust bin with the mop bucket and have it mop as well! it also vacuums in order! its not all over the place like the cheaper eufy robot vacuum. if your going to invest in a robot vacuum dont even waste your time with the "cheap" ones. you have to go big or go home. this one is excellent and ive heard its comparable to the $699 roomba. so it does save you a bit of money unless your lucky enough to find it on sale for $115 like i did! 🙂patrick

Like most folks these days I did some research before making this purchase. To be honest, there are so many robo vacuums both name brand named and unbrandes. This model is unique in that it both mops amd vacuums. Few actully do both. The price, comparitively speaking, is great compared to those that do leas amd cost twice as much. I am impressed with the job it does. Far above what i was hoping for. The mopping is amazing as well. The battery even lasts almost twice as long as advertised. I cannot think of a single negative attribute with this model. Im very pleased and will buy another when the time comes.MattMcG

I loved how this valcume picked up. Wasn't impressed with the mop option. But I ended up returning it because the charger/ charging port started not working all the time. The return process has been horrible. First I had to wait for them to email me back, then was offered a discount if I used warranty and now its going to be 10 to 13 days to get my refund. If Wal-Mart is going to sale items on their page please back the product by allowing returns directly through you.laura

I helped my parents get a much nicer one, but I needed to save the money and knew I was sacrificing some capabilities, particularly after helping them set theirs up. This thing gets the job 80% done. No mapping capabilities so it doesn’t track its location. Pretty sure the charging base uses radio frequency communication, which the robot only reads once within about 5-7 feet. You can see it realizes it’s finally near it, and then it tries to line itself up. Vacuum power is a little weak and misses items such as cat litter on hard floors pretty easily. Without a roller brush, the vacuum is going to miss things here and there. It’s also very basic programming, and will struggle to get back to its base. It will even knock it’s own base around during cleaning and sometimes make it impossible to get back to its base, so you’ll want to adhere it to the floor. I have a U shaped apartment, and if it ever ends its cleaning cycle in the opposite side of the U, it has a long journey of bumps and confusion trying to find its way back to the charging base on the opposite side of the U. I also had to buy furniture risers rubber pads because if it could just barely fit under something, it would turn itself off. The power button is easy to press under furniture and then you have to find the bugger just sleeping under your couch, so add some adhesive bumpers around the power button, and that’s resolved. Although I was concerned it wasn’t doing much at all at first, I found during cleaning that it has a substantial amount of mess inside it’s tank, and cleaning the filters was fairly easy. Plus, when I get tired of it bumping around endlessly trying to find its base, which it eventually does most times, you can use the app as a remote controller, which is a critical feature in my opinion. If I want to ensure my bedroom is hit, I can drive it there first and then let.Matt

I've had a few robot vacuums over the past few years. I've tried the big names like Neato D-Vacs / Roombas ($400-$700 range) and I found that while they had great suction power and capacity, their navigation abilities made them useless. All the cleaning power in the world means nothing if your robot vacuum never makes it back to it's base to charge and you're stuck hunting for it to carry it home everyday. I got this Eufy G30 Verge on a special buy price of $169 down from the usual $350, and it absolutely blows all of the other robot vacuums I've tried out of the water. It's very deceiving when you first fire it up since it's extremely thin and makes very little noise. I actually tried feeding it a couple dust bunnies to make sure it was on because it was so quiet. Despite this, 30mins into letting it map my house, I had to empty the dust bin because it was full….. with dust and hair (as seen in the pic)…. that was still on my floor without me being able to see it after manually vacuuming the day before. It ran for about an hour and generated a full map of my 1000 square foot condo before heading back directly to it's dock to charge. You can watch it generate the map using the app, and you can see that it uses that map to navigate your home perfectly. It moved in clean lines and then shot to areas of the condo that had missing boundaries on the map to fill in the data. Its very clear watching this bot move that it's far more intelligent than non-mapping bots, especially those that just bump around forever. SUMMARY The compact and stylish Eufy G30 Verge is the king of navigating homes and always making it back to its dock. While it may lack the power and capacity of some of it's larger robot vacuum rivals such as the Neato D-Bot or Samsung models, it is more than capable of ridding your low-pile carpet and hard floors of hair and dust. Although I wouldn't recommend this for homes with operating areas larger than 1000 square feet or large levels of hair and debris like food, this is the perfect bot vac for areas less than 1000 square feet that is generally clean but you would like to maintain. This isn't a miracle worker that can deep clean your floors, but with a price tag of under $200 it's an absolute steal.Alex

I usually love the brand, Eufy. I have had two now. My first one is the first edition and it lasted a few years before it started to be really loud. It still sucked (literally sucked, not it was bad, sucked), but was too loud. So, I bought this one to replace my old one. I put my old one upstairs and kept this one downstairs. First off, it was a fantastic robot. It sucked everything up really well! It was really quiet and really fast. I keep really good care of everything I own. So, I regularly cleaned the filter and cleaned the wheels and did maintenance on to keep it going good. The warranty ran out at 12 months and at 13-14 months my little robot stopped sucking as well and became really loud. I contacted the Eufy corporate office and they told me a bunch of things to do to help the robot. So, I cleaned everything again and the problem stayed the same. I replied again and they offered me a discount. I explained that I think I might have a faulty one because my other one has lasted for years. Also, I did not want to buy another one for it to stop working at 13 months. They then offered a replacement kit, which contained brushes. I already had bought brand new brushes and I knew that this was not the problem. It stopped sucking up debris, so brushes were not what I needed. I explained all of this to them and they said that there warranty is for 12 months and I can honor the discount and that is all they can do. They and I were very polite to each other, but we just do not agree. I normally only review if an item was good, but I just did not want someone else to buy this and have it not work one to two months after the warranty runs out.CJ

The iLife Robot is great. I gets underneath areas that are hard for me to clean. It usually takes 2 charges to clean the entire house so the battery life is pretty good. It’s easy to clean up too. Highly recommend. Even the pup approves!amanda.k

I love this vacuum. It doesn't find its way back home but it works miracles hands down picking up dog hair. I have seven Chihuahua's life was a nightmare with trying to keep up with the dog hair not any more. I run it every morning while I'm getting ready for work and then when I get home 12 hrs late from work. Its the best.Gwen

We call this little worker DJ Beetle! (get it… eh eh?? maybe not lol) He keeps our house looking amazing considering we have two dogs and a now 13 month old. It is easy to set up and easy to get a specific time set so it will automatically do it itself. What we do not like about it is that it does tend to get stuck sometimes and has some weird obsession with getting stuck in our bathroom and closing the door.. However, when the battery starts to die or it is done it's task of rocking the house it will return to base till his next mission. The downside to him in terms of cleaning is he is not very good at taking dog hair off low pile carpeting but considering he takes about 1 hour worth of cleaning off my plate everyday he has earned his keep in the house lol!tori.a

I have hardwood floors and I simply want roomba to do a quick daily run on the high traffic areas (kitchen, high traffic passage/hall, and entrance). The whole area is roughly 800 sqf. I have change the settings to custom do that it does 1 run per area so that it's "as quick as possible", yet it takes about 1 hour to do 280 sqf, and that's if it doesn't get stuck. Every single day it manages to get stuck in the most stupid way possible. On the rare days it decides to do the entire job it also finds a way to screw up. As you can see in the attached picture, one day it decided it needed to clean my neighbor's house. So it happens that NY neighbor has the same iRobot model and we think somehow they were trying to get together for a good night out. The dumbest part of all? Now that route is permanently part of my map and the only way to erase it is to start from scratch again…. I can't believe the software doesn't allow for manual modifications to correct the dumbest "smart" appliance ever created. Another incredible aspect of this useless piece of junk is that it's built to run with the lights on. The camera that's on top of it, does not see well in darkness so you absolutely have to run roomba during the day of with the lights on!! Another annoying thing about this is that every 1 or 2 months it simply decides that it won't do the daily run for no apparent reason, so every time I have to press the clean bottom for 20 seconds to remind it that I actually do not like dog hair on the floors. Ling story short, do not buy this model. Even if you win it on a raffle, don't hesitate to give it away!!!! The sad part is that when it runs, it actually does a decent job on the hardwood floors. The thing is that it takes too long and only finishes about 2% of the job required. Like I mentioned before, my neighbor has the same model and he is equally as dissatisfied with it as I'm!Ricardo

I have had this robot for a year and it has been the worst purchase I've mad. The robot is completely infuriating. So let's start with the price – at the given price point I should be doing maintenance on this this only when brushes or bags need to be changed. It needs weekly cleaning and troubleshooting. The regular vacuum I purchased following this purchase (due to continued requests to return, and constant emails because this robot, has literally worked less than 9 times this entire year on command) requires me to empty it once a month with once a week use. The app is flaky at best and the robot almost never responds to it. Even though my virtual assistants can get it to at least make noise. Not to mention it's loud – all the time. Loud when emptying the bin, loud when running and loud when docking. The bin never empty's as designed so I always have to manually do it, with new bags old ones or anything. I thought it may have been clogged but my new vacuum pulled nothing. Operation is so infuriating, I can't stand to use this item that was supposed the make my life easier! The mapping is awful, and if you try to fix it to help the robot, you'll spend hours to discover that the adjustment only last as long as the robot doesn't run again! When the battery gets low, it never goes back to the base and because the battery is dead I have to search and find it. My smart home is set to turn the lights on when it's scheduled to o run, to help it "see", and it still manages to not be able to find its way back. To make matters worse, the lights were set to go off when the robot redocks – luckily they still went off after an the robot died. I could go on and on about the sink hole of money you will spend on accessories, and the time you will waist troubleshooting nothing, but I would say – just don't waist your money, spend it on a Dyson or Bissell!Shay

This is our first foray into the world of Robot vacuums and must say I personally am blown away by it. We have owned it for the last one month or so. We chose the S9+ iRobot Roomba since based on my research, it is the best robotic vacuum at this time. So far it has fit this bill perfectly. The installation was very simple and my daughter did it since she was so super excited about it that she would not wait up for me. So by the time I got to it, she had already installed it and kept it ready to go. We put in the laundry room and it does not take much space. We started the mapping run on day one of installation. It took a good 5-6 hours and we had a bit of doubt as to what exactly it was doing. But apparently this robot learns and now we have a daily schedule that vacuums the most frequently areas which it finishes in an hour and 10-12 mins like clock work. We have tiles on the first floor with carpet in two rooms. The vacuum switches from tile to carpet mode effortlessly. The vacuum’s suction (S9+ has the highest suction in current range of iRobot vaccums) seems just right. I am amazed at how the vacuum navigates itself through the maze in your house. The careful drive feature does work and it does not bump into objects. Also it seems to clean in areas that our usual vacuum does not reach. Although my wife would occasionally sweeps the floor to bring dirt from under normally stationary objects like sofa etc, it is not needed everyday. For the daily quick clean, make sure though that there are no dangling wires that may get entangled in the vacuum or any clothes. The vacuum can get stuck if there are clothes lying around. We do “clean everywhere “ deep clean on the weekends and that job finishes in about 5 years. If I had to suggest improvements, I would say somehow if they can make it more quieter in future, it would be awesome. Also I know this is asking too much, but if it can do stairs and go on second floor too. 🙂 Little bit regarding the Mop. We were debating whether we should buy the Vacuum and Mop combo but decided to go for it since Bestbuy was giving a nice discount on the combo during the Black Friday sale. The mop does a decent job, is very quiet and even tells you if you forget to fill the cleaning fluid. It takes a long time though so if anything, that is what I would ask for improvement. All in all, very happy with the purchase!AtulK
