20 Best Self Cleaning Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair (Jan 2023 Update)

So impressed. I am not paid or given a free bot for this review. I researched for 4 months and settled on this model by Shark. I don't know why people are claiming that this robot marks walls it comes close but does not touch them in fact if it sees a object it slows down till it maneuvers around it. Everything advertised it does and does excellent. The app is very easy to use. People complain about the app but I think they are using cheap phones or tablets. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this unit, I watched tests between roombas and eufys and all the the robot vacuums that could self empty at twice to three times the shark was nothing is close. The main thing was all the other company's use Vslam and cameras for guidance they can not see in the dark and basically go in random action like a bump and go toy, Not this Shark that uses lidar which is a invisible rotating Laser for guidance it is perfect and works even in the dark. I had to laugh roombas latest self empty has a white spotlight led mounted above its camera so it can clean without bright sun or the lights on. So you can pay 1400.00 for the vslam spotlight robot or 500.00 for the shark and have 3yr vip warranty with latest tech and row by row cleaning, and individual room cleaning. I also want to point out that after it does a room row by row when it finishes that it goes all the way back around the border of that room. Suction power is excellent on max, but you can choose between eco, norm and max in the app. You can choose to have it go back to empty every 30 minutes and it will go right back where it left off. I never have had it not find the base or had to go find it. I know it can be frustrating when trying to decide on which robot vacuum to buy. Do yourself a favor and buy one if you don't like it they have a 90 Day return policy and the customer service is awesome and they do care.Speedracer

I was so excited to set up and start using my Shark AV2511AE AI Robot Vacuum with XL Self-Empty Base and I was not disappointed. It was easy to set up and charged pretty quickly. It was very easy to download the app and get the Shark working. The Shark will first map your space so it knows where to go each time it cleans. You can set up the Shark to clean on a schedule or you can tell it when to clean using the app. You can even send it out to spot-clean a small area if need be. When the Shark is full, it will automatically return to the base and empty itself in the base. Supposedly you can go 60 days without emptying the base. However, I have three children and a large dog and I do not believe that we can go that long without emptying the tank in the base. Even still, this is so much more convenient than my old robotic vacuum that I had to empty with each use, and often before it was finished vacuuming. Emptying the tank on the base is a breeze. The app will notify you if there is a problem with the Shark, for example, if it gets stuck on an uneven surface, or if something gets caught in the beater bar. There is also a function on the app to locate the Shark if it gets "lost" under a piece of furniture or something, but I have not had to use this function. Of course, the Shark will work best if your house is not cluttered and the floor is thoroughly clear of items such as toys or shoes. It moves easily from my hardwood floors onto my shag rug, and it's relatively quiet. The only con I can think of is that the base needs to be set up in an area with three feet of clearance on all sides. My house is not large and this really limits where we can put the base, but if you have a large house with a lot of open space this won't be an issue. It won't take the place of my regular vacuum for deep cleaning and corner cleaning but overall my house is so much cleaner with the Shark making its rounds regularly. I have owned this Shark for about 6 weeks now. This is kind of a mixed review, as there are some things I like, and some that need lots of improvement…. Starting with the likes.. The Shark is really good when it comes to cleaning, and lack of work I now have to do. I was able to map my house pretty easily, and she remembers everything (I think!). When she goes out to clean, she always does a thorough job, and everything looks clean. I haven’t had any issues with scratched baseboards or furniture – she does bump into things here and there, but no damages or anything. For the way she cleans, and the easiness of having her clean, I would give her a 5-star review……. But that leads me to the dislikes (it’s really one major dislike – but it really ruins everything about the machine)…. The App sucks – mostly when it comes to connecting to, and staying connected to the machine. I have a very strong internet signal at my house, and rarely have issues with any internet-connected items I have. This robot, however, just does not stay connected, and there really isn’t any easy way to simply reconnect (at least none that I can find). You have to go in through the App, and delete the machine, and then re-add it in order to re-connect to the internet. It wouldn’t be too bad if this happened periodically, but it’s everyday – and now, I just don’t bother anymore, I just hit the clean button to have her do her work! If it was just the App, and connection issues, I would make this review a 0-star! But the 2 issues put together give it my 3-star rating……. I plan to purchase another machine in the near future, but not sure if I will go with Shark again, as I really like the internet connectivity features – they are pretty important to me…. I have several robot vacuums and I can absolutely recommend this one, it cleans well and the navigation is also really good. I'm also going to talk about something that isn't common because my situation is unique. I'm a blind person and can't read print. I use an Iphone which has a built in screen reader called Voiceover which allows a person to use the touch screen if they can't see it. Basically, it allows you to touch anywhere on the screen and hear the item that you have touched, or you can swipe a finger left and right to move through the items on the screen. To activate the item that was spoken, you double tap anywhere on the screen. Depending on how apps are designed, some applications will read better than others. The Eufy home app works really well with Voiceover. I had no problem creating an account and setting up my robot. I also have no problem sending the bot out to clean or changing its settings. The main setting I wanted to change was to set the cleaning power to the highest setting, I figure if the robot has the power, why not use it? The one thing I can't do is use the features that require you to draw on the map but that's the way it is with all robot vacuums, there is no way to speak that kind of information. I always prefer to clean my entire place so for me this is not a concern. This is a great robot vacuum and I could not be happier with it.Mike A.

I've had a few robot vacuums over the past few years. I've tried the big names like Neato D-Vacs / Roombas ($400-$700 range) and I found that while they had great suction power and capacity, their navigation abilities made them useless. All the cleaning power in the world means nothing if your robot vacuum never makes it back to it's base to charge and you're stuck hunting for it to carry it home everyday. I got this Eufy G30 Verge on a special buy price of $169 down from the usual $350, and it absolutely blows all of the other robot vacuums I've tried out of the water. It's very deceiving when you first fire it up since it's extremely thin and makes very little noise. I actually tried feeding it a couple dust bunnies to make sure it was on because it was so quiet. Despite this, 30mins into letting it map my house, I had to empty the dust bin because it was full….. with dust and hair (as seen in the pic)…. that was still on my floor without me being able to see it after manually vacuuming the day before. It ran for about an hour and generated a full map of my 1000 square foot condo before heading back directly to it's dock to charge. You can watch it generate the map using the app, and you can see that it uses that map to navigate your home perfectly. It moved in clean lines and then shot to areas of the condo that had missing boundaries on the map to fill in the data. Its very clear watching this bot move that it's far more intelligent than non-mapping bots, especially those that just bump around forever. SUMMARY The compact and stylish Eufy G30 Verge is the king of navigating homes and always making it back to its dock. While it may lack the power and capacity of some of it's larger robot vacuum rivals such as the Neato D-Bot or Samsung models, it is more than capable of ridding your low-pile carpet and hard floors of hair and dust. Although I wouldn't recommend this for homes with operating areas larger than 1000 square feet or large levels of hair and debris like food, this is the perfect bot vac for areas less than 1000 square feet that is generally clean but you would like to maintain. This isn't a miracle worker that can deep clean your floors, but with a price tag of under $200 it's an absolute steal.Alex

I usually love the brand, Eufy. I have had two now. My first one is the first edition and it lasted a few years before it started to be really loud. It still sucked (literally sucked, not it was bad, sucked), but was too loud. So, I bought this one to replace my old one. I put my old one upstairs and kept this one downstairs. First off, it was a fantastic robot. It sucked everything up really well! It was really quiet and really fast. I keep really good care of everything I own. So, I regularly cleaned the filter and cleaned the wheels and did maintenance on to keep it going good. The warranty ran out at 12 months and at 13-14 months my little robot stopped sucking as well and became really loud. I contacted the Eufy corporate office and they told me a bunch of things to do to help the robot. So, I cleaned everything again and the problem stayed the same. I replied again and they offered me a discount. I explained that I think I might have a faulty one because my other one has lasted for years. Also, I did not want to buy another one for it to stop working at 13 months. They then offered a replacement kit, which contained brushes. I already had bought brand new brushes and I knew that this was not the problem. It stopped sucking up debris, so brushes were not what I needed. I explained all of this to them and they said that there warranty is for 12 months and I can honor the discount and that is all they can do. They and I were very polite to each other, but we just do not agree. I normally only review if an item was good, but I just did not want someone else to buy this and have it not work one to two months after the warranty runs out.CJ

I was skeptical that a battery powered vacuum could get results similar to a regular corded vac. I was right. It picks up surface stuff fairly well but is no substitute for a real vacuum. Having said that, we do find it very useful for cleaning up pet hair. We leave it to run in a room when we are gone and the receptacle has a good amount of dist and hair in it. It keeps the carpet a little cleaner between vacuuming. The sweeping pattern is totally random and it tends to stay in one spot for a long time before moving on. When it encounters an obstacle it does an almost full turn and collides with the same object. If you leave it in one small room. block off the areas under dressers and such that it tends to get lodged under, it's handy enough. Our side sweeper brush motor burned out after four months and I read that it should be taken out and cleaned regularly. This is not mentioned in the instructions. For this much money you can buy a mid-range upright which I would recommendSteveC

Overall I found that this unit clean the floors and rugs extremely well. Better than my upright. Here are some things I've learned. Even though it is relatively low profile it has gotten stuck under my couch and dresser. However, it does clean in tight areas under furniture given sufficient clearance that I don't normally clean that often. I found that the battery does not last the claimed 90 minutes nor does it know when to return to the charging station when the battery level is low so it just dies wherever. The phone app is unreliable primarily due to losing the wi-fi connection to the unit. I found doing selective room cleaning to be best by closing doors and limiting the area where it cleans. I wouldn't leave it running unattended until you get familiar with where it could get stuck. I would minimize clutter or other items on the floor that it could get caught on such as shoes laces or appliance wires, etc. While not as noisy as my upright, there is a constant sound level that some may find disturbing. One can still talk on the phone while it is running. Hey it has a motor… Navigation looks totally dumb as it will go over the same area a few times, but then one is assured that the area is clean. No matter I am happy with the vacuum as it saves me the time from dragging out the upright and from manually vacuuming. Instead I can be doing other things while it is working away!Mike

Doesn't vacuum in any organized fashion whatsoever….basically goes all over the place, like it's drunk. Unfortunately, it also goes over the same spots a few times but leaves some spots untouched. I still have to take out my regular vacuum for those and for the carpet (which I knew it doesn't vacuum carpets). It saves me a bit of time I guess because while it vacuums like a drunken sailor, I can do something else and when it's done, I go over what it did and finish with the carpet. Wherever it DOES vacuum, it does a good job and picks up everything, so that's a plus for sure. Good thing it wasn't more than I paid though – not sure yet if I regret this purchase.Adela

I got this on sale from Target after watching its price for a while. This seems to be the best combination of (relative) affordability and performance on the market from the professional review sites I looked at beforehand. Taking it home and running it, I found that it actually performs much better than my old upright vacuum with zero hassle. I have it vacuuming areas of tile, utility carpet, and medium carpet in my 1200 sqft apartment. It does an excellent job with all of these surfaces. If I have it vacuum the whole place, it does need to charge about mid-way and maybe empty a couple times in the middle, which I think is reasonable considering that we have a dog and it is picking up a bunch of hair each time. Regarding specific gripes in other reviews: yes, the emptying sound is loud (but not jet engine, more like the volume of a regular vacuum) but only lasts a few seconds. I find that it picks up dog hair pretty well. It also handles thresholds/rug edges fine at about 1cm. It bumps into things when learning, of course, but not with much force contrary to some reviews. As for the learning, it didn't take much for it to master my oddly-shaped layout between the rooms and the furniture in them. I definitely would spring for the base instead of just getting the bot. That way you can truly start it and forget about it instead of having to manually empty a few times as it putters around. Overall: 100% recommend with no regrets and I wish I had gotten one sooner.thebandageman

I bit the bullet and upgraded from a dumb robot vacuum (ecovacs N7) to this smart robot vacuum because it was on sale for $200 off MSRP. Three months later and I've been completely satisfied with the upgrade. Thanks to the mapping feature on the J7 I was able to replace 2 existing vacuums and know that my entire upstairs got cleaned. The old vacuum would get stuck in a room because it couldn't find the door and keep cleaning the same area till it ran out of power. The self emptying dust bin is a great time saver and means less maintenance each week. The sensors and programming are much better at keeping the J7 from getting stuck and having to be rescued. I'm not thrilled about sharing my floorplan and cleaning schedules with iRobot, or any company. The roombas are very expensive. Even more expensive if you have multiple floors and need daily cleaning in all areas and have to get multiple vacuums. It's brushes will leave a few little twists of felted up hair behind if you have pets, long hair, or both so it's not a pristine clean unless you have it do a deep clean every time. However, I am more than willing to deal with those negatives for all the benefits that this robot vacuum offers over my old robot vacuums. If you want to see if a robot vacuum is for you I'd suggest getting a cheap one to try with for a year or two. No robot vacuum is perfect or capable of competing with a traditional vacuum. If you can accept the compromises though and find them beneficial then I would highly recommend getting this model when it's on sale. I can't say if it's really worth it over other models at the full MSRP though.JoshuaNormal

Let me tell you how great this little guy (or girl) is. In the year 2018, I decided to get my self a furry companion. I wont bore with the details on how I named her but her name is Rona. Little did I know, Rona was going to be the dog equivalent of a hurricane except instead of rain and wind, shes a fur and farts. Also, little did I know, there was going to be a world pandemic 2 years later that would take her nickname "Rona season" to a whole new level. But let me tell you, my dog dogs fur could go toe-to-toe with covid on who spreads faster. At this point I may have lost you, but every great story has a detailed set up. With our move into a new home that is immensely larger than our previous studio in the city, we knew we could not keep up with cleaning. In comes Victor, our new iRobot i7 vacuum. After a short issue connecting to our wifi (my fault, not victors), we got this little guy (possibly girl) up and rolling. With in a day, victor new our new floor plan faster than I could mow the front lawn (its really small #colorado). Speaking of colorado, victor has no issue with high altitude contrary to unpopular belief. All in all, victor has saved us from the pain of vacuuming. I set victor up to run in the morning and evening and he (could be a she) is looking skinnier than even. I find my self watching victor vacuum like my old neighbor used to watch me vacuum. Except he was outside looking in. Highly recommend the purchase. You wont regret it.Kyle

Great vacuuming assistant – 4.5 stars in our opinion. Have had it now 4 months. Background: mostly one level house with laminate and tile floors, couple of throw rugs. Dining room has table with 6 chairs. Kitchen counter has 3 pedestal stools. When we down sized to this house kept minimal furniture. One border Collie. Roughly 2500 sq ft that we want robot to maintain (excludes stairs and room over garage). Here's our experience: to best use the robot, let it map your house. Then divide house into rooms. Rather than let the robot clean the entire house , clean by specific jobs that include 3-4 rooms so the robot can complete it without having to stop and recharge. To get the best clean in the quickest time, move portable items into rooms not on the cleaning job list. For example, we move the six dining room chairs to the sunroom. This cuts the cleaning time by about 1/3 as the robot can vacuum straight lines, rather than try to work its way around multiple chair legs. It also ensures that the robot can get under the table completely. We do a similar thing with the sunroom's high top stools. For the pedestal stools in kitchen, we pull them out so the robot can make a pass without trouble under the counter. The robot will climb the smooth base to clean them. For us with the dog, a bag fills in about a month. The robot can't get onto the fireplace hearth or go over the triple sliding glass door track that leads to the sunroom. Nor will it do behind open doors that are flush to walls. So you still need a broom or handheld wand. Buy on sale!2oldtohear

 I don’t need to move my mats off the floor in the kitchen or the bathroom, pick my shoes up off the floor if I don’t want to or that shirt sitting over in the corner, I don’t have to worry it’s going to get stuck under at the bed because it does a great job navigating whatever it is under the bed and not only does it do a great job it identifies by taking a picture of whatever item is under there, and with a percentage of certainty it can assess what that item is not always great by does a pretty darn good job. It is by far, as other reviewers have noted, leaps and bounds …. ARTEMIS SIZE… GALACTICLY SUPERIOR to ANY other vacuum. And then, to add an amazing mop that is utilized simultaneously with the vacuuming feature, and the ability to customize from a light mop job to a extra duty session— YESSSSS nailed it in execution, nailed it in design, and nailed it in understanding the deficiencies of the current technologies on the market, and then bring the technology market 🙂 Summarized, and in general, I have been pretty darn critical of most of them tech purchases in the past 10 years because of shifty retailers, manufactures, ad campaigns, all implying, amazing features and benefits that blend into a disappointment and waste. If not a complete failure. It’s usually what is implied by the manufacture, but not stated that leaves disappointment in execution. And then, of course, there are the glaring issues, confronting consumers in the marketplace by way of the retailers, not Best Buy that don’t care about the customer enough to mandate that pro product descriptions are actually in English enough to understand but to me that basically means that a manufacture doesn’t really care about the American consumer at all because if they did, they would find somebody who speaks English enough to write a manual for whatever product and to write print and advertise that product in a way that respects the customer and doesn’t make them have to read between the lines or reword, poor grammatical errors, because of a lack of regard that upsets me more than anything so I’m very glad to have retailers that are still around like Best Buy where I know specifications for a product are going to be the specs for the product. Anyway, the bottom line is, this is a win. I’m pleased, and I have not been pleased in the product and I can say this pretty certainly in a very, very long time, so great job, Robo rock. You know this industry segment is still very young when the best robot vacuum by far which is this S7 MaxV Ultra has quite a few areas to improve on but all in all. I LOVE IT! This is advanced AI coupled with top level engineering at its finest for robot vacuum cleaners. At this point, Roborock is Roborock's biggest competitor – however, there's def room for improvement. Below is everything the bot does really well that are selling points. For the "Needs to improve" I'll indicate whether these are software fixes or hardware changes which means you'd have to wait for the next version and hope the changes are built in as part of the bots physical hardware component. Best Features – Intuitive UI & navigation software packed with useful features (3D map, 2 way calling, etc) – Ability to auto fill bot with water, auto empty dustbin and wash mop – Great battery life (my experience) – On board video camera to see where bot is cleaning – Carpet detection feature with mop auto lift – AI obstacle recognition, avoidance & tagging – Room recognition with machine learning capabilities. – Various cleaning configuration settings Needs to improve – Show water levels in app (hardware fix) – Increased suction doesn't do much for carpets. Still misses threads and small particles from time to time. (hardware fix) – Ability to copy routines and schedules (software fix) – Ability to save zones just like we do with rooms (software fix) – Ability to rearrange routines order so they show up on the homescreen shortcut in the order we want (software fix) – Ability to delete rooms (software fix) – App update for things like: Create shortcut for schedules on home screen for quicker access (software fix), Ability to select custom shape for zone cleaning, currently square shape (software fix), etc. – Bigger tires to clear higher obstacle climbs. I figured I would give this a try. Few things, this does not have mapping, so I couldn't set up a schedule to send it to a specific area of the house each day. It doesn't get as stuck as I hear others do but it isn't a seamless clean. The slight banging against walls, furniture, cabinets was irritating and it isn't loud but it isn't quiet either. Personally I can't run it if I am on the phone or trying to focus on a task. However, I ran it once and I thought my house was clean but it had to go back to the dock because the dust bin was full. When I opened it I was appalled. This solidified that I needed something like this. The plus side of this device is that the profile is low enough that it does fit under my entertainment center, couch, dressers and bathroom vanity– areas that I don't dust/sweep regularly. For this reason alone, I can't say enough great things. Our home is all tile 1200 sq ft with 2 small dogs that don't shed a ton but I do have to empty the dust bin every run. It also can't clean the entire house in one charge – it has to go back to to the dock to charge to finish the job. This does not replace vacuuming but it is great to run in the middle of the week to help maintain the house.VonBon

I love this robot vacuum, make my life so much easier.. You don’t know how much dust is in your house until you use one of these. For everyone in the fence of getting one, GET IT! I have had about 3 different models in the past, this one i1 from irobot / Roomba does the job pretty good. The color is different from my previous one this one is a neutral gray/brown color, matches better my walls (aggregable gray) . We just moved to a new house that we recently made some remodeling and there was dust everywhere!. We left the Roomba working during the night, before we moved it, and it did a great job, clean the whole house. The wifi /app is definitely a plus. My older model didn’t had that. Noise Level is around the same, maybe slightly lower than the older model , but again, we usually put it work when we are not home or at night. Note: Its compatible with clean base (automatic dirt disposal), so we are definably thing kin getting the base to make the work of cleaning Roomba much easier, according to the manual we would only have to clean it once or tice a month, that is awesome.Oscar

I absolutely adore my new iRobot Roomba i1!!! This robot vacuum has been a game changer for my busy household of 5! I used to sweep/vacuum my house every 2 days, sometimes every day. With small kids and pets in the house, my floors need attention all the time! My Roomba has saved me so much time and energy! Right out of the box, it was easy to set up. I figured out where I wanted the Roomba to be based and plugged in the charging base. Then I put the Roomba on the base to charge. While I was waiting for the Roomba to charge, I downloaded the app and named my Roomba. Her name is Ethel 🙂 Boom! Setup complete! You can start and run the Roomba without the app, but I wanted the full experience, so I opted for the app. The app is pretty easy to use as well. Once I had my Roomba named and went through some minimal registration information, all I had to do is tap a button and the Roomba will vacuum everywhere it has access to. I have run the Roomba several times now, and I am impressed. The first time I ran it, it took over an hour to do my house, but gradually it has gotten more efficient at moving through the house. Now, if the floors aren’t too dirty, it takes less than 45 min. The versatility and flexibility are probably my favorite features. It easily goes over my hardwoods, linoleum and even over my rugs! It knows when it’s at a step, and won’t go over the edge, but easily navigated over the threshold that separates my hardwoods from the linoleum in the kitchen. I have a toddler at home and often when he naps, I clean. So a few times I have closed his door to keep the Roomba from waking him/vacuuming his room him while he’s sleeping. The roomba still goes into his room the next time I give it access and it cleans it well. It recognizes when a floor is more dirty than normal and will go over an area a couple of times to be sure it has gotten the mess. On the app it’s called a ‘dirt event’. My 9 year old has had a few ‘dirt events’ in his room lol! I love how well the Roomba reaches under furniture and in corners! It’s easy to empty the dust bin. Push a button on the outside ring of the Roomba and it swings open for dumping. No mess. The app lets you know how it went when the Roomba gets done with a job. It also lets you know all about any jobs the Roomba runs. You can see how long it ran, if and where any ‘dirt events’ occurred, if the dust bin needs to be emptied, if the Roomba needed to charge in the middle of its job, how much area it covered and you can even see a neat blueprint of the flooring it covered! You can also use the app to set up a cleaning schedule! You can set it to run when it’s most convenient for you! I love my Roomba so much. I didn’t know what I was missing! Like most folks these days I did some research before making this purchase. To be honest, there are so many robo vacuums both name brand named and unbrandes. This model is unique in that it both mops amd vacuums. Few actully do both. The price, comparitively speaking, is great compared to those that do leas amd cost twice as much. I am impressed with the job it does. Far above what i was hoping for. The mopping is amazing as well. The battery even lasts almost twice as long as advertised. I cannot think of a single negative attribute with this model. Im very pleased and will buy another when the time comes.MattMcG

This things is a life saver! Thankfully I purchased one, it helps where I don’t have to sweep as often. With dogs and kids it was just another chore and hassle . But I brought this vacuum and helps so much. It’s dumb at times and get stuck in corners, but I’ll be ok.amber.v

I loved how this valcume picked up. Wasn't impressed with the mop option. But I ended up returning it because the charger/ charging port started not working all the time. The return process has been horrible. First I had to wait for them to email me back, then was offered a discount if I used warranty and now its going to be 10 to 13 days to get my refund. If Wal-Mart is going to sale items on their page please back the product by allowing returns directly through you.laura

Hard to argue with the price, as I got this for 90 on Home Deliveries USA they had a 60 coupon you could click. I helped my parents get a much nicer one, but I needed to save the money and knew I was sacrificing some capabilities, particularly after helping them set theirs up. This thing gets the job 80% done. No mapping capabilities so it doesn’t track its location. Pretty sure the charging base uses radio frequency communication, which the robot only reads once within about 5-7 feet. You can see it realizes it’s finally near it, and then it tries to line itself up. Vacuum power is a little weak and misses items such as cat litter on hard floors pretty easily. Without a roller brush, the vacuum is going to miss things here and there. It’s also very basic programming, and will struggle to get back to its base. It will even knock it’s own base around during cleaning and sometimes make it impossible to get back to its base, so you’ll want to adhere it to the floor. I have a U shaped apartment, and if it ever ends its cleaning cycle in the opposite side of the U, it has a long journey of bumps and confusion trying to find its way back to the charging base on the opposite side of the U. I also had to buy furniture risers rubber pads because if it could just barely fit under something, it would turn itself off. The power button is easy to press under furniture and then you have to find the bugger just sleeping under your couch, so add some adhesive bumpers around the power button, and that’s resolved. Although I was concerned it wasn’t doing much at all at first, I found during cleaning that it has a substantial amount of mess inside it’s tank, and cleaning the filters was fairly easy. Plus, when I get tired of it bumping around endlessly trying to find its base, which it eventually does most times, you can use the app as a remote controller, which is a critical feature in my opinion. If I want to ensure my bedroom is hit, I can drive it there first and then let.Matt

I have a small apartment and 3 cats. I had to vacuum daily to keep up. I’d always found robot vacs to be out of reach because of the high cost. Now you can pick up a decent machine for less than the cost of a good regular vacuum. The xiaomi robot vac is fantastic it traverses small obstacles like edge of rugs and the lip onto the tiles of my bathroom. The robot easily picks up cat hair, kitty litter, crumbs and more with a single pass and the dust bin is large enough to clean my 2 rooms bathroom and hallway once maybe even twice. The robot accurately maps my apartment intellectually segmenting and efficiently cleaning every corner of the room. With 4 operating powers the vac can silently move about at lowest suction to moving about at the same noise of a regular vac at its highest suction. The robot has no issues slowing down and avoiding pets moving about the house. My cats hated the regular vacuum noise but love the robot, following the robot around fascinated.Clint K

It is quite easy to set up and links with various weather services. Some of them are quite esoteric to set up and others such as weather underground really easy. The station needs some skill to install since it needs to be stable, level and away from any interference so placement is important. The outdoor sensor unit is a single unit with all of the sensors inbuilt. You may want to spray the outdoor unit with surface spray to stop spiders nesting in the rain gauge. It has a battery backup but its primary power source is a solar panel which chargers a supercap (super capacitor which holds charge to power the sensor pack). The supercap replaces what would normally be a lithium battery, the advantage being that a supercap will not degrade over time as a lithium battery would. The only servicing required would be to replace the backup batteries and clean spiders et al from the sensors. The spikes on the rain collector are a nice touch but I think it needs some hot melt glue to hold it in place since it has slipped down on mine. The outdoor sensor unit communicates with the base station using wireless (not WiFi) and the base unit connects to your local WiFi network. The base unit uses WiFi to send its data to the various services that you connect it to. There is an app (iOS or Android) which is used to set it up and once set up you can get basic sensor data in the app. Using your weather service of choice you can see current sensor data and history for as long as it has been running. Some of the services also have apps which you can use to see the sensor data. You can also set up your own database to record the sensor data. The quality is fine given that it is not the most expensive station but it is good for the price. There are far more accurate weather stations but again they are a lot more expensive. Overall it is quite easy to set up and quite reliable but will benefit from regular maintenance such as cleaning, reapplying the surface spray and replacing the backup batteries to ensure it remains operational.jhancock1955

After reading the previous reviews I decided to purchase this one and I'm not disappointed. Great little robot cleaner – does an excellent job to keep the floor clean in between major vac. The app is fairly simple – I haven't mastered the zone cleaning set up yet so I just turn on and let it do it's thing. I was amazed at how much it picked up in it's first clean. Didn't receive the AUS power cord and had to chase up but Kogan Customer Service was very responsive and I received the cord in a few days. I would definitely recommend this productHonnie B

Let me tell you how great this little guy (or girl) is. In the year 2018, I decided to get my self a furry companion. I wont bore with the details on how I named her but her name is Rona. Little did I know, Rona was going to be the dog equivalent of a hurricane except instead of rain and wind, shes a fur and farts. Also, little did I know, there was going to be a world pandemic 2 years later that would take her nickname "Rona season" to a whole new level. But let me tell you, my dog dogs fur could go toe-to-toe with covid on who spreads faster. At this point I may have lost you, but every great story has a detailed set up. With our move into a new home that is immensely larger than our previous studio in the city, we knew we could not keep up with cleaning. In comes Victor, our new iRobot i7 vacuum. After a short issue connecting to our wifi (my fault, not victors), we got this little guy (possibly girl) up and rolling. With in a day, victor new our new floor plan faster than I could mow the front lawn (its really small #colorado). Speaking of colorado, victor has no issue with high altitude contrary to unpopular belief. All in all, victor has saved us from the pain of vacuuming. I set victor up to run in the morning and evening and he (could be a she) is looking skinnier than even. I find my self watching victor vacuum like my old neighbor used to watch me vacuum. Except he was outside looking in. Highly recommend the purchase. You wont regret it.Kyle

Great vacuuming assistant – 4.5 stars in our opinion. Have had it now 4 months. Background: mostly one level house with laminate and tile floors, couple of throw rugs. Dining room has table with 6 chairs. Kitchen counter has 3 pedestal stools. When we down sized to this house kept minimal furniture. One border Collie. Roughly 2500 sq ft that we want robot to maintain (excludes stairs and room over garage). Here's our experience: to best use the robot, let it map your house. Then divide house into rooms. Rather than let the robot clean the entire house , clean by specific jobs that include 3-4 rooms so the robot can complete it without having to stop and recharge. To get the best clean in the quickest time, move portable items into rooms not on the cleaning job list. For example, we move the six dining room chairs to the sunroom. This cuts the cleaning time by about 1/3 as the robot can vacuum straight lines, rather than try to work its way around multiple chair legs. It also ensures that the robot can get under the table completely. We do a similar thing with the sunroom's high top stools. For the pedestal stools in kitchen, we pull them out so the robot can make a pass without trouble under the counter. The robot will climb the smooth base to clean them. For us with the dog, a bag fills in about a month. The robot can't get onto the fireplace hearth or go over the triple sliding glass door track that leads to the sunroom. Nor will it do behind open doors that are flush to walls. So you still need a broom or handheld wand. Buy on sale!2oldtohear

The cleaner itself is an excellent replacement for the monster cylinder vacuum we already had, which was too big to be stored anywhere in our fairly small house. I wanted a cleaner which would go under much of our furniture which sits 10cm above the floor, and which has been a no-go area for vacuum cleaners since time began. It's remarkable the way it scuttles under the furniture and meticulously cleans in the corners and around furniture legs. Our floors have never been cleaner. It's true that it can't do the stairs and it's hopeless at getting cobwebs from the ceiling(!) but I've bought a lightweight vacuum for those two areas. The remote control is good, but is very much line-of-sight. I wanted to put the docking point beneath some furniture but I had to kneel on the floor with the remote in order to control it! Then there's the app which is a disgrace to be associated with Miele. Simply getting it paired was a trial; after attempting over several days and a long phone call with Miele, they eventually suggested returning the vacuum to John Lewis, which I did. Surprisingly, since it's the same software, the replacement did successfully pair. But several emails to Miele and another long phone call still hasn't enabled me to tell it "where you want it to clean" (quote from the App Store). If only Miele put a little investment into sorting out this problem and linking the app to Alexa and Google Home, this would be a killer product. As it is, there are probably better products on the market for a similar price.daveoftruro

We have wooden floors throughout and this cleans very well. We have a part time springer also and a daily auto clean function picks pet hairs up really well. Positives,- saves hours vacuuming, good for hard floors, cleans for one hour, good coverage . Negatives- small dust compartment ( I empty after every 1-2 cleans), battery works harder on carpet ( we don't have much but I imagine this is where a lot more power would be used and runtime less). App is dreadful, rang technical support who couldn't get it to work either, eventually I switched it from iPad to iPhone and it now works fine.L Harper

Set it up according to the directions on the app. It mapped the house just fine. Started the app and it says it needs to update the firmware. Begin the update and it continuously times out the connection. Have tried for 3 days to no avail. I have emailed the companies tech support, but they do not answer back. Until this issue is fixed the app is useless.Frank
