20 Best Shampoo And Conditioner For Coarse Hair (Jan 2023 Update)

I was searching for a new go to shampoo and conditioner, something for my fine but thick, damaged and frizzes easily hair (its humid in the south), as I'm growing it out since I had to do a big chop. I did alot of searching online reading reviews on all products, that was my make or break on finally making a purchase. WTBS I'm super happy with this product and have been using it for over a month before even writing a review. The shampoo is so fragrant, it WOW'd me, it doesn't smell that strong out the bottle, I love it, but if you are sensitive to strong scents you might not like it, but after using over a week or so, you get used to its power and enjoy it alot. Lathers well, my hair feels super clean and soft, mega sleek is exactly what you get with this combination. When blow drying you can still smell the luxurious smell, faintly not over powering but where you know your hair smells SO GOOD! My frizz and fly aways are definitely helped by this product. I normally straighten my hair almost daily, but since my big chop and I'm growing out my natural hair, I want it super healthy and the least amount damaged as possible, so right now no flat iron only blow drying and it looks very good! I haven't had a haircut in over 22 weeks so I can only imagine how it would look straightened with the help of this Mega Sleek. This will be my shampoo and conditioner for a long time. The conditioner is nice and slimey (if you have hair like mine that will tangle horribly and you need a slimey conditioner just to be able to comb it after.. my hair is shoulder length now, but used to be LONG, my hair acts no different with a different length), its very conditioning and works very well!!! I have zero complaints on both these products and do recommend! Only warning is the scent if you are sensitive, you can always try and return, but give it a fair chance. I honestly love this stuff and so glad I found the right product so I can stick with something that makes me and my hair happy. FINALLY!! P.S. I leave my conditioner upside down, so its easier to squeeze it out VS shaking the bottle to get the conditioner to come out since its thick not runny.Jessica

I really love that this product truly makes my fizzy, wavy hair less frizzy and sleek! I come out of the shower with shiny hair and it seems to stay much more tame than with standard shampoos!! I am very happy with this shampoo! This shampoo has little to no scent, so it's great for people who also prefer mild-scented hair products! I usually buy Aveda smooth infusion but they changed the formula/product and reviews aren't great. So I tried this. I am completely surprised at how much I love it! I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I will repeat purchase, as this shampoo does strengthen & restore my hair due effective natural components: Jamaican Black Castor oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter & Peppermint. It's sulfate-free, eligible for colored hair, by the way. The scent is really extremely pleasant like parfume for hair. My man loves the aroma & makes compliments. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. But I am completely OK with it, as benefits prevail. After use my hair has beautiful silky shine & it becomes healthier. It has helped me to resolve hair loss as well. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. I really like using these products and how my hair feels after using them. I ordered the whole set during the flash sale and when I received the products the shampoo, conditioning spray, and the conditioner weren't closed properly so most of the product was in the bottom of the box. I sent an email about the issue but I received another email for a link that doesn't work to open a ticket. No one has reached out to me and I have been sent the same link twice. My previous order the pumps on the bottles were broken. I just chalked that up to shipping but when the products are sent to you already opened, that's a whole other issue.Marcia W.

This is one of my top five shampoos for people who have a four c hair texture! The smell is amazing. It definitely gives off hints of pomegranate and honey which is the perfect snow combination. It provides a thick rich and full leather without having to use 17 pumps of shampoo. I Projects like that mielle products are parabens and sulfates paraffins and mineral oil all free. I will be the first to say that being that I have for sea hair this is not a detangling product. Moisturizing absolutely. Cleaning your hair it also removes all the impurities. I was a little disappointed when I received my black Friday package from Mielle. I have ordered before and have been pleased but this time it was like everything was thrown in a box and shipped. The box was so beat up its like the products could have came out and almost would have im certain had it been tossed around any more and I know that part wasn't so much their fault but I figured it would have been put into another box to ship to prevent that problem. The products had no confetti at least to soften how its thrown around everything was so greasy i thought for sure a product or 3 were leaking and also nothing was wrapped at least in bubble wrap considering how it was boxed up. Literally just thrown in the box any kind of way. I have naturally curly unruly coloured treated for decades hair that I use hairdryer & straighteners on. I further abuse my hair by swimming outdoors a lot over tge summer in the sunshine. I was a big Aveda Smooth Infusion fan until I finally listened to my Tony & Guy hairdresser & started using these Olaplex products to repair my badly treated hair & maintain the colour. I am now an Olaplex convert. My hair condition instantly improved after one wash, it smooths my hair better than Aveda Smooth Infusion. It is more concentrated that the Aveda Smooth Infusion so a 250ml bottle of Olaplex lasts much, much longer than the Aveda Smooth Infusion. I have just returned from a week swimming for hours everyday in Greece. Chlorine, sunshine, colour treated unruly hair, hairdryer & straighteners everynight = hair abuse I know. I used Olaplex everynight. I returned with my hair in good condition, the colours maintained & I brought most of the 250ml bottles back of each product. I bought this for my wife and she use this with the No 0, No 3, and the No 5. I must say the combo of these together is amazing. Her hair was pretty much destroyed frome excessive styling, blow drying and box dyes. We could totally tell a difference after just one use of these products together. Her hair looks healthier, has more shine and manageability, doesn't look as damaged, she isn't yanking out knots when she wakes up and brushes her hair plus it just feels so soft and looks smooth not frizzy. It seems like the texture, strength, and even the way her hair is laying is totally changing. The smells not over powering which is something we both love because sometimes hair fragrances clash with perfumes but not Olaplex it's perfectly balanced. The bottles aren't the biggest which was kind of a let down but you don't need near as much as other shampoos so it seems like it will last just as long as a big bottle of regular shampoo. It lathers and rinses out amazingly! The pure magic that comes out of those bottles can't be beat and it's so worth it! The duo of the conditioner, shampoo and other products used together can't be matched or beat! Her hair and her self imaging is healing and getting better after each use. I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5. Since my hair is quite fine and thin I use the bond building treatment and hair perfecter 1-2 times a week for the past month. Honestly I am stunned at the results. Since it’s not a permanent fix but a treatment, you do have to continue using it. I did read somewhere that there’s no way for it to permanently fix your already damaged hair but it can definitely treat it while the damage grows out. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, there’s no apparent residue, and it felt healthier and looked healthier after only the first try and has consistently improved since. I’ve tried so many products that just seem to sit on top of my hair and reflect light instead of actually improving anything texturally. I was also stunned at the quality of the product, not just in effect but a little really does go a long way in each one of my products. It smells and feels amazing. I could clearly go on. I’m just so pleasantly stunned! I had read some very negative reviews and was prepared to just take a chance and I’m thrilled and impressed with the results. It’s made me finally feel like I can get my hair back to something I love again. I have been using the Shea Moisture conditioner for approximately two weeks and was provided them by #trywithtopbox as a #freeproduct for my honest review. I have fine, thin, waist length hair that is naturally blonde starting to go grey, that is prone to split ends and I would describe as normal to oily. I don't wash it daily but every 2 to 3 days it's just too much work to do daily. I used the conditioner as directed and found that my hair combed out fairly easily even while still wet which was great as it tends to tangle quite badly when I don't use a good conditioner on it. My hair was soft and shiny and manageable. The container for this feels slightly greasy when I handle it during use even after rinsing them off. The conditioner bottle uses a pump as a dispenser which is great but I couldn't get the original one that came with the bottle to function. I replaced it with one I had but I noticed that the thick conditioner dries and forms a plug that takes several pumps to force out. Overall I would say this was a good product that worked as advertised and if someone was looking to try this I would recommend it, I'm not sure if it is the best choice for me given the frequency with which I wash my hair.MargarethaM

I received this as a #freeproduct through #trywithtopbox, but this review is 100% my honest opinion. I have fine 2A/2B hair that is coloured/bleached. I really struggle to find conditioning products that are repairing and hydrating for the colour, but not too heavy for my fine hair. Most conditioners really weigh my hair down and make it oily. I didn’t have that experience with the SM manuka honey and yogurt conditioner! First off – the scent is lightweight and really nice. It smells exactly like honey, but isn’t too sweet. The formula is hydrating but not heavy. It’s a thinner consistency than a lot of other repairing conditioners, which worked really well for me. I use one pump from the nape of my neck to my ends and let it sit for a few mins before washing out with cold(ish) water. I don’t believe that long term results can be identified without using the entire bottle, but I will say that my hair has been shinier, easier to detangle after washing, and less frizz since starting to use this product. The ends of my hair are usually the driest, and they seem to be less damaged and have less obvious split ends. I would absolutely continue to use this product, and will rebuy! The only thing I didn’t love is the packaging – the pump on my bottle didn’t really work, and had a hard time getting any amount of product out. I don’t know if it was just mt bottle or a design flaw, but I ended up switching the pump with another bottles I have with a thicker tube, and have not had any problems since.RoseyB37

First off I thought this was like a thick lotion or cream and no, it is not.. so you’re gonna have to buy a squirt bottle or a mister of some type to go along with this product.  when you shake the bottle it sounds like water but giiiiirl it is not! I freaking love this and it’s a must have!!!! I let it dry into my hair after showering and it makes brushing easier.. I’ve also noticed my hair is in better condition!! I've used this product several times since my purchase and I've found it to be a terrific product! I typically use it before applying Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment. Also, I use it for routine cleansing of my hair. It yields a soft and healthy texture. Since using these products, I've also been using the complete line of Aphogee Keratin Products. I like this leave in conditioner it has a water like consistency. It has almost a fruity pineapple scent. It doesnt moisturize my hair but It is also an additional heat protection so it makes my life easier to not constantly try to buy a seperate heat protectant for styling. It doesnt do much hydration at all but it does the job for a tiny extra bit of moisture. If youre someone that has low perosity hair i don’t recommend as it doesnt have much hydration properties at all but maybe for someone who has an oily scalp and want a more lightweight product this may be the one for you. Overall I recommend this because it is a two in one as the heat protectant is a plus to the product.monica.a

This really is a 'Brilliant' shampoo. If you want squeaky clean, nicely scented hair, I have never come across anything better (& there's many years' experience of trying hundreds of others)! It works so well, seems to get rid of all the products I use for styling etc and the squeak, I am sure you could hear from the other side of the bathroom! I always return to this product even when I've tried some even more upmarket shampoo but my hair never feels really clean unless I've used Brilliant shampoo. Am not very keen on the Brilliant Conditioner, however, which just doesn't work for my fine hair. NB I have no connection with the makers of this product! I can't believe how many reviewers say they actually like the smell of this product. Maybe mine is a bad batch? But the smell is so bad it makes me so nauseous. It just smells like baby oil and herbs but sooo strong it's unbearable. I regret buying this and which I had a sample first. I used it only once and had to rewash my hair because the smell lingered. Just way too strong. The condition smells terrible too, but not AS strong as the shampoo, and the conditioner works okay, but I got the cherry almond instead. I hate strong smells I wish it had more of a subtle, more floral or feminine smell to it. It is just such a weird smelling shampoo. I used this shampoo and conditioner for years, only changed because I started coloring my hair. I quit coloring my hair and was very excited to start using the Brilliant line again. Sad to say…it doesn't smell as wonderful as it used to! I loved the shine, softness and the beautiful smell it left in my hair but it's definitely not as amazing as it was! I'm disappointed so I'm not sure I'm going to keep it, I also herd they changed Aveda products and I'm afraid that could be the issue. Broken hearted:(. Well, super bummed. I liked the light scent. It doesn't smell "good" but not bad either and it doesn't linger so I don't care about that. First time I used, literally thought I forgot to rinse conditioner out. So I washed next day (usually only wash twice a week). My hair was fine, but seemed a bit heavy. Used it yesterday without the conditioner this time because I used a hair mask (which I've been using for years). Could tell immediately when rinsing the mask my hair felt really weird. Then again today everything but the top most layer is a weird filmy greasy mess! So it's not just the conditioner, but the shampoo. It leaves a gross film on my hair making it super greasy. I have an oilier scalp but I can still go days between washes. This stuff somehow has the strands extremely oily! Will definitely return this one. DO NOT BUY THIS product, IT WILL DRY OUT YOUR HAIR. – I'm not too sure why this was given the name "hydrating shampoo". I have curly hair and live in the Southwest region of the USA. Hot, dry climate + curls = extra dry hair. I purchased this along with the condition with the hopes of going for a cruelty free, vegan brand that could nourish my locks in time for summer – I was let down and then some. DO NOT buy this product. After one wash, my hair was left brittle with zero definition, and that's with applying my usual styling oil and VERB curl creme. I'm an Ulta employee and I decided to try this when we first got it in our location. I tried the Ghost line's kit and it just wasn't for me (I feel that it weighed my hair down a bit but my hair is really finicky) so I was afraid to try the hydration line. My hair isn't super fine but it's also not really thick, just kinda in the middle, but I have A LOT of hair. I used to get a full highlight every three months for 8 years before deciding to dye it darker. My hair is a little damaged to say the least and it's pretty dry. I tried the shampoo and conditioner, and was surprised at how nice the shampoo lathered despite being sulfate free. Over time I noticed that my hair didn't fade as quickly as when I used my bumble and bumble line. My hair felt healthier and hydrated, but without any weird residue, texture, or weigh down. I am in love with Pureology Smooth Perfection Shampoo! This is my first time trying Pureology and I had no idea what to expect. The first thing I noticed about the smooth perfection shampoo was the scent, I loved the hints of cocoa. Upon first application I decided to use a small amount and I am glad I did, a little bit goes a long way with this shampoo. I have really long hair and I only had to use a quarter size amount or less. I want to point out that I always have to use a handful of shampoo when I use my usual drugstore brand, so I was shocked by how little I had to use of the pureology. I massaged the shampoo in my hair for a good 1 to 2 minutes and then proceeded to wash it out. My hair felt so soft and clean without feeling stripped at all. I typically have a lot of fallout when I wash my hair, but noticed less strands of hair coming out while washing. I followed up by using the pureology smooth perfection conditioner. I also use a quarter size amount or less and it was more than enough. I focused this conditioner at the ends of my hair and put whatever was leftover on my roots. I let the conditioner sit for the recommend time of 1 to 2 minutes and then proceeded to wash it out. I felt like it took no time to wash all of the conditioner out. My hair was less tangled and overall felt so much healthier than what I am used to. I used the smoothing lotion on the ends of my hair, blow dried my hair and was so amazed by the end result. The end result after I blow dried and straightened my hair was incredible. My hair was less frizzy and more straight making it so easy to straighten. I would like to add that my hair is very wavy/curly and frizzy after washing. The price for the Pureology Smooth Perfection set is a bit expensive, but honestly it is worth every penny. I got this product complimentary from Influenster and Pureology for my honest review. I really loved how this product worked for my hair. It left it so smooth and silky. It lathered really nicely and felt great when I washed it. It also rinsed out nice and easy and left my scalp feeling great. When I blew my hair dry it was like silk. Absolutely fabulous! Only negative, which I was REALLY surprised about, was the scent of this product. It was not pleasant at all to me and not something like I’ve ever smelled in a shampoo. I didn’t like it and for me that is important in a shampoo. I have other Pureology products and love their scents. it’s just this one that I couldn’t tolerate. Otherwise, I love how the product works, but due to the scent I would not buy this product. Sorry but it’s just my honest opinion. I received this product from influencer pureology, but all opinions are completely my own. I have enjoyed using this shampoo. I find that the combination of the shampoo conditioner does help smooth my long hair and does really help smooth frizz. The shampoo cleanes hair great, good lather though it can make hair feel only slightly stripped. Conditioner is a nice one that helps smooth but doesn't overdo it and cause hair to feel heavy. Both help cleanse and Condition my hair without feeling too dry or too weighed down. The heat protectant from this line is nice and I feel it helps smooth hair and help make it somewhat softer. It doesn't help much with tangles though. Overall a good smoothing system that helps with frizz. I would recommend anyone trying it out.shona.d

Incredible experience with this WOW Shampoo Apple Cider Vinegar and Virgin Coconut + Avocado Conditioner. I applied Shampoo an I let it act for 5 minutes, gently massaging the root. I rinsed thoroughly and then applied the conditioner and let it act on the driest parts of my hair for 3 minutes. What's the result? WOW, a thousand times WOW…! I took a chance years ago! My frizz is under control just by shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels LIGHT (not weighed down by other frizz products). My breakage and hair loss is very minimum compared to ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE breakage and hair loss before using WOW! I’ll use this shampoo/conditioner combo forever! It’s def worth the Little extra cost compared to other shampoos that do absolutely nothing but harm to my hair! The smell isn’t overpowering yet still smells clean! This shampoo is a dream for anyone w/ long hair! First, it cleans thoroughly w/out stripping your hair of natural & needed healthy oils. It's gentle while still cleansing. Second, it helps fight all kinds of problems like hair loss, dandruff, dry hair, etc… Third, you do not need to use a conditioner! I have long hair that loves to tangle, especially when wet. Since this shampoo doesn't strip your hair the way others do, I can run my brush thru my wet hair easily, w/ no snarls! It's as if I used a conditioner! If I could rate this product 10 stars I absolutely would. My only major complaint about this product is that it is a very expensive for its size. I know you can purchase larger bottles through a salon retailer if the salon will let you do it but I don't understand why you cannot buy this in a larger size. With that said, this product is hands-down by far my favorite shampoo ever. I have extremely long, thick, coarse, wavy hair. My hair is always in need of extra moisture / hydration. So whenever I look for a product I look for something that is going to be nourishing. This line makes my hair feel so silky soft and smooth it is incredible. Also scents don't seem to stay in my hair for very long after shampooing but I can still smell the shampoo and conditioner well after blow drying which makes me even more obsessed. This product has really transformed and moisturized my hair which helps contribute to less frizz. The scent is also incredible. I can't describe it. It's just clean, fresh and exotic. Aside from the fact that this cost a small fortune for an incredibly small bottle, this is a sensational shampoo. I got this shampoo hoping to replace the Verb Ghost shampoo/conditioner I was using bc I’m boycotting products made in Israel now and I really love this shampoo and conditioner. Super moisturizing without weighing my hair down at all. It also makes my hair insanely shiny I love it. Also it smells great (and I’m not a fan of floral fragrance) I don’t understand the hate the scent gets, smells incredible to me. Only thing is that the packaging is sort of a pain but it’s okay because the product is that good that’s it’s easily worth it.krispiek

Davines is the best hair line around, period. Yes, its super pricey, but definitely worth it. Not only is it free from all of the bad stuff, the formulation really brings your hair to a whole new level of healthiness and vibrancy. The Davines conditioners last FOREVER. I use conditioner every day and you really only need a tiny but to get your hair conditioned. The shampoo goes a little bit quicker, but still lasts quite awhile. It is worth the money, trust me. It does have a scent to it, but because its all natural, the scent doesnt overpower, nor does it stay on your hair all day. Your hair will thank you. I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. By this time, my hair is usually an oily, flakey mess, but it is not now because of this shampoo! Will definitely splurge for the large bottle!sweetkiwi

Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. One day I thought, I should go to my supply store and try some myself. It worked after only 1 use ! Paul Mitchell has the Best professional products out there ! I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! For me personally, I think it works great and a lot of the negative comments here are from user error but that's just my opinion.Kelsey

I have been using the Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo for a month now. I really like the coconut scent, it lathers really well and I was very pleased that a little goes a long way as I have very long and thick hair. I wash my hair every 3rd day, but I wet my hair and condition it every day. I have been using the Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioner the 2nd day. I always use leave in conditioner but that day I had to use double the amount of what I normally use. Otherwise my hair felt & looked dry & frizzy. The product definitely did help with detangling my hair, not totally, but to a great enough degree where I was pleased. I didn’t notice any improvement in shine though. I was hoping to experience much more of an overall difference from all the various products I have used in the past. No huge noticeable difference, and more expensive than what I currently use. I love that Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo contain no silicones, parabens, no phathalates, no petrolatum & no mineral oil. However, I remembered, that I purchased this shampoo and matching hair masque. However, for the information on Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, the page is unavailable. My budget is tight at the moment, but I usually save up for what I need. I need the Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque. Therefore, to increase the benefits to my damaged hair I gathered a portion of the Curl and Shine Hair Masque and combined it with a hint of tea tree oil, fresh rosemary water, rose water, and peppermint oil. Leaving in my hair for 30 minutes. My hair texture is incredibly moist. I shall continue this mixture until I am able to locate and purchase the High Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, which I already know is perfect for the restoration of my hair. The chemical perm greatly damaged my hair, thinned my hair, and broke my hair off in places. So I really enjoyed using the product on both my baby girl and my own hair. Because we have very very different hair types, I noticed some important things. She has a healthy head of very fine, very varied coil curls. The shampoo worked great on very wet hair, it lathered well for a clarifying shampoo without turning her hair into dry grass. I rinsed twice to make sure the water ran well and clear. The conditioner was light and moisturizing, as promoted. I took the time to work it into all strands while damp to slightly wet with a curly hair wet brush. Afterward rinsing the conditioner lightly, I put in the styling cream. Here I realized I'd put in way too much, but the effect was still very good. Her curls were less prone to tangling, moisturized and made beautiful defined coils. My hair is fine but wavy, not curly. However my hair is super dry. I like using heavily moisturizing products from time to time to feed my hair. The products were too heavy for fine straighter hair, but it really moisturized heavily. My hair has a healthy strong feel and a beautiful glisten that it has after a moisturizing hair mask. Overall, on straighter finer hair, I'd say use the conditioner thoroughly but rinse very well and easy on the styling cream. I didn't experience any waxiness anywhere.Thali22

I have an oily scalp with wavy waist length thick hair (many thin/low porosity strands). Color treated blonde. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. That being said, transitioning into warmer, humid spring/summer weather, I’m really pleased to have found this product. It’ll be great for clean summer hair.jessicaeve1023

For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. Anyway I totally recommend this set and if you're getting greasy hair from this set try the medium or fine hair set. This just probably isn't for your hair type. This is the best shampoo I have ever used! I received a sample of it in my subscription box and was amazed at the fact that it had more then one use in it! The shampoo spread nicely which is why there was more then one use in it. I have long hair too! It made my hair soft and shiny and healthy looking! It's hard to do that with my dry, brittle hair. It is quite expensive but worth every penny and then some. I always purchase in bulk when I get my taxes so I will have enough for the entire year. This has been my favorite shampoo since my sister gifted it to me last Christmas. I have ordered it several times since then and it’s just wow every single time. I have always struggled with frizzy hair, which make any styling look like a half-job. The LOVE line is excellent at keeping the frizz under control without making the hair heavy. I found this on my last trip @ Sally’s and I was originally going in for the Zotos No Poo shampoo for curls, but noticed this right next to it! I remember Wella being a pretty decent mid range brand and the last time I tried this it had “diamond dust” in it and it smelled delicious // this looks revamped with Lime Caviar which idk what it really means but it’s cute lol 😂 I’ll take it reminds me of the brand, Alterna and their brand is all about Anti Aging hair care + Caviar everything 🔥🔥🥰🥰 // this new version smells different but still great it’s a light scent, not heavy at all. I got this product in travel size from an ulta blind bag with the conditioner a while ago . I used this on a whim for travel and was completely hooked !!! I have PCOS which causes me to have an extremely oily scalp that has dandruff / buildup. I have tried probably 100s of shampoos . Paul Mitchell tea tree , organix ,biólage , selson blue , head and shoulders and even a prescription shampoo along with many more and none of them have helped control my oily scalp and are usually extremely drying on my hair causing breakage and lots of frizz . Ever since I switched to this shampoo my scalp feels so clean and my oil has drastically reduced to the point where I can wait 2-3 days between washes ! I have been using the shampoo and conditioner combo for fine hair every 2-3 days for about 10 years. It was excellent until they changed the formula 1 year ago?? Now, I can't stand the scent, it is so strong!! I exchanged it once because i thought it was expired but, no, i guess that was the new scent. Performance wise, it is not as moisturizing and I also find myself using a lot more of it to get the shampoo to foam and for the conditioner to make my hair feel soft. I got highlights in my hair in May and since then, my hair has been the driest it's ever been. I had tried so many different masks, shampoos, conditioners and nothing was working. I would get out of the shower and my hair would be in knots so bad that if I tried to brush it, my brush would get stuck and if I tried to pull, I would loose dozens of strands of hair in one tug. My hair had never been like that and I was panicking. I knew that highlights required maintenance but it wasn't until nexxus that I found a combo that worked for me. I was hesitant to use this shampoo after smelling it, but the reviews are amazing. My hair wasn't damaged, but I could use the extra healthy moisture from this shampoo. After my first use, I noticed my hair felt dryer and almost crispy. I had just colored my hair the day before, so I figured it was that. I used it again 2 days later and it was worse, I now have split ends. I'm working on growing my hair out after damaging and buzzing it off a year ago, so I do not want to have to trim it. I'm using tons of split end mending products now to fix what this shampoo did. Maybe it's too strong for my hair? Well I usually look at ingredient labels, but after seeing reviews of not only this product, but the whole Nexxus line, I thought it wouldn't matter. This is a really nice silky hydrating leave in conditioner. I like to use it after the shampoo and mask from the same line and I love how it makes my hair feel and look. I apply this from mid to ends and comb and style as usual. It leaves my hair soft and shiny without being too heavy. It has some of my favorite nourishing ingredients like argan oil and marula oil. Just like the shampoo, it has a slight lower PH which is what I look for in hair care products since they hydrate but are less damaging. It’s perfect for every day hydration and helps a lot with frizz control, especially on thick wavy hair like mine! I just love the moisture I get from the Drunk Elephant Silkamino Mega-Moisturizing Shampoo for my hair and my scalp loves it too! This really is a deeply moisturizing shampoo I truly feel my hair gets plenty of moisture and feels healthier with use, looks shinier, softer too, and even stronger. It does a great job too at deep cleansing away all my product buildup I have in my hair from all the hair products I use which is a plus, plus dirt, sweat, and oils too it cleanses away. What I like is that soothes my scalp too which is something I was looking for while also looking for something with all these other properties so this shampoo really does it all and my scalp does feel so much better and healthier too! This shampoo has a nice thick formula so all you need is a little to lather up so it’ll last you a long time and I only use a small amount on my past below my shoulders wavy bleached hair. I’ve also noticed my hair is more manageable with less frizz due to the great moisturizing effect and how it is free of all the bad ingredients I’m sure plays a role. Highly recommend!Vmuller2

My hair is complicated. I have what I call a white girl fro and it is not pretty! And this is not to be slanderous in any way whatsoever! My hair literally sticks out like a lions main when I first dry it! So not kidding!!!! And yes I use a brush because if I don't, it's even worse! My hair stylist suggested this product but, I was very hesitant because I have tried so many different products and wasted a lot of money doing so. I'm so glad I tried this! My hair can be fixed to be straight or fixed to be curly. Either way is a lot of work. This product along with a matching shampoo, all from Eleven Australia, my hair has been so much easier to fix and maintain! My hair feels healthier and doesn't feel weighted down at all. With my hair type, whatever you want to call it, frizzes so bad when it's raining or just humid, with just this line of product, the frizz is so much less than ever before. Even if I start to get a little warm, my hair previously would would start frizzing up, especially at the crown. Now it very seldom ever happens, if it gets wet(caught in rain or splashed) there's nothing that will stop that! I recommend this line to everyone I know!
