I have an oily scalp with wavy waist length thick hair (many thin/low porosity strands). Color treated blonde. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. I am m not sure what magical ingredients go into this, but the products have transformed my hair. I was forever searching for my "holy grail" shampoo and conditioner and nothing ever 'wowed' me. I have been buying Dove shampoo and conditioner for many years from Sam's. Dove has changed the smell and the formula. My hair actually looks oily after I blow it dry. I have fine thin hair and the old formula always worked well for me. My hair would blow out to be light and bouncy. This new formula just weighs it down. We placed a delivery order recently with Wal*Mart a few items were delivered from our local store. They left the order at our door left before we realized it was the wrong order. I was able to try this product in exchange for review, which I was thrilled about as I have always wanted to try this particular Shea Moisture line. I have heavily highlighted and have attacked it quite regularly with hot tools. Add in pandemic self-done haircuts, my hair has been feeling rather dry and brittle. After two weeks of using this shampoo, twice a week, My hair feels moisturised but perhaps a little too much so. For my particular hair, I cannot use this is my go-to shampoo, but more as a twice a month or so treatment shampoo. The texture is not like any I have tried before, it is a semi-viscus liquid that pours out like a watery honey, not at all like a standard shampoo, so pay attention in the shower! The smell is a comforting warm vanilla. For my hair this product is a little too moisturising to use with every wash, but if you have coarser hair than mine, I definitely say give it a whirl. I will repeat purchase, as this shampoo does strengthen & restore my hair due effective natural components: Jamaican Black Castor oil, Fair Trade Shea Butter & Peppermint. It's sulfate-free, eligible for colored hair, by the way. The scent is really extremely pleasant like parfume for hair. My man loves the aroma & makes compliments. The only minus that I detected is that as It nourishes hair, my hair becomes one day ahead in comparison with other shampoos with cleaning leading role, not restoring. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. I have naturally curly unruly coloured treated for decades hair that I use hairdryer & straighteners on. I further abuse my hair by swimming outdoors a lot over tge summer in the sunshine. I was a big Aveda Smooth Infusion fan until I finally listened to my Tony & Guy hairdresser & started using these Olaplex products to repair my badly treated hair & maintain the colour. I am now an Olaplex convert. My hair condition instantly improved after one wash, it smooths my hair better than Aveda Smooth Infusion. I bought this for my wife and she use this with the No 0, No 3, and the No 5. I must say the combo of these together is amazing. Her hair was pretty much destroyed frome excessive styling, blow drying and box dyes. We could totally tell a difference after just one use of these products together. Her hair looks healthier, has more shine and manageability, doesn't look as damaged, she isn't yanking out knots when she wakes up and brushes her hair plus it just feels so soft and looks smooth not frizzy. It seems like the texture, strength, and even the way her hair is laying is totally changing. The smells not over powering which is something we both love because sometimes hair fragrances clash with perfumes but not Olaplex it's perfectly balanced. The bottles aren't the biggest which was kind of a let down but you don't need near as much as other shampoos so it seems like it will last just as long as a big bottle of regular shampoo. I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5. Since my hair is quite fine and thin I use the bond building treatment and hair perfecter 1-2 times a week for the past month. Honestly I am stunned at the results. Since it’s not a permanent fix but a treatment, you do have to continue using it. I did read somewhere that there’s no way for it to permanently fix your already damaged hair but it can definitely treat it while the damage grows out. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, there’s no apparent residue, and it felt healthier and looked healthier after only the first try and has consistently improved since. I’ve tried so many products that just seem to sit on top of my hair and reflect light instead of actually improving anything texturally. I was also stunned at the quality of the product, not just in effect but a little really does go a long way in each one of my products. It smells and feels amazing. I could clearly go on. I’m just so pleasantly stunned! I had read some very negative reviews and was prepared to just take a chance and I’m thrilled and impressed with the results. I received the Pureology Hydrate Sheer products from Influenster for review purposes and have been using the shampoo & conditioner combo for the past 2.5-3 weeks to give it a fair chance prior to reviewing. For reference I have fine, wavy hair that has considerable damage and split-ends from bleaching my hair every 3 months as well as pretty regular use of hot tools/blowdryer. Therefore, I'm in desperate need of hydrating/repairing products that also don't weigh down my fine hair. As for the Hydrate Sheer Shampoo, it's a decent shampoo and gets the job done. A little bit goes a long way, it lathers very nicely and it rinses out easily. My hair is admittedly softer and hydrated after using the shampoo/conditioner pair together – however, I do NOT think this shampoo outperforms my regular favorite shampoos/conditioners from other high end brands – and at this price point I really do expect a higher quality product or at least a more noticable change after nearly 3 weeks of continued use. I wasn't a huge fan of the scent at first, but it did grow on me over time and now I quite enjoy the fragrance. Overall, it's a nice shampoo and I will continue to use the rest of the bottle, but I would not repurchase products from this line as I feel there are better performing shampoos out there for damaged hair at a more affordable price point.JillLo
I have been on a hair journey these past couple of years, including currently growing out my silvers. With this in mind, I expect my non-dyed hair to react differently to shampoos as it grows out more and more, but I have a ways to go still so this review is largely focusing on colored hair. I’ve tried different shampoos in the Pureology line before, and this one feels fairly par for the course. It does not have that endothermic minty coolness of other Pureology products, but it does leave my hair feeling clean. Some people have mentioned it made their hair feel immediately more brittle, but I didn’t notice that. Please note: This is a clarifying shampoo, so perhaps people mistook the removal of product build-up (and the damage that build-up causes) as the shampoo ‘causing brittleness.’ I did immediately follow with conditioner, and then utilized my typical post-wash oils/thermal protection products. My hair feels nice and I do notice nice volume for a couple of days. It’s not a miracle worker, obviously, it’s just a shampoo. You’re not going to get 80s hair from just a shampoo. I only wash my hair every two weeks, and this shampoo/conditioner line didn’t cause excess oil production that would make me need to wash more often, so that is a plus in my book. All this being said, I will likely keep this in rotation with my Olaplex, Oribe, Ouai, and Briogeo products.debra.r
I love the fact that this product is vegan and cruelty free, although it is owned by parent company L'Oreal that does test on animals. The packaging is supposedly made of 95% recycled plastic. Because I was aware of the claims that it contains menthol and burns some people's scalp, I tried my best to follow others' advice and put it mostly on the ends of my hair rather than rubbing it into the scalp. It definitely has a strong mint smell and I still felt a prominent cooling sensation after a few moments even though I avoided putting it on my scalp. The strong menthol combined with hot shower steam stung my eyes a bit so I can't even imagine what it would be like accidentally getting this in your eyes. I wasn't a huge fan of my hair smelling like mint while wet after the shower but the smell faded when my hair dried. After using both the shampoo and conditioner, my hair felt softer and shiny but not dramatically different than when I use drugstore products. I noticed some improvement in my hair's frizziness. Just like with the shampoo, I find this bottle difficult to open. I don't think I would personally purchase this product. But if you're a fan of mint-scented hair products, don't mind spending more money and would prefer a refreshing/revitalizing conditioner, then it might be for you.karolina .k

I took a chance years ago! My frizz is under control just by shampoo and conditioner. My hair feels LIGHT (not weighed down by other frizz products). This conditioner tames my son's kinky, curly hair. He's got thick, dry hair which tangles easily. We tried this and I get a comb out in about 3 minutes, and his hair is to the middle of his back! It's thick and rich with a nice scent. Leaving some in after the shower works as an additional detangler also.The shampoo is very nice also. Just a small amount a coin-size of shampoo is plenty to get all over the hair. Let it sit for 30 seconds to 1 minute for the scalp and hair follicles to properly absorb the nutrients. I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! It doesn’t smell bad, some of the reviews were a bit harsh on the smell. It’s rosemary and I think a bit minty. I’m on day three of use, while I haven’t really noticed a visual difference, my feel feels thicker. The texture doesn’t feel as fine as it normal is. After using this conditioner, along with the shampoo and serum from the same line, I have noticed a bit of improvement in the overall condition of my hair. I have less breakage and fewer split ends. The Everstrong conditioner is easy to work into my hair and rinses out just as easily. There is a bit of a cooling sensation – I gather it is from the peppermint in the ingredients. I think that has been helping to stimulate my scalp, and hopefully, in the long run, will help with hair growth. I look forward to using this product especially in the summer because of the cooling effect. The scent is more on the herbal side, but it also has a bit of a minty smell to it. I have an oily scalp with wavy waist length thick hair (many thin/low porosity strands). Color treated blonde. Problems: fluffy/poofy hair, greasy roots, dry ends, seborrheic dermatitis (on back of scalp) 1. Product longevity: I only used the allotted card sample packet of 10 mL shampoo & 10 mL conditioner, which I was prepared to not be enough for my long hair. It was perfect! It went a long way, which was a pleasant surprise right off the bat. 2. Scent: the fragrance is pleasant, light but it hangs in there, even into the next day. The scent is unisex. It just smells very *clean,* like a fresh aquatic citrus. Although it’s subtle, it is noticeable enough to get a “ooh your hair smells good” when someone goes in for the hug. 3. Effectiveness: this cleaned my hair so well, without making it feel overly dried or stripped. I have a hard time getting a good product that works with my dermatitis, and actually calmed the flare up I was having. Day 2 after wash, my head was so much less itchy than it was all week. My hair stayed clean and free of grease throughout all of day 1 and 2. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was smooth, shiny, soft (but not overly fluffy/full of poofy flyaways). It felt hydrated and my ends looked good. I’ve been faithful to olaplex for the past 2 years, but think I may have a new fave. I noticed that with olaplex, my hair began getting greasy SO quickly. I was getting greasy same day as wash. I still love it (that LATHER and scent tho!), but I think it’s too rich and moisture-focused for regular use given my oily scalp. My seborrheic dermatitis was getting worse and having intense flare ups. Anyway, everyone’s hair is different, and can change in different seasons, so I really don’t think there’s a “one size fits all” hair product that will be best for everyone at all times. For reference: I have LONG hair with a naturally wavy/curly texture, and with that comes frizz. A lot of it – even though I'm very aware of how to tame it (naturally kept or with a blow-out). My hair behaves weirdly, i'll just put it that way – it's difficult to achieve perfectly smooth styles. HOWEVER… I've been using OUAI products (I started with the THICK SHAMP+THICK COND.) for a little bit over a year now & all I can say is…I will NEVER go back to anything else, ever, unless I find something AS extraordinary as this brand. It's like magic in a bottle, to me at least. I have never experienced better hair (at home, done by me) in my entire life. It's insanely smooth & silky. I have such minimal frizz now. I normally need to blow dry AND straighten my hair, but I am beyond satisfied with just the blow-dried results. The only cons, I would say, is that because there's such rich and moisturizing ingredients (love to see it!) your hair can become a tad oily after the third day, even second sometimes. You just need to figure out what the right amount of product is for you so that you don't over do it. The second con, though it's nothing too crazy, would be that sometimes I end up needing more product in the shower, as it doesn't lather suuuuper well – but again, this depends on hair length and the amount that you know you need. I guess I just wish it foamed a bit more, is all. BUT these are such small things that can be resolved & aren't much of a big deal. For the oily con as mentioned above, this is why I switched to the MEDIUM line & I feel like it has helped. The THICK line may have heavier ingredients. I have tried SO many different shampoos and conditioners. A lot from drugstore and high end. And lately I've noticed I've been shedding more than usual. I have been using pureology a lot. I've used strength cure, hydrate and the nano works good line. But for some reason the pureology strength cure especially really irritated my scalp and makes me lose soooo much hair. So I got the ouai thick hair shampoo and conditioner and the first time I used it my shedding was only like 10 hair strands! I've washed my hair 4 times with it now and my hair scalp feels so clean but the shampoo makes washing my hair so easy and doesn't tangle my hair. And the conditioner is chefs kiss. I barely have to use any and my hair is so conditioned after the shampoo/conditioner. My hair is so soft, shiny, clean and my natural waves/curls look really pronounced since using the set. Also they smell AMAZING I want a perfume in the shampoo scent! I got the leave in, oil, and curl cream and they all work together beautifully and don't make my hair feel producty which I like because pureolgy always leaves my hair feeling kinda gross when I use their leave ins. Anyway I totally recommend this set and if you're getting greasy hair from this set try the medium or fine hair set. This just probably isn't for your hair type. If I could give this product negative stars I would. I really don’t like being this person but if I can save at least one person from my experience than this is worth the review. I have always had thin hair so I figured I would try this shampoo considering these are suppose to be the main 2 ingredients for hair growth, however, I had the complete opposite affect. I have never lost so much hair in my life and it is absolutely heart breaking for me right now. This product has torn me to pieces because I am unsure as to how I am suppose recover from this serious hair loss. If someone else knows of a product that actually works please let me know. A couple of weeks before Christmas I picked up this shampoo and conditioner to try to give my hair a little more life and to get it healthier. I was thinking my regular pantene wasn't doing the trick. 1 week after using this shampoo my hair started falling out in HUGE clumps in the shower. I thought something was seriously wrong with my health or my stress had gotten worse since we just lost a beloved family member. I just thought it was all me. So I continued to use the shampoo hoping it would eventually help. It didn't. Everytime I washed my hair it would continue to fall out in clumps. I stopped blow drying my hair and would only gently comb the ends of my hair with a wide tooth comb. Even gently combing my dry hair my hair was falling out. My sister (who didn't even know I was losing my hair) sent me a link about a lawsuit with Tressame. There is a major lawsuit because some of their products have caused hair loss and painful scalp burns. I looked it up and sure enough the shampoo I have been using had the ingredient they talked about in the law suit. I looked further into the shampoo and there are reviews all over the place with women complaining about my exact same condition. It's craziness. This is the strangest shampoo (and the conditioner) to me. I am used to shampoos that feel frothy and rich, and conditioners that feel silky when I rinse them out. I do a lot of detangling with my fingers in the shower because my hair is so long. It's well past my waist, almost to the top of my legs. Finger detangling in the shower helps prevent a lot of breakage. This shampoo (and the conditioner) scared me at first. I could hardly get my fingers through my hair. It knotted up when I shampooed, and took forever to get the knots out. The shampoo seemed to completely strip my hair, or so it felt. I'm talking SQUEEEEEAKY clean. I assumed that when it dried, it would look like a broom. But it didn't. I also used the conditioner, which didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling, either. I didn't use any detangler or hair oil out of the shower because I wanted to see exactly how this stuff worked for me. I carefully detangled with a flat detangling brush and let it air dry. And it looked amazing! I was shocked. My hair was so shiny and soft. It had lots of movement, and my waves had definition. I've used about half of both bottles so far, and I'm not seeing any change. My hair doesn't seem to be drying out or breaking, and I haven't noticed any unusual hair fall. I'm still on the fence, though, because it's so difficult to detangle. The "after" is great for me. I purchased both shampoo & conditioner. Before I bought Living Proof 3 purchases ago. I have been on a hunt for a shampoo that would go great with my hair. I wanted to switch off from the drug store products like dove because it was breaking my hair so much & my hair just ultimately got thin wether from bleaching my hair or genetics. Either way we all know that the drug store products can strip your hair. On Living proofs website they have this hair test where it can help you figure out what hair products they have will be good for your hair type. My hair is fine, thin, brittle and super straight. I wanted more fullness in my hair & so far my hair does not have a lot of breakage anymore, I have more hair growth. I wash my hair every 2-3 days (yes, that's still a lot to some of you hahaha) but my hair used to get super oily the 1st day before using Living Proof. Now, I can maintain it within those days & within those days although my hair gets slightly oily it still feels/smells clean. I fell in love with their scent by the way. 8/10 recommend because it is pricey but I think it is very much worth.vb1112
I have thinning hair in some major need of a volume boost. This has definitely helped! The whole experience is such a pleasure. Smells incredible! If you’ve tried any other LP products before, you’ll know what I mean. The shampoo had a nice lather without being too weighty. My hair looked more voluminous and fluffy after use, but not in a major way (see pics). However, it pairs so great with their other volumizing styling products! This is the first time I try a shampoo and conditioner duo from living proof. I have very fine, thin hair that tangles easily and usually volumizing products or thickening products make it more tangled instead of just giving me soft, maneageable volumized hair, but this duo actually worked on my hair. It didn't make it look dull and gave a slight lift that wasn't exaggerated. This shampoo lathered really nicely and made my hair feel clean. This became my everyday shampoo for when I wanted a good cleanse, soft strands and volume. I have an oily scalp problem. While it doesn't help delay the oil production, this is able to provide a thorough cleanse, leaving my hair (and the room) with this refreshing orange blossom scent. My most favourite thing about it is that it adds a little Zhoosh to my locks. My hair looks bouncy, with volume and, feels lightweight. It's silicone & sulphate free, and doesn't lather much. The one issue I do have with this is that since the formulation is runny and light, I have to use a considerable amount each time. Before meeting this amazing shampoo, I had been using a drugstore shampoo + conditioner for 6 years which were claiming to be sulfate-free. They changed their ingredients, I ended up with little dandruff, itchiness and hair loss. I made my research and found Briogeo! I read a lot about Briogeo's founder Nancy and hooked by her mission. I decided to give these products a try. I have been using the Blossom and Bloom Ginseng+ Biotin Shampoo + Conditioner + Don't Despair, Repair Hair Oil for about 2 months. My scalp gets oily the second day after washing. So, I wash my hair every other day, or sometimes even skip one more day even if it looks oily. This combination of products gives my thin, wavy(type: 2A) baby soft hair more volume and more shine. My hair now grows stronger and does not feel brittle while brushing. My sensitive scalp does not itch anymore. I must admit that the conditioner makes my hair slightly oily the next day, but I prefer the shiny head to a dry & itchy scalp 🙂
I had high hopes for this shampoo but it’s terrible for oily hair. My hair gets quite oily and dirty and I normally wash it every 3 days, I had never had issues with my other shampoos to cleanse my hair in the past but I did with this shampoo. There was nearly no bubbles even when I rub it in my palms before applying to my hair, and so it’s extremely difficult to clean my hair. The first time I had to use 4 pumps to even get my hair clean! Which is a lot considering how small the bottle is honestly. I haven’t had any noticeable difference either in terms of hair volume or texture, so I’ll strongly suggest that you don’t buy it, and especially DONT if you have oily hair because this shampoo doesn’t even clean it well. So I want to start by saying I live in the desert and have super thin dry hair, so I was SUPER excited to try this product (I used all four products – shampoo, conditioner, mask, and leave in condition together). I used all four products for this account: At first I was only going to give this a 3 because on day one of hair being washed, I feel like my hair still ends of feeling and looking really dry (especially the tips – see photos). BUT day two my hair looked/felt better, and day three my EVEN better! I showered all three days, it only used the products the first day, so you can see the progress of how my hair softened, my curls came out, AND I LOVED how my hair felt day 3/4. Normally with silicone products day 3 I HAVE to wash my hair again because the product is so heavy at my roots, whereas I LOVED how these products made my hair feel several days later. I still took off a star because of how dry my hair feels on day one. I have to suffer through one day of my hair bit feeling so great to get to better hair days, and I don’t really love that aspect. I've used this product intermittently for 15+ years. Over the last 5 or so it's become my go-to. I have fine, type 3 curls, low/medium porosity and medium density. I can't even begin to tell you how many different shampoos/conditioners I've tried, and I always come back to this set or the Ultra Hydrasource. I've never experienced any hair loss whatsoever, in fact, I have with other brands and once I go back to this it stops. The smell is absolutely amazing also! I wash my 1-2x a week with this, and in between I use a co-wash from Curlsmith. I always start with using the detangling solution from this line and brush through in the shower with my wet brush. I rinse, shampoo with this, then use the Hydrasource conditioner or a deep conditioner. I comb that through and let sit for several minutes and rinse. Even with very dark natural hair and having bleached highlights (touch ups every 3-6 months), my hairdresser brags about how healthy my hair is! I get a trim every 8 weeks, and she always tells me I don't even need it because of how healthy my ends are, even during post-COVID hair issues I was experiencing (loss and thinning). My husband also started using this when he ran out of his Redken Brews and his hair is VERY fine and thin, and he said he couldn't believe how much better his hair looked and felt (he's also a curly guy, only getting his hair cut/shaved 2-3x year). ⭐️First of all let’s get this out of the way, I was incentivized. I received these samples for free from Influenster and matrix for my honest opinion⭐️ Now that’s out of the way… Oh my hair is loving me right now… I waited until shampoo day and it was well worth it! After using the amazing shampoo I was a little skeptical that my hair would take to this conditioner because it’s so damaged and after I wash it I usually have to put a million and one conditioning products in it just to make it manageable!!! Well let me tell you this is not the case! After issuing a decent size dollop I ran it through my hair starting at the ends and working my way up to the root. Then I added a little bit of water to make it activate a little bit and VIOLA! I let it sit in my hair for about 5 to 10 minutes and then I rinse with lukewarm water. I gently towel dry my hair afterwards and went to come through with a white tooth comb. This is the first time that the comb actually ran through my hair because my hair is so damaged. I literally want to cry. If your hair is out of control and it’s breaking to no end you should really try this and give it a little time and you will see such a difference. It's a bit pricey but trust me its worth it. I was tired of my hair feeling gross, dry on the ends and oily at the roots. I threw away all my other garbage shampoos and I finally found the shampoo of all shampoos. Def sticking with this one a little lathers up a bunch. I can go 2-3 days without looking like an oily mess. And it makes my hair smell soo good. Def worth the money if youre tired of your hair having build up.emily p.
So, I hesitated about writing this review because I don’t like to complain, and I did love this product when I first purchased it. My hair was soft, smelled great, and I even had people commenting on the health & shine it had. I loved this product so much I stocked up on it.
About a year into using this shampoo and conditioner duo along with the leave in treatment I noticed an unusual amount of hair fall. I thought nothing of it assuming it was my hair screaming at me for the heat/hair dye ect. However, I noticed it more and more and after 6 months of extreme shedding I decided I should look into what was going on. First i started taking supplements (Womens vitamins and biotin) assuming it was my dreadful diet to blame. No change. I put a shower head filter in to filter my shower water. No change. Then I went cold turkey on heat styling, and stopped using hair dye. Nothing seemed to help. I even bought different ‘it’s a 10’ products to try to “strengthen” my hair. I attempted to not wash my hair but once a week… still incredible amounts of fall out. I was lost. Finally I changed shampoo. I started noticing in the shower less and less fall out, soon brushing my hair produced less wads of hair to clean from my brush. It seems I have found the culprit. I have spent 6 months trying to identify what I was doing wrong, and all signs point to “it’s a 10”.
I’m posting this not out of anger, or spite, but because everywhere I looked I saw “how great” this product is …. I even asked my hair dresser what she recommended for hair fall and she asked what I use and I told her “it’s a 10” and she raves about how great the product is.
my hair is incredibly thin and I have little baby regrowth. I don’t want someone else to go through what I did and change shampoo when it’s too late. So if u r using it’s a 10 and noticing a lot of fall out… maybe it just doesn’t work for us?

I really like this shampoo and conditioner. It's a shame so many people left 1 star reviews because it just didn't work for them. It would be different if there was something wrong with customer service or the product itself. However, with skin care, nail care, and hair care so much of whether or not it'll work for you is left biology and body chemistry and you have to try different products to find the one that works with yours. So it's really unfair to leave negative reviews on products that don't match up with your unique chemistry.wifeofsauron

Well, super bummed. I liked the light scent. It doesn't smell "good" but not bad either and it doesn't linger so I don't care about that. First time I used, literally thought I forgot to rinse conditioner out. So I washed next day (usually only wash twice a week). My hair was fine, but seemed a bit heavy. Used it yesterday without the conditioner this time because I used a hair mask (which I've been using for years). Could tell immediately when rinsing the mask my hair felt really weird. Then again today everything but the top most layer is a weird filmy greasy mess! So it's not just the conditioner, but the shampoo. It leaves a gross film on my hair making it super greasy. I have an oilier scalp but I can still go days between washes. This stuff somehow has the strands extremely oily! Will definitely return this one. Love the ghost oil and their purple hair mask though!Haleygb
DO NOT BUY THIS product, IT WILL DRY OUT YOUR HAIR. – I'm not too sure why this was given the name "hydrating shampoo". I have curly hair and live in the Southwest region of the USA. Hot, dry climate + curls = extra dry hair. I purchased this along with the condition with the hopes of going for a cruelty free, vegan brand that could nourish my locks in time for summer – I was let down and then some. DO NOT buy this product. After one wash, my hair was left brittle with zero definition, and that's with applying my usual styling oil and VERB curl creme. I'm an Ulta employee and I decided to try this when we first got it in our location. I tried the Ghost line's kit and it just wasn't for me (I feel that it weighed my hair down a bit but my hair is really finicky) so I was afraid to try the hydration line. My hair isn't super fine but it's also not really thick, just kinda in the middle, but I have A LOT of hair. I used to get a full highlight every three months for 8 years before deciding to dye it darker. My hair is a little damaged to say the least and it's pretty dry. I tried the shampoo and conditioner, and was surprised at how nice the shampoo lathered despite being sulfate free. Over time I noticed that my hair didn't fade as quickly as when I used my bumble and bumble line. My hair felt healthier and hydrated, but without any weird residue, texture, or weigh down. It DEFINITELY cut down on frizz and made my hair much shinier. 10/10 get this if your hair needs weightless hydration.Twenty something makeup artist

im so impressed by this shampoo! not only is it affordable compared to other salon shampoos but I could really see a difference in my hair after using it and will continue to use this shampoo. my hair feels so clean and bouncy after using this. it doesn't feel dry or like it's squeaky clean just soft and very manageable. definitely my favourite product and brand.
My hair is complicated. I have what I call a white girl fro and it is not pretty! And this is not to be slanderous in any way whatsoever! My hair literally sticks out like a lions main when I first dry it! So not kidding!!!! And yes I use a brush because if I don't, it's even worse! My hair stylist suggested this product but, I was very hesitant because I have tried so many different products and wasted a lot of money doing so. I'm so glad I tried this! My hair can be fixed to be straight or fixed to be curly. Either way is a lot of work. This product along with a matching shampoo, all from Eleven Australia, my hair has been so much easier to fix and maintain! My hair feels healthier and doesn't feel weighted down at all. With my hair type, whatever you want to call it, frizzes so bad when it's raining or just humid, with just this line of product, the frizz is so much less than ever before. Even if I start to get a little warm, my hair previously would would start frizzing up, especially at the crown. Now it very seldom ever happens, if it gets wet(caught in rain or splashed) there's nothing that will stop that! I recommend this line to everyone I know!
