20 Best Shampoo And Conditioner For 2A Hair (Jan 2023 Update)

I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I will repeat purchase, as this shampoo does strengthen & restore my hair due effective natural components: Jamaican Black Castor oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter & Peppermint. It's sulfate-free, eligible for colored hair, by the way. The scent is really extremely pleasant like parfume for hair. My man loves the aroma & makes compliments. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. But I am completely OK with it, as benefits prevail. After use my hair has beautiful silky shine & it becomes healthier. It has helped me to resolve hair loss as well. I recommend this shampoo because of effective natural components & it really worked for my hair. This is my 2nd bottle & will buy more, but in large volume 384 ml! I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. This product is in my everyday haircare routine. It's an all natural ingredient shampoo and doesn't contain sulfates or silicones. This shampoo is also color-safe friendly. The shampoo itself works well for stripping product buildup, cleansing the scalp, and leaving your hair feeling clean. It lathers really well into hair. The only semi catch is that it washes and rinses better with cold water over warm or hot. The smell is amazing, I wish it was a little more potent, but if your pair this shampoo with it's conditioner in crime (as I do) the smell balances out. As should be said this product alone, like I mentioned works well, but it works best with the paired conditioner. But overall this shampoo has definitely made a good impression on my hair I hope it does the same for you:)olivia.s

The best all-around drugstore conditioner, hands down! I found out about this when I was exploring the curly girl method for my waist-length, 2A/2B waves, and this product was consistently recommended. I couldn't believe it was so affordable too! I have been using the Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo for a month now. I really like the coconut scent, it lathers really well and I was very pleased that a little goes a long way as I have very long and thick hair. I wash my hair every 3rd day, but I wet my hair and condition it every day. I have been using the Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioner the 2nd day. I always use leave in conditioner but that day I had to use double the amount of what I normally use. Otherwise my hair felt & looked dry & frizzy. The product definitely did help with detangling my hair, not totally, but to a great enough degree where I was pleased. I didn’t notice any improvement in shine though. I was hoping to experience much more of an overall difference from all the various products I have used in the past. No huge noticeable difference, and more expensive than what I currently use. I love that Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo contain no silicones, parabens, no phathalates, no petrolatum & no mineral oil. Thankful to have found and purchased this amazing shampoo. My desire to nourish and manage my natural 4C porosity hair came with a challenge. However, I remembered, that I purchased this shampoo and matching hair masque. However, for the information on Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, the page is unavailable. My budget is tight at the moment, but I usually save up for what I need. I need the Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque. Therefore, to increase the benefits to my damaged hair I gathered a portion of the Curl and Shine Hair Masque and combined it with a hint of tea tree oil, fresh rosemary water, rose water, and peppermint oil. Leaving in my hair for 30 minutes. My hair texture is incredibly moist. So I really enjoyed using the product on both my baby girl and my own hair. Because we have very very different hair types, I noticed some important things. She has a healthy head of very fine, very varied coil curls. The shampoo worked great on very wet hair, it lathered well for a clarifying shampoo without turning her hair into dry grass. I rinsed twice to make sure the water ran well and clear. The conditioner was light and moisturizing, as promoted. I took the time to work it into all strands while damp to slightly wet with a curly hair wet brush. Afterward rinsing the conditioner lightly, I put in the styling cream. Here I realized I'd put in way too much, but the effect was still very good. Her curls were less prone to tangling, moisturized and made beautiful defined coils. My hair is fine but wavy, not curly. However my hair is super dry. I like using heavily moisturizing products from time to time to feed my hair. The products were too heavy for fine straighter hair, but it really moisturized heavily. My hair has a healthy strong feel and a beautiful glisten that it has after a moisturizing hair mask. Overall, on straighter finer hair, I'd say use the conditioner thoroughly but rinse very well and easy on the styling cream. I didn't experience any waxiness anywhere.Thali22

It's a bit pricey but trust me its worth it. I was tired of my hair feeling gross, dry on the ends and oily at the roots. I threw away all my other garbage shampoos and I finally found the shampoo of all shampoos. Def sticking with this one a little lathers up a bunch. I can go 2-3 days without looking like an oily mess. And it makes my hair smell soo good. Def worth the money if youre tired of your hair having build up.emily p.

So, I hesitated about writing this review because I don’t like to complain, and I did love this product when I first purchased it. My hair was soft, smelled great, and I even had people commenting on the health & shine it had. I loved this product so much I stocked up on it.

About a year into using this shampoo and conditioner duo along with the leave in treatment I noticed an unusual amount of hair fall. I thought nothing of it assuming it was my hair screaming at me for the heat/hair dye ect. However, I noticed it more and more and after 6 months of extreme shedding I decided I should look into what was going on. First i started taking supplements (Womens vitamins and biotin) assuming it was my dreadful diet to blame. No change. I put a shower head filter in to filter my shower water. No change. Then I went cold turkey on heat styling, and stopped using hair dye. Nothing seemed to help. I even bought different ‘it’s a 10’ products to try to “strengthen” my hair. I attempted to not wash my hair but once a week… still incredible amounts of fall out. I was lost. Finally I changed shampoo. I started noticing in the shower less and less fall out, soon brushing my hair produced less wads of hair to clean from my brush. It seems I have found the culprit. I have spent 6 months trying to identify what I was doing wrong, and all signs point to “it’s a 10”.

I’m posting this not out of anger, or spite, but because everywhere I looked I saw “how great” this product is …. I even asked my hair dresser what she recommended for hair fall and she asked what I use and I told her “it’s a 10” and she raves about how great the product is.

my hair is incredibly thin and I have little baby regrowth. I don’t want someone else to go through what I did and change shampoo when it’s too late. So if u r using it’s a 10 and noticing a lot of fall out… maybe it just doesn’t work for us?

I really like this shampoo and conditioner. It's a shame so many people left 1 star reviews because it just didn't work for them. It would be different if there was something wrong with customer service or the product itself. However, with skin care, nail care, and hair care so much of whether or not it'll work for you is left biology and body chemistry and you have to try different products to find the one that works with yours. I really like using these products and how my hair feels after using them. I ordered the whole set during the flash sale and when I received the products the shampoo, conditioning spray, and the conditioner weren't closed properly so most of the product was in the bottom of the box. I sent an email about the issue but I received another email for a link that doesn't work to open a ticket. No one has reached out to me and I have been sent the same link twice. My previous order the pumps on the bottles were broken. I just chalked that up to shipping but when the products are sent to you already opened, that's a whole other issue.Marcia W.

This is one of my top five shampoos for people who have a four c hair texture! The smell is amazing. It definitely gives off hints of pomegranate and honey which is the perfect snow combination. It provides a thick rich and full leather without having to use 17 pumps of shampoo. I Projects like that mielle products are parabens and sulfates paraffins and mineral oil all free. I will be the first to say that being that I have for sea hair this is not a detangling product. Moisturizing absolutely. Cleaning your hair it also removes all the impurities. I was a little disappointed when I received my black Friday package from Mielle. I have ordered before and have been pleased but this time it was like everything was thrown in a box and shipped. The box was so beat up its like the products could have came out and almost would have im certain had it been tossed around any more and I know that part wasn't so much their fault but I figured it would have been put into another box to ship to prevent that problem. The products had no confetti at least to soften how its thrown around everything was so greasy i thought for sure a product or 3 were leaking and also nothing was wrapped at least in bubble wrap considering how it was boxed up. I was searching for a new go to shampoo and conditioner, something for my fine but thick, damaged and frizzes easily hair (its humid in the south), as I'm growing it out since I had to do a big chop. I did alot of searching online reading reviews on all products, that was my make or break on finally making a purchase. WTBS I'm super happy with this product and have been using it for over a month before even writing a review. The shampoo is so fragrant, it WOW'd me, it doesn't smell that strong out the bottle, I love it, but if you are sensitive to strong scents you might not like it, but after using over a week or so, you get used to its power and enjoy it alot. Lathers well, my hair feels super clean and soft, mega sleek is exactly what you get with this combination. When blow drying you can still smell the luxurious smell, faintly not over powering but where you know your hair smells SO GOOD! My frizz and fly aways are definitely helped by this product. I normally straighten my hair almost daily, but since my big chop and I'm growing out my natural hair, I want it super healthy and the least amount damaged as possible, so right now no flat iron only blow drying and it looks very good! I haven't had a haircut in over 22 weeks so I can only imagine how it would look straightened with the help of this Mega Sleek. This will be my shampoo and conditioner for a long time. The conditioner is nice and slimey (if you have hair like mine that will tangle horribly and you need a slimey conditioner just to be able to comb it after.. my hair is shoulder length now, but used to be LONG, my hair acts no different with a different length), its very conditioning and works very well!!! I have zero complaints on both these products and do recommend! Only warning is the scent if you are sensitive, you can always try and return, but give it a fair chance. I honestly love this stuff and so glad I found the right product so I can stick with something that makes me and my hair happy. FINALLY!! P.S. I really love that this product truly makes my fizzy, wavy hair less frizzy and sleek! I come out of the shower with shiny hair and it seems to stay much more tame than with standard shampoos!! Great size, scent is ok. ive used it twice now and the quality is not the best. It does cleanse the scalp. But it made my hair very dry and brittle afterwards. Even with the hydrating conditioner. if you have a sensitive scalp i would not recommend this. Very harsh and irritating but, ive noticed that i Dont feel as much of the build up products anymore. I used this product about a year ago. I saw it online and couldn’t resist the deal. 25 ounces of sulfate free, silicone free shampoo for about $8! What a steal! Well, the only thing that was truly stolen was my $8 and I want it back. Lol! This stuff smelled so bad. It was like a strong, sickly sweet, fake coconut smell. I thought maybe it just smelled that putrid in the bottle so I decided to wash give it a try. That smell got even stronger as I washed my hair! It was so gross that I didn’t wait to see what the finished results would look like. I wound up immediately just washing it out. This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. I don’t need a huge amount of it to get my hair untangled, and when I do brush through it I barely have any tangles at all. It’s also very gentle on my hair and the smell is light and not overpowering. So impressed with this product and very glad to have found it. Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. my daughter recommended this shampoo along with the conditioner. I was surprisingly disappointed. I of course thought right away that it would be effective based on the cost. Not at all, for starters I felt it made my hair more tangled and hard to manage which concerned me cause I already have course hair and figured how am I going to get out of this tangled mess. The conditioner didn't even help a bit and need I mention that when I tried to style my hair it was never ending. Literally the worst expensive shampoo I have ever used. It doesn’t lather that well, and it makes my hair feel tangled, heavy, and sticky after rinsing it out. I was completely surprised that this didn't do for me what all the reviews I read said it would. I understand everyone's hair is different but I read so many reviews raving about this that I had no doubt that this was going to be the best shampoo I'd ever tried. Boy was I wrong… The first issue I had with this was that it didn't latter do a degree that I am used to. I thought I was going to be able to work around this but without the latter I really didn't feel as though it was cleaning my hair. I started with one pump but that really only washed the top of my head- barely. Another pump for my hair (mid back length, curly) which lathered even less on the strands then my scalp. Using two pumps – sometimes three- really doesn't bode well for the life of the product. With that said problem two arose; this barely lasted a month and a half using it every other day. At 24$ a bottle it really isn't realistic for me to keep purchasing when I was having no results and basically dumping it down the drain. Results were really nonexistent, my hair was still frizzy and ultimately more dry than before I started using it. There was no real change in texture in the month I used it. There was no problem for me with the smell like some people had, it just smelled like salon shampoo. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing this again, however I wouldn't tell people to stay away as so many reviewers said that it did wonders for them so I imagine I'm just an off case. If the world ever ran out of oil and we were faced with a National Oil Crisis.. FEAR NOT! My head could support the world and all its oil needs. Like for real- for real, I could wash in the morning and by lunch look like I was on day 3 of “no ones gonna know” dry pooing. I wanted a clarifying shampoo in my hair routine due to having oily hair and using dry shampoo sometimes as well! I was stuck between OUAI and this Paul Mitchell one. $30 vs $15. I picked up the Paul Mitchell one from Ulta to give it a try. I have been using it for 6 months and I really like the feel of it! Definitely give it a try in between your normal shampoo! This is a great shampoo for people like myself with straight, fine hair but a lot of it. I can actually run my fingers through my hair while washing without any tangling or breakage! I have seen a noticeable reduction in the amount of frizz in my hair after I air-dry it, and it is more manageable to style. It does not seem to weigh my hair down, dry it out, or make it greasy at all, and I've noticed a reduction in breakage and fallout since I began using it. I like that it's color-safe as well; I go to the salon every 6-8 weeks to get my hair colored a dark brunette to add vibrancy to my natural color, and this has not stripped or faded my color at all. I’ll start off by saying the shampoo smells like fresh wall paint. Not overly powerful scent though. It is a nice off white color. It easily spreads on your hair, but I don’t feel it gets it sudsy. The conditioner on the other end, smells like hair dye, from a box you an buy at the store. It’s a creamy white color, and I feel you need a ton to lather your hair up. A positive note, is the longer I left the conditioner in my hair, to condition, the comb glided right through it. No snarls, or knots. My hair didn’t smell terrible when I got out. Just not a strong scent. What I don’t like, is, I don’t wash my hair everyday. Either every other day or every two days. By the second day, my hair feels like straw. I’ve always washed my hair like that and certain shampoos and conditioners, don’t do that. My hair feels dry and dead from using this stuff. The thickening shampoo adds vitality to fine, flat hair while nourishing and strengthening from root to tip. Just apply at mid-length and work through to roots and ends of your hair. This shampoo smells wonderful! It produces lots of lather and rinses out nicely. The thickening conditioner will prolong vitality and enhance shine. Apply at mid-length of hair and work through to roots and ends. This conditioner smells wonderful as well. May I add that this conditioner is thick. Not like the usual watery thin conditioners. To my amazement when I rinsed this conditioner out of my hair, I immediately noticed that my hair felt heavier and thicker. My hair also smelled great. At this moment, I was sold on this product. I've tried many conditioners for my dry, curly hair that tick the boxes of having natural ingredients and are without silicones. This conditioner is the clear winner! I’ve tried a few of the Giovanni shampoo and conditioners and this one is my favourite! I love the purple packaging and the scent is divine, a sweet coconut smell, it’s actually one of those shampoos that you can smell after the hair has dried and even after sleeping on it (this is uncommon with more natural shampoo/conditioners). It softens the hair and I’m currently using it with the scalp massager so it doesn’t get tangled at all when I wash it and the cleanliness lasts for longer. I find this one the most moisturising and I use it for my hair that gets oily quick, this shampoo means I can go an extra day without washing if I need when I usually wash every 1-2 days. (Note the common misconception, oily hair occurs when the scalp is dry and it releases sebum to prevent dryness) Since using this shampoo my hair has felt cleaner, less oily, more hydrated and it smells divine!!! I am so glad to find my favorite hair conditioner on iherb website. It is fantastic for a sensitive scalp and goes a long way for thicker/dryer hair. Purchased this shampoo on impulse as my usual shampoo was nearly finished. Normally I read the reviews but on this occasion I didn’t. I wish I had now. Easy to use from the tube, so handy for the shower but the first thing that struck me was it didn’t have a particularly pleasant scent! It was difficult to lather and seemed to tangle my hair. I washed it twice, which I don’t usually need to, nor do I need to use conditioner, and my hair seemed to tangle even more and felt rough! A light towel dry and I attempted to use a wide toothed comb, my usual, and my hair was so tatty! My hair dry, now looks more wavy than curly. Such a waste of money, I paid £8 for it in TescoJudith P.

Love these products! 97% natural indgredients and not tested on animals which is so important to me. The Moisture Boost shampoo and conditioner gave my dry, bleached, color treated hair so much volume. When I used the curl primer I got even more volume and my hair never felt dry. It is definitely salon quality vegan friendly and available at Walmart. They won over 50 awards so I thought I'd try it.yvernaus

Bought this shampoo/conditioner because I love the curl cream that this brand has. I have extremely thick 2C-3A hair. This conditioner dried my hair out to the point that I would get out of the shower and it would take me 30+ minutes to detangle my hair before styling it. My hair felt like hay in and out of the shower. My hair would be in huge clumps and I was also losing huge clumps of hair. I switched back to my old hair products and after just one use my hair was immediately better. I do NOT recommend for anyone who genuinely cares about their hair's health. I bought this because it was significantly cheaper than my old products and I loved the curl cream, but it's worth it to splurge on the good products rather than damaging your hair with this. I won't be using any of these products anymore. Also, it smells a bit like flea shampoo. Not even worth one star.Calahb

I have naturally curly unruly coloured treated for decades hair that I use hairdryer & straighteners on. I further abuse my hair by swimming outdoors a lot over tge summer in the sunshine. I was a big Aveda Smooth Infusion fan until I finally listened to my Tony & Guy hairdresser & started using these Olaplex products to repair my badly treated hair & maintain the colour. I am now an Olaplex convert. My hair condition instantly improved after one wash, it smooths my hair better than Aveda Smooth Infusion. It is more concentrated that the Aveda Smooth Infusion so a 250ml bottle of Olaplex lasts much, much longer than the Aveda Smooth Infusion. I have just returned from a week swimming for hours everyday in Greece. Chlorine, sunshine, colour treated unruly hair, hairdryer & straighteners everynight = hair abuse I know. I used Olaplex everynight. I returned with my hair in good condition, the colours maintained & I brought most of the 250ml bottles back of each product. By comparison on the same holiday the year before I had used up most of the Aveda Smooth Infusion 250 ml bottles. I AM NOW FULLY CONVERTED TO OLAPLEX.Blazing S.

I bought this for my wife and she use this with the No 0, No 3, and the No 5. I must say the combo of these together is amazing. Her hair was pretty much destroyed frome excessive styling, blow drying and box dyes. We could totally tell a difference after just one use of these products together. Her hair looks healthier, has more shine and manageability, doesn't look as damaged, she isn't yanking out knots when she wakes up and brushes her hair plus it just feels so soft and looks smooth not frizzy. It seems like the texture, strength, and even the way her hair is laying is totally changing. The smells not over powering which is something we both love because sometimes hair fragrances clash with perfumes but not Olaplex it's perfectly balanced. The bottles aren't the biggest which was kind of a let down but you don't need near as much as other shampoos so it seems like it will last just as long as a big bottle of regular shampoo. It lathers and rinses out amazingly! The pure magic that comes out of those bottles can't be beat and it's so worth it! The duo of the conditioner, shampoo and other products used together can't be matched or beat! Her hair and her self imaging is healing and getting better after each use. Thank you Olaplex for giving my wife control of her hair and confidence back. We can't wait to see what happens after extended use. She's only been using it for around a week or so and the changes are insane. Olaplex is definitely the king of hair care products and like most mvp's it's a game changer.Stephen K.

I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5. Since my hair is quite fine and thin I use the bond building treatment and hair perfecter 1-2 times a week for the past month. Honestly I am stunned at the results. Since it’s not a permanent fix but a treatment, you do have to continue using it. I did read somewhere that there’s no way for it to permanently fix your already damaged hair but it can definitely treat it while the damage grows out. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, there’s no apparent residue, and it felt healthier and looked healthier after only the first try and has consistently improved since. I’ve tried so many products that just seem to sit on top of my hair and reflect light instead of actually improving anything texturally. I was also stunned at the quality of the product, not just in effect but a little really does go a long way in each one of my products. It smells and feels amazing. I could clearly go on. I’m just so pleasantly stunned! I had read some very negative reviews and was prepared to just take a chance and I’m thrilled and impressed with the results. It’s made me finally feel like I can get my hair back to something I love again. I've been using this shampoo and conditioner for just over a year now. Not really realizing my hair was getting thinner and dryer each time I washed and conditioned it. Having horrible split ends constantly even after cutting them. Months later realizing my hair was in fact very thin. In panic I tried different things to help my hair grow back, not knowing it was my shampoo and conditioner causing the hair thinning. I changed my diet, chopped my hair to see if that would help with split ends and dryness but they would Immediately come back. I never processed my hair and completely stopped using heat. I never bush my hair until it's almost dry and don't go to bed with wet hair. I use a silk pillow case. Trying everything to protect my hair and after doing some research, I found out after using this product over a year that the shampoo and conditioner itself was the problem. I am now working with some natural remedies to help restore my hair. I'm having many baby hairs starting to grow back. No much bushes full of hair and no more clogged drains.Payton S

So I'm using this along with the matching conditoner and I'm pretty happy with the set so far. Hair Type: Virgin Fine strands, but a lot Wavy blend of 2A-2C Bra strap length Low/Normal porosity? I have traits from both low/high, so I’m not sure anymore. Hair Concerns: Dry/itchy/oily scalp w/dry ends – fun stuff lol Frizz – Oh, the frizz! Hates coconut oil and protein – my hair gets very brittle and destroyed Since I have lower porosity hair, it takes forreeevverrr to fully wet it. I usually spend the first few minutes massaging my head/roots under the water to get it saturated. I have to shampoo twice in order to actually get a decent lather and feel like my scalp is getting clean. Sometimes I just use the green NYMN shampoo that I have as the first shampoo, but really quick cause that one tends to dry out my scalp. So I pretty much just distrubute the shampoo through my roots enough to help wet my hair more and then use the PM shampoo and really massage my scalp and make sure everything is nice and clean. I use about a nickle/quarter sized glob and that seems to be enough as long as I've already done the first quick shampoo. The smell is nice and pleasant and like the conditioner, I have no complaints. It lathers up really nicely, but rinsing out it does feel a little squeaky clean, but I guess that's kind of normal with shampoos (especially if it has sulfates). I only use this shampoo like once a month (in rotation with other products I use that are sulfate-free), so I don't really notice anything negative. My scalp doesn't get itchy, but it doesn't completly cure it. I still get kind of itchy a day after it's been washed, but I'm not sure what the cause of that is from. Possibly just being dry? It doesn't really help my frizz either but doesn't make it terribly worse like some shampoos have done. Overall, I really like using this duo when I want a good cleaning. I kept reading about this duo on Reddit for being the more moisturizing products from the Paul Mitchell line. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed! I use this in my rotation of two other duos, so I probably use this like once a month and only have my experience from the occasional use and not consistent back-to-back. When applying throughout my hair I could already feel how thick and mositurizing it was! I squish to condish and use a wide-tooth comb to distribute the conditioner throughout my hair and let it sit for about 2-5 minutes before rinsing it completely out. It's not a magical aftermath for my hair and I still have frizz, BUT I was actually surprised at how soft my hair felt when it dried. The first time I used the duo I couldn't stop touching my hair lol. Overall, I like how my hair turns out after washing my hair with the matching shampoo. nothing spectacular. gets the job done and leaves hair squeaky clean. I appreciate that this shampoo does not contain silicone and I like that it has sulfate so that all of the silicone from my products can get washed off. I alternate between this and the mixed chicks co-wash, so I only use this every two weeks for a very thorough wash. I like the scent too, it's very mild but pleasant. It's like pressing the reset button for those of us who use many different products on our curly hair all the time.Veronica

Was a bit too harsh even for my oily scalp. Dried out not only my scalp which then felt itchy throughout the day, but it also dried the ends of my hair. My hair felt/was really brittle and frizzy. It also has a very strong soapy smell (reminded me of a cleaning solution smell tbh) I did not like that at all. If you have sensitive skin and are sensitive to fragrances, I would not suggest this shampoo.Les

I have 2A/2B wavy, medium porosity, thick shoulder length hair. I have been looking for a shampoo that both makes my hair feel clean after a hospital shift, and keeps my waves fluffy and smooth. This shampoo checks all the boxes and more. It smells clean and the smell lasts out of the shower. It does get foamy, which I like, but I do have to use a good amount for both my upper and lower layers. But for this price, I don't mind using a lot of product at once. Make sure to use your fingers to scrub this into your scalp, for the best effect. I wouldn't use this alone, as I can feel it leaves my hair tangled, after it has washed out. Definitely use this with their Leave-In Conditioner, for the best results (I use it as a regular wash-out conditioner as well). I use these two products with their Morning After Foam as well, and get lots of compliments on my big wavy hair 🙂Sophia

OMG! Love love love this product! I have tried multiple leave in conditioners and never saw a difference until I used this!! It has a very beautiful black vanilla aroma that leaves my hair smelling and looking gorgeous! It is perfect on all hair types, I even told my friends to buy it and they all use it on a daily basis! If you need a go to leave in conditioner that will leave your hair silky, healthy, and shiny go buy this asap!sydney.p

For reference I have low porosity thin coarse curly hair. I had really high hopes for this product. After a few uses I realized that this product lead to extreme hair loss for me and product buildup. I couldn’t go a day without washing or having extremely greasy hair which is not normal for me. The whole line tangles hair. Very disappointed but it smells nice.fb

This was the most drying, matting shampoo I've come across in a long time. I wanted to try something different ( cause shampoo is shampoo right?! WRONG) I have a mix of type 3c, 4b and beyond. I have a clarifying shampoo but wanted a moisturizing one to use. This was a mistake. My hair instantly started clumping and matting. I wash my hair weekly and detangle well before I even wet it.. I lost clumps of curls. I fortunately had a small amount of another brand that brought it back a bit , but I'm praying my hair forgives me for this one.CaliCocoa

Based on other reviews, I really wanted to love this product for my thick curly hair..this shampoo/conditioner combo made my scalp very itchy and dry – something I’ve never had issues with before. On top of that by day 2 it was making my hair fall out in CLUMPS. I’m not talking typical “more than a few strands because it was worn up today” either – I mean handfuls each wash. I made myself use it until it was gone to see if it was an adjustment my body needed to make and nothing improved. My hair has significantly thinned out since starting this product, I have an irritated scalp, and my curls saw no benefit from this product..stay away!Kym

This product, as well as other scents/formulas by Maui, is absolutely wonderful. Everyone in my family is now using one of Maui's formulas because it works really well and smells good. I don't know why hair product companies combine shampoo and conditioner because rarely do any of these companies make a decent two in one product. My wife and I both have dry, coarse hair. So, we need nourishing hair care products. It's great when you can get a shampoo and conditioner that does a good job at cleaning and moisturizing hair. However, Suave Professional 2 in 1 Shampoo+Conditioner damages and strips your hair of much needed moisture. I'm not for sure what the company means by calling it "Professional". There isn't anything professional about this product, it's horrible for any hair type, even oily hair. This product does deep clean hair, but it does it a little too well! Effectiveness This product isn't good to use on any hair type. I don't know where they put the conditioner because it's not in this formula. All this product managed to do was dry my hair out, and make it more coarse than it was. I had to do a conditioning treatment on my hair after using this. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even those with excessive oily hair or scalp. Some of Suave's products are pretty good for the low price you pay for them, but this one needs to be redesigned. Suave Professionals Plus 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner is a fair product. Its main upsides include that it is inexpensive, easy to find at most common stores, frequently on sale or has coupons that can be found, and can be used on all types of hair. Its main downside is that with regular use of Suave Professionals Plus 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner you get old conditioner build up after even just a few days to weeks of use. Effectiveness Suave Professionals Plus 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner does get your hair clean and conditioned in a single step. As I listed above, the problem is with conditioner build-up feeling on your hair. This is in particular because with washing my hair I like to scrub and massage my scalp and then with conditioning I like to just condition the ends. Obviously, with a 2 in 1 product that is not possible. Scent Suave Professionals Plus 2 in 1 Shampoo + Conditioner comes in several different scents. I have used a couple of different ones and have not found one with a horrible scent but neither have a found one with a scent that totally wowed me either.patty28

Love this stuff. I used Pantene Smooth shampoo and conditioner for years, then switched to Nexxus when that formula of Pantene became hard to find. The Nexxus did well for a while, but then I started using this on those days when I was too lazy or rushed to use two products, and it is my preferred shampoo/conditioner now. It lathers really well; a little goes a long way. The scent is fine. Not my fave, but good enough. What I LOVE about this stuff though is that it makes my hair super shiny. I color my hair (dark blonde/light brown) and this just makes my hair really shiny and smooth, and look so healthy. While I have always used a conditioner in the past, this 2-in-1 does the trick just fine for me. My hair doesn't feel super conditioned and is a tiny bit harder to comb when wet, but I love the way it looks when I'm done. I'm having more good-hair days using this Suave.carol.c

This was my first time trying this shampoo and I really love it! It smells so nice and the scent stays in your hair, it’s not so strong that it will make you feel sick. It lathers easy and washes hair well! I have oily hair but since being on holiday my hair has dried out and this really helped and it didn’t make my hair oily after the first day! This shampoo is around $6 and is 385ML which I think is kinda expensive but I think this product will give a lot of uses! I picked this shampoo over the others as I was looking for one that was cruelty free and this was all the Walmart had! But I’m really glad I picked this one. Other benefits of this shampoo is that it has no harsh chemicals like silicones which is great! And will really help your hair, I also really liked it was vegan, eco friendly and had great natural ingredients in it like coconut water and all Vera! I will 100% be repurchasing this product wether its off amazon for the next time I’m in America and I really highly recommend this shampoo for all hair types! It’s the best one I’ve tried!!laura.m

This product smells great. I had tried the Maui Moisture Strength Anti-breakage + Agave Hair Mask and loved it. So I bought the shampoo and conditioner when I came across it in the store. My son and I tried the products for 2 weeks. I found the first couple of every other day shampoo/conditions were okay, but then my hair seemed oily-like but yet not oily. Plus, my hair started shedding more. My son complained because the ends of his long hair was drying out.julia.n

I bought this agave line in target because I was looking for a new shampoo. I wasn’t sure about the line but I know that Agave is good for the hair. After the first wash, omg I was so impressed! I am natural and this product made my hair so soft, smooth, and very easy to detangle!!! This will definitely be my staple product for my hair regimen!! I absolutely love love Maui Moisture! I don’t usually do reviews on products but I had to write a review! Please don’t change the ingredients, it’s definitely a good formula.
