where have you been my entire life? I have very thick course hair and I love it long. I was so excited to try the new Olaplex No.4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo and was not disappointed! I start off by applying weekly in place of my regular shampoo to my wet hair at the scalp working to ends, working it into a lather, letting it sit for around 5 minutes to fully penetrate and process, rinse and follow with conditioner. This shampoo really does an amazing job clarifying my hair without leaving it feeling it dry like many others do because it is pH balanced. It removes buildup, damaging impurities, excess oil, pollution, heavy metals, and hard water minerals which basically covers so many things and what more could I personally ask for in a clarifying shampoo I ask myself? I really like using these products and how my hair feels after using them. I ordered the whole set during the flash sale and when I received the products the shampoo, conditioning spray, and the conditioner weren't closed properly so most of the product was in the bottom of the box. I sent an email about the issue but I received another email for a link that doesn't work to open a ticket. No one has reached out to me and I have been sent the same link twice. My previous order the pumps on the bottles were broken. I just chalked that up to shipping but when the products are sent to you already opened, that's a whole other issue.Marcia W.
This is one of my top five shampoos for people who have a four c hair texture! The smell is amazing. It definitely gives off hints of pomegranate and honey which is the perfect snow combination. It provides a thick rich and full leather without having to use 17 pumps of shampoo. I Projects like that mielle products are parabens and sulfates paraffins and mineral oil all free. I will be the first to say that being that I have for sea hair this is not a detangling product. Moisturizing absolutely. Cleaning your hair it also removes all the impurities. I was a little disappointed when I received my black Friday package from Mielle. I have ordered before and have been pleased but this time it was like everything was thrown in a box and shipped. The box was so beat up its like the products could have came out and almost would have im certain had it been tossed around any more and I know that part wasn't so much their fault but I figured it would have been put into another box to ship to prevent that problem. The products had no confetti at least to soften how its thrown around everything was so greasy i thought for sure a product or 3 were leaking and also nothing was wrapped at least in bubble wrap considering how it was boxed up. Ok so! I love this shampoo. This has been the only shampoo to clean my hair and bot dry it out. My natural gwols know how frustrating it can be to wash, moisturize and style your hair and then it be dry and toe up the next. I know how it feels to buy a hundred plus dollars of products to be disappointed or mixing them with new products so money isn't wasted. I washed my hair the first day I bought this and fell in love. My hair was soft. It didn't dry out after and the tea tree leave-in…girl use that too! I haven't tried the detailing conditioner yet because they were out of stock when I purchased. Probably because of that half off sale. I did find that this and Taliah's apple aloe deep conditioner work well together. My hair was shiny, easy to comb and style. I also used the Tgin moisturizer. I have a mix of 4b and 4c hair. My daughter's has 4b hair and it works perfect for her. Her wash and go's hold all day even after recess and a long day at school. My sister has used a nice amount of the leave in and moisturizer, now I have to buy more lol. I am going to try the honey mask and the anti-breakage serum. I will be leaving reviews also. Let me start off my by saying this product is AMAZINGGGGG ! I usually have a very hard time finding the right products for my hair especially when it comes to shampoo . My hair is usually VERY dry and soaks up moisture QUICK most shampoos tend to leave my hair even more dry and brittle feeling. this shampoo along with the conditioner has done wonders for my hair. I have moderately frizzy but mostly straight Caucasian hair and I've been using natural, sulfate/paraben free shampoos for a year or so now. I like TGIN because it makes my hair SUPER silky and soft. The conditioner detangles so well that I can easily wide tooth comb my hair straight out of the shower. However, my hair does feel very heavy and has NO volume whatsoever after using this. I also have to wash more frequently as my hair gets oily way faster, oily to the point it looks bad. Standing in the shower, on the first wash, my hair definitely didn't feel clean. The Curl Charisma didn't remove any of the products I had previously used during the week. Using a cleansing shampoo, I was able to get rid of any buildup. Then, I shampooed again with the Curly Charisma. It is a very thin shampoo and doesn't suds up (which I was kind of disappointed with after my first/second wash). Finally, I was ready for the Curly Charisma conditioner. It's thick and creamy. Worked through my hair and let it sit while was washed. Honestly, my hair may not have been in need of the rice amino and avocado hydration the shampoo and conditioner claim they have. My curls weren't limp by any stretch of the imagination but I felt like they were at vivacious and voluminous as always. I only purchased the 8oz. bottles. As others have commented, this shampoo is very drying. I noticed my hair felt dry (not stripped; but dry) after the very first wash. But, I have to be honest, my curls looked amazing! So much so that I went out the next week and bought the matching conditioner. But over time my hair just got drier and drier and eventually felt like straw after each wash. After about 4 weeks my hair was extremely dry all the time and had significantly more frizz. By 6 weeks I was noticing much more shedding and my curls were stringy and limp. . I tried everything to fix it. Different stylers. More frequent clarifying etc.. but my curls were falling flat and the frizz was out of control. I finally had to admit it was the shampoo. I stopped using this about 2 weeks ago and switched to the Shine shampoo and conditioner by Curlsmith. I saw an immediate improvement. Curls came back; frizz is better. It will take time to undo the damage from this shampoo but I'm so glad I stopped using it. If you hair truly, truly needs protein (like a lot of protein) then this could work great for you. This product works as step one of my product routine. Does it give the best coverage or moisturizing power? No, but remember it is designed to also be a co-wash. You can tell by the slight astringency and bubbles post-rinse that it has mild cleansing action. You do need a fair amount to coat the hair enough to brush detangle, but it wins best all-around for curls. It smells amazing, and gives good curl definition, shine and frizz control. I wash it out, then use Alba cocoa butter as a scalp moisturizer/leave-in, and finish with a humidity hold gel, and get a beautiful cast that lasts about a week. I did prefer the previous formulation when it was called custom conditioner, (I think they were cutting costs with the change), as you didn't need to use as much, but still like it enough to keep using.dartarro21
I’ve been using this duo for a while and gathering my thoughts! Overall, I really like the shampoo and conditioner duo. I have pretty wavy hair that curls on the bottom layers, and it needs a lot of moisture to avoid frizz and stay shiny. This shampoo and conditioner really deliver! I love that the conditioner is multi-use, so works as a conditioner, leave-in treatment or as a co-wash. Bumble and bumble has the key to luxurious curly hair! I was ecstatic when this generous sample came in the mail because I am always on the hunt for great hair products for my curly hair. Bumble and bumble’s Bb Curl product line made my hair soft, feeling hydrated and my curls controlled. I got a great lather and a fresh feeling from the Moisturizing Shampoo. The 3-In-1 Conditioner was very creamy and hydrating whether I rinsed it out or left it in. Not to mention the fact that my hair smelled great! Bb Curl’s Anti-Humidity Gel-Oil left me with nice, loose curls and kept my hair from getting frizzy even when the humidity was high. I also used this product right before bedtime because it felt nice and light, leaving my hair not sticky to the touch. It was nice to not wake up with crazy bed-head for a change! I used the Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil heat/UV protective primer before using my straight iron and found that it worked well without leaving my hair greasy or gunky. It also did not leave any residue on my iron. The Defining cream gave my curls definition without the usual crunchy, sticky texture we all dislike so much. My curls still bounced while I walked and I could even pick my hair without ruining the hold. It didn’t flake off either. I enjoyed the conditioner the most. Im sure using the set boosts the outcome but this product itself surprised me. Instantly once I applied it my curls already looked detangled, shiny and moisturized. If I had to choose 1 out of the 3 Curl Nourish products this would be my pick. I am not a fan of Garnier, personally they have been around for a very long time and their ingredients have always been further from pure, highly fragranced and not geared towards curls or colored folks. But brands are trying to get on board with inclusivity and cleaner ingredients so I gave this set a shot today. The set smelled like coconut but is not overpowering at all, it was rather light and soft. But oddly when I searched for this product on sites like Target, Walmart etc., it was nowhere to be found. So I’m unsure if this is a new launch. This set reads “Elasto-protein and coconut oil” but you won’t find those words on the Curl Nourish Set in store. Instead, you will find “Glycerin + Coconut” in store and everything written on the front is also different from what I received from Influenster so that’s odd and is a bit down putting if I end up liking this product. So be aware!
The textured hair journey can be so frustrating! For a year or so, I’ve watched all the YouTube videos and tried all the “specialty”/pricier curl products with no success. On a whim, I decided to try this because of how affordable it is (while still being free of parabens, sulfates, etc). I am OBSESSED with my hair! I can’t get over it. I have pretty course hair (my natural hair is grey and I’ve been color treating it for over 20 years), and I can’t remember there ever being a time when my hair was so soft, and bouncy, and shiny! On non-wash days, I just have to re-wet my hair with a water bottle and diffuse, and it looks just as good as day 1. On wash days I use the Curl Nourish shampoo in combo with the Curl Nourish conditioner, followed by a little Sleek & Shine leave-in conditioner and the Curl Shape defining spray gel (both also Garnier). Then I diffuse and voila – body and shine and bounce. Did I mention I’m obsessed? As I have learned well, everyone’s hair is unique and what works for one curly girl won’t work for another, unfortunately. But maybe this review will help someone else who’s just as frustrated as I was, and maybe these amazing and affordable products will work for you, too. If not, don’t give up! I really enjoyed this shampoo even though I had some issues with the conditioner in this 3 step system. The smell is good and it definitely cleaned my hair well– it lathers nicely. I did not have any issues with my hair becoming more oily with this shampoo ( I tried washing my hair a few times with only the shampoo and then using the spray between washes that deemed to help for me). the first time I used the product, once my hair air dried, I definitely noticed my wavy hair being more wavy textured than normal. this was something that was consistent with the use of this shampoo (the conditioner just seemed to increase the oil in my hair which took away from any beautiful waves I may have had ). I really wanted to like this product! I was excited to try it, It smells greattt! But I naturally have super thick/long hair and it did not do a good job of making my hair feel clean. My hair still felt dirty, greasy and itchy when I got out of the shower. It also produces very little suds, which is something I need a lot of to properly clean my thick hair. I work at Ulta so naturally I love trying different products. Since it’s close to summer I wanted to stop styling my hair and instead start wearing it natural (in the summer it’s just way too hot to style my thick hair and the humidity makes it not last anyways!). However, I have wavy hair with the potential to be curly with the right shampoo/ styling products. So, I wanted to try the coconut curls line to see if I could enhance my waves/ curls and it worked! I brought this product for a cheaper alternative. I was really disapointed with the results and damage ir had done to my hair. It made me lose hair, made my hair dry and frizzy. Although it smells nice its completly ruined my curls and turned them back to frizz. Not a good product. Shea moistuer is amazing!! It is just quite expensive! I'm going to try to explain this in a way that makes since… ok stay with me. For the longest time the only way I could wash my hair was in the shower because it allowed my hair to flow in the natural direction (towards the back). I couldn't sink wash anymore because flipping my hair in the reverse direction (towards the front, forehead) would knot and tangle my hair. Detangling would always be a headache after sink washes, so eventually I gave up. Before this product I would have to use an abundance of conditioner just to detanagle my hair. BUT BAAABY!!! this shampoo right HERE!!!! I can now shampoo my hair in the sink again and easily detangle it without conditioner! This for me is a big deal because it allows me to cleanse my hair any time of day I want and not solely around showers. ( I know it may not mean much to some, but there's a method to my madness). My hair is very manageable after using this shampoo. It smells great too. Let me also add that my hair was slightly damaged prior to using this (plus other Mane choice products) and my curls are BACK and popping! These products have brought my hair back to life I couldn't be happier.
Using the shampoo my hair felt like a cloud, now no I've never touch a cloud but I imagine it's quite soft and fluffy. Now don't get me wrong I'm a garnier girl at heart and no I'm not going to switch out my maoke syrup shampoo for this yet completely but its s definite kicker. This probably happened because I decided to dive into the line using nothing but pink lemonade my hair probably couldn't handle the drastic change. For the conditioner I didn't find it to have much slip for detangling, I didn't have an issue as once my hair gets water it detangles but more slip needed. This is really fantastic shampoo. My hair has been really prone to getting tangled lately and since I've been using this shampoo it's been much easier to comb. It's also one of the few shampoos that entirely gets rid of my frizz. My hair stays very soft for days afterwards. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars is because it isn't available in a bigger bottle like most brands have. Most brands have a regular size bottle and a 'jumbo' size one. My hair is down to my hips so it doesn't take long for me go through a bottle (usually about two weeks or so). I would love to have a bigger size so I don't have to constantly go out and buy it.DLS

This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. I don’t need a huge amount of it to get my hair untangled, and when I do brush through it I barely have any tangles at all. It’s also very gentle on my hair and the smell is light and not overpowering. So impressed with this product and very glad to have found it. Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. Delicious! Smells so good! I bought it to control frizz in my wavy hair. I am using in conjunction with the Curls & Waves Styling Creme and it is a nice combo for soft hair. So I want to start by saying I live in the desert and have super thin dry hair, so I was SUPER excited to try this product (I used all four products – shampoo, conditioner, mask, and leave in condition together). I used all four products for this account: At first I was only going to give this a 3 because on day one of hair being washed, I feel like my hair still ends of feeling and looking really dry (especially the tips – see photos). BUT day two my hair looked/felt better, and day three my EVEN better! I showered all three days, it only used the products the first day, so you can see the progress of how my hair softened, my curls came out, AND I LOVED how my hair felt day 3/4. Normally with silicone products day 3 I HAVE to wash my hair again because the product is so heavy at my roots, whereas I LOVED how these products made my hair feel several days later. I still took off a star because of how dry my hair feels on day one. I have to suffer through one day of my hair bit feeling so great to get to better hair days, and I don’t really love that aspect. I've used this product intermittently for 15+ years. Over the last 5 or so it's become my go-to. I have fine, type 3 curls, low/medium porosity and medium density. I can't even begin to tell you how many different shampoos/conditioners I've tried, and I always come back to this set or the Ultra Hydrasource. I've never experienced any hair loss whatsoever, in fact, I have with other brands and once I go back to this it stops. The smell is absolutely amazing also! I wash my 1-2x a week with this, and in between I use a co-wash from Curlsmith. I always start with using the detangling solution from this line and brush through in the shower with my wet brush. I rinse, shampoo with this, then use the Hydrasource conditioner or a deep conditioner. I comb that through and let sit for several minutes and rinse. Even with very dark natural hair and having bleached highlights (touch ups every 3-6 months), my hairdresser brags about how healthy my hair is! I get a trim every 8 weeks, and she always tells me I don't even need it because of how healthy my ends are, even during post-COVID hair issues I was experiencing (loss and thinning). My husband also started using this when he ran out of his Redken Brews and his hair is VERY fine and thin, and he said he couldn't believe how much better his hair looked and felt (he's also a curly guy, only getting his hair cut/shaved 2-3x year). ⭐️First of all let’s get this out of the way, I was incentivized. I received these samples for free from Influenster and matrix for my honest opinion⭐️ Now that’s out of the way… Oh my hair is loving me right now… I waited until shampoo day and it was well worth it! After using the amazing shampoo I was a little skeptical that my hair would take to this conditioner because it’s so damaged and after I wash it I usually have to put a million and one conditioning products in it just to make it manageable!!! Well let me tell you this is not the case! After issuing a decent size dollop I ran it through my hair starting at the ends and working my way up to the root. Then I added a little bit of water to make it activate a little bit and VIOLA! I let it sit in my hair for about 5 to 10 minutes and then I rinse with lukewarm water. I gently towel dry my hair afterwards and went to come through with a white tooth comb. This is the first time that the comb actually ran through my hair because my hair is so damaged. I literally want to cry. If your hair is out of control and it’s breaking to no end you should really try this and give it a little time and you will see such a difference. I want to wash my hair so badly again but I know I have to wait till it’s actually dirty! The smell is so lovely and it doesn’t fade away but it’s also not overbearing. Give it a try it!! I have naturally curly unruly coloured treated for decades hair that I use hairdryer & straighteners on. I further abuse my hair by swimming outdoors a lot over tge summer in the sunshine. I was a big Aveda Smooth Infusion fan until I finally listened to my Tony & Guy hairdresser & started using these Olaplex products to repair my badly treated hair & maintain the colour. I am now an Olaplex convert. My hair condition instantly improved after one wash, it smooths my hair better than Aveda Smooth Infusion. It is more concentrated that the Aveda Smooth Infusion so a 250ml bottle of Olaplex lasts much, much longer than the Aveda Smooth Infusion. I bought this for my wife and she use this with the No 0, No 3, and the No 5. I must say the combo of these together is amazing. Her hair was pretty much destroyed frome excessive styling, blow drying and box dyes. We could totally tell a difference after just one use of these products together. Her hair looks healthier, has more shine and manageability, doesn't look as damaged, she isn't yanking out knots when she wakes up and brushes her hair plus it just feels so soft and looks smooth not frizzy. It seems like the texture, strength, and even the way her hair is laying is totally changing. The smells not over powering which is something we both love because sometimes hair fragrances clash with perfumes but not Olaplex it's perfectly balanced. The bottles aren't the biggest which was kind of a let down but you don't need near as much as other shampoos so it seems like it will last just as long as a big bottle of regular shampoo. It lathers and rinses out amazingly! The pure magic that comes out of those bottles can't be beat and it's so worth it! The duo of the conditioner, shampoo and other products used together can't be matched or beat! Her hair and her self imaging is healing and getting better after each use. I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5. Since my hair is quite fine and thin I use the bond building treatment and hair perfecter 1-2 times a week for the past month. Honestly I am stunned at the results. Since it’s not a permanent fix but a treatment, you do have to continue using it. I did read somewhere that there’s no way for it to permanently fix your already damaged hair but it can definitely treat it while the damage grows out. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, there’s no apparent residue, and it felt healthier and looked healthier after only the first try and has consistently improved since. I’ve tried so many products that just seem to sit on top of my hair and reflect light instead of actually improving anything texturally. I was also stunned at the quality of the product, not just in effect but a little really does go a long way in each one of my products. It smells and feels amazing. I could clearly go on. I’m just so pleasantly stunned! I had read some very negative reviews and was prepared to just take a chance and I’m thrilled and impressed with the results. This Pacifica Pineapple Conditioner is a great followup to the shampoo to lock in the right nourishment to produce the curls you need. It made my hair come back to life after hair dyes had caused damage of dryness and lifeless hair. It’s more youthful because it’s shiny, wavy and soft again! It actually works as promised! Smells fresh, although the shampoo is stronger. I love the Pacifica products I’ve been trying because of my curiosity and sales I’m trying more. I just finished this bottle and I'm sorry to say I won't buy it again. The shampoo itself is ok but I feel like it weighs my hair down. But I am hating this new container designs. It arrived leaking within the plastic bag. And then somehow, the bottle continued to leak from the top even though I had it stored upright. By the time I finished the bottle, the whole thing had a thick coating of shampoo on it. AND there's no way to open the top to add a little water to get all of the product out. I bought this shampoo with the expectation of finding a Clarifying shampoo that cleansed extremely well without sulfates and this does the job. This is not a moisturizing shampoo. That said I've never found it to be overly drying either. I only use it to wash the first round and then if I still need a second wash I move to the coconut cowash. The cowash is very rich and moisturizing so replenishes any oils/moisture that may have been cleansed away in the Clarifying wash. When I wash with the Clarifying shampoo, I make sure to section in 4 parts and apply the shampoo only at the roots of my hair. I don't mush my hair around so that all of my hair is saturated with shampoo or smooth the shampoo through so it coats all of the strands, there's no need. I massage and cleanse the scalp and roots, then as I'm rinsing I rub straight down the length of the hair while it's under water. The length of the hair is cleansed as it rinses from the scalp and these strands do not get overly cleansed. Once that's rinsed I either use the coconut cowash, or just move on to a deep conditioner to add moisture. Also applying the conditioner in sections and letting it sit for 15 min while steam from the shower helps it do it's magic. I then smooth it through thoroughly and rinse and detangle during that rinse. The hair is usually clean, soft and moisturized. I have dry scalp and this shampoo and method of application does an excellent job of removing scalp residue and product build up. If you don't like overly squeaky clean hair this method and/or shampoo may work for you. You still get the benefits of the clarifying shampoo without it overly saturating all of your hair and causing dryness. This shampoo may not be for everyone, but IMHO the bad rep it gets is not well deserved. It definitely does what it claims and if used sparingly and with a moisturizing follow up, it's pretty close to perfect for the purpose it was intended. For that reason I hope it's not discontinued any time soon. I think As I Am does a great job by providing 3 shampoo options, so everyone has something that suits there needs. If you think the Clarifying is a little too much try the cleansing pudding, it's technically not a clarifying shampoo, but it does cleanse away product build up. I'm not an As I Am rep. I've just been using several of the products for about 3 years now and have had good success with them.
The shampoo definitely does its job. I feel like it really gets rid of all the build-up, the hair feels clean, albeit somewhat stripped. I’ve been using Shae Moisture for many years. I love the natural ingredients they use. This recipe is by far my favorite. I have an autoimmune disorder that causes very dry skin and scalp. I have 1A-1B hair as well as a thyroid condition (which i personally believe has attributed to my hair struggles). I've used Salon Quality products for 16 years and have only had some limited experience with silicone free hair care products, I've always had bad experiences going silicone free but this time it was nearly painless. While my hair hasn't always been dry and I've always tried to keep it healthy its been causing me greif for a year. The longer it got the drier it got even with adequate hair care and hair cuts. My scalp is oily but from midway down to the ends my hair is dry and tangles so easily, I lose most hair by trying to brush it out. The process I found for me that works is to wash my hair with the greens shampoo, condition with the greens conditioner, rinse, then use the manuka honey hair mask and leave on in the shower for a few minutes while I do my body care (really massaging both conditioner and mask into my hair strands well), rinse the mask, then use the conditioner again (massage into the strands), then rinse. It sounds like a lot for my hair type and it probably is but I've been trying to find an adequate solution for the last 2 years in terms of adequately moisturizing my hair while keeping balanced roots… its been impossible and there have been added obstacles like developing allergies. The conditioner alone or mask then conditioning isn't enough for my hair. I'm really so in love with these products and I'm so happy they're easily accessible where I live. My scalp isn't irritated any longer, im not having any random scalp break outs or redness and my hair isn't constantly so tangled that I have to just keep it in a bun to hide the rats nest until I can oil it up and brush it out and repeat the same process over with do much care and no permanent resolve. The smell is yes, like a very healthy smoothie but it also as you begin rinsing it out smells a lot like a very basic bar soap as well. I find it very interesting, somewhat nostalgic (soap smell), gives off a healthy vibe so you feel better if you are washing your hair daily and its therapeutic. I was contemplating cutting all of my long hair off (24 inches) just to get some relief and now I dont feel I have to.Kelsey

My mom bought this for herself, but she said she didn’t like the way it worked. It made her curls completely lose shape and turn frizzy. I decided to try it on my wavy hair. Lately my curl pattern has finally started to show, but these products completely weighed down my hair and left an insane amount of buildup after only one use. My curls were completely gone, they were just stringy, greasy, frizzy clumps. My two sisters also tried it, they also had the same problem. Their hair is greasy the day they washed with these products.

I have tried so many products that are made to help with frizz. This product by far is the best I have found. I love that I can shampoo/cream rinse my hair and apply this product to my wet hair and scrunch it and it turns out wonderful. My hair is long, to my waist and very heavy. This product is my favorite. I did not care for the shampoo or cream rinse though. It tended to dry my hair a bit. I love the smell too. I have received so many compliments since using.Loraina Powell

This is the best curly friendly conditioner I've found so far on this site. I need a lot of product but I feel like my 2C/3A hair is much more manageable with this than with other conditioners. The downside: this is the weirdest smelling product I've ever used on my head ever. First sniff is something resembling dill pickles. It then morphs into a kind of old man's cologne, like the musky kind that's overpowering. Only to settle on a very floral mix of the previous two scents. I have no other way to explain it. . . I have been on the hunt for a natural shampoo and conditioner that wouldn't weight down my curls and so far so good with this product. The only con I would give it is that the natural smell could be off-putting for some – myself I can deal with natural, herbal smells better than fake perfume scents. This shampoo lathers well for being sulfate free and I only need about a pump and a half for my hair, which is almost down to my chest. It rinses cleanly and I follow it with the conditioner and my hair is left really soft and my waves stand out even without putting gel or mouse in it – although I often do have to style it with some sort of product but that is just the way my hair is. I would recommend this to people with wavy to curly hair for sure. My hair is long and thick and frizzy and I feel like this has helped to tame some of the frizz. I have tried other brands like devacurl and this cleans better for me (and my hair is pretty greasy at the scalp) and is a better value. Bonus points for the pump!deskar

It's a little expensive running about 10 to 11 dollars a bottle. Im Telling you though it's worth it. It's not just for curly hair either. I have straight hair that can get messy and this product can tame the beast. There is no oily feeling afterwards just clean soft hair. I definitely recommend trying this product. I’m one to put conditioner on my hair and leave it on for 5-20 minutes depending on how I feel. My hair feels absolutely amazing when I use the conditioner. I’ve tried to stay away from coconut oil products but this product is great. Would defiantly recommend this to any curly girl! I love the pump it makes it easy to use especially since I wash my hair in the sink and water often runs over my eyes. The packaging is super cute and the coconut image across the top band let me know without having to read that there is coconut something in it. My hair did feel a lot softer after I used it. I have a sensitive nose so I can’t use some products because of the smell. This scent wasn’t too overpowering, I actually thought it was pretty good. My hair even stayed moisturized when I was twisting my hair. This was the most drying, matting shampoo I've come across in a long time. I wanted to try something different ( cause shampoo is shampoo right?! WRONG) I have a mix of type 3c, 4b and beyond. I have a clarifying shampoo but wanted a moisturizing one to use. This was a mistake. My hair instantly started clumping and matting. I wash my hair weekly and detangle well before I even wet it.. Based on other reviews, I really wanted to love this product for my thick curly hair..this shampoo/conditioner combo made my scalp very itchy and dry – something I’ve never had issues with before. On top of that by day 2 it was making my hair fall out in CLUMPS. I’m not talking typical “more than a few strands because it was worn up today” either – I mean handfuls each wash. I made myself use it until it was gone to see if it was an adjustment my body needed to make and nothing improved. This product, as well as other scents/formulas by Maui, is absolutely wonderful. Everyone in my family is now using one of Maui's formulas because it works really well and smells good. The tendency is to use a normal sized dollop of this shampoo. However, you quickly find you don't need but half that amount to get your hair perfectly clean.iHerb Customer
