We purchased this felt-and rubber padding for two 8 x 10 KAS brand area rugs from Hayneedle. We are very satisfied with the combination of pad and rug. Ours was put down over laminate wood flooring to prevent slipping and to add some bounce to the rugs, and we are very satisfied with the result. The pads had to be cut to size, and we made them about 2.5 inches smaller all around than the rugs, to be sure the edges of the rugs laid as close to the floor as possible. The pad was slightly shorter than the length of the rug, but wider, so we cut a bit off of the width and duct taped the offcut to the length. The splice has held together well. The pad maker's instructions said the pad could be cut with scissors, but that proved not to be true. We used a box knife with a new blade instead. It made a good clean cut and was easy to control. We would recommend this pad, but buy the rugs from Hayneedle first, then use the "points" from that purchase to reduce the cost of the pads in a separate purchase. That brought the cost of the pads down dramatically for us.Charles

Purchased for new home-installed in January. Rug very pretty – size is great for room. But it stinks very badly. I even called plumber back to house thinking we had a plumbing issue but nothing. This pad stays in place on my hard wood floor, but the rug itself slides across the top. It has a rough surface, so it seems like the underside of the rug would grip, but it doesn't. I first purchased the cheapy, honeycomb latex rug pad at a big box store, for my wool, living room area rug. It worked great for about a year before it started disintegrating. I decided to look a little harder this time round and was very happy, after finding similar products to this for more mullah, at big box stores, that Target carried this for a good price. I bought this two months ago to go under a couple of new rugs. I chose it because it is a bit thicker than other options. It works well under a taupe rug. It is more noticeable under the Avoriaz rug, where the outline of the thicker rug pad shows 3 inches in all around from the edge of the rug. It is the light color of the rug and no pattern that creates the line. I would still buy this pad for under our taupe rug but would choose a thinner pad for the Avoriaz.
