my daughter recommended this shampoo along with the conditioner. I was surprisingly disappointed. I of course thought right away that it would be effective based on the cost. Not at all, for starters I felt it made my hair more tangled and hard to manage which concerned me cause I already have course hair and figured how am I going to get out of this tangled mess. The conditioner didn't even help a bit and need I mention that when I tried to style my hair it was never ending. By the time I finished styling and drying my hair, my hair was so dried and brittle and even more course that when I started ugh!!! I learned that cost doesn't mean efficiency at all. Literally the worst expensive shampoo I have ever used. It doesn’t lather that well, and it makes my hair feel tangled, heavy, and sticky after rinsing it out. I was completely surprised that this didn't do for me what all the reviews I read said it would. I understand everyone's hair is different but I read so many reviews raving about this that I had no doubt that this was going to be the best shampoo I'd ever tried. Boy was I wrong… The first issue I had with this was that it didn't latter do a degree that I am used to. I thought I was going to be able to work around this but without the latter I really didn't feel as though it was cleaning my hair. I started with one pump but that really only washed the top of my head- barely. Another pump for my hair (mid back length, curly) which lathered even less on the strands then my scalp. Using two pumps – sometimes three- really doesn't bode well for the life of the product. With that said problem two arose; this barely lasted a month and a half using it every other day. At 24$ a bottle it really isn't realistic for me to keep purchasing when I was having no results and basically dumping it down the drain. Results were really nonexistent, my hair was still frizzy and ultimately more dry than before I started using it. There was no real change in texture in the month I used it. There was no problem for me with the smell like some people had, it just smelled like salon shampoo. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing this again, however I wouldn't tell people to stay away as so many reviewers said that it did wonders for them so I imagine I'm just an off case. (As a disclaimer I did use this with the It's a 10 conditioner so my problems weren't conditioner based.)mariah.h

I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. It's sulfate-free, eligible for colored hair, by the way. The scent is really extremely pleasant like parfume for hair. My man loves the aroma & makes compliments. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! I've been using this shampoo and conditioner for just over a year now. Not really realizing my hair was getting thinner and dryer each time I washed and conditioned it. Having horrible split ends constantly even after cutting them. Months later realizing my hair was in fact very thin. In panic I tried different things to help my hair grow back, not knowing it was my shampoo and conditioner causing the hair thinning. I changed my diet, chopped my hair to see if that would help with split ends and dryness but they would Immediately come back. I never processed my hair and completely stopped using heat. I never bush my hair until it's almost dry and don't go to bed with wet hair. I use a silk pillow case. Trying everything to protect my hair and after doing some research, I found out after using this product over a year that the shampoo and conditioner itself was the problem. So I'm using this along with the matching conditoner and I'm pretty happy with the set so far. Hair Type: Virgin Fine strands, but a lot Wavy blend of 2A-2C Bra strap length Low/Normal porosity? Hates coconut oil and protein – my hair gets very brittle and destroyed Since I have lower porosity hair, it takes forreeevverrr to fully wet it. I usually spend the first few minutes massaging my head/roots under the water to get it saturated. I have to shampoo twice in order to actually get a decent lather and feel like my scalp is getting clean. Sometimes I just use the green NYMN shampoo that I have as the first shampoo, but really quick cause that one tends to dry out my scalp. So I pretty much just distrubute the shampoo through my roots enough to help wet my hair more and then use the PM shampoo and really massage my scalp and make sure everything is nice and clean. I use about a nickle/quarter sized glob and that seems to be enough as long as I've already done the first quick shampoo. The smell is nice and pleasant and like the conditioner, I have no complaints. It lathers up really nicely, but rinsing out it does feel a little squeaky clean, but I guess that's kind of normal with shampoos (especially if it has sulfates). I only use this shampoo like once a month (in rotation with other products I use that are sulfate-free), so I don't really notice anything negative. My scalp doesn't get itchy, but it doesn't completly cure it. I still get kind of itchy a day after it's been washed, but I'm not sure what the cause of that is from. Possibly just being dry? It doesn't really help my frizz either but doesn't make it terribly worse like some shampoos have done. Overall, I really like using this duo when I want a good cleaning. I use this in my rotation of two other duos, so I probably use this like once a month and only have my experience from the occasional use and not consistent back-to-back. It's not a magical aftermath for my hair and I still have frizz, BUT I was actually surprised at how soft my hair felt when it dried. I really like using these products and how my hair feels after using them. I ordered the whole set during the flash sale and when I received the products the shampoo, conditioning spray, and the conditioner weren't closed properly so most of the product was in the bottom of the box. I sent an email about the issue but I received another email for a link that doesn't work to open a ticket. No one has reached out to me and I have been sent the same link twice. This is one of my top five shampoos for people who have a four c hair texture! The smell is amazing. It definitely gives off hints of pomegranate and honey which is the perfect snow combination. It provides a thick rich and full leather without having to use 17 pumps of shampoo. I Projects like that mielle products are parabens and sulfates paraffins and mineral oil all free. I will be the first to say that being that I have for sea hair this is not a detangling product. Moisturizing absolutely. Cleaning your hair it also removes all the impurities. I was a little disappointed when I received my black Friday package from Mielle. I have ordered before and have been pleased but this time it was like everything was thrown in a box and shipped. The box was so beat up its like the products could have came out and almost would have im certain had it been tossed around any more and I know that part wasn't so much their fault but I figured it would have been put into another box to ship to prevent that problem. The products had no confetti at least to soften how its thrown around everything was so greasy i thought for sure a product or 3 were leaking and also nothing was wrapped at least in bubble wrap considering how it was boxed up. This is a weird one. It's a sulfate shampoo without any of the "harsh" sulfates people associate with them. The result is a really satisfying, fine-grained lather that cleans extremely well but feels very different from SLS shampoo. This is not a super gentle or hypoallergenic shampoo. But it strikes a nice balance between conventional SLS/SLES formulations and purely cocamidopropyl betaine formulations. So it's well within the comfort zone for just about anyone. This one is different from the main Paul Mitchell awapuhi shampoos, and worth a try if you like other formule with similar surfactants. The only negatives I really have to say are that cocomidopropyl betaine is sensitizing and irritating for a lot of people, there's a bit of controversy around it. Also, if I use this shampoo without clarifying for an extended period my hair gets weirdly light and fluffy. I suspect this is due to this product either not cleansing out certain things or depositing them, making my hair repel itself on an ionic level. May be solved with certain products or blow drying, havent really found the solution there.Bacchante
I have long baby fine wavy color treated hair that became wiry/frizzy after it began growing salt/pepper. It's naturally oily, and I believe I have sebhorriec dermatitis (flakey & itchy particularly around the ears). Most shampoos that treat the dermatitis cause eve more oil production. I have tried everything without relief until this. Not only did it stop the itch and over production or skin cells/dermatitis but it controls the frizz without leaving it oily. Because of the cost & add some of PM's regular awapuhi shampoo to it on alternate days. I condition afterward with Not Your Mother's Way to Grow & then use a Wet Brush to brush through it easily, and then just let it air dry. At 55 I have the hair I dreamed of in my 20's. Cannot understand these great reviews! This Blue Malva shampoo and conditioner is simply awful. By far the worst I’ve used. The price point is ridiculous for the lack of result. Not only does it do NOTHING for my highlighted natural blonde hair, it actually actively makes the colour worse! After first use my highlights were dull and hair was really dry. Even when I piled the conditioner on I couldn’t get my brush though it. I should clarify that my hair has always been manageable and neither dry nor greasy, just luckily have shiny and soft hair so I was really shocked that a product had actually given me problems! I tried to keep using it because you can (ridiculously enough) only buy the huge bottles (what a scam), but I had to give it away to a friend because it was making my hair so lustreless. I have very sensitive skin and after not wanting to pay $50 plus for a giant jug of color depositing shampoo, I looked everywhere where for something similar. In the end, I decided not having my hair fall out using something harsher was not ideal and I bought this. My hair changed drastically in a week. It's healthier than it's ever been. My curls hold overnight which is just weird and my hair feels full and somehow also light. I highlighted it a few weeks ago. I'm not sure it's the best at canceling brass, but it's worth it. I have naturally curly unruly coloured treated for decades hair that I use hairdryer & straighteners on. I further abuse my hair by swimming outdoors a lot over tge summer in the sunshine. I was a big Aveda Smooth Infusion fan until I finally listened to my Tony & Guy hairdresser & started using these Olaplex products to repair my badly treated hair & maintain the colour. I am now an Olaplex convert. My hair condition instantly improved after one wash, it smooths my hair better than Aveda Smooth Infusion. It is more concentrated that the Aveda Smooth Infusion so a 250ml bottle of Olaplex lasts much, much longer than the Aveda Smooth Infusion. I have just returned from a week swimming for hours everyday in Greece. Chlorine, sunshine, colour treated unruly hair, hairdryer & straighteners everynight = hair abuse I know. I bought this for my wife and she use this with the No 0, No 3, and the No 5. I must say the combo of these together is amazing. Her hair was pretty much destroyed frome excessive styling, blow drying and box dyes. We could totally tell a difference after just one use of these products together. Her hair looks healthier, has more shine and manageability, doesn't look as damaged, she isn't yanking out knots when she wakes up and brushes her hair plus it just feels so soft and looks smooth not frizzy. It seems like the texture, strength, and even the way her hair is laying is totally changing. The smells not over powering which is something we both love because sometimes hair fragrances clash with perfumes but not Olaplex it's perfectly balanced. The bottles aren't the biggest which was kind of a let down but you don't need near as much as other shampoos so it seems like it will last just as long as a big bottle of regular shampoo. It lathers and rinses out amazingly! The pure magic that comes out of those bottles can't be beat and it's so worth it! The duo of the conditioner, shampoo and other products used together can't be matched or beat! Her hair and her self imaging is healing and getting better after each use. Thank you Olaplex for giving my wife control of her hair and confidence back. We can't wait to see what happens after extended use. I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5. Since my hair is quite fine and thin I use the bond building treatment and hair perfecter 1-2 times a week for the past month. Honestly I am stunned at the results. Since it’s not a permanent fix but a treatment, you do have to continue using it. I did read somewhere that there’s no way for it to permanently fix your already damaged hair but it can definitely treat it while the damage grows out. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, there’s no apparent residue, and it felt healthier and looked healthier after only the first try and has consistently improved since. I’ve tried so many products that just seem to sit on top of my hair and reflect light instead of actually improving anything texturally. I was also stunned at the quality of the product, not just in effect but a little really does go a long way in each one of my products. It smells and feels amazing. I could clearly go on. I’m just so pleasantly stunned! I had read some very negative reviews and was prepared to just take a chance and I’m thrilled and impressed with the results. I had used this shampoo many years ago and recalled it being a nice, basic product. Really liked that it was cruelty free too! I purchased a full liter bottle in September thinking it was a sound investment. Over time I noticed that I was shedding a lot more hair than usual — my brushes were loaded with loose hairs, my shower drain was clogging, and I was finding fallen strands all over the place. I also noticed that I was getting strange pimples on my scalp that went from being benign tiny bumps to open, bleeding sores overnight. The length of my hair started to feel brittle and excessively fine. I compared photos of my hair from July (when I was using a different shampoo) to December (after using a full liter bottle) and I've lost half my hair density. I'm horrified. I have tried many, many, many salon-quality shampoos. My hair and scalp are very particular and I often struggle to find a product that works and doesn't seem to cause any issues. Paul Mitchell's Shampoo One is an incredible product and a staple in my bathroom. I love Paul Mitchell products and the fact they are cruelty free and don't break the bank like some other hair care brands. However, I felt compelled to share my experience with this shampoo since I didn't see other reviews that did. I used this shampoo for about 6 weeks when I realized that it was causing little pimple-like bumps all over my scalp, and I realized I was also breaking out more around my hairline on my face. On top of that, I was noticing more hair than usual in my brush every time I would brush my hair but I thought maybe it was just me overthinking. Only in the last couple weeks I realized that my hair didn't actually feel as thick as it usually did and that's when I finally realized that I had lost a significant enough amount of hair from this shampoo that it was time to stop before I did further damage. I got highlights in my hair in May and since then, my hair has been the driest it's ever been. I had tried so many different masks, shampoos, conditioners and nothing was working. I would get out of the shower and my hair would be in knots so bad that if I tried to brush it, my brush would get stuck and if I tried to pull, I would loose dozens of strands of hair in one tug. My hair had never been like that and I was panicking. I knew that highlights required maintenance but it wasn't until nexxus that I found a combo that worked for me. I've only washed and conditioned my hair three times with these products and already it's almost as soft as it used to be. I could literally cry, I am so happy. I was hesitant to use this shampoo after smelling it, but the reviews are amazing. My hair wasn't damaged, but I could use the extra healthy moisture from this shampoo. After my first use, I noticed my hair felt dryer and almost crispy. I had just colored my hair the day before, so I figured it was that. I used it again 2 days later and it was worse, I now have split ends. I'm working on growing my hair out after damaging and buzzing it off a year ago, so I do not want to have to trim it. I'm using tons of split end mending products now to fix what this shampoo did. Maybe it's too strong for my hair? Well I usually look at ingredient labels, but after seeing reviews of not only this product, but the whole Nexxus line, I thought it wouldn't matter. Title says it all! I bleach my hair (constantly) because I can never seem to stick to just one color. Now when you do this as often as I do your hair starts to not only look like but feel like a broom too. I used this shampoo and the same brand conditioner. After one use it made my hair less frizzy and brought bounce back to my hair, like it actually moves when I do and it's not stiff! Definitely recommend buying multiples of this since it's on sale at the time of writing this (2 for $12!). Although I don't see what some people are upset about as far as their hair going back to being greasy right away, I think it may just be because everyone's hair is different and requires different types of care.

I have an oily scalp with wavy waist length thick hair (many thin/low porosity strands). Color treated blonde. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. That being said, transitioning into warmer, humid spring/summer weather, I’m really pleased to have found this product. It’ll be great for clean summer hair.jessicaeve1023
For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. Anyway I totally recommend this set and if you're getting greasy hair from this set try the medium or fine hair set. This just probably isn't for your hair type. I have been using the Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo for a month now. I really like the coconut scent, it lathers really well and I was very pleased that a little goes a long way as I have very long and thick hair. I wash my hair every 3rd day, but I wet my hair and condition it every day. I have been using the Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioner the 2nd day. I always use leave in conditioner but that day I had to use double the amount of what I normally use. Otherwise my hair felt & looked dry & frizzy. The product definitely did help with detangling my hair, not totally, but to a great enough degree where I was pleased. I didn’t notice any improvement in shine though. I was hoping to experience much more of an overall difference from all the various products I have used in the past. No huge noticeable difference, and more expensive than what I currently use. I love that Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo contain no silicones, parabens, no phathalates, no petrolatum & no mineral oil. Thankful to have found and purchased this amazing shampoo. My desire to nourish and manage my natural 4C porosity hair came with a challenge. However, I remembered, that I purchased this shampoo and matching hair masque. However, for the information on Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, the page is unavailable. My budget is tight at the moment, but I usually save up for what I need. I need the Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque. Therefore, to increase the benefits to my damaged hair I gathered a portion of the Curl and Shine Hair Masque and combined it with a hint of tea tree oil, fresh rosemary water, rose water, and peppermint oil. So I really enjoyed using the product on both my baby girl and my own hair. Because we have very very different hair types, I noticed some important things. She has a healthy head of very fine, very varied coil curls. The shampoo worked great on very wet hair, it lathered well for a clarifying shampoo without turning her hair into dry grass. I rinsed twice to make sure the water ran well and clear. The conditioner was light and moisturizing, as promoted. I took the time to work it into all strands while damp to slightly wet with a curly hair wet brush. Afterward rinsing the conditioner lightly, I put in the styling cream. Here I realized I'd put in way too much, but the effect was still very good. Her curls were less prone to tangling, moisturized and made beautiful defined coils. My hair is fine but wavy, not curly. However my hair is super dry. I like using heavily moisturizing products from time to time to feed my hair. The products were too heavy for fine straighter hair, but it really moisturized heavily. My hair has a healthy strong feel and a beautiful glisten that it has after a moisturizing hair mask. Overall, on straighter finer hair, I'd say use the conditioner thoroughly but rinse very well and easy on the styling cream. I didn't experience any waxiness anywhere.Thali22

So happy to have gotten this complimentary product from Maui Moisture in exchange for my review! I’m giving this shampoo five stars because it did a great job of cleansing my hair, made it super shiny, and is overall one of the more natural products on the market that’s able to check all these boxes, especially for its price point. I’m in loooove with the soft refreshing peppermint scent, and tingling feeling, especially during the hot summer season it gives you an extra fresh feeling. To note, I’m not sure the Maui system really helped curl definition for me, maybe after some time it helps. As part of the voxbox, I got the Maui leave-in curl smoothie. I found that you kind of need to use the leave-in crème because the shampoo and conditioner set, for me at least, made my hair a bit more on the untamed side. That said, the shampoo itself is amazing so long as you use a product/heat style after. I also like that it’s is free of sulfates, silicone, parabens and is vegan too! Highly recommended and I’ll be buying it again.
I received the Strength Length + Caster Neem Oil Conditioner for free from @Influenster and @mauimoisture for an honest review. The has a medium to thick consistency, and it smells amazing with a slight minty scent. It is kind of hard to describe the scent properly but it is really nice. The application of this conditioner is great, it has great slip which makes detangling a breeze and the product goes a long way. Ironically the conditioner felt more hydrating than the deep conditioner. It's definitely a budget friendly, clean conditioner. I really liked that the deep conditioner is actually silicon free. The only con is that the bottle could be bigger as I have curly hair that requires a fair amount of product to detangle. I purchased both shampoo & conditioner. Before I bought Living Proof 3 purchases ago. I have been on a hunt for a shampoo that would go great with my hair. I wanted to switch off from the drug store products like dove because it was breaking my hair so much & my hair just ultimately got thin wether from bleaching my hair or genetics. Either way we all know that the drug store products can strip your hair. On Living proofs website they have this hair test where it can help you figure out what hair products they have will be good for your hair type. My hair is fine, thin, brittle and super straight. I wanted more fullness in my hair & so far my hair does not have a lot of breakage anymore, I have more hair growth. I wash my hair every 2-3 days (yes, that's still a lot to some of you hahaha) but my hair used to get super oily the 1st day before using Living Proof. Now, I can maintain it within those days & within those days although my hair gets slightly oily it still feels/smells clean. I fell in love with their scent by the way. 8/10 recommend because it is pricey but I think it is very much worth.vb1112
I have thinning hair in some major need of a volume boost. This has definitely helped! The whole experience is such a pleasure. Smells incredible! If you’ve tried any other LP products before, you’ll know what I mean. The shampoo had a nice lather without being too weighty. My hair looked more voluminous and fluffy after use, but not in a major way (see pics). However, it pairs so great with their other volumizing styling products! This is the first time I try a shampoo and conditioner duo from living proof. I have very fine, thin hair that tangles easily and usually volumizing products or thickening products make it more tangled instead of just giving me soft, maneageable volumized hair, but this duo actually worked on my hair. It didn't make it look dull and gave a slight lift that wasn't exaggerated. This shampoo lathered really nicely and made my hair feel clean. I have long hair, down to my waist that tends to get greasy at the base and dry & frizzy at the ends. I have been using 50:50 Balanced shampoo & conditioner for the last 10 years, except for times when I tried out another one, or needed extra support against dandruff. I also like and occasionally use Giovanni's Smooth As Silk shampoo & conditioner (more moisturizing) and their Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner (against dandruff). I always keep coming back to this one. During these 10 years I've been moving back and forth between continents/climates. I learned that the water, climate, temperature but also our health and fitness shows on our hair. 50:50 Balanced shampoo & conditioner proved to be efficient in most scenarios. Hard spring water is what we have for bathing right now and along with the 50:50 Balanced Conditioner and Frizz Be Gone Serum it's been helping with keeping my hair hydrated and relatively frizz free. Hard water can also cause dandruff to form, so off and on I'll switch to a bottle of Giovanni's Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo & conditioner. I love the organic ingredients in Giovanni's products, not so much the other ingredients. They are not perfect, but have worked better for me than other brands I have tried! This Shampoo is great as a once or twice a month kind of use and not more. The size is small but is great for those who want to try it out first before ordering the larger size. The quality is great and it lathers easily and the scent is minty and fresh. I benefited from the clarifying aspect of this shampoo (it worked great for my scalp) but it dried out my hair after the second use. Even though my scalp and hair are not sensitive. It didn’t really moisturize my hair. Don’t think I’ll reorder this again as it was more damaging than it was helpful.iHerb Customer

I wouldn’t say it’s very tingly, not like minty toothpaste or lip balm. But just a nice fresh and slightly cool feeling on the scalp right after washing, which I love! It also has a lovely tea tree scent. It lathers easily with a nice light foam and I don’t need to use a lot. It leaves my hair and scalp feeling clean but not overly stripped. I’m so glad I took a chance on this conditioner. I was a bit worried because I have fine, low-porosity 2B/C hair and I thought this might overpower it. It’s been super frizzy and weak because I’ve been over-moisturising it. I’ve tried multiple deep conditioning protein treatments (Shea Moisture yogurt and manuka honey, Lazartigue, Briogeo don’t despair, repair) and even wore a drying bonnet to make my hair more receptive. None of them made much of a difference. Also, I’m quite sensitive to fragrance and get worried whenever people say a product “smells amazing”, as they’ve said about the Shea Moisture and Briogeo masks, which I found quite obnoxious. This one is very fruity and the smell mostly disappears after you rinse it out. It’s pleasant, if a bit odd, but not overwhelming. It’s certainly wouldn’t deter me from using it. All it took was one wash with this conditioner. My hair has transformed into a shiny, smooth mane. I’m so glad I tried it and I’m looking forward to checking out more from this range!Chloe
This is now part of my first-ever STAPLE products. I have never had a staple hair care product. I have odd hair strands that rarely like any mainstream hair care products. But, my hair loves this! I have very fine 3C/4A strands that get extremely tangled. This product MELTS away all the tangles and keeps my hair detangled all week long. I have never experienced a product that could do that for my hair before. The consistency is just like a non-thick yogurt, which my hair seems to love. The directions say to apply to wet hair. Because my hair is so fine, this was difficult even when starting with wet hair. So, I apply to damp hair. If it starts drying too quickly, I apply anyway and then spritz my hair after-the-fact with water or the JBCO water from this line. I seal the moisture in with a light oil/hair grease. My hair loves this combination. Can't wait to see if it helps me retain my hair length more easily. I currently have APL hair. Hoping to reach MBL by year's end.Tasha M.
I have long straight and fine hair – so maybe this wasn’t marketed towards me but I ended up loving it! I use a tiny amount through my ends and it does a great job and helping the dryness of my hair and taming some of the frizz. I love the smell of it too! I bought this shampoo with the expectation of finding a Clarifying shampoo that cleansed extremely well without sulfates and this does the job. This is not a moisturizing shampoo. That said I've never found it to be overly drying either. I only use it to wash the first round and then if I still need a second wash I move to the coconut cowash. The cowash is very rich and moisturizing so replenishes any oils/moisture that may have been cleansed away in the Clarifying wash. When I wash with the Clarifying shampoo, I make sure to section in 4 parts and apply the shampoo only at the roots of my hair. I don't mush my hair around so that all of my hair is saturated with shampoo or smooth the shampoo through so it coats all of the strands, there's no need. I massage and cleanse the scalp and roots, then as I'm rinsing I rub straight down the length of the hair while it's under water. The length of the hair is cleansed as it rinses from the scalp and these strands do not get overly cleansed. Once that's rinsed I either use the coconut cowash, or just move on to a deep conditioner to add moisture. Also applying the conditioner in sections and letting it sit for 15 min while steam from the shower helps it do it's magic. I then smooth it through thoroughly and rinse and detangle during that rinse. The hair is usually clean, soft and moisturized. I have dry scalp and this shampoo and method of application does an excellent job of removing scalp residue and product build up. If you don't like overly squeaky clean hair this method and/or shampoo may work for you. You still get the benefits of the clarifying shampoo without it overly saturating all of your hair and causing dryness. This shampoo may not be for everyone, but IMHO the bad rep it gets is not well deserved. It definitely does what it claims and if used sparingly and with a moisturizing follow up, it's pretty close to perfect for the purpose it was intended. For that reason I hope it's not discontinued any time soon. I think As I Am does a great job by providing 3 shampoo options, so everyone has something that suits there needs. If you think the Clarifying is a little too much try the cleansing pudding, it's technically not a clarifying shampoo, but it does cleanse away product build up. I'm not an As I Am rep. I've just been using several of the products for about 3 years now and have had good success with them.
The shampoo definitely does its job. I feel like it really gets rid of all the build-up, the hair feels clean, albeit somewhat stripped. However, it is more gentle than other clarifying shampoos that I've tried, it leaves the hair quite manageable. The scent is nice too, it smells of coconut and citrus.iHerb Customer
This was the first shampoo I bought to start my curly girl method journey and don't plan on changing it. I use cowash from the same brand and the two have been working wonders for my lifeless hair. Cleanses my scalp and hair from any product build up while keeping hair moisturized.iHerb Customer
