It takes a lot of heat to style my hair. And then it's still frizzy and not so straight after using the highest heat setting on my hair dryer and straightener. Someone told me about this stuff. And then about 2 more pumps before I style when dry. Not greasy or oily at all. I use it every day. My hair loves it. Similar thickness and viscosity to castor oil, coats the hair well. I used loads on top of my leave-in but it didn't weigh my hair down or make it look product-ty, just super smooth. I have been a huge fan of It's a 10 products for quite some time now. I like to apply this when my hair is still damp and find that it gives my hair added softness and manageability. It's a bit pricey, however a small amount goes a long way! I'm an especially huge fan after the process I've recently put my hair through. I've bleached it twice, used a toner, then spontaneously decided to color it again in a very romantic light pink color. My hair soaks this product up, and still feels soft and touchable! I have thick, long, naturally wavy hair that I blow dry to smooth it out, otherwise it's really poofy. This does help with that. I saw another reviewer say that it has silicones that can cause buildup. I am a big styling serum user and am always looking for products to use with my very unruly kinky frizzy curly blonde locks. I had an open mind when using and had enough product to try it out for almost a week! I liked the texture the consistency and oh that smell! However when it came to application and the styling was it just fell short for my hair type. I found that warming up the product between my palms helps a lot for my hair to absorb the product. But once I blew out or styled my hair it always felt like I needed to rewash it. I could not get the national bounce nor did it help to define my curls at all. I’m super bummed because I really liked the fresh scent and ease of the pump. Well hopefully I will be able to try different products from @Its A 10 in the future. I received a complimentary product from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I am always happy to try a new serum for my curly 3B/C hair. This stuff is liquid gold. It smells good, has a nice weight to it, but isn’t greasy or sticky. The texture is smooth and silky, spreads easily, absorbs quickly into my hair. I suspect most people probably don’t need a lot, a pump or two would suffice. Today I used it with the shampoo and conditioner from the set. The shampoo and conditioner make my hair super silky and soft and this serum provided moisture and heat protection. I have zero frizz! Today I used my hair dryer with a diffuser attachment and wow, my curls got super springy. It’s been about eight hours since I washed my hair and applied the product. My curls are intact, silky soft, smooth and defined. I used about 3 pumps worth which is probably a lot but I have a lot of hair and need a large quantity of product. I’ll be trying this with a round brush and hairdryer and flat iron in a couple days. But for now? I love this serum, it’s great!rosie.k
So it’s a very convenient size bottle only 3 ounces very bright yellow color and absolutely marvelous scent of flowers that is not overwhelming and very clean and pleasant. There’s a little cover over the pump that’s transparent, the bottle is transparent as well and the pump is very convenient and only gives you the amount that you need per each pump action. It’s very liquidy and oily but the serum is nice and smooth and silky and it works pretty well especially on damp hair but I would actually suggest using it on dry hair so you don’t overuse it because it is oil or oily and you don’t want to have that much oil in your hair because it’s going to get dirty/greasy pretty quickly then. it did also help with the flyaways and keep it from becoming frizzy. I think it’s a very good product and I will continue to use it because it works and I really like the scent and I really like that it’s not such a big bottle that I could bring it with me in my purse and I love the little cover for the pump so even if it spills it won’t actually leak. I will recommend this product and the line because it’s high quality, luxurious appealing and almost substitutes for a slight body mist or perfume that smells like beautiful smelling flowers which reminds me of wisteria. This line is great for very dry hair. I especially like it for use after I have been on a heat styling binge. It’s definitely a heavier, thicker shampoo and conditioner. I have coarse, dry hair, but it gets weighed down easily, as well. I prefer to use this line when I am providing a “deep conditioning” treatment to myself. The serum is excellent in small amounts, and takes frizz. I would not recommend using the serum and the cream together. Serum is good for days I want to flat iron and smooth. The cream is better for days I’m allowing hair to air dry. The cream is a bit heavy for my liking. Not that it affects the product’s performance, but I am a huge scent person – the wish this line (and all of the Biolage lines) had a more appealing fragrance (they don’t smell badly, just reminds me of regular bar soap I guess). I'm generally pretty leary of serum type products because my hair is fairly fine/thin and products like this usually weigh it down and make it look like I need to wash my hair again. I have been using this product for more than a month and I became quite disappointed. I do not really see any difference in my hair and rather it has left it quite stiff. First of all, Pureology can do no wrong in my eyes. Every single product they make is absolute gold. I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. The only single drawback is the scent, I wish it was less peachy and last shorter. Not to my liking anyway. I really enjoyed the shampoo from this line, but I feel the conditioner & smoothing cream are too heavy for my hair type. I shampoo and style my hair once a week and with the use of this product I had to shampoo after 2 days due to itchy scalp and just overall weighing my hair down. I use another high end line smoothing creams and I can go 6-7 days without shampooing. I’m all about that dry shampoo life. This product smells great and my hair looked amazing right after I blowed it out and it definitely did smooth my hair out, I just didn’t like the weighing of my hair down after 2 days. This product is amazing! First and foremost, it smells heavenly! To be honest, that's the reason I first starting using it, because it made my hair smell great. All I do is apply one pumpful (the perfect amount for my long hair) into damp hair right after I shower. Then one day I decided to see if it made any difference to my hair and so I skipped using it. My hair was awful! Frizzy and dry feeling, constantly in my face, dull looking etc. Needless to say, I realized that this product is amazing. Despite the constant heat styling, and other damage that happens to my hair, my stylist always comments on how healthy is looks and I honestly can say it's because of this product. I used this on my clients who had the coarse texture that needed something to smoothe down frizz, add shine and promote softness. I have to say I figured this product was the exact same as bio silk oil essentially, it smelled similar actually but it’s thicker and more hydrating and doesn’t just sit on the surface. This isn’t exactly my favorite hair oils, I’m definitely devoted to my olaplex #6 and my olaplex no.7 bonding oil. Sometimes I mix them together, sometimes I just use the no.7 but this oil is one that actually penetrates the hair and doesn’t just sit on the surface. It softens coarse hair, from the inside out instead of making it feel more greasy with build up. I didn’t think this was a bad product by any means, but their formula isn’t anything new or innovative. The olaplex no.7 treats and repairs the bonds in your hair while moisturizing and hydrating split ends, design essentials isn’t anything to write home about. Both of us use a serum daily for years and have tried quite a few. This serum is light, not oily nor heavy, smoothing, does not make the hair unnaturally shiny and has a lovely lasting scent. The serum performed well on both my straight hair as well as my daughters curly hair. It also performed well when she used a straightener to straighten her hair. We both tried the serum on towel dried hair a few times and then on dry hair a few other times as well as on both air dryed and heat styled hair and the results were all equally satisfying. I am 30 years old. 30! Never in my life have I managed to find the balance between silky and greasy hair. UNTIL NOW. No joke. My hair is thin, wavy (in a bad way), broken, frizzy, and prone to oil build up: so I do nothing and I look like Charlize Theron from Monster, or I do a minuscule amount of styling and look like Wormtongue from LOTR. Last night I wet my hands an applied a very small amount of this – pea sized – to half-dried (shoulder length) hair. It was sticky going in, but then I blow-dried the rest of the way with a round brush and OHMYGOD my hair has never been this silky in my life! All my broken ends were laying down flat and nothing was heavy or greasy like my hair usually is with this type of product. Wow I am impressed by this product. I read the discription and thought I would go ahead and give it a try. I am naturally dark brown, but I went blonde. Going blonde left me with dry brittle very damaged hair. Lately it has been rough trying to blow dry straight all the little fly aways that comes with damaged hair. I applied this product on my damp hair generously. It felt like a thick sticky cream while applying, and I was nervous that it was going to make my hair sticky and dry or crisp. I applied a generous amount to 4 sections of hair (about the size of a quarder from root to tip). After blow drying with a round coarse brush I was able to have straight hair that looked amazing and it felt smooth. I thought it looked exceptionally straight for the most part and I skipped hot ironing it flat because I thought doing so would eliminate the body that I had already going on with the round brush. It is now day 2 since using this product and wow… Normally my hair is a tangled mess because of all the bleaching. My hair looks AMAZING! It practically looks healthy looking, even though it is not. I have been using this for about a year now, at the suggestion of my hairdresser. My hair is frizzy-curly. I used to never be able to let my hair air dry or blow it dry without straightening it. Thanks to this stuff, I no longer have to worry! It has a fruity smell that helps me start my day off on a positive note. I just put it in my hair every time I get out of the shower. There are no guidelines anywhere, but my hair is shoulder-length (and fluffy), and I use about a quarter size amount in my palm. I rub it between my palms and then spread through my hair. One thing I've noticed is that if you let your hair air dry, it will harden in your hair. However, this is easily mitigated by either brushing your hair again or just running your fingers through your hair when it's dry (or close to dry). Whenever I get too cocky and think that my hair has just somehow magically changed, and I don't use this product for a day, I immediately remember and regret it! The older I get the less manageable my hair has becomes. Coloring for the last few years, aving a baby, and not really up keeping my hair hasn't helped. First, I purchased this with my own $$ after seeing an article from The Kit so I was not paid or sponsored for this review! I just want to help my people find hair products that work b/c it’s hard to find!!! I have shoulder length relaxed hair with 3inches of curly new growth and I’ve been struggling to find a solution that allows me to moisturize and smooth my new growth while not weighing down my relaxed hair and CHILE, I found her! This serum is magical- I used JVN pre-poo oil(GAME CHANGER), then a full Olaplex treatment(no 0 for 1hr, then no 3 for 1hr, followed by 4+5) then I used a bean sized amount of this serum, mixed with a bean sized amount of Olaplex no6 and a pea sized amount of Pattern by TER leave in conditioner on wet hair. I use the LCO method, which I find is better for relaxed hair than the LOC method, so I layered a little Pattern Jojoba oil, Olaplex 7 and a smidge of castor oil on my roots and ends. It’s been a week and usually by now, my hair is dry, limp and crazy, but this serum has my hair bouncing and behaving!! It’s light, my hair is snatched and blends with my weave like I’ve never had before! I have very dry hair and my hair always feels so frizzy. This Nexxus ultralight smooth serum works so well for me. I have 3C/4b hair. And just move to California it’s been very humid and I haven’t been able to find any products actually keep my hair slicked straight. I tried this the other day I put it on my hair while it was wet and blow dried it out. Then straightened with the flat iron. Topped with Olaplex oil. It has been flat ever since!! I think the big thing here is to put it on your hair wet and then blow dry it before the using the flat iron. It’s probably double the price I would want to pay but I do like that and makes my hair weightless! It’s really hard to do with cream on my type of hair I usually can feel it gunky pretty quickly. Sometimes we get so used to eating the same foods and wearing the same style for years strait. Im not sure if the ingredients are the same or the brand of an individual resource used in creating the bed head serum have changed. I can say something has changed either the product or the state of control my hair is in this day in age. The serum does not hold up as well or long as it did when I first started using the product. Even in the strongest outdoor winds the serum used to hold my hair together like it should for hours. Now after 8 years of continuous use Im finding that the flyways no longer stay in place or the lustrous shine shows in my hair. I am switching using a few different products that claim to produce the value of the description. Price wise I can not complain as I paid 15.98 plus tax at Walmart when they carried it 8 years ago. Now the price is almost cut in half I often question the consistency of the ingrediencies going into making the serum have declined. Walmart quit selling it as well as all the other salons and stores.Anonymous
I have To say I was Very skeptical using this because I have Read very mixed reviews. I love it!!! I have Very curly hair. It made my hair soft, straight without being that weird pin straight and shiny! I highly Recommend this product! Also it was a mix of rain and snow today and my hair didn't frizz or get weird!!!Heidi
I have used hair serums to protect my hair from heat since I was young since it is so fine. I also have frizzy and curly hair so it can be challenging to tame it if the products are not a . This product is by far the worst experience I have had with a hair serum and/or heat protectant. I do not even believe it should be called a serum. The consistency is that of a HAIR GEL, and dries almost faster than a hair gel, this makes the application incredibly difficult when the instructions say to "work it through your hair", which then got more knotted than if I had not done anything with it for over 4 days. I pushed on though to attempt to straighten my hair, which it did not feel like it was protecting anything. It did not help with frizz either, it made it worse than it normally is. I will never use this product again, may not even give the company's products a second chance either. So sad that it was such a waste of money.The Analyst
