this works or I did something right in installation following instructions. Would have rated 5 but want to wait much longer to see how it holds up. I placed the tape on porch areas to hold down rugs regular runner, piece of area rug, and pieces of grass looking rug carper pieces. It is very sticky I think taking my time to clean porch with soap bottle mix with water and rubbing with towels allowing drying time. Taking the time out and sitting closer to the floor of the porch. I started out late (procrastinating putting off) got some of the rug pieces applied with this tape. Im in the mid west it is cold so what didnt get done may not until warmer weather. Even if there was good adhesion, application should not take extras minutes to peel off the backing. Paying more per meter for a better product is worth it for small jobs. I bought this tape to mount pictures, as I am opposed to making nails holes in my walls, that have to be filled in later. I have to say this tape works wonders. Using the tape can be tricky because it is double sided and sticks to the fingers. However, when placed on the wall surfaced , I used it on, it adhered nicely. Suctioned on so I was able to free fingers to place my pictures securely. My pictures have been hanging for about two weeks. In both a home setting, as well as professionally, I have used quite a few brands of double sided tape in the past. Most of what I use double sided tape for is in a professional IT setting, for temporarily holding AV splitters, cable junctions, components, ETC while I prepare permanent locations. That said this is the first time I have used Double Sided Duck Tape and am very impressed with the results. From first glance this looks very similar to standard grey Duck brand tape from the bottom and it works and sticks just like the Duck tape we have all become familiar with. Even though the blue adhesive cover looks untearable, the whole of the tape is as easily torn along the grid lines as regular Duck tape. The adhesive seems to be very similar in strength as normal Duck tape so it holds well while being relatively easily removed. In essence I can see myself using Double Sided Duck Tape a lot going forward as it works as well if not better than many of the other double sided brands I have used in the past!BlackOmega
Sometimes there are projects that I would want a double sided tape for, but would need a stronger or thicker type. I was excited to see there is now double sided duck tape, and to now have that strength in a double sided tape. The roll is wide enough to be able to cut small pieces if needed. For my first project with this, I was adding ribbon/decor to a mini crate. I cut the strip to size for the crate, then cut it in half lengthwise for strips the same size as the ribbon and crate pieces. The hold is good, and seeing this says ideal for temporary projects I waited a few days and tested removing the ribbon. It started coming off okay, as for the crate, I'm pretty sure it would always be on there, or at least part would. I think the hold being temporary depends on what it is applied to.EmilyH

I was hopeful that this product would help my rugs stay put, but it was a waste of time and money. Perhaps if you had a very slippery rug on a highly polished wooden floor, it might make a difference, but for a rug with a rough back on a smooth cement floor, it did nothing. I have used this for years; it's great! If your rug backing is CLEAN, it adheres fine to jute, rubber, etc. The side touching the floor does not have adhesive, but the foam is very soft, so it sticks well to tile, laminate, polished wood, etc. I use it on throw rugs and door mats on tile and laminate floors, and my 40- dogs run across it without it moving. Since there is no adhesive on the bottom, it picks up easily for sweeping, vacuuming or mopping. It lasts several years – eventually dirt or sand becomes stuck to the soft foam and it starts slipping. When replacing, it peels off the rug easily and there is no residue on the floor to scrape off. Works much better than the rubber "non-slip" mats and much less messy than double-backed tape. The reviewers who gave it one star did not use it as directed. This was easy to use and seemed to do a great job on the first day. By the second my carpet underneath had started creeping away from the walls ? On lifting the top carpet I found the double sided rape gad melted on to the carpet underneath (hence the 3 star rating). Used under a floor rug on top of carpet. Laid strips of shipping tape on the carpet first. Adhered floor rug with 2-sided tape attached, to the shipping tape laid on the carpet. Did it this way because the two-sided tape is extremely sticky, so if and when I need to move or change the floor rug, there will be no damage to the carpet.wathart

This double-sided is very difficult to use as it bunches up when exposed. As a result, unable to apply it in a straight line underneath the area rug. I would not recommend this tape. In addition, there is a warning about being exposed to chemicals that may or may not cause cancer.Thelma
This is some strong super sticking double sided tape. I used it to cover a board with 10 separate carpet step remnants for my mini daschund. Both my dogs have run, romped, played, raced, wrestled on this ramp and the tape has held the carpet pieces in perfect place. I see no reason it won't hold until the carpet is worn out, but I have a very big roll of it, so no worries.Kathy

I used this for holding down a plastic runner in a high traffic area and it works great. I also used it for holding down some stubborn corners on a couple of rugs. It worked really well for one but not the one that my kids keep pulling up and playing with, but I totally blame my kids on that one. This does what it's supposed to do.Danni
this worked great for my runner carpet in my hallway, but for a small entryway rug it didn't stick at all. It may be due to the small rug having a rubber backing vs. the runner being wool. Just need to pay attention what kind of carpet backing your carpet has to know if it will work. If it's a wool carpet, it will probably work great.nsc1
