This was the 16th rug pad I have bought over the last 15 years and it is by far and away the best. Unlike the picture, it came ROLLED UP like carpet (not folded and full of creases). It is thick and well bonded, smooth and soft on the floor side and rough and very grippy on the carpet side. It is also much easier to cut (with a knife) and does not shred or tear or come apart like some other pads. Hoping to buy many more in the future.ratfinch
I was really disappointed after receiving this rug pad I bought for a large area rug. The pad was more than twice the price of other pads and thicker. However, when we put it on the hardwood floor underneath our area rug, there was no difference than when we had the rug just on the hardwood floor. I have a senior pup who has trouble on our hardwood floors. He also has trouble getting outside to the bathroom occasionally. So I bought very lightweight rugs that could be machine washed. We tried the Premium-Lock 1/3 and 7/16 pads. I think they measure a little thinner than advertised, but they are very, very good rug pads. Our 9×11 rug is on the thinner side, so we went with the 7/16 which feels about right to us. We were looking for the best quality pad on the market and compared many brands. My wife likes the RugPads Premium-Lock best. I'm still a little partial to a different leading brand, but that one isn't thick enough for my liking, so I think we ended up with the best product for our needs. Customer Service !!!! This was probably the best customer service experience from any company I have ever worked with. When the pad arrived, I had questions/concerns. I called Karl at the number included in the packing materials. I'm pretty sure the call was forwarded to his cell because it sounded a little windy and was around lunch time. That was very nice, compared to leaving a message and wondering how many hours or days it might be before a return call. Even halfway through my concern, Karl started bending over backwards to make sure I was a satisfied customer. It was clear that his goal was to have a very happy customer no matter what. I bought 4 custom cut sizes of this pad for 4 various types and sizes of handmade rugs in my home. I am an interior designer and have to source rug pads for clients frequently. This purchase was a sort of test to see if we could find a good quality, mid-grade rug pad made with natural materials that could serve as a nice cost effective solution for clients who do not want to spend several hundred dollars on every rug pad throughout their home. Buying top of the line rug pads for your most highly trafficked and quality rugs is essential, but not necessarily for the lesser used rugs such as a guest room, stair landing or bedside. These rug pads work great for what we were searching for; a plush feeling under a flat weave rug. Admittedly, I was a bit disappointed when first unrolling the pads – they were flat, almost deflated looking, and not as finished on the edges as I am used to seeing – HOWEVER- after 2 days of these being installed, they have become less compacted from travel and feel very nice underfoot. Needed a rug pad for a beni ourain area rug that kept bunching up on my hardwood floor. This rug pad now keeps it flat and in place. I do agree with some other reviewers that this pad might be better for larger/heavier rugs as the rubber backing doesn't grip to the floor and I can see how small rugs would still slide. The issue that I have with the pad though is that it is not as cushiony as expected… it seems to be deflated/flattened almost. No structure to it. I was really hoping for even more cushion to the rug but feel no difference. I actually purchased a 1/8" RugpadUSA pad through another store a while ago and compared the two and they are exactly the same, though my other one feels like it has more structure and cushion to it. I measured and they are both slightly thinner than 1/4". This was the perfect rug pad for me and the rug I used it with (which I also bought from Houzz). . . The rubber side is sticky enough that the carpet doesn’t slide, but not so sticky that you can’t move it around if you need to make adjustments. . . When looking at the this picture and reading the description of the item, you would expect to receive a felted item without any glues, adhesives, or bonding agents. The item received doesn't look like this picture at all but if you scroll through all the pictures, it does look like the last one picture. The rug pad has no odor. There is some kind of a bonding agent on this (see 2nd picture) and I'm hoping that it doesn't cause harm to my wood floors as I have chosen to put that side down. Information on which side goes down should be included with the product or in the description. The product feels more like a batting with a glue type backing than a felt. Iv'e tried a lot products like this over the years and some have worked really well, others not so much. I'm happy with this one because it does what it promises. We have carpet in our bedrooms, but the rest of the houses wood floors. In New England that means we need something at every doorway and in winter, large area rugs. We do have cats and a dog who loves to get a running start to "sled" on the smaller rugs we use. I can't tell you how funny it was to see her confused expression when she couldn't slide anymore! These grippers really grip! A simple wipe with a damp cloth if they start to lose any grip and they're good as new again. Vacuuming small rugs can be a chore, but now it's so easy. They stay put and you don't need to stand on one side of the rug to hold it down. Cleaning underneath is also not a problem. Like I said, a simple swipe with a damp cloth and you can stick the rug back in place after cleaning the floor. Because the rugs stay in place, there's really not a lot to clean underneath, but of course with pets there's always some fur that gets under there. Excellent product that's easy to install. I have a small rug I keep in front of a hutch that has a microwave on it in our kitchen. It's nice to have the padding since our tile kitchen floor can be cold, also our dog likes to lay on it. The rug was constantly moving out of place every time we stepped on it. I tried these Ledgebay non-slip rug pads and it hasn't moved an inch since I applied them! The package of 9 came with easy instructions on how to place the strips in each corner of the rug and they give you 1 extra just in case. I can't believe how much I like these rug grippers. I used to use the rubbery pad under rugs, and it never worked well; rugs still slipped, moved around, and were unsafe due to slipping on them. I have a lot of smaller rugs on tile and hardwood, and I applied the gripper in each corner of the carpet, and it does not move at all, not even in the heavy traffic areas. It is easy to apply; one side is for the rug and the other the floor; it is labeled. Put the gripper in place, and you all set. I messed up placement and needed to pick up, and reposition and the gripper came off the floor with no residue, and it stuck back and held.Christina

We purchased this felt-and rubber padding for two 8 x 10 KAS brand area rugs from Hayneedle. We are very satisfied with the combination of pad and rug. Ours was put down over laminate wood flooring to prevent slipping and to add some bounce to the rugs, and we are very satisfied with the result. The pads had to be cut to size, and we made them about 2.5 inches smaller all around than the rugs, to be sure the edges of the rugs laid as close to the floor as possible. The pad was slightly shorter than the length of the rug, but wider, so we cut a bit off of the width and duct taped the offcut to the length. The splice has held together well. The pad maker's instructions said the pad could be cut with scissors, but that proved not to be true. We used a box knife with a new blade instead. It made a good clean cut and was easy to control. We would recommend this pad, but buy the rugs from Hayneedle first, then use the "points" from that purchase to reduce the cost of the pads in a separate purchase. That brought the cost of the pads down dramatically for us.Charles
Arrived on time and was well packaged. It is a little thinner than expected so even though it was rolled up tightly, it flattened quickly on the floor. A rug pad should be used for sure on hard surfaces. The colors are many and bright. We have a navy blue, a turquoise blue, some pink and even a little green. The pile is soft underfoot. Only a week here, the rug hasn’t had any spots to be cleaned yet. We bought it to be used with heavy dog traffic so we will see.PRoberts
The thickness of the pad is just perfect and it muffles sounds from the apartment next door. It also makes my Karastan rug look so much more elegant and full. I have tried other anti-slip mats to go under a living room rug but the rug would still slip off the mat or the whole thing would slip. This one is thick and soft compared to the cheaper options but it’s not too thick to make you trip over the rug either. My rug has not slipped but maybe an inch or two over an extended period of time and with high use (dog, kids playing).Kelly
I've tried everything to keep my rugs from sliding all over the wood floors and this is the best one yet. I have two very large, hyper dogs who regularly go skiing on my rugs. Thankfully, this product ended that. I was leery about purchasing this pad as I've tried other pads that look identical to this one, but they never worked. This pad works!
