20 Best Sensitive Skin Laundry Detergent (Jan 2023 Update)

It is safe to use within my emotional support cat. And it work just normal as any pods does. And I am very fond of wool and silk so it is very gentle. And I love fact that this dropps offers different two sizes, regular pods and mini pods. (Regular pods is smaller than average pods of other; thank to that, I can carry 3x of pods in go! So much lighter!) mini pods is unbelievable tiny, hehe. Good for hand wash or small loads. I usually hand wash 7 clothes and I love wear them all time. I did buy in unscented, rose, lavender, and mini one. I usually use unscented where my cat usually walk or sleeping. And I love rose and lavender equals so I use them on towel, clothes, other that my cat not interest in it. I like sensitive one as it are safer choice than normal one (I only use that one if it have stronger dirty) I love it!Hailey S.

Over a year ago I tried the Dropps laundry and dishwasher detergent. I was looking for a no plastic solution. Both of these products exceed my expectations in results. I am amzed how clean my dishes are without any chemical smells. The laundry pods are very convenient. They dont take up alot of space and I take them With me when I travel. I would recommend these to snyone ready to ditch the plastic amd the harmful chemicals in the standard clothes detergents. If you are switching from one of those uber scented products give it some time to get used to. I personally cannot stand the suffocating scents that are on some of them. Once you stop using them for a period you will see how bad these scents are for you. Please give Dropps a try. You will not be disappointed. I give both of these a 10 out of 10. I've been using Dropps laundry and dishwasher pods for a few years and really like them. I recently ordered the Active Wash Detergent in the Rose Energy scent. I LOVE rose sent products and was excited to try these. The scent of any product I use is one of the biggest reasons I choose a product. I am so disappointed in the smell of these pods!!! I can detect absolutely NO rose smell what so ever! The smell is a sickly sweet candy smell. Yuck! The pods themselves and the wet laundry when I take it out of the washer have this strong odor to them. Luckily after they run through the dryer the smell goes away, leaving almost no smell, just clean laundry. But I do prefer a lingering scent of a good smelling detergent on my clean clothes. Also, no where in the ingredients is rose listed.Marlene H.

I’ve been using this detergent since my son was born and I absolutely loved the original ALL baby scent that smelled like baby! I purchased a new bottle of detergent recently and while I was doing a load of laundry I had noticed that the new bottle smelled different than the other. I smelled both the old and new scent to compare. It made me think that I had bought the wrong kind and or someone had tampered with the bottle that I recently purchased. However, I don’t mind the new scent but I do miss that “baby” smell the original detergent had. I always received compliments on how good my sons clothes smelled with the original scent. I will continue buying this detergent as the new scent is also pleasant, but it would be nice to somehow be informed by ALL that they are/have changed scents.Kayl

This was another product that I had been wanting to try but didn't know enough or hear many reviews to prompt me to purchase it. I do at least 1 load of laundry per day so I was able to compare them easily to my normal brand. After 1 weeks worth of laundry with me alternating brands and making sure that I used both brands for whites, colors and heavy duty items. I would definitely say that I noticed a difference in my toddlers clothing. They smelled fresh and clean than my regular detergent but in a more pleasing and not so overbearing essence/scent. He has some allergies so I have to be careful with what I used and this had absolutely no side effects. Now that the weather is becoming warmer, he has been playing outside more often and by the end of a play day, they are filthy! I find that the all free clear pure laundry detergent seems to get out more of the tougher grass stains. Likewise, I have also found that my whites and colors seem brighter than usual. I also deal with allergies and I have found that I don't have as many sniffles and itching spells. I will attribute this to the all detergent as I have not changed anything in the 1 week trial. The last comparison was on the large, absorbent, washable dog pads that I use for potty training as I rescue numerous dogs and prepare them for adoption. In this case, the all detergent did not fair as well and the normal bleach and stain remover that I use for these. I am so impressed with this product, I am looking at the subscribe and save options on Amazon for this particular product and brand. I was skeptical at first to use this laundry detergent as it’s free of dyes and perfumes yet claims to remove odors. So being skeptical, I used this for a load of laundry- all while hoping for a miracle. It’s tough to find products that do what they claim to do so I didn’t have high hopes. Well let me tell you, I was wrong about this product. Gladly wrong that’s for sure! I was so pleasantly surprised at how great this Landry detergent worked! It is free of dyes and fragrances as I mentioned however, your laundry comes out with such a “clean” smell, it’s just lovely. This is the only laundry soap that my whole family uses. We started using when my granddaughter was born eight years ago but only for her but as time went by, we decided to use it for the whole family. Been buying this for years but they have changed the formula, wether they want to admit it or not. It was always CLEAR! I bought some last week and was doing laundry today used this on one load and it was YELLOW!! What the heck did they do? Luckily I had a little of the original clear for the other load and the clothes I used the yellow on are now making me Itch! WHY DID THEY SCREW UP A PRODUCT THAT WAS PERFECT?? At first I thought the yellow one was old or maybe had been exposed to heat or cold weather so when I went to the store I looked and they were all yellow at the same store I bought the clear at a couple months ago! I've been using Tide for years – and it works very well. It washes my clothes clean and doesn't leave any residue behind. However, I would like the Tide detergent company to make plastic free alternatives since most plastic is not recycled. There should be a product line of dried tablet versions or dehydrated laundry sheets versions for those who want to produce less plastic waste, those who don't have access to recycling facilities, and for those who have physical disabilities.Rain203

In my opinion, the scent is just as important as the ingredients in products. I am not opposed to unscented if there's not a safe scent. But Attitude makes worry-free formulas that have a scent. However, I've never used their products before and there are no stores around me that sell their products for me to go and sniff in person. The two pictured are not the same scent. They both do the same job and do it well. However the "Sweet Lullaby" has more of a light lavender scent and the "Night" just has a light, sweet scent. Not sure at first if this will work to clean best for the clothes since the family is using traditional heavy scented and highly chemical based detergents before. I can definitely say am amazed by how gentle yet how clean the clothes always comes out from the laundry every time. I like that this brand is very transparent about the ingredients listed. This will be a good option for those who prefer their laundry detergent to be fragrance free. It does not contain any harsh ingredients. I have tried their other detergents with fragrances and they are not artificial fragrances. They leave the clothes smelling really good. No nasties remain behind and get absorbed by the babies' sensitive skin when they wear their clothes. A tiny amount will produce enough suds to clean dirt and stains well. My family has a number of skin related sensitivities. It's pretty rare for us to find a laundry detergent that keeps everyone's skin happy, but so far the Tide PODS free and gentle have caused no issues! To say I'm thrilled is an understatement. Our clothing came out clean and no one is itchy. Win/win! The packaging has a safety zipper on it which I didn't realize was rhere at first. Once I looked at the back of the packaging the instructions were clear and I was able to open the package without struggle. The instructions were clear enough that my 10 year old who is old enough to do laundry and know not to consume laundry detergent could open it. But tricky enough that my 7 year old could not.Mmm313

I didn’t expect to like these detergent pods as much as I did! They definitely clean better than the brand I’ve been using. Occasionally, when I clean the sweaty stuff, I’ve had a bit of odor left over after running a normal cycle with my old brand. I usually wash those items a second time. With these, I didn’t need a second wash. They smelled clean the first go around! I really think they’re a step up over what I’ve been using. I prefer using regular detergent to pods though. So I’ll stick with tide, but try their free and clear liquid detergent next instead of my old brand.Johnhammsjohnham

I generally prefer to do most of my laundry with free and gentle detergent. Just because a product is free of certain ingredients, it doesn't mean it should be less efficient and not do a good job. However, not all free and clear/gentle brands are equal. I find that Tide works much better than others. It delivers great results even when it comes to heavily soiled rags, rugs etc. I usually prefer liquid detergent, because I can control the amount much better, but truth be told pods are so much more convenient, less messy and they take less space. Plus you can store them in a glass jar in your laundry room and they look a lot better than a big plastic bottle or container. I can do small and medium loads with just one pod and they come out as expected – fresh and clean. Even if there is no scent, they have a clean smell.roxyrox

I'm a person who has problems with allergies. I have asthma and COPD that's triggered by strong fragrances and also skin allergies that get triggered by most retail detergents and fabric softeners. I am so glad I discovered ECOSnext. I don't know how it works but it's been working very well for me. I was a little doubtful about trying a "sheet" system of measuring loads of laundry detergent but I was willing to be open minded. I've been using a half sheet for a small load and a full sheet for a regular load and it's been a game changer for me! With most retail brands, even the hypoallergenic versions still trigger my allergies to the point that I need to rewash them without soap to rinse out the allergens that trigger me. Not with this one. One wash with ECOSnext in most cases got my clothes clean and fresh. Now that I've been using it for a couple of months, I can see a minor shortcoming. If my clothes are VERY dirty with grime, body soil or sweat, it's not strong enough. It's not often that it happens but I have had to wash with the harsh detergent first to get all the real dirt off, then rewash with ECOSNext to wash off those harsh chemicals and fragrances. It works great for just regular washings my daily clothes in a single wash with no complaints. My clothes come out clean and fragrance free. But this has only been a few times in the past couple of months compared to rewashing every load before I discovered ECOSNext! And as a bonus, because I can't use fabric softener, I'm surprised that my laundry still comes out of the dryer just a little bit softer than it does with other detergents. Now, I'm using much less electricity, water, detergent and time with much fewer allergy problems from my clean clothes. I am VERY happy with it and I can absolutely recommend it for anyone with similar allergy problems as mine. I can also find this is gentle enough detergent for babies, children, and elderly people. As well as anyone who's interested in Eco Friendly alternatives to the big packaging and chemicals used in other detergents.Nando

I love the concept of these. I enjoy the size & convenience of these & the fact they're environmentally friendly too. My problem lies in they really didn't do the job I wanted them to do. I had to rewash my clothing over again with one of those "pod" type products! Then & only then did I really see clean laundry. . I had to try again so I did with a tiny load of wash, just 2 pairs of shorts, 2 shirts & 1 pair of underwear & I even made sure that the sheet had disappeared & that all my wash settings were optimized to help these work & nope, no such luck. They smelled kinda lightly scented but not as clean as they should have. These were not really clean clothes, so again, more money, more time & water wasted & sadly nothing. My future daughter in law decided to try the balance of my box. She used them on tiny fast washes of newborn clothes that she literally puts right in the her very small machine two times daily on average & in her case there was more success!! So I'm giving these 3 stars but that's bcuz they are going to work on lightly soiled clothes that were washed almost as soon as they were dirtied & in a very small washer that's the size for an apartment closet. That's a big difference from the large commercial washer I used for adult clothes that I washed while my better half wore them during an elongated stay in the hospital. For the record we both reported they smell light & pleasant & in the right conditions these worked. Now I'm sure you know what machine you have & what you're washing so it's up to you now. They can work, but, under very specific conditions. Again, I really had high hopes & if these are wave of the future & they improve the product I'll bite! I'll use them for everything I wash. The concept is great but sadly for me the results weren't great but for a tiny load of just soiled baby clothes they did… Now it's your choice. I really hope they go back to the drawing board & make changes so I can use them with great success bcuz the idea & concept is truly what I want in a product & if it could deliver, again, I would only use these! I have been interested in trying the new waterless laundry detergent trend so I recently got these ECOSNext™ Liquidless Laundry Detergent Sheets, in the Free & Clear variety. These sheets boast a liquid free wash without the use and mess of laundry powders, or pods. I love the idea of using less waste for our environment and having less bulky laundry detergent, so I got these to give them a try. My first reaction when I saw these flat laundry detergent sheets is how easy and convenient they are. I love the fact that the container takes up less space than a traditional detergent bottle. These are packaged in a cardboard container with a resealable plastic container inside of it. You open the plastic, take one sheet out, and place it in the washer before you put your clothes in. I've tested these detergent sheets with multiple types of loads: sheets, towels, whites, darks, and kids clothes. So far all of them have come clean with no problems and I am highly satisfied with the cleaning power. They do not contain dues or fragrance which is a huge plus in my family and something that is important to me. These pass the skin test as I had no allergies to them whatsoever. I have very sensitive skin but these showed no reaction for me. The cleaning power of these liquidless laundry sheets is pretty good, nothing I washed still looked dirty or needed to be washed again. I love the ease of use for just throwing one sheet in the washer and not having to measure different sizes for different loads. I did use two sheets in one exceptionally dirty load, but it came clean easily. Overall I have been very happy with this choice and would definitely get these again when I run out.XxRynnexX

Well, I figure it's time to take care of my pillowcases as they are silk,satin/and high thread count. Naturally I decided to give the Woolite delicate/hypoallergenic liquid a try. Love their other products, but for pillow cases and the face, you gotta have hypoallergenic everything ! I'll even give hand washing a try first, then the HE washing machine ( not for the silk). I know my things will love me for using this. I'm sure I will too.Muthamouth

I always heard Woolite was great for wool so I thought I’d give it a try. OMG. It made my sweater even soft than it was before with no change to the casheme. Just handwashed it in really cold water. So glad I bought this. My new go-to detergent for my winter sweaters.LB

Light colored clothes come out bright and soft. My only complaint is the scent. I bought this for my gym clothes (which it worked magic on) but I couldn’t get with the scent. It smells clean and fresh but it also smells like cologne with a splash of sweetness. It scents the whole house and it stays on the clothes for days!!! I’m trying to use it up quickly by washing everything but bedding with it. Again, it’s a great product but I prefer the original scent.SKri

I decided to splurge and instead of my cheaper detergent, I purchased this expensive laundry detergent for once. In all honesty, I was not impressed. This Persil indeed smells wonderful but did not appear to clean my laundry any better or less than the cheaper priced detergent brands I usually purchase. With this detergent, I still had to pretreat stains, soak the overly grungy clothes for thirty minutes, and add a detergent booster, the same way I do with other detergents. I wasn’t expecting a miracle, but for the price and all the hype I was expecting more than simply a noticeable nice scent. So, unless this detergent drops dramatically in price, or I’m completely out of detergent and this is the only detergent on the store shelf, I will not be purchasing a second time.Nan45

I saw someone say these reviews were fake… I’m a real person and I agree with the others. Persil has its own unique scent. Like the original green bottle from another brand with the G on it. Persil smells fresh! In my top loader it smelled up the whole house but now I have a front loader and can only smell it when I walk by the laundry room. My husband works outside with oil and grease. I have 3 kids and a dog. Our laundry comes out clean and smelling nice! I’ve used other detergent that made my laundry smell like spit up OR dirty bucket water. Ew. Persil really gets the grime out and refreshes the fibers just make sure you use the correct dosage. Make sure you don’t mix the colors with the whites because they will look dingy. All in all, I enjoy it.SKri

But thanks to #familyratedclub this is the first time I was given the chance to try and review #gotitfree @Seventh Generation Liquid Laundry Detergent (Free & Clear). I was not sure that a laundry detergent that was made with no chemicals and has no scent that I would get my laundry clean, bright and work well on stains. This laundry detergent looks so much different from other well known brands. It is a clear liquid, all-natural and concentrated. So it is good for the environment, gentle, economical, saver for your family and pets. I have done several loads since receiving @Seventh Generation Liquid Laundry Detergent (Free & Clear). I have washed my bedding, linens, towels, dark clothes, white clothes, my pet pillows and pads. I really can't say anything negative about this laundry detergent. I found my washing looked just as clean and soft. It did worked just as well as my usual brand and was gentle on my clothes, but tough in stains. My family and I have sensitive skin and allergies so for us this is a really good product choice. I am always looking for ways to help the environment, keep my home, family and pets safe from toxic cleaning products. I was so excited to receive this product through family rated and put it to the test as I have a 5 month old who makes a lot of laundry. My first reaction upon opening the detergent was "wow, it honestly smells like nothing". When they say Free & Clear, they mean it. It's great having a detergent without a harsh chemical smell as most linger on clothing post wash and I just don't want that for my daughter. I absolutely love this for baby detergent, but for my husband's shirts, it will unfortunately not be my go to as I didn't find it powerful enough to remove the man sweat smell. It is however, powerful enough to clean baby poopsplosions which really impressed me. Not even the slightest stain was left after a gentle cycle with this detergent. So although it may not be the solution for work out gear, it is great for most situations. I also really love that this is a natural product as laundry is something that we can't escape and often is full of chemicals. However, being a natural product also means it comes with a higher price tag which many may not be willing to pay. For me personally, I think it's worth it for my daughter's laundry. Overall, this is a great detergent for those with sensitivities to smell or just want to avoid them, but still want an effective cleaning agent. #gotitfreeKzeleni

I usually buy whatever laundry detergent is on sale, and don't pay attention to what is inside. I was pleased to have the opportunity from Family Rated and Chick Advisor to try a natural laundry detergent, namely Seventh Generation free & clear. Recently, my daughter has been suffering from a rash on her back, and I began to question whether it may be the laundry detergent. It's too soon to tell yet, but I am going to see if hopefully this formula 'made for sensitive skin' will help. I love how the label lists all the ingredients. It is very good also that the formula is dermatologist tested… We really need to pay more attention to things like laundry detergent, how it affects our skin, as well as the environment. Laundry is super clean, and KIND detergent sheets are so easy to use! No drippy mess! I've tried many other kinds and I don't like them. These dissolve completely unlike the little packets/pods of detergent other brands sell. If you want to use the KIND detergent sheets to pre-treat a stain, just put one of the detergent sheets in a cup of water and there you go. I also love how lightweight they are – I grab a box of 60 for our vacation house, so much easier to carry than a nasty big plastic jug of liquid. I hate plastic bottles! I buy 2 1/2 gallons of water so that I don't use 48 individual water. I buy this detergent mainly to stop the use of plastic bottles. I hoped the new pads of soap would work well and not have me itchy as some laundry detergents do. There is a very popular detergent that makes me itchy all over because my clothes are all washed and touching my skin, even though I use two rinse cycles. Well EUREKA! I found it! I got your Kind Laundry sheets in my quarterly Causebox. I really like them! Not only are they environmentally much friendlier than regular laundry detergent, they are also better than the other 'eco' products I have tried. Here's why: The concentrated 'eco' one I buy from the grocery store smells great (lavender) or neutral. However it is in a small plastic bottle (yuk) and its also messy to dispense or get the dosage right. Another mail-order eco one I tried was also great – it washed the clothes as well as yours however it had a few features I didn't like. There was some non-recyclable packaging AND you had to break the sheet into tinypieces in the drawer so it dissolved evenly. Even then it left some mushy slime in the drawer. The kind laundry sheets work well. I find they remove stains with just one sheet and I just pop them in with the load so there is no residue. Great idea, great product – thanks!Gaynor F.

This detergent is pleasant on the olfactory system. I am exceedingly sensitive to strong smelling detergents and am not deterred by this scent; it's light and welcoming. The detergent cleaned my clothes well and didn't leave behind any detergent residue on my clothing. 3 days later and my clothes are still smelling clean and refreshed. I haven't had any allergic reactions to this detergent as well. I'm sensitive to practically everything. I often get rashes from any strong chemical detergents and those with a lot of perfumes. I am very pleased with my purchase. The kids and myself can all use the same detergent. What a relief! Also, it came in a great size, it should last us a while. The detergent is decent. A little overpriced in my opinion, but it is decent. The scent is pleasant. I wish I could figure out exactly what kind of flower used in the scent so I can better describe it. It does not smell anything like other baby detergents (Dreft, All Baby,Pyrex, etc). No baby powder kind of scent. It's a very soft floral. It doesn't seem like roses or lilacs (if that is remotely helpful.)Laura

I decided to give this a try because I’m getting tired of the free and clear eco friendly stuff I’ve been using for baby clothing, etc. Given all of the positive reviews and, given that it’s for baby items, I assumed the scent wouldn’t be anything too strong. I was wrong. This smells like perfume. I’m surprised a baby scent would be this strong, even for Meyers. If you are sensitive to smells I would not recommend this – it’s not even a particularly good smell. I’ve gone back to free and clear or an eco friendly light scent, like ECOS brand.STACEY J.

We started using All free and clear after I had my daughter 18 years ago well let's say 16 years ago. When she was a baby we used the dreft laundry detergent, well when she was about 2 years old we started noticing that when she would get hot she would get this rash on her we narrowed it down to the laundry detergent changed to the all free and clear with no scents or anything like that in it and she hasn't had any problems since. Love ALL FREE and clear she wishes she could use smell good stuff with her clothes like I do and it not bother her!whitney.w

I use this product event though no one in my house has skin issues or allergies to "regular" detergents. I just HATE the fake smells of other detergents. Last think I want to walk around smelling like is whatever "fresh scent" is supposed to be. Strong detergents can really impact other people around you with asthma, etc. I prefer to just put a few drops of essential oil on my dryer balls for a fresh scent on bedding. On the business side, I stock short term rental properties with this product so as to be sure I'm reducing the risk of having a product someone is allergic to or just plain hates the smell of.michelle

I started using this when my son was born almost 8 years ago. Clothes come out clean and stains come out well. I would rinse out tough baby stains as soon as I took off dirty onesies with plain water or water and a little hand soap, but washing his clothes in warm water once a week got them clean and soft. I added oxyclean to the baby / toddler loads as needed, and now that he's older I use Clorox 2 or Shout pretreatment for sports stains. It does not leave a scent and clothes hold up well through many washes. *We use the All free & clear or Downy Free softener or Bounce free dryer sheets for extra softness and to reduce static cling *Angel2477

These detergent sheets work on every kind of dirt and grime and mess from horrid smelling manure and sweat to nasty greasy work clothes yet clean my delicate knits and all manner of household wSh like bedding znd toeles with ease. No damage to delicates! Unscented last time still has fragrance. hoping this tine for zero smell. Dissolves in hard water even the ice cold water from the city wells up here on the Divide. works fantastic with bleach and stain removal additives too. Never a horrible chemical reaction smell. Hoping yo see a plant powered formula like 7th Gen in sheets soon too and a biz like additive sheet too. and maybe plant based easy Dissolves fabric softener sheets too?? I have been using Earth Breeze for almost a year now, and I LOVE it! At first, I was concerned my clothing wouldn't get truly clean. How could what appears to be such a small amount of detergent really work? I run full loads and thought I may end up having to run more frequent smaller loads – not at all!! I run full loads, I drop 2 sheets on top, and the clothes come out perfect. I never have loads that feel sticky or filmy from using too much product, the clothes smell great, and dirt/deodorant/grime are gone. The best part? Using Earth Breeze has SIGNIFICANTLY cut down on my plastic consumption. Sure, I recycle, however now I feel better knowing there is less plastic even being produced because of my choices. I travel with a few sheets (they take up zero space) and have peace of mind that I won't have to track down a small box of detergent somewhere when I need to do laundry on the road or overseas. Finally, I ordered a year's worth of detergent and it shipped (and is stored) in a box that is smaller than a large jug of detergent – for a year's supply!!! I have adequate supply of a product I love, and will never have to worry about grocery store supply levels. After thorough research, and trying several companies that make environmentally responsible laundry products, my sister told me Earth Breeze was the best of the lot. Since I too, would like to move away from plastic jugs and use more environmentally sound products, I decided to give it a whirl and ordered the fragrance free eco sheets. After they arrived, I was wondering how it would work out since the sheets didn't fit inside the little compartment my top-loading washer has for detergent, and the manufacturers instructions said don't put detergent on top of the clothes. So I just folded the sheet into quarters and tucked it in to the compartment. Then I was wondering – since it is fragrance free and my clothes aren't usually all that visibly dirty, how will I know if it really got them clean? Well, being someone who cooks a lot, and also uses a lot of hand towels when I cook, sometimes those towels are left to fester a bit before they get washed. I use the towels mostly for drying vegetables while prepping, but sometimes those towels smell pretty rank when left to sit. That was my test. When the load was done, I took those towels out of the washer and they just had a very clean aroma, not scented, just clean. And the clothes looked and smelled fine as well. There was no residue, nor any remnants left over from the eco sheet in the compartment, as it completely dissolved. I am extremely pleased that I found my new detergent. Had to go unscented because most scents smell fake and like chemicals and often don't go away. Gross. Only the organic detergent scents seem to not get stuck in clothing. I use a couple of packets of this in every load along with a scented detergent. It’s something I’ve done since the days when I used Tyler Diva detergent- mostly just because mentally I questioned if the Tyler detergent really cleaned our clothes or just left them smelling good. I since started using Topanga detergent for our towels and sheets because the smell is equivalent to laying on a beach in the clouds of heaven- but even with Topanga I still use a few packets of All because I feel better about our clothing being truly clean AND smelling good. Our everyday clothing I use a few of these packets along with a liquid detergent.KW

TLDR: For 6 to 7 years I’ve had great results using these pacs to wash my laundry with water that’s tap cold wash & cold rinse. My laundry isn’t particularly dirty or smelly, so using 2 pacs for each extra large load works great. My review for the pacs include some laundry tips others might find useful. Never assume that someone else knows what you do & take time to help others, because you’ll be the one that needs help someday. The instructions say to use 3 pacs per extra large load. But I’ve always used 2 pacs per load for my clothes & 2 pacs for a load that includes a bed sheet, pillow case, twin size knitted yarn afghan, wash cloths & two large bath towels. I use 2 pacs per extra large load because none of my laundry is particularly dirty or smelly. This makes the pacs last longer so I only need to buy a 60 pac container twice a year. Instead of 4 containers a year if I followed the 3 pac instruction. I've always washed my laundry with tap cold water & cold rinse because it's cheaper not using warm or hot water. Plus cold water doesn't prematurely fade clothes causing them look to old, like warm or hot water does. Which means less money spent on clothing because it doesn’t fade or where out as quickly. I live in western Washington of the pacific northwest where soft water is common in the region. Soaps & detergents perform better with soft water. If you don't know what that means search, what is water hardness, (also search) water hardness & soap, to learn about how water hardness affects soap & water. To see water hardness for your area, do a web or image search for water hardness map. After looking at several water hardness maps search, laundry detergent for (water type), to see soaps & detergents recommended by others for your water type. So the pacs have time to dissolve, I put one pac at the back of the wash tub at about the 12 o'clock position & the other pac at about 6 o'clock. I drop laundry into the tub so the tub is full to the rim or just below, but not over flowing & not tightly packed. My blanket, bed sheet & bath towels are loosely wrapped around the center agitator & piled up so they wash evenly & don’t unbalance the washer like if they were each balled up in one part of the washer. The laundry is evenly distributed so it’s washes evenly, the spin cycle is balanced & the tub doesn’t bang around. Close the lid, do the wash settings & push Start. The full cycle takes just under one hour. While the water is filling the tub for 7 to 8 minutes the pacs in the bottom have plenty of time to dissolve. When the wash cycle starts the detergent is ready to mix with the clothes. If the pacs are on top of laundry or mixed in they’ll probably stay a bit dry until the wash cycle churns them into the water, they won’t dissolve until several minutes into the wash cycle & the detergent will have less time to clean the laundry before it’s rinsed out. Considering I’ve been using these pacs for 6 to 7 years & have never had a problem, like the picture with the gooey mess that’s said to have ruined clothing, it makes me wonder if the person put the pac on top of or mixed it in with dry laundry & the pac didn’t dissolve properly. Or maybe it was a combination of a short wash cycle & the pac being mixed in with dry laundry. I’m not sensitive or allergic to perfume scents or dyes. But I really like that this detergent is unscented & doesn’t waste money on unnecessary dyes or perfumes. I hate the new container design that’s slick with rounded edges that make it much more difficult to grab & hold than the design of the old container that’s blocky with squarish corners & I can easily pick up one handed from the side. When they changed the container design, I still had the old blocky container. So, I dump in 60 pacs from the new container design & put the container in the garbage. It’d be less wasteful, & save customers a little money if the 60 pacs were sold in bags, like the 30 pacs. Those that want to could save a little money & produce less waste buying a 60 pac bag & refilling the same hard container, or not use a hard container at all. I wear durable cotton clothing that’re a variety of dark earth tones & shades like blue, gray, green, khaki, brown & a little black. That includes long sleeve & muscle shirts, cargo pants/shorts, briefs & black ankle socks. When my darks were washed & dried with my white briefs & socks the white clothing left a little white lint & small pill balls on my dark clothes, that were difficult to impossible to remove. So I switched to dark colored briefs & black ankle socks, no more problem of either white or dark lint. Even though my cotton clothing is durable I don’t want it to shrink unnecessarily or fade prematurely so I dry all my laundry on delicate/low with one unscented store brand “free & clear” dryer sheet. Thank you sooooooo much for whoever invented this product for production. I'm telling everybody that I know about this wonderful wonderful laundry soap. My children do not scratch or digital into their skin as much as they did. Nor do they cry because their skin starts to hurt them. So thank you everyone that was involved in the production of this product. I'll be looking for way more products in the near future. I feel like this is a great product for individuals who have very sensitive skin or are allergic to fragrances. It washes clothes well and it's all you need it to you. My partner and I are very active so most of our laundry is work out gear which is usually soiled in sweat and dirt, so we need something to combat that. This didn't do a superb job at removing those hard sweat stains/smells. I do think in order for this to work for us, we have to use some kind of pre-soak or stain remover before throwing it in the wash (an extra step that we don't usually worry about with other brands). But if we were washing regular wear clothes or maybe even delicates, I would use this detergent. I will keep this on hand for when relatives/friends visit and want to do a load of their laundry since it's fragrance-free and still good for all skin/allergy concerns.Jessica86396716

I was skeptical at first to use this laundry detergent as it’s free of dyes and perfumes yet claims to remove odors. So being skeptical, I used this for a load of laundry- all while hoping for a miracle. It’s tough to find products that do what they claim to do so I didn’t have high hopes. Well let me tell you, I was wrong about this product. Gladly wrong that’s for sure! I was so pleasantly surprised at how great this Landry detergent worked! It is free of dyes and fragrances as I mentioned however, your laundry comes out with such a “clean” smell, it’s just lovely. I will absolutely be purchasing this laundry again and most likely switch to it all together. I bought some last week and was doing laundry today used this on one load and it was YELLOW!! What the heck did they do? Luckily I had a little of the original clear for the other load and the clothes I used the yellow on are now making me Itch! WHY DID THEY SCREW UP A PRODUCT THAT WAS PERFECT?? At first I thought the yellow one was old or maybe had been exposed to heat or cold weather so when I went to the store I looked and they were all yellow at the same store I bought the clear at a couple months ago! I poured the rest of the bottle out it was kind of lumpy looking too. SO DISGUSTED!! Now I have to go look for a new clear brand for people with sensitve skin.DeeDee
