I have owned 2 sets of the ORIGINAL Remington TRAVEL Hot 10 roller set for over 6 years and absolutely LOVED them. It had the METAL bottom that the curlers sat on inside the case which heated the rollers very quickly (within 5 to 7 minutes). The new ones look the same but do not have the metal bottom they have a plastic bottom that NEVER gets hot so consequently nor do the rollers. I was told by the Remington customer service that "the plastic is over the metal to protect consumers from putting their fingers on the hot metal". I said "but the heat is not transferring. Why don't you put a plastic screen that is full of holes to let the heat come through to heat up the rollers? " Well guess what… when I went to return the new rollers I noticed that Remington did sell a large set of rollers that did have the plastic screen with the holes! They obviously know that there is a heating problem with the newly designed travel sets but they are making no attempt to pull these defective roller sets off the retailers shelves and replacing the defective ones. I gave the 2 new sets over 30 minutes each using different wall receptacles and they never did heat up enough to put in my hair . Very disappointed because the older ones were GREAT!Very Disappointed
I ordered a second set of these curlers because there weren't enough rollers in one set for my whole head. I do have somewhat thick and long hair, but not much more than average. I would think most people would need two sets unless their hair is very fine and short. I was also not very pleased with the wire clips that are meant to hold the rollers in. They kept shooting off across the bathroom. I use those plastic claw clips on mine that I got at the Dollar General. That works much better. I do really like the case these rollers come in. Others I've used in the past had hard plastic cases that always seemed to crack and break, letting cool air in and making them work less efficiently. This case is fabric and soft vinyl, and it seals tightly. The case is also very small, so it takes up less space on the counter. What I REALLY like is how well these rollers work. If they are pinned tightly on the head and allowed to stay in long enough to cool, they curl really well. My hair is thick, fine, and very straight. It's really hard to curl and to stay curled, especially when it's humid as it has been where I live. These curlers set my hair very firmly and the curls stayed all day. My hair was even still somewhat wavy when I woke up the next morning. Now that I have the second set, I know I'm really going to love these.merry-gifter

Even if I have curly naturally, I am constantly looking for how to enhance them and to take a better care of them. I love how practical they are by being small and compact. The pink is cute. The voltage is worldwide so you can use it everywhere. It heats pretty quickly. I did not find any issues with the pins. They don't crease the hair. I used hot rollers in the 80’s with no problems on long hair and got long lasting curls. After years of having short hair and letting it grow out during Covid., I thought hot rollers would be faster than a curling iron. These rollers get so hot, even the end edges you’re suppose to hold get so hot it’s almost impossible to pick them up. I purchased these for travel as they are compact and lightweight….the case adds no extra weight or bulk. They even work well (obviously with an adaptor) on EU voltage. I have long hair and they stay in well. My complaint would be the following: I wish all were the same 1" size and it would be perfect if there were 16 instead of 12….that's just me. I have purchased almost every type of roller sold by amazon. The magnetic rollers were the only style that worked easily for me. However, when I received these, I was surprised to see that they did not have the 2nd plastic part that clips on to the roller over your hair, to hold it on the roller. I love the size of these rollers because I have long hair. I figured out that you can use one long snap clip to hold them in place, somewhat. I would recommend these for people with short to medium hair. I have very long hair and when I wrapped my hair on these thin rollers my hair came out looking like an afro! No way to wrap looser (as advertised for softer larger curls) because end need to be wrapped tight to keep on curler and then the rest is spiraled down thin curler resulting in Shirley Temple ringlets that spring like a slinky toy. This set of rollers is perfect for tried and true old-fashioned roller sets that last. I hate heat styling appliances and these are the perfect alternative. The assortment of sizes included are great for all lengths of hair. They are light weight. The type of clips included can sometimes get tangled in hair, so I would recommend the long bobby pin type roller pins if that proves to be true for you also. These curlers work the absolute best if you Shampoo, condition, brush your hair, then roll your hair while still wet. If you can endure putting a hair net over your curlers and sleep on them. In the morning once dry spray with hair spray then begin to unroll the rolls slowly. The results are amazing. Super cheap. Like I said though to get amazing curl there is no better way. It was a mess. You’ll need a shower cap or something to hold the rollers in place. The worst part is when you take them out, you will cause breakage and significant damage to your hair. The rollers get stuck every time you try to unroll leaving you to yank them out. After I got everything out, my hair looked like a birds nest and staticky.Terri
I got these because the other brand I wanted was only sold online. These are self holding, but did not stay put so I used pins to hold them in place, they just ended up pulling my hair and making a huge frizzy mess. I used a styling lotion and my hair was still tangled and crunchy because these rollers only tangled them. 3 stars because you get a lot of them for $9, but they could be wider.LaurellW
Learn from my mistake. I went to Target, read the reviews for these, but really wanted to use these tonight, hardly any other stores were open, and thought “it won’t happen to me”. I put one in my hair to test it I tried to take it out and it was FULLY ENTANGLED in my hair. Like it took 20 min to get it out… I was crying thinking I was gonna have to cut a chunk of my hair out. Horrifying experience. I didn’t think these would be that bad cause I thought if they’re that bad why would they make them? No they ARE that bad. It MIGHT be my hair got tangled easy since I have fine hair but I honestly think any type of hair would get tangled. Stay away from these. It's better than the hot rollers I used to work with years ago! I like the color coordination of the curlers to the pins and there was complete smoothness, no tangles getting the curlers out of my hair. I now have 2 sets of Remington Ionic Conditioning hot rollers. One is at the beach house and one here in town. When I partner these with Pantene Heat Primer Spray for curls that last for days. My long hair (waist length) doesn't hold a curl as well with anything else that I have tried.Winner
I used hot rollers in the 80’s with no problems on long hair and got long lasting curls. After years of having short hair and letting it grow out during Covid., I thought hot rollers would be faster than a curling iron. These rollers get so hot, even the end edges you’re suppose to hold get so hot it’s almost impossible to pick them up. Also nothing to keep the hair on the curler for the first few wraps without attempting to touch the curler. The curls did not last as long as my curling iron curls. I took it back. I would not recommend them. The curlers need a better design. The 80’s hot curlers were much better.Sendi

Got these about two years ago and, out of all my hair curling tools (rollers, curling irons, styling brushes, foam curlers), these hot rollers by Conair work the best! The dual voltage makes them great for travel, too. What I do is plug them in when I wake up so I can shower, etc. as they heat up. After 15-20 minutes, I put some mousse in my hair, put them in the hot rollers (the varying sizes are perfect for my thick, waist-long hair), and leave them in for another half hour or until the rollers cool. That way I have time to do other things as my curls set. When I take them out, perfect curls every time! Not stiff and looks very feminine and glamorous. Kind of like VS model hair! I don't put hair spray afterwards and they typically last 12 hours or longer. Of course, they turn into soft waves as the hours go by, but still very pretty. The only drawback is that it's quite bulky, so I'm currently searching for a small iron that can produce pro-looking curls like these.HDNSY

I ordered more large and replaced the smaller ones–however, they're tricky to fit in together as not much space between the bases the rollers sit on. Love them and have no problem otherwise such as with the rollers staying in–they stay in great. I dislike butterfly clips and prefer these metal clips. Also, the rollers aren't too heavy like some are for my fine hair.Classyshopper
