Reviews:
Been searching for a 27.2 dropper that can sit flush in my frame and still have good extension. This one is the best one for me. My bike has these water cage bolts that make it impossible for a seat post to fully insert into the seat tube. This dropper however fits almost all the way in and gives me the best drop I can find compared to the PNW rainier. The PNW rainier would be sticking out of the seat post too much on my bike and I’d have to adjust that dropper posts travel down to 90mm which just destroys that dropper post option for me. This one fits the bill best for me. Note that this dropper post though is not shimmable like the other OneUp posts are and the air pressure is not adjustable as it is a sealed cartridge. These are the only two cons to me but I don’t need to shim my dropper as it’s perfect for my height.Jonathan R.
I've had the dropper post for about 6 months, with less riding because winter is dark. In the last month, it has started to sag, go up very slowly, occasionally go up a little bit on its own, the cable gets loose at the shifter, and the mushy shifter. I have read around, and it seems like I'm not the only one with these problems. Even after pumping up the dropper to 290psi and making sure my seatpost clamp wasn't too tight, these problems return after a week or two. I ran a Reverb for 2+ years with much less total hassle. My partner has the V2 and she also has had these same problems. I'm going to get it serviced (which is expensive! and a long wait!) and if that doesn't fix it, I'll have to buy a dropper from another brand. I expected to love this product with all of the great reviews, and I love what oneup is doing with marketing (e.g. building trails in Squamish), but I can't recommend a product that doesn't work to my friends. Super disappointed overall.Vanya
I like this seat post so much that I am putting the 30.9mm diameter, 210mm travel OneUp V2 Dropper on a new bike build. I have been running the same dropper (in 31.6mm diameter) on my hardtail for over a year now. It works smoother and returns faster than my 170mm travel PNW Bachelor post. I also like the collar design better and have not had issues with it unscrewing itself (allowing grit inside), unlike the PNW. Overall, I like the PNW too, but I just like this one more. I just used the OneUp on a bikepacking trip around Switzerland (Hope 1000) with a Revelate Vole seat bag and the Wolf Tooth Valais dropper adaptor. It worked super well, with rain pants, rain jacket, puffy jacket, extra socks, and a long sleeve shirt in the seat bag. There was not a single time it didn't return to full height. As with all droppers, you need to make sure it's not caked with grime before using, but with a few preemptive wipes during the muddier parts of the ride, it operated flawlessly. The only thing I would like to see, that friends of mine have mentioned also, is seeing LONGER post options. I could probably run a 250 on my Salsa Timberjack hardtail, and I'm only 6' tall…Willard B.

Reviews:
I love my Kinekt 2.1! There are less expensive options out there, but this one is so well built and performs so well, it justified its price within about 10 miles in the saddle. It takes some adjustments to the positioning and rake of the now moving saddle, but once you get it dialed in, it's so natural and organic in its dampening of bumps to rider and movement of the bike against the terrain, its almost goes completely unnoticed, other than the improved comfort it provides. Never bouncy or over-sprung. This thing is a little weird looking, but really cool!Dallas
Ordered the suspension spring for up to 240 lbs. I weigh 230. It bottoms out with just a slight wiggle. Need heavier spring. Asked for replacement as per kinekt 30 day comfort guarantee but scootereti will not honor it as it has been used?? How am I supposed to tell if it works without sitting on it? Beware. And order one spring stronger.Greg T.
This suspension seat post far exceeded my expectations. It takes the jarring out of riding on concrete and asphalt bike paths. Well worth the money.Richard H.

Reviews:
I was originally hesitant about spending this much money on a seat post. I’ve been watching this item for some time and decided to try it. I’m glad I did, so comfortable, so adjustable. Seat angle is super slick. So far I absolutely love it. If you are looking for a shock absorbing seat post, this is the one. I tried some of my buddies rides with different brands and no comparison. 👍Peter G.
I had read so many good reviews about this product before, so I had high expectations. It performed beyond my expectations. Rough rides on an e-bike on the streets of Brooklyn have become so much smoother. It has also made my trips much safer, especially at nights, because I can now actually look ahead instead of looking for the next big pothole.Ali G.
Nice post. Absorbs a lot of the bumps. Makes my ride a lot more comfortable. Easy the adjust for rider weight.Marc Colledan
4. Origin8 Pro-Fit Seatpost, 27.2 X 400mm, Silver
Product Details:
Sit betterorigin-8's pro fit alloy seat post is made of light and durable forged aluminum that's been anodized and laser etched for a custom look. it also features an adjustable 2-bolt clamp that holds fast and lets you easily dial in your seat position. and, this fine post comes in a variety of diameters to fit almost any bike.
Reviews:
I wasn't aware of 2-bolt adjustable seat post clamps until I bought a quality fat bike. It provides micro-adjustment of the front to back saddle position, which regular seat post clamps don't. Those type of clamps have notches to lock the saddle in place. So the seat adjusts to where IT wants to go, instead of where YOU want it to go. An eighth of an inch can mean the difference between a comfortable saddle and an uncomfortable one. I have another bike with the regular saddle clamp on it which I decided to change for the 2-bolt clamp. I would never go back to the old style clamp. Another advantage of the 2-bolt clamp is that it won't come loose when you're riding. I had a regular clamp come loose while I was on a ride. Fortunately I had an adjustable wrench to tighten it. A bike isn't rideable with a loose clamp and could be dangerous while on the move causing you to fall forward or backward.john_chuckabutty
Pick this seatpost up for my steel bike build, the quality was good and comparable to Thomson but half the price . Installation was easy and the adjustments for the seat was simple. The weight is a bit heavy and the length was very way too much so I had to cut about 10 cm . Overall you get great value for this productmedrep71
Hard to find size. Glad I found it for my vintage MTB! It cost what it cost…j22rj_3tnx3k
5. Pnw Components 200mm Travel 30.9mm Loam Dropper Post
Product Details:
The pnw loam dropper post is an adjustable dropper post for mountain biking. the climb and the descent require different spots to make everything more comfortable and efficient. this post features tooless adjustability, plus an air cartridge so you can make it pop fast or change slow. the silicone band at the midcap can give your ride a splash of color, or keep it dark, only one included. features of the pnw loam dropper post 25mm of tool-less travel adjust guarantees you more drop across a wider variety of frame designs, sizes and body types. an adjustable air cartridge allows you to personalize the return rate for slow and steady or swift and poppy. a swappable silicone band on the loam post's midcap let's you coordinate with your pnw loam lever, grips and range bar.
Reviews:
I have always been a fan of pnw components. I previously had a pnw cascade that worked beautifully for 3 years till I sold the bike. Still worked. However I wanted to try the pnw loam. While initially it worked great. The actuator would seize after not being used for a 24 hour period. After several broken cables I decided it was a defective part and got a warranty replacement. However the new dropper post is exhibiting the same behavior which is highly disappointing as I loved the adjustability and ease of use of the post. I would recommend staying clear of this post trying out their other selections. Hopefully this issue is resolved or maybe I am just having bad luck.
Installed on an XS Pivot Trail 429 to replace a Fox Transfer 125mm that lost pressure. The 215mm insertion length let the dropper post lower into the seat tube all the way to the collar, which was important in order to maintain minimal stand over height above the seat. The travel adjust allowed reduction from 125mm to 100mm to perfectly fit my 4’10” fiancée. The adjustable air cartridge lets her pressurize to lift the seat responsively but not so firmly that she is unable to lower the seat by hand while standing aside the bike. Customer service was very helpful. They ensured I got the right product to suit my needs. The only complaint I have is that the blue silicone band wasn’t available with the 125mm post so I had to order with black. I highly recommend PNW. Great service. Great products.Craig G.
I recently bought a 150mm, 31.6 Loam dropper and everything so far has exceeded my expectations. I had a very small stack height range to fit a longer dropper and needed the new dropper to be at maximum insertion so I chose the Loam because it didn’t have the binding issues that other droppers have with this. The installation was very quick and easy as I was using the existing lever and the action has been quick and smooth. Customer service was immediate in answering my questions before purchasing and shipping was quick. PNW has having a sale when I purchased so that’s icing on the cake! Note: If you need to adjust travel down first check if you have an extra saddle with a lower height to rails. I did and am able to utilize the full travel. Happy camper so far!Joe H.

7. Pnw Components Cascade Dropper Post (125) 30.9x400mm – External
Product Details:
Building on the momentum of the rainier, pnw components developed the new cascade dropper seatpost to be lighter, shorter, with more travel, and have a fixed cable entry at the mid cap rather than the post head to keep things neat and tidy out on the trail. then, with a light actuation, sealed alloy cartridge, and low-profile remote lever, the cascade delivers tool-free saddle adjustment mid-pedal stroke to quickly adapt with changes in terrain, from cruising smooth singletrack to blasting through rock-strewn gravel and then taking on white-knuckle descents. meanwhile, spin-stop technology uses a keyed slider system that allows the seatpost to freely move vertically without any side-to-side saddle wobble, and its ambidextrous lever integrates without a hitch on either side for easy access to dropper action when you need it most.

Reviews:
I have been using this thing for quite a while now and I feel confident to give a good review. I have not used any others, however and this is my first one. So, its been amazing, so far! Have not had any issues at all! Lately, my intuition has been telling me it has been slowing down slightly??? – very slightly and nothing of concern, though??? It could be something else and I have not investigated it because its been tolerable. I think it has to do with the post changing heights on me and I think that is related to my frame clamp – not the hydraulic part, but the part that clamps in… if that makes sense. And that is not related to this product. Nevertheless, it has been a game changer for me and I would not go riding without it! I really appreciate this thing!Kyle H
I just installed a Cascade Dropper Post on my wife's 2007 Santa Cruz Bullit V2. What a great product. Will easily extend the useful life of this classic rig. In fact, I'm certain my son & daughter will be able to enjoy the bike now for many years to come. Install was a breeze. I am not mechanically inclined, but I watched the install video twice and reviewed the manual once and had this thing on the bike and operating within 30 – 45 minutes. Honestly, the hardest part of the install was putting their decal on my toolbox. It's one of those 2-sided transferable stickers that you peel off the back, install on the surface, and then peel off the front. If you can install a sticker you can install this post.Daryl
My first dropper, so I have no comparison point, but install (with a Puget 2x lever) was pretty straightforward. A few things to look out for: 1) The seat will have a little play in it. PNW explains how to measure it to make sure it is within spec, but mine was slight and I didn't notice at all when riding, so I didn't try to measure. 2) If you have a QR lever for your fixed seatpost, it may be in the way of the cable routing on the post which you can't move. In my case, I ditched the lever and used the same cylinder nut that was inside the lever and just got enough clearance (I need to order a fixed clamp eventually). 3) If you get the Puget 2x lever, I'm pretty happy with that so far too, but the video implies you can tuck the capped cable behind the lever but that didn't work for me at all. But I trimmed it pretty short and it is always out of view from my seated position, so I don't really care. Very smooth, quiet, good price, mostly good install info. Happy so far.Dara P.

Reviews:
Hello Mr Kerson. My Ranier dropper post and Puget lever work perfectly and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I would have purchased the Loam lever but it was unavailable, the Puget works just fine though. The Loam grips are great too. I'm new to Mtn. biking but not new to cycling as I spent many years riding and racing BMX. These are my new favorite grips. I know you guys are a fairly small company but I do wish you had more of a selection, I'm sure you will as you grow. I recently had to purchase new handlebars and a stem from another company only because they had the rise and color I was looking for. If PNW had what I needed (38-40mm hb rise) I would have happily bought from you. Great products at a great price..as well as great shipping. Keep up the good work and I undoubtedly be purchasing more PNW products!! Thanks!Michael G.
I'm new to mtn biking. Bought a used bike and the dropper was busted. Didn't want to spend a pile of cash, but also didn't want junk. Did some research, came down to a few options. Pulled the trigger on the Rainer and the dropper lever. Reasons: 1. Reviews overall are pretty good. 2. Price was really good (IMO) even got some discount at checkout. So it came out ~$50 less than the next option I was considering. 3. I live in Portland, so PNW knows what we face in the PNW. The post was easy to install even for a newb (i used the installation video on youtube, thanks for that!). Been out on several rides, I like the way the post performs. I would say that the post is a great value, the cost was reasonable and it performs very well. I can't speak to how well it will hold up, too new. Wrote tech support once with a question, got a response in just a few hours, love that!joe s.
There's not too many options for a 27.2 dropper, however, I don't think you can find a better one for the price anyway. For all of you wondering how the 125mm fits, it's perfect for me. My X-Trada bike is a size L and the post goes nearly all the way down before it hits the first water bottle screw. For reference, when fully inserted into the tube, it lines up perfectly, just below the "PNW" letters on the post. As a side note, the dropper doesn't come with the lever so I purchased the Shimano dropper lever (also at REI) and it's a perfect match. The dropper is smooth and so is the lever. You can barely tell the lever is on, it's inconspicuous. Great price, no complaints. Hope this helps someone…XTrada 7

Purchased from xxcycle in 2015 for my ebike after 5 years of use and annual lubrication with Teflon infused oil this excellent product has no signs of wear. The Suntour NCX has absorbed shock in a incredible fashion, helped me to enjoy my rides, and saved my problematic back. Quality Taiwan made.USA CUSTOMER
had one on my old bike and got a new one with fatter tyres to commute to work thinking it would be much smoother. A year went by and took the plunge again. Wish I had gotten this sooner. best investment for any bike. I don't understand with Sydney roads road bikes and their skinny tyres don't have one of these?????carlosletelier
Excellent behavior in any unperfection of the road smoothing the ride. It is a must have for any bicycle. Great difference than before. Making the driving experience best at least for a heavy weight person like me. And with its pouch is very descrete.tagent_3001

If you're looking for an economical 27.2 suspended seat post, the TranzX might just be your ticket to ride. It's pretty sturdy with good tolerances….meaning seat wiggle is imperceptible when on the bike. TranzX includes 3 bushing inserts spanning different rider weight ranges. I slotted in at the bottom of one of their weight ranges, but can still feel a slight "give" when riding over neglected pavement. Although it's not a Cane Creek, overall it was a good option for my SE Racing bike.Whitney O.
This is an excellent economical suspension seatpost to take the edge off bumps. Installed at the stoker position on my tandem, it has made rides much more comfortable for the stoker and at the same time helps the handling of the bike because the stoker is no longer being bounced off the saddle by unexpected sharp bumps. Easy to install. I use carbon installation paste on the clamp adjustment surface to reduce the chance of the seat angle slipping as some reviewers have noted.DAVID

Received both Pine 27.2 dropped and Loam levee much faster than I expected. The product arrived in good packaging and good condition. Installation was quite straight forward but I wished there was an easier way to flip the dropper external remote from one side to the other side but small issue, I left it as it is as I am worried of damaging something if I tried. On trail it really transformed my ride. As this is my first ever dropper and on my Lynskey hardtail, I was thinking why I did go dropper earlier. Now I enjoy my ride more and definitely ride better compared to last time. The loam lever was a joy to use and the build quality is great. All in all a wonderful product and no regrets purchasing it.Stanley L.
The PNW dropper posts greatly improved our biking enjoyment. My wife is 5’1” and experienced road biker. However her Turbo Como was difficult to touch the ground at a stop. Adding the Pine dropper has her smiling again. I added the Coast suspension post. I was regularly having some back pain after 8 or 9 miles. Thought about a Thudbuster but instead went wrong thebCiast and I’m glad I did. The suspension works as advertised and I get the benefit of dropping the seat at stops. In addition PNW provided excellent customer support. We also added some cool colored grips they offer. Highly recommend.Tony B.
I recently picked up a Mondraker Podium R hardtail. Super light and super fast but alas, they do not come with a dropper. Just needed a little something to get lower in those high speed turns. Picked the Pine 27.2 Dropper with a Loam lever. Fast just got even faster. I can imagine racing XC without a dropper ever again. The Pine is absolutely flawless when combined with the Loam Lever. Precise control and modulation to set just the right height. It's like an extension of my thoughts. Love this dropper.William C.

Reviews:
I've only had the seatpost on four rides, but so far it is performed flawlessly. There is no lateral play in the dropper (something which has plagued all my previous droppers–the old Crank Bros Joplin, KS Lev, and then KS CI). The dropper control is also really good–better than any previous post I've had, and the return action is as fast or faster than any previous dropper. Obviously four rides is not enough to judge how well it holds up, but I'm optimistic given longterm reviews that have been published. Installation of the dropper post was really easy. It was more work to remove my old dropper than install and set up the new post. The lever actuation is very light, with little pressure at all required (much much less than all my previous mechanical droppers), but I've also not had any problems with, or learning curve to avoid, accidental actuation. Also, I found that there is a very wide range of lever position adjustment, moreso than on my previous posts. Using either the provided lever specific mounting ring or the SRAM Matchmaker mount provides a range of reaches for the lever, and then further range is provided two available mounting screw holes on the lever itself. Even though I have smaller hands, those two available screw positions allowed enough lateral adjustment to ensure that the lever paddle was right where I wanted it, without requiring me any hand shifting to actuate the paddle. All my previous dropper post levers would require some amount of hand shift to activate the dropper. That combined with the light actuation pressure of the AXS lever really make the act of actuating the dropper best in class.Nathan
Very simple and quick installation – no cables or hydraulics. Operation instant and fast. Make sure you have your bottom either in contact or well clear when resetting the seat post from minimum to full height. Don’t over tighten the seat post clamp. I found any more than 6 Nm caused it to stick a bit on return. Can’t install saddle bag for spares.
This is by far the best dropper seatpost that I have ever owned. The action is very smooth. It is easier and more precise to stop anywhere along its travel compared to any other dropper. Since there is no cable to install it is the easiest dropper to install. You can install it on a bike that doesn't have the provisions for a dropper. It is expensive but worth every penny.MARTIN

Reviews:
The thing goes up, goes down, and even has a suspension post party trick. As with the other axs posts it’s expensive but excellent and reliable.Grant G.
Works perfectly with AXS Rival shifter paddles. I purchased this for my new Lauf Anywhere. It's an excellent bike, but I couldn't get low enough to make good use of the drops on descents or for popping of trail features/screwing around at the bike park. It's transformed my all-road bike into a proper gravel bike.DJ
If you ride your gravel bike on mtn bike trails this 75mm wireless dropper post changes the game as far as safety and maneuverability. Which for me results in improved confidence and thus improved speed. There are definitely less expensive 27.2 posts on the market but who wants cables and housing…Gary L.

Awesome seatpost. This is the third one I’ve purchased. And when I get a new bike I will purchase another. Great weight, price and looks.
Sadly I purchased one of the Easton carbon seatposts and went to pinch it up at will call to find out there was an error with inventory. Luckily they cancelled my letter right there and purchased this version. Absolutely love it so far and glad I went with whiskey. Solid product, amazing quality, looks sleek, easy to adjust saddle.Ryan
Fit and finish is very good. Sharp looking product as well. Overall, in my opinion, this is a good value in terms of cost vs. performance / weight / quality of product. Post is stiff and, weight wise, seems on par [maybe a little bit heavier] with similar carbon seat posts that have an all aluminum head. Versus the more expensive carbon seat posts that have partial carbon heads, this post will seem relatively heavy.jstwong
16. Specialized Terra Seatpost, Satin Carbon/charcoal 380mm X 20mm Offset
Product Details:
Roval wants you to spend more time riding and less time standing, and engineers the terra carbon post to give some much needed vertical compliance without losing strength or adding weight. using an advanced composite layup, the roval terra layers the material in "varying elongation" at targeted locations to provide relief from hits that travel directly up the seat tube into the saddle. what you'll notice is reduced jarring and a softer ride in the saddle, which may result in a far less fatiguing ride experience, and one that keeps your weight planted more often for added stability and traction over the rear.

Light and comfortable, just as you would expect from a quality carbon seatpost. I bought this for my Salsa Fargo and so far it’s been great . It has just the right amount of setback for dialing in my riding position.David
Bought this seatpost to replace the heavier Salsa Guide Seatpost that came stock on my Salsa Beargrease fat bike and am very happy with this lighter version made of 2014 aluminum. This seatpost is also lighter (by a few grams) than the Salsa Guide Carbon Seatpost, more durable, and less expensive (by $25.00 MSRP). So far, after a 150 miles of trail riding, no issues at all and I'm very satisfied.Jonathan
I needed a quality seatpost that would stand up to the rigors of bikepacking after having a carbon Fizik fail in the other side of nowhere. First 25 mile ride shows that it should prove to be a good choice, with as much compliance as you can get on an aluminum seatpost.Warren

My CAAD12 came with a BBB seat post and I only noticed this recently. Swapped it for the proper C2 seat post and immediately noticed the ride is much more compliant. I wish I had realised this before Ride 100! Sigma Sports was one of the cheapest and delivery came in a few days. Overall very pleased with this purchase.Shaun
I upgraded the original S3 seat post of my new Synapse and it made the ride smoother. And it looks cool too! 😉joli59
