20 Best Serum For Dry Acne Prone Skin (Jan 2023 Update)

I pretty much read every review for this product before using. I was excited to use, but was also nervous due to a few negative results that some people shared. I have very sensitive skin so I wasn`t sure how my skin would react. I did test the product on a small patch of skin before fully using to make sure I would be okay with it. I have been using the product for the last two weeks and have had very positive results! I use this every other day and rotate with the Vitamin C serum and my skin has never looked better. My acne has cleared up and my skin is much brighter! I am wearing much less makeup and feel great! I would say a few things:1. Everyone`s skin is different so generalizing that this product will work for everyone is probably not the best idea. Having said that, it has worked great on my sensitive skin and has helped tremendously with my acne.2. This product is strong, so I would only use one or two drops at a time – don`t over do it!! I think that may have been why some people experience REALLY dry skin after using.3. I was looking for something that would work pretty fast – and this product worked almost immediately for me. I`m not sure if this will be the case for everyone, but I did not experience a "purging" phase or anything like that – it was only positive results after I started to use.4. I've suffered from a mild form of hormonal acne for 15 years and I've had both major and minor breakouts which caused hyperpigmentation and (fortunately) very few scars. My skin texture has improved significantly after only one month of use and the red and dark spots are slowly starting to fade out. I break out A LOT less and the small pimples that actually come out look way less inflamed and swollen than before; they usually dry out in 24/36 hours. My skin overall feels more hydrated and softer. I use it both at night and in the morning (when I'm not going out since it can make your skin more sensitive to light) and in addition to C2 and M3. Summary: Used a WHOLE bottle of this serum and my skin looked its best ever! So, Im 30 year old skin of colour person. I have very dry sensitive acne prone dull skin so its very tricky to find a suitable product and NEVER has a product worked well for me. While i was using this serum i had a natural glow, my blemishes all disappeared and texture was a LOT better. Ever since i finished every drop of this serum in the bottle none of my blemish came back! Its been over a month ( almost two months) since i finished the bottle due to busy routine i couldn't reorder so my pigmentation is reappearing and texture is again getting a bit rought however i still have zero new blemish! About to buy my second bottle. This is a great and very gentle product. It really does help my combination acne/breakout-prone skin. I especially notice the difference when I have to wear face masks for 12h a day. I apply a few drops (less is more) in the evening every other day followed by a basic moisturiser (I use tretinoin on alternate days) and can really tell the soothing and calming effect it has on my skin, in addition to preventing and/or treating existing breakouts). I also have the 15% azeleic acid serum which is great but found that this one works just as well (you don’t always have to go for higher concentration, lower % can work just fine). Great product and I would really struggle to find an alternative for it that combines all those ingredients and delivers the result this serum does for this price. 10/10Sofia

This serum is perfect for winter time, it’s very thick and moisturizing, and a little goes a long way. It takes some time for skin to absorbs it, and it goes very well with moisturizer. Another great serum from Cos De Baha: high percent Niacinamide and Zinc that helps with clearing and soothing the skin. I apply in the morning and in the evening on bare clean face and then follow up with other serums/moisturizers which are part of my usual beauty routine. The serum is a little sticky so I let it dry well for few minutes before applying any other products or make up. It comes at an affordable price compared to other high street brands that offer similar products at a much higher price. I have only started using this serum so I cannot comment on the long term effects but I’m looking forward to seeing good results over the course of the next few weeks. I absolutely love this product! I bought it in August and used it every day! Such a soft, smooth, oil free texture! It fades dark marks and plumps the skin! I have very oily skin so that is why I went for this product and it didn’t break me out. It lightens the skin so only use it on problem areas. Love it. Light serum, sits well on the face. This is a beautiful and hydrating layer in the routine, but it isn't as moisturizing as I might have expected. I do love it but even though I have combination skin I definitely need to apply a good cream over it, even when I do four or more layers of this. That's to be expected. The consistency is milky and soft, it applies and spreads easily, doesn't pill at all, doesn't irritate, and layers very nicely. The only downside of this is the dropper, the bulb is very small and the tube is large and the product is not very fluid, so you really have to get it out in several goes instead of just one. They could fix this by increasing the size of the bulb. It's not a real problem but something easy to improve.Michael O.

I've tried a few other PK products and loved all of them, but wasn't sure about this one. I expect serums to be liquid/runny but this one is pretty thick and milky white? The dropper is useless and I'm pretty sure it's too short to even reach the bottom of the tube, and it doesn't pick up or squirt any product. If it does, it shoots it everywhere. I honestly had to just dip it in and use the outside of the dropper to scrape the product off onto my finger and then apply. I'm not sure if it did anything for my skin, but I also didn't use it consistently enough to fairly test it. Like I said, it's more viscous, but it applies more smoothly like a liquid, soI think you could get a lot of coverage with little product.Irene

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this product has completely transformed my skin. Since I was a teenager, I would suffer from acne and redness, mostly lots of small bumps (closed comedones) all over my forehead and around my nose. I've tried all sorts of products – lots of strong, drying cleansers, topical treatments, various exfoliators, but honestly just accepted that my skin wouldn't budge. After a few weeks of using this serum, my acne was significantly better. I've used this product twice a day for over a year, and I rarely get acne now, only small red splotches that often vanish overnight. My typical routine now is super simple and basically the same 2x a day; just the Cerave renewing SA cleanser, this TO Niacinamide, then a moisturizer & spf in the AM. I try to exfoliate twice a week, but even in weeks where I fall off this habit, my skin stays clear thanks to this serum. I almost never write reviews for products, but am writing this now so anyone with similar skin issues to me can give this serum a try! I had never tried other niacinamide products before this, so I imagine other niacinamide solutions would also work well for me – but this TO serum is so affordable, I don't plan on trying anything else any time soon.Jess

This serum has been an almost-miracle product for my sensitive, redness-prone, blemish-prone skin. My only qualm with it is that it SERIOUSLY STINGS if you apply it to any active breakouts or broken skin. My skin was in seriously terrible condition due to a Lupus flare and hormonal acne, but after everything healed, I have been able to use this without irritation, following it with the Hyaluronic Acid/B5 serum, Pycnogenol, and Marula Oil (or moisturizing factor lotion). It really has transformed the texture of my skin, to a more noticeable degree than most of The Ordinary's other products (besides the Alpha Lipoic Acid serum, which I miss so much). My pores are refined, especially on my forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks on either side of my nose. Once prone to being easily-inflamed, sensitive areas of my face are no longer red, and now look more smooth. Oily patches, especially my nose, are less-oily. I have fewer clogged pores and blackheads, and less blemishes from irritation. I purchased the 2oz bottle from The Ordinary's website, since I apply this to my chest, upper arms, and back as well, as I sometimes have breakouts from malassezia. It also quickly fades the purple/red post-blemish marks on my very fair skin. It does make my skin feel drier and tight if I don't moisturize thoroughly afterwards, especially during this part of the winter, so keep that in mind. The price also makes it easier to use it liberally where ever I need it. Other than the stinging, it's a fantastic serum for my very high-maintenance, 30-year-old skin.arh

I heard amazing things about this product and did some digging into all the great benefits niacinamide and zinc have for the skin, and it seemed like it would help target my main skin concerns! I was aware of the possibility that I may experience purging and that some people can have allergic reactions but it's incredibly rare to the point where many dermatologists will assume its not an allergy to niacinamide, rather another ingredient present in the product that the person reacted to. I knew niacinamide was meant to help with the skin barrier as well as brightening and texture improvement, all things I struggle with. I did a bit more digging and noticed that the tested amounts shown to be effective and safe for the skin range between 2-5%. To be clear, I'm not saying 10% is bad or dangerous, it's just not as tried and true as that 2-5% range that's been studied many times. Like all new products, I did a 48 hour patch test on my arm as directed by The Ordinary's guidelines, and had no issues. Before starting my routine I used their (very helpful!) resource for when and how often to use specific products and to only introduce one new product at a time to prevent irritation/negative effects. What I'm a little upset about, is the lack of easily accessible information about how this product can cause irritation (among other negative effects) for people with non-oily skin. After about a week of use (3 drops for face and neck), my cheeks became hard like rough leather… I also felt a burning sensation after each use, but really wanted to give it a chance and went back to the basics (cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen) and I still had issues and my skin continued to harden and dry up. I was frustrated and confused because I couldn't find answers as to why I was having such a strange reaction anytime I used this product. Eventually, after much digging, I discovered that this should not be used by those with dry skin, especially at such a high concentration of 10%. I still stand by niacinamide and zinc as skincare ingredients, they are excellent for your skins health and have really helped many people in their skincare journey. This can be a great option for those struggling with acne prone skin and textural irregularities (if you have an oilier skin type). I'm here because I don't want other people with similar skin types to mine to buy this and feel lost or confused if they have a bad reaction. It's not that your skin is being ridiculous or difficult, it just may be that the concentration is too high, or that niacinamide may not be something you use as an active/solo-ingredient in your daily/weekly skincare routine. I challenge The Ordinary to include a section under this product outlining that if you have dry skin, that this product may cause issues, or better yet, offer a niacinamide product formulated for people with dry and/or sensitive skin to increase inclusivity. All in all, I hope whoever chooses to read this lengthy review, that you feel more informed and empowered to make a confident decision for yourself. By no means do I dislike The Ordinary, I LOVE all the other products I have from them! I just wish I had been advised about the potential issues if you don't have more of an oily/combo skin type.MMB

I received Neostrata Products as a gift from Voxbox Australia and Neostrata. My partner and I have been now testing theses products for 3 weeks. Neostrata Bionic Face Serum we have been using this as step 2 for our skincare routine. Only small amount is needed my skin feels firmer and brighter. My complexion has improved. This is great product I am super impressed. This serum is sticky texture but I don’t mind that as it works for me. This Neostrata Bionic Face Serum is so lovely! The texture is similar to most serums and is a lovely thick oil that feels silky smooth and lightweight once rubbed into the skin. You only need the smallest amount of product for full face coverage, I use two pumps. It absorbs Into the skin super fast so you do need to work quick once applied before it goes tacky but once dried your skin will INSTANTLY feel hydrated and glowy! Out of all the products I was sent in the #MeetNeostrataAU goodie box, this has to be my least favourite unfortunately. As I have been using actives and serums for a while now, I eliminated them for a period of time whilst trying this Bionic Face Serum. To say the tacky texture of this product annoyed me would be an understatement. It did not have a nice feel when applying and it felt like I was lathering my face in glue! I had to wait for a minimum of at least 5 mins before the serum sunk in before I could get on with the rest of my routine, not good when in a rush in the morning so I left it to put on at night. This is formulated to visibly correct signs of aging and dullness. I admittedly do not have any deep wrinkles or fine lines but I was hoping to see some improvements in the texture of my skin and clarity. Given that I do use a serum with a higher percentage of retinol, this product didn't really do much for myself, though it is a good starter for someone wanting to introduce it into their routine, as it does contain Retinyl Palmitate, albeit a low percentage as it is quite low in the ingredients list. If you can withstand the tackiness of this serum and are new to the world of actives and serums, this would be a good product to start with as I did not break out and it did not irritate my rosacea skinolisyah.a

This is the first serum I've ever used so I can't compare it to anything. I've been using it for about 8 days now and so far I'm very happy with this product. At first I was putting a bit too much on but I got it together after 2 days. I use this product in the morning after I wash my face and before I moisturize then put my makeup on. I put under my eyes to keep them looking bright and help control any lines, I just turned 41.I also use it at night after I wash my face and before I apply my night creme. I had for the first time started using an under eye gel moisturizer with hyaluronic acid from Neutrogena it's nice but it cost more than I think it's worth when this tube is gone I'll cut that out of my regimen and replace it with the serum and of coarse my moisturizer. I feel my skin has been looking brighter and there's no puffiness under my eyes. I really like the way it feels too plus the price is great. I also use their vitamin c serum and live it. I'm very happy with this hyaluronic acid. I do highly recommend this serum I'll be continuing to purchase this item and will probably subscribe when I figure out how long a bottle lasts me.UPDATE: I still love this product and purchased a second bottle I noticed that they changed the color if the bottle to clear. The serum is cloudy in colour but just be careful when putting the pipette into the bottle as some of the serum had gotten stuck up in the neck and needed to be gently poked to get down. The scent is gorgeous and I can really pick up the geranium, which is listed on the back of the bottle in the ingredients. Unfortunately, I didn't find that this transferred to my face, which is a shame as this is one of my favourite scents. Applying it was easy. The pipette worked well and the serum didn't run down my face either. It spread thinly and dried quickly. Not too long after it had dried, I noticed that my skin did feel a little bit softer. Knowing that hyaluronic acid is great for this skin, I was eager to try this serum.It’s a good size bottle and is well sealed when it arrives to prevent damage/leaks. I have never found something this amazing that gets rid of my acne without destroying my skin in the process. over the years I've spent an insane amount of money on products that "promised" my skin would be ance free, only to leave my face peeling and worse than before (i bet many of you can agree with this). I noticed a change in my skin within one overnight use, my mind is blown. I typically have dry skin, but I get small white heads sometimes on my nose. I washed my face with the AHA hibiscus gel, toned with the raspberry vinegar, and then applied two 4 drop layers of this serum focusing on my nose. I waited for it to dry down and then patted some RPC cream over everything. I woke up the next morning with the whiteheads gone and absolutely no redness, only small non-noticable bumps where they used to be. I’ve been struggling with awful maskne since the pandemic started. I have sensitive combo/oily skin and often break out with new products. Purchased this on a whim from Sephora and I’m so pleased with it! The formula is lightweight and absorbs quickly, layers beautifully with other products and makes my face feel super soft. I use this at night before bed and by the time I wake up, my pimples are almost completely gone with hardly any redness. The only thing I don’t like is the packaging. I dislike pump bottles because I feel like I never truly get to use up the full amount of product, there always seems to be a little extra stuck in the bottom that I can’t get to. NEW HOLY GRAIL. Got rid of all my other salicylic acid acne treatments and never going back! Background: I have very sensitive, combination skin with lots of redness. I also get hormonal chin breakouts and tiny acne patches where my mask is. This clears my skin up and keeps acne at bay better than any acne product I have ever used. The niacinamide also helps so much with keeping my skin calm and redness down. It takes two pumps for my entire face, is lightweight, and sinks in so quickly. I honestly love that about it because I can put more moisturizer on top of it, more confidently knowing the serum is already absorbed. Can’t say enough good things! I could go on and on! Small bottle but as previous reviewers state, a little does go a long way. It absorbs quickly and I really like the smell. Moisturiser sinks in quickly after and skin is left soft. Some acne serums/creams I’ve tried previously are too drying and although I suffer from blemishes and blocked pores frequently I don’t have really oily skin so using them just dried my skin out and made it feel awful. This I can use daily and my skin feels great. I’m not sure it’s overly prevented new spots yet, but it’s certainly no worse. I hate to give this a 1 star because it actually works. It doesn’t break my skin out or burn, and it actually evened out my skin tone and made it smoother. Why the negative review then? I can not in all good conscience recommended this to anyone I know or a stranger because the price per portion is absolutely insane. $24 for 0.5oz?!! That’s ridiculous, and the larger one is even a higher mark up. The Ordinary makes an equally great one for 1.0oz and it’s like $16. Change the price or make it bigger. I read reviews before purchasing this product and read that it smelled awful, but I thought it couldn’t possibly be that bad. No, it’s terrible. So bad that the first time applying it I nearly threw up about 3 times with it sitting on my face. HOWEVER, the applications after the first weren’t bad at all and I was used to it. I promise after the first run it’s not bad and it’s completely worth your time. This product makes my skin glow for real. I’ve only experienced a very small purge that was literally nothing compared to how my face reacts to other skincare products typically. First the packaging is very cathy because of the light blue boxing and labels. This is a different type of drops bottle that I've seen before. Very wide enough for more product. And made of glass. Directions were well easy to understand as well as the ingredients etc. The dropper is made of glass as well and holds a lot of product when using. I apply this serum twice a week in my morning and night skincare routine after cleaningand toner. The scent is very very much citrus and just like squeezed oranges. The texture is runny so be careful! But thickens up a bit when rubbed in. Glides on pretty well and not too oily. I would recommend using sparsely you don't want to be super moisturized. You can definitely notice right away the moisture from this serum. My skin feels very hydrated, soft and breathable. No hars scents, over drying, oiliness nor breakouts. I am a 42-year-old who just recently started battling acne for the first time ever; on top of that, my skin is aging, so I feel like I am battling two things at once. My friends call me "crunchy" since I prefer to use organic brands like Juice Beauty or Andalou Naturals, but my usual go-to acne products were not helping my most recent flare-up of pimples. I decided to ignore ingredients for once and try something new and I was pleasantly surprised to find a product that tackles both fine lines and acne at the same time. I bought it without batting an eye, despite the hefty price tag. The first night I used it, it did seem to help with acne and my skin felt like oily than it had; however, I did notice my skin seemed red and agitated. It was not anything awful like breaking out in a rash or hives, just not happy skin. After my third or fourth night of use, I noticed that it was having an effect on a mole I have had for at least 10 years. Y'all, I'm not even lying, but this product destroyed my mole. Now, I was not emotionally attached to this mole, but my mole never hurt anyone and it was fine just sitting there on my face. This product killed it — it was like it ate it off of my skin. Yes, I know that sounds disgusting, but that's literally what happened. After the 4th time and me noticing my mole dying, I stopped using the product altogether. It was too late to save my mole. (RIP mole) While I want something to kill my acne, I think it's a little too strong if it can do that to a perfectly fine mole. IDK. I figured out I was not getting all my makeup off washing my face, after I began vigorously using Neutrogena face wipes. That settled down the acne, but this product put the acne TO REST. I use it in the night and morning. The best thing is that it has eliminated a lot of my undereye fine lines, and the fine lines around my mouth. I will never not have this!!!!! Buy it now!!! I bought this product because I get acne here and there and have mild acne scars that I was hoping this product would help eliminate. I have used this product twice daily and everyday as instructed. I have been patient to even give it some time to work. My acne had gotten worse and left darker marks that do not seem to disappear with this product. I feel like this product does nothing but clogs my pores. I was hoping to find a solution to a clear and acne- free face, BUT this project has definitely disappointed me.Tina17

I have never had a complexion to brag about. That is until almost 4 years ago when I began a journey into the unknown with GoPure! I already use many GoPure products, so when this serum was introduced, my first reaction was No! No more! But at some point I peeked at the description, realized it targets most of my issues, and decided to give it a try. Wow! It’s my new favorite serum. I have issues with psoriasis (my body hates me!), and lately it has creeped onto my face leaving red scaly patches in its wake. This serum calms the redness and dryness dramatically. I’ve tried face oils before, and I already knew I was never going back. This was on a whole new level entirely! I purchased it thinking worst case, no change but my skin can be hydrated! Turns out, best case! I don’t struggle with breakouts anymore with the exception of hormonal breakouts. Even then, no more than 3 spots!! I wish I had known about Averr Aglow and its wonderful products sooner!!! I've struggled with acne on and off since I was a teenager and have tried everything along the way: prescriptions, big-name popular systems, over the counter systems, other so-called "all natural" products, etc. All these other systems/products caused adverse reactions (i.e. red and itchy), and/or would dry my skin out that it would then become excessively oily, or just not yield any results whatsoever. At the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic I began to struggle with acne on my face(specifically my left cheek). I was a nurse on a COVID floor and had to adjust to the consistent use of a n-95 mask. A few weeks into it I realized my face was reacting poorly to the frequent use of the respirator. I was already layering on my prescription acne products from my dermatologist (BenzaClin and Retin-A) for years, but neither seemed to be able to prevent this acne from my cheek. I was desperate and depressed, my face hurt all the time and I was so uncomfortable. I cam across Averr aglow in an add on instagram and I figured "why not!". I bought the perfectionist overnight serum and the clear skin elixir. About a week into using these products I noticed a huge difference, my skin started to dry up and heal. I would use the serum on my face at night and during the day because it helped my cheeks from over drying with the constant on and off of the mask. I was able to stop my retin-a completely and now only use small amounts of my BenzaClin (mostly on my forehead). I always wanted to find a natural product that would be as effective as a prescription and averr aglow finally did that! I swear by this brand now and after 4 months my skin is the clearest it has been in years. I tried every astringent, mask, pore strip, expensive pore vacuum, steamer and acne wash known to man. I could never clear white heads and black heads on chin and all over nose. I have (genetic) huge pores on my nose . They have terrible white heads. I had to use painful needle sharp tools to scrape them off leaving my nose bloody and swollen. They were so bad , if I smushed my nose down a little or side to side they would all pour out by the dozens. No matter how clean i kept my face , the disgusting white heads stayed. I gave up till I took a chance on this after researching products on google . The white heads disappeared in 3 to 4 days of initial use. I smush my nose to look for them and nothing is there! It also works as a zit treatment and even fades the dark spots from my terrible blemishes that used to stay on my face for a month after i had a zit Warning though! It says not to use with retinol products at same time. Also!! You have to use it religiously for results!! Once in morning and once before bed! I don't personally use over entire face . I only spot treated problem zones. If I forget to use it even one day the white heads will return little by little. So if anyone says this doesn't work, I would question their consistency of using it because you cant take a break and expect the pores to stay clear. Also. If you cake make up on every day, your results might not be as good as mine or others. I stopped using foundation and use tinted moisturizer and powder . A lot of days , I dont wear anything but moisturizer. So, this probably helps the process and I have less stuff clogging my pores. I must say, free samples are great but when it comes to beauty products, often there just isn't enough of the product to use it long enough and consistently enough to see results. Which was the case for this product. I love products that take on blemishes and I happen to be dealing with an abundance of blackheads on my beautiful face (cruddy weather, catching every cold virus that rolls around and allergies maybe?). I appreciated that this was a serum and therefore an addition to my regular, but always changing, daily regimen of beauty products, instead of a replacement for something. The directions suggest 1-2 drops and oddly enough I think a dropper-type top would be a fitting improvement the company could make, because every time I ended up with more then that in my hand. This didn't help the whole "not-enough-product-in-sample" dilemma… The serum goes on fine, isn't too greasy. No tingling (and slightly satisfying) feeling like you might get with other blemish fighters. It didn't disrupt my routine because it was quickly absorbed into my skin so I was able to move on to the next thing right away. Since I knew I probably wasn't going to witness much improvement or change with the sample I decided to do some light research on the star of this product: Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA). This sucked me into a black hole, which is the internet, and I learned more about the science behind our pores and BHA then anyone would truly want to.. I found a great video that made the connection between BHA and SA. DID you know our pores have tiny hairs in them that shed regularly?.. Now these hairs contribute to the gunk that fill our pores and BHA is said to act like drain-o for them. BHA Loves oil. And there's tons of research to back up the benefits, so the Inkey List might be on to something here. I also learned online that the company includes its own "beauty translator" which has basic science info and what and what not to use the product with.. Would had been helpful to have!CloverPDX

I understand why this is so underrated in the skincare community. Yes, it has an unpleasant smell (it dissipates fairly quickly though). And yes, if the packaging was the one with the pump application would've been better. But, and there's a big one, this actually works. I was looking for something to replace the DE Framboos in my daily routine. I have oily-sensitive skin, so I need BHA to tackle breakouts, and I can't use just about anything. I've been using this every morning for about a week and a half and it just works – breakouts stopped, active ones greatly reduced. It glides on, tackiness doesn't last, and layers well with my moisturiser, spf and light coverage foundation. Definitely going to keep using this.NH

Little to no scent, it does sting a little after applying but after checking multiple sources and many reviews, this is normal with retinol products. I have very sensitive skin so I imagine those with normal skin will not have any stinging.I dislike that CeraVe doesn’t disclose the amount of retinol percentage and instead gives a non-answer, but the tiny amount of retinol it has is indeed effective. I have REALLY uneven skin, lots of bumps from old blemishes that made hiding everything with makeup difficult. I bought this a little over three weeks ago and used it in tandem with Melano CC to lighten blemishes and it’s amazing how much has changed, my skin is nearly flat! I never thought any product could make my blemishes go away completely but I think it’s possible if I use resurfacing products for a while.For the first two weeks, I applied once daily before bumping it up to twice daily with the rest of my routine. Be prepared for a LOT of flaking at first if you had bad issues like me. After using up this bottle, I intend to change to a resurfacing product with a higher percentage of retinol!DN

I have sensitive and combination skin, parts are extremely dry and other parts are extremely oily. Many products break me out so I was hesitant to try this. After my first use I immediately noticed dry, flaky patches that begin to burn. I almost decided to stop it but thankfully I went online and did some research. After reading about retinol I learned that it's completely normal to have dry, red patches and some tingling or burning for the first week or 2. My skin was purging and becoming used to the product. I added in a non comedogenic moisturizer to help with the dryness. It has been a few weeks now of me using 2-3 times weekly and it no longer causes flakiness or burning. The red, post acne spots on my chin are already disappearing and my face is looking much healthier. I will be recommending this product to everyone who suffers from post acne spots and scarring.MandaK

I'm on my 3rd bottle of this serum. It is the only retinol I have ever used that does not burn my skin. "Resurfacing" is a great name for the effect, the application feels gentle but after a few consecutive days my skin starts flaking off like no tomorrow. Like, sheets of skin. In the first few weeks of use it dug up healed acne cysts, turned old scars bright red, and made my skin feel like a paper bag. Derma-E Vitamin C Night Cream makes for a great tag team. After healing up my skin is hydrated, bright and even and I rarely use concealer anymore. It's important to drink enough water, use moisturizer and sun protection with retinol, and to exfoliate gently and frequently. And don't ever ever put this on your lips lolLyz
