This was the 16th rug pad I have bought over the last 15 years and it is by far and away the best. Unlike the picture, it came ROLLED UP like carpet (not folded and full of creases). It is thick and well bonded, smooth and soft on the floor side and rough and very grippy on the carpet side. Not sure if we were sent the incorrect pad as it looks absolutely nothing like the photo on this page but the thing sheds ridiculously. So much so that I, despite washing my eyes and nose out in shower, woke up with both eyes sealed shut from fibers, eyes red and burning. I tried calling Saturday during the hours the shipping paper said they were open, but a recording said they were closed. Also, had to spend the entire weekend, cleaning up the tiny sticky fibers from everything, had to buy lint removers to get fibers off bedspread and carpets (shaking out, washing and vacuuming didn't work because lots of the fibers are fuzzy and don't come off unless hand pulled) – it's still all over and I'm sneezing away – and I'm not the sensitive type. I was thrilled to be finally ordering high quality rug pads so I can reassemble my dining and living rooms after getting new vinyl plank floors. The pads look like they would have been nice, if I could have used them. They were delivered on my exposed porch right before a thunderstorm. There was no plastic wrapping around the pads inside the box to protect them. In addition, UPS did not bag the outside of the box (as is usually done when things are delivered on rainy days). Just a big roll of heavy felt in a thin cardboard box. I came home to find the box dripping wet and falling apart, and the pads inside wet. I've spread them out best I can on a tarp to let them dry, but I'm concerned about possible damage to the pads and to my floors. I bought this pad to use under an outdoor rug in an enclosed sun porch. It had just the right amount of thickness, and seemed to be a good quality product. After about a week, we decided to bring the carpet and pad indoors, as Tropical Storm Florence was headed our way. When we lifted the pad, parts of it had stuck to the floor! There were about 15 spots, each the size of a silver dollar, spaced over an 8 x 10 area. After I scraped them all off, adhesive was still stuck to the floor. I tried using rubbing alcohol to get it off, but ended up using Goof-Off gunk and adhesive remover gel, which slightly damaged the floor. Hayneedle was really great about giving me a refund, but I would not recommend this carpet pad. Maybe the one I received was defective, but I would suggest that anyone who purchased this pad should lift it up to make sure that parts of it are not stuck to the floor.Lyn
DO NOT PURCHASE unless you enjoy a disgusting foul smell throughout your entire house. A smell you just can't get rid of. I completely regret getting this item; it is beyond bad smelling. I can't prove it, but I wanted an 10×13 pad and am sure that is what I ordered. It came as a 8×10. The quality and everything is very good….just the wrong size. I have tried other anti-slip mats to go under a living room rug but the rug would still slip off the mat or the whole thing would slip. This one is thick and soft compared to the cheaper options but it’s not too thick to make you trip over the rug either. My rug has not slipped but maybe an inch or two over an extended period of time and with high use (dog, kids playing).Kelly
I've tried everything to keep my rugs from sliding all over the wood floors and this is the best one yet. I have two very large, hyper dogs who regularly go skiing on my rugs. Thankfully, this product ended that. I was leery about purchasing this pad as I've tried other pads that look identical to this one, but they never worked. This pad works!
