I was hesitant to buy this because of the bad reviews, but it was on offer in my local store so I thought I would try it out. I have naturally straight (with a very slight wave) and thick hair and I have been dealing with frizz and fly aways because of the summer humidity and wet weather. I use this serum in conjunction with the dream lengths conditioner (not the shampoo as it makes me look oily), wonder water, and no hair cut cream. It makes my hair soft and shiny without weighing it down or making it look oily. It tames frizz and flyaways but over time I need to reapply on dry hair to smooth it out again. An added bonus is that it smells great and it offers heat protection which will help with preventing frizz too! Overall I think it's a good serum for my hair type, but I guess it might not work so well for others.Carys25
Enjoying this hair serum on my fly away baby hairs this summer. It gives my hair a nice shine and not too oily if the right amount is used. I do have thin hair so if I overdo it, this is too much. I’ve been using this product for a couple weeks now and it has already done wonders for my hair. I naturally have very coarse, thick, dry hair and use a litany of oils and deep conditioners to keep my hair maintained. I feel like using this product consistently may alleviate that. This oil is on the thicker side, (which helps weigh down my thick hair- in a good way) and initially smells fruity / clean but somehow dries down to a more masculine clean scent (which I prefer for my hair). I think I found another go to product to help tame this mane. I loved the frizz-free results that stopped frizz at my hairline without making my hair greasy (AMAZEBALLS), but whew, the smell is awful. Luckily the smell goes away after thirty minutes or so. I have medium thick 2B wavy/ curly frizzy hair and I have one heck of a time trying to get my hair under control. I used this, in combination with the Dyson Airwrap, Verb Ghost oil (for shine), Verb Ghost hairspray (for hold), and IGK Good Behavior Smoothing Balm. I was pretty impressed by the results. For an amateur it was an easy at home blow out, and my results have held for 3 days without my hair looking greasy or wild. If you are on the fence I would say try it if you can get past the smell for the amazing results. I have been using John Frieda frizz ease extra strength serum since 2007. It was my go-to hair product, and I swore by it. I used it every day and definitely spent a lot of money on the serum over the years because it was so good. This new formula does not work the same way, it does not remove frizz, it is way thinner, it leaves a greasy consistency in the hair. It's so disappointing. Now I have to find a new serum to replace John Frida extra strength, which really makes me sad because I was so loyal to the serum and the company. While I do like the new eco-friendly bottle, the new formula is way inferior to the old formula, and not worth the money. I use this on my hair when it’s damp/wet to help keep it smooth. I have a LOT of very long, very straight hair of medium thickness. I use two pumps and apply from my ears down and work it through my hair. I air dry my hair but when I occasionally blow dry it, this works just as well. I don’t apply it to my roots. It smells amazing, high praise coming from me as I’m sensitive to scents! It’s fruity and a bit sweet, but not overpowering once my hair dries. My husband also uses it on his crazy thick, curly hair and it helps tame some of his frizz, but not all (I don’t think anything can tame his hair!). I bought this cuz I saw all the good reviews about it. I’ve had several different serums at home but when I tried this for the first time, I’m in love. Not only is it lightweight, but the scent smells awesome too! The quality is good, it made my hair soft and tangle-free. Hair is so much smoother, silkier and no frizz at all. Doesn’t make my hair oily too. I attached a pic of my hair after using this serum however, I would like to point out that in order to achieve what I’ve shown in the pic, you can’t just rely on one product. I did use garnier anti-humidity leave-in conditioner on damp hair before using my heat protectant to blow dry. Right after that I applied this serum and then DAvines OI Oil as a finishing (another great product). The serum itself is good, I only used it from mid lengths to ends. The packaging size tho, it’s quite small. BUT! Only 2 small pumps is enough for my hair (I’m southeast asian and my hair length is below my chest, it’s medium thick) so a little goes a long way! If you have thicker hair, you need to section your hair to a few parts, I only sectioned to 2 because it’s not that thick. I am very picky when it comes to hair products and hardly come across anything good. Except for Kerastase and a couple of One'n'Only products, nothing comes close to my expectations. I have a thick set of unruly hair. It is prone to frizz and damage like no tomorrow. Due to my hair's fast growth, I have to color it every 10 days so you can imagine the damage. This product feels heavy on the hair but does a great job in making hair look and feel silky and beautiful. As a Kerastase Oleo Relax serum user, I have to say that this does a better job in smoothing my hair. Most importantly, my hair does not fall as much. Usually, smoothing products do a number on the roots and cause huge hair fall. Also, this does a great job in combating frizz in humidity. Many products, including One'n'Only Aragon oil serums and Oleo-Relax, do not come close to the performance of this product. Once the product dries in your hair, it does not feel greasy at all. In fact, it provides volume and shape. I use a curling iron after using this on dry hair. My curls never looked better. I also use this on wet hair before blow drying. So to me…I can’t give 5🌟 due to nothing being absolutely “perfect”. A little background. I am going to be 29 yrs old…jk (49) so I have damaged and damaged my hair FoReVeR (color). I have extremely thick and somewhat long hair (almost to the bottom of my back). So I live in Wi and it’s either humid or dry. No in between. I literally have a head full of horse hair. I have been a huge fan of It's a 10 products for quite some time now. I like to apply this when my hair is still damp and find that it gives my hair added softness and manageability. It's a bit pricey, however a small amount goes a long way! I'm an especially huge fan after the process I've recently put my hair through. I've bleached it twice, used a toner, then spontaneously decided to color it again in a very romantic light pink color. My hair soaks this product up, and still feels soft and touchable! I have thick, long, naturally wavy hair that I blow dry to smooth it out, otherwise it's really poofy. This does help with that. I saw another reviewer say that it has silicones that can cause buildup. I am a big styling serum user and am always looking for products to use with my very unruly kinky frizzy curly blonde locks. I had an open mind when using and had enough product to try it out for almost a week! I liked the texture the consistency and oh that smell! However when it came to application and the styling was it just fell short for my hair type. I found that warming up the product between my palms helps a lot for my hair to absorb the product. But once I blew out or styled my hair it always felt like I needed to rewash it. I could not get the national bounce nor did it help to define my curls at all. I am a 60-year-old Caucasian woman who has had curly, dry hair all of my life and a few years ago my hairdresser, a good friend of mine, introduced me to J Beverly Hills Crazy Curl and I haven't used anything else since! I use it when my hair is damp or dry and it tightens my curls perfectly so they are not fly-away. It is a thick, sticky lotion but does not dry on your hair that way or leave it dry and dull. It doesn't take a lot of this product to work well so a bottle lasts a long time for me. I can never use a hair dryer because my hair gets frizzy and unmanageable if I do. This stuff is SERIOUSLY grease inducing. If I use 2 drops my hair looks so greasy by the next day that I have to wash my hair all over again. Also, it doesn’t moisturize my hair at all. If anything it makes it dry and brittle. Probably bc if I use a tiny amount bc I hate to waste products, I have to wash my hair every day bc otherwise I look like I haven’t washed my hair in a week. I doubt that the hair oil I prefer to use is clean, but at least it leaves my hair silky soft and smooth, and conditions it. I think I’m going to have to chuck this product much as I wanted to get through it before getting something else that actually worked.

I really enjoyed using the John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum. It was super easy to use with the pump dispersing just enough serum with 1 pump for short hair. I have long hair so I used 2 pumps and it was perfect. The serum isn’t too oily or sticky on my hair and didn’t leave it feeling weighed down after using it. I don’t wash my hair every day and it didn’t make my hair feel dirty or heavy, which I really appreciated. It made my hair feel soft and silky and not so frizzy. Changing the formula for Frizz Ease is extremely disappointing and frustrating! Disappointing because it was one of the few serums that worked and were plant extract free!! When you added the plant extract I can no longer use the serum. It was great for my coarse, slightly curly hair. I have always loved the John Frieda products. Especially this Frizz Ease Serum! The product is a light weight, clear serum that works wonders on frizzy fly-aways. The bottle lasts for a long time as well. My favorite thing is that a little goes a long way. So start small, rub one little pump together in your hands, apply at your ends first, and add more as needed, while working your way to the roots if necessary. This can make your hair greasy if you’re using too much. So remember to go easy until you decide what works best for you. I really like to apply this product (just one pump) to my very long hair after washing it, then wrap it in a towel to dry just a bit before finishing it off with a blow dry and/or style! I received the Curl Wow Flo-etry vital natural serum as a gift for review. I have 4b/4c hair and typically use products closer to an aloe Vera gel on my hair to hold my curls. I hadn't tried a more cream-based product in a while, so I tested it on freshly washed hair and co-washed hair on three different days while on vacation in Cancun. My curls looked great in the front where my hair is looser once the product dried but it wasn’t a long-lasting hold. My hair felt dry after using the product which is what led me to co-wash. I got a better results from co-washed hair than I did completely clean post deep conditioning. I wouldn’t buy the product for myself as it doesn’t give my hair either moisture or hold. I also don’t like that it looks white until it dries.SC212
I am so into smells and this product smells like a kids hair product. That was my first impression which did not give me much confidence in the potential performance of the product. I think for my hair putting this on with it wet as directed did not work at all. To be completely honest I don’t think this did anything poisitive for my hair at all. It seemed to be slightly detrimental. I love trying new products but this was not a success.SoSuperGood
Is this magic in a bottle?! This serum is everything!!!!! I used this serum on my raw curly bundles and I’m shook. My hair started off a mangled mess and as soon as I added water and a pea size of this serum, my hair immediately began to detangle. The only thing I used was my hands, serum and water. It also took my waves to curls instantly. This has to be my absolute favorite product from the line. I still will this product line had scented products….then it would be an A++!!!! It works well to tame new hairs that are growing and like to stick up and generally frizzy hair. This has a similar scent as their Deep Hydrating Mask with the sweet flower smell but also has a hint of hair spray. For those sensitive to smell this one is a bit stronger than the mask. The label warns that it is flammable – saying not to use around open flames or while smoking. It has an odd slick feel on the hands. Took lots of extra soap to get it off. Not sure how well it will come out in the shower. Overall it is a fine product, it does the job to control frizz. I gave it only four stars due to the flammability and difficulty to remove.someone
I've always had soft, shiny, and healthy hair….up until a few months ago. I made a few bad hair decisions which left my hair feeling dry and frizzy. I decided to see how this product would work, and I am so glad I did. I applied a small nickel sized amount to towel dried hair, from mid shaft down. I applied it evenly and used a hair pick to comb through my hair, really making sure there was even distribution. There is a light coconut scent which faded away and was not at all overpowering. I let it sit while I did my makeup and then blow dried as usual, drying in small sections with a round brush. WOW! My hair felt just like it used to! It was soft and shiny and had great movement, no longer felt dry or damaged. I absolutely love this and will be using it everyday!rodaniel
AMAZING I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but- I finally spent the money on this and I’ll never go back. I wear hair extensions that bolt to my hair, I can’t take them out. They become unbearably dry if I don’t use hair oil daily. Omg this product. Smells amazing. It’s coconutty Leaves no greasy residue. At all. A lot of other products made my hair look visibly greasy. This product is amazing! First and foremost, it smells heavenly! To be honest, that's the reason I first starting using it, because it made my hair smell great. All I do is apply one pumpful (the perfect amount for my long hair) into damp hair right after I shower. Then one day I decided to see if it made any difference to my hair and so I skipped using it. My hair was awful! Frizzy and dry feeling, constantly in my face, dull looking etc. Needless to say, I realized that this product is amazing. Despite the constant heat styling, and other damage that happens to my hair, my stylist always comments on how healthy is looks and I honestly can say it's because of this product. And if my results weren't enough, my mom, who doesn't believe that any product can really do much, tried it one day because her hair was getting really dry and course and immedietly went out and bought some which she never does with products. This serum is getting hard to find in major retail stores and I was scared this formula had been discontinued since other "Frizz" brands have widened. LOVE THIS SERUM SO MUCH! I always apply it when my hair is damp. This method has helped me untangle my hair a lot faster pain free. After I’ve worked the serum into my hair, brushed it and let it air dry. My hair feels so soft. It gives my hair a beautiful shine. I have been bleaching my hair for years, so at times my hair can appear very dry but this serum has changed the appearance of my hair. It really does help with frizz. I've used this product for years and I adore it! Unfortunately, Walmart is the only place I can find it. Sometimes I cannot even find it in store. I recently ordered 12 bottles via their website. I got the order in 9 different shipments! Apparently their stock is running low in warehouses? I'm glad I ordered when I did… The product helps tame my frizzy hair. It's a thick serum and I have thick hair, so I tend to use a little more product than recommended. It's the only thing that works in my hair. I've tried expensive stuff from the salons and nothing else tames my hair like this does. I'll truly be devastated if/when this product is no longer offered!pam632

*BEST* hair serum there is! My hair just loves it! This is the second bottle I’ve bought. This serum makes my hair the softest and shiniest. The scent is nice, flowery, and very gentle and subtle. It does not make my hair greasy nor sticky. I apply a small amount every morning (on dry hair) and after hair wash (on wet hair). It tames frizz and makes my hair manageable, especially during highly-humid weather (my hair’s very sensitive to humidity). Nice sized bottle with pumper. I bought it because of its composition: it contains argan oil (the best oil for hair), silicones and Isopropyl myristate that I found out that it makes my hair the softest. Extremely moisturizing. Sometimes we get so used to eating the same foods and wearing the same style for years strait. Im not sure if the ingredients are the same or the brand of an individual resource used in creating the bed head serum have changed. I can say something has changed either the product or the state of control my hair is in this day in age. The serum does not hold up as well or long as it did when I first started using the product. Even in the strongest outdoor winds the serum used to hold my hair together like it should for hours. Now after 8 years of continuous use Im finding that the flyways no longer stay in place or the lustrous shine shows in my hair. I am switching using a few different products that claim to produce the value of the description. Price wise I can not complain as I paid 15.98 plus tax at Walmart when they carried it 8 years ago. Now the price is almost cut in half I often question the consistency of the ingrediencies going into making the serum have declined. Walmart quit selling it as well as all the other salons and stores.Anonymous
I have To say I was Very skeptical using this because I have Read very mixed reviews. I love it!!! I have Very curly hair. It made my hair soft, straight without being that weird pin straight and shiny! I highly Recommend this product! Also it was a mix of rain and snow today and my hair didn't frizz or get weird!!!Heidi
I have used hair serums to protect my hair from heat since I was young since it is so fine. I also have frizzy and curly hair so it can be challenging to tame it if the products are not a . This product is by far the worst experience I have had with a hair serum and/or heat protectant. I do not even believe it should be called a serum. The consistency is that of a HAIR GEL, and dries almost faster than a hair gel, this makes the application incredibly difficult when the instructions say to "work it through your hair", which then got more knotted than if I had not done anything with it for over 4 days. I pushed on though to attempt to straighten my hair, which it did not feel like it was protecting anything. It did not help with frizz either, it made it worse than it normally is. I will never use this product again, may not even give the company's products a second chance either. So sad that it was such a waste of money.The Analyst
