After reading the labels of this and another dangerous product and considering I am working in an enclose garage running heater in the winter. I wend with Corroseal. Water based and minimal health hazards as well as non flammable. I used in on my Tacoma for the outside and easier to get to areas but used Eastwood inner frame rust encapsulater for inside of the frame where I couldn't do any prep. As for prep I started with a grinder, wire wheels, and wire brushes. The worked OK but I tried the HF small needle scaler was the best tool. It was less messy and could get into much tighter spots. It does use a lot of air to do a whole truck but that's why I bought a big compressor. I did call the manufacturer about if Corroseal needed a topcoat. It looks so nice after application. They told me after 4-6 months it will start to flake without a top coal. So I am coating it with Al's Bedliner. Perhaps a little overkill but I keep my vehicles for decades and this little supercharged 4wdTacoma is getting a complete HP makeover and I wanted the Frame to be well protected. There is a frame recall on them and this TX truck has moved into snow country.taildragontamer
It works on surface rust that can be easily treated or removed by light sanding or even a soak in vinegar. But on deeply rusted and pitted metal it makes matter worse. It traps rust under a layer of hard plastic coat and it is only a matter of time before the rust breaks out again to the surface after it has done a lot of deep unrecoverable damage to the core of the metal. If you are looking for a temporary beauty coat that is skin deep this will work for few weeks, but it is definitely not a preventative rust agent or a permanent solution to restore rusted metal. After years of driving on winter roads with all the salts and chemicals sifted out, the underneath of my vehicle looked completely rusted so badly that the rear shackles rotted and the rear just disconnected from the frame. After repairing the shackles I used Corroseal on the undercarrage . I inspected it a week later (after allowing it to work). Amazing! Looks almost like new again. I was very pleased with the results. I bought this for the underside of a rusting lawn mower. I brushed it on. I am unsure of how well it's going to work as it did NOT turn the rust black as I am told it should. It also took a few days to dry–but this could be due to the cold temps in my basement. I read on line that I should not have poured back unused portions into the container. I have a lot of problems with the rest of my RV trailer frame. I tried rust remover's and they didn't work very well, I tried this stuff and it works great! I prepped the rusted steel areas to be treated with the Rust-Reformer product by first scrubbing it with SOS pads, then rinsing, then scraping more heavily rusted areas to remove "rust bumps and flakes" then wire brushing all rusted areas. The product is easy to apply and clean-up is a breeze since it is water-based. It goes on white and gradually changes over to black as it dries. After one coat, I was surprised and disappointed to see that under direct sunlight areas of rust colored metal were visible under the first coat of the product in the same areas where scrapping removed the "rust bump and flakes." Apparently scrapping and wire brushing are not sufficient to properly prep the deeply rusted areas. Had I known, I would have fired up my palm sander to take the heavily rusted areas down to almost bare metal. Where the rust was slight/superficial. the product did indeed convert the rust to a black inert surface. Too bad its penetrating power isn't up to snuff for more heavily rusted areas. Additional coats of the product over the the areas that had deeper rust did not penetrate the first coat and left the rusted areas visible under two coats when viewing under direct, full sun. So be prepared to really prep the surfaces if you have anything BUT shallow, surface rust only.FeO2

Cures rock solid,very durable. Looks best over rough pitted surfaces, it builds up 6 mils in two coats,it really fills in defects. On smooth surfaces it tends to leave brush marks. Also dont apply heavy, it will leave a rough texture where the vapor builds up and breaks through. This stuff really coats well in one coat. Go to the rust bullet wenbsite and read all the application notes. Appplied during 22% humidity, 60 deg. I have used rust conversion primers since the 1980's and until now every brand I used worked as it should. This time it was utter frustration. 1. It sprayed just awful. Very heavy and spitting. Impossible to apply a light coat. 2. It did not convert the rust scale all the way through. 3. It did not turn black uniformly on the bare metal. Rust conversion primers typically will cure to a nice satin black sheen. 4. It is not sandible. Could not feather the edges. 5. Absolutely terrible adhesion to the metal. After over-coating with primer for surface prep, I masked and applied top coat. When I removed the tape (the best 3M sells) the primer and rust conversion primer came off with the tape down to bare metal. 6. Reacts to primer and topcoat solvents creating a visible scalloped feather edge. I had to sand the pieces back down to bare metal and start over. I had purchased two cans and both acted exactly as I described. Any other brand should be okay.Smartcows
This is excellent for spot repairs of rusty metal to keep it from getting worse before actual body work or metal is done. Used it to do so on the 2 small rust spots on the hatch of my 1982 Celica. This area is the most prone to corrosion piece on the whole car, hence they are almost impossible to find rust free. Used it to prep body rust due to road salt. I have tried other products, with poor results, rust back through paint in a year. This seems more promising. It converted the rust, and as it happened, I had to leave it that way for a week of rain before I could do primer and color. No new rust, no bubbles, it held up perfectly. You will want to clean up over-spray quickly with a solvent. Once it dries on paint, it's on there for good, leaving a black hue. Common sense really. I first tried Rust Shield years ago when I was in the auto body business; it held up quite well in some harsh environments. The last can I had was gloss black which looked out of place in some applications; for example, where I painted the floor of my trunk it looks wet as if the seal leaked. Use this product mainly used on my white marine detroit diesels installed in a 48 sport fish. Does a good job sealing rusty bolts and bronze corrossion from salt water use. Only draw back is it goes on thin which requires two coats when you first open the can. With the second use or prolong first use the sealer becomes thick from drying in the can which makes it almost unusable. Recomend using all the product as fast as you can and at one time. Dont purchase more product then can be used in one application. Purchase multiple small cans if needed. Brush and rags are throw away when finished. If you take too long you will need a second brush as the product starts to harden immediately upon contact with the air. Product gives a medium grade finish and is sandable. Do not expect a paint finish. This is more of a primer/ sealer finish. Perfect for marine engines and components. This review was written after my second order.Greg

If you have rusted tools or anything you want rust off I think this will do it. If you can wrap it in plastic or cover it with plastic after applying this it should take the rust off. I read reviews of this product and was a little skeptical of getting it. I've tried other products before without much luck. I acquired some very rusted tools from my late father's estate. Some were put outside and sat for a week or so in a pan that had rained in it. I figured they were ruined but wanted to try to save them. Some were from the 50's and built strong and I remember him using them. I read the directions on the rust remover. I wrapped papertowels around the tools and poured enough remover on them to saturate them. I used blue shot towels due to their durability. Rags would be better yet. Then wrapped them in old bread sacks. Repurpose/reuse. I let them set 24 hours because I forgot about them. I checked the tools and a lot of the rust was gone. I took an old rag and wiped more rust off. Not satisfied that they were completely rust free I wrapped then back up, added a little more remover and let them be for another 24 hours. This time very little rust was left. The part i didn't like after using this was I then had to rinse the remover off with water. Flash rust was a good possibility so I blew the tools off with compressed air then used brake cleaner to clean them and then immediately added a coat of paint. This stuff works great, has a little oder and is powerful. I had nitrile gloves on and they didn't hold up long to this stuff. I recommend chemical gloves. If you want a great rust remover I recommend this. Plus if you are soaking parts when you are done pour what you have left back into the bottle and use it again. It can be used over and over until it loses its effectiveness.Steve J
To treat rust in the past, I’ve used products like Ospho that convert the rust to a blackish state that serves as a primer for an painted finish. That’s okay but the Evapo-rust is far better. The Evapo-rust somehow just makes the rust pretty much disappear leaving the metal surface itself, with the metal itself somewhat darkened but not with a visible surface coating. For my need. I had a metal trash can, kept outside, that I use to put our fireplace ashes in through the winter. The bottom of it rusted enough to have scaling rust and even a half-inch hole as well as several small holes. I sanded it first to remove the scaling rust, then placed paper towels over the entire rusty bottom, soaked it thoroughly with the Evapo-rust, covered the soaked surface with plastic film to keep it from drying out and left it overnight. The next morning, most all the rust was gone. I repeated the above step and this time, no rust! To repair the holes and thin metal area, I overlaid it with fiberglass cloth and coated it liberally with fiberglass resin. The attached photos show the trash can after the first treatment and the final fiberglassed result.i neglected to take a pic of the initial rusty surface, but trust me, the can was on its way to rusting out. I’m very happy with Evapo-rust. It will be my rust treatment of choice in the future and I highly recommend it.Tom
The product has a water like consistency and evaporates like water. My project was taking rust off of an antique cast iron stove and all its parts. At first, I purchased a quart, or whatever the small size is, because my plan was to put the parts in plastic bags with paper towels to hold the liquid on the parts. However, the liquid migrated quickly to the bottom of the bags, and left the paper towel sticking to the part. Seems like whatever is in this stuff either works its way out of the Ziploc bag or somehow evaporates through the plastic. Whatever it did, the bag idea didn't work because the liquid didn't stay on the parts and it was consuming a lot of liquid. I also attempted to use paper towels and plastic on the large body of the stove. The results were even worse that the bag idea, after sitting overnight, all the liquid was nearly dry and the paper towels were sticking to the stove. Another failure. Before giving up completely, I decided to get a small plastic wash tub and soak the small parts. I covered the tub with plastic to prevent evaporation and this finally worked. I did have to take the parts out a couple of times and scrub the rust-residue, sort of a chalky black scum layer where the rust was. After a couple days, nearly all the rust was gone on the parts and all that was left was metal and the remaining paint. After rinsing with water, and letting them dry, a little wire brushing and sanding had them all ready for repainting. It says you can re-use the liquid, so I poured it back into the container for the next job. I'd say this is great for small detailed parts, unless you plan on buying a big tub and lots of liquid to soak the parts. You will also need some brushes to get the rust residue and plan on it taking a couple days, especially if the rust is deep. The body of the stove was handled the old fashioned way, wire brushing. Although, I used a 4 1/2" (Harbor Freight) angle grinder with a wire brush wheel (also Harbor Freight). That was able to take the stove down to bare metal in most places and where I couldn't get the wheel, I used a small wire brush to reach almost every crack and crevice. I'm finishing up the rest of the painting and sealing the joints today and it should be ready to use this winter.Thomas

We painted the inside of my Class 5 Baja with the Red and the outside with the Grey. Coverage was great and I was able to get pretty good control with the rattle can. The red will most likely be the final color for the interior while the grey will hold until I can do a satin red outside.Bill
Seems to really stick and do its job. Time will tell. I have purposely left rusted metal off the old truck out in the weather sprayed it with the encapsulator and testing to see how it will prevent corrosion. Sure wish in the 1960 & 1970's we had this stuff. Why is it the best vehicles ever made were most vulnerable to corrosion.

Like much better than POR 15 already! We usually do our research and have tried a bunch of products. Will never buy POR 15 paint again. Doesn't stick to smooth surfaces and don't like the idea of painting over rust. Love the Eastwood company, but they're rust encapsulater Doesnt work well. In the month I have used Rust bullet its held up. Hopefully it will hold in the long run and think it will! This stuff is very thick and strong! It will also stick to relatively smooth surfaces. I live in a beach environment with the usual heavy doses of salty air, fog and moisture. I used this product to primer my outdoor metal fences, gates, and doors. After taking the necessary precautions, it is very easy to use. Just wire brush surfaces, dry wipe off loose particles and brush on, let dry, then paint with desired coating. There is no need to reprep the painting surface in any way. I believe this to be the best product for this primer application, works like a champ! I have combo and acne prone skin and this set has been great! The cleanser was my least favorite out of all these products though. It was a little difficult to remove makeup with this, but it was very hydrating though. The eye cream worked great! I liked the packaging because it made it easy to use. I really like this whole set! One negative- the first product I tried was the beauty sleep moisturizer. I woke up with little acne bumps around my face that didn’t go away for about a week. I didn’t use any of the Tula products until they went away. But after a week, they went away and I gave the other products a shot. I loved them! I was so excited to receive and try these items after hearing such good things about Tula. Overall, I think the set is a great step into skincare, particularly anti-aging, and includes the basics most are looking for. The moisturizers have a distinct smell that I could take or leave. I really enjoyed the overnight one but the morning one doesn’t feel quite right, which could be a skin-type issue. I needed to lend some authentic looking rust to some model cars. I decided to give this a try because of the actual iron powder. The result has a colorful, bright sheen to it that is not representative of the dull, flat rust colors of an actual rusty car. Perhaps with some flat clear coat I can dull it up some but it will take more work to get the look I thought I would get. It may be fine for something that is decorative…..but not for my rust projects. I might just throw the iron powder in some water and let it rust naturally and then apply it. Of course I don't need to spend this kind of money to generate my own rust.blaser8820ay

I have been very lucky to get quite a few of these samples. So I haven't been without this product for about 6 months. It isn't a thick formula, it's a serum, it's not supposed to be. The fragrance is very light. Blends into the skin beautifully and absorbs almost immediately. I don't have any wrinkles so I can't say if this in fact helps with wrinkles, but it is a staple in my skincare regimen. Prevention is the best thing you can do when it comes to the skin on our face. I just placed an order for the 10 piece set and now I'm going to have the full size bottle along with a deluxe sample. Thank you for making such great products.
