20 Best Shampoo And Conditioner For 3B Hair (Jan 2023 Update)

I was searching for a new go to shampoo and conditioner, something for my fine but thick, damaged and frizzes easily hair (its humid in the south), as I'm growing it out since I had to do a big chop. I did alot of searching online reading reviews on all products, that was my make or break on finally making a purchase. WTBS I'm super happy with this product and have been using it for over a month before even writing a review. The shampoo is so fragrant, it WOW'd me, it doesn't smell that strong out the bottle, I love it, but if you are sensitive to strong scents you might not like it, but after using over a week or so, you get used to its power and enjoy it alot. Lathers well, my hair feels super clean and soft, mega sleek is exactly what you get with this combination. When blow drying you can still smell the luxurious smell, faintly not over powering but where you know your hair smells SO GOOD! My frizz and fly aways are definitely helped by this product. I normally straighten my hair almost daily, but since my big chop and I'm growing out my natural hair, I want it super healthy and the least amount damaged as possible, so right now no flat iron only blow drying and it looks very good! I haven't had a haircut in over 22 weeks so I can only imagine how it would look straightened with the help of this Mega Sleek. This will be my shampoo and conditioner for a long time. The conditioner is nice and slimey (if you have hair like mine that will tangle horribly and you need a slimey conditioner just to be able to comb it after.. my hair is shoulder length now, but used to be LONG, my hair acts no different with a different length), its very conditioning and works very well!!! I have zero complaints on both these products and do recommend! Only warning is the scent if you are sensitive, you can always try and return, but give it a fair chance. I honestly love this stuff and so glad I found the right product so I can stick with something that makes me and my hair happy. FINALLY!! P.S. I leave my conditioner upside down, so its easier to squeeze it out VS shaking the bottle to get the conditioner to come out since its thick not runny.Jessica

I really love that this product truly makes my fizzy, wavy hair less frizzy and sleek! I come out of the shower with shiny hair and it seems to stay much more tame than with standard shampoos!! I am very happy with this shampoo! This shampoo has little to no scent, so it's great for people who also prefer mild-scented hair products! Highly recommend for anyone, but especially for those who deal with frizz! I usually buy Aveda smooth infusion but they changed the formula/product and reviews aren't great. So I tried this. I am completely surprised at how much I love it! It smooths my hair nicely on straight hair days but also makes my curls so happy on curly days. Great price. Does everything you would want your shampoo and conditioner to do. Thank you! I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. By this time, my hair is usually an oily, flakey mess, but it is not now because of this shampoo! Will definitely splurge for the large bottle!sweetkiwi

Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. One day I thought, I should go to my supply store and try some myself. It worked after only 1 use ! Paul Mitchell has the Best professional products out there ! I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! For me personally, I think it works great and a lot of the negative comments here are from user error but that's just my opinion.Kelsey

I usually deal with a very frizzy and unruly hair that is just too stubborn. This shampoo is the product that I did not know I need it. This shampoo works well on frizzy hair. It cleans really really well. My hair feels clean without being stripped. Smells so so delicious! It rinses off without a residue! It nourishes my hair and makes it soft. My curls have become so so bouncy and defined, I am literally loving it. My hair is no longer frizzy which is amazing. This is a great shampoo. I will definitely repurchase! Standing in the shower, on the first wash, my hair definitely didn't feel clean. The Curl Charisma didn't remove any of the products I had previously used during the week. Using a cleansing shampoo, I was able to get rid of any buildup. Then, I shampooed again with the Curly Charisma. It is a very thin shampoo and doesn't suds up (which I was kind of disappointed with after my first/second wash). Finally, I was ready for the Curly Charisma conditioner. It's thick and creamy. Worked through my hair and let it sit while was washed. Honestly, my hair may not have been in need of the rice amino and avocado hydration the shampoo and conditioner claim they have. My curls weren't limp by any stretch of the imagination but I felt like they were at vivacious and voluminous as always. I only purchased the 8oz. bottles. So, I may try again but I won't feel bad if I end up tossing. For context, I live in Utah (dry climate) and have very curly blonde hair. Love the Curly Charisma Co-wash. As others have commented, this shampoo is very drying. I noticed my hair felt dry (not stripped; but dry) after the very first wash. But, I have to be honest, my curls looked amazing! So much so that I went out the next week and bought the matching conditioner. But over time my hair just got drier and drier and eventually felt like straw after each wash. After about 4 weeks my hair was extremely dry all the time and had significantly more frizz. By 6 weeks I was noticing much more shedding and my curls were stringy and limp. . I tried everything to fix it. Different stylers. More frequent clarifying etc.. but my curls were falling flat and the frizz was out of control. I finally had to admit it was the shampoo. I stopped using this about 2 weeks ago and switched to the Shine shampoo and conditioner by Curlsmith. I saw an immediate improvement. Curls came back; frizz is better. It will take time to undo the damage from this shampoo but I'm so glad I stopped using it. If you hair truly, truly needs protein (like a lot of protein) then this could work great for you. But it was definitely damaging to my hair.Chris

This is the best curly friendly conditioner I've found so far on this site. I need a lot of product but I feel like my 2C/3A hair is much more manageable with this than with other conditioners. The downside: this is the weirdest smelling product I've ever used on my head ever. First sniff is something resembling dill pickles. It then morphs into a kind of old man's cologne, like the musky kind that's overpowering. Only to settle on a very floral mix of the previous two scents. I have no other way to explain it. . . I have been on the hunt for a natural shampoo and conditioner that wouldn't weight down my curls and so far so good with this product. The only con I would give it is that the natural smell could be off-putting for some – myself I can deal with natural, herbal smells better than fake perfume scents. This shampoo lathers well for being sulfate free and I only need about a pump and a half for my hair, which is almost down to my chest. It rinses cleanly and I follow it with the conditioner and my hair is left really soft and my waves stand out even without putting gel or mouse in it – although I often do have to style it with some sort of product but that is just the way my hair is. I would recommend this to people with wavy to curly hair for sure. My hair is long and thick and frizzy and I feel like this has helped to tame some of the frizz. I have tried other brands like devacurl and this cleans better for me (and my hair is pretty greasy at the scalp) and is a better value. Bonus points for the pump!deskar

This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. I don’t need a huge amount of it to get my hair untangled, and when I do brush through it I barely have any tangles at all. It’s also very gentle on my hair and the smell is light and not overpowering. So impressed with this product and very glad to have found it. Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. Delicious! Smells so good! I bought it to control frizz in my wavy hair. I am using in conjunction with the Curls & Waves Styling Creme and it is a nice combo for soft hair. I am in love with Pureology Smooth Perfection Shampoo! This is my first time trying Pureology and I had no idea what to expect. The first thing I noticed about the smooth perfection shampoo was the scent, I loved the hints of cocoa. Upon first application I decided to use a small amount and I am glad I did, a little bit goes a long way with this shampoo. I have really long hair and I only had to use a quarter size amount or less. I want to point out that I always have to use a handful of shampoo when I use my usual drugstore brand, so I was shocked by how little I had to use of the pureology. I massaged the shampoo in my hair for a good 1 to 2 minutes and then proceeded to wash it out. My hair felt so soft and clean without feeling stripped at all. I typically have a lot of fallout when I wash my hair, but noticed less strands of hair coming out while washing. I followed up by using the pureology smooth perfection conditioner. I also use a quarter size amount or less and it was more than enough. I focused this conditioner at the ends of my hair and put whatever was leftover on my roots. I let the conditioner sit for the recommend time of 1 to 2 minutes and then proceeded to wash it out. I felt like it took no time to wash all of the conditioner out. My hair was less tangled and overall felt so much healthier than what I am used to. I used the smoothing lotion on the ends of my hair, blow dried my hair and was so amazed by the end result. The end result after I blow dried and straightened my hair was incredible. My hair was less frizzy and more straight making it so easy to straighten. I would like to add that my hair is very wavy/curly and frizzy after washing. The price for the Pureology Smooth Perfection set is a bit expensive, but honestly it is worth every penny. I got this product complimentary from Influenster and Pureology for my honest review. I really loved how this product worked for my hair. It left it so smooth and silky. It lathered really nicely and felt great when I washed it. It also rinsed out nice and easy and left my scalp feeling great. When I blew my hair dry it was like silk. Absolutely fabulous! Only negative, which I was REALLY surprised about, was the scent of this product. It was not pleasant at all to me and not something like I’ve ever smelled in a shampoo. I didn’t like it and for me that is important in a shampoo. I have other Pureology products and love their scents. it’s just this one that I couldn’t tolerate. Otherwise, I love how the product works, but due to the scent I would not buy this product. Sorry but it’s just my honest opinion. I only like haircare that has a nice pleasant smell and this one fell short in that area. It was almost like lightly nutty and musky and sour all mixed together. I received this product from influencer pureology, but all opinions are completely my own. I have enjoyed using this shampoo. I find that the combination of the shampoo conditioner does help smooth my long hair and does really help smooth frizz. The shampoo cleanes hair great, good lather though it can make hair feel only slightly stripped. Conditioner is a nice one that helps smooth but doesn't overdo it and cause hair to feel heavy. Both help cleanse and Condition my hair without feeling too dry or too weighed down. The heat protectant from this line is nice and I feel it helps smooth hair and help make it somewhat softer. It doesn't help much with tangles though. Overall a good smoothing system that helps with frizz. I would recommend anyone trying it out.shona.d

I took a chance years ago! My frizz is under control just by shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels LIGHT (not weighed down by other frizz products). My breakage and hair loss is very minimum compared to ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE breakage and hair loss before using WOW! I’ll use this shampoo/conditioner combo forever! This shampoo is a dream for anyone w/ long hair! First, it cleans thoroughly w/out stripping your hair of natural & needed healthy oils. It's gentle while still cleansing. I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I will repeat purchase, as this shampoo does strengthen & restore my hair due effective natural components: Jamaican Black Castor oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter & Peppermint. It's sulfate-free, eligible for colored hair, by the way. The scent is really extremely pleasant like parfume for hair. My man loves the aroma & makes compliments. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. But I am completely OK with it, as benefits prevail. After use my hair has beautiful silky shine & it becomes healthier. It has helped me to resolve hair loss as well. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. I have an oily scalp with wavy waist length thick hair (many thin/low porosity strands). Color treated blonde. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. Anyway I totally recommend this set and if you're getting greasy hair from this set try the medium or fine hair set. This just probably isn't for your hair type. Due to the snow, rain and the high and lows in temperature, my hair has been duller than ever.I decided it was finally time to give L’oreal Ever Curl a try. I opened the shampoo, and the smell of refreshing coconuts filled up my bathroom. I put a generous amount in my hand and scrubbed my scalp a few times before I started to rinse.I closed it and placed it on the side of my bathtub. As I reached out and grabbed the conditioner, I noticed the shampoo top could not close tightly. After I had put the conditioner in my hair, I grabbed the shampoo and tried different ways to help the product stop leaking. After a few minutes the leaking stop. However, the top itself never closed tightly again. I received these products free, courtesy of Influenster, but all opinions are honest and of my own. The first thing I loved about this product was that it was Vegan. As an animal-lover, this was huge for me to see Influenster send these out. I also loved that it is paraben and sulfate free. Sulfates really do more damage than good to your hair, and I only want to use the best on my hair. My boyfriend has curly hair, so he tried these products out for me. Here is his opinion on the conditioner: “I absolutely love this conditioner. I have very thick, curly hair that is very hard to be tamed. Anyone with curly hair understands that you cannot simply brush your hair without it being extremely frizzy, so I do not brush it often unless it’s right before a shower. I received the L'Oréal Ever dandruff shampoo, conditioner and micro scrub complementary from Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes. I started using the products a week ago and wanted to give it a great test before reviewing and I honestly have to say this is the BEST shampoo, conditioner I've ever used for dandruff!!! I have tried many other brands and this one really done the job. I had never used a micro scrub before and I honestly think that it helps better to use it before shampooing and using your conditioner. My scalp hasn't itched at all and I've not seen any dandruff which is rare and shocking for my hair type. I have recommended these 3 products to everyone I know suffering from the same issues and know of 54 people so far that have tried it and love these products! I've been using the WOW Skin Science Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo and Coconut Avocado Conditioner for the past 2 weeks and absolutely love them! I've used apple cider vinegar on my hair so I was intrigued when I saw this shampoo. This shampoo works gently to clear build-up and dandruff on the scalp and nourish hair. It works into a nice lather a little goes a long way. It's left my hair clean, shiny and soft. The WOW Coconut Oil Conditioner is ideal for dry or stressed hair. When I opened the conditioner I exclaimed "WOW this smells fantastic!" It makes me feel like I'm on an island sitting under a palm tree and relaxing. It smells that darn good! It's a very thick conditioner but rinses out easily. Between the two of them my frizz issue's aren't there so I'm a happy camper!Lisa J.

I used the WOW products hoping to improve my dandruff issues and detoxify my scalp. The ACV shampoo lathered well, washed out easily, and left a noticeable apple cider vinegar scent. It made my scalp oily and itchy after a day or two. My scalp is not usually oily. My scalp flaked more than usual. I was using it exclusively, but then I began alternating its use with my usual shampoo, which does not make my scalp oily, because I was concerned that the WOW products were too harsh. The conditioner is very thick. I use it on the ends of my hair, not on the scalp. It has a noticeable coconut scent. The labels state there are no sulfates, but the usual sodium lauroyl sulfate is replaced with Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate. I do not know if this is comparatively healthy. It has other chemicals, including sodium benzoate. I did not notice more shine to my hair. These WOW products may not be the best ones for me and my hair concerns. Cake's Curl Girl is definitely designed to lure in people like me who 1) Love the color pink ~ the bottle & writing are pink and so is the shampoo! 2) Want their shampoo & their hair to smell good ~ the scent is my VERY FAVORITE thing about this shampoo! Maybe I got a bad batch smell-wise, but mine smells like plastic and a really bad cake-scented toy. It's very chemical and fake smelling to me, and I'm disappointed as heck in the scent. As far as the performance, it doesn't do much better in that department for my hair. My hair felt simultaneously dry and covered in residue after use. It says something on the bottle about keeping your hair cleaner for longer, but my hair looked greasy after only a few short hours when I used this. For being sulfate free, it did lather well, hence the 2 stars. I'm actually planning on just getting rid of the remainder of this bottle because I dislike it so much.mandy.g

I have frizzy , fine hair and the davines love smoothing shampoo really helps a lot with the smoothing process even before I use styling aids. This range is Rich in fatty acids and vitamins, I always want products that have a lot to offer. The formula has a high percentage of biodegradable ingredients. The davines brand is also sulphate free so people that have Brazilians or any color/ chemical treatment done can use it. The packaging is reusable. Price is in the same range as those of salon products. I reverted to the love smoothing range for my daily use, I still alternate with a few others, depending on what my hair needs.monique.o

This is the best shampoo I have ever used! I received a sample of it in my subscription box and was amazed at the fact that it had more then one use in it! The shampoo spread nicely which is why there was more then one use in it. I have long hair too! It made my hair soft and shiny and healthy looking! It's hard to do that with my dry, brittle hair. It is quite expensive but worth every penny and then some. I always purchase in bulk when I get my taxes so I will have enough for the entire year. Just got my Black Friday order 3 days ago (amazing deal, by the way) and have washed and styled my hair twice with the Curly system and I absolutely love it! I used to have nearly perfectly straight hair through my teens and early 20's then noticed the texture started to change into my 30's and beyond (I'm 41 now). I was super bummed because I always used to get compliments on my hair growing up, but as it changed it just seemed to be frizzy and crazy unless I used a straightener. I decided to start using various drugstore styling products for wavy/curly hair and had decent results, but it seemed like every time I thought I had a good combo of products, one or two of the items would stop being made or stocked and I'd be back to square one. For the last couple of years I've been starting with spraying a fair amount of sea salt spray to my damp hair to add volume followed by a curl defining spray that I would scrunch in before diffusing. I got compliments on my hair again, but it always seemed a bit dry to me, and if I ran my hands through my hair I would feel a salty residue. I felt there had to be something better for me…I have been seeing ads for LUS on Facebook for at least the past year or so, and was always intrigued, but still too apprehensive to commit to spending a bit more on my hair care, regardless of all of the amazing reviews. However, when I woke up the day after Thanksgiving and saw the awesome deal LUS was offering for such a large bundle of products I immediately placed my order. All I can say is WOW. I feel like it came out nearly perfect on the first try!! My hair is so soft, grit-free, and bouncier and shinier than with my old routine. It really does not take much product at all, at least for my fine hair. I divided my hair into 8 sections and only used either a partial pump or a full pump of the styling product on each (depending on the thickness of the section); made sure to use the great spray bottle to keep my hair damp, scrunched and arranged my hair, then used my diffuser like normal. The application of product took a bit of time, maybe 10 minutes, then the diffusing was another 5-10, but as I get more used to the routine I think it will go even faster. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say so far. 🙂Christi

I have been using the 3-step system exactly as instructed for a month and my hair is limp, the curls are weighted down a good 3 inches from the scalp and frizzy. In short, my hair looks horrible. I have tried using less conditioner than instructed, more and less product, and everything in between. The all-in-one styling product is essentially a light leave in conditioner that does not hold my curl shape or provide any manageability or hold whatsoever. I have fine 2C/3A hair and after a month of using this product system it looks like I have frizzy hair with a bonus of zero lift or volume. No thank you. My hair looked fine the first two times I used it, but has gotten progressively worse with each shampoo, condition, and styling. If you have fine hair, stay away from this product. Even though the hair quiz will say it will work for your hair, it will not. I'm sure if you have thick, coarse hair that is 4A-C, this is great. If not, user beware.Stephanie P.

BEWARE – they do not have a satisfaction guarantee. If you try the product and are unhappy with the results, you are just stuck with it. I have 2C curls, and tried the 3 step system in Curly – based on my test results. My hair is extremely healthy, I have been using sulfate, paraben, silicone free products for over 5 years. I do not use heat or color treat my hair, and it is trimmed regularly. I have had a TON of success with the DivaCurl products, but wanted to try something new to see what else was out there. After two weeks of use with the LUS 3 step system I purchased, I was not getting the results that I had hoped for. My hair had this dirty/sticky feeling to it after it dried. Definitely not silky looking or feeling at all. I altered how I used the product thinking I was not using enough water, or perhaps using too much product, but no matter what I did, I had the same results. One pump of product applied in the shower with TONS of water, and my mid length hair still dried and felt dirty/sticky. My hair has much better results with NO product at all, compared to my results using the LUS set. Reached out to customer service to see if it would be possible to return product for a refund and was told that was not an option. They do not offer returns or credits on any type of open product. Disappointed, should have just stuck with the DivaCurl product I was using and had great results with. Don't waste your time or money, definitely NOT worth it,Beth H.

My Briogio SuperFoods mango and cherry balancing shampoo and conditioner was gifted by Briogio in exchange for my honest review. I’ll start off my saying I have fine to medium hair which is mostly straight and wash my hair every 5-7 days depending on if I worked out and sweat a lot. My scalp is not oily but also isn’t dry. I have also highlighted hair recently so my hair has gone from very healthy to partially bleached and now requires a little extralegal and care. The shampoo and conditioner come in clear packaging that remind me of a bottle of juice. The shampoo is a bright orange color and smells very delicious. The conditioner is a very thick consistency and milky orange in color. The shampoo isn’t my favorite. When I applied it, I felt my hair being to tangle up so I wasn’t very impressed but I lathered through and rinsed it off. I definitely recommend to use this shampoo with the conditioner. I received this product complimentary from Briogeo Hair Care. Briogeo is a cruelty free, clean hair product that will work on all hair types so I was super excited to try this brand to see how it would work for my dry, way hair. The packaging on these products is super cute and remind me of fresh made juices that one would get to drink from a grocery store. Upon opening the shampoo, it smells super good and fruity. It definitely have a strong mango scent, but I don't get too much cherry from it, to be honest. I'm not complaining though because it smells mouth watering, almost good enough to eat! The shampoo has a really runny texture so it's easy to accidentally spill it out of your hands. I applied to the roots of my hair and it lathered up really nicely. It rinsed away really easily and it left my hair feeling clean, but not stripped and dry, which I am very thankful for!! This is a gentle, but powerful shampoo that worked even for my dry hair. I received the Briogeo Superfoods Mango + Cherry Shampoo complimentary from Briogeo Hair Care in exchange for my honest opinion. Starting off the smell is absolutely amazing! Its scent is both light and tropical and in my opinion the perfect scent for summer, but may be too strong for someone who prefers a subtle smell. The Superfoods Shampoo absolutely accomplishes its job when coupled with its conditioner companion, but I have a few qualms with it. The consistency is super thin in comparison to other shampoos so I felt like I used far more product than I needed. At this price point, the last thing you want to do is waste product so I feel a pump may have been a better design choice. So I know Briogeo touts that their products are "6-free" (no parabens, sulfates, etc.) but my hair didn't feel deeply clean while the shampoo was in my hair. I was skeptical to using this brand at first as I wasn’t sure if it was a marketing strategy. But god am I so glad I am! I was using olaplex (which we know is expensive!!) and this makes my hair softer and shiner than olaplex. Now that is saying something! I actually really like this conditioner. The first time I bought it, I didn't. I decided to give it another try and k actually really like it. I use it as a rinse out and when I "squish to condish". I feel more comfortable using this for squish to condish rather than a normal rinse out conditioner because those are not meant to be left in the hair and this one is. I do rinse this out though. I really wanted to love this product and I did in the first month of using it. I applied it in the shower and brushed through it really easily, it helped revive my waves, and I really liked the smell. Unfortunately after about a month of use I started noticing really bad dandruff at the front of my hairline, big dandruff flakes, and the nape of my neck was itch. Then I started getting this weird buildup on my hair after the shower. My hair just felt really tacky, when I tried to brush through it, it got tangled immediately because it was sticking to itself, I even noticed some white buildup on my brush. So the next time, I washed the brush, washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, and made sure to wash out the conditioner well…really well. And it still left this really sticky gross buildup on my hair. It was almost impossible to even run my fingers through. I shampooed my hair twice with a clarifying shampoo and went back to one of my old conditioners and my hair is pretty much back to normal. There is still maybe one part that is still a little sticky/tacky so I'll have to wash it again. Maybe this works for some people, it just didn't work for me. I really like Not Your Mother's products but this particular one didn't quite make the cut. I love how they are free of alcohol, silicones, phthalates, sulfates and dyes. This can be used as a leave in conditioner, rinse out or just as a co-wash. It does enhance my curls and give some definition but my hair is so oily the next day, I have to wash it. Also, my hair seems extra tangley and dry the next day. Just remember that everybody's curls are different and so what might not work for me, might work for you.ashley.b

My hair had been thinning for some time and, after my first use of this product along with the same brand/line’s conditioner I saw a noticeable difference in how thick my hair looked. Unfortunately I did not take any photos of my hair at the start of product use — I wish I had! — and so I can’t speak to whether my hair looks thicker because hair grew or because this product just makes hair appear so. In any case, my hair looks and feels great since using this product line (almost a month, now): thicker, definitely softer, less frizz, and it smells amazingly. This was such a fun campaign to be in! There were FOUR full sized products that I got to try. I definitely felt I got a good sense of each product before writing my review. With that being said though, I honestly was not a fan of the shampoo. It’s not necessarily the product’s fault though because unless it was formulated for a dry scalp, there was no way I was going to be able use this long term. My hair didn’t feel drier the few of times I used this, but it also didn’t feel more moisturized either. It did look like it had a tad more volume, but that was probably in combination with the other products. It did smell really good (reminded me of a Bath and Body Works lotion. Couldn’t pinpoint which one) and the scent lasted for a couple days actually, but unless you have a normal scalp with hair that doesn’t require too much hydration, I would recommend sticking to your regular shampoo.christina.l

I’m super bummed about this shampoo. I read so many great reviews, and I found it at Walmart for a great price. So here we go — pros: it smells ANAZING. Like, super good. It kinda reminds me of Bath and Body Works sweet pea scent. And it’s sulfate free! Cons: It made my hair feel INCREDIBLY dry on the ends. Bad. And that was after the conditioner (plus rinsing with cold water). It also left a weird crunchy residue feeling on the top part of my hair, too. I made sure to rinse it all off as well, but it felt super weird on top when it started to dry. I’ll maybe use it one or two more times and then throw out the bottle. This product could work for you, though. I’ve read more good reviews than bad. I just personally haven’t had a good experience with it. Like, my hair was practically SCREAMING for hydration after using this product. I have very fine hair but a lot of it, and I’m just saying — my hair felt healthier after bleaching it awhile back than it did after using this shampoo + conditioner.
