I had a sample of this shampoo, then bought the full size and now that I've used it up, I'm missing it! Other shampoos that I've used including shea moisture, taliah waajid and the mane choice just don't compare to this. This shampoo checks all the boxes, except being black-owned. I can detangle, it's moisturizing, it smells good, it has GREAT ingredients and it gets my scalp SO clean! When I use other shampoos, I still have a little bit of itching after and my scalp really starts itching mid-week. With this shampoo, even when I work out almost everyday, I don't get the incessant itch until almost the end of the week. The itching is so much less than anything else I've used. Hopefully it's made by black people so I can support black professionals that way. I'll definitely repurchase!

SO GLAD i did!! seriously like liquid gold in a bottle, it smells lovely makes my hair feels silky and moisturized! i look forward to washing my hair now, literally count the days down. i also use this lines detangling spray which i technically dont need bc of how amazingly soft the shampoo and conditioner make my hair but i feel that it definitley helps! i have type 3 curly hair. I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. I purchased this product after developing an intolerance to fragrances which cause serious itching/inflammation of my scalp. It is not easy to find fragrance free products and I was skeptical that this would work. I was pleasantly surprised in how quickly switching to this (and fragrance free conditioner) fixed the itchy scalp. I also have colored hair, this does not ruin the color. I have dry, eczema-prone skin and scalp and this shampoo is great! I use to suffer from a very itchy scalp and eczema bumps from either fragrance in shampoos or the shampoos being too harsh, and I haven't had those problems at all since I started using this shampoo about two months ago. I have coarse, thick curly hair and this effectively cleans my scalp even when it's been several days in between washes and there's a lot of product in my hair. It is a watery consistency, but as long as you lather it in your hands before applying it to your scalp, it works like a charm! The only downside is I wish bigger bottle sizes were available. I love this product! I was having real issues with my itchy/dry/flakey scalp. I thought my scalp was naturally like that, and had sort of resigned myself to head-and-shoulders (still makes me shudder). I was so fed up though, and decided to splurge. I figured that because I’ve got fragrance sensitive skin I should try this-I loved some of Briogeo’s other products. The shampoo has been great and a little goes a long way. I also haven’t had any dandruff or itchy scalp! I would definitely recommend using it with the conditioner (it’s creamy and wonderful and has prevented my long, straight hair from breaking). I took off a star because of the price and the bottle design. I would love for the price to either lower or for the company to come out with a value size. The bottle itself is sort of horrible, the pump does not work well and it’s difficult to get out any remaining product. The shampoo itself works well for stripping product buildup, cleansing the scalp, and leaving your hair feeling clean. It lathers really well into hair. The only semi catch is that it washes and rinses better with cold water over warm or hot. The smell is amazing, I wish it was a little more potent, but if your pair this shampoo with it's conditioner in crime (as I do) the smell balances out. Great size, scent is ok. ive used it twice now and the quality is not the best. It does cleanse the scalp. But it made my hair very dry and brittle afterwards. Even with the hydrating conditioner. if you have a sensitive scalp i would not recommend this. Very harsh and irritating but, ive noticed that i Dont feel as much of the build up products anymore. I used this product about a year ago. I saw it online and couldn’t resist the deal. 25 ounces of sulfate free, silicone free shampoo for about $8! What a steal! Well, the only thing that was truly stolen was my $8 and I want it back. Lol! This stuff smelled so bad. It was like a strong, sickly sweet, fake coconut smell. I thought maybe it just smelled that putrid in the bottle so I decided to wash give it a try. That smell got even stronger as I washed my hair! This product is in my everyday haircare routine. It's an all natural ingredient shampoo and doesn't contain sulfates or silicones. This shampoo is also color-safe friendly. The shampoo itself works well for stripping product buildup, cleansing the scalp, and leaving your hair feeling clean. It lathers really well into hair. The only semi catch is that it washes and rinses better with cold water over warm or hot. The smell is amazing, I wish it was a little more potent, but if your pair this shampoo with it's conditioner in crime (as I do) the smell balances out. As should be said this product alone, like I mentioned works well, but it works best with the paired conditioner. If your hair or beard is long you will not be able to run your fingers through your hair as you're working it in and washing it out. What can I say aside from this stuff being absolutely incredible. It has a dry finish, but within hours your hair feels softer and smells amazing with this lemon scent that lathers well and is perfect for men who want more volume or have thinning hair. I luckily still have a full head of hair, but it’s quite fine in texture, and this stuff truly does make it feel more thick from the Coconut Oil and Kelp Extract that they infuse. I have avoided this ingredient for almost a year so I realised straight away when it had an extreme lather. I like this leave in conditioner it has a water like consistency. It has almost a fruity pineapple scent. It doesnt moisturize my hair but It is also an additional heat protection so it makes my life easier to not constantly try to buy a seperate heat protectant for styling. It doesnt do much hydration at all but it does the job for a tiny extra bit of moisture. If youre someone that has low perosity hair i don’t recommend as it doesnt have much hydration properties at all but maybe for someone who has an oily scalp and want a more lightweight product this may be the one for you. My natural gwols know how frustrating it can be to wash, moisturize and style your hair and then it be dry and toe up the next. My hair was soft. It didn't dry out after and the tea tree leave-in…girl use that too! I haven't tried the detailing conditioner yet because they were out of stock when I purchased. Probably because of that half off sale. I did find that this and Taliah's apple aloe deep conditioner work well together. My hair was shiny, easy to comb and style. I also used the Tgin moisturizer. I have a mix of 4b and 4c hair. My daughter's has 4b hair and it works perfect for her. Her wash and go's hold all day even after recess and a long day at school. My sister has used a nice amount of the leave in and moisturizer, now I have to buy more lol. I am going to try the honey mask and the anti-breakage serum. I will be leaving reviews also. I want to note I am leaving this review after a few weeks of using. I like to get a feel. I washed my hair with the Taliah apple aloe shampoo and it was giving dry and not for me. I have moderately frizzy but mostly straight Caucasian hair and I've been using natural, sulfate/paraben free shampoos for a year or so now. I like TGIN because it makes my hair SUPER silky and soft. The conditioner detangles so well that I can easily wide tooth comb my hair straight out of the shower. However, my hair does feel very heavy and has NO volume whatsoever after using this. I also have to wash more frequently as my hair gets oily way faster, oily to the point it looks bad. I wish they had this brand in NYC!! My sister introduced me to these products. I used these products for the first time this summer in the Dominican Republic. The shampoo has a strong smell of mint but it is great because it literally gets rid of all the build-up on my scalp. It is a bit drying but the conditioner adds moisture back on your hair. my daughter recommended this shampoo along with the conditioner. I was surprisingly disappointed. I of course thought right away that it would be effective based on the cost. Not at all, for starters I felt it made my hair more tangled and hard to manage which concerned me cause I already have course hair and figured how am I going to get out of this tangled mess. The conditioner didn't even help a bit and need I mention that when I tried to style my hair it was never ending. I was completely surprised that this didn't do for me what all the reviews I read said it would. I understand everyone's hair is different but I read so many reviews raving about this that I had no doubt that this was going to be the best shampoo I'd ever tried. Boy was I wrong… The first issue I had with this was that it didn't latter do a degree that I am used to. I thought I was going to be able to work around this but without the latter I really didn't feel as though it was cleaning my hair. I started with one pump but that really only washed the top of my head- barely. Another pump for my hair (mid back length, curly) which lathered even less on the strands then my scalp. Using two pumps – sometimes three- really doesn't bode well for the life of the product. With that said problem two arose; this barely lasted a month and a half using it every other day. At 24$ a bottle it really isn't realistic for me to keep purchasing when I was having no results and basically dumping it down the drain. Results were really nonexistent, my hair was still frizzy and ultimately more dry than before I started using it. There was no real change in texture in the month I used it. There was no problem for me with the smell like some people had, it just smelled like salon shampoo. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing this again, however I wouldn't tell people to stay away as so many reviewers said that it did wonders for them so I imagine I'm just an off case. (As a disclaimer I did use this with the It's a 10 conditioner so my problems weren't conditioner based.)mariah.h

I purchased this at my hairdresser and I absolutely love it It has an amazing smell and it feels Like I've spent the day at the salon after I use it. It makes my hair ultra shiny, soft and healthy. I typically have purchased L'ANZA at my salon, but in a pinch ordered from Lovely Skin. Everything came quickly at a lower price, making this my new 'go-to' for purchasing L'ANZA. I always get the large pump bottles, as they're easier to dispense with arthritis and last a long time. Love L'ANZA!
First off, this smells amazing! But more importantly, if you have dry or damaged hair, this is a great daily moisturizing shampoo. It may seem like a lot to some people, however this shampoo is outstanding , formerly using a shampoo from a different brand and this ranks among it if not better. For reference I have low porosity thin coarse curly hair. I had really high hopes for this product. After a few uses I realized that this product lead to extreme hair loss for me and product buildup. I couldn’t go a day without washing or having extremely greasy hair which is not normal for me. The whole line tangles hair. Very disappointed but it smells nice.fb

nothing spectacular. gets the job done and leaves hair squeaky clean. I appreciate that this shampoo does not contain silicone and I like that it has sulfate so that all of the silicone from my products can get washed off. I alternate between this and the mixed chicks co-wash, so I only use this every two weeks for a very thorough wash. I like the scent too, it's very mild but pleasant. It's like pressing the reset button for those of us who use many different products on our curly hair all the time.Veronica
Was a bit too harsh even for my oily scalp. Dried out not only my scalp which then felt itchy throughout the day, but it also dried the ends of my hair. My hair felt/was really brittle and frizzy. It also has a very strong soapy smell (reminded me of a cleaning solution smell tbh) I did not like that at all. If you have sensitive skin and are sensitive to fragrances, I would not suggest this shampoo.Les
I have 2A/2B wavy, medium porosity, thick shoulder length hair. I have been looking for a shampoo that both makes my hair feel clean after a hospital shift, and keeps my waves fluffy and smooth. This shampoo checks all the boxes and more. It smells clean and the smell lasts out of the shower. It does get foamy, which I like, but I do have to use a good amount for both my upper and lower layers. But for this price, I don't mind using a lot of product at once. Make sure to use your fingers to scrub this into your scalp, for the best effect. I wouldn't use this alone, as I can feel it leaves my hair tangled, after it has washed out. Definitely use this with their Leave-In Conditioner, for the best results (I use it as a regular wash-out conditioner as well). I use these two products with their Morning After Foam as well, and get lots of compliments on my big wavy hair 🙂Sophia
