20 Best Self Propelled Lawn Mower With Electric Start (Jan 2023 Update)

Not the exact model; mine came with 40V 5Ah battery and charger. I bought the 15in 40V 2Ah trimmer as well. First the un-boxing, no issues whatsoever. easy to take out of box, lift the handle and secure together. All the while charging the batteries which didn't take as long as expected. Both items easy to crank, both have a ton of power, and they can use each others battery if needed. Yard was not mowed all winter and had some bushy weed spots with other grassy spots. Mower has the capability to provide more power through thicker cuts and it worked. In some of the weed spots the mower shut off because of thickness of weeds and me getting used to mowing with an electric mower. My wife used as well and thinks this is the best mower and trimmer purchase made….EVER. She could barely get any of the gas guzzlers cranked anytime she tried. Only had for a week so far but, very impressed by the power of both the mower and trimmer. Hopefully these last as long as the reviews say. Greenworks website says 4 year warranty (https://www.greenworkstools.com/warranty) for all their products hope that's true as well. Will get the blower and pole trimmer next payday hopefully. I was quite pleased with the performance of this mower. I bought it to mow an embankment next to my house that has a slope of 20 to 30 degrees across it. It is also sparsely populated with weeds and new grass that has not taken very well yet. It is several thousand square feet in size. I have a similar GW battery mower that is not self powered. I could not manage to push that one across the slope. This new mower is amazing. It went up the slope, down the slope, and across the slope with ease. I could get about 15 minutes of runtime on a 4.0Ah battery. It took several recharges on two batteries to mow the whole thing. A couple of the new 6.0Ah batteries would have ran for 45 minutes, which would have me needing a rest. I should point out that this was in mulch mode.eMowerMan

I was hesitant at first, after reading the issues with the self propelled. You do have to disengage when making a turn, or it will hop and dig up the grass. When you re-engage it, it does take a moment to get up to full speed. But, I have learned how to re-engage while making the turn. There is a gear that engages the back wheel. The only time I have had extra effort to push it, is when that gear is engaged. As soon as that gear disengages, it pushes just like a non-propelled. So, there is a learning curve. But, once you have it worked out, the self propelled is GREAT. I am a big fan of Greenworks. They have advanced electric mowers a lot. After the 2nd or 3rd mowing, you will have it figured out when to engage or disengage. My old mower had 2 batteries and would automatically switch to the 2nd battery after the 1st one was empty. This one, you do have to physically switch the batteries which takes less the 10 seconds. I have over a 1/2 acre. Smaller yards may not need 2 batteries, and this point would be moot.Mowerboy

Bought this mower with auto drive on 06/20/16 to use to cut my 1/2 acre lawn which is mostly sloped at 30 degrees. Used it for 6 years till 07/27/22 when I took it in as the wheels were locking up when turning around. Dealer said the frame was cracked at the rear transmission/drivetrain area and could not be fixed. Mower worked great covering the hillside yard when running properly. Had to replace carbs, three times as mower engine would start surging. When mower ran properly it was great but I just think it had too many problems with carburetor and rear drivetrain issues. Over the 6 years I used it for 188 mows with 274 hours on mower (yes I keep track). Disappointed that deck cracked causing me to have to buy a new mower. Not that Honda deserves a second chance, I upgraded and now bought their commerical model #HRC216HXP @ $1658.95 OTD. Prior to moving to Alabama I lived in Arizona and had two John Deere push mowers that I used from February 1993 till June 2016 (after moving to Alabama in Nov 2015) and never had one issue other than changing the oil, filter and replacing tires and blades when needed. Would of gone with John Deere but they don't have self propelled lawn mowers. Hopefully this commercial model will serve me well…ChopperBob

I have a large yard in the city, and also mow for several neighbors who have limited mobility. I bought a new Honda HR214 self propelled mower in 1983 and I have mowed with it every year for the last 39 years. In that time I broke the handle twice, broke the starting rope twice, replaced the two drive wheels, replaced the spark plug once, and replaced the control cables once. To this day that mower still starts on the first pull. Three years ago the motor started to smoke each time that I started it. It would smoke for a couple minutes and then stop smoking and I would mow with it. I said all of this so it would be clear that when I wanted a new mower it would have to be another Honda. This year I decided it was just time to replace my mower. I cleaned up my old HR214 and gave it to my neighbor, who is still using it. I went to my favorite dealership, City Tractor Co. in North Liberty, Iowa and said I wanted the best Honda mower they had. They sold me the HRX217HZA with electric start and hydrostatic drive. I brought the mower home and put it right to work. I was immediately surprised by how much nicer it is than my old mower. It is lighter and more powerful, and the twin blades cut up the grass clippings finer so they make excellent mulch. The design of the catch bag is larger than my old mower so it holds more grass clippings. The hydrostatic drive has multiple speeds compared to the two speeds I had on my old mower. A Honda engine is not hard to pull start, but the electric start is just an added luxury. My only regret is that it did not buy this mower sooner.Rick

I purchased the HYA model mower in March 2022 as I have a large back yard with a hill and needed assistance with a self propelled mower. I wanted the lever instead of the dial to control the throttle. I appreciate the blade stop function which keeps me from pull starting the mower just to empty the bag. The dual blade cut provides a even and this mower is a great vacuum for small debris left in the yard. This mower is a BREAST and not the elderly folks. Its not light to make sharp turns and required some strength. The front does lift up when the bag gets full which just reminds you its time to empty the bag. I don't mind the individual wheel adjustment as I'm not having to adjust my wheels frequently. I installed a hour meter to track the hours for maintenance reasons. Easy to clean and change the oil. Looks nice! Not sure about the white grass bag for grass. maybe black would have been a better choice. This is not a light mower your going to toss around. Love the deck design, material and color scheme. Easy to pull start. Overall, Great Mower!!SlyB

My seller, ACME TOOLS got the product (LM2022SP) to me in perfect condition way more quickly than I anticipated. 2022 is actually a "KIT" composed of The LM2020SP mower, the 7.5amp battery, and the Rapid charge charger. Because of a medical issue, I went from a SP gas mower to a gas riding mower. Once my medical issues got "fixed", and because I never did like the way my riding mower worked, I went back to self-propelled walk-behind but I detest the gas and oil and other maintenance associated with gas so I purchased the LM2022SP. At high speed, this mower can pull me almost off my feet. I typically do my perimeter at a notch lower than high speed and I use high speed once the edges and corners have been mowed. I am well pleased with the mowing and bagging performance. I like to keep my grass tall so I try to mow every three or four days. I did not have any concerns about battery life of the 7.5amp battery because I have another EGO tool which came with a 7.5 amp battery, but I got front back and sides mowed this week with one battery charge. I believe I am on 1/3 to 1/2 acre, including house. I have not yet tried mulching or side-discharge. The POWER of this mower EXCEEDS my expectations.My neighbor from across the street came over to tell me that he could not believe how quiet my EGO Mower is.FrankO

I had to wait way too long to use this mower — I received it several weeks before my first mow but due to weather and other commitments, I hadn't been able to get out and use it until last Friday. I normally feel like I've just wrestled a bear after mowing my yard that is full of bumps, hills, and trees. It is not a fun task, though I overall enjoy mowing and being outside. My ideal mower is still the Lawnboys of my childhood — they were lightweight, dependable, and easy to maneuver. I think I may now have a new favorite! This mower had adequate power for mowing on the steep hills of my yard, and was lightweight enough that I didn't even use self-propelled unless I was going up a hill. Add on top of that, there was no gas to burn, no heat being generated, no terrible smells, no carburetor to clean or wonder if it was going to gunk up and cost me a small fortune to fix. I can't wait to get back out there again to mow. Oh, and one more point, this mower doesn't stir up all of the dust and pollen that my other mowers did — my wife has terrible allergies and it didn't bother her at all, unlike previous mowing experiences. So what was the one minor catch? It is a very minor one — when you pull the trigger to engage the self-propelled, there is a small delay and then it takes off. It took me about half of my yard to get used to this and it will probably annoy some people. But as stated, I ended up not even using it for the most part, so it didn't bother me at all. I got a little bit of extra exercise and didn't feel bad about polluting the environment. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an electric mower. I cannot state how long it will last or reliable that it will be, but my first impression is extremely positive!David A

I was very impressed by my EGO. I had never used one before finally uncreating out of the box two weeks ago (I bought in it December). My neighbor has had one for two seasons though I never even asked him how he liked us. I've had the EGO trimmer for two full seasons now and I love it. Anyway, back to my mower …. It's lightweight, the self-propel mechanism moves quick, and it cuts great. I've only had it in mulching mode these first few times and it has done great. My former Toro would clog up, especially during the early season mows, so it was great not to have to stop and start. The push bar is a comfortable height, I could go on and on. I suppose my only nit is that, despite it being lighter than any mower I've used previously, going around trees/gardens without the self-propel on can get just a little clumsy at times.FauxMaux

I found the mower up-to-task on my 1.2 acres, some sloped over 25 degrees. Traction excellent (rear wheel only on this model). I needed TWO batteries, as expected. So I exhaust the first and set it to charge…use the other. I actually exhausted the 2nd battery, but by then the first was already fully charged. Small rocks and sticks are inevitable, especially with the first mow on Spring, but the mower tolerated all well, ans dispatches small 1/8 inch twigs well (heavily treed areas here). Mulches well, not quite as well as my old walk behind gasoline model, but I'm happy with it. Rear tires tend to slip on soft ground, so I keep height setting to medium. Overall, this will work well. I cannot comment on longevity of the mower yet, but will update in a year or so. Equivalent otherwise with gasoline, so no worries. Won't likely use the bag attachment, which is smaller than I'd like. I just mulch and go. If mower becomes clogged with tall grass, motor speed increases, so that's a hint to watch to see that debris still exits the side chute. If none, time to stop the mower and clear chute/underside. Purchased this item a month ago. Mowed five times in a month, 3.5 acres. Lots to say here. First, I ordered a self propelled machine and got the push instead. Apparently out of the self propelled model and just sent me this one without asking. Well, despite 3.5 acres of mowing, I’ll take this one (push) as it seems to adjust to height of grass quickly and gives me more battery life time I assume. Second; the battery if used until it runs out is a solid 75 minutes of mowing. There are discrepancies in the ads saying 90 minutes and the manual saying 60 minutes. I’ll take the 75 minutes. It is an 80 volt 6 amp battery and does charge in an hour. So no complaints. Third, make sure to clean the under carriage frequently if grass is tall or moist. It builds up under there with grass gunk, and the motor just needs to be air cleaned after each use. Don’t use water. I find that doing this is not taking more time, rather a savings of time as it cleans faster than my gas mower did with all the particulars I had to check or fill (gas, oil). So I like this feature as well. Lastly, it appears to be durable. Blade is still sharp and doing its job. I’m impressed with that portion as well Overall it’s a smart purchase and trust me, a decision to go green that you won’t feel bad about.Mower Joe

This mower works well for small, wide-open yards with no walls or fences. It's easy to maneuver, easy to turn, and the battery is easy to plug in and detach and isn't bulky or heavy. The charger is great and very easy to use. The problem with spacing and walls is there is an inexplicable 6-inch wide "front bumper" on this mower that prevents you from pushing up closely against walls and fences, requiring you to turn the mower sideways to mow against a fence. This is not ideal or practical in most cases, because there simply isn't enough room. And that also makes this mower difficult to use in tight spaces, such as around shrubs. I'm not sure why this big gap exists on the front of the mower and have never seen it on any gas or electric mower I've used. The included 2W battery runs out, on average, in about 20 minutes, and takes 30-40 minutes to recharge. Obviously this isn't ideal, and on a yard larger than about 1/2 acre, you will be swapping out batteries a LOT and simply running out of juice. The charger cannot keep up with mowing and swapping. I knew this before buying, so it's hard to really complain, but buyers should have this info before buying and understand that this mower cannot be kept running continuously with two 2W batteries. There needs to be 10-30 minutes between each swap to make sure the new battery is fully charged. Overall, the mower is probably a little overpriced, but I suspect that's because the batteries are VERY expensive, and that is driving up the price of the mower. The cost of a new or battery alone is about the same price as a brand new gas mower. So considering that rechargeable lithium batteries always have a finite life, it remains to be seen whether the long-term cost of owning this mower is actually less than the cost of a gas mower. My initial estimate is that it will cost a lot more to buy and operate this mower over the long term (primarily because of periodic battery replacement) than a gas mower. So if you are interested in purely the cost-savings, this probably is not the answer. If your goal is to consume less or no fossil fuels, this is a great choice.BWSC

I wanted to wait at least a year before I wrote a review so here goes. I bought this mower last year to cut my nearly acre and a half flat yard. We have a lot of problems with drainage so I was constantly getting my riding mower stuck, plus the cost to repair it and the cost of gas was getting ridiculous. I was pretty much over the whole riding mower thing especially considering the environmental impact. I felt really guilty about having such a big yard when I read how much pollution the average lawnmower creates, and they only get something like seven or 8 miles to the gallon. Ugh. So I thought I’d give this a try and at least maybe cut my smaller front yard or as much as I could with it. Well it turns out it is so easy to use that I’m able to cut the entire thing. At this point I should probably also mention that I am 61 and a woman who is moderately fit. However my friend who is partially paralyzed and can only use one hand is able to operate this as well. As you can see by the picture due to the wetness it is often the case that the grass gets very high in the very back of our yard before we can get out and cut it. This mower had no problems although I suspect it wasn’t the greatest thing for it. I did have to make two passes but to be fair I think any mower would’ve been the same. Unless it is extremely hot or the grass is as tall as shown in the picture we can usually get it about 40 minutes before charging. And that is just enough time to take a little break before the next round of mowing. I like the fact that it isn’t very noisy and I can even mow at night if I need to. I like the improvement in my fitness since using this thing. I sit down at a computer all day so it’s great to just grab the mower at lunch and get a little workout in and it’s not strenuous really at all. As an added plus I’m able to track the exercise I use while mowing to get points for my insurance’s wellness program! So if you’re on the fence about going electric I highly recommend this mower, I love not having to get gas and all the other maintenance that that involves. For us it’s at least a 4 mile drive to the nearest gas station and it’s a royal pain. I can also mention that I bought a cheaper electric of a different brand and was not impressed – Which is why I did my homework before buying this one. I was EXTREMELY skeptical of a battery powered lawn mower, especially from a brand I had never heard of and would have never bought this if not for a glowing recommendation from a good friend. 3 months later, I have nothing but good things to say about the EGO Power+ LM2102SP-A 21 inch mower. Mostly, I wanted a lightweight, push button start mower to replace my 20 year old Craftsman. This was easily the lightest mower (gas or battery) that I considered. I think it's about 65 pounds. It's like pushing around a toy compared to my old mower. Sure, it's all plastic and may not last 20 years, but my Craftsman wouldn't have, either, without all kinds of repairs, duck tape and hose clamps. I love not even THINKING about gas, oil, air filters, priming or ear protection. I think my blow drier is louder. I worried about battery life, so I got the bundle with two 4.5 amp-hour batteries, thinking when one died, I could charge it while using the second. I have 3500-4000 sf of fescue and rye to mow and can do it all before the first battery dies, even when using the self propelled option the whole time. Maybe if all the grass was thicker, I would need the second battery. Yes, the charger charges really fast. I'd say it mulches about as well as my old mower. And it has no trouble pulling itself up the berm I have. It did take a little getting used to rear drive, but it seems most all self propelled mowers are rear drive now. I kept reading reviewers of other mowers complain about bagging issues, but this one has a wide enough chute, doesn't make a mess and the bag is much easier to empty than my old mower. Seems to be a roughly 2 bushel capacity. I really can't think of anything to dislike. It has plenty of (useful) blade height settings, plenty of speed settings and 3 handle settings. It folds up easily and can be stored vertically. I have no crystal ball to see how long the batteries will last, but so far it's been a great deal. No regrets.BatteryConvert

My gas self-propelled Honda started up every first time for 16+ years. I use it to trim where my yard tractor can't go. My hands/fingers/joints have osteoarthritis and this year they have really gotten bad. The first time I cranked up the Honda it hurt a lot and then having to push down with my thumbs to get it to self-propel, I knew I needed a change. This mower is easy to start for sure, quiet and the location/operation of the self-propel feature does not hurt my hands. It is lightweight and easy to turn etc. You can change the height of all four (4) wheels with just one (1) lever. The single battery provides more than enough of a charge to do what I needed it to do. The battery easily ejects so I can remove it and recharge. I bought it on sale at Lowe's and I'm very pleased so far with my purchase. I read a lot of reviews and was down to this mower and the GreenWorks with 80V two (2) large/heavy batteries. The GreenWorks had a super long warranty and was also on sale at Costco for the same $. I bought the GreenWorks and used it one time!!!! The lid on the battery compartment would not open too wide in order to get the batteries out to recharge them. I actually could NOT get the batteries out after the first use. It was NOT easy to operate and not lightweight. Very disappointed and I returned it. I am very pleased with this mower and look forward to using it for years to come.Jrvolover

it says in the manual to start it manually the first time. after adding oil (included) and fresh gas, I was just going to pull gently a couple of times to get gas in the carb and a bit of oil in the cylinder. I pulled gently, and I'll be, it kept going, and chugged it's way to a full start! first gentle pull! wow. the mow itself is great. it pulls strong, and goes faster than I wanted to go. but, speed is adjustable, so, no problem. I set it a bit below the high end (height) for the first mow. it just whizzes through higher grass. a bit heavy feeling when doing close in trim, but, I think I'll adjust. this is the best mower I've had in 20 years. hope it lasts. it looks like it should. well though out, with many small, very nice touches.nyg.nti.11anj4u

Starts reliably but rear drove wheels lock up when pulling backwards, and this seems to be a chronic problem with Honda walk-behind mowers. Have tried all of the tricks and adjustments but the problem persists. Flawed design??tedwmckim

When considering going to a battery operated mower I compared several models and manufacturers. The decision came down to this mower being made of steel not plastic and some favorable battery reviews. The size of my lawn and time to cut seemed to fit well within the advertised battery run time. Well a month and about 10 uses have revealed the battery is not good enough for normal yards. If one has a couple hundred square feet to cut this unit would be great. However, I am consistently only getting a run time of 30-40 minutes. That equates to only able to cut about 60% of my lawn. I have to stop, wait several hours to recharge the battery to be able to finish the job. I have read subsequent comments from Toro advising the consumer to adjust their cut width so the machine does not run at the higher speed thus saving the battery. That does not work at all! In summary, this is a good machine that cuts great, when it works. The battery is a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, I am past the time to return the machine and a second battery is around $360. Absolutely have buyers remorse.Jeffrey S

I have owned and used a gas-fired Toro for the past ten years. Age of the mower resulted in the need for more frequent repairs. The battery powered Toro offered me an opportunity to use a lighter-weight mower and to have a smaller impact environmentally. But, I am not 100% sold on the new Toto. Here's why: 1. With the bag attached, half of the grass goes over the front right wheel and onto the shaft of the mower rather than into the bag. 2. It would be helpful to include a numbering system to adjust the height of the cut as with the old gas-fired mower. 3. The height adjustment levers leave little room to change them and longer handles would avoid scrapping my hands as I change the height. 4. Height must be adjusted singularly for each wheel – that's a pain. 5. More than once, I have had to run the mower several times to pick up grass – each run decreases my battery. 6. The mower does not function well in taller grass that sometimes occurs when there has been a lot of rain and grass cutting goes over 8 or 10 days. 7. The mower cannot advance without the blade being engaged. This forces me to cut in some places where I am just moving from one location to another. 8. Grass tends to accumulate on the door to the collection bag and gets clogged periodically. 9. Starts quickly and easily – far less physical stress than with my gas-fired older mower. 10. Light weight, agile, and easy to maneuver.Kingfish42

Only entering a review as there was an insert in the box to "review to win" and the url doesn't exist. So hopefully they are still doing that as I desperately need to win a second battery for this 21466. After shelling out near $700 for a new mower, the first use ( yes after charging) was less than expected. I have a normal lawn, around 8000 sq ft. This is far less than the projection for what that battery can and should do. To have to go back to the store and fight for a 2nd battery or even deal with AI and online chat, or hold time on the phone to get one….more put on my shoulders as the consumer who could've bought any other brand. I am still giving 3 stars and here is why: Businesses maybe not so much a brand of this size with such a market share, rely on ratings and it isn't fair because I am not 100% satisfied doesnt mean I should bash…so 3 stars. I would say about 3 stars thus far but on the record as a solid 3 out of 5. I think there is a loss due to the weight being a true steel standard mower deck. The aluminum unit is far too out of my price range and it too is even possibly far too heavy and causes some strain on battery. Now there is a flip side to this, the plastic mowers out there have larger batteries that can go further but their ease of use isn't really there. Here is where I give points to Toro. Its a push pull in that you need the actual weight to 1. Feel and maneuver like a real mower and this does that. 2. The weight keeps the mower down and level to give a decent cut that the plastic models simply do. So its more positive than negative having the weight. I just wish they included 2 batteries. 1. Because you get to enjoy the mow and not worry about how fast you need to move before battery goes. a simple one battery for front, do it at your leisure, one battery for the back and do that at your leisure. With a 3 1/2 hour charge time….2 batteries should come with the mower. Especially stopping and starting, getting a cold drink in between. With this its hurry and run as fast as you can because you are on a clock versus a scenario where you have more time that you need in battery life. Most offer 60 plus minutes, this gave me around 35 and I couldn't get to my entire yard, had to recharge and pack it in for the day and now a second day to mow. Not a large yard at all. 2 – 7.5 ah batteries in the box day one and this mower would probably overtake the rest out there. Another thing I didn't care much for is the wires. Should be in a flexible harness as 1. It looks cheap and not a $700 unit. 2. They flop around and again takes focus off mowing to look down and make sure nothing is grinding up against the wheel or something else like a branch. the back wheels was another issue I didn't care for. Nearly impossible to see where you are placing the notches. The front wheels are standard but you almost need a flashlight and to squint to see where rear wheel settings are. Again 3 stars I would give it a solid 3. its good in some ways and flawed in others like any other product out there today. Rear flap tucks under mower often again having to stop and untuck it multiple times. for a $629 plus price point, a company around this long, competing late in a fairly well dominated space ( the battery operated space not simply the mower space) should have done better in areas I mentioned. Had this been $400 or $500 with 2 batteries, I would've felt I really had a long lasting gem of a unit. Instead I have an ok mower I can live with but don't love. Almost stressful as I cannot see battery, essentially running through my yard in fear of exactly what happened which was running out and making mowing a 2 day experience… could improve in many ways. By the time this posts they will have another more expensive model that addresses some of this stuff but since its already used I cannot return it and have to live with it and eventually have to shell out another $350 for a second battery when I strongly feel out of the box shouldve had everything a homeowner needs to get the job done. Raised wheels, ran, just didnt get all done at once. Again honest review, like several things like the look, the weighted feel of a standard mower, just some other areas where I feel like it failed me but own it now.jasonl

Pros & Cons This is my end of first season review, after approx 5 months of use. My previous recycling/muiching mower was a John Deere.( loved it!!) PROS: The electric start is nice especially when my right arm & shoulder pain is flaring up. I do use the pull cord at times too. The bigger motor is great when the grass is heavy and maybe a little damp. The personal pace speed control works very well. Changing from bagger to mulching is easy enough. I like the smart stow function and the easy to adjust / change handle set up It mulches nicely going forward, poorly if pulled backwards ( My JD mulched the same forward or backwards, which was very nice!) CONS: It NEVER starts with only 1 or 2 pulls unless its already been running. First start of the day is horrible. 4,5,6 pulls is common and extended cranking time is using the electric start cannot be good for the starting motor or its life expectancy. Often, at the end of a cutting run when using the self propelled function, it is very hard to manually pull it back. Sometimes the rear drive wheels slide on the grass. When bagging grass and leaves this fall, it is horrible to get the grass/leaves out of the bag. You have to reach into the bag and pull everything out. Hard to do when you want to empty into paper ward waste bags. If you stop cutting before the bag is about 1/2 full, it is easier to simply shake out the contents, but also means much more starts & stops and takes longer. The bigger motor is definitely harder on fuel, but I knew it would be. BTW….there is no such thing as "Guaranteed to Start" warranty! They always blame the spark plug, carburetor or gasoline as the issue and cite lack of maintenance…..even when beand new. One would expect a $900 lawnmower to at least start easily, as advertised.Wsrguy

Very nice looking machine! Love the stow-away option especially for changing blades and cleaning the deck. I didnt need the electric start but decided to get it more so for my wife. Now that i have used it, i really like it especially when it’s hot out. When you’re sweating and tired and need to stop do something and then start it again, its just one of those small things I've really appreciated. It cuts like a champ and recycles like you would expect from a Super Recycler! I wanted the Toro with Honda engine but there is NONE out there! I called well over 25 places and there were only Briggs engines. Based on a few comments out there, I decided to go with the 190 cc Briggs thus the 21387. A small concern is the engine kind of sputtering a bit once in awhile when mowing. Nothing major or anything that affects the ability to mow but kind of wondering about that. Also noticed that one or two of the wheels have a lump or something that makes the mower not roll smoothly across the driveway. Haven't looked into it further as when you’re mowing the lawn you don't notice it. All in all I am happy so far. With proper maintenance and oil changes, I am hoping for another 10-15 yrs as I did from my previous Super Recycler with Briggs engine. If you only plan on having this mower 3-5 yrs and then throwing it away, then dont change the oil (as they suggest)!Bucky S

I recently purchased a Model 21387 Personal Pace Super Recycler gas mower. The Personal Pace, adjustable Flex handle, and side-discharge features are what I wanted as an older fellow who knows that side-discharge is getting to be hard to come by, and the handle suspension frame actually adjusts for shorter folk, and thankfully, truly lowers impact on my overworked and often painful arms, wrists, and fingers. A more powerful engine, under deck cleaning water hose port, and electric start just adds to my satisfaction. I purchased from a long time local dealer after looking at over a dozen mowers at other brand sellers and also big box retailers. I was going to purchase electric but couldn't get this exact mower in its high amp hour model in Toro due to sourcing problems. I don't mind. Less gas to run this versus my older Honda and Husqvarna mowers, and those don't have the lightweight cast aluminum deck. Well done Toro! I'm very happy with this purchase. The 5-year warranty is a bonus. Mowing isn't as physically painful now, and the mulching outcome is grand. I'm staying with Toro, for sure.Etienne

As a senior, I chose a walk behind for exercise to cut my 12,000 sqft back lawn, but my 21” mower was working me to the point I was fairly useless afterwards. It was taking 2 hours as I bag my grass and the bag was small- many trips to empty the grass bag. The time master lives up to its name and more. It starts easily and runs smoothly. The self propelled feature runs even without the blades being engaged which is nice when just moving the mower. I waited a year before purchasing because I thought the mower would be too much to handle. I was wrong. It’s amazingly easy to change cutting direction. Now the best part. When the blades are engage and cutting the mower sounds like a turbo charger. The cut is a full 30 inch with less need to overlap the previous cut like with my 21”. The grass bag is larger which means fewer trips to dump the bag. I have a tall fescue lawn which is a cool season grass….and the Time Master wheels are adjustable to 4-1/4 inch which this type grass likes when the heat of summer comes. Best of all, cutting time is now 1 hour and 10 mins and since the self-propel drive is so responsive I’m much less tired and able to continue with weed eating and blowing when I used to do that on another day. Oh, and there is a nice must have mower cover for storing the mower outside. It completely covers the full length of the mower and includes secure strapping underneath – easy on/off. Overview: I brought this mower about 2 months ago and have been using it 1-2 times per week. I live in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan and my lawn is Kentucky Blue Grass and about an acre big, and thick. I hesitated to buy a riding mower due to the price and hesitated towards the average joe 21-22 inch mowers due to size. I was looking for something in the middle that gave me the best of both worlds, then I found this amazing mower. Thoughts: This mower has treated me extremely well and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I've heard great things about this mower and got to feel and look at the great quality of the mower before purchasing at my local dealer and I was instantly sold. Engine: The powerful 10ft lb. torque engine purrs like no other engine and puts other mowers at shame. To pull start the mower you need a good arm due to engine size but personally, I haven't had an issue with pull starting and I've always had it start first pull which is great. Many commercial fleets use this mower and for a good reason, the engine is a top-class commercial grade engine from Briggs & Stratton which will definitely last for over 3000 hours with good maintenance. Personal Pace: Toro's choice of using their personal pace technology on this mower was definitely needed due to the sheer weight of this mower (150lbs) and ease of use. Personal pace does take some time to get used to if you're coming from a regular one-speed mower as you are just used to the mower "pulling" you across the lawn with no control of the actual machine. Personal pace also has great power and torque for hills compared to other mowers which are great. Due to personal pace, I don't consider this mower a push mower, it's more like a walk behind as the mower takes care of all the hard labor. Wheels: Another area where you can see some effort was put in is the wheels. These wheels are huge and use actual rubber compared to other mowers that have tiny plastic wheels. These huge grippy wheels are great for leverage when not using personal pace or just pushing the mower in general. Deck Quality + Wash Port: The deck is your average deck from a Toro mower so not much to complain about here. The wash port works great as long as you drop the deck all the way down for increased vacuum. I've been using the wash port after every time I use the mower and there is no buildup under the deck yet which is great. Just make sure to put on the wash port quick-connect correctly or it will not work at all. Blade Stop / Clutch: Blade Stop works nicely but just make sure to engage blades slowly to not damage belts/pulleys. My only pet peeve with the blade stop is the safety handle located on the right-hand side of the blade stop handle, I see why they added it but I feel like it slows you down and is an extra annoyance for nothing. Quick-Stow/Handle: Handle adjustment options are great, you're guaranteed to find the right handle height for your personal comfort. Quick-stow is simple enough to use and can be a nice space-saver in the garage. Con – Extremely Small Gas Tank: The gas tank is one of the most annoying things about this mower, I find myself refueling the mower 2-4 times while cutting an acre of grass. They could have made the gas tank bigger to support the gas guzzler engine that is equipped with the mower. There is also a blue “sponge” in the tank that a lot of people complain about (including myself). The sponge is there to help prevent slosh but it makes it impossible to see the fuel level and you can easily overflow the tank if you're not paying close attention. Final Thoughts / Closing: I am satisfied with the mower and plan to use it for many years to come. This mower is definitely the king of saving time while doing it in a luxurious way. I've had no issues with starting the engine or bad/uneven cuts. (Keep in mind I've been using the mower 1-2 per week for 2 months). If you are debating buying this mower, just buy it I guarantee you that you will not regret it. There's not much to say besides that Toro definitely did a great job with this mower.MattLawz

I am unable to mow my yard with a lawn tractor due to a large culvert and a zero turn was too large for the size of my yard. I have a 14,000 sq ft. lot. So I needed something larger then the 22 inch recycler I was currently using. I will list the issues and the pluses of this machine Dislikes 1. When trying to mow in the highest setting for the push bar, it will slip and drop into the lowest mowing position, I looked and could not see why it was doing this. 2. When taking the spark plug out the tip broke and I work on motorcycles, so I know how to remove a spark plug. Champion spark plug defect. 3. When sending oil make sure you send the amount needed, Toro only includes 18 ounces of oil and machine needs 20 ounces, so you will need to purchase a bottle of top off oil before operating the machine. Pluses 1. I was able to mow my 14,000 sq ft lot in around 30 minutes, my Toro 22 inch recycle on average around 45 minutes, factoring out the breaks needed. I am just learning how to use this mower so I feel I can get down to around 20 to 25 minutes. 2. Moves like a wild banchee when I pushed the bar forward all the way, the mower was popping wheelies. 3. I have read some reviews where they said the gas tank was to small, I never ran out of gas. 4. Overall I am glad I purchased this mower, I loved my 22 inch recycler and knew I would be buying a larger Toro push mower for my lawn. 5. Trying to mow with a smaller size push mower and having to take multiple breaks due to the heat and after 60 minutes I am finally finished, I knew I needed a larger area push mower, now I mow with no breaks and 30 minutes later I am done mowing.harleyrider17

My seller, ACME TOOLS got the product (LM2022SP) to me in perfect condition way more quickly than I anticipated. 2022 is actually a "KIT" composed of The LM2020SP mower, the 7.5amp battery, and the Rapid charge charger. Because of a medical issue, I went from a SP gas mower to a gas riding mower. Once my medical issues got "fixed", and because I never did like the way my riding mower worked, I went back to self-propelled walk-behind but I detest the gas and oil and other maintenance associated with gas so I purchased the LM2022SP. At high speed, this mower can pull me almost off my feet. I typically do my perimeter at a notch lower than high speed and I use high speed once the edges and corners have been mowed. I am well pleased with the mowing and bagging performance. I like to keep my grass tall so I try to mow every three or four days. I did not have any concerns about battery life of the 7.5amp battery because I have another EGO tool which came with a 7.5 amp battery, but I got front back and sides mowed this week with one battery charge. I believe I am on 1/3 to 1/2 acre, including house. I have not yet tried mulching or side-discharge. The POWER of this mower EXCEEDS my expectations.My neighbor from across the street came over to tell me that he could not believe how quiet my EGO Mower is.FrankO

I had to wait way too long to use this mower — I received it several weeks before my first mow but due to weather and other commitments, I hadn't been able to get out and use it until last Friday. I normally feel like I've just wrestled a bear after mowing my yard that is full of bumps, hills, and trees. It is not a fun task, though I overall enjoy mowing and being outside. My ideal mower is still the Lawnboys of my childhood — they were lightweight, dependable, and easy to maneuver. I think I may now have a new favorite! This mower had adequate power for mowing on the steep hills of my yard, and was lightweight enough that I didn't even use self-propelled unless I was going up a hill. Add on top of that, there was no gas to burn, no heat being generated, no terrible smells, no carburetor to clean or wonder if it was going to gunk up and cost me a small fortune to fix. I can't wait to get back out there again to mow. Oh, and one more point, this mower doesn't stir up all of the dust and pollen that my other mowers did — my wife has terrible allergies and it didn't bother her at all, unlike previous mowing experiences. So what was the one minor catch? It is a very minor one — when you pull the trigger to engage the self-propelled, there is a small delay and then it takes off. It took me about half of my yard to get used to this and it will probably annoy some people. But as stated, I ended up not even using it for the most part, so it didn't bother me at all. I got a little bit of extra exercise and didn't feel bad about polluting the environment. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an electric mower. I cannot state how long it will last or reliable that it will be, but my first impression is extremely positive!David A

I was very impressed by my EGO. I had never used one before finally uncreating out of the box two weeks ago (I bought in it December). My neighbor has had one for two seasons though I never even asked him how he liked us. I've had the EGO trimmer for two full seasons now and I love it. Anyway, back to my mower …. It's lightweight, the self-propel mechanism moves quick, and it cuts great. I've only had it in mulching mode these first few times and it has done great. My former Toro would clog up, especially during the early season mows, so it was great not to have to stop and start. The push bar is a comfortable height, I could go on and on. I suppose my only nit is that, despite it being lighter than any mower I've used previously, going around trees/gardens without the self-propel on can get just a little clumsy at times.FauxMaux

This is our first battery-powered lawn mower and first EGO product. Took the plunge, and so far, glad we did. We've had the mower for about a month now and have used it several times, always in mulching mode. The cut seems fine with the 2 blades – upper blade and mulching blade. We are trying to be a bit more careful to rake up sticks and such prior to mowing since we'll always have to sharpen 2 blades at a time, not just the single blade we always had with our gas mowers. We went with the 10aH battery because we have someplace between 1/2 and 3/4 of an acre of grass to mow out of our roughly 2 acre property. We do find that we need to recharge the battery to get the whole yard mowed, but it only takes an hour, maybe less, to recharge, so sometimes it's a nice break, just need to plan for it a bit. We've been pushing the mower most of the time, and we do find that the charge runs down more quickly when using self-propelled mode. Nice to have the ability to quietly self-propel the mower without the blades running to move from one location to another, though. The mower seems to be a bit quieter than gas mowers we've owned in the past for the person doing the mowing, but we still wear hearing protection. When one of us is in the yard or in the house while the other is mowing, though, this mower seems MUCH quieter from a distance. It's easy to carry on a conversation nearby when someone else is running this mower. We do find that grass builds up on the underside of the mower, so we usually clean off the underside using a plastic trowel at the end of a weekend of mowing. Easy to clean the underside by tipping the mower up on end. We also brush off the top side of the mower each time we use it using a soft brush. We do find that the battery compartment accumulates a bit of dust and debris, nothing too serious, but don't want to have too much in there to mess up the contacts. That's not the easiest to clean out, so wish that was better sealed, maybe with some sort of gasket and a latch. We like having the ability to adjust the height of the handle. Since I'm about a foot taller than my wife, it's nice to have that adjustability. At the time we purchased the mower, battery and charger (from Ace Hardware), there was an offer to get an extension to 5 years of warranty coverage on the battery by registering the product, so we took advantage of that. There are two important aspects of a self-propelled mower other than the power system which is excellent. The first is the cut. The EGO does an excellent job of cutting and mulching. The evenness of the cut is very good, but not as good as my last gasoline-powered mower. There are noticeable unevenly cut pieces of grass in each mowed strip. I believe this is due to insufficient lift with the mulching blade. Designing a blade with more lift wouldn’t be difficult, but it would probably deplete the battery charge more quickly. The second important aspect is the self propulsion system. In this area, the EGO is only average or a little bit less. There is a speed selector for the drive system, but, once the speed is selected, the power to the rear wheels is either off or on controlled by a button pressed with either thumb. To change the speed, you have to take your thumb off the button, readjust the speed selector, and re-engage the drive with the thumb button. A better way to control the speed would be to have a selector for maximum speed and then have an engagement mechanism that allows control of the speed up to that maximum. A lot of gas-powered mowers have such a system, but is usually involves a belt system with a controlled amount of “slippage”. I imagine that would also deplete the battery charge more quickly. The other part of the self propulsion that is bothersome is the time it takes to disengage the back wheels from the drive motors so you can manually push and maneuver the mower in tight places. Sometimes the wheels are freewheeling right away and sometimes you have to pull the mower back several feet before the wheels disengage. This is a serious flaw and would have been a showstopper if I could have test driven the mower before purchasing. Finally, the thumb buttons that engage the drive system have to be pressed “firmly” against the handle in order to work. Any minor bump or slip of your thumb disengages the drive. Keeping pressure on your thumbs for a long time is not very enjoyable. I rate the mower three stars mainly because the battery system and charger are excellent. All other aspects are average or mediocre. I think the many excellent reviews for the EGO mower stem mostly from the concept of a battery-powered mower and not from the implementation of the concept in a well-designed tool.WJS1

I routinely have issues with my 15+ year-old gas-powered lawn mower. Even though I use only ethanol-free fuel, I every couple of years I have to remove and clean and service the carburetor in addition to my annual oil changes and air filter changes. This past year I had to replace the carburetor and continually tinker with it and I just got fed up with the gasoline-related headaches, so I spoke with a neighbor who owns an older EGO mower and decided it was time to retire my old mower and give one of these a try. All I can say is I am truly impressed with just about everything about this mower. We recently went through a hurricane that came through and I had a mess of branches, trigs and leaves to pick up. I picked up the larger debris and mulched with the mulching blade which did a fantastic job. I then followed that up with putting on the high pickup blade and bagged which removed an amazing amount of the mulched trigs. I have since used the mower weekly and the ease of use is more than I expected. The mower is surprisingly light weight, and I rarely find the need to use self-propel. No more spilling gasoline, oil changes, tinkering with a carburetor. Simply put the battery in the charger and it is ready for the next use within a short period of time. Oh, and storage! Fold up the handle and turn it on end and it hardly takes any room in my garage. If you are on the fence regarding an EGO mower, just get one. You will not regret it.JC Hawkins

This mower made my summer! First off: I know there are less expensive electric/battery mowers out there, but if you have other Makita products, youll have already felt the pain that the batteries themselves are $$$, and this is right in line with that. Luckily, you get what you pay for, and these batteries charge reliably, quickly, without overheating. My FIL has a pair of Makita batteries hes used constantly for 10 years, and theyre as good as new. Otherwise, this is an incredible mower: sturdy steel construction, 8 or more mowing heights, room for two pairs of batteries (though for my 1/4 acre yard, Ive only ever used one pair to finish my yard with lots of battery power leftover), self-propel feature with adjustable speeds, and definitely not too heavy to push without the propel feature running. Everything about this mower feels well thought out and high quality, built to last. Plus, it is SO QUIET.Emily P.

I pre-ordered the steel deck brushless model when it was announced and received it yesterday. Assembly took a few minutes to bolt together the two-piece handle with the included tool-free knobs. I adjusted the handle bar to my height (there are three positions), and swapped the included batteries out for a freshly-charged pair I use for my string trimmer and blower. The height adjustment is simple and easy. There are ten height settings, all numbered. A single lever adjusts all four wheels. Cranked up to "10", it looked like between three and four inches of clearance. I lowered it for the first mowing of the season, down to "8". The mower had no problems with the uneven lawn height, varying between bare spots and 8" high grass. I know it's not great for the grass to take that much off in one pass, but this mower CAN do it. To turn the mower on, you press a button. Then you push in a lock button and pull the handlebar's deadman lever, and you're mowing. The spring tension on the lever is a little high for my grip; by the time I was done mowing I was noticing it. I'm hoping with wear or adjustment that pressure level will back off a little. The mower is slightly smaller than my 21" Husqvarna, but it's a lot lighter and easier to mow around trees, landscaping, and other obstacles. The grass catcher bag seems to hold about the same amount as the old mower, so I'm still emptying it three or four times per mowing. I'm mowing a city lot, around a tenth of an acre of grass. A single charge was more than enough to do all of it. The batteries were below 20% when finished, so a larger area might need a battery swap, which is still easier and faster than filling a gas tank. The biggest difference between the gas mower and the XML03, other than initial price, is what goes away when mowing electric. The noise is low. The Makita mower is variable speed, which is weird at first. In taller grass, the RPMs ramp up, but when the load goes down, so does the blade speed. The low speed is pretty quiet, low enough to carry on a conversation. The high speed's noise is comparable to a cheap box fan turned up full blast, which is still way lower than a gas engine. It's quieter than running a vacuum. I can mow without hearing protection, which is probably safer. The other mowing factor that goes away with electric is smell. No gas fumes, no exhaust, just the smell of cut grass. It changes the act of mowing the lawn from feeling like I'm working in the shop with industrial tools into something else. It's still a chore to mow, emptying the bag isn't easier, hauling clippings isn't any easier, cleaning the underside of the deck isn't any easier (you can still just tilt the mower on it's side and hose it off). But just about every other aspect of the process is. The only advantage a gas mower has over this model is the lower up-front cost. The Makita XML03PT1 (kit with four batteries) is about twice the price of the Husqvarna with a Honda engine. If you've already made the investment in Makita batteries for other tools, the bare-tool mower is only 20%-30% higher. For my yard size, the extra cost is offset by ease of use, ease of storage (the mower can be stored vertically, unlike most gas mowers), and the improved experience of electric mowing over gas. I give the mower four stars overall, because they could still improve this model. The battery charge gauge has three bars. Three bars = 50-100%, two = 20-50%, and one = 0-20%. That's not intuitive, and the angle of the gauge could be tilted back so it faces your face while mowing, instead of needing to lean over it to read it. The handlebar is ergonomic, with multiple hand positions, but the deadman lever's tension is too high to remain comfortable over time. If there are any reliability problems over time, I'll update this review, but for now I'm pretty happy with the mower overall. Great: no gas, quiet, solid engineering, well made, wheel height adjustment varies widely and easy to adjust, self-propelled function is independent of main electric motor and operates easily and will get up and go faster than you can keep up or slow as a crawl. Self-propelled also starts out gradually which takes a minute or two to get used to, but probably is more efficient. Rear bag works great and fits into a paper lawn bag. Misses: 1. High speed can ONLY be activated automatically when the main motor detects a load. Standard low speed doesn't produce enough suction for leaf pickup into the rear bag. Also after emptying bag there is usually a little grass that falls out and standard speed can't suck it up. The mower is capable in high speed of anything my old gas mower could do, but the auto-load design hinders its performance and usability. Makita needs to add a press and hold "Turbo" button to force the mower to run at high speed so it can be used for leaf pickup. 2. Handle is well made, but lacks any means to fold up for winter storage in the shed. 3. The battery cover needs a prop-rod or mechanism to hold it up while changing batteries. Summary: Some minor complaints, but very happy with purchase. I have a rather large collection of LXT tools and this one is worthy of the Makita reputation for quality.Matt_1

I have been used to gas-powered mowers since I was a teen mowing my dad's lawn. Now that I have a more eco-conscious mindset, I decided a switch to battery-powered machines was in order. Now, I know this may not do the best job in terms of raw cutting power nor will its longevity wow you, but it did great over my 5000 sq ft lawn. Cut very well on a single blade and the charge last long enough to complete the lawn. I recommend this sun joe mower 100%!ryolun

The Sun Joe 24v-x2-21lmsp 48-volt is literally just what the dr. ordered. I need to get more exercise and this will do the trick. Of course the neighbor probably thought I was nuts a little bit ago when they went by and saw me trying it out. (not a lot of grass in central IL in Feb.) I mainly wanted to see how well it was going to pull itself around and it passed that test. On my wet brown grass it self propelled fine so I can't see regular green grass being a problem when it starts growing non stop in april. I wanted this to use on my front yard because it seems to grow faster than the rest and it's a pain to get the big rider out and do just a little spot. With this mower you don't have to mess with checking or changing the oil, no running out of gas and having an empty can either. You do have to keep the batteries charged up but that's pretty easy because I have a spot set up on my workbench where I keep all the chargers and batteries for other tools. Including other sun joe products. I've had good luck with sun joe products and I don't foresee this being any different. I never tested for length of run time because like I said, no grass and it was a little cold out.parkerdog

I like this lawnmower for my small lawn. The two problems I have are the batteries and the blade. The batteries neither last as long or charge as quickly as they advertised. You can take off fifteen minutes of cut time and add fifteen minutes to your charge time after about ten cuts. The blade nicks and dulls quickly and does not come pre-sharpened. I also had to wait two months for them to restock the 22 inch blade.Boston

I am impressed, does exactly what I expected and more. I bought this to do the 'detail' work in my yard around trees and on sidehills my rider couldn't get to, and after the first use I was more than happy. I pushed it pretty hard with some tall grass and big swaths, but it had plenty of power. Batteries lasted me about 4-5 bag fill ups (awesome feature too) and it was HOT out. The description says it will mow up to 60 minutes. I could mow my lawn in 45 minutes with my gas mower. I am now on the the third charge of the batteries. Two hours in and only half way through.The original Tin Man

Bought the mower with the deal that came with 4 total 5Ah batteries and a charger. I do the front yard and backyard on alternate days so only run about 30 minutes at a time but have noticed no reduction in power or charge droop. Cut quality has been very good. I used a gas mower before using an electric and could mow my whole lawn front and back no problem. when I got this one I had to do the front and back separate because it wouldn't last long enough. I bought this in March and now in August I can't even cut half my front lawn which is very small. would not recommended buying this unless you have a very tiny yard.Ryan5867

Dewalt electric mowers are absolute trash. Do not waste your money on one. Tried cutting about 6 square yards of grass that was about 4 inches tall and now it doesn’t start. And the batteries are fully charged.Nick921234

This mower is the perfect alternative to a gas powered version for the average user. I believe it could be used commercially for smaller jobs. If you are already invested in the Dewalt 20/60V ecosystem, it makes sense to buy this product. Setup was easy, no issues with using it, and no problems like mentioned in other reviews. All of my outdoor yard equipment is from Dewalt and have never experienced the issues I've read in many reviews. (knock of wood). I have been a Dewalt user since 2001; have many of their other power tools, storage boxes, and have never thought of switching brands. This mower was extremely disappointing. Initially, it worked well, although it struggled to complete an entire cut of my backyard, which is about 1/4 of an acre before the batteries went dead. While cutting one day, it stopped due to accumulation of grass under the deck. I turned it over to clean it out, cleaned it out, turned it back over and….. nothing. No combination of batteries (all of which were full) would get it to turn back on. Now I'm left with two very expensive 10AH batteries that don't do a good job of cutting my lawn. I was looking for a replacement for my 35 year old gas mower that was getting tired. I found this Greenworks 20 inch 12 Amp corded lawn mower at a very good price point. Using a corded electric mower is relatively easy when you mow progressively away from the point of plugging in the extension cord, I looked at the Extension cord requirements & opted to "UpSize" to 12/3 versus the minimum 14/3 called for in the user manual,This way I am assured of getting full power at the end of a 100 foot cord & if necessary I can extend out to 150 feet with the 12/3 cord specification. This 20 inch mower is very powerful compared to a gas engine mower and the sublime quietness of the electric motor is nice versus the ROAR of a gas engine, I was easily able to mow through 12 inch high grass by making 3/4 wide swaths through the tall grass & proceeding slowly which is easy in 90F heat. For my initial use of this mower I opted to use the side discharge chute because using the grass catcher would have required many empty-ings of the catcher due to the grass height. I really like the easy of setting the cutting height with 1 lever & at 3-3/4 inches it is the height I wanted in a lawn mower so that I do not scalp the lawn like I see professional mowers do, There is no greater joy than the feeling of using a well made New lawn mower after nursing my old gas engine unit for "just another mowing season". I like the pleasant Green color of this mower's deck & the large diameter wheels make mowing on uneven ground very easy. This mower has much to prove to me given its predecessor,bobaro

Was about 80% through my first mowing w/Greenworks 12 Amp 20! Corded Lawn Mower, and the mower stopped. Checked various obvious causes, including power outlet blew the breaker (no), letting it sit a while and then try again, etc. The mower itself does not have a breaker switch on it, so am wondering if my mower is an earlier version (some PDFs of the parts show this, but pix on the GW site show a mower w/o a breaker, and looks like mine). Wondering if the Rectifier went south? I saw this on another post, and am going to poke about for one of those… a response from support with their thoughts would be helpful!SamSam

I have owned this mower for about a month and a half and have cut my lawn multiple times with it. I have a small city lot and it takes me about an hour to cut. I have been able to cut it twice on a single charge and it does a great job. The height adjustment lever is a stroke of genius, as is the lever to switch from bagging to mulching. It is a pretty heavy mower, and requires all four batteries be inserted to use it. As with most electric mowers, this one is pretty quiet when compared to a gas mower.Young1

This is a great powerful mower! Unfortunately, it does not have a battery power gauge that remains on. You have to actually press a button on the base camp system. Additionally, you may expect to be able to control blade speed, but that is automatically adjusted when in thicker grassy areas. I appreciate not having a single battery to create the power, in the event there is a malfunction with the battery at any given point. While it may lack some competitor features its still great to have. The runtime is around the one hour mark if your lawn is maintained and not beyond a half acre. I am extremely curious to see what is in store for the 80v series. Potential…Derrick04

I think it cuts great and has a lot of power for the hills on my lawn and battery life is great. However it does have what I consider a design flaw that is annoying. The self propel engagement should NOT be a bar. I tend to stall when turning around because i need to slow down and while I turn, I tend to let up just enough on the black bar that engages the motor that I stall. if it had a different way like my gas mower to engage, it would be perfect. It could also use a lower cutting level. I put it on the lowest, and usually I am one or two above on my previous mower. I love the quality of the product.Claire from Vermont
