I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. I had high hopes for the roomba I7 and the braava jet by iRobot, but about 7 months into my roomba ownership it is not the hassle free experience it's made out to be. My I7 worked great for about a month and a half, but since then it's been plagued by numerous issues, glitches, and vastly reduced battery life. I've called support 4 times fo report issues, and generally, troubleshooting fixes my issues for a week or so at a time before another issue arises. I'm lucky if I get 45 min average battery life on my I7 now, but when I called support, I was advised that "it's normal"…after only owning it for 7 months. Nevermind that it takes 3 hours to return to a full charge after only running for 45 minutes. The braava is a completely separate issue. Between the tracks and the film on my floors, it doesn't get used much. However, I bought a water softener and filtration system, and the film is a lot less than it used to be, but if you don't have soft water, the film can be rather unsightly. While I was expecting that cleaning my house would to be easier when I bought my roomba and braava, instead I find I spend as much time changing pads, replacing filters, and swapping out brushes; emptying bins or filling tanks; cleaning off sensors and troubleshooting issues; and getting frustrated that my roomba can't actually clean as on demand as it's made out to be. My roomba randomly gets lost and can't find the home base causing me to track it down in the most unlikely of places; gets drunk and randomly falls of the ramp onto the home base; or worse yet just runs out of battery in the middle of a job and stops in the middle of the floor. My advice to someone thinking about buying: don't own a dog, don't have kids, and don't live an active lifestyle. Why you might ask…..because the roomba and braava will not help you save time cleaning up after any of them consistently.Frustrated

Great product, mapping is the best I have seen, suction is good but I would recommend to vacuum every 3 days as the manufacturer says. The time saving is the most precious asset of this type of machine as you can do something else while the robot does the job for you. Easy to clean and filter are replaceable. However, sometimes it leaves some minor debris (just a few) and the corners are not it best but these are minor things. Customer service it awesome, my robot stopped working properly, sent it to the repair center and got a new one. It important to mention that you should remove small items from the floor like lego bricks and also clothing before activating the robot, otherwise it will get stuck. Again, the best asset of this product is the time saving, at the beginning I was not sure expending so much money but after these years is totally worth it. I decided to go for this brand and specific model and not for a some other brand cheaper to avoid the frustration of a bad job and end up vacuuming the floor with a normal vacuumFerLin

I got this on sale from Target after watching its price for a while. This seems to be the best combination of (relative) affordability and performance on the market from the professional review sites I looked at beforehand. Taking it home and running it, I found that it actually performs much better than my old upright vacuum with zero hassle. I have it vacuuming areas of tile, utility carpet, and medium carpet in my 1200 sqft apartment. It does an excellent job with all of these surfaces. If I have it vacuum the whole place, it does need to charge about mid-way and maybe empty a couple times in the middle, which I think is reasonable considering that we have a dog and it is picking up a bunch of hair each time. Regarding specific gripes in other reviews: yes, the emptying sound is loud (but not jet engine, more like the volume of a regular vacuum) but only lasts a few seconds. I find that it picks up dog hair pretty well. It also handles thresholds/rug edges fine at about 1cm. It bumps into things when learning, of course, but not with much force contrary to some reviews. As for the learning, it didn't take much for it to master my oddly-shaped layout between the rooms and the furniture in them. I definitely would spring for the base instead of just getting the bot. That way you can truly start it and forget about it instead of having to manually empty a few times as it putters around. Overall: 100% recommend with no regrets and I wish I had gotten one sooner.thebandageman

I bit the bullet and upgraded from a dumb robot vacuum (ecovacs N7) to this smart robot vacuum because it was on sale for $200 off MSRP. Three months later and I've been completely satisfied with the upgrade. Thanks to the mapping feature on the J7 I was able to replace 2 existing vacuums and know that my entire upstairs got cleaned. The old vacuum would get stuck in a room because it couldn't find the door and keep cleaning the same area till it ran out of power. The self emptying dust bin is a great time saver and means less maintenance each week. The sensors and programming are much better at keeping the J7 from getting stuck and having to be rescued. I'm not thrilled about sharing my floorplan and cleaning schedules with iRobot, or any company. The roombas are very expensive. Even more expensive if you have multiple floors and need daily cleaning in all areas and have to get multiple vacuums. It's brushes will leave a few little twists of felted up hair behind if you have pets, long hair, or both so it's not a pristine clean unless you have it do a deep clean every time. However, I am more than willing to deal with those negatives for all the benefits that this robot vacuum offers over my old robot vacuums. If you want to see if a robot vacuum is for you I'd suggest getting a cheap one to try with for a year or two. No robot vacuum is perfect or capable of competing with a traditional vacuum. If you can accept the compromises though and find them beneficial then I would highly recommend getting this model when it's on sale. Overall I found that this unit clean the floors and rugs extremely well. Better than my upright. Here are some things I've learned. Even though it is relatively low profile it has gotten stuck under my couch and dresser. However, it does clean in tight areas under furniture given sufficient clearance that I don't normally clean that often. I found that the battery does not last the claimed 90 minutes nor does it know when to return to the charging station when the battery level is low so it just dies wherever. The phone app is unreliable primarily due to losing the wi-fi connection to the unit. I found doing selective room cleaning to be best by closing doors and limiting the area where it cleans. I wouldn't leave it running unattended until you get familiar with where it could get stuck. I would minimize clutter or other items on the floor that it could get caught on such as shoes laces or appliance wires, etc. While not as noisy as my upright, there is a constant sound level that some may find disturbing. One can still talk on the phone while it is running. Hey it has a motor… Navigation looks totally dumb as it will go over the same area a few times, but then one is assured that the area is clean. No matter I am happy with the vacuum as it saves me the time from dragging out the upright and from manually vacuuming. Instead I can be doing other things while it is working away!Mike

I purchased the J7 after I decided to retire my few years old Roborock S4 to the basement and get some newer technology. If the J7 was my first robot vacuum purchase I would probably be happy. But when compared to my previous one this has too many annoying problems. Let me start with what it does better. First, it really is a good-looking vacuum. Much nicer than the homely S4. Next, the amount of pet hair and dirt it collects is at least 30% better than the S4. So isn't that what a vacuum is supposed to do? Vacuum? Why 3 stars? Because it only finishes a cleaning job 50% of the time. Reviewing the last 30 cleaning jobs on the app, only 14 finished. There are way too many issues that require my intervention to get a finished job. It sucks up objects it is supposed to avoid, brushes get stuck with pet hair, doesn't dock properly so not charged for next job, strands itself because it didn't recognize no-go zone, etc. It is rare I need to help along the S4 except to empty the much larger dust bin or clean the washable filter (which the Roomba does not have). I wouldn't say I totally regret this purchase but given the opportunity to do it again I would go with another Roborock. BTW, as I write this review the Roomba has not cleaned in 6 days while I wasn't home. Battery was dead sitting on the charging dock.BretLee

I purchased a Roomba 692 on 1221622021, 02/08/22, the side brush stopped working. Of course it's past the 30 day Amazon return period, so after a painful hold time of 40 minutes, the young customer service tech says she will send me a replacement part. I tell her I am worried about this hunk of junk breaking down every month, I mean one of the components didn't even last 2 months. So Irobot sends a a Roomba 675, no instructions, 35 minutes with irobot tech support because it wont connect to my internet, he tells me to reset my phone and that he would call me back in 5 minutes, guess what he never called me back. I research 675, you can't even buy it..Did Irobot swindle me, I paid more than this replacement is worth, but come to think of it, these irobots are nothing but hunk of junks. I will NEVER recommend these products to anyone. oh and thanks for the printed manual for an outdated model, NOT, this company couldn't even send me a manual.Krystyna

My husband got me the Roomba 675 for Christmas and OMG…by FAR my favorite gift!!! I love this little thing. We have mostly hardwood floors and a few area rugs along with a shedding Labrador retriever. This little roomba, sent out once a day for a half hour, has been amazing! My house has never been more consistently presentable. For those who want it to. For those that want a Roomba to deep vacuum their house, be aware, this is not a deep vacuum cleaner, BUT it is the best sweeper I've ever seen, to include using my broom and dust pan (which I used to have to do at least every other day just to keep my floors from looking like a quarry). The Roomba picks up 90 to 95 percent of the tracked in gravel, sand, pieces of grass, maple tree helicopters, spilled cereal, dropped toast crumbs, dog hair, dust, coffee grounds…the list goes on and on. So yeah, I HIGHLY recommend this product, just be aware, you do still have to actually vacuum your rugs etc with an actual vacuum cleaner periodically, but wow…for day to day tidying up? Yeah, I know it a machine, but honestly, I am already very fond of it! It isn't very loud either, I mean it does make some noise, it is an electronic sweeper after all, but I can easily watch the news at normal volume or listen to music without it bothering me while it goes around d and does chores that I would have otherwise had to do myself. LOVE IT! Adding…it does help the roomba to pick up your shoes and to pull the chairs out from under the dining room table a bit, but that is a small price to pay in my opinion to have a hardwood floor that is 'guest presentable ' at any given time. I do live in a single story home, 2400 sq. Feet, but even this basic model of roomba seems to be learning my homes layout, and if I want it to go somewhere else, I just block it with my foot and off it goes in a new direction. I bought this product after getting hard wood floors. It seemed that my floors now showed dust, cat fur, and specks much more clearly. I have been very satisfied with this vacuum so far. Honestly, I am shocked every time I clean out the vacuum. I am amazed by how much it picks up – even if I had just run the vacuum a couple days before. We have two cats, and this Roomba definitely helps us have a cleaner home. It is much quieter than a traditional vacuum cleaner. My cats keep their distance, but they don't run and hide like they do with my traditional vacuum. I am wondering why I didn't purchase one sooner!Kate

While the vaccine has its weaknesses it cleans better than we did before we purchased it. We have 5 carpets with tassels or fringes. The Rumba loves to get caught on these and runs till the battery runs out. So we move the smaller carpets and the 16 X 20 silk carpet is adjusted so the Rumba can not clean it. We simply turn the edges over so the machine can not climb on it. Then we vaccine that rug the old fashioned way. The filter works so well it is hard to believe. We ran the Rumba all over the house and left for a week long trip. When we got home we ran the Rumba again and it picked up the dust. The filter was clean except for a bunch of dust. The product was cranky when trying to hook it up to the app. Since I have to move it between 3 levels of the house I just don't bother with the app. Fortunately I am still able to get up and walk to the device and push a button. I do not need to depend on Google or Alexa. The bad reviews I read were from a bunch of people with unrealistic expectations. As an aside the vaccine does not actually learn your house because when you use it again it has to learn it again. But it does remember where it left off if it needs to go home to recharge and then it starts where it left off.lukeman5433

These robots are useless after a year. The first year I had it, it worked really well. I maintained it, cleaned it, and charged it regularly. Before the first year was up, I filed the warranty because it stopped picking up anything. Now, a year later, its repeating the same thing but iRobot was very comfortable telling me to spend a minimum of $110 to repair the useless hunk of metal and plastic. Or the other option was to spend $200 to buy the lower end models. For something that initially cost me $350, this should last me as long as a Dyson but its a complete waste of money. I also got this because I have severe allergies so if I dont regularly vacuum daily, I get allergy attacks. I thought this would address but instead, I just ended up wasting my time. Im very disappointed that as a responsible user who put trust in something as expensive as this product, my whole investment went down the drain in less than 2 years. Ill be buying a regular vacuum now, they night be susceptible to the same breakdowns but theyre cheaper and pick up a lot more dust and particles.epics46

This purchase was to replace an original 960 bought new from iRobot when it was a flagship model. I am reviewing the second, replacement for the refurbished 960 I purchased from the eBay store. The first one was so bad and had so many faults and problems including not being able to dock that I requested a refund the next day. I gave it a second chance and ordered another one while waiting for the return and refund. It is maybe only 40% defective, but it will function and dock. It will not stop cleaning and return to the base as programmed for bin emptying until the extractor discharge shoot is full and dumps on the floor requiring hand clean out each time. It is incapable of driving over any throw rug or carpet runner without getting it pulled into the extractor rollers and hanging it up, it lacks the intelligence to free it's self from these obstacles like the original did.tgblair

For the price, this is a good entry-level robotic vacuum. It's not a good option if you're hoping for a deep clean, and it will never get into the tightest crevasses, but for a daily sweep or spot clean it is actually pretty handy. You can set it and forget it when heading out for work or let it loose in a specific room. It's noisy on bare floors but reasonably quiet on carpets. The rollers and dust bin must be cleaned out regularly, but it does get under beds and couches, which I appreciate a lot – less bending for me. If you have an open concept home you may wish to purchase "virtual wall" room dividers from iRobot to keep the Roomba constrained to specific areas (available online). At the end of the day, it's kind of like owning a blind, rather stupid dog that runs into furniture constantly while scarfing up crumbs and dust bunnies. We named ours Poltergust 3000.TFrancois

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to try several robot vacuums, but nothing has come close to the ECOVACS Robotics DEEBOT X1 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop. This unit offers so many features and outperforms all previous units and it also includes a mop feature! What’s in the box: – DEEBOT X1 OMNI vacuum and mop robot – OMNI auto-emptying and auto-cleaning station – Extra dust bag – Extra pair of mopping pads – Cleaning brush – User manual When it arrived the size of the box was a little surprising, I was nervous about how big this robot might be. Once unboxed, it is actually a very manageable size for our home. We have a perfect spot in our family room for the base unit which provides access to all the hardwood and tile flooring on the main level. Setup: There are extensive instructions included (user manual) that are easy to follow and made the initial setup a breeze. Ecovacs has done an amazing job of simplifying the setup process for the non-technical user. Both the Deebot (vacuum) and the Omni station (base – instructions attached) require setup. The base needs to be plugged in and the clean water tank filled. The DEEBOT should be fully charged before initial use. The side brushes and mop pads can be installed at this point or left off for initial mapping of the required spaces. Once the area is mapped a 2D or 3D map is available, rooms can be identified, and zones can be setup and customized as desired. There are numerous settings available based on user preferences. Cleaning: The DEEBOT X1 simply outperforms any previous robot vacuums I have owned. The unit runs quietly, and the mopping performance far exceeded my expectations. We have a small dog that keeps us on our toes in terms of cleaning the hardwood and tile flooring and it’s now a snap. We get approximately 3-4 cleanings out of a tank and the clean up between uses is very manageable. I've owned several robot vacuums and I can say nothing comes close to this Ecovacs robot. I've used it for a few days now and am completely blown away with how well this robot works and how dead simple Ecovacs made the whole process. Out of the box this thing is huge. I've had one other self emptying robot vac and the base station for the X1 dwarfs my old base station. This is largely due to the fact that this base station has two massive water tanks to fill and empty the robots on board water tank used to mop hard surfaces. The robot itself is sleek and feel sturdy and very high quality. Packed with every feature imaginable, this robot really is the most advanced smart home device I've ever used. Setting the Robot up was so simple. I followed the instructions in the app, plugged in the base station, connected to wifi and used Ecovacs built in voice assistant "He Yikko" to tell the vacuum to get started. It then made it's way around my house quickly mapping out the entire house room by room. Gone are the days where you have to wait through several full vacuum cycles to get a map of your house. Within 15 minutes the app was updated with an almost perfect map of my house, it even recognized the toilet in the bathroom. After getting the map of the house, I popped on the mop brushes and sent the vac on its way cleaning my house. There were a few things I was really surprised with. The first being how quickly it made its way around my house. It was considerably faster than my old robot and still cleaned just as well if not better. The second was the X1's ability to identify changes in the floor. When you have the mop brushes on the X1 easily identifies transitions to rugs or carpets and knows not to go there and try to mop your carpet. I was also shocked at just how well it cleaned after its first full run. The first run the X1 wandered around finding every wall and moving in what fell like no logical way. But at the end it did clean the house. But every time after that this thing moved like a well oiled machine, starting at the back of the house and moving room by room making straight lines through the whole floor. I will say my floors have not looked this good in a long time. I decided to really test out the X1 by starting it without cleaning up the shoes and toys my kids left all over the house and not opening all the doors all the way. I was again shocked to watch the X1 roam through the house, dodging socks and dolls and finding its way through a half opened door to go about its business. It really only tripped up once by sucking up a white barbie dress, which to be honest is understandable. I've learned the X1's base water tank will last about 4 cycles of mopping by about 1000 sq ft of hardwood, which seems very nice. Emptying the dirty water is quick and simple and man was it full of dirty water. I have no doubt this think is cleaning after looking at the water. It really is a start and forget kind of robot that will do everything you need it to and exceed all your expectations. But the fun doesn't stop at mopping and vacuuming. The X1 has a few other little features that just add to the fun. The first being the build in voice assistant. I wasn't expecting very much, since usually proprietary voice assistants don't work as well as Google or Alexa, but this this is pretty cool. It's faster to respond than any assistant I've used and works great for getting the X1 started and has fun little features like yelling at your X1 to come clean by your feet. There is also a built in camera and speaker on the front of the X1 that lets you use the X1 like a sentry if you want it to roam your house to keep an eye on things while you are away. It's an interesting feature and a neat little addition. I can't say I've gotten a ton of use out of it, but how cool is that my vacuum has a camera. Really the only thing I had any problems with was I wanted to put cleaning solution in the water used to mop, but Ecovacs recommends you only use it's cleaning solution. Only problem is, I can't find anywhere that the cleaning solution is sold. It's not even available on Ecovacs website, which is really strange. Overall, this thing has it all. I don't think you'll find a more advanced robot vacuum, which makes sense given this things price tag. SETUP/MAPPING It comes with the Deebot X1 Omni vacuum/mop robot with a plethora of sensors, two side brushes, a “floating” main brush, three wheels, and mop system attachment with pads. The top is magnetic which grants you access to the on/off switch and a cute little bagless bin that can hold 0.1 gallons with a reusable washable filter that empties automatically when the vacuum goes back to the station or manually if you want to go back to that peasant lifestyle. The Omni auto-emptying and auto-cleaning Station is large compared to other bases. As it houses a clean water tub, dirty water tub, a cleaning brush, an extra pair of mop pads, and a 3L disposable dust bag. The power cord is removeable and has a place to wrap it on the back for cable management. Both the vacuum and the base feel well built, solid, and high quality. Each of the tubs has thick plastic with rubber textured handles. Everything opens and closes easily. Along with sliding in and out of place smoothly. You can tell a TON of engineering went into every single aspect of this device. Replacement parts aren’t too expensive either which is good. They report an overall run time of 140 minutes. Which I found to be accurate on stock settings. But if you increase the suction power it is a lot less. If you run out of battery mid clean it will return to the dock, charge a bit, and then resume cleaning. They report it takes 6.5 hours to charge fully. Which is a long time, but they likely chose that to maximize the life of the battery. They say it has a max decibel range of 68 dB. I found on stock settings it was close to 50 – 60 dB and would imagine going to maximum suction would be between 60 – 68 dB. On the lid of the base, it gives you instructions on how to get started. Which pretty much says unbox everything and scan the QR which takes you to the Ecovacs HomeVac App which then walks you thought the rest of the process. Which is pairing your robot, connecting it to the internet, and doing the initial mapping that you can see in real time. They report that it uses True Mapping 2.0 which scans the home environment, quickly generates a map, plans the most efficient cleaning paths, and they guarantee less missed and repeated spots. Which I found to be accurate. Once the initial mapping was done, I fine-tuned it by adjusting my house walls, combining some rooms, labeled them, and made a few software barriers. Such as my stairs. It treats that barrier as a wall, and I haven’t had an issue with it. Overall setup time was about 30 – 40 minutes. VOICE CONTROLS: The Voice Control supports Alexa and Google Assistant. But also has a unique one called Yiko. Which you can access by saying “Ok, Yiko” and then a plethora of commands such as “begin cleaning”, “stop”, “return to dock”, “what are you doing”, “clean x”, “mop x”, “clean under table”, etc. You can say “I’m here” and through sound localization tech it will seek you out and clean around you. All of which worked well just like any modern age smart assistant. However, the robotic voice can be improved as it doesn’t sound very good. You can increase/decrease the volume through commands or via the app. And it will call out when it is doing something which I LOVE. Such as starting a clean, returning to the base, emptying the bag, cleaning the mop pads, etc. Which I really like. As that way you aren’t left wondering. For those of you concerned about privacy voice commands are saved on a server which you can go in and delete in the app. You can also turn it off if you’d like. OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE: It uses something called AIVI 3D which utilizes AI computing power, astrophotography-grade RGB camera, LiDAR, dToF sensor, autopilot technology, and human recognition to identify and detect obstacles while scanning the home and creating paths to clean even in the dark. They do report that it works better in well-lit environments. Which I found to be true but did just fine in the dark. With all this tech it does a spectacular job at avoiding objects. On the extremely rare occurrence it did suck something up it shouldn’t have it would automatically turn off the brush, lift itself up, and try to vroom off. This worked every time without intervention. There are two protective bumpers on the front, and I found it rarely bumped into anything to activate them. Even when it did it was very mild making me unconcerned about damage to the vacuum or the thing it was being rude to. It never ran into me or my dog. When it detects an object (shoes, dog toys, clothes, cords, socks, etc.) it will clean around them with a minimal barrier (maybe an inch/inch and a half) and gets even closer around tables, chairs, or walls (maybe an inch or less). It never got stuck anywhere. During the initial mapping it shimmed itself into a small crevice under a bed that was barely big enough for it to fit, went exploring, and came out the other side full of dust with a story of adventure. I gave my two year old roomba to my daughter and bought this one to replace it. I ran my older roomba twice over my house then ran the new roomba. The new roomba's bin was half full which prooved this model cleans better. It was very easy to set up and is controlled by an app. I've ran this roomba for some time now and I am 100% satified. I read some reviews that this roomba had problems finding the home station but I have not experienced that. I would highly recommend this roomba.mcqueenslm

Our roomba worked great… at first. About 6 months in it started being finicky and eventually moved on to bothersome. By about the 10 month mark we were cleaning sensors, vacuuming it out, and tinkering with it non stop. At month 13 it stopped altogether and we called irobot. We wasted hours on hold, explaining and re-explaining, and even taking videos only to have them deny any help. My wife explained that we hadn't even been using it for a year because I had bought it on Black Friday and she opened it Christmas morning. They had the audacity to tell her I should have bought it closer to Christmas. They "offered" to have someone try to fix it for $130 which I have to assume was the full freight. I bought this vacuum 2 years ago. My house is a busy place where dirt is tracked in daily. This machine is used daily and has greatly increased the cleanliness of our house. Naturally it makes me very happy to have a helper that does the sweeping and vacuuming daily for me! The machine did stop charging for a while until I googled the problem. All Roomba's need the charging sensors underneath the machine cleaned and the dirt sensor under the brushes cleaned every 3 months. After cleaning the sensors (as well as vacuuming the filter) the Roomba was ready to roll. Great product that I highly recommend.esend

I purchased the J7 after I decided to retire my few years old Roborock S4 to the basement and get some newer technology. If the J7 was my first robot vacuum purchase I would probably be happy. But when compared to my previous one this has too many annoying problems. Let me start with what it does better. First, it really is a good-looking vacuum. Much nicer than the homely S4. Next, the amount of pet hair and dirt it collects is at least 30% better than the S4. So isn't that what a vacuum is supposed to do? Vacuum? Why 3 stars? Because it only finishes a cleaning job 50% of the time. Reviewing the last 30 cleaning jobs on the app, only 14 finished. There are way too many issues that require my intervention to get a finished job. It sucks up objects it is supposed to avoid, brushes get stuck with pet hair, doesn't dock properly so not charged for next job, strands itself because it didn't recognize no-go zone, etc. It is rare I need to help along the S4 except to empty the much larger dust bin or clean the washable filter (which the Roomba does not have). I wouldn't say I totally regret this purchase but given the opportunity to do it again I would go with another Roborock. BTW, as I write this review the Roomba has not cleaned in 6 days while I wasn't home. Battery was dead sitting on the charging dock.BretLee

I purchased this unit yesterday for the 2nd floor of my home. I have removed all of the carpet throughout and just have ceramic tile on the 1st floor and vinyl plank on the 2nd floor. Purchased this i4 for the 2nd floor and only use it in my bedroom right now. After 18 minutes of use (the time it took to vacuum my bedroom), it redocked. Decided to try out the Google command to vacuum again 15 minutes later and received error 26 that I needed to remove debris. There was next to no debris in it as I had vacuumed manually prior to the 1st run. I haven't been able to get the error to go away, even after washing out the bin and checking everything. I even tried the reboot to clear the error. Nothing works. Been trying to figure it out for hours. Shouldn't break after 18 minutes of light use!Travis

We have had the cleaning base replaced and still issues with it not connecting or not charging. It works great when it does work but I am soooo tired of having to trouble shoot this thing. For the price, I wish it worked betterSLW

I've had a few robot vacuums over the past few years. I've tried the big names like Neato D-Vacs / Roombas ($400-$700 range) and I found that while they had great suction power and capacity, their navigation abilities made them useless. All the cleaning power in the world means nothing if your robot vacuum never makes it back to it's base to charge and you're stuck hunting for it to carry it home everyday. I got this Eufy G30 Verge on a special buy price of $169 down from the usual $350, and it absolutely blows all of the other robot vacuums I've tried out of the water. It's very deceiving when you first fire it up since it's extremely thin and makes very little noise. I actually tried feeding it a couple dust bunnies to make sure it was on because it was so quiet. Despite this, 30mins into letting it map my house, I had to empty the dust bin because it was full….. with dust and hair (as seen in the pic)…. that was still on my floor without me being able to see it after manually vacuuming the day before. It ran for about an hour and generated a full map of my 1000 square foot condo before heading back directly to it's dock to charge. You can watch it generate the map using the app, and you can see that it uses that map to navigate your home perfectly. It moved in clean lines and then shot to areas of the condo that had missing boundaries on the map to fill in the data. Its very clear watching this bot move that it's far more intelligent than non-mapping bots, especially those that just bump around forever. SUMMARY The compact and stylish Eufy G30 Verge is the king of navigating homes and always making it back to its dock. While it may lack the power and capacity of some of it's larger robot vacuum rivals such as the Neato D-Bot or Samsung models, it is more than capable of ridding your low-pile carpet and hard floors of hair and dust. Although I wouldn't recommend this for homes with operating areas larger than 1000 square feet or large levels of hair and debris like food, this is the perfect bot vac for areas less than 1000 square feet that is generally clean but you would like to maintain. This isn't a miracle worker that can deep clean your floors, but with a price tag of under $200 it's an absolute steal.Alex

I usually love the brand, Eufy. I have had two now. My first one is the first edition and it lasted a few years before it started to be really loud. It still sucked (literally sucked, not it was bad, sucked), but was too loud. So, I bought this one to replace my old one. I put my old one upstairs and kept this one downstairs. First off, it was a fantastic robot. It sucked everything up really well! It was really quiet and really fast. I keep really good care of everything I own. So, I regularly cleaned the filter and cleaned the wheels and did maintenance on to keep it going good. The warranty ran out at 12 months and at 13-14 months my little robot stopped sucking as well and became really loud. I contacted the Eufy corporate office and they told me a bunch of things to do to help the robot. So, I cleaned everything again and the problem stayed the same. I replied again and they offered me a discount. I explained that I think I might have a faulty one because my other one has lasted for years. Also, I did not want to buy another one for it to stop working at 13 months. They then offered a replacement kit, which contained brushes. I already had bought brand new brushes and I knew that this was not the problem. It stopped sucking up debris, so brushes were not what I needed. I explained all of this to them and they said that there warranty is for 12 months and I can honor the discount and that is all they can do. They and I were very polite to each other, but we just do not agree. I normally only review if an item was good, but I just did not want someone else to buy this and have it not work one to two months after the warranty runs out.CJ

So impressed. I am not paid or given a free bot for this review. I researched for 4 months and settled on this model by Shark. I don't know why people are claiming that this robot marks walls it comes close but does not touch them in fact if it sees a object it slows down till it maneuvers around it. Everything advertised it does and does excellent. The app is very easy to use. People complain about the app but I think they are using cheap phones or tablets. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this unit, I watched tests between roombas and eufys and all the the robot vacuums that could self empty at twice to three times the shark was nothing is close. The main thing was all the other company's use Vslam and cameras for guidance they can not see in the dark and basically go in random action like a bump and go toy, Not this Shark that uses lidar which is a invisible rotating Laser for guidance it is perfect and works even in the dark. I had to laugh roombas latest self empty has a white spotlight led mounted above its camera so it can clean without bright sun or the lights on. So you can pay 1400.00 for the vslam spotlight robot or 500.00 for the shark and have 3yr vip warranty with latest tech and row by row cleaning, and individual room cleaning. I also want to point out that after it does a room row by row when it finishes that it goes all the way back around the border of that room. Suction power is excellent on max, but you can choose between eco, norm and max in the app. You can choose to have it go back to empty every 30 minutes and it will go right back where it left off. I never have had it not find the base or had to go find it. I know it can be frustrating when trying to decide on which robot vacuum to buy. Do yourself a favor and buy one if you don't like it they have a 90 Day return policy and the customer service is awesome and they do care.Speedracer

One Year since purchase of our RV1101 (the 2502's previous generation model). I am completely satisfied with our Shark AI self emptying vacuum! 2 Labradors and a cat in our 2400sq foot home ensure that it has plenty of hair and dirt to contend with and it accomplishes its duties admirably. While the literature indicates "Up to 30 days" between emptying the base dirt receptacle, under these conditions that is a ridiculous expectation! Empty it daily until you determine for yourself how long it takes to fill it based on your actual home cleaning requirements if you have pet's in your home! That said, this is an incredibly good tool for keeping a home as clean as possible when shedding dogs are a part of your life. Other than emptying the dust bin every 1-2 days, it only requires washing the foam base filter once weekly and thoroughly cleaning the robot and base including vacuuming out the filters every 2-4 weeks. A truly minimal amount of time and effort required for a remarkable result. Getting "stuck" is a very rare occurrence if you follow the instructions for preparing your home. The "Empty and Resume" and "Recharge and Resume" features are what enable the Shark robot to accomplish it's duties in a home this size, Every day it's full cycle runs for over 4 hours to fully clean our home including 4 clean and dump cycles and a full recharge cycle (2 hours) after the 2nd dump following the first hour of operation. This includes the time it spends "Going Back" to clean any area where it expects to clean but may have been prevented from doing so on it's first attempt due to being obstructed by frequently moved furniture or a lazy old dog that refuses to move for "that pesky robot" (yes the old dog will just lay there despite being bumped repeatedly). All in all a fantastic cleaning machine! PS. Buy additional foam filters right away so you can have 2 in weekly rotation so you NEVER put a damp filter back in the base!krazybob

As soon as I received the Shark AI Robot Vacuum I wanted to set it up immediately in our open concept kitchen, dining and living area. All laminate flooring. I thought that the set-up might be a bit complicated for me but Shark has made the set-up and operation of this vacuum very user freindly. Even before opening the box, I was able to take my smart phone and scan the QRCode on the outside of the box and download the app. Step by step instructions guide you through the vaccum set-up process. (The most complicated task I had to do was go to my internet provider's app and enable the 2.4Ghz setting on our router, which is required for the Wifi connection) The set-up process includes sending the robot vacuum out for a mapping of the area to be cleaned. I was amazed that after just about 10 minutes the entire area was mapped out. Afterwards, I went to the app to look at the map and saw an accurate representation of my rooms, down to the footprint of a column seperating the rooms. The schedule tool allows for scheduling the vacuum to run whatever time, whatever day and however many days a week. It also records a history of those past scheduled cleanings and represents on the map the areas cleaned. I am definitely using the Ultraclean feature of the vacuum. This feature enables highlighting on the map, heavy traffic areas, or in our case the areas of the floor in front of the sink, around the island and the area in front of the stairs. The vacuum spends extra time cleaning these areas during the scheduled cleanings. I have also taken advantage of the spot cleaning feature. This feature enables you to highlight a spot on the map and have the vaccum clean only that spot without the vacuum doing an entire cleaning. After any cleaning that vacuum performs , the vacuum returns to the self empty base. Quite honestly, this Shark robot vacuum has too many features to list here in my review. The technology packed into this vacuum is amazing. Shark has developed an app that has all the support anyone could need. There is a printed instruction manual for viewing, there are seven videos available for viewing and there is the Shark Customer Care support available by phone. After running our Shark robot vacuum for about three weeks, I only have great things to say about this cleaning tool.maz6878

I have hardwood floors and I simply want roomba to do a quick daily run on the high traffic areas (kitchen, high traffic passage/hall, and entrance). The whole area is roughly 800 sqf. I have change the settings to custom do that it does 1 run per area so that it's "as quick as possible", yet it takes about 1 hour to do 280 sqf, and that's if it doesn't get stuck. Every single day it manages to get stuck in the most stupid way possible. On the rare days it decides to do the entire job it also finds a way to screw up. As you can see in the attached picture, one day it decided it needed to clean my neighbor's house. So it happens that NY neighbor has the same iRobot model and we think somehow they were trying to get together for a good night out. The dumbest part of all? Now that route is permanently part of my map and the only way to erase it is to start from scratch again…. I can't believe the software doesn't allow for manual modifications to correct the dumbest "smart" appliance ever created. Another incredible aspect of this useless piece of junk is that it's built to run with the lights on. The camera that's on top of it, does not see well in darkness so you absolutely have to run roomba during the day of with the lights on!! Another annoying thing about this is that every 1 or 2 months it simply decides that it won't do the daily run for no apparent reason, so every time I have to press the clean bottom for 20 seconds to remind it that I actually do not like dog hair on the floors. Ling story short, do not buy this model. Even if you win it on a raffle, don't hesitate to give it away!!!! The sad part is that when it runs, it actually does a decent job on the hardwood floors. The thing is that it takes too long and only finishes about 2% of the job required. Like I mentioned before, my neighbor has the same model and he is equally as dissatisfied with it as I'm!Ricardo

I have had this robot for a year and it has been the worst purchase I've mad. The robot is completely infuriating. So let's start with the price – at the given price point I should be doing maintenance on this this only when brushes or bags need to be changed. It needs weekly cleaning and troubleshooting. The regular vacuum I purchased following this purchase (due to continued requests to return, and constant emails because this robot, has literally worked less than 9 times this entire year on command) requires me to empty it once a month with once a week use. The app is flaky at best and the robot almost never responds to it. Even though my virtual assistants can get it to at least make noise. Not to mention it's loud – all the time. Loud when emptying the bin, loud when running and loud when docking. The bin never empty's as designed so I always have to manually do it, with new bags old ones or anything. I thought it may have been clogged but my new vacuum pulled nothing. Operation is so infuriating, I can't stand to use this item that was supposed the make my life easier! The mapping is awful, and if you try to fix it to help the robot, you'll spend hours to discover that the adjustment only last as long as the robot doesn't run again! When the battery gets low, it never goes back to the base and because the battery is dead I have to search and find it. My smart home is set to turn the lights on when it's scheduled to o run, to help it "see", and it still manages to not be able to find its way back. To make matters worse, the lights were set to go off when the robot redocks – luckily they still went off after an the robot died. I could go on and on about the sink hole of money you will spend on accessories, and the time you will waist troubleshooting nothing, but I would say – just don't waist your money, spend it on a Dyson or Bissell!Shay

This is our first foray into the world of Robot vacuums and must say I personally am blown away by it. We have owned it for the last one month or so. We chose the S9+ iRobot Roomba since based on my research, it is the best robotic vacuum at this time. So far it has fit this bill perfectly. The installation was very simple and my daughter did it since she was so super excited about it that she would not wait up for me. So by the time I got to it, she had already installed it and kept it ready to go. We put in the laundry room and it does not take much space. We started the mapping run on day one of installation. It took a good 5-6 hours and we had a bit of doubt as to what exactly it was doing. But apparently this robot learns and now we have a daily schedule that vacuums the most frequently areas which it finishes in an hour and 10-12 mins like clock work. We have tiles on the first floor with carpet in two rooms. The vacuum switches from tile to carpet mode effortlessly. The vacuum’s suction (S9+ has the highest suction in current range of iRobot vaccums) seems just right. I am amazed at how the vacuum navigates itself through the maze in your house. The careful drive feature does work and it does not bump into objects. Also it seems to clean in areas that our usual vacuum does not reach. Although my wife would occasionally sweeps the floor to bring dirt from under normally stationary objects like sofa etc, it is not needed everyday. For the daily quick clean, make sure though that there are no dangling wires that may get entangled in the vacuum or any clothes. The vacuum can get stuck if there are clothes lying around. We do “clean everywhere “ deep clean on the weekends and that job finishes in about 5 years. If I had to suggest improvements, I would say somehow if they can make it more quieter in future, it would be awesome. Also I know this is asking too much, but if it can do stairs and go on second floor too. 🙂 Little bit regarding the Mop. We were debating whether we should buy the Vacuum and Mop combo but decided to go for it since Bestbuy was giving a nice discount on the combo during the Black Friday sale. The mop does a decent job, is very quiet and even tells you if you forget to fill the cleaning fluid. It takes a long time though so if anything, that is what I would ask for improvement. I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC
