Best Robot Vacuum Pet Hair (2023 Update)

I bought this in 2018. It has worked less than half the time since then. I am constantly trouble shooting issues. Currently have an error 11 that I cannot seem to resolve and of course it now recommends purchasing another battery. The replacement parts have already cost a fortune to keep the thing running as little as it does and the new battery they want me to purchase is $100. Not really Inclined to spend more money trying to keep this thing running. The small amount of time it actually worked it did an ok job. Never really seemed to learn the patterns of the house and was super loud running Into everything. I had much bigger hopes than it delivered.Amy is disenchanted

So, as of this date I've tried: AnotherBrandE30; Roomba e6; Roomba 985; and Roomba i7. This Roomba e6 is the surprising winner! Frankly, Lil Bubba bounces around in an annoyingly random manner — but man he sucks up the dirt! Better than the 985, and the i7 so far as I can see. Here's the challenge: average sized home, three *curses* carpeted bedrooms. Rest of home is tile or hardwood. A long history of being owned by animals (four-legged, domesticated type). Essentially, a giant petri dish of year-round allergens. Roomba e6: Simple, hardest-working, effective. Yes, he lacks a rational mapping program. So, yes, he will bounce around seemingly randomly, to clean the space. I will say in his defense that when he finds a wall or senses an edge, he will run along it, and follow for example, a tight turn around furniture legs, etc. So there is some "logic" of a kind. But this guy is sturdy which is why I love him so. He has *never* registered "dirty sensors,* he keeps ploughing through even when his little wheels are all wrapped up in pet hair (do clean them regularly!), and never gets lost or stuck anywhere. He just works hard, returns home and docks himself. No fanfare — I LOVE MY LIL BUBBA! He cleans like a mother-on-a-mission! The first time I ran him through the master it took only ten minutes for his bin to fill (head bowed in shame). There was pet hair in there that must have been left by two pet-generations ago! He just kept at it. Keep in mind, this carpet had been "cleaned" by conventional vacuums prior to buying these irobots! Ten runs later, he had cleaned down to the underlay for the full hour! But here's the thing — because he lacks a mapping program, he works best if contained in a specific space. So, set up the sensors to keep him confined to one room at a time and he'll be fine. Probably not as effective to give him full run of the house. Did I mention I LOVE him? Lil Bubba's suck-power seems way greater (at "5x!") than the i7 (at "10x!") power.OwnedByCritters

I've had a Bob and a Shark autovac and this iHome is the easiest to set up both the vacuum and the app. It's wifi connected immediately. Programming it to clean on specific days and times was extremely easy as well. I think the hardest thing to do was locate the power and home buttons which are touch sensitive and are unable to be seen if not lit up. This vacuum charges quickly and does a decent job sweeping and mapping a course. I have several throw rugs down, to help my GSD with traction, and this robot vac only got stuck once when it actually sucked up the rug and got jammed. My Shark got stuck on them constantly because it's wheels weren't large enough, which is one main reason I stopped using it. This iHome vac also easily finds it's recharging station before it runs out of life. The bin isn't as large as my Bob Pet was but it did my kitchen, dining room and small hallway before I emptied it and it would have he'd a little more. I haven't used it on the main carpet yet so I can't speak to how it will do there but I don't expect these robot vacs to manage heavier items such as carpets with deeper pile. I deep clean those with my Shark lift vac. This iHome robot vac is perfect to just make life a little easier cleaning my hardwoods and tile while having 3 dogs!lindchad

Eclipse G 2 does good on our hard surface floors such as kitchen and hardwood areas and just okay on carpet areas. Not a replacement for real vacuum cleaner or mop, but help keep up and extend full vacuum and mopping. I do like the mop feature and does surprisingly well especially if you spray hard floor lightly with cleaner. I don't see how this says it has navigation, it will tell you where it has been on phone app. however it don't remember room layouts and everytime it goes out it just bumps around like any plain robot vacuum. I found it works best if you just use remote and tell it to do room boarders then tell it to go back and forth in pattern otherwise it just bounces off everthing in no order. It also will not find home base if it is not with 5 feet from it. pushing home button just makes it bump around in circles until you make it go within the 5 feet of base. I'm also afraid that the battery my not last too much longer and only had it 4 months. I have notice a dramatic drop in battery life since new so I might have to use the extended warranty I purchased for it. All in all a okay robot vacuum/mop for the price, but I sure there are better out there. I will mark as yes to recommend item only for those that don't expect true navigation and have open floor plan areas.btim3

love this vaccum! i got it on clearance for $115 so the price value was amazing because its regularly $399! i have to say this thing is awesome! it has a super suction option and i pretty much only run it on that super suction. it picks up great! it really gets the sides of walls great too, its engineered to bump up to the sides and get every crumb. ive had robot vacuums in the past that were the bottom of the line robots that were "cheap" ($120 eufy brand) and so i was reluctant to buy another one but im so glad i did! it really does do a great job and i dont have to go behind it with my dust mop picking up the slack. i also love that i can just switch out the dust bin with the mop bucket and have it mop as well! it also vacuums in order! its not all over the place like the cheaper eufy robot vacuum. if your going to invest in a robot vacuum dont even waste your time with the "cheap" ones. you have to go big or go home. this one is excellent and ive heard its comparable to the $699 roomba. so it does save you a bit of money unless your lucky enough to find it on sale for $115 like i did! 🙂patrick

The iLife Robot is great. I gets underneath areas that are hard for me to clean. It usually takes 2 charges to clean the entire house so the battery life is pretty good. It’s easy to clean up too. Highly recommend. Even the pup approves!amanda.k

I love this vacuum. It doesn't find its way back home but it works miracles hands down picking up dog hair. I have seven Chihuahua's life was a nightmare with trying to keep up with the dog hair not any more. I run it every morning while I'm getting ready for work and then when I get home 12 hrs late from work. Its the best.Gwen

We call this little worker DJ Beetle! (get it… eh eh?? maybe not lol) He keeps our house looking amazing considering we have two dogs and a now 13 month old. It is easy to set up and easy to get a specific time set so it will automatically do it itself. What we do not like about it is that it does tend to get stuck sometimes and has some weird obsession with getting stuck in our bathroom and closing the door.. However, when the battery starts to die or it is done it's task of rocking the house it will return to base till his next mission. The downside to him in terms of cleaning is he is not very good at taking dog hair off low pile carpeting but considering he takes about 1 hour worth of cleaning off my plate everyday he has earned his keep in the house lol!tori.a

I do like this product! A lot! The mapping within the app is very cool and really useful. Returning to the base to recharge as necessary during a full house vacuuming is great. The price is fantastic. The following are not complaints, they are meant to help the software team debug issues. The bad #1: 100% of the time when the vacuum gets to the top of my basement steps it gets itself stuck in the carpeted corner between the top of the steps and the 8" newel post which projects into the room. It "knows" the newel post is there because it has drawn it on the map (I realize this is simple for a human to understand but may be a bit more challenging for an AI). I move the vacuum back and tell it to continue and it goes right back and gets stuck again. I haven't quite figured out what it is I do to get it to finish the job, but it eventually does complete. The bad #2: It hates a rug that has a lot of black in it. I believe it thinks the black is a cliff. The bad #3: If it gets stuck on something when it is nearly out of power it will eventually stop. If the power is low enough it will shut down and I cannot turn it back up until I carry it over to the charger. When it recharges and is ready to resume, the option to resume is gone, and I can only select Vacuum which restarts the entire job. Looking back, would I buy it again? DEFINITELY YES. I'm confident the Wyze team will figure out these problems and solve them with future software updates.Craig G

This is an early statement as I've not even had it a full month yet. Hopefully all of this will still hold true down the road. I've had another brand robot vacuum for several years with the same feature set to compare it to. It died so I'm trying this one rather than buying another more expensive one. The mapping software did a great job creating a map correctly the first time. For new owners, I would definitely suggest starting with a map-only run and not a clean and map. Our cleanable space is just about 1000 sq.ft, and it wouldn't have been able to make it without stopping to recharge. The battery life is where the ability to set multiple schedules is a crucial feature. It works as expected, and is easy to use. What could help here is if the robot did a smarter path. It completely circles the room prior to starting the cleaning of the area. It also leaves some sections in one room completely undone while it heads to the other room. This means extra battery life spent having to drive back over there. I was initially hesitant about the robot only having one brush. But watching it in action, it does a much better job hugging the wall to get that brush into the corner of the molding and the floor than my previous robot. The mapping here does seem to be smarter in knowing which walls are longer and runs them first. This is perhaps why it does a full perimeter before starting on the room? The mapping software does have some shortcomings. It didn't separate two rooms that my Deebot did, and the software isn't letting me separate them like I would like to. If they could add a boundary line option in addition to boundary boxes, that would be great. It's easier to cut angles with. Otherwise, the no-go zones work as expected. In the future, it would be great if they could implement a "go clean here" option that could specify a particular spot in a room, just the rug for example, rather than having to do the entire room. It's loud. Not as loud as my upright vacuum, but definitely louder than my other previous robot. If you work from home and have to be on calls, you will want it to steer clear of whatever room you're in. All of this said, at its core, it does what it needs to do, and it does it really well. We are a 2-person household. No pets and no kids. And I'm still shocked by how much gets picked up each time it runs.Aaron W.

This was my first robot vacuum and was pleasantly surprised at how it functions. I'm big on a tidy house, but not so much on vacuuming, so this is a helpful gadget. The Lidar mapping is fairly accurate, but you have to set "no-go" zone where it might get stuck. The app is straightforward in programming the functions, but the firmware presently does not allow for multi-floor cleaning. The Wyze user forums say some customers currently do have the upgrade though. Supposedly it's a very slow rollout to others. I contacted customer service thinking my hardware caused the holdback, and they sent out a new vacuum (at their cost) under warranty. Arrived within 4 days of the offer to replace. Still not able to upgrade the firmware though. BTW… customer service is excellent. Downsides: 1.) When setup on carpeting the device has a difficult time getting reset into the charging station when finished cleaning. You have to double stick tape the recharge station to the wall. On hard floors, no problem. 2.) The dustbin is really small. It has to be emptied after every cleaning. If the floors are especially dirty, emptied during the run. 3.) Wyze is currently out of stock on filters, and brushes that have to be replaced after a certain duration, but… there are china suppliers who offer replacements that fit and can be found online. User forums can be helpful with this.Yancy

I have children and a cat and also hardwood floors throughout the main living area. I run the vacuum daily and the mop twice weekly on a schedule I set via the app. Additional runs of both are made when necessary. A daily schedule significantly cuts down on allergies for my household. The app was easy to download, set up and customize to my personal needs. The vacuum created a map on its first run and the mop did after two runs. I was able to divide out areas and label them so I can have the vacuum or the mop clean certain rooms, if desired. The mop also allows you to create smaller 'Keep Out' and 'Clean" zones, which will allow you to keep out of specific areas or do a heavier cleaning in an area. My vacuum is not showing these options and I would really like to see this feature, as my vacuum tends to get stuck on our boot tray. Upgrading from a manual empty bin to the self empty dust is a major plus for my busy family. We were emptying the bin every 1 to 2 runs, spewing dust all over as we emptied it into the trash and now it goes weeks before it will need a new bag. The mop needs to be refilled every 1 to 2 runs and I replace and clean the pad between each run. Overall, I am extremely pleased with how easy this was to personalize to suit my needs. I can use the app to run additional cleanings whether I am home or away which is very convenient. I can clean specific areas by either map or Alexa (you can also use Google/Siri). My cat likes to spend time with the mop and vacuum so enabling the child lock ensures she won't accidentally turn on one of the devices. As far as cleaning, the robot picks up a LOT of dirt and dust every single day, despite the floors not appearing dirty, which was an eye opener when compared to our previous vacuum. I ran the mop every day the first week and now have it set to twice weekly and it also picks up a lot of residue with each cleaning. You can personalize the mop to use 3 levels of cleaning solution and 3 levels of overlap (less, normal, more). There are a few things worth mentioning. The self empty cycle on the vacuum runs at the end of the cleaning. It is loud. Very loud. I was not prepared for this and it happened the first time during naptime. I have scheduled my cleanings to avoid this happening again. There is also a Do Not Disturb function that you can set in the app for the devices. Also worth mentioning is that the mop takes a long time to clean. I run about 400-450 sf on the mop and it takes 2 to 3 hours on the normal overlap, less solution setting. The mop doesn't take the same path each cleaning and sometimes runs with the hardwood and sometimes against and we have one area that it tends to show the wheel marks when it runs against. The mop also can not go over all thresholds and is limited in height. Ours can not cross into the one bathroom or laundry room due to the hardwood threshold. None of these are deal breakers for my family, but they may be for others. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this set. The combination of the vacuum and mop has my house looking clean and refreshed and has significantly cut down on our allergies. The vacuum handles cat hair, dust and dander much better than anticipated and the mop tackles the dirt and grime that comes with everyday life. I highly recommend this set to anyone with pets, kids and/or allergies, or for others simply looking for a combination of vacuum and mop that provide a deeper clean with the ability to personalize.Elthin12

I've been a Roomba user for about 15 years now and was excited to try this new WiFi connected version. Package allows you to take care of vaccuuming and mopping the floors, however software integration between two robots could have been a little better. For example – the only way to mop after the vacuum is to let Brava (mopping robot) start after Roomba (vacuum) finishes, there is no way to have them go room-by-room right after each other. Both robots do reference their own map and don't share (or don't seem to share) your house map between each other as each robot has to learn the surroundings by itself. Individually robots are doing a pretty good job though! Roomba (the vacuum) – seems to have a few troubles with a real thick carpet I have in the dining room (see photos) even with the majority of chairs removed – it tends to stop at the edge of the carpet and declare a "cliff" emergency asking for help. After manually moving the robot – it does not seem to learn the lesson and goes for the "cliff" again and again. There does not seem to be a way to block off the area of a thick carpet in the app. It does take Roomba about 6 (!!!) hours to vacuum roughly 1000 sq ft of hardwood and carpet are of my first floor so it takes multiple "naps" at the charging station. Cleaning quality is pretty good though and there is almost no mess to deal with – just replace the paper waste bag at the charging station when it gets full. Roomba does seem to bump a lot into walls and furniture though, I would probably opt for a higher model of Roomba equipped with synthetic vision and object recognition (like charging cords or pet waste). Brava (the mopping robot) – machine has an on-board tank for the cleaning liquid (Bona is what is recommended) and a spray nozzle up front. It would spray the cleaner first and then wipe it out with a microfiber cleaning pad that is attached underneath the machine. It only has 2 wheels so 3rd point of contact is the mopping pad itself. While it's doing a great job on the hardwood floor – it is having a horrible time at the transitions between hardwood and tile (Kitchen area) and hardwood and tile just under the fireplace. While flooring surfaces are level – they do have a small transition which throws Brava sensors off. It either can't climb over a transition or is attempting it at 45 degree angle – goes about half way over but suddenly gets "scared" and reverses rapidly. That results in it unable to get back to it's charging station unfortunately and giving up on a job. I really hope it's just a software update fix as I really like the Brava. Overall – it's a great power couple – but I would probably upgrade to a higher model if your home "terrain" is not easy to navigate thru.xKing

## Setup There is a lot of packaging to go through, breakdown, and put into the recycling bin, but at least you know that everything is protected well. Once you have all the pieces out of the box, you’ll find a quick start card to help you set up the charging base and wake up your robot. You’ll then head to the iRobot app to finish setting up your robots and connect them to WiFi. You may need to let it charge for a while (and apply any needed updates), but after 30 minutes or so, your robot should be ready to clean. ## Performance ### Roomba i3+ If you’re upgrading from a previous Roomba (or other robotic vacuum) like I am, you may be surprised to find that the i3+ includes a “mapping” feature. You can either allow the vacuum to learn while it cleans, or you can send it on a specific mapping-only quest where it doesn’t clean but instead just ping-pongs around your house, keeping track of walls and other barriers. You can then see the map inside the app and section off the rooms and name them. You’ll probably see some hilarious shaped rooms in the app as the Roomba doesn’t know furniture from a wall, but you get a general idea of what the Roomba can “see” around your home. After you name the rooms, you can use the app to have Roomba clean only a certain room, which is handy if, for example, there is some dry cereal spilled in the kitchen and you don’t want the Roomba to clean the whole house just to get to the cereal. The Roomba i3+ seems to have some upgraded rollers and suction power as I notice it picking up more dirt than my previous Roomba. One of my favorite features in the self-emptying dust bin! When the Roomba returns to its base it (loudly) transfers the dirt from the robot into a bag inside of the base. So the Roomba can perform multiple cleaning jobs before the dust bin needs emptying. I rarely used Alexa with my previous Roomba because while I was bent over emptying the dust bin, it was just easier to hit the “Clean” button while I’m down there. However, now that this Roomba empties itself, I might use the Alexa integration more often! I rarely run the Roomba while I’m away from home as I like to be within earshot in case it gets tangled on a cord I forgot to pick up. However, I like that the app notifies you with a push notification if there is a problem. I also like that with the app, you can set the floors to automatically be mopped after you vacuum. It’s like the two robots are BFFs! ### Braava jet m6 Before cleaning, you’ll need to attach a cleaning pad to the bottom of the Roomba (either one of the included single-use pads, or the multi-use microfiber pad) and fill the inside tank with a mixture of the cleaning solution and water. This is my first mopping robot and it is quite interesting to watch it work. It will move forward in a straight line about 2 feet or so, and if there are no obstructions, it will back up, spray some liquid, and then drive the cleaning pad over it, going an extra foot or so while the cleaning pad is still wet. The Braava did a surprisingly good job maintaining the straight lines while it cleaned the floor and probably did a more thorough job mopping than I normally do. 😀 It struggled more under the table and chairs, but in all fairness, I’m able to move the chairs completely out of the way to mop under the table so a human definitely has an advantage there. The Braava also does a good job of not overstaurating a certain area and uses the little bit it sprayed on the floor to cover a wide area. You can adjust this in the settings in the app to have the Braava use more or less liquid while cleaning. I set it about in the middle and was pleased with how well it cleaned. I can even walk in the area it cleaned after about 10 minutes without getting my socks overly wet. The Braava has a very low clearance and does not go onto carpeted areas or even the mats under the doors. This also prevents it from spraying cleaning solution down the furnace grate on the floor which I appreciate! I’m also happy I did not have to buy additional virtual barriers that I would have to move between vacuuming and mopping. When it is done, you can throw the multi-use pad into your washing machine or hand wash it so it is ready for the next cleaning mission. ## Summary This combo pack of the Roomba i3+ and Braava jet m6 is a great tag team system for keeping your floors clean! I appreciate the mapping features and the fact that you can set the robots to work in tandem with the Roomba vacuuming first, then automatically handing it off to the Braava to mop. The self-emptying dust bin is also an appreciated upgrade for keeping the Roomba ready to clean at any time.TechnicallyWell

My ex-roommates used to have a eufy 35C robot vacuum, and I must say it kept a very neat apartment for us in the context that my roommates had two long hair cats. Lately, I moved to a bigger townhouse and got a cute British shorthair of my own finally. To make my life easier, I firstly bought a Roborock S6 pure because it had a decent discount. However, it didn't work so well on cleaning the hair as I expected. Moreover, it gets stuck by the circular bases of my floor lamp and bars stools all the time, which is quite annoying. Meanwhile, I found Eufy just released a new robot vacuum and I was thinking how about give it a try since the Roborock is still within the duration of free return. It turns out to be a very wise decision. The new Eufy X8 hybrid can have an almost full dustbin even though the floor was just cleaned by Roborock, which is very impressive. In addition, this guy got a smooth move and has good obstacle avoidance ability. Even my friend (who is still a student driver) admits her turning skill is not as good as the robot. Also, the complex terrain is not a problem anymore. It can get over those round bases very easily. It does have a bit louder noise (due to its dual turbines I suppose) and is pricier than Roborock S6 pure though, I think it perfectly fits my needs as a vacuum robot helper and a good friend of my kitty. All in all, I give 5 stars for this purchase and will recommend it to all my pets' parents friends.Luke

There is much to like about this vacuum, including its map-building and no-go zones, as well as how much it sucks (hehe, never heard that one before I bet). You can adjust the suction power and intelligence in the app. It's quite a bit louder when you put it on max or do a spot clean. All that said, for my apartment, the mop function just feels useless. The mop is always in contact with the floor, with no retraction or shielding mechanism. Combine that with the fact that the base station only makes sense to place in a carpeted area in my apartment, and if I place the vacuum manually, it has to position itself, which can involve going up on the carpet, and the end result is that I have to manually intervene quite a bit to ensure it doesn't sully the carpet with the mop. That's even with the no-go zones since it doesn't seem to know where to go or not go until it positions itself. And of course we're doing all this work for what amounts to a rag attached to the bottom of the vacuum to be dragged around. Given how involved it all is, and how small of an area I have to mop, I'd rather just wipe up manually as spills happen. But I still give the device 4-5 stars across its categories because I didn't buy it for the mop. I figured that part wouldn't be of much use to me. I bought this because the discounts currently being offered actually made the X8 Hybrid cheaper than the plain X8. Anyway, good little vacuum overall!Dibbs

OMG, the first few times it cleaned the carpet I could not believe how much dirt it got up….the carpet looked noticeably cleaner. Now I use it as maintenance and it just does its think while I work. I purchased August 16, 2020 followed all instructions work diligently for three months trying to get this robot to connect to the base and Wi-Fi. I spent hours beyond hours with customer service of the company the lady was very nice but could not get this robot working on this date November 22 or 23rd whatever day it is. I didn’t turn to Amazon where I bought it from knowing it never worked from the time I purchased it to the date. It never worked!!!! The frustration of dealing with the company and your scent out of the country with phones that don’t work in the countries outside of the United States and you’re still getting the runaround for hours later until I requested my money back from Amazon and jumping through some hoops very large hoops many of them I will eventually get my money back hopefully. I would recommend never ever under any circumstances buying this product if anybody can say something positive I would check it out. Great product loves that it lovingly bumps into things while keeping my home clean it does really well on the stairs ( meaning it doesn't try to Skyrocket off of them) and I have rather thick carpet and it dose a good job transitioning between hardwood and carpet quite well.malaynnut0

I'm a woman with Cerebral Palsy who uses a power wheelchair for mobility. A vacuum can be hard for me to use & steer my chair so I have always wanted a robot vacuum for times when my aides aren't around & messes happen. I received this last Thursday & it has been truly amazing! I initially had some trouble getting it to connect to my WiFi but the problem solved itself. Setting up the base was simple & it charged quickly. It has a clean & dock button as well as a camera/sensor on the vacuum itself. I let it run on clean cycle which was about an hour. In 30 mins it did its first self emptying. It made a decent map of my home layout (in the shark clean app). I love that I can schedule times for it to begin cleaning & also tell it when to return to the dock to empty & charge. I have a Siamese cat & it works great to pick up the fur & liter! I've already emptied the dust bin once & washed the filter, both were very easy to do & I had no issues. I also figured out how to take out the brush roll if needed. This has been a huge help in maintenance of my carpets & keeping my home clean. I'm loving this vacuum!!Nene87

Having both two dogs and two grand kids in addition to tile floors in the busiest part of the house, without at least once daily sweeping, it can easily get to a point where there is enough sand and dog hair to be more than noticeable. I currently have a robot vacuum that does great on my carpeted areas and due to the house plan I either need to move it to the tile floors or simply go with another vacuum as it cannot transit in between. Due to the high traffic in the tiled areas a Self-Empty is a must have feature, enter the Shark EZ Robot Self-Empty vacuum. I have several Shark/Ninja products and already trust the quality and reliability of them, so the Shark EZ was a no brainer for me, so lets get into this great little vacuum! Packaging/in the box – The Shark EZ Robot Self-Empty vacuum came in what I consider standard egg crate packaging that kept the vacuum and base station well protected even with some serious rough handling on the outer box to the point there was a crushed zone. Everything was easily located and simple to setup. The Shark EZ comes with a landing pad for use on carpet (I intend to use this on tile, so this was not required in my case), Two spinner brushes, the instructions and quick start information, the Shark EZ robot unit, the Self-Emptying base, and of course two preinstalled filters. Everything was protected by plastic bags and clear film strips. Removal of the protective strips was easy and left no residue. If I had any complaints here it would be the lack of spare filters. I only bring this up as most robot vacuums I have looked at seem to come with at least one set of extra filter(s). That said the Shark filters are reasonably priced, so it is a pet peeve in a way. Setup and use – As I have come to expect from the Shark/Ninja products I currently have that use apps, the setup was mad simple. First set the base in a suitable area that provides three feet of clearance right and left and five feet of clearance directly forward of the base station. Turn both the base and the vacuum on and dock the vacuum. Scan the QR code and install the app, in my case I use android so this installed from the play store and was up and running, including account creation and pairing of the Shark EZ, in about five minutes total. I have had this out on it’s first two cleaning missions and was very impressed on how quickly it mapped our floor plan. All in all the tiled area is around 450 sq ft and has a few obstacles the most complicated being a tripod that it handled very well. Clean time was around 28 min each time and it did amazingly with the amount of sand and pet hair it had to deal with! Note that while this robot does work with both google home and amazon alexa we chose to use this solely via the app and have it scheduled to clean twice daily. All in all I am extremely happy with the cleaning time, navigation capabilities and performance of the Shark EZ Robot Self-Empty vacuum, see below for my Pros and Cons: Pros 1) While I do not have the exact capacities the Shark EZ robot dust bin appears to be around the nine ounce range while the base station bin best I can tell is around one quarter gallon. We love owning a robot vacuum. Recently gave our Roomba series 900 to our son and daughter-in-law, I needed to find a replacement. Roombas prices have increased significantly since we purchased ours so we looked for an alternative. The Shark had good reviews and was considerably less money for what appeared to be similar features. The good things: it does what you would expect. It maps the house, vacuums, returns to the base when it needs to be charged, and automatically empties the bin into the base container. The bad: we’ve been using it for a month now and it still will not map our entire house and it skips portions of two rooms. We have to section off that room and do a special manual vacuuming with the robot to get it clean. It also does not have the same suction and overall power that the rumba did. It leaves behind a crumbs and debris on the floor that our rumba would have picked up. There is a feature in the app that allows you to increase the power, but I have yet to figure out how to set that as default. You have to turn it up while the job is running. It reverts back to normal power for the next job. Also, right out of the box the robot squeaks when it operates. Due to having less power, it is not as noisy as the Roomba, but the squeaking is quite annoying. Three stars for us is a C rating. It is adequate, and since we spent less money than a Roomba, we got what we paid for.Bot 1

I really wanted to love this vacuum and mop combo. At first, the vacuum and mop worked great. I have 3 dogs and would have this vacuum run everyday at 10a while I was at work. After a few weeks, it would say that it's stuck and to clear the area while in the middle of an empty floor. After contacting ecovacs, they said they would fix my issue since it was within the 1 year warranty of purchase. The back and forth took 2 weeks for them to send me a UPS label. It took another week for them to fix my vacuum and to get it back to me. I literally just opened the box since I desperately needed a vacuum on my hardwood and tiles floors. I set it down and it will only go 10 seconds before saying the brushes are tangled. I would clean whatever dog hair it picked up in the 10 seconds of working and restart it only to have it say the brushes are tangled. I bought this product on 8.20.21 and today is 10.29.21 so a little over 2 months, I had an issue, sent it to the manufacturer for them to fix, and have a new issue which makes my vacuum worthless. Do NOT waste your money on this!FloV

Don't waste your money! This is the third robotic vacuum I have had, and this is the worst one. It gets stuck on everything, like an area rug corner. I haven't even tried the mop function and won't after seeing how horrible it is at simply basic vacuuming. It has three power levels. I don't know why because I don't see a difference. Battery life is poor, suction poor. You are better off just getting your upright vacuum out and getting the job done without the hassle. Oh, lastly the little front brushes you will want to order a lot of those if you get this vacuum not even ten days and I have lost two sets.Applefanforlife

Being a lazy house cleaner, I’ve been longing for an intelligent auto-clean bot, hence following this category of robotic vacuum cleaners for a few years now. [TL;DR let me cut through the chase, … I regret to inform you, … we’re much closer, … but not quite there yet. The Jetsons’ “Rosie” remains the holy grail ] Having owned a couple of these robot vacuums in the past, I had high hopes the recent technological advances in technology would yield a true replacement to traditional handheld plug-in vacuums. I break them into two categories, smart and dumb vacuums. Unfortunately, I’d place this one in the latter category, despite being a definite upgrade from our previous 2017 dumb robovac (pic silver). Competing smart vacuums today are equipped with LIDAR systems (laser echo-location so to speak) emitting a beam, and measuring the feedback loop. Benefits being they mostly avoid bumping into floor-standing obstacles, like guitars and corner lamps. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Ozmo. Other smart robovacs may employ ceiling mapping cameras to learn your house, and navigate its cleaning route, while others utilize smart AI algorithms, and many offer pre-defined Clean vs. Restricted / Avoid areas (keeping it away from stairs and narrow spaces it’s been known to get stuck, etc). While the Ozmo U2 offers app integration to modulate cleaning modes, (general path, corner scrub, etc). I was unable to detect a plethora of intelligence in its routing algorithm. This unit repeats the same areas while neglecting others. e.g. A> I have counted 6 times (and counting), , that this unit seems magnetically possessed bumpering between a guitar amp and tower stereo speaker. e.g. B> Ozmo cleaned an area in our kitchen, moved to the next area (though got caught under a cabinet easily dislodged by a nudge), then returned to the area it just completed, before getting stuck under the same cabinet at same exact point (rug in front of kitchen sink minimizes height. Having said that, the app is incredibly helpful, and obviates the need for a handheld remote control, with many features worthy of exploration. DISCLAIMER : the following supposition has NOT been authenticated. It is merely this reviewer’s observation and nothing more. ———— Initial setup for me proved problematic, as trying to register the vac in the Ecovacs app was unsuccessful and required a call to a very capable and attentive support rep. Ozmo U2 has a QR code to scan, but would not add the vac to the app. The problem was iOS 14 beta on iPhone 11 Pro Max, presumably to be fixed. Using my wife’s iPhone 8 (iOS 13) setup was more straight forward, as long as you don’t mind “FORGETTING YOUR WI-FI PASSWORD, and RE-TYPING IT INTO THE ECOVACS APP”. Sorry: it’s probably benign, but I get a bit wary sharing sensitive data foreign or domestic. Requirements included Location Services, and suspiciously “Forgetting your WiFi Network”, and typing your router password directly into the app. I’m probably overly paranoid, but admit heightened privacy concerns when supplying sensitive information like Exact Location, house plan maps (some models) and Wi-Fi Passwords. *** I suggest you use Guest WI-FI account credentials ***, with limited access to the devices on your network. I purchased this vacuum as a gift to my parents who are in their 70s and have arthritis, bad backs, and joint pain. Floor buildup happens pretty quickly since they live in the desert and have a dog and this helps to keep the floors clean in between professional cleaning visits. The vacuum is relatively quiet and easy to use. If you are technologically challenged (as they are) it comes with a simple and straight forward remote so that using the app is not necessary to start the device or chose modes. The vacuum is the perfect height to move under furniture and does not get stuck transitioning from carpet to wood or tile and is able to push itself over seams without getting stuck. So far this has been such a game changer in my parents home as it has made cleaning easier and pain free.SJA23

As a puppy owner with fibromyalgia, it’s been hard on my body pushing a vacuum multiple times a day so I began looking for a robo vac to lessen the physical stress. It was difficult finding one within my budget til I ran across this ionvac. I can’t believe how great this works. I initially had the dock stored on the carpet and it was having a difficult time getting back. I misread the instructions that say to keep it on a hard surface and once I switched the location, it immediately fixed the docking issue. It is great for picking up loose dog hair and crumbs. I just make sure that there aren’t any cords in the way before I start it. I use the auto option on the remote and let it do it’s job. So far, so goodJenn

I came across this RoboVac on rollback at a nationwide department store. I've always wanted one, but they were always out of my price range. This was on sale for $97 so I could finally afford one and it's been such a wonderful help to me! I am partially disabled, so vacuuming more than once a week was difficult for me and getting under furniture was not possible. This Robo Vac does an AMAZING job! I am CONSTANTLY amazed at how much it picks up each time even when things LOOK clean! It gets under every piece of furniture with a 6-inch clearance. We have a 1-inch drop from our hallway to our kitchen. I was afraid it wouldn't go over that drop and if it did, that it wouldn't be able to get back up. It does EVERY time! If, for some reason, it gets stuck, it gives off an alarm and then shuts itself off. There's even a "lost robot alarm" feature in case that happens when you're not home so you can find it when you get back. It comes with a remote, but you can also download an app that runs the unit from your phone, which not only enables you to schedule cleanings, but gives you the ability to start a cleaning session when you're away from home, in case you find out you're getting unexpected company. It's relatively quiet – MUCH more so than any vacuum I've ever owned. And I just LOVE that I can schedule it and forget about it. But make sure you empty it after each cleaning because you will be AMAZED at how much it picks up! Emptying the trap is RIDICULOUSLY easy and it's even easy to release the center roller brush so that you can remove any hair, etc. that might wrap around it. Their customer service is fantastic as well! I purchased 3 of them – 1 for myself and one for each of my kids. Sadly, all 3 were missing one of the side brushes. I emailed customer service and got a response within 24 hours. Once I got back to them, they again responded within 24 hours and immediately arranged to send me the missing side brushes without any argument. When iRobots first came out I scoffed. The looked cute and all but I could not imagine it going around and just doing its job without interruption. Then I started reading these reviews and Consumers and figured – 90 day money back guarantee (from Walmart, not iRobot) why not try it out. Now we have a small condo (870sq ft) so there are lots of things that need to be picked up before vacuuming. The notion of setting it up to clean without us saying so would not work. It would be swallowing socks or whatever. We learned two main lessons. Let your roomie do its thing. Let it go. Read a book or watch TV. It may be hurrying down the corridor away from you when you think it should have taken care of something right by your side. Let it go. Watch your program. It will come back. The other is that if you have pets clean it out about twice as often as the instructions say. Oh, a third warning. This saves a lot of work but it is not labor free. You need to empty the dust, clean the filter and clean out the brushes regularly. We are a couple in out 70s and really appreciate our roomie even if it pays no rent.Niall

PERFORMANCE: The biggest issue I have is that this Roomba 670 tends to vacuum over the same area numerous times instead of moving in a systematic manner. It takes much longer to complete a job because of the random pattern and vacuuming where it has already cleaned. Rather than making small adjustments and work around furniture, it will turn and go in the opposite direction if it bumps into something. DOCKING: When returning to its charging station, it has a hard time finding the dock and can take quite a while to find its way. If it ends in another room, it will most likely not find its way back before the battery dies and you will have to assist it. CLEANING PERFORMANCE: It does an ok job my hardwood floors, but obviously you'll have to keep the floor picked up from obstructions, and you'll probably want to run it pretty much everyday. VALUE: The price of this Roomba 670 is a little high for no more than it does. $179 would be a pretty reasonable price in my opinion. I believe it normally runs around $269 though I found mine on sale for $199 at Walmart. OVER ALL: It may take some time to decide whether it is actually worth the money spent based on the fact that it takes much longer to vacuum as opposed to just getting a vacuum and doing it yourself, when and where you want to vacuum. The difference between taking 15 minutes to vacuum one room compared to 45 minutes to an hour. For hardwood or vinyl floors I would recommend. I do have a rug and it did not do so well on it so I wouldn't recommend for carpet.ChattanoogaLookoutMtn
