Ok so! I love this shampoo. This has been the only shampoo to clean my hair and bot dry it out. My natural gwols know how frustrating it can be to wash, moisturize and style your hair and then it be dry and toe up the next. I know how it feels to buy a hundred plus dollars of products to be disappointed or mixing them with new products so money isn't wasted. I washed my hair the first day I bought this and fell in love. My hair was soft. It didn't dry out after and the tea tree leave-in…girl use that too! I haven't tried the detailing conditioner yet because they were out of stock when I purchased. Probably because of that half off sale. I did find that this and Taliah's apple aloe deep conditioner work well together. My hair was shiny, easy to comb and style. I also used the Tgin moisturizer. I have a mix of 4b and 4c hair. My daughter's has 4b hair and it works perfect for her. Her wash and go's hold all day even after recess and a long day at school. My sister has used a nice amount of the leave in and moisturizer, now I have to buy more lol. I am going to try the honey mask and the anti-breakage serum. I will be leaving reviews also. I want to note I am leaving this review after a few weeks of using. I like to get a feel. I washed my hair with the Taliah apple aloe shampoo and it was giving dry and not for me. Let me start off my by saying this product is AMAZINGGGGG ! I usually have a very hard time finding the right products for my hair especially when it comes to shampoo . My hair is usually VERY dry and soaks up moisture QUICK most shampoos tend to leave my hair even more dry and brittle feeling. this shampoo along with the conditioner has done wonders for my hair. I have moderately frizzy but mostly straight Caucasian hair and I've been using natural, sulfate/paraben free shampoos for a year or so now. I like TGIN because it makes my hair SUPER silky and soft. The conditioner detangles so well that I can easily wide tooth comb my hair straight out of the shower. However, my hair does feel very heavy and has NO volume whatsoever after using this. I also have to wash more frequently as my hair gets oily way faster, oily to the point it looks bad. I'm going to try to explain this in a way that makes since… ok stay with me. For the longest time the only way I could wash my hair was in the shower because it allowed my hair to flow in the natural direction (towards the back). I couldn't sink wash anymore because flipping my hair in the reverse direction (towards the front, forehead) would knot and tangle my hair. Detangling would always be a headache after sink washes, so eventually I gave up. Before this product I would have to use an abundance of conditioner just to detanagle my hair. BUT BAAABY!!! this shampoo right HERE!!!! I can now shampoo my hair in the sink again and easily detangle it without conditioner! This for me is a big deal because it allows me to cleanse my hair any time of day I want and not solely around showers. ( I know it may not mean much to some, but there's a method to my madness). My hair is very manageable after using this shampoo. It smells great too. Let me also add that my hair was slightly damaged prior to using this (plus other Mane choice products) and my curls are BACK and popping! These products have brought my hair back to life I couldn't be happier.
Using the shampoo my hair felt like a cloud, now no I've never touch a cloud but I imagine it's quite soft and fluffy. Now don't get me wrong I'm a garnier girl at heart and no I'm not going to switch out my maoke syrup shampoo for this yet completely but its s definite kicker. This is really fantastic shampoo. My hair has been really prone to getting tangled lately and since I've been using this shampoo it's been much easier to comb. It's also one of the few shampoos that entirely gets rid of my frizz. My hair stays very soft for days afterwards. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars is because it isn't available in a bigger bottle like most brands have. Most brands have a regular size bottle and a 'jumbo' size one. My hair is down to my hips so it doesn't take long for me go through a bottle (usually about two weeks or so). I would love to have a bigger size so I don't have to constantly go out and buy it.DLS

Easy to use from the tube, so handy for the shower but the first thing that struck me was it didn’t have a particularly pleasant scent! It was difficult to lather and seemed to tangle my hair. I washed it twice, which I don’t usually need to, nor do I need to use conditioner, and my hair seemed to tangle even more and felt rough! A light towel dry and I attempted to use a wide toothed comb, my usual, and my hair was so tatty! My hair dry, now looks more wavy than curly. Bought this shampoo/conditioner because I love the curl cream that this brand has. I have extremely thick 2C-3A hair. This conditioner dried my hair out to the point that I would get out of the shower and it would take me 30+ minutes to detangle my hair before styling it. My hair felt like hay in and out of the shower. My hair would be in huge clumps and I was also losing huge clumps of hair. I switched back to my old hair products and after just one use my hair was immediately better. I do NOT recommend for anyone who genuinely cares about their hair's health. This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. First of all, I love the packaging. If I was going into a store with no idea on what anti-frizz products to choose, I would be immediately drawn to this range. It’s a fantastic choice in packaging design; very aesthetically pleasing and likely now my favourite hair product packaging. The colours are right up my alley. The usability of the packaging is also fantastic. The squishy tube is super easy to squeeze, making using this with wet/slippery hands no trouble at all. It also ensures the product is completely depleted when finished, either squeezing it out or cutting open the packaging which isn’t easy with hard plastic packaging. This shampoo is lightly fragranced and I quite enjoy the pretty scent which isn’t overpowering at all, and doesn’t seem to linger. I didn’t need to use much to create a large amount of foam which lathered quickly, which is exactly how I prefer shampoos to act. I love the addition of Aloe Vera in products as I find it hydrating and soothing, which this shampoo is. It wasn’t irritating or drying for my scalp and my hair felt decently hydrated and soft afterwards. It’s no substitute for a proper hydrating shampoo though if you have really dry hair (though I did find the matching smoothing crème adds some lovely hydration). The shampoo was also easy to rinse out, which is always a plus, meaning I could move onto the next step in my hair care routine and have more time for other things later. Using this with the conditioner, the amount of frizz in my hair was greatly reduced. I experienced very minimal frizz which is usually unheard of unless I smother it with something which makes me also look greasy and/or weighs it down. Instead, for the extra frizz that appears when in humid environments, or when my hair gets damp from rain or perspiration, I can now use the matching smoothing crème for that unwelcome frizz and look like I’m not using any product. It really is weightless, as well as non-greasy. If you have any amount of frizz and want to reduce it without sacrificing the bounce and lightness of your natural hair, I highly recommend giving this shampoo and the matching conditioner and smoothing crème a try. I have pin straight hair. My daughter on the other hand has the beautiful, bouncy ringlets I have always wanted. Because I'm totally in the dark on how to do/what to use on her hair, it has been a major learning curve to have her hair really be as beautiful as it can be every day. I have purchased MANY products, including some that were way too expensive in trying to learn what her hair needs. It wasn't until I received a sample of John Frieda Dream Curls Conditioner from PinchMe, that I knew I found it! To be fair, I used the sample both with (I went out and purchased it) and without John Freida Dream Curls shampoo. For starters, this conditioner has a nice, silky feel and a rather dense consistency. Because I know her hair needs a thicker conditioner, I was already excited. It has a very wonderful and somewhat strong (but not nauseating) fresh scent that does carry onto the hair well. It works through wet hair very well and makes detangling easy. It rinses out easily from the hair and keeps a good amount of moisture locked in. After showing, her hair was very easy to comb. We are both VERY pleased at the results of this conditioner! (That's why I went out and purchased the shampoo!) It keeps the hair very moisturized, makes it super silky and shiny and gives her gorgeous ringlets incredible definition, body and bounce! He hair feels healthy, smells amazing (which is incredible because she is 11 and has that hormonal head/hair now that needs to be washed daily), and it feels and looks SO HEALTHY! I know everyone's hair is different and what may work for some may not work for others (you can see the evidence of that by looking at all the products in my bathroom), but I feel like this conditioner is great for anyone with big loopy curls, waves, and even straight hair that needs extra moisture! While I did receive John Frieda Dream Curls Conditioner complimentary from PINCHme, my opinions are honest and my own. I don’t have DEEPLY curly hair but I do have a wave to my hair, which is a fine texture. I live in an area that also has a high humidity so it’s so important to have protection against the dreaded frizz! After a hair wash, I applied the cream based conditioner and as my usual process I left it in for a few minutes to really set in and soak into my hair. I really loved the scent, pleasant but not overpowering, just light and relaxing! It left my hair feeling clean and nourished, smooth to the touch with the benefit of keeping the hair detangled. It’s also sulfate and paraben-free, which I find treats my hair well. After letting my hair dry (I generally let it naturally dry unless I need to style it) I felt it really still felt moisturized and healthy, ready to take on styling but to give my hair natural bounce and strength. I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I will repeat purchase, as this shampoo does strengthen & restore my hair due effective natural components: Jamaican Black Castor oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter & Peppermint. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. I had a sample of this shampoo, then bought the full size and now that I've used it up, I'm missing it! Other shampoos that I've used including shea moisture, taliah waajid and the mane choice just don't compare to this. This shampoo checks all the boxes, except being black-owned. I can detangle, it's moisturizing, it smells good, it has GREAT ingredients and it gets my scalp SO clean! When I use other shampoos, I still have a little bit of itching after and my scalp really starts itching mid-week. With this shampoo, even when I work out almost everyday, I don't get the incessant itch until almost the end of the week. The itching is so much less than anything else I've used. Hopefully it's made by black people so I can support black professionals that way. I'll definitely repurchase!

I wish they had this brand in NYC!! My sister introduced me to these products. I used these products for the first time this summer in the Dominican Republic. The shampoo has a strong smell of mint but it is great because it literally gets rid of all the build-up on my scalp. It is a bit drying but the conditioner adds moisture back on your hair. The conditioner has a thick consistency so a little bit goes a long way. Same as the curling puree. When I put it on I could see the white residue but as soon as my hair dried it was completely gone.eleny.d

I am m not sure what magical ingredients go into this, but the products have transformed my hair. I was forever searching for my "holy grail" shampoo and conditioner and nothing ever 'wowed' me. I have fine thin hair and the old formula always worked well for me. My hair would blow out to be light and bouncy. This new formula just weighs it down. We placed a delivery order recently with Wal*Mart a few items were delivered from our local store. They left the order at our door left before we realized it was the wrong order. Because of covid, they don't accept any returns of local delivery orders, so they let us ( I guess the person who got our stuff) keep it for free! This is great because we were almost out of conditioner! I'd never tried this particular conditioner before but I thought it looked like a good one but didn't have super high hopes because nothing has ever done a total miracle for my hair before. On a dryness, brittleness, frizziness, tanglability (Is that a word? LOL!), unruliness scale of 0 – my Dreamland Baby doll I got when I was 8 (Wow! That hair! Eek! It was short but would turn back into a frizzy, tangled mess 1 minute after thoroughly brushing taming without touching it!), my hair is off the charts! It's crazy thick, unbelievably frizzy, more porous than Spongebob, incredibly weak dry. I can't shampoo daily (it takes too long makes the texture worse) I absolutely have to put products in after each shampoo too keep it under some sort of control. I'm always looking to try new shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, treatments, leave-ins in hopes of finding the hair miracle I've been hoping for. My goodness, this is it! Even before applying a leave-in while my hair is still damp, I can tell that my hair is unbelievably soft! I have covid, so I went longer than usual without shampooing (finally did today) even after several days, my hair felt silky, smooth, soft, with very minimal frizz or tangles! For the most part this worked well. It does a decent job controlling frizz and defining curls too. The hold doesn't last long though, I did have to touch up through the day because it didn't hold up. I like it for quick errands around town but not if I need my curls to last all day. I found this to be an excellent light conditioner. I have 3 b hair that I bleach and dye fun colors so my hair is a bit damaged, but this product line has been really nice to my hair. The conditioner isn't going to be great for anyone with type 4 hair or above, but it is excellent for waves and 3 type curls because of how light weight it is. I wash my hair once or twice a week. I wash, rinse, condition, detangle, leave on for 5-10 minutes, rinse. I usually put the leave in conditioning treatment from Chi on after but while I am still in the shower. And sometimes I will do a deep conditioning treatment instead to get the moisture kick I need.Kiantewench

I used to have dry, frizzy unmanageable curly hair (3b). I've tried nearly every product for curly hair and *nothing* has worked like this leave-in. My hair is now shiny and smooth, but retains my curls too. I can actually brush through my hair on no-wash days and my curls maintain their shape. With other products, my curls would fall and get frizzy by mid-day. I know everyone responds uniquely to products, but I am so happy to to find my holy grail! I do t understand some of these reviews, like it not being thick? This is a very thick leave in and you really need to use sparingly. I feel like if you actually put enough in to coat the majority of your hair to reap the benefits you would have a greasy head full of hair. I got this because I was a bit on protein overload and while my hair has felt softer it's not done anything to repeat or seal split ends like it claims. Doing a bunch of research after this issue I've found that although coconut oil is a big fad it is actually not good for a lot of hair types. ESPECIALLY if your dealing with excess protein in your hair, it will make the problem worse since coconut oil causes protein buildup. Wish I had know that before purchasing. Seeing as how so many products have coconut oil in them that's probably how I wound up in the mess to begin with. Just a FYI for anyone else that may be having the same issue. Now I do like TGIN repair mask, although I don't like the smell necessarily, I also don't get the amazing smell others claim regarding this leave in?! I got the Husk curl care detangling conditioner and it left my hair easy to manage. The consistency of the conditioner was just right. Not too thick but not too runny. It applied well and evenly to my hair. The conditioner coated the strands and wasn't messy. I usually let conditioner sit on my hair with a plastic cap for 10-20 minutes. I was able to comb through my hair with minimal tangles and the small ones I had were easy to get through. My hair felt soft and moisturized. The conditioner is vegan and had no sulphates or parabens. It's complete with coconut oil, argan oil, and vitamin to give my hair what it needs to be manageable and look great.Ajann1983
LOVE IT!!!!! I was to the point I was going to cut my hair short due to always having tangles easy, frizzy, puffy hair I had it…. I was going to give this Detangler conditioner and shampoo a try first. It smells good I use both every other day I even tried the leave in spray on my hair. I was very disappointed I love this shampoo I have ordered it a couple other times. I did not know they had smaller bottles and I probably would have known by the price but it said $5 and something off that would be approximate price with that added on for the next size which is much larger. okay yeah I think it was costly for the size but the bottle that lid was not tight. is Ashley leaks out in a plastic bag thank goodness for that down to where the label starts. I don't remember if they had white protectors when you open the lid to pull off I can't remember that. I will not bother bringing it back I need some now. if there was something supposed to be over the top of that bottle, it is a little scary. I’m one to put conditioner on my hair and leave it on for 5-20 minutes depending on how I feel. My hair feels absolutely amazing when I use the conditioner. I’ve tried to stay away from coconut oil products but this product is great. Would defiantly recommend this to any curly girl! I love the pump it makes it easy to use especially since I wash my hair in the sink and water often runs over my eyes. The packaging is super cute and the coconut image across the top band let me know without having to read that there is coconut something in it. My hair did feel a lot softer after I used it. I don't blow dry nor do I dye my hair. I use hair creams and sometime flexible styling hair sprays not related to this brand. With that said, with this shampoo I sometimes have to lather twice to really feel like I fully removed any hair products, other than that, this shampoo does lather well & has a soft smell to it. It's winter here at the moment and this shampoo is not helping with my winter dandruff, which it's okay, I scalp detox once a week & that helps for a while, not this brand either, but I'm mentioning it incase you think it helps moisturize your scalp. This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet. There’s no cast to scrunch out. The pump is also really hard to use and only dispenses like a dime size of product with each pump, which means I need to pump twice just to get enough for one section of hair. It is very hydrating, so I can’t knock it down too much, but it is probably my least favorite ouidad product, which is saying a lot because I LOVE ouidad. I actually really like this conditioner. The first time I bought it, I didn't. I decided to give it another try and k actually really like it. I use it as a rinse out and when I "squish to condish". I really wanted to love this product and I did in the first month of using it. I applied it in the shower and brushed through it really easily, it helped revive my waves, and I really liked the smell. Unfortunately after about a month of use I started noticing really bad dandruff at the front of my hairline, big dandruff flakes, and the nape of my neck was itch. Then I started getting this weird buildup on my hair after the shower. My hair just felt really tacky, when I tried to brush through it, it got tangled immediately because it was sticking to itself, I even noticed some white buildup on my brush. So the next time, I washed the brush, washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, and made sure to wash out the conditioner well…really well. And it still left this really sticky gross buildup on my hair. It was almost impossible to even run my fingers through. I shampooed my hair twice with a clarifying shampoo and went back to one of my old conditioners and my hair is pretty much back to normal. There is still maybe one part that is still a little sticky/tacky so I'll have to wash it again. Maybe this works for some people, it just didn't work for me. I really like Not Your Mother's products but this particular one didn't quite make the cut. I love how they are free of alcohol, silicones, phthalates, sulfates and dyes. This can be used as a leave in conditioner, rinse out or just as a co-wash. It does enhance my curls and give some definition but my hair is so oily the next day, I have to wash it. For me, it was just ok. The consistency of the conditioner is thick and the bottle is rigid and hard to squeeze. No joke, I couldn't actually squeeze the product out unless I used BOTH hands…so I have to squeeze the conditioner on the side of my bathtub and then scoop it up afterward with my hands in order to use it. It's just terrible packaging for such a thick conditioner. It needs a pump or a bottle made of more flexible plastic. The product itself is moisturizing, for sure! First off I love Kerastase hair products. However I have wasted money accidentally purchasing shampoos by them containing sulfates so this shampoo made me happy and as an added bonus, this is formulated for curly hair! I have no idea what type of hair I have but it’s basically wavy and frizzy not coiled curly but curly wavy if that makes any sense? I have not used this shampoo without using the conditioner that goes along with it so I can’t speak to how this works without it but I feel like a hair care works best when they are paired with their are complementing product and for my hair the shampoo along side the conditioner works really well. My hair is soft it smells great and unlike some sulfate free shampoos the stuff lathers is up really well in the shower! so for me this is a five-star product and I have nothing bad to say about it. I don’t use curl enhancing products to actually enhance my curls I use them to hydrate because I tend to blow dry my hair straight so again can’t speak to how well it’s curling my hair but I can tell you that my hair definitely feels more hydrated and the more hydrated your hair is the more your curls will bounce and shine and look pretty. I received a free sample of this to try and review. My hair has a curl when air-dried, so I was hoping this would be a better alternative to using gel and a diffuser for volume. I tried this three different ways. I used this as an add-on to my dry hair that was curly first. It made my hair seem oily, so I definitely wouldn't use it that way, even though the curls stayed. The second way I used it was adding it to damp hair and letting my hair air dry. This actually loosened my curls and left them less defined, which I didn't like. They did stay the same all day, and the smell was nice. No oily feeling and probably the best way of using it. The last way was using my diffuser after applying this to damp hair. I lost almost all of the curl with this product in when I used the diffuser. I'd say if you add this to damp hair and let it airdry, it will give you the best results. I prefer the way my hair looks with a mousse more than this for sure. It may work better only very curly hair.nd1129
I want to love this product, it really is amazing, but it weighs my hair down on day 3 and over. I typically wash my hair once a week, but when I use this I have to wash at least three times a week, which I hate because I lose more hair! My hair is fine so I’m sure that doesn’t help, maybe if I had thicker hair this wouldn’t pose an issue. It smells amazing and can compliment any perfume you may wear. It definitely defines curls and/or waves and holds them in all day! It doesn’t too much stop the frizz though; I found my hair just as frizzy as before. Overall, if you have fine or thin hair with deep waves or curls and wash daily or every other day, this product is for you!! However, if you don’t wash often, probably not the best choice as you will need to use it daily for curl refreshing and it doesn’t layer up well for daily use on the same (unwashed) hair. I did only have to use two pumps for my mid-back length hair, so a little does go a very long way!CCharityC
