This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. I don’t need a huge amount of it to get my hair untangled, and when I do brush through it I barely have any tangles at all. It’s also very gentle on my hair and the smell is light and not overpowering. So impressed with this product and very glad to have found it. Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. Delicious! Smells so good! I bought it to control frizz in my wavy hair. I am using in conjunction with the Curls & Waves Styling Creme and it is a nice combo for soft hair. Got this first trial and I am really impressed by this. Had this for a week putting on and letting it sit for couple of minutes, then washed it off. The flakes have seems to have gone away. Goes great with an after conditioner. The smell is great and has given great results. I haven't seen any dandruff in a while. I have never tried this brand before and was expecting the color to be blue which doesn't matter just something I expected. With my first use, I expected a bit more substance as I squirted it in my hand and I quickly realized I needed more to get a good lather going on top my head. I am a male with very short hair and a quarter-sized squirt of many shampoos is good enough for me but definitely had to almost double the squirt of Selsun Blue. When I began using this I didn't currently have any dandruff or visible flakes. I was just at the beginning stage of this winters harsh dry air giving me a random twinge here and there on my scalp that I have come to recognize every year as the onset of dry, itchy scalp and the dreaded dandruff if left untreated. This shampoo made my dandruff disappear within a week. It’s fast, efficient and cost effective . I used it on my bleach blonde hair without it stripping my color . It conditioned well, however I would recommend you still conditioning your hair with your favorite conditioner for a smoother less tangly look. I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! For me personally, I think it works great and a lot of the negative comments here are from user error but that's just my opinion.Kelsey

Incredible experience with this WOW Shampoo Apple Cider Vinegar and Virgin Coconut + Avocado Conditioner. I applied Shampoo an I let it act for 5 minutes, gently massaging the root. I took a chance years ago! My frizz is under control just by shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels LIGHT (not weighed down by other frizz products). My breakage and hair loss is very minimum compared to ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE breakage and hair loss before using WOW! I’ll use this shampoo/conditioner combo forever! This shampoo is a dream for anyone w/ long hair! First, it cleans thoroughly w/out stripping your hair of natural & needed healthy oils. It's gentle while still cleansing. Second, it helps fight all kinds of problems like hair loss, dandruff, dry hair, etc… Third, you do not need to use a conditioner! I have long hair that loves to tangle, especially when wet. This product truly saved my scalp. I know that sounds dramatic but it is the truth. My scalp itched and flaked for years and the typical dandruff shampoos seemed to make things worse. I tried tea tree oil and even apple cider vinegar shampoos- they seemed to help a little bit. I really thought I was going to have to go to a doctor over it. Then I found this product and figured I had nothing to lose. After 1-2 uses my scalp quit itching and there were no flakes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING THE SHAMPOO BY ITSELF. This is an excellent natural anti-dandruff treatment that leaves my scalp looking and feeling clean and fresh. I always follow up with my usual conditioner for added hydration as my hair is long and thick, but think that it would work well as an all-in-one product for some. the scent is quite strong, but I find that it doesn't really linger on the hair. I had very dry scalp patches on my crown and near the temples for many months. The flaking was like a snow blizzard. I first tried apple cider vinegar but it helped very little. But within hours of washing, my scalp would become itchy and massively flaky again. Next, I used Nizoral for a month to see if there were any fungal sources of this problem. It resolved some itchiness, but I still had incredibly dry and flaky patches that were mildly itchy. Finally, I turned to JASON and after a few weeks of use, everything calmed down 90%. I resolved the remaining 10% of dryness with tamanu oil also bought on iHerb (rub it in with fingers and let sit for 10 minutes before getting into the shower). I like the 2-in-1 feature because it seemed to be less stripping for the dry patches. If you don't like to use the oil, you could apply a little face cream which also seems to help.iHerb Customer

I've been using this for about a year now, and so far it's done well in every season. I have long fine hair, and it doesn't weigh it down or dry it out. I do use Jack Blacks hair and scalp conditioner (the green bottle) with it, after reading reviews of other people with fine hair using it, so that could also be why it doesn't dry out my hair. I find I can go one extra day without the need to wash my hair due to dandruff with this. Before I tried most brands and none worked, or would only temporarily keep dandruff away for 2 days max, or weigh down my hair. So relieved to find this. I do keep it on for the full few minutes as recommended, and do a thorough lather in sections so every bit of my scalp gets this shampoo. When I have to rush I find it doesn't work as well, so be sure to keep it on for 2+ minutes!Jess

Since I don't have dandruff (and have never indicated that I do) I was a little surprised to get this shampoo to review. I've used Biolage products before, though, so I figured it would probably be decent. The shampoo is VERY foamy. Usually, I stick to sulfate-free shampoo to preserve my brightly colored hair, so I am NOT used to that much lather! And of course, the introduction of sulfates means it did help to fade my hair quite a bit. (I chose to use this as an opportunity to do a shade change.) My dry scalp is happy and doesn't feel "tight" after washing. The fragrance is powerful but pleasant; I enjoy a scented shower. I don't know that I'd ever purchase this, because I do not have dandruff and because of the sulfites.catherine.o

I enjoyed this shampoo and after using it for several weeks, I think it's good at being a keeping the dandruff at bay. I've struggled with an oily, flaky scalp for years and this has made a huge difference. I generally try to wash my hair every other day to maintain a decent look (wfh life) but depending on life, it can get stretched to two. If it goes to a third, it would be because I am positive I'm not going to be seen in public. With this shampoo, I could probably throw my hair on a ponytail feel okay on public, it's thay effective at keeping the oil and dandruff at bay. The shampoo itself is white, not too thick or thin, and feels slightly refreshing with the mint. It lathers well and helps my hair feel clean without being stripped. Kerakera products are great, but this product, in particular, is also great for low porosity natural hair. I use this product with a little bit of cold-pressed olive oil and a detangling conditioner. I mix all three together and I put in my hair like a mask and I sit under my hairdryer and Baby…… when I tell you my hair feels like butta… It really does feel nice. I have low-porosity hair. Another tidbit of information for you naturals out there, if you are struggling to find the detangling conditioner that has easy slip, the ingredient that you want to look for on the back of the bottle is called "Behentrimonium chloride". I have anxiety at might that makes me scratch my head, and then the next day I have to deal with the itchiness of my broken scalp and try not to make it worse. I decided I had to try a soothing shampoo because i was really suffering and it was keeping me from sleeping. Keracare really helped the itchiness, but I cant use it regularly because it leaves a really yucky residue on my hair. Its totally worth it when Im super itchy but I wouldnt use it preventatively because of that. I also didnt have dandruff, just itchiness, so I cant speak for how well it handles that. I'd give a 4.75 ⭐ rating, if possible. I've used this a lot, but I do still use a rich conditioner afterwards. Being careful to only use a thin layer of excess conditioner (from when I apply it to the ends) on my scalp, and on my hair from the ears up. I do first apply a generous amount from the ears down. This one does actually gives some moisture to the hair too. I'm not big on using 2 in 1 hair formulas, but I always try them without conditioner a couple times to see if they actually impart any conditioner qualities to the hair. This one does, but not enough for my hair. My hair is oily from the bangs area to eyeball level, then within hours to ear level. But, I have dry textured hair from that level, all the way down to the ends. This is not too expensive, easy to find, and it works very well for me! I do also purchase the Dollar General generic versions of this one and the classic formula too. I recommend this if you get dandruff! It's gentle enough to use daily, if needed too. If your hair is oily, you could probably get by without using an additional conditioner too.amanda.h

Back in 2007, I lost my mother on October 18th at 11am. She died from C.O.P.D, Cirrhosis of the Liver, and Emphysema. The only time I use this Brand is if I have problems with irritation on my scalp and have really bad dandruff. The Shampoo and Conditioner works really well getting rid of those issues. You usually have to use these products in a row for a few times and days. I would say ruffle 3 – 4 times on separate occasions. Irritation on the scalp and dandruff can be annoying, You usually have these problems because the products you're usually in your hair is irritating your scalp. Or you have product build up, Or your not washing the Shampoo or Conditioner out of your hair good enough. If your hair is itchy or you see these white looking flakes in your hair, Then you know you have dandruff or irritation. Another reason why you might have this issue is you might be washing your hair too many times per week. I wash my hair at least twice a week, I still bathe in between washes. Your scalp is made out of skin, Like your face. We all know what happens when you wash your face, It gets clean but dry and tight at the same time. I know that there's Dry Shampoo and now also Dry Conditioner to use in between washing your hair but I have found out that I can't use those products in my hair because it causes irritation and dandruff. Head and Shoulders have been on the market for a very long time, It's also a trusted brand too. I would actually have these products on hand as a back up, Along with what you like to use on the side. I really need Head Shoulders to come out with different scents, I really like the scent of the Apple kind, and I think that there's two other options. As someone who has an itchy, flaky, sensitive and oily scalp and thick black hair, I can assure you finding a shampoo that can tackle all of the above a difficult task. With that being said, my experience with Head & Shoulders’ new Dry Scalp Care formulation has definitely done the trick. I’ve seen a definite reduction on flakes and my scalp hasn’t had an itch that needed to be scratched. Mind you, I used to love H&S back in the day, but either the formulation changed or my sensitivity levels changed, I couldn’t use H&S anymore, until now. I am glad to say that I’m converted over to their new Dry Scalp formulation. While it still has SLS, it’s not over drying and it doesn’t strip the hair of its natural oils. With that being said, my hair still feels soft and clean after every rinse. My scalp doesn’t feel irritated nor does it tingle when it comes into contact with broken skin from unconsciously scratching a little too much and a little too hard. Accompanied with the Conditioner, my hair feels soft, nourished after every wash and my scalp is better off. Though my scalp is loving it now, who knows how it’ll react later down the track and with winter around the corner, my scalp’s condition could be worse… regardless, I’m grateful to have been a part of the REVIEWCREW and get the opportunity to try Head & Shoulders’ new Dry Scalp Care range, because I definitely wouldn’t have taken the plunge if I saw it at the shops. I was so excited to try the new head and shoulders smooth and silky shampoo as I had previously used it before, now it is labeled with up to 100% dandruff reduction and was very happy there was also another label with stating that 0% Phosphates, Parabens and Parrafins were added I could only anticipate the results would be fantastic but was also intrigued to see if the forumla delivered the same results without the nasties. The packinging looks beautiful with a big pretty pink flower on the front. When I open the lid and sniffed the product and it smells beautiful I just used the size of a 50 Cent piece amount into my palm as I have very thick hair I need a fair amount it foamed up very well which I like. Are use the shampoo twice as I always do two washes and it worked very well then I followed through with the new conditioner that goes with the shampoo. I love how there is a how to use description on the back of the label also that it says to use 3 days a week there’s never been a recommendation on how many days to use the product before I really like that tip. My scalp has has been very dry, itchy and flaky for quite sometime due to climate, stress and other factors sometimes it’s very minimal other times when I brush my hair or even so much as adjust my scrunchy I have to obsessively check over my tee’s that it is clear. After use my hair felt nice and clean, itch and visible flake free and was also really soft and manageable. It was a great piece of mind having flake free hair and not having to always check my clothes that all was clear. I have used the previous version of the smooth and silky conditioner before and was excited to try this. It is now labelled that you can have up to 100% dandruff reduction And also that it contains 0% phosphates parabens and parrafins which is really amazing. I also like how there are now instructions on the back of the bottle and recommended to use 3 times per week. The scent is s a nice and sweet floral, the colour is white and the consistency is thick. After using the head and shoulders smooth and silky conditioner out of my hair my hair felt so silky smooth it had no not when I brushed it and was very manageable the style I would recommend this anyone that has dandruff but also may have other hair contains such as thick or frizzy hair like myself because it does both jobs in the one conditioner. After using the head and shoulder smooth and silky conditioner after the shampoo my hair felt nice and clean, itch and visible flake free and was also really soft and manageable. As a Black male, it's tough to find a major brand that makes their products with our hair in mind. Most shampoos & conditioners can damage our hair and make it brittle and tough, even cause it to fall out sometimes. Well, Royal Oils is a welcomed change. I've been using it in my routine for a little while now and I'm noticing a little shine to my hair and beard. My hair is soft, moisturized, and I haven't seen a single flake from a dry scalp since I started using it! First and foremost, I think it's important to note that this product may have been made for people of color primarily in mind. For me, it's the name, the ingredients, and even the fragrance that brings that to mind. Customarily, I use Head & Shoulder's 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner product on my curly and coily hair for ease as well as to treat my dandruff problem. The Royal Oil shampoo has a similar texture as the aforementioned product, but with a smell that is light, yet musky. It's very refreshing! On rinsing it off, I find my head feels smooth, not waxy as some other shampoos leave your hair feeling. The conditioner feels like lotion when applied and doesn't appear to spread well. After leaving it in your hair for a while, however, I was surprised to notice how the product seemed to foam on my head making it much easier to rinse off. This too, of course, has the same refreshingly musky fragrance as its companion. I would definitely recommend giving this product as being fit for the king/queen in your life!Amacito

After having my daughter in Dec 2020 I struggled my dandruff when I never had it in my life. It was soo bad I never wanted to have my hair down I was VERY subconscious about it. I wasn’t sure what product to use I was using other daily shampoo and was making my hair fall out like crazy and dandruff was still VERY bad! Then I came across this shampoo and I started using it the day I bought it haven’t seen as much flakes as before then my 2nd time using it no flakes were really visible. Every winter I made sure to have a bottle of Selsun Blue! I have very dry sensitive skin that is worsened by the cold weather. This is reflected on my scalp which ends up being dry and flaky. I use Selsun Blue about once a week to keep flakes at bay and my scalp-itch free. It doesn't seem to irritate my sensitive skin at all too!! Gentle and it works. On another note, my husband's doctor recommended Sulsun Blue for a fungus infection that he had on his skin from being so hot and sweaty from doing construction and it works for that too!! 10/10 product!melissa.p

So I don't have dandruff. I have to share how else this product is good! I developed chin acne from wearing a mask this year. They were these little bumps and they were so excessive. I tried usual a acne treatments, changing my diet, yadda yadda. My sister had the same thing going on with her. She went to a esthetician and they told her its fungal acne! They told her to purchase this and use it as a face mask….. wet your face, apply a small lather, leave on for 3 minutes tops, and rinse. Use this treatment 2 a week until your acne is gone. Her acne was gone in about 2 weeks. So I gave it a try, I was desperate! I did it 4 days in a row, an I let it sit for longer than 3 minutes. Chapped my skin… I spent days trying to treat it and neutralize it. I then tried this again, but followed direction. The acne went away completely. My chin is finally cleared. So my suggestion is, follow the directions haha.. but seriously, Selsun Blue Moisturizing shampoo works for fungal acne. If you are desperate I would give it a try. Those hair follicles on your face need healing sometimes, and this helps. Shaving it off won't do justice either, FYI…pamela.r

My scalp has been flaky and itchy and my stylist suggested that I try a tea tree shampoo. I've used some other Eden products before so I decided to give this a try. Eden BodyWorks peppermint tea tree oil shampoo is nothing short of amazing. I have been using this shampoo since it was introduced into the market. It's perfect for itchy, dandruff prone scalps. It thoroughly cleanses the scalp without drying out the hair and has a pleasant menthol smell and leaves you with a comfortably tingly feeling after use. I've used this shampoo both while natural and relaxed so I can personally testify that texture doesn't matter, it gets the job done for sure! Edenbody works is amazing for the price. This is an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G shampoo! I have been using this product for a few weeks now. My initial purchase was for five bottles of shampoo because a review stated that the bottles were small. I found this 8 ounce bottle to be the perfect in size and below is the actual bottle measurements. I purchased this shampoo because, for the past several years I have been experiencing dry scalp patches, itchiness, and flaking. I had tried Selsun Blue and also T/Sal therapeutic shampoo and nothing worked until I washed my hair in this Eden Bodyworks Peppermint Tree shampoo for the very first time! Using the shampoo my hair felt like a cloud, now no I've never touch a cloud but I imagine it's quite soft and fluffy. Now don't get me wrong I'm a garnier girl at heart and no I'm not going to switch out my maoke syrup shampoo for this yet completely but its s definite kicker. Love how my hair felt after the very however I think an ingredient in it awoke my dandruff, disaster. This probably happened because I decided to dive into the line using nothing but pink lemonade my hair probably couldn't handle the drastic change. Who knows definitely not me all ik is I'm back on sulphur8 hoping to take this beast once again. For the conditioner I didn't find it to have much slip for detangling, I didn't have an issue as once my hair gets water it detangles but more slip needed. For the 5 minute mask ofc I never leave it for 5 mins probably 30 tbh. It's not as good as the garnier 5 minute mask that's for sure but it does it's job.thea.q

This is really fantastic shampoo. My hair has been really prone to getting tangled lately and since I've been using this shampoo it's been much easier to comb. It's also one of the few shampoos that entirely gets rid of my frizz. My hair stays very soft for days afterwards. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars is because it isn't available in a bigger bottle like most brands have. Most brands have a regular size bottle and a 'jumbo' size one. My hair is down to my hips so it doesn't take long for me go through a bottle (usually about two weeks or so). I would love to have a bigger size so I don't have to constantly go out and buy it.DLS

I purchased this from from other store many moons ago and I liked it. it was sulfate free, foams well, rinses off clean, cleanse and cools the scalp and has mint & rosemary oil which I like for my scalp. This is somewhat a repeat purchase but I am disappointed when I look at the ingredients list; it has been reformulated!!!! Even the descriptions and wordings have changed slightly. It used to say "formulated without sulfate". Now it says "formulated without sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate", because this new formulation is using sodium coco-sulfate which is identical to sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate😂. I'm going to wash my toilet bowl with this sodium coco-SULFATE shampoo and forget it ever existed. There's nothing wrong with sulfate.I just prefer a good sulfate free shampoo. I have ongoing dry, itchy, flaky scalp issues that are more annoying than severe. This smells pleasant and has a light tingle. My hair felt softer, better and more manageable after use. I did get quick results after the first use so I definitely would recommend it to those on the fence about this product. Effective and affordable. I would repurchase it again too.iHerb Customer

This shampoo has a very drying formula with two short chain i.e. "bad" alcohols that cause dryness. It's advertised "no harsh sulfates" yet a sulfate is the fourth ingredient (hence the generous lather.) and another further down the list. I bought without reviewing the ingredients but after i noticed both my bf's and my own hair was increasingly dry, poofy, and more prone to tangles, i looked at the ingredients closer. I won't be purchasing this again or any other shampoo from the Avalon line though the scents are nice and natural and the big lather makes hair feel squeaky (too!!) clean. The scent does not read as either tea tree or pure mint to me, but a nice light grassy floral scent.sayeo

I've used every shampoo brand out there and this is "the one". I suffer from problem scalp- itchy and greasy and this deeply cleanses whilst giving my strands an amazing shine and body. Even though i have wavy thick hair, i don't need to use a separate conditioner. Please never discontinue!Gul

This shampoo used to be my all time favourite. Gentle on my scalp, pampering my hair and the smell was just a divine. The new formula smells like any other citrusy shampoo, makes my scalp flakey and hair harsh and dry. Very sad to lose my hair best friend.Liina

For fans of the original this has changed. Out has gone the beautiful creamy texture and caramel and vanilla scent and instead no fragrance and a drying effect. Clearly cheaper ingredients are being used. So disappointed. Wont be purchasing again.William P.
