I received a complimentary product from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I am always happy to try a new serum for my curly 3B/C hair. This stuff is liquid gold. It smells good, has a nice weight to it, but isn’t greasy or sticky. The texture is smooth and silky, spreads easily, absorbs quickly into my hair. I suspect most people probably don’t need a lot, a pump or two would suffice. Today I used it with the shampoo and conditioner from the set. The shampoo and conditioner make my hair super silky and soft and this serum provided moisture and heat protection. I have zero frizz! Today I used my hair dryer with a diffuser attachment and wow, my curls got super springy. It’s been about eight hours since I washed my hair and applied the product. My curls are intact, silky soft, smooth and defined. I used about 3 pumps worth which is probably a lot but I have a lot of hair and need a large quantity of product. I’ll be trying this with a round brush and hairdryer and flat iron in a couple days. But for now? I love this serum, it’s great!rosie.k
So it’s a very convenient size bottle only 3 ounces very bright yellow color and absolutely marvelous scent of flowers that is not overwhelming and very clean and pleasant. There’s a little cover over the pump that’s transparent, the bottle is transparent as well and the pump is very convenient and only gives you the amount that you need per each pump action. It’s very liquidy and oily but the serum is nice and smooth and silky and it works pretty well especially on damp hair but I would actually suggest using it on dry hair so you don’t overuse it because it is oil or oily and you don’t want to have that much oil in your hair because it’s going to get dirty/greasy pretty quickly then. it did also help with the flyaways and keep it from becoming frizzy. I think it’s a very good product and I will continue to use it because it works and I really like the scent and I really like that it’s not such a big bottle that I could bring it with me in my purse and I love the little cover for the pump so even if it spills it won’t actually leak. I will recommend this product and the line because it’s high quality, luxurious appealing and almost substitutes for a slight body mist or perfume that smells like beautiful smelling flowers which reminds me of wisteria. This line is great for very dry hair. I especially like it for use after I have been on a heat styling binge. It’s definitely a heavier, thicker shampoo and conditioner. I have coarse, dry hair, but it gets weighed down easily, as well. I prefer to use this line when I am providing a “deep conditioning” treatment to myself. The serum is excellent in small amounts, and takes frizz. I would not recommend using the serum and the cream together. Serum is good for days I want to flat iron and smooth. The cream is better for days I’m allowing hair to air dry. The cream is a bit heavy for my liking. Not that it affects the product’s performance, but I am a huge scent person – the wish this line (and all of the Biolage lines) had a more appealing fragrance (they don’t smell badly, just reminds me of regular bar soap I guess). I absolutely love this product. I was looking for a cleaner product to use before blow drying my hair. The packaging came great. It was shrink wrapped so I didn’t leak in the shipment. The composition of the product is a little thicker than a serum closer to that of a gel. I needed to use it very little and it spread quite nicely. It added moisture to my hair and did not seem to negatively affect my scalp. I am sensitive to a lot of products and this one was Not irritating in anyway. I absolutely love the shine that I gave my hair after my blow dry and it did not leave any type of heavy residue. I think it’s a great benefit to the hair shaft. I didn’t notice any fragrance smell so this and was very light scent if at all. Sometimes we get so used to eating the same foods and wearing the same style for years strait. Im not sure if the ingredients are the same or the brand of an individual resource used in creating the bed head serum have changed. I can say something has changed either the product or the state of control my hair is in this day in age. The serum does not hold up as well or long as it did when I first started using the product. Even in the strongest outdoor winds the serum used to hold my hair together like it should for hours. Now after 8 years of continuous use Im finding that the flyways no longer stay in place or the lustrous shine shows in my hair. I am switching using a few different products that claim to produce the value of the description. Price wise I can not complain as I paid 15.98 plus tax at Walmart when they carried it 8 years ago. Now the price is almost cut in half I often question the consistency of the ingrediencies going into making the serum have declined. Walmart quit selling it as well as all the other salons and stores.Anonymous

I have used hair serums to protect my hair from heat since I was young since it is so fine. I also have frizzy and curly hair so it can be challenging to tame it if the products are not a . This product is by far the worst experience I have had with a hair serum and/or heat protectant. I do not even believe it should be called a serum. The consistency is that of a HAIR GEL, and dries almost faster than a hair gel, this makes the application incredibly difficult when the instructions say to "work it through your hair", which then got more knotted than if I had not done anything with it for over 4 days. I pushed on though to attempt to straighten my hair, which it did not feel like it was protecting anything. It did not help with frizz either, it made it worse than it normally is. I will never use this product again, may not even give the company's products a second chance either. So sad that it was such a waste of money.The Analyst

This product was received as an incentive from Influenster for my honest review. WOW. I was not expecting to like this as much as I do! I’ve been using this product for a couple weeks now and it has already done wonders for my hair. I naturally have very coarse, thick, dry hair and use a litany of oils and deep conditioners to keep my hair maintained. I feel like using this product consistently may alleviate that. This oil is on the thicker side, (which helps weigh down my thick hair- in a good way) and initially smells fruity / clean but somehow dries down to a more masculine clean scent (which I prefer for my hair). I have dry, bleach dyed blonde hair and the humidity makes my hair so frizzy and tangled. It has a natural smell that didn’t bother me and the texture wasn’t too thick, thin, or oily. This hair serum instantly smoothed and tamed my hair after application. A little goes a long way so I didn’t have to use a lot of product to get great results. I think I found another go to product to help tame this mane. I loved the frizz-free results that stopped frizz at my hairline without making my hair greasy (AMAZEBALLS), but whew, the smell is awful. Luckily the smell goes away after thirty minutes or so. I have medium thick 2B wavy/ curly frizzy hair and I have one heck of a time trying to get my hair under control. I used this, in combination with the Dyson Airwrap, Verb Ghost oil (for shine), Verb Ghost hairspray (for hold), and IGK Good Behavior Smoothing Balm. I was pretty impressed by the results. For an amateur it was an easy at home blow out, and my results have held for 3 days without my hair looking greasy or wild. If you are on the fence I would say try it if you can get past the smell for the amazing results. I have been a huge fan of It's a 10 products for quite some time now. I like to apply this when my hair is still damp and find that it gives my hair added softness and manageability. It's a bit pricey, however a small amount goes a long way! I'm an especially huge fan after the process I've recently put my hair through. I've bleached it twice, used a toner, then spontaneously decided to color it again in a very romantic light pink color. My hair soaks this product up, and still feels soft and touchable! I have thick, long, naturally wavy hair that I blow dry to smooth it out, otherwise it's really poofy. This does help with that. I saw another reviewer say that it has silicones that can cause buildup. Just like with many other products like this, YOU NEED TO USE A CLARIFYING SHAMPOO at least once a week or whenever you feel you need it.Angela

I am a big styling serum user and am always looking for products to use with my very unruly kinky frizzy curly blonde locks. I had an open mind when using and had enough product to try it out for almost a week! I liked the texture the consistency and oh that smell! However when it came to application and the styling was it just fell short for my hair type. I found that warming up the product between my palms helps a lot for my hair to absorb the product. But once I blew out or styled my hair it always felt like I needed to rewash it. I could not get the national bounce nor did it help to define my curls at all. I’m super bummed because I really liked the fresh scent and ease of the pump. Well hopefully I will be able to try different products from @Its A 10 in the future. I have been using this product for more than a month and I became quite disappointed. I do not really see any difference in my hair and rather it has left it quite stiff. I have mixed hair. Mom is white/black and dad is black. So I always had the problem of straightening my hair but it being that frizzy and humid looking straight and it would be a mess within an hour. This product is amazing. I’ve been using it for like 3 years now. A little goes a long way and make sure you don’t put it on your roots if you are prone to have more greasy hair. I’ve literally been out in humidity, walked from my house to work in 95 degree weather and my hair stayed straight. It’s my favorite please guys buy this. The trick is to put this on towel dried hair after washing your hair. Then blow dry it with a round brush, I use the one with bristles in it to make it shy as well. i love this product and it does everything it says it should — my hair is finicky, so that's high praise. but the glass bottle? garbage. knocked it over one time and it shattered, and i do mean SHATTERED, into many tiny pieces. i keep finding them the hard way because they were too small to see to sweep up. t couldn't salvage the serum because of all the little shards! nearly $30 in the trash, itty bitty shards stabbing my feet, and oil/serum that took hours to completely remove from my floor. i understand sustainability, but surely there's a medium to be met here?
The product was okay; I used it for about 4 days. Then on day 5, the slightly oily bottle slipped from my hand to the tile floor and shattered – I mean SHATTERED- into a million pieces. Still picking up tiny pink shards of glass and also pulling them from my feet. Have used lots of oil type hair products in past and never had breakage like this. I would avoid based purely on packaging!

First of all, Pureology can do no wrong in my eyes. Every single product they make is absolute gold. I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. The only single drawback is the scent, I wish it was less peachy and last shorter. Not to my liking anyway. I would definitely recommend this product for someone who wants to improve the look and the feel of their hair using heat treatments.DafDaf
I really enjoyed the shampoo from this line, but I feel the conditioner & smoothing cream are too heavy for my hair type. I shampoo and style my hair once a week and with the use of this product I had to shampoo after 2 days due to itchy scalp and just overall weighing my hair down. I use another high end line smoothing creams and I can go 6-7 days without shampooing. I’m all about that dry shampoo life. This product smells great and my hair looked amazing right after I blowed it out and it definitely did smooth my hair out, I just didn’t like the weighing of my hair down after 2 days. I have used Rusk products before but this hairspray does not work unless you use a lot of it. I have fine hair but I have a lot of it. I don't want to have to constantly keep spraying my hair with a ton of hairspray for it to hold. I am very disappointed in this product. I bought three cans of this and a couple of other brands. is such an amazing product! This hair serum isn’t for everybody because it’s such so heavy and thick, but if you have thick, dry, or coarse hair this would be perfect for you! This is a very thick serum that you only need a little bit of, and the nozzle makes it easy to get the perfect amount. This smells amazing, it hydrates deeply, and it makes your hair so shiny after you blow dry. This will weigh down fine hair types but for my thick hair, I use this for all of my blow dries. I have been on the search for a good heat protectant for curly hair. After testing many other products, I found this product. When I used it to straighten my hair, it got my hair very soft straight and shiny. When I wash my hair after a week of being straight, my hair went right back to normal. Keep in mind I did touch up my hair with a flat iron multiple times throughout that week. If you have thick curly hair I suggest you give this product a tryjiyah.w

Love it! Have curly hair so bought it to straighten my hair to cut it evenly, my hair has bounced back perfectly! I used leave-in first, wouldn't recommend it on its own. Similar thickness and viscosity to castor oil, coats the hair well. I used loads on top of my leave-in but it didn't weigh my hair down or make it look product-ty, just super smooth. If you have very fine hair perhaps the spray version might be better, I chose this one because it's more concentrated. It's a good-sized bottle that will last me a while especially as I'll only need it for when I want to trim my hair, definitely recommend 🙂Marya P

Okay this is the best stuff ever. I have fine, wavy to curly hair. My hair is EASILY weighed down, and let me tell you, this product delivers. This is NOT an oil. Like how hyaluronic acid or niacinamide supports a moisturizer, this serum supports your conditioners or leave in moisturizers while helping smooth, shine, and protect. Unlike facial serums, this one goes on AFTER the moisturizing products to lock in the goodness. It strengthens your hair and allows for better style retention, as well as influencing your natural texture to take center stage in all its glory! This is a water gel like texture, it’s fast drying, but with no tacky ness or a residual texture of its own. It’s completely absorbed unless you use too much. If you use too much it will pull humidity from the air, making your hair feel like you just were in a sauna for 30 mins until it dries again. Use less than a full pump for medium hair, even less for fine hair. It’s styling benefits are definitely refreshed by scrunching with water! Next day this a huge time saver for me after sleeping on my hair. How I used it: After washing my hair I applied a pea size of number 6 Bond smoother, and BRUSHED it through upside down. I then did HALF a pump of No.9, I tapped over the surface of my hair, and then used the flats of my hands to coat further. I applied a pea size amount to my hands again, then scrunched away. I'm a student of the @iamblackgirlcurls school of thought and regularly do wash and go's, but was looking for a way to simplify my routine even further by swapping out no. 0 and no. 3 with this. I was excited at first but after playing around with it as a base gel then topper, the cons outweighed the pros for me. Pros: – good slip when applied to soaking wet hair (if use 4-5 pumps for whole head) – gives great shine once dried (if use < 4 pumps for whole head) – crunchy finish that implied longevity – shortens dry time – is applied as part of styling, rather than adding 10 minutes beforehand Cons: – using enough for good slip -> excessive foaming -> persistent, obvious white cast -> hair flaking – breaking gel cast makes hair frizz and feel dehydrated within 2 days, increasing wash frequency per week – flakes risk breaking out my face and back, increasing wash frequency per week – increased wash frequency results in over-manipulation and less length-retention I also watched a review from a salon owner who explained that for treatment purposes no. 3 gives the most bang for your buck, so I'll use up what I have but I'll be going back to no. 3.maninan
I have textured, difficult, wildly frizzy 2b/3a curls/waves. They are not uniform so my hair sticks out in all directions and looks REALLY dry. Half my hair still has bleach damage from when I was platinum blonde. Basically, any hair product really has its work cut out for it! I found this serum to be VERY calming and nourishing, and it made my hair feel silky and soft, which is NOT easy to do. I have medium thickness, medium density hair that's an inch or two past my shoulders, and a full pump was too much – I ended up having to re-wash my hair. You really only need a little, applied to the bottom half of your hair. For me, half a pump distributed between both hands and applied with the praying-hands method was perfect. The product will last you a long time! Anyway, it took on my difficult locks and won! For this reason I wonder if it might be too much for people who have fine, healthy hair that's straight or only slightly wavy. The older I get the less manageable my hair has becomes. Coloring for the last few years, aving a baby, and not really up keeping my hair hasn't helped. JVN instant recovery cream has definitely made a difference in my hair after using it for two weeks. First, it has such a fresh clean scent so I don't mind using it in my hair. First, I purchased this with my own $$ after seeing an article from The Kit so I was not paid or sponsored for this review! I just want to help my people find hair products that work b/c it’s hard to find!!! I have shoulder length relaxed hair with 3inches of curly new growth and I’ve been struggling to find a solution that allows me to moisturize and smooth my new growth while not weighing down my relaxed hair and CHILE, I found her! This serum is magical- I used JVN pre-poo oil(GAME CHANGER), then a full Olaplex treatment(no 0 for 1hr, then no 3 for 1hr, followed by 4+5) then I used a bean sized amount of this serum, mixed with a bean sized amount of Olaplex no6 and a pea sized amount of Pattern by TER leave in conditioner on wet hair. I use the LCO method, which I find is better for relaxed hair than the LOC method, so I layered a little Pattern Jojoba oil, Olaplex 7 and a smidge of castor oil on my roots and ends. It’s been a week and usually by now, my hair is dry, limp and crazy, but this serum has my hair bouncing and behaving!! It’s light, my hair is snatched and blends with my weave like I’ve never had before! Usually I have to moisturize like crazy and my hair gets weighed down and greasy before my wash day, but this serum is all the product I’ve used on my leave out all well and it’s rich hunny! A little goes a long way so don’t sweat the $, it goes on smooth and spreads well. It takes a lot of heat to style my hair. And then it's still frizzy and not so straight after using the highest heat setting on my hair dryer and straightener. Someone told me about this stuff. I ordered it thinking "great, another product to add to my collection." Well to my surprise, IT WORKED!!! I use it on my hair when wet, about 2 pumps. And then about 2 more pumps before I style when dry. Not greasy or oily at all. I use it every day. My hair loves it. It has transformed my hair , and it gets my hair straighter than it has ever been. Also works great when curling your hair. It works great with any hairstyle. Best hair oil I’ve come across! So lightweight but effective. I don’t even remember how I was introduced to this oil, but I am glad I was! Barely any scent. A slight baby powder can be hinted from the bottle but barely there. Your hair will be shiny and soft using this oil. No matter how much is applied, your hair won’t be weighed down.
