20 Best Serums For Combination Skin (Jan 2023 Update)

This is a nice serum. I only use it at night time, but have noticed a difference since I started adding it to my nighttime routine. When I wake up in the morning I notice that old spots have gone down and my overall skin texture has started to smooth out. My skin just looks bright in the morning compared to dull and just blah without this in my routine. I also use this on my neck at night. My neck had two discolored lines and they’ve gone down and overall smoothed out. The texture on my neck has dramatically smoothed out and I think a lot has to do with this serum. I use the brightening toner in the morning and this serum at night. I don’t put any other stuff on my neck other than my cleanser and moisturizer so I know my results are mainly from adding niacinamide. My neck looks like more of a match to my face, and when you’re aging like me matching my neck to my face is a good thing. Before I incorporated this to my routine my neck started showing pretty decent signs of aging. It was also discolored from left over tans in the past. So it helped make things more even. Overall I’m happy with this product, I personally haven’t had any negative reaction to it. I will probably repurchase when I’m out, but a little goes a long way so it’ll be awhile.Kyle A.

I wish I’d taken before photos to compare. Always cleansed and moisturised my skin with decent quality products but in January my skin was making me look old, it was dull and I was constantly battling texture, clogged pores on nose and build up of rough surface layer that looked dreadful under makeup. Now use a range of good molecules products and my skin looks smoother, brighter and more youthful. I’m not needing to rely on harsh physical exfoliants either. Started with niacinamide and once I knew my skin tolerates it I added the gentle retinol cream. These both improved my skin, recently added the pineapple exfoliating powder and vitamin C powder which further improved my skin. Squalane oil is nice to layer on afterwards to soothe skin. Does require research/reading info to check which products you can use together though but totally worth it.CC

I'm very weary about trying out new skincare products after having dealt with hormonal and cystic acne from the ages of 16-20. By 20, I received a medical diagnosis that explained why my skin got the way it got, and with treatment for said diagnosis, my skin has been doing really well ever since. I have been left with acne scars (ice pick scars) that have smoothed out naturally over time and lots of aloe vera, but was ready to try something new. THIS PRODUCT completely changed the game for me!! My skin was smooth the NEXT day, and using it twice a day as instructed made a very noticeable difference after four days of use. This serum is fantastic! It absorbs quickly and very light. I have used it for nearly two months and my face is hydrated, smooth, and my pores seem smaller. A little goes a long way. I have stopped using expensive youth serums because of this product. I use it morning/night on clean skin. In the morning I use a tinted spf moisturizer over it and my make-up applies smooth. I even apply it over my lips which helps hydrate before applying lipstick or gloss! Def try it, you won't regret it!! 🤩laney74

Five out of the six facial products I use are CeraVe. I've been using this product for about a month now. When I was first looking for an Hyaluronic product, I of course looked to CeraVe first. I was disappointed that I couldn't find the percentage of Hyaluronic Acid on the package or anywhere. I looked under the questions section on Amazon and everyone said that CeraVe doesn't give out proprietary ingredient info. I can understand that, however, I don't think the main ingredient, in this case Hyaluronic acid, to be part of a proprietary blend and inhibits consumers from making informed decisions about what products they are buying. Other companies list the amount of it on their labels….this has left a bad taste in my mouth and now I'm questioning my continued use of CeraVe products. L'Oréal Revitalift has no problem stating their percentage..1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid. I will stop using the CeraVe and purchase the Revitalift, since I know what I'm am purchasing. Maybe CeraVe has a higer concentration, but since I don't know, I'll have to go with what I do know. Here's what worked for me. At night, wash face, apply exfoliant/toner. Let that dry down completely. Mist face with water (I use a simple blue glass bottle with a pump spray top–got it off Amazon. Only mist lightly.). Then apply two pumps of the HA serum. Let that dry down thoroughly before adding the night cream. (It seems like using minimal product–just 2 pumps–also helped combat pilling. I like this. It lessened the pilling, and the bottle lasted longer.) YMMV, but letting ALL of the products dry down and settle in, plus lightly misting with water, AND only applying 2 pumps helped me with the pilling. So did using the serum at night vs. daytime. I'm very happy with the results from the serum. 50 y/o, slightly oily complexion, some dry spots, tend to get clogged pores; tried this serum to stop looking like a ghoul during Zoom meetings. I'm very happy with the results, and will continue to use this one. Although I was skeptical, as I have ordered skin care items before that have not lived up to the "reported" results. I was pleasantly surprized with how well this Super C Penetrating Serum worked! The process was subtle and not an overnight change in skin texture. I am happy to leave the honest review that I have definitely seen a positive change in my skin, with lines that have smoothed out and a plumper apperance over the past month. I plan to order the product again and hope to receive the same product. I have read reviews that the second order did not work as well as the first. I know I bought this product two months ago but did not start using this until two weeks ago. First reason I got this is because there was a mentioned about helping to lighten dark spots on face. I have them and I wanted to see if this serum would work. I have tried so many products when it comes to dark spots and nothing has helped so I am hoping this super c serum will. The second reason is because I use only one cream for my entire face. I was using a toner, serum, eye cream and neck cream. This is wonderful with one cream for my entire face! I purchased this serum after trying a sample and using Paula's Choice products for over 5 years. The sample was lovely, the texture was beautiful and smooth and made my skin feel soft. When the full size serum arrived, it came out in chunks and would fall off my fingers before I could even apply it. No amount of shaking the serum helped.Lisa W

I have used Paula's Choice products exclusively for about 20 years. I've tried many of the serums and, although I've liked the texture of some better than others, they have all worked well with no effects. Not true for the Skin Balancing one for Oily and Combination skin. It causes blemishes and the texture is unpleasant. After getting blemishes, I did a test on with Skin Balancing on one side of my face and no serum on the other side. FYI: The rest of my PC routine stayed the same–nothing new. Results: side of face with Skin Balancing serum got blemishes. I chose this product in a promotion giveaway but won't use it anymore. Not right for my skin. I've been using this product consistently for at least 5 years. It is my go-to foundation primer as it layers perfectly under makeup or tinted moisturizer. It adds a sort of blurred look to the skin, so pores appear smaller and your skin tone will look more even. It's even nice to wear on its own as it just makes your skin look better. The retinol in it is a bonus as it does help to refine pore size when used consistently. Do not expect the pore refining results overnight, but if you use this daily for a month or so you will find yourself surprised to look in the mirror one day and notice that your skin just looks smoother and more even toned. I stopped using this once for a couple months because I thought I'd try a different foundation primer by another brand, and I really ended up noticing that my skin looked less smooth and clear after a time. I immediately bought this one again, and I will never be without it from now on. I use it every morning in place of a moisturizer under my makeup. It is a staple for me, and I hope Paula will carry this product unchanged forever!Rae

I have to say the reviews surprised me. I've been using this serum with my routine for 3 weeks now and can only say good things. My skin is very dry and dehydrated. I'm in my 40s with some old sun damage and fine lines and my goal was to help heal my pregnancy melasma and help texture and lines. I use a korean essense first, followed by this niacinamide serum, vitamin c serum, a moisturizing ceramide toner and a moisturizing sunscreen every day and use a peptide-cerimide mousurizer unstead of sunscreen at night. The only thing I changed 3 weeks ago was switching out my old hyaluronic acid serum for this product. My skin is glowing. Im noticing a slow decrease in the extra texture and "patchiness" and keep getting complimented by friends who see it too. I saw a change after my 2nd time.

I layer a lot of products, although I mist between layers to help it soak in. Im my case I need all that moisture, and for my dry middle aged skin this has been great. Reading the reviews though I wont be trying it on my boyfriend who has rosacea… Eek!Tara Klang

I too have fallen for the Niacinamide fad that had happened on Insta and have tried my share of different Niacinamide serums. The @naturium serum is by far my favorite stand alone Niacinamide product. It checks off everything in the box, high percentage, formulated with Zinc, works well with layering. It shows a visible difference in my skin when used consistently. The other ingredients include, Propanediol, Glycerin, Zinc PCA, Vitamin E, by and Sodium Hyaluronate. Zinc is supposedly an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and regulates oil. It also shows to protect and aid in wound healing and regeneration. This is why Zinc Oxide is so often found in high performing sunscreens, as it can reflect the sun and it creates a barrier between the skin and any damaging UV rays. The serum feels hydrating, non-sticky, and has very light creamy/gel texture. The serum absorbs into the skin nicely and helps reduce some of my dark spots and provides a nice glow. I received Neostrata Products as a gift from Voxbox Australia and Neostrata. My partner and I have been now testing theses products for 3 weeks. Neostrata Bionic Face Serum we have been using this as step 2 for our skincare routine. Only small amount is needed my skin feels firmer and brighter. My complexion has improved. This is great product I am super impressed. This serum is sticky texture but I don’t mind that as it works for me. My partner has also had been using this as step 2 for his skin routine which he never had before receiving theses beautiful products. In his words I am so impressed by this face serum! This Neostrata Bionic Face Serum is so lovely! The texture is similar to most serums and is a lovely thick oil that feels silky smooth and lightweight once rubbed into the skin. Out of all the products I was sent in the #MeetNeostrataAU goodie box, this has to be my least favourite unfortunately. As I have been using actives and serums for a while now, I eliminated them for a period of time whilst trying this Bionic Face Serum. To say the tacky texture of this product annoyed me would be an understatement. It did not have a nice feel when applying and it felt like I was lathering my face in glue! I had to wait for a minimum of at least 5 mins before the serum sunk in before I could get on with the rest of my routine, not good when in a rush in the morning so I left it to put on at night. This is formulated to visibly correct signs of aging and dullness. I admittedly do not have any deep wrinkles or fine lines but I was hoping to see some improvements in the texture of my skin and clarity. Given that I do use a serum with a higher percentage of retinol, this product didn't really do much for myself, though it is a good starter for someone wanting to introduce it into their routine, as it does contain Retinyl Palmitate, albeit a low percentage as it is quite low in the ingredients list. If you can withstand the tackiness of this serum and are new to the world of actives and serums, this would be a good product to start with as I did not break out and it did not irritate my rosacea skinolisyah.a

I am not a really fancy girl. I tend to be very laid back but lately life and stress have weighed heavy on me and my skin suffered as well. From the first time I used this it my skin loved it and I actually had a glow. It's not a very heavy oil and it absorbed super quick and I was able to apply my makeup on top of it. This is everything you need in such an easy step- brightening of spots, gentle exfoliation and moisture! This stuff is magic. It’s replaced my old fav vit C serum that was much more expensive and it looks like the night cream from this same line is knocking many of my night favs out of their current rankings as well! I have a whole drawer or skin care- so I don’t say this for brownie points. This is a very good and stable form of vitamin C that most people can tolerate quite easily- it’s called Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate- look into it! I use the papaya vitamin C serum every other night. Bought this product for my daughter and told her I would share it with her. I'm glad I did. I noticed my dark spots on my face have got lighter. I like the smell. I thought at first it was oily but I have not broke out from it and I have oily skin. It obsorbs pretty fast into my skin. So my opinion I don't feel like its oily on my faceSandy

At first I was worried about this product because there are no clear indications of the concentration of these ingredients. I wanted something with vitamin C but I would prefer a higher, clearly stated concentration. I decided to use this on my chest and back and it made su a difference in my incidence of breakouts and inflammation! My skink is so much smoother and I don’t get breakouts anymore! I'm not sure what happened here. I currently use their vit C as well as their cleanser and enjoy both. While I haven't seen any difference with their vit C, it sinks into my skin nicely and causes no irritation. I've also used countless other vit C and haven't seen any drastic difference so maybe my skin just isn't a fan of vit C. Their cleanser is awesome and I'll repurchase that. As for this product, the superserum, I think I got a bad bottle. For one, I truly wish Naturium would provide clear bottles. These bottles are a bit heavier than most glass bottles that skincare comes in which makes it hard to tell when you are almost finished with the product, which is very annoying. But the main reason I dislike this product is that every time I try to use the product hardly none comes out. Maybe I have a bad dropper, but since it is a thicker consistency I've been forced to literally just try and pour on my hands. Even doing that, the product only lasted like 2 weeks which makes me think I wasn't given nearly enough. The dropper for Vit C works great and it is a lot like the superserum consistency so I'm really dumbfounded what is going on. ps, niacinamide is a great product too, best niacinamide I've used, but I have NO CLUE when I'll be finished because it isn't in a clear bottle.Adam

I bought this with the retinol complex serum, which I began using first, then had the worst skin reaction of my life. So it took me a good month before I got the courage to attempt this serum. I asked Naturium whether I should even try this one after the fiasco with the retinol serum and they said I should give it a try. I did, and I'm glad I did. I was using it at night, and when my skin healed enough to add in a different retinol product (granactive retinol by a different brand, recommended by Gothamista a couple years ago at the beginning of her retinol journey), I was alternating 2 nights with the granactive retinol and 3 nights with the vitamin C. I decided mixing actives in the same routine was not a good idea for my sensitive skin. A few weeks ago I began moving this to the morning routine (I wasn't using an active in the morning at all), and I think that's when I started seeing real, perceptible results. My hyperpigmentation seems about the same, but overall, my skin appears more refined and brighter. I did also add in a heavier water cream sleeping mask at night, so maybe the combo of that and the vitamin C in the morning is really helping. Or, it could be that I'm now using a vitamin C serum daily by moving it to the morning routine, and I can also use my granactive retinol more than 4 nights a week. Overall, I am happy with this vitamin C serum, My sensitive skin accepts it, and it seems to have some visible results before I finish the first bottle. There's another vitamin C serum I want to try, but this is def. going on my re-purchase list.G.H.

I bought this after seeing so much about it on social media. I purchased this, along with the Oil-In-Creme infusion (as a night cream) and the DayWear 72hr hydration sorbet cream. I also received a free gift that contained the Perfectly Clean foaming cleansing wash. I was still suffering from dry, flaky skin after using retinol, though I had stopped for around 2 weeks. I've tried a few moisturizers to try and restore my skin with little improvement. The night I received my order, I used the cleaning wash, followed by the ANR Serum, then the Oil-in Creme infusion. I wasn't expecting miracles, but was looking for some improvement to my skin. WOW!! By morning, my skin felt incredibly smooth and supple, the flakes were all but gone and the redness significantly reduced. Now, my skin looks better than it ever has – smooth skin, pores less visible, fine lines less visible. The serum has a really luxurious feel to it and soaks into the skin beautifully. When I apply moisturiser over the top, I don't experience any pilling like I have with other serums, particularly ones with hyaluronic acid. I no longer need a primer and my make up applies so well and lasts all day. For work, I use a drop of this serum to sheer down my Double wear foundation and it works a treat! At night I put a little on my lips before vaseline and wake up with lovely soft lips. This really is a multitasker and I would highly recommend it!Kelly

EL night repair has more of a shaper more herbal medicine type of scent to it and it feels a little sting on my skin and sometimes I had ended with irritation and redness from the EL serum and other times I was okay. I feel when my skin is exfoliated sensitive then EL is likely to irritate I believe because of some of the ingredients in this. However I love the chamomile flower extract it's a wonderful ingredient I hope to see again in other products like the now discontinued double wear light soft matte hydra makeup had it too and was calming for redness. EL serum has a lot of claims but idk why it feels harsh on the skin for me sometimes even then it has chamomile, and also it has this type ingredient, that I find extremely weird, "Oleth-3 (comedogenic rating of 5), Oleth-5 (comedogenic rating of 3), and Oleth-3 phosphate (comedogenic rating of 2), I don't understand why these are in the EL advanced night repair serum especially with a comedogenic ingredient of rating 5 for me is a huge red flag especially that the claim in the description of the serum is "non-acnegetic won't clog pores" I'm not a cosmetic chemist but that just sounds bad when I looked up the ingredients and found this out. Overall i really like the serum but for the price EL serum needs to be truly calming on the skin and formula has room for improvement to not cause irritation. I have switched to Lancome and I am really enjoying the Lancome Advanced Genifique Face Serum. For high price The packaging is so much more beautiful than the Estee Lauder night repair serum and has the same exact texture, even better, most of all Lancome doesn't irritate my skin like EL night repair does. Lancome Genifique Face Serum has a very delicate fragrance and it's truly soothing on the skin,I mix it with my EL double wear foundation as it makes it a hydrating formula. EL is far superior in makeup and better ingredients, I buy so much more from EL. But the night repair serum shouldn't have a comedogenic ingredientJanna

I was super thrilled to finally have this complimentary deluxe miniature arrive in the mail from Estee Lauder! I previously tried and reviewed their eye serum, and remember how adorable the Robin’s egg blue box was with the gold foil accent. Inside came the miniature version of the Advanced Night Repair, Estee Lauder’s flagship serum. The serum comes in a dark amber vial with a dropper for the cap. Upon applying the product to my cleansed face, the softly amber-tinted serum adhered to my skin like magical dew drops. I personally much prefer a pump to a dropper, especially when it comes to something as runny as a serum. I was a sight to behold as I clumsily used the teeny tiny dropper to strategically dispense the serum evenly across my face – admittedly creating a bit of a mess in my sink in the process. This is a very concentrated serum, and I hadn’t realized that until I checked my skin about 15 minutes later. Even with my extremely dry skin, I managed to maintain the healthy, nourished, dewy look this product achieved. I have to subtract a star, because I did feel a bit of what I would describe as a slight greasiness after most of the product had absorbed. The plus to this, is that my skin was able to maintain it’s moisture and healthy glow. The downside is that I cannot stand touching my face and feeling any sort of “film” on top. The premise of this product is to replenish and renew your skin’s moisture barrier by night and provide powerful antioxidant protection against free radical damage induced by modern day stressors by day. While the anti-aging properties can be judged after weeks of consistent use, you will notice a visible boost to your skin’s radiance with just one dropper. In the last two years I have been trying a number of hyaluronic acid serum brands. About a month ago I received a sample of Mineral 89 and I was instantly amazed with the results on my skin. The serum has a much thicker consistency than what I am used to, but this is what makes this product different. This product is AMAZING, BUT there is a caveat. Often times when I buy this product it seems spoiled, like how vitamin C can go bad if not kept correctly. The product should be a light orangey color, but when it's gone off it's a darker orange. I've used this for years and return it before I even walk out of the store most times because I know to check to see if it is bad/old/whatever is going on with it. If you do get a good bottle, you'll be writing a great review, trust me. But if I got my first bottle or two and it was sticky and smelled odd, and didn't do what others claimed it would, of course I would be skeptical too. 75% of the bottles I buy, whether Sephora or Ulta, are always bad. Why keep buying it? Because the good product is life changing and everyone notices how great my skin looks. So buyer beware, but also this product can be amazing. Hopefully this helps!Deanna13i

This is one of those products that you didn't know you needed until you try it. This is a very high quality serum that I received a sample of. My skin is mature with fine lines, very dry, and prone to acne breakouts. As instructed I placed three or four drops in my hand and applied it to my face. It easily spread over my skin and my skin absorbed it quickly and it left it feeling extremely smooth It even looked better after the first application. I got this sample of Multi-Action Super-C Retinol Brighten and Correct Vitamin C Serum from @strivectin months ago I've been using it for over a couple of months, so now it's time to give my honest opinion. I'm usually incredibly sensitive to Retinol, so I was hesitant about trying this at first. It's actually very, very gentle. Idk the % of Retinol, but I did start off slowly. I used it 2X a week, then built up to 3-4X a week. I do feel a slight warming sensation after applying it, but it does go away after about 5 min or less. The serum has a strong scent to it, like a strong citrus type scent, but it does go away after about 2 mins. It's a thick, orange serum that will feel tacky at first, but it does absorb into your skin. I put on toner first, then this serum, then a thick, moisturizing cream to keep my skin calm. I have noticed a more even texture to my skin my skin just looks overall more healthy than it did before. I have quite a bit of serum left (you only need a drop or 2), so if any changes happen, I'll update. Note: I had absolutely NO purging, dryness or redness when using this serum. If you're not used to Retinol, start off slowly. 1-2X a week, then work your way up. I think It bye bye dark spot works for me. I got few dark spots after I gave birth to my second daughter. Therefore I started using Kiehls dark spot. That took me at least 2 bottles to start working on my skin and then I added it to my collection. I came across IT dark spot when I was at Ulta. Since the price is really reasonable, I bought a 1oz bottle to try. The texture of this serum is more watery than K brand. It has a nice scent but does not last long. Normally after I finish applying my whole face the scent has already gone. It is easy to apply and absorbs well. I usually put the serum on my dark spots area only and massage the area for couple seconds each day. After finishing the whole bottle, I did notice my dark spots are lighter than before. I will buy another bottle and hope it can give me a even better result I am looking for. For the price, I cannot complain anything.crystal.s

As a person working in beauty, I’m pleasantly surprised with the potency! I love this serum! It reminds me a bit of CE Ferulic from Skinceuticals, just way cheaper lol. People are complaining it’s watery but what they don’t realize is that silicones and fillers in other products makes serums hydrating or thicker in texture, those things actually lower the effectiveness in vitamin c but this product doesn’t have those ingredients inside.

I literally see a difference in my skin in one use. It’s definitely an active vitamin c, it stings a bit, not unbearable though. I see a difference in hyperpigmentation if I use after I exfoliate at night and use spf during the day (spf is non-negotiable if you want to get rid of dark spots).

So I was looking in the mirror in the car just before a meeting and thought to myself oh Lordy, my pores are so visible so before the meeting I ordered this, I’ll admit I didn’t do much research I just read the description on here and thought right I’ll give it a go. Was in a bit of rush, but thought I need to try something!!! Went to my meeting and went home, never give it another thought it until it arrived. Waited until the night cleansed my face and used as directed no stinging no nothing really went to bed, repeated it for a couple of days and OMG this evening noticed my skin, it’s so much cleaner looking, it has caused a few spots but I think that’s because it’s riding my skin of all the blocked pores, even with these few spots my skin looks better. So would I recommend? Absolutely I would, I’m not even into the two weeks as they say noticeable difference by then and I’m already impressed. First of all I have to say that I was pretty excited about this product, because all the ingredients, especially the Chebula really interested me. But it was a total scam. Everything the serum does is drying my skin, making it breakout and it starts peeling itself on my face. I even made an allergy test, because I thought I may be allergic, but even that wasn’t the case. So I’m highly disappointed in this product. I really don’t know how how you can sell this with a good intention, when in reality it’s completely bad. And to be honest, even the ad for all the ‘True Botanicals’ products is stupid. Why let Olivia Wilde tell people it ‘completely changed he skin’, when she already has a great skin??? Stop these fake ads with already flawless or filtered skin! I have extremely dry skin and it’s very sensitive. A few years ago I started getting rosacea. I went to a dermatologist and used the cream she prescribed which cleared it up but it came back this past winter and I wanted to find a different way to get rid of it. Several people had written reviews that these products cured their rosacea. I spent $300 on these products including this serum and used the products until they ran out- which was 2 1/2 months. My rosacea decreased by maybe 30-40% but after all that time and money that just was t enough. Used the dermatologist medicine and it was gone in 3 weeks. This serum is fantastic! It absorbs quickly and very light. I have used it for nearly two months and my face is hydrated, smooth, and my pores seem smaller. A little goes a long way. I have stopped using expensive youth serums because of this product. I use it morning/night on clean skin. In the morning I use a tinted spf moisturizer over it and my make-up applies smooth. Five out of the six facial products I use are CeraVe. I've been using this product for about a month now. When I was first looking for an Hyaluronic product, I of course looked to CeraVe first. I was disappointed that I couldn't find the percentage of Hyaluronic Acid on the package or anywhere. I looked under the questions section on Amazon and everyone said that CeraVe doesn't give out proprietary ingredient info. I can understand that, however, I don't think the main ingredient, in this case Hyaluronic acid, to be part of a proprietary blend and inhibits consumers from making informed decisions about what products they are buying. Other companies list the amount of it on their labels….this has left a bad taste in my mouth and now I'm questioning my continued use of CeraVe products. L'Oréal Revitalift has no problem stating their percentage..1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid. I will stop using the CeraVe and purchase the Revitalift, since I know what I'm am purchasing. Maybe CeraVe has a higer concentration, but since I don't know, I'll have to go with what I do know. Here's what worked for me. At night, wash face, apply exfoliant/toner. Let that dry down completely. Mist face with water (I use a simple blue glass bottle with a pump spray top–got it off Amazon. Only mist lightly.). Then apply two pumps of the HA serum. Let that dry down thoroughly before adding the night cream. (It seems like using minimal product–just 2 pumps–also helped combat pilling. I like this. It lessened the pilling, and the bottle lasted longer.) YMMV, but letting ALL of the products dry down and settle in, plus lightly misting with water, AND only applying 2 pumps helped me with the pilling. So did using the serum at night vs. daytime. I'm very happy with the results from the serum. 50 y/o, slightly oily complexion, some dry spots, tend to get clogged pores; tried this serum to stop looking like a ghoul during Zoom meetings. I'm very happy with the results, and will continue to use this one. This serum is absolutely amazing. I've been using it a few times a week for about 3 weeks now, and honestly my skin has changed so much! I have used a couple of Glycolic Acid products and this is my favorite. The dropper applicator makes it easy to use. The product is thick without being sticky. I have been using for 1 week at night (and using the hyaluronic acid serum in the morning) and have seen a great improvement in my skin texture and brightness. Lacome's products are always really great and this Rénergie H.C.F. Anti-Aging Triple Serum is no exception. First of it is beautifully packaged. Compared to other Lancome products – this is exactly what you would expect from a high quality luxury brand like Lancome. This is something you're going to want to keep on your countertop not hide away in a drawer. It is a really nice item to buy for someone else as it is so beautiful. I also LOVE really great instructions on a product and this gives such wonderful instructions for best use. Really it's a face lotion so you probably already know what to do but it's really nice to get the recommended application times, usage and pumps suggested. I followed the instructions to a T and was very happy with the results. It is really easy to use, just a single pump provides a triple serum with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C + Niacinamide and Ferulic Acid. I have used this product for almost two months now and it's still going strong. The product comes out evenly and I would want you to know that I never feel the need to wash my hands after application. It applies easily, smoothly and cleanly. There is no noxious odor and my skin feels well hydrated. I would recommend this product to anyone especially those living in a cold or dry climate because it keeps my skin very well taken care of. I have received Lancome Renergie H.C.F Triple Serum from Lancome and Influenster. I love the idea of ​​having three essential formulas in one product. I have applied the serum to my washed face twice a day during 3 weeks. One time in the morning, followed by my sunscreen and moisturizer (from the same brand and cosmetic line), and one time at night (followed by my night cream from the same cosmetic line). Previously I have only been a consumer of day and night creams, so I was excited about the idea since I expected more tangible results. The serum has that characteristic aroma of the brand. It absorbs very quickly and you feel that it really moisturizes. It leaves a noticeable glow on your skin. Unfortunately, I didn't notice drastic or noticeable changes in two weeks. I have some acne spots, and I was hoping that they would at least diminish a little. I don't have wrinkles yet, so I think the serum will help prevent premature birth. In general, despite using the day and night moisturizers followed by the serum, I have not noticed any change, feeling somewhat discouraged, since the product is quite expensive, and I am waiting for noticeable results. The packaging has a nice, luxurious, and sensual presentation, but my bottle had a defect since it was difficult to press the button and all three ingredients came out at the same time. It was a challenge to achieve it since at first only one ingredient came out. I put the bottle upside down for one night and when I used it again the three of them barely came out together. The instructions say there are only two poms, but to achieve that amount I have to make 5 poms. I love this brand, but I feel a bit discouraged by not getting optimal results. CE Ferulic is a beautiful serum. Amongst other ascorbic acid serums, CE Ferulic is pleasant to use, despite also having a hot dog water smell (standard for ascorbic acid) it is subtle and bearable compared to other products. CE Ferulic is also very moisturising on my skin. It is even okay to use on its own without moisturiser sometimes. CE Ferulic gives my skin great luminosity and radiance. However, it does not have an impact on pigmentation (by this point in time I have used Skinceutical's vitamin C serum continuously for around 12 weeks). I see CE Ferulic as more of a maintenance serum rather than a life-changing serum. It did provide a good luminosity to my skin, however it certainly did not have the same wow factor as compared to, say for example, Skinceutical's Silymarin CF. However, for a good maintenance serum I think $233 is overpriced compared to what is otherwise available in the market. I am also not sure why, with this hefty price tag, the serum does not come in an airless pump and opaque bottle given that ascorbic acid is so prone to oxidising. I am not really enjoying the dropper bottle format but I have been storing this in the dark in my drawer and wrapped in foil. It has not oxidised. Overall, yes I would purchase but only as part of a bundle and/or with gift with purchase.BELL A.

I had heard about SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic from friends, and remained very skeptical, thinking: right, right, sure, sure. Their skin always looked fresh and healthy. But, still I didn't buy the product. Then, I read a laugh out loud review online by a dermatologist, Christina Haverstock, who said that “They will pry Skinceuticals CE Ferulic from my cold, dead hands.” Okay, okay, I'll try it. So, I was given a bottle, and low and behold, it worked wonders. My mature, patchy skin began to look really actually very good. Then, I ran out. I realized that C E Ferulic had actually been a game changer for my skin. My skin was smoother, softer, spots were disappearing (I had planned to have one removed but the serum took care of that), and my botox lasted much longer. So, I decided to try a LovelySkin order after a long absent when they sent me a note in the mail (smart move on their part). I ordered a bottle of C E Ferulic on discount (yay!), ordered another SkinCeuticals product (I couldn't help it), and got other samples as well (temptation); the products arrived quickly and well packaged. This is a long review to say that I don't use very many products, but this one serum, C E Ferulic, is a product that truly makes a difference for me. I actually get comments about how nice my skin looks, and that's really something when one is over 70. Because of this, I will not lapse again. Like other beauty fanatics, I've searched the internet for a less expensive version that provides the same results: firmer and smoother skin, reduced signs of aging and sun damage, and an overall brighter complexion. The pricing of SkinCeuticals’ CE Ferulic reflects years of research leading to the final formulation. Consider this: Many top-tier products come with an A-list price tag (i.e., Crème de la Mer, La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream, and the like). Moreover, without academic research and peer-to-peer review, it's challenging to predict how your skin will interact with or absorb an active ingredient. Given the volatile, reactive nature of vitamin C (hence why serums containing Vitamin C are often packaged in a dark brown bottle, which helps protect the product from oxidizing), don't trust your skin to other dupes. Others may perform similarly to SkinCeuticals’ serums, but there’s the issue of safety and reliability. You may be able to find other serums that provide results that are similar to (but not better than) SkinCeuticals’ CE Ferulic at a fraction of the price, but it’ll come with the risk of causing a reaction.menith.s

What a winner! This was a dream to trial thank you! After around 4 weeks of use, applied morning and night, before moisturiser, my skin feels and looks smoother, brighter and more refreshed. Fine lines seem less noticeable and it is a pleasure to use on my sensitive, rosacea prone skin. I particularly liked the packaging – the serum is presented in a squeeze tube with a long pointed nozzle for releasing the product. Always prefer my skin products where possible, to be packaged in a squeeze tube or a pump, as it protects the product inside from air and contamination from handling, as is what seems to be the case in skin care products that come in a screw top jar. It is also fragrance free and doesn't block pores, which is also great for my sensitive skin. This serum has a very healthy dose of L-ascorbic acid, which apparently is the purest form of Vitamin C. This is a brilliant antioxidant as well. Not to mention, it also has Hyaluronic Acid, which is renowned for its moisture retentive properties in locking in the moisture to your skin and making it supple and soft. I usually love Cerave products for what ingredients are included in them as much as the ingredients left out. But this serum just has too much dimethicone in it for my preferences and pills under my SPF. I’ll use up the tube but will not repurchase. In my ongoing search to replace my preferred (and very expensive) vitamin c serums (Sunday Riley CEO, Drunk Elephant C-Firma), I picked this up from HEB. The 10% vitamin c is ascorbic acid, one of my preferred vit c dosages, and it is packed with ceramides just like other Cerave products. The packaging is just right: the opaque aluminum tube protects the light-sensitive ingredients and ensures you can actually use up everything in the tube – you can roll it up just like a toothpaste tube – and the tip of the tube is sealed from air until you break the seal. It has no scent and spreads nicely on the skin, not leaving any sticky residue or shine on the face. This is probably due to the fact that dimethicone is high on the ingredient list. Unfortunately, the large amount of dimethicone just doesn’t sit well on my skin, especially under SPF and makeup. It causes rolling/pilling on my face that looks like I rolled around in a lint trap. Not cute! I gave three stars for quality vit c/ceramide ingredients and effective and smart packaging. But it is a no-go for me and my skincare routine.shelby.h

My review of the Cerave skin renewing vitamin C serum: I have some conflicted feelings on this product. The serum itself yielded really good results; I felt my naturally uneven skintone with small, faint areas of skin discoloration physically looks better after consistent use. After applying for two weeks after washing my face, I felt my skin's uneveness had been largely resolved! I also had some dry patches and inflamed skin on the side of my mouth, as well as some scarring from recent hormonal pimples, and this cleared everything up. What I did not love is the rather small amount of product you receive and the not very aesthetically pleasing packaging, compared to my skinceuticals or glossier serums at least. It was difficult to figure out how to get the product out of the tube, as there's an oddly pointed cap covering a skinny tip of the tube that I ASSUME needed to be cut. I had to cut the tip off the tube to get the product to be released but would really have appreciated if the packaging could have mentioned ANYWHERE that you'll need to cut the tube. Like I said, packaging and presentation is a little bit off but a very good product.djb

I've been plagued by sensitive/reactive/difficult skin for most of my adult life and received diagnoses that range from acne through peri-oral dermatitis to, most recently, rosacea. Even dermtologists don't seem to be sure what the problem is. Al I can definitely say is that azealic acid is great at calming things down. It's not miraculous: it has taken more than six months' of usage for me to see a marked improvement but, in my opinion, it works to reduce inflammation, smooth texture and even pigmentation. I apply it (generously) only at night because it is just one layer too many during the daytime, under sun protection cream and foundation. It may have a quicker effect for those who use for an entire 24 hours. For reference, I can't tolerate any form I've so far tried of retinolid but the azealic acid has never irritated my skin.. I use it in combination with niacinimide on spot-prone areas. A month agao I stopped taking the long term antibiotic I was prescribed for its anti-inflammatory rather than anti-microbial effect because it never worked very consistently or well on its own, and because I was worried about the side effects. The positive results from the azaelic acid have given me the confidence to bin the pills and – so far – my face is doing fine.Jeremiad

Did this help to lighten a new dark patch I've noticed on my upper cheek, or existing acne marks? Unfortunately it didn't. And that's unusual because I usually respond very well to Arbutin, even at 1% or less, yet for some reason not with The Ordinary's 2% formula. I did notice the tiniest bit of smoothness in my skin texture (the Lactic acid maybe) and my skin did feel lightly hydrated using just a few drops of this (possibly the Sodium Hyaluronate content) twice a day. But then I started to notice mild acne and clogged pores appearing on my chin and forehead after a weeks' use, and had to stop applying it to my face. I was hopeful that taking it down to just one application per day might lessen the issue but it didn't. Not one to waste something, I've been applying a couple of drops every night before sleep on my slightly dark, patchy underarms, after washing-off the days' anti-perspirant. I've been doing this for the last 3 and a half weeks but not seen any difference so far. To be fair I've yet to come across a product that does lighten them, even with multiple brightening ingredients in, not just Arbutin, so I can't say I'm exactly surprised. As a preface, I'm trying to cut out actives from my routine that are for proactive prevention, and am substituting those for actives that address problems I currently have with my skin as my skin is sensitive. I bought this and used it every day for a week when I started breaking out on my forehead, chin, and cheeks. Most of my acne is on my cheeks, but breaking out on my forehead and chin was new so I knew it was because of this product. I really want to love this since I know azelaic acid is good for both active acne and acne scars. I followed the instructions on the box and applied this after serums and before moisturizers. The only other active I use at the moment is niacinamide (and propolis, not sure if that counts as an active ingredient), see my routine below for more details. Any tips or suggestions from fellow acne-prone/sensitive skin people would be greatly appreciated! I have tried several different vitamin C serums, and Obagi is really different from the other options out there. I have been using the Obagi 15% for about 6-7 months now. First, I can tell you the color is very, very pale yellow tinged. It also has a very distinct hint of orange scent. What makes it really different, is that I can actually feel it! I mix about 3 drops with 3-4 drops niacinamide serum and about 4 drops hyaluronic acid and squalane morning and night. After applying to clean skin, I notice a very light tingling sensation a few minutes later – nothing dramatic, just a very faint feel. But – that tells me it is doing it's job! My skin tone is very even and fresh looking, and I get compliments all the time. My friends have all raided my bathroom closet to see what I use, and they have all started the same routine!Felecia R

The first time I used it, it seemed to instantly smooth my complexion and even the texture. After three days, my skin looked brighter overall and was extremely soft. After just over a week, my face was no longer oily and my dry patches (all but one area) disappeared. I have used this consistently. The only time I ever felt a tingle was when I used it after the Microdermabrasion Mask. After having using it for over a month already, I hoped I would have seen at least a small difference, especially since I noticed the other changes so quickly. Other things to note: The consistency is much thinner than any other serum I have tried, almost watery. It runs right through my fingers if I'm not careful. This is by far the best Vitamin C product I've ever used. My dull skin has become so radiant, bright, and so healthy looking. I use this every day before moisturizer and after cleansing. Nice fresh scent and the texture and consistency is very nice. It dries down beautifully on the skin with no residue or oily feeling. In just 1 week my skin looks and feels totally revitalized, soft, smooth, and with a healthy glow perfect for the warmer months. I can't wait to see what it looks like in a month!
