This product has been a total lifesaver for hormonal breakouts I might still have one really bad breakout once a month but I keep just using this product along with pimple patches! The breakouts don't last nearly half as long. This product will not irritate or dry out the skin at all. I think that's why I love it so much. First off: combination skin (oily triangle zone & normal cheeks), large pores and blackheads I love this formula. I really did want to like this serum, but it did not do much, which is surprising considering the ingredients. Not only does it have 2% salicylic acid, but it also contains lactic acid. One would assume a cocktail of chemical exfoliants would be potent enough to make a pronounced difference, but I've used many other exfoliants that were far more effective than this serum. It is lightweight and easy enough to use, but you could buy a Paula's Choice exfoliant for the same price and get better results. I never write reviews, but I needed to let all the people contemplating purchasing this to BUY IT!! This product is definitely not a one size fits all! It claims to be exfoliating with antioxidant benefits to help smooth rough skin. It contains salicylic acid, an exfoliant that aids in helping clear acne. It has zero fragrance, especially helpful for those who have sensitive skin. It also claims to be gentle on the skin which I can definitely disagree with. After using this cleanser, i’ve noticed my skin is very dry and feels tight, I RUN to my moisturizer when I am done with this product. My advice would definitely be to let your skin get used to the cleanser. I would advise using 2-3 a week and using a hydrating cleanser in between washes, letting your skin accumulate to the wash. I have extremely acne prone skin and I have noticed the redness of my acne has gone down a bit but I haven’t used it long enough to see if it does anything to help with calming down how much I break out. This cleanser has been a godsend for my dry, combination skin. I have areas of flakey dry spots then areas of more buildup and blackheads around my nose and chin, and neck. Small bottle but as previous reviewers state, a little does go a long way. It absorbs quickly and I really like the smell. Moisturiser sinks in quickly after and skin is left soft. Some acne serums/creams I’ve tried previously are too drying and although I suffer from blemishes and blocked pores frequently I don’t have really oily skin so using them just dried my skin out and made it feel awful. I have been using this products, along with my sister, for three months now. We both have sensitive oily/ normal combination skin. This product has helped keep breakouts at bay. However, it is drying. You definitely need a hydration toner and moisturizer afterwards, as it does make your skin tight and a little dry. I am not sure how effective the salicylic acid in it is because in order to really work salicylic acid need to sit on your face for hours. So that part is a little questionable to me. I’d still say it’s worth a shot if you need a deep cleanser, however, I would use it at night as salicylic acid can make your skin more vulnerable to the suns ultraviolet rays.LaurelBeauty
Used this product 100% by the recommended instructions. Followed all the test steps and everything a T. After I got vaccinated and stopped wearing my mask, my skin was the clearest it has ever been, except for blackheads on my nose. I was so proud of clear and shiny skin, but my blackheads really bothered me because of the pore size. That's when I went to Ulta, asked for a recommendation, this was recommended to me, and now I'm experiencing the worst skin I've ever had in my entire life. I have super sensitive and dryer skin so had no interest in this until I met my partner (a mechanic) during a pandemic where wearing masks is a must. The combination of masking up in public and sometimes kissing my partner while he still has oil on his face after work has resulted in spots around my mouth and chin, I also suffer from stye's around my eye when stressed and this product helps to clear all of those issues when they arise. It is hard to wash off if you wash your face over the sink (despite having no SLS this is one foamy cleanser) and can sting sensitive eyes. As I do have dryer skin and a few fine lines I find this too drying to use twice a day with other active ingredients, such as retinol or Vitamin C, so only use this once a day after removing my make up with an oil-based cleanser (I use the Cerave creamy cleanser AM). I now would not be without this cleanser and keep a bottle at home and at my partner's house so that I am never caught short. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has suddenly started to get pandemic breakouts or who works in a dirty environment and wants that extra deep cleanse at the end of a day.Adele
These were bought on the 3 for 2 offer as pretty much a last resort. I’ve always had acne prone skin, but now with the mask wearing it has been the worst! I’ve literally tried so many different things and none of them worked. They with made my skin too dry or more spotty! A friend recommended these products but I thought it would be a gimmick as she has beautiful skin, but after just under a week I can feel the difference already. Skin is smoother and less bumpy. No new break outs as of yet and old ones seem to be healing up. If this is the results off one week then I can’t wait to see what my skin will look like in a few more. I’d recommend the moisturisers too. I use the facial one in the morning g as a base for make up and the larger smoothing one for night time which my thirsty skin thanks me for! Having read numerous amazing reviews for this product on several sites, I decided it may be just the thing to get rid of red bumps, small spots and generally rough, bumpy skin on my face and body. Considering the price and the great ingredients in this product such as the Salicylic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, I was sure it would work and had heard great things about these ingredients. The product was fine for the first few uses, nothing really happened e.g. no skin improvement, no worsening. After more uses my face started getting really itchy bumps and spots on my cheeks as well as loads of little spots on my forehead, nothing majorly bad but worse than it was before. I know this can sometimes be a purge period but I gave it a few weeks and things just keep getting worse so I've decided to stop using. May be fine for others but just wasn't for me, I've now reverted back to my trusty Dove bar soap which seems to work wonders whilst I search for a different Salicylic acid product.gemma9

This product really works. I never used to have acne,and in my mid twenties started developing some skin problems. I originally started with the full neutralyze regime (includingthe face wash) but switched to this after 3 months. I felt the face wash didn't really have an effect. I also started applying it morning and night, but after a couple months I began to only use it at night since it was drying my skin a little too much. I purchased this for my 16 year old daughter 3 days ago. Her acne was really bad, and painful. Most of her cheek was purple from the swelling caused by the acne. I purchased this product 13 days ago because I figured I'd give it one last shot. I have only been using the last 2 steps and have continued to wash my face with soap containing essential oils. I am not one to give 5 stars easily. I have struggled to control perimenopausal acne at my jawline for about 6 months. I have very sensitive skin. I have been doing weekly 50% glycolic peels from perfect image for about two years (for fine lines/wrinkles and Melasma, which it works great for). However, the glycolic didn’t help my breakouts much. I ordered this wash, and I had literally used it once. One day later, the patches of acne, bumps, red marks on both sides of my jawline were almost GONE, reduced about 95%, barely visible. It’s almost unbelievable, but it’s true. I had no burning the first time (my skin is used to peels, I guess). The second time, I used only little water and there was a tingle (wasn’t diluted much). I got so excited about how well this product worked, that I used it 3 days in a row, which was a BIG mistake – I then had skin dried out and flaking all over the place. Lesson learned – this product is too powerful for daily use – I'll use it twice a week. STILL THRILLED! I LOVE PERFECT IMAGE products. Fantastic find. Thank you!!
I woke after using the night before lines on my forehead seemed less apparent. I thought surly not. This product does seem to work for my skin. However I do have very sensitive skin so I have to be careful what I put on it. I’ve never worn makeup because of that. This does not hurt my skin. I left it on a little over a minute. Once I left it about 5 min. that was too much I just could feel my skin a bit chaffed. I’ve been using it every few days. It definitely smooths the skin when I put my moisturizer on it just glides. Definitely moisturize but read what you should use and what to stay away from. Very important. I’d try less time to test the waters first. For more wrinkles and non sensitive skin they have a higher acid choice.

What I love about Paula Begoun's skincare range is firstly: the transparency. An explanation is given for each ingredient so you know exactly what you're putting onto/into your skin. Secondly there's ample opportunity to trial the products via a sample size on the website. Not to mention a good returns policy. The 2% BHA lotion was one of the products that I invested in full size (along with a bunch of samples) and funnily enough was my least favorite out of everything I ordered. It's not that it broke me out or disagreed with me in any way, it just didn't do much for me. Even after the first 3 weeks of usage, gradually built up to twice daily applications, my skin still looked exactly the same as before I started using it. Pores, blemishes, oiliness, you name it…zero difference! It's unfortunate, as I skipped the option of a sample pack, thinking it wouldn't be enough product to give it a fair try. I was somehow convinced this 1 bottle would be the answer to all my skincare woes (not entirely sure what lead me to believe that!). The good: it wasn't harsh on my skin like many BHA products can be, and the application was well controlled, never too much or too little. I don't normally post reviews, but when I see something actually make improvements to my skin I've gotta share my experience because I know there's so much BS in products these days. But Paulas Choice 2% for the win! I got a small sample bottle for $10. I read the reviews and was a little nervous to do it everyday because of what people were saying…but that wasn't my experience. I used it everyday, morning & night. I shook the bottle 3 times into my hand and smoothed it over my entire face. I was using the cotton pads at first, and just doing on the areas that needed it but then I ran out of the pads so I put it in my hands and honestly, it worked way better when I was just using my hands to spread it because it seemed to soak into my face better. I saw people say that their face would get irritated by using it everyday and the way to use it correctly and see results was to use it once a week… so I just wanted to see how my face would react the next day but nothing felt bad and I decided to do it again in the morning. I loved how it felt on my skin, and I only had 1 flare up and that was a week later May 26-27th (Photos Included) The pimple went away quickly and I still decided to put the product on my face Night & Day. I saw people say it isn't good for sun exposure so not to use it during the day, but I am staying home at the moment so I don't go outside as often, maybe 20 mins a day. So I took that caution with a grain of salt. If you go outside more, maybe you should listen to that warning lol. I am not a product expert of how to use it correctly, all I know is I used it night and day and the hyperpigmentation/dark spots on my forehead have really toned down and my skin looks a lot more smooth/brighter which I love. I always feel like I'm glowing and it feels spa like when I put it on, it's got a nice relaxing smell and a nice soothing texture to it that isn't too oily. This is my tried and true holy grail exfoliator. No matter what I try, I always come back to this one. I have emptied soooo many bottles of this. I have very sensitive, combination (super dry/normal in the winter & oily/normal in the summer but I can still use this product all year around despite my skin type) and acne prone skin. I have to say that I hated this product the very first time I tried it–it stung my skin. It was to the point where I ran into the bathroom to wash it off my face after just a few mins of applying it. I really tried to like the product but the sting was too painful and the SMELL of this is absolutely atrocious. The product smells like acetone to me and I probably gagged in about 20 different languages when I put it on my face for the first time (although I would rather it smell disgusting than have them add a ton fragrance to the product. My skin doesn't do will with heavy fragrances). I left this on my vanity for a few months before I picked it up again–I just didn't want to waste my money. Someone told me to dilute the product with water on a cotton pad–I tried it and it didn't sting my face nearly as bad but still some intense tingling going on. But the next morning, I noticed how soft and rejuvenated my skin looked and felt. I continued to use it once a week and I fell in love with the product and slowly stopped diluting it as much as my skin got used to it. After 4-5 years of using this religiously 2-3 times a week, I still feel tingling on my skin when I use it but I've gotten use to the feeling and the horrible smell because the results are worth it. Due to my sensitive skin, I absolutely can NOT use this product more than 2-3 times a week. This product is wonderful. It takes me about a little less than a year.Vic

The Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid is a holy grail clear skin staple in my skincare routine! The new one which is now no longer Saitek but Logitech, is not of the same quality as the original Saitek version. It works and I now have two throttle quads for multi-engined use, but the newer Logitech one is much more loose on the levers and very much more plasticy. It is definitely inferior to the previous version made by Saitek. But this is personal preference I guess. Its just that Logitech could have done better for a 72 unit.sb9dv

i waited a while to write this review because i wanted to make sure i had given it enough time to form an opinion. while i don’t care for how abrasive the exfoliating beads can feel in the wash, they seem to work well! i’ve noticed that the areas of my body which would have an occasional breakout have diminished since using this product. everything didn’t magically clear up but so far it would appear that by continuing to use the product that may be the outcome in the end. so far, i am pleased with this body wash and will purchase it on my own in the future if it continues to work well for me !ashleigh.a
This body wash did nothing for my acne. I tested it for several weeks, using it everyday. When using it, I rubbed it into my skin for 30 seconds, then let it sit on my skin for another 30 seconds before rinsing it off. I did like that it didn’t dry my skin out, but it is too expensive for what it is. You can find comparable products at the drug store. Basically..if 2% salicylic acid doesn’t work for you, neither will this…and if it does work for you, you have cheaper options at any drugstore or supermarket.emily .b

I haven’t used retinol before so was reassured by this product being so moisturising at the same time. It feels lovely on skin but would be useful to know what percentage of retinol is actually in it- I saw someone asked this in the questions section and were given an email address, but when I emailed this address with the same question I was told they couldn’t disclose it. It would be useful especially for those first starting out with retinol who want to start with a lower percentage and gradually increase their skins tolerance. I can only presume the percentage is very low as my beginner skin hasn’t had any reactions to using it every night.Eleanor B.
my daughter has been using this salicylic acid for around 5 weeks and we can see a difference in her skin. she has really bad acne 😔 its has almost completely cleared her forehead and lightend the scars on her cheeks 2 shades. its light and easy to use. we brought the smaller size to test how she got on with it. it lasted 4 weeks so the supersize was a great find. There is little to no scent to the product and using it am and pm in her skin routine. hopefully it will continue to make a different.
I have been using this product along with the cleanser and face tonic. I have blemishes all around my chin and neck area but since using all three products morning and night my skin looks better than it’s looked in months! I never write reviews, but I needed to let all the people contemplating purchasing this to BUY IT!! I am one of those “all natural” remedy seekers, so I’ve cleaned up my diet, limited stress, added sleep… nothing was helping. This product is definitely not a one size fits all! It claims to be exfoliating with antioxidant benefits to help smooth rough skin. It contains salicylic acid, an exfoliant that aids in helping clear acne. It has zero fragrance, especially helpful for those who have sensitive skin. It also claims to be gentle on the skin which I can definitely disagree with. After using this cleanser, i’ve noticed my skin is very dry and feels tight, I RUN to my moisturizer when I am done with this product. My advice would definitely be to let your skin get used to the cleanser. I would advise using 2-3 a week and using a hydrating cleanser in between washes, letting your skin accumulate to the wash. I have extremely acne prone skin and I have noticed the redness of my acne has gone down a bit but I haven’t used it long enough to see if it does anything to help with calming down how much I break out. This cleanser has been a godsend for my dry, combination skin. I have areas of flakey dry spots then areas of more buildup and blackheads around my nose and chin, and neck. It’s gentle enough to use 3 times a day or as much as you wash your face and I wash mine a lot. I am 37 years old and have cystic acne with mid-cycle hormonal flares, so I approached this product with realistic expectations. I don't think it is designed for cystic acne, but I decided to try it anyhow because I tried rather expensive patches designed specifically for cystic acne that did not work. I have used three dots each on two different cystic acne lesions at two different stages. When I used dots in the earliest apparent stage, I noticed the lesion did not swell to the point I expected it to though the duration of it was unchanged. When I used dots on a later stage (like when you could be tempted to try to express some pus out but you know better because it's a cystic lesion), the dot performed like I expect it would on regular acne that forms a head (i.e. it "pulls" the pus out and leaves the lesion much flatter and less angry). So far I would say this product is worth using. It is not a miracle, but it doesn't hurt, and may help more than the usual benzoyl peroxide and hydrocortisone cream combination I apply. Plus, I don't run the risk of bleached spots on towels, pillow cases, etc. like I do with benzoyl peroxide.IllimitaEarth
These actually work. I'm not one who typically writes reviews, but I took a chance on these after seeing they were an Allure Best of Beauty award winner, and was happily surprised. I tried using them 2 ways, both successfully: first on a below-the-surface pimple, which I typically get and which often take weeks to heal. It significantly sped up the healing process overnight and totally flattened out the skin, to my surprise. Next, I tried it on a blemish I had already extracted. (I know, I know.) The sort of situation where the skin is partially broken and weepy. Typically, I'd have to use a drying lotion for several days and wait through a drying/scabbing process, which makes the skin texture rough and impossible to conceal well. It's not marketed for this, but the patch made the skin totally flat overnight, with no redness or scabbing, and significantly healed it. I was able to conceal it perfectly in the morning, because the skin was smooth and flat, and the broken skin had closed. That's a first. I immediately bought more to have them on hand. In both cases, I applied the patch to freshly cleansed skin at the end of the day and wore them all night. I can't report on how well they'd work if worn for less time. They're very sticky and stayed on all night, and are a better solution for me than the benzoyl peroxide, which bleaches my pillow cases. I personally wouldn't wear them during the day (though I know some do). They remind me of a skin colored BandAid–they blend in to some degree, but don't totally disappear into the skin. So a definite win and product that I can recommend! Based on this, I bought other products from this company and am currently testing them. These dots stick well and are comfortable to wear. I did my full routine, put it on, and wore it for about six and a half hours. It didn’t itch, and I slept soundly. In fact, I forgot I had it on until I got up to wash my face. Pulling it off didn’t stress my skin. I was glad I went ahead with my hydrating routine before applying it, because I found the patch a little drying to the area around the pimple and left it feeling a bit tender. I had trouble getting a good shot, but the dot also pulled the gunk out of my pores. I was happy to see the gunk was actually moisturizer and that my pores were nice and clean. It also drew most of the liquid from the pimple and left the whole area flat. It did leave the a bit…open, so I made sure to put cica and some additional aloe in the rotation. I’d worry that a larger pimple would leave a larger open area when it came to a head, so while it’s effective at drawing out the contents of a pimple, I’d keep healing products on hand.koolklawz

I received this serum as a #freeproduct for an honest review. First, I think it's important to point out that I have dry, sensitive skin and not the combo/oily skin the product is aimed towards. With that said, there are ingredients in this line of skincare that people like me just should not use frequently. For instance, this serum contains BHA, which increases sun sensitivity, so wearing sunscreen – although recommended – should be a MUST! The Vinopure serum comes in nice packaging, which I appreciate. However, there is no cap to cover the dispenser top, which leaves it open to collecting undetectable dust, dirt, and bacteria. Next, the product is "fragrance free," but the scent is extremely strong. It has peppermint oil in it, which causes the strong smell. In addition to the smell, the peppermint oil along with alcohol leave my skin feeling tight and tingly. For me, the product makes my skin bright red from the tingling, and certain ingredients. That said, to protect my sensitive skin, I didn't use these products twice a day, everyday, or else my skin sensitivity would increase tenfold. I cannot speak for those with combination to oily skin & who don't have sensitive skin, but for me, I don't think this is a product I would use as often as it's recommended. About a month ago, I walked into Sephora with plans to buy a spot treatment, but met an employee with the same type of skin as me. They convinced me to do away with spot treatments, and instead use a serum that will help eliminate my acne and also keep my skin looking young and smooth. Spot treatments tend to be too trying for my combo skin, so this serum was a great substitute. After a month, I already see a huge improvement in my skin. My acne has lessened, and my skin is nice and soft. I see a lot of reviews about this product giving people more breakouts, but that happens to me whenever I try a new skin product (it’s just our skin adjusting). I noticed a few white heads appear after my first few days of using this, but they were completely gone after a week.
