Reviews:
The ASUS VG289Q Gaming Monitor is a great-looking piece of hardware with a beautiful display that is as good at gaming as it is at 4K video and everyday work. It has all the right bells and whistles to sit on a work desk while becoming a serious game machine after the clock strikes 5. The star here is the 28" 4K IPS panel, but it's paired with a stand that does everything right. The VG289Q has swiveled, lifted, tilted, and twisted its way into my heart. —–Here's the tl;dr version:—– Things I like: – [email protected] looks AMAZING for games and video – Enough color options that I can use a preset for most things – Gaming modes really helpful for dark games without blowing out image – Nice that you can set gaming modes using a main button – Looks great for everyday work – Height adjustment, tilt and swivel are awesome to have and perfectly dialed in Things I don't like: – Difficulty getting [email protected] to work with HDMI on an ASUS laptop (USB-C to DisplayPort works great) – Navigating using the joystick isn't my favorite, but you get used to it – Tinny speakers are not good —–Here's the long version:—– I was very excited to get this monitor, as I have a super-sweet ASUS Q538EI laptop with a 4k display, and dealing with a 1080p monitor as my second was getting me down. I'm a casual gamer and a full-time work-from-homer since the beginning of the pandemic, so I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk, doing front-end development, editing images, watching my beloved Chicago Cubs play day games via MLB.tv, or blasting demons in Doom Eternal, digging deep holes with my kids in Minecraft, or doing some neo-platforming in Ori (which looks just KILLER in 4K, btw). I need something that's color accurate for graphics work, and this fits the bill pretty well, compared to the Pantone-validated display of the Q538. I also need something bigger than my laptop screen that's specifically ready for gaming in all light levels. Basically, I need a monitor that can do it ALL, and do it all day long. The ASUS VG289Q is exactly that, and if it weren't for one very troublesome (but mostly solved) problem that's kinda specific to my situation, I'd give it 5 stars without hesitation. Here's the deal: I have a brand new ASUS laptop and I got a brand new ASUS gaming monitor. I plugged one end of a brand new HDMI cable into the laptop and the other into the monitor and… nothing. After a while, I got the thing to display and set it up. It looks AMAZING and I'm like "finally!" Then I locked the PC and and when I came back later… nothing again. Ultimately I discovered that when I set the monitor to run at 4K, 30Hz, the computer recognizes it, and everything "works" fine, but 4K, 60Hz video stutters and judders. Once it was working at 4K 30Hz, I could set the monitor to 60Hz and it was great, but again, every time the computer locks it's back to the same problem. I tried ~everything~ to fix this, 3 different HDMI cables, updating the BIOS, downloading the specific monitor drivers from ASUS, changing to the Intel graphics drivers, then back to ASUS's. Even contacted ASUS support and outlined all my problems in long emails. Nothing. You know what fixed it? Buying a USB-C to DisplayPort cable so I can run the monitor from one of the Q538EI's Thunderbolt 4 ports. First time, flawless. I wish I hadn't had to deal with that, but those few days of frustration will someday soon be a distant memory, and this awesome monitor will still be sitting a couple feet away from me, looking and performing absolutely great. Now my only complaints are the joystick and buttons ASUS uses to navigate its menus are kinda wonky to get used to, and placing them on the right side means I need to swivel the monitor to get at them. Also, the speakers are really not very good. I set them to disabled and will probably never worry about them again. —–The final word:—– As I said above, the ASUS VG289Q can do it ALL and do it ALL DAY. Its 4K, 60Hz IPS panel is beautiful to look at whether you're deep in a dungeon, deep in a spreadsheet, or deep into a 4K nature documentary on YouTube. On top of all that, the screen is attached to a very fine base that can do all the lifting, swiveling, and tilting you need. If you're in the market for a tremendous, capable monitor at a very competitive MSRP, you could do a lot worse. Just use DisplayPort.benzy
ASUS has been making some exceptional monitors for a few years now, and this gaming monitor is no exception. As I'd just built an ASUS TUF GAMING based PC, this was going to be an upgrade experience to remember; especially as I was lucky enough to find a retail priced Graphics Card (GPU) that's ready for 4K. In the box you'll find the monitor, the base portion of the monitor stand, a wire management cover, a power cord and power adapter, a displayport cable, and the various manuals and warranty information. Assembly requires that you take the monitor and attach the base, using a simple screw that’s already attached to the base for easy installation. The cable management piece attaches to the rear of the stand, allowing you to simply wind the cable through, which helps keep them connected during orientation adjustments. If you opt to mount the monitor, you can pop out the screw tabs on the rear of the VESA mount area, remove the existing stand, and then mount using a compatible wall mount. For inputs, you’ll find this has 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort input, along with a headphone jack for audio output. The ASUS stand is quite impressive, reminding me of a 3rd party option that allows for greater flexibility for different orientations. You can move the monitor up, down, tilt left or right, tilt it downward, and place the orientation anywhere between landscape and portrait to your viewing preference. In my opinion, this is probably one of the best OEM stands I’ve ever used on a monitor. I was planning on moving this to another stand that allowed for similar positioning and was surprised to find it was already up to the task! Since my newer GPU could use DisplayPort for 4K viewing, I opted to use the included cable, and was pleasantly surprised at the viewing area of the desktop when I powered on my PC. Being at 4K resolution, there was a lot more space for shortcuts, viewing websites, and a larger viewing area while gaming. I was also able to take advantage of the 4K resolution quality settings on websites like YouTube to view various videos posted by content creators I actively follow. There is a display driver you can install for this monitor, which requires a small download on the ASUS support website. I would highly recommend you install the driver, as this allowed my PC and GPU to properly view all the available resolutions and feature options for the monitor. The only limitation to using DisplayPort, is that you PC handles most of the output settings, and the monitor disables GameVisual, the Blue Light Filter, and color settings options in the display’s built in menus. However, HDR and Adaptive-Sync can still be toggled in the Image settings menu. While connected over HDMI, you can take advantage of the various GameVisual modes for automatic adjustments of picture for a better viewing experience. For instance, in scenery mode the Asus monitor adjusts the colors on the screen to mirror a “Dynamic” style setting helping colors stand out. In fact, there are several pre-defined GameVisual modes including Racing Mode, Cinema, RTS/RPG, FPS, sRGB, MOBA, and a user defined custom setting based on your adjustments. There is even a “GamePlus” menu that allows you to turn on an onscreen Crosshair (with various options), have an FPS counter displayed on screen during gameplay, set a timer, and even an option to help with display adjustments. All these options will display information on the screen to help you practice or assist with monitoring your overall performance. Playing games in 4K, I was able to make out more detail on screen, with a more vivid picture compared to my previous 1080P monitor. Games like WarZone, Red Dead Redemption, Star Trek Online, and World of Warcraft all felt new again thanks to the larger viewing area. With RDR2, I found myself avoiding fast travel points, and instead taking in the visual splendor of the landscape. WarZone gameplay in 4K and with FPS mode made the gameplay smoother overall with colors adjusted to assist with viewing everything in your field of view. The shadowboost is easily my favorite setting to adjust for games like RDR or the new Resident Evil, allowing for better viewing in darker environments, without washing out the image. I was also surprised to find there are two speakers built into the monitor with audio passthrough. You can enable the speakers While they aren’t the loudest, they offer a more flexible option for those currently lacking speakers or who want to quickly set up and go. The headphone jack allows for flexibility of connecting your favorite headphones or a line out for speakers, while using the joystick and menu to adjust volume on the fly. During louder volume settings, the speakers can clearly be heard clipping louder sounds. If you’re a streamer and have a capture card that will pass through 4K output, you’ll find this monitor a perfect pairing for streaming on apps like Twitch or YouTube. This is also a perfect monitor for those looking to do video edSamrio
I bought 2 of these monitors to go along with my new desktop computer in my home office. Previously, I had a single 24" monitor. These new ASUS monitors are wonderful and I feel are an excellent value. I looked for monitors at Costco, but they had nothing like these babies. My computer guy recommended I get either HD (1080p) or 4K and to stay away from 2K. I didn't want to spend over $500 each and the TUF 28" monitor was well below that at $350. Most of the other 4K monitors were pretty pricey. Regarding the monitor itself, the picture is great! The stand is phenomenal as it is very solid and super adjustable. You can raise/lower the screen with ease. It also tilts. And you can turn it 90 degrees if desired. It's very fluid and easy to get right where you want it. And it stays in place. It also has a cabling bracket on the back that opens and closes easily (with a simple push) to rout the cables. They've really thought of everything. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. Yes, that's how good they are.DavidH

Reviews:
Amazing headsets overall! When my loyal Logitech h390 headsets died after 8 years of faithful service I found myself trying to replace them. That took me into a 2 year adventure in which I tried new office Logitech, gaming Logitech, regular priced and very expensive Sony, regular priced and very expensive Jabra and even some Oodo. I tried $100 headsets as well as $ 500 headsets and even tougth the sound quality was good there was always something that didn't quite work well: battery life, the bluetooth not binding correctly to more than one device, quality of the mic, etc etc etc. I had settled from some Jabra a few months back but got the chance to try this Bose for a couple of weeks and oh boy was I glad! I returned the test Bose to my friend and immediately got this one for myself. Battery life is amazing, easily 3 to 4 days of using the headsets for both music and zoom calls for more than 8 hours a day. The boom mic works really well but I'm extremely happy to say its not needed as the built in mic works really well too. They are comfortable to weark, fold really well and are very lightweight. I highly recommend this product to all that would listen to me.Marcos
The good – The headset is super comfortable and the soft ear cushions do a great job of sealing around the ears. – The ANR noise reduction is even more effective than I expected. Listening to videos, movies, or TV with ANR makes everything so much easier to understand. The Not So Good: – The Bose connect app is way better than nothing, but it frequently says it cannot find the headset and sometimes fails to properly switch the active BT link when there are more than 2 paired. – The headset works really well to Bluetooth connect to devices like a phone or laptop where you can initiate the connection on the phone/laptop, but it is very difficult to pair with "blind" devices like the Bluetooth transmitter I have on my TV. The guidance providing for pairing to BT devices never mentions how you accomplish this pairing. – When I first received my QC35 II headset a few weeks ago, I was able to pair to the Bluetooth transmitter on the TV, but since then the headset has stopped working with that device and all my attempts at restoring that pairing, including removing all the paired devices and starting over, have failed. Meanwhile, the Bluetooth headset of another brand I have used with the TV transmitter for over 5 yrs, still works perfectly. – The headset works really well with 2 paired connections (laptop and phone), but when you are able to add a 3rd paired device (e.g. TV), it becomes unreliable in switching to that device either through the phone app or using the headset switch. I have given up trying to use the QC35 II with the TV transmitter, and instead just use my old Bluetooth headset with the TV (sigh), and use the QC35 II only with my phone and laptop.Steve
It's nice to be un-tethered to my laptop… It's liberating to walk from my office to the kitchen and even bathroom while still listening to some interview or conference call with mic on mute. That liberty makes me wonder what took me so long to finally purchase this.. While on the phone and unplugged, there is a high frequency hiss from the microphone which is a little annoying… however I can hear my self very well to the slightest detail and the person on the other end can hear me very well also.. And of course I can hear the person much better than my entry level Sony smart phone headphones. And let me tell you, the fact that I can be more present and hear my dad more clearly on a phone call whilst doing yoga is just priceless. It used to be that holding the phone up to the ear resulted in short conversations… Then headphones changed the game and made it more enjoyable and now these Bose headphones just upped the game to the point where I could listen to someone with more intention and attention. This is gold! Whilst in wireless phone call mode, you are not in noise reduction mode.. In fact you hear your surroundings clearly. I wish Bose gave you the option to customize the EQ of the mics.. That would help a lot. The other option is to use the stereo 1/8" to 1/16" adapter cable for the phone calls… this allows for noise reduction capabilities I think… one definitely doesn't hear the mic hiss like when in wireless mode. The noise reduction while listening to audio from the laptop can be disorientating at times…. it's amazing how for granted we take the basic association of the noise from things shuffling around as you move them. It's mostly the lower frequencies that get filtered out, and a lot of it has to do with how well the ear cup contacts around the ear and insulates exterior sound. Due to the disorientation factor I'm still deciding the right time and place for this device. However the fact that there's less noise makes it for a much better listening experience. To my surprise the headphones will auto shut-off if there is no audio playing from a connected device. This can be annoying if you're scrolling through social media and only engage a video's audio every once in a while. I honestly thought these would give me the option to just use the noise canceling feature all by it self so I can work in silence, but that is not so (unless I haven't figured it out yet). When I connected to my laptop which is exactly 40" from the headphones and then also connected to the cell phone 24" away and started a phone call, a wave of nausea hit me, which is a key indicator of 2.4GHz over exposure. I also have a bluetooth keyboard and trackpad which doesn't help with the EMI toxicity exposure issues. So now I just keep my tethered Sony headphones connected to the phone while I'm sitting at my office…. kind of silly to be shuffling around between headphones still, but the fact is I'm just very aware of the 2.4GHz exposure symptoms and have to keep it at a minimum. I've been exposed to a lot of EMI in my little electronics workshop and can tell you if it's too much.. It primarily manifests as slight nausea and then just loss of focus and lack of energy. It's important to be aware of this if one is to voluntarily add more EMI sources around their head. So far the Bose headphones by them selves are okay (tolerable) for radio emissions. The biggest plus with these headphones was that I can hear my dad better and feel like I'm right in the same room while on the phone. He could go on an on about how bad communist is, having grown up in Poland, and I want to hear every last little detail he can expound while he's still alive. Thank you Bose!michal.7

Reviews:
I bought this for a friend that has back issues and vacuuming is difficult. She loves it, but she didn't have high expectations. I tried setting up the app but was unable to resolve wifi connectivity issues. I didn't try that hard, so maybe it could be resolved with a larger investment in time. It is run manually, as needed, and seems to work well as it transitions from hard floors to medium height pile carpeting. It can't always seem to find its base, but she doesn't keep the base right out in the open, as suggested, because it wouldn't look very nice. Small modifications to the house help it avoid problems, like a bumper on a fire place to keep the bot from going too far in and causing damage to trim, also, lowered a threshold between rooms so that the bot could cross over in both directions. It does have fairly impressive off-road capabilities and was making it over a large threshold, but was trapped on the other side. The terrain doesn't need to be really flat. If your willing to work with it and don't expect it to work miracles, it can be a purchase you don't regret. It has been almost a year of ownership. No parts to be replaced yet.
I admit, I am a robot groupie. As such, I've have about 8 vacuum bots over the years including the first Roomba (had no numbers in the name, just Roomba). I also have 7 cats and 2 dogs, so you know the Roombas are working in our house. If you have deep pile carpeting, this is the best bang for the buck of the major brands on the market. At present, I also have the i6 (exactly like the i7), and although it is great on floors and short pile carpeting I have in the kitchen and living room (and I absolutely LOVE the automatic empty feature), it's not great on the deep pile carpets I have in my bedroom. I also have a Eufy 11s and it is good for floors, but not for carpeting. The Shark is basically useless. However, this guy is great! The brushes really clean the carpets well, and when it finishes, the carpets look as though they have been vacuumed with a heavy duty, non-robotic, plug-in vacuum. This is not just my own opinion. I've other folks look and they were quite honestly surprised by how well the 690 vacuumed the carpets. "It works this well on the carpets? I thought robot vacuums were only for floors." I love this robot!
I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC

Reviews:
This vacuum honestly shouldn't even be carried/sold. I got one good solid use out of it where it picked up most things in my tiny apartment just fine, since I have hardwood flooring I used a Swiffer to sweep/mop the rest without issue. After that I ended up not doing much cleaning due to adopting a dog and immediately needing surgery on a toe that kept me off my feet a lot for a few weeks, a lot of dog hair ended up everywhere by the time I cleaned again, which I got most of with a regular broom. It picked up the rest of dirt/fur/etc on this second use somewhat okay, but stopped working before I was fully finished for some unknown reason. My third use the next week there was much less overall dirt and fur, but I swept first again to be safe, then started using the vacuum and noticed it wasn't picking almost anything up, and certainly not very tiny piles of dog fur like I would expect. It shut off only a few minutes into vacuuming, come to find out because it was overheating and had become EXTREMELY hot at the bottom where the wheels are. I have not used it since, nor do I intend to – frankly this is a pretty terrible vacuum and don't think it'd be worth the price for even half the cost.Tyler
Had this vacuum for only 2 months before it started to overheat. I can only vacuum 3 mins at a time before it shuts off. Then I have to wait 20 mins to restart it only to be able to vacuum for 1 to 2 mins before it shuts off again. It takes me about 3 hours to vacuum my whole house. This is a joke! Never again will I ever purchase a DIRT DEVIL VACUUM. This is the worst. Dirt Devil team, please, please, please, save me the spew that you give everyone after a bad review. I noticed that you leave the same response for everyone so you're not telling anyone anything different to their situation you're telling everyone the same thing over and over. Bottom line I will never in life purchase another Dirt Devil. It leaves patches of dirt all over the floor and whatever it does pick up it spits it right out the back so now I am left spending the 1 to 2 minutes that I have to vacuum before it shuts off to pick up what it just spit back out so I'm getting nothing done. Dirt Devil team by the time you respond to my bad review it's already going to be in a landfill somewhere so don't even bother.Jackie
This vacuum gets the job done! I’ve had it for about a year, when I first purchased this item I saw bad reviews, customers complaining that the suction was no good, the vacuum gave out after a few uses. Here is the thing! You have to take good care of your vacuum, do a pre pick up, it isn’t an industrial vacuum so don’t expect it to gobble up large chunks of things or liquids! Another thing to note is those carpet powders are NOT made for this machine. And your vacuum is EASILY fixable! Check your hose to make sure nothing is blocking the passage of the suction. Don’t vacuum up liquids, clean your filter. The hose can be taken apart with a screw driver to be cleared out. I clean my vacuum often, and it works like a dream. I believe the bad reviews are from people trying to vacuum up unorthodox things. I admit the hose suction doesn’t sound like it’s picking up but I run it around the corners of my base boards and it gets every crumb of anything.
