20 Best Shampoo And Conditioner For Hair Extensions (Jan 2023 Update)

To preface. I'm a 25 female. Natural light brown hair, bleached low maintenance blonde. Thick wavy frizzy hair that reaches the lower bottom of my back. Prone to split ends and breakage at the bottom of my hair. No extensions. I wanted to add this so people with similar hair types can relate. So to start, I'm so torn on this shampoo… I tried it for 3 weeks and I do like that this shampoo and conditioner cuts down on my overall frizz and made my hair so much smoother and less likely to tangle which is exactly what I was looking for. BUT there is some things about this shampoo I just can't ignore. First off the smell, I just can't get past it. It reminds me of a menthol cigarette. It just smells sooo minty and lingers after washing. Some people may not mind the smell but if my shampoo is going to linger, I'd prefer it to smell like something other than strong mint and almost a tea tree smell. Second, when the conditioner sets for a couple minutes before rinsing out I've noticed that my back and neck where the product has been laying in my hair will get very cold and tingly. Almost like how when you have a breath mint you get the same effect in your mouth but it's on your body this time. This alone made me decide not to repurchase. I like my shower water very warm and I found myself constantly turning the heat up because while the conditioner set I would get extremely cold from the tingly feeling. It can be overwhelming sometimes and linger even after washing the area thoroughly and drying off. I would assume if this was a shampoo and conditioner without the minty smell that I was having an allergic reaction to it but since it has that smell I just really don't know if the tingle is intended or not. And lastly, I've noticed a lot of small breakage at the top of my hair by my scalp. I'm not prone to breakage that high and only notice it after a fresh bleach every once and a while although it is usually very rare for me. I should note that it has been 3 months since my last bleach since I am a low maintenance blonde and I was not using this product during my last bleach. I also take a lot measures to protect my hair that could be the cause of breakage that high. So at this point only thing I've changed is this shampoo and conditioner. I've decided not to finish the rest of the bottle due to concerns about further breakage. This is just my experience. Some people seem to love it but it's a no from me. I hope this helps some people on the fence after reading conflicting reviews. I've switched to Joyco kpac reconstructing shampoo that has also given me the same desirable results so far with a much better smell, no breakage, and most importantly no tingly feeling on by skin.Lexi

I saw the hair loss reviews but if the hair is coming out at the follicle then that is definitely health related not from a shampoo. Shampoo cannot cause hair loss unless maybe a severe reaction to the scalp and there's swelling and for whatever reason the follicle comes out with it but that is highly unlikely. But anyways back to my review lol this is the most hydrating gentle shampoo I've ever used it's perfect! It cleans my hair and makes my scalp feel so refreshed but my hair is detangled and moisturized! And the conditioner is so creamy and moisturizing! The scents for both are so relaxing to me and my hair and scalp are taken care of with this set of shampoo and conditioner. my hair is so soft, shiny and perfectly moisturized. Definitely for medium to thick hair types unless you have finer very porous hair then I think you'd like it. Definitely one I can rely on and will repurchase but I already got the liters so guess I'll be repurchasing after that lolHairlover

Here's my honest review: I got this shampoo from Top Box Circle and as soon as the package arrived home I was so excited to try it out because I've never used a hair product with Argan oil and always wanted to give it a go as Argan oil has done wonders for my skin in the past. I was really taken aback when I first used this shampoo because my hair felt really sticky and oily which was very disappointing. The next day after washing my hair it looked so dirty so I had to rewash my hair with another shampoo. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week because I lose a lot of hair but this shampoo forces me to wash my hair more than 3 times a week which just wouldn't work and for those reasons, I won't be purchasing this particular shampoo in the future. The new formulation has left my scalp itching like crazy. It has left a residue in my hair that completely defeats the purpose of a shampoo. The original formula was my holy grail. Left my hair clean without stripping it and making it feel like straw unlike other clean shampoos. This new formula is now not only clean (contains phenoxyethanol), it is ineffective and makes my hair and scalp feel horrible after just one use. This company gave so many of us hope for access to excellent hair products and now they are just like a stereotypical large corporation – profit first. Quality and safety last.PL

I'm grateful for the opportunity to review this product. I first used this product whenbi was transitioning over 4 years ago, and now I'm finally using it again. I love this brand for being safe and free from harmful chemicals/ substances that can be damaging. A small amount can give a good lather but i found this shampoo to not be that moisturizing. Also my hair was felt very stripped! I feel like this product is lacking. If shea was higher up on the ingredient list or there was more oils, then the product would suit coily kinky hair like mine. I don't really recommend this for people with hair like type 3 or 4, but for people with type 1 or 2 hair that don't use oils…this would be a clean alt to use.Quita

Transforms hair in the first use. My extensions were feeling really dry despite using olaplex 4&5. One of my fellow hair stylist friends told me to try this. It cleaned my hair well and didn't make my fine hair weighed down or oily. It sucks having fine hair and extentions because you know the struggle if you're like me your real hair can't take the moisture extensions need. This was a perfect balance I was able to comb the conditioner through my hair in the shower with ease. Also for everyone saying this stinks or smells cheap… they must not know high end scents because it smells almost exactly like Le labo Rose 31 which I absolutely adore!!! So bonus!!! My auntie let me use her bottles of this shampoo and conditioner when I was staying over at her house and I immediately had to look it up. I'm obsessed with this line, even though I don't have extensions, it leaves my hair ridiculously soft and light. I have fine, straight hair and have trouble getting any volume, but I'm impressed with how well this conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down. In regards to the smell, I think it is amazing but everyone has their preference. I have received compliments on how good my hair smells when friends or family hugs me. So maybe open the bottle and smell it before buying if you're not sure.Kierin

My extensions specialist gave me the whole set shampoo/conditioner/detangling spray. Let me tell you.. these products left my extensions clean, manageable detangles and smelled amazing!!! Highly recommend this product especially if your trying to save $ between washes and blowouts!! I have I-tip extensions for reference no slippage or matted hair anywhere!!Ileana

I got the travel size shampoo/conditioner and it's the first time I've tried this brand, though I've heard celebrities skull shill it often. Honestly, it's not bad. I can use the shampoo every day and it seems to be enough to allow my hair be combed through without any tangles. It makes me hair very soft, but my scalp feels oily within 24 hours. I'm using it in the winter as I imagine it would be a little too moisturizing in warmer weather, leading to oilier hair/scalp. The conditioner is a little too heavy for my hair. If I use it, my hair is very soft out of the shower, but flat and oily by the morning, and I have dry/oily hair type. The shampoo scent is rather unpleasant, others have described it well in their reviews. The shampoo also has SLS and parabens – all the not good stuff we're supposed to avoid. But for once in a while use it you want very soft, touchable hair, this works fine.HollyWoodDays

So first off I love this brand, it got introduced to me when I was at a salon. So the first collection I tried was the resistance, I love that collection it really makes a difference in my hair it makes it feel so soft and smooth and before my hair was bleach and dry and I had chunks of hair falling out. This brand really made a difference. I can’t use a lot of brands I am too sensitive and my head gets itchy and dry. But I recently wanted to a new change because my hair is almost all natural so I went with the nutritive. I been using it for a week now I am not a fan of the smell and I don’t feel like it’s making a different in my hair like the resistance was. I received this as a sample for my birthday gift this year with Sephora and am sad I wasted my gift on this, but also happy I didn’t purchase a full size. I use drugstore shampoo (suave and herbal essences 90% of the time) and can say they always leave my naturally frizzy and curly hair smooth and manageable afterwards. Needless to say if those low priced products can satisfy me, I had high expectations for this shampoo+conditioner. It left my hair so brittle, dry, and damaged after just one use. I could tell even brushing my hair fresh out of the shower while wet that it was tearing through knots and already felt coarse. I applied extra argan oil to my hair to dry with and it still was so dry and I saw split ends already forming which I had never seen before. I didn’t wash my hair for 7 days after using this product, hoping any natural oil would help my hair return to a natural state before and that no permanent damage had been done. It’s been 2 weeks since my first and final use of this product and I am back to herbal essences. Thankfully my hair is back to it’s healthy normal state, but I truly cannot believe this product is considered high end. It is like dishwasher soap and hotel conditioner.Jenae0

I rarely ever review any products but feel the need to review this and share my experience. I purchased this along with the Redken conditioner to match and began using it in the spring of this year. At the same time I was going back to school and had a couple life changes happening. My hair is thin and fine and to my horror I began losing massive amounts of hair in the shower and when brushing my hair. I was mortified! I have never had something like this happen to me before. I thought it had to be the stress of going back to school or the changes I had going on. I did not want to throw away shampoo and conditioner this expensive. Finally in desperation, I purchased my go to shampoo and conditioner and within a week or two the hair loss stopped and was back to the normal amount I typically lose. What a relief! A month to 6 weeks after I stopped using this shampoo and conditioner, I had baby hairs spiking all over my head. While I am happy they're growing back I am so sad I waited so long to stop using this. My hair looks wild now with regrowth poking straight up in the air, I have fairly long hair so I am embarking on a long journey of patience here. I used to love Redken, I took a long break from it to try new products (like a 5 year break) because their formulas switched. I tried this out again recently because my stylist recommended it and within only a weeks worth of washing (I wash my hair every 2-3 days, so 2-3 washes total) I noticed that my hair began "shedding" more than usual. After 2 weeks of washes and changing nearly everything else in my routine to compensate, I realized that it was this shampoo that was making my hair fall out! And before anyone assumes I'm being "dramatic," IT WAS CLUMPS! I am 24 years old, healthy, and take great care of my hair. First off, I have very long and thick colored hair. I bought this thinking it would be a good new shampoo and not fade my color. I was completely wrong, as this shampoo didn't seem to clean my hair at all and only made the build up on my hair worse. I have never struggled with build up on my hair, until I bought this shampoo along with the Redkin All Mega Soft conditioner. It was absolutely terrible, I had so much waxy build up around my hairline that looked like grease, and it would NOT go away no matter how much shampoo I used. Along with that, I felt like this made my color fade more than any hair product I've ever used before, which also had never been a major problem for me in the past. So in short, this shampoo brought about a lot of issues I never had to deal with before and made my hair look awful. I will never buy Redkin hair products again, because both types of shampoo and conditioner I used were awful. I thankfully had a hair appointment soon after this problem started so that my hair was thoroughly cleaned, and after my stylist gave me new recommendations (Pureology and Matrix Total Results btw) I threw the Redkin in the trash. I am also not one to leave reviews, but I would honestly feel bad if I didn't warn someone about to buy this how bad it is. It’s a clear shampoo with a great clean scent. Unlike some sulfate free, no build up type shampoos, this didn’t leave my dry and frizz prone hair feeling stripped. It actually gave my hair a soft and smooth feeling. I use this once weekly and wash with another shampoo for my other shampooing during the week. I can’t speak to how this product works for those who wash daily but it definitely feels gentle. I’d been wanting to try this brand for quite some time and I actually won this product so I received it free. My opinion is my own honest feedback after using the shampoo weekly for the past 3 months. I’m interested in trying other products from Color Wow, especially the Dream Coat. I originally got this from a Today Show steals & deals segment (they sucker me in all the time) and received full size shampoo, conditioner, and 3 other styling and heat protectant products. I always try things for several weeks, go back to my usual stuff for several weeks and see if I can tell a difference. I absolutely positively can with this shampoo/conditioner! My hair is silky, light, bouncy, shiny and not greasy at all. My notice my ends don’t get as dry between washes (I was my hair once/week) and I can go much longer before I need dry shampoo. My color looks amazing and even if I didn’t have any color (majority of my hair is my natural color) I would still use WOW. Give it a shot – it’s very comparable to SUPER expensive/higher end stuff and PRO TIP for you girls saying it left your hair “gunky” – girl get your head under the bathroom sink after your shower with cold cold water to make sure ALL of it is out of your hair/scalp. I wish I could give this 4.5 stars. The smell is mild, nice. It lathers up well. It doesn’t tangle my hair like some other sulfate free shampoos do. It creates beautiful shine. I don’t notice any color fallout at all. Overall I really enjoy this shampoo and have repurchased it a few times. My issue is that I feel like I have to use a lot of it each time and if I wash my hair more than twice a week, the ends can feel a little dry. But I don’t have another shampoo that I like better so I just use a heavier conditioner on my ends. 🙂AZDocFox

I was searching for a new go to shampoo and conditioner, something for my fine but thick, damaged and frizzes easily hair (its humid in the south), as I'm growing it out since I had to do a big chop. I did alot of searching online reading reviews on all products, that was my make or break on finally making a purchase. WTBS I'm super happy with this product and have been using it for over a month before even writing a review. The shampoo is so fragrant, it WOW'd me, it doesn't smell that strong out the bottle, I love it, but if you are sensitive to strong scents you might not like it, but after using over a week or so, you get used to its power and enjoy it alot. Lathers well, my hair feels super clean and soft, mega sleek is exactly what you get with this combination. When blow drying you can still smell the luxurious smell, faintly not over powering but where you know your hair smells SO GOOD! My frizz and fly aways are definitely helped by this product. I normally straighten my hair almost daily, but since my big chop and I'm growing out my natural hair, I want it super healthy and the least amount damaged as possible, so right now no flat iron only blow drying and it looks very good! I haven't had a haircut in over 22 weeks so I can only imagine how it would look straightened with the help of this Mega Sleek. This will be my shampoo and conditioner for a long time. The conditioner is nice and slimey (if you have hair like mine that will tangle horribly and you need a slimey conditioner just to be able to comb it after.. my hair is shoulder length now, but used to be LONG, my hair acts no different with a different length), its very conditioning and works very well!!! I have zero complaints on both these products and do recommend! Only warning is the scent if you are sensitive, you can always try and return, but give it a fair chance. I honestly love this stuff and so glad I found the right product so I can stick with something that makes me and my hair happy. FINALLY!! P.S. I leave my conditioner upside down, so its easier to squeeze it out VS shaking the bottle to get the conditioner to come out since its thick not runny.Jessica

I really love that this product truly makes my fizzy, wavy hair less frizzy and sleek! I come out of the shower with shiny hair and it seems to stay much more tame than with standard shampoos!! I usually buy Aveda smooth infusion but they changed the formula/product and reviews aren't great. So I tried this. I am completely surprised at how much I love it! It smooths my hair nicely on straight hair days but also makes my curls so happy on curly days. Great price. Does everything you would want your shampoo and conditioner to do. Thank you! This is a weird one. It's a sulfate shampoo without any of the "harsh" sulfates people associate with them. The result is a really satisfying, fine-grained lather that cleans extremely well but feels very different from SLS shampoo. This is not a super gentle or hypoallergenic shampoo. But it strikes a nice balance between conventional SLS/SLES formulations and purely cocamidopropyl betaine formulations. So it's well within the comfort zone for just about anyone. This one is different from the main Paul Mitchell awapuhi shampoos, and worth a try if you like other formule with similar surfactants. The only negatives I really have to say are that cocomidopropyl betaine is sensitizing and irritating for a lot of people, there's a bit of controversy around it. Also, if I use this shampoo without clarifying for an extended period my hair gets weirdly light and fluffy. I suspect this is due to this product either not cleansing out certain things or depositing them, making my hair repel itself on an ionic level. May be solved with certain products or blow drying, havent really found the solution there.Bacchante

I have long baby fine wavy color treated hair that became wiry/frizzy after it began growing salt/pepper. It's naturally oily, and I believe I have sebhorriec dermatitis (flakey & itchy particularly around the ears). Most shampoos that treat the dermatitis cause eve more oil production. I have tried everything without relief until this. Not only did it stop the itch and over production or skin cells/dermatitis but it controls the frizz without leaving it oily. Because of the cost & add some of PM's regular awapuhi shampoo to it on alternate days. I condition afterward with Not Your Mother's Way to Grow & then use a Wet Brush to brush through it easily, and then just let it air dry. At 55 I have the hair I dreamed of in my 20's. I use Age Beautiful 7N hair dye, and it holds too.Double_V

First time user of this product and was very happy with it. The shampoo is so beautifully creamy, I had to check I was using the shampoo and not the conditioner! I have naturally curly unruly coloured treated for decades hair that I use hairdryer & straighteners on. I further abuse my hair by swimming outdoors a lot over tge summer in the sunshine. I was a big Aveda Smooth Infusion fan until I finally listened to my Tony & Guy hairdresser & started using these Olaplex products to repair my badly treated hair & maintain the colour. I am now an Olaplex convert. My hair condition instantly improved after one wash, it smooths my hair better than Aveda Smooth Infusion. It is more concentrated that the Aveda Smooth Infusion so a 250ml bottle of Olaplex lasts much, much longer than the Aveda Smooth Infusion. I have just returned from a week swimming for hours everyday in Greece. Chlorine, sunshine, colour treated unruly hair, hairdryer & straighteners everynight = hair abuse I know. I used Olaplex everynight. I returned with my hair in good condition, the colours maintained & I brought most of the 250ml bottles back of each product. By comparison on the same holiday the year before I had used up most of the Aveda Smooth Infusion 250 ml bottles. I AM NOW FULLY CONVERTED TO OLAPLEX.Blazing S.

I bought this for my wife and she use this with the No 0, No 3, and the No 5. I must say the combo of these together is amazing. Her hair was pretty much destroyed frome excessive styling, blow drying and box dyes. We could totally tell a difference after just one use of these products together. Her hair looks healthier, has more shine and manageability, doesn't look as damaged, she isn't yanking out knots when she wakes up and brushes her hair plus it just feels so soft and looks smooth not frizzy. It seems like the texture, strength, and even the way her hair is laying is totally changing. The smells not over powering which is something we both love because sometimes hair fragrances clash with perfumes but not Olaplex it's perfectly balanced. The bottles aren't the biggest which was kind of a let down but you don't need near as much as other shampoos so it seems like it will last just as long as a big bottle of regular shampoo. It lathers and rinses out amazingly! The pure magic that comes out of those bottles can't be beat and it's so worth it! The duo of the conditioner, shampoo and other products used together can't be matched or beat! Her hair and her self imaging is healing and getting better after each use. I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5. Since my hair is quite fine and thin I use the bond building treatment and hair perfecter 1-2 times a week for the past month. Honestly I am stunned at the results. Since it’s not a permanent fix but a treatment, you do have to continue using it. I did read somewhere that there’s no way for it to permanently fix your already damaged hair but it can definitely treat it while the damage grows out. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, there’s no apparent residue, and it felt healthier and looked healthier after only the first try and has consistently improved since. I’ve tried so many products that just seem to sit on top of my hair and reflect light instead of actually improving anything texturally. I was also stunned at the quality of the product, not just in effect but a little really does go a long way in each one of my products. It smells and feels amazing. I could clearly go on. I’m just so pleasantly stunned! I had read some very negative reviews and was prepared to just take a chance and I’m thrilled and impressed with the results. It’s made me finally feel like I can get my hair back to something I love again. This is not a review about the product but rather about the packaging of some hair care products that I have purchased over the years, and I realize that Beauty Brands does not have full influence in changing how products are packaged. The installation of dispensing pumps in shampoo and conditioner products is frustrating when they cannot be opened. The idea that they were invented to create convenience is certainly not that when one is dysfunctional. If I'm lucky, I still have a previously used bottle and can swap out the dysfunctional pump for the working one. Is there any way all shampoo and conditioner bottles can come with the option of a regular cap? These caps seem less expensive and easier to make. An added bonus is the ability to easily tip bottles on their tops when they become increasingly empty. I don't remember ever having difficulty opening a hair care product that has a regular cap, but I quite often have to worry about getting a pump triggered properly before being able to indulge in the luxury that is contained inside of that bottle. I appreciate having this forum to air my grievances and applaud any attempts to correct the dysfunctionality of dispensing pumps for bottles. This all seems so trivial when we have so many other pressing issues of concern in our world, so thank you.Jacque

I am someone who has dealt with dry-scalp, dandruff, and sore/itchy scalp off and on for years. I've tried countless shampoos and conditioners (many of which made specifically to address my problems.)Oddly enough, this shampoo (or "power cleanser") is the only one I've ever used that has addressed all of my problems. I wash my hair with it and condition with the American Crew conditioner every one or two days (depending on my activity level and depending on if I used pomade that day). I do realize that this is for cleaning styling products from your hair, but I most certainly use this as a general shampoo as well. It may not serve this purpose for anyone else, but it certainly does for me.pooja .a

While pricey, this conditioner saved my hair at one of its driest, most brittle points. My hair was EXTREMELY damaged from poorly done relaxers in the past. My hairdresser recommended this to me and immediately, my hair became much softer and more manageable. If your hair is in an extremely damaged state, this is definitely a very, very moisturizing shampoo that didn't strip what little moisture my hair had. However, if your hair doesn't have the most damage, there may be other, less expensive products that would work nearly as well.nina.s

I have tried other OGX products and have truly enjoyed them, however I found this specific scent to be far from the truth from that statement. The scent itself smells great. However, there’s one major issue. When using this, it gave me extremely painful cystic back acne. I know this product is to blame because when I swapped the shampoo and conditioner out and went back to my usual brand the issue went away after a few weeks and no other changes to my routine. It was so painful and so deep in my skin and I have never had that happen with any hair care product before in my life. I think it has to do with the coconut oil in the product, even after rinsing it out extremely well. I’m not quite sure, but this product will not be in my routine ever again and I’m so disappointed because it did smell really good.haley.j

I liked this conditioner because of how soft it made my hair feel out of the shower on my natural hair. The parts that were bleached before definitely need more TLC but nothing a little oil can’t fix. If I were using this on my natural straight black hair, then it would be completely fine. However for the bleached ends, I need another product to help supplement that needed moisture. However I liked how voluminous my hair was after washing. Usually because I need to moisturize the dry ends, my hair is flat and boring. With the shampoo and conditioner duo, I have fluffy and voluminous hair. The only negative thing I would say about this condition and the shampoo is the coconut scent is really strong. It makes sense why it would smell like coconuts but I found the scent to be very overwhelming when I was using the product. Super nourishing and makes my hair super soft! I feel that it does what it claims to do which is bribing moisture back to the hair, and strengthens the hair. The only thing I would say is that this has a strong scent of coconuts, so this might not be for people who are sensitive to smell, as this scent can be overpowering. But surprisingly I do like it considering I prefer no scented products. I also like that this product doesn’t contain sulfates and parabens. BUT as I read the ingredients, it does contain dimethicone. This ingredient is associated with hair loss so I did stop using this product after looking at the back. I refuse to use products containing this ingredient as I’ve seen significantly less hair loss when I avoid products that have this ingredient.lauren.g

I’m so glad I took a chance on this conditioner. I was a bit worried because I have fine, low-porosity 2B/C hair and I thought this might overpower it. It’s been super frizzy and weak because I’ve been over-moisturising it. I’ve tried multiple deep conditioning protein treatments (Shea Moisture yogurt and manuka honey, Lazartigue, Briogeo don’t despair, repair) and even wore a drying bonnet to make my hair more receptive. None of them made much of a difference. Also, I’m quite sensitive to fragrance and get worried whenever people say a product “smells amazing”, as they’ve said about the Shea Moisture and Briogeo masks, which I found quite obnoxious. This one is very fruity and the smell mostly disappears after you rinse it out. It’s pleasant, if a bit odd, but not overwhelming. It’s certainly wouldn’t deter me from using it. All it took was one wash with this conditioner. My hair has transformed into a shiny, smooth mane. I’m so glad I tried it and I’m looking forward to checking out more from this range!Chloe

This is now part of my first-ever STAPLE products. I have never had a staple hair care product. I have odd hair strands that rarely like any mainstream hair care products. But, my hair loves this! I have very fine 3C/4A strands that get extremely tangled. This product MELTS away all the tangles and keeps my hair detangled all week long. I have never experienced a product that could do that for my hair before. The consistency is just like a non-thick yogurt, which my hair seems to love. The directions say to apply to wet hair. Because my hair is so fine, this was difficult even when starting with wet hair. So, I apply to damp hair. If it starts drying too quickly, I apply anyway and then spritz my hair after-the-fact with water or the JBCO water from this line. I seal the moisture in with a light oil/hair grease. My hair loves this combination. Can't wait to see if it helps me retain my hair length more easily. I currently have APL hair. Hoping to reach MBL by year's end.Tasha M.

I have long straight and fine hair – so maybe this wasn’t marketed towards me but I ended up loving it! I use a tiny amount through my ends and it does a great job and helping the dryness of my hair and taming some of the frizz. I love the smell of it too! First off I thought this was like a thick lotion or cream and no, it is not.. so you’re gonna have to buy a squirt bottle or a mister of some type to go along with this product.  when you shake the bottle it sounds like water but giiiiirl it is not! I freaking love this and it’s a must have!!!! I let it dry into my hair after showering and it makes brushing easier.. I’ve also noticed my hair is in better condition!! Also, I use it for routine cleansing of my hair. It yields a soft and healthy texture. Since using these products, I've also been using the complete line of Aphogee Keratin Products. I like this leave in conditioner it has a water like consistency. It has almost a fruity pineapple scent. It doesnt moisturize my hair but It is also an additional heat protection so it makes my life easier to not constantly try to buy a seperate heat protectant for styling. It doesnt do much hydration at all but it does the job for a tiny extra bit of moisture. If youre someone that has low perosity hair i don’t recommend as it doesnt have much hydration properties at all but maybe for someone who has an oily scalp and want a more lightweight product this may be the one for you. Overall I recommend this because it is a two in one as the heat protectant is a plus to the product.monica.a

To start – I have coily, thick hair but very thin hair strands. This has been the ONLY shampoo I’ve ever used that doesn’t completely strip my hair or cause ridiculous tangles in the shower. I’ve been using this for about 3/4 years now and I have no complaints. I’m able to start my wash days off without stress because of this shampoo. It’s also gentle on my hair. I’ve also had success in the past with using it to get my hair “squeaky clean” just by doing a deep double wash versus one. I’ve yet to even encountered a conditioner that detangles my hair as well as this does! I hope this product never gets discontinued because I’m 100% loyal to this product!!Amber B

I was looking for something more moisturizing for my relaxed hair as my current shampoo was too clarifying, despite claiming to be moisturizing as well. I switched to this one and after one wash, condition and flat iron, it's giving fresh out the salon chair. Much fewer fly-aways, my hair looks shinier and physically feels more moisturized. I'm sure I could've detangled with the shampoo but I waited until I deep conditioned to be safe. 10/10.Gab

Ok curly girls! This is a true find. I purchased this from Ulta. I had never heard of this brand before so I stumbled upon it. I thought why not give it a chance and wow so glad I did. This is a sulfate free shampoo but does lather up. It lives up to it's name! You want moisturized curls? Well here it is. Soft hair? Here it is. What I love about this product as soon as you put this sulfate free shampoo on your hair you can tell the difference compared to other sulfate free shampoo. I love that it lathers up and feels slick in my hair. It really detangles my hair and when you rinse your hair you can actually run your finger through your hair. This product also helps with frizz. So yes run out and get yourself a bottle you'll be glad you did. Trust me I have tried so many high priced shampoos that didn't live up to the hype. Price is decent. This is now my shampoo of choice. I will be buying this again for sure. I highly recommend this product for the curly girls out there. And yes now I will be trying other products from this brand.Colleen

It's a bit pricey but trust me its worth it. I was tired of my hair feeling gross, dry on the ends and oily at the roots. I threw away all my other garbage shampoos and I finally found the shampoo of all shampoos. Def sticking with this one a little lathers up a bunch. I can go 2-3 days without looking like an oily mess. And it makes my hair smell soo good. Def worth the money if youre tired of your hair having build up.emily p.

So, I hesitated about writing this review because I don’t like to complain, and I did love this product when I first purchased it. My hair was soft, smelled great, and I even had people commenting on the health & shine it had. I loved this product so much I stocked up on it.

About a year into using this shampoo and conditioner duo along with the leave in treatment I noticed an unusual amount of hair fall. I thought nothing of it assuming it was my hair screaming at me for the heat/hair dye ect. However, I noticed it more and more and after 6 months of extreme shedding I decided I should look into what was going on. First i started taking supplements (Womens vitamins and biotin) assuming it was my dreadful diet to blame. No change. I put a shower head filter in to filter my shower water. No change. Then I went cold turkey on heat styling, and stopped using hair dye. Nothing seemed to help. I even bought different ‘it’s a 10’ products to try to “strengthen” my hair. I attempted to not wash my hair but once a week… still incredible amounts of fall out. I was lost. Finally I changed shampoo. I started noticing in the shower less and less fall out, soon brushing my hair produced less wads of hair to clean from my brush. It seems I have found the culprit. I have spent 6 months trying to identify what I was doing wrong, and all signs point to “it’s a 10”.

I’m posting this not out of anger, or spite, but because everywhere I looked I saw “how great” this product is …. I even asked my hair dresser what she recommended for hair fall and she asked what I use and I told her “it’s a 10” and she raves about how great the product is.

my hair is incredibly thin and I have little baby regrowth. I don’t want someone else to go through what I did and change shampoo when it’s too late. So if u r using it’s a 10 and noticing a lot of fall out… maybe it just doesn’t work for us?

I really like this shampoo and conditioner. It's a shame so many people left 1 star reviews because it just didn't work for them. It would be different if there was something wrong with customer service or the product itself. However, with skin care, nail care, and hair care so much of whether or not it'll work for you is left biology and body chemistry and you have to try different products to find the one that works with yours. So it's really unfair to leave negative reviews on products that don't match up with your unique chemistry.wifeofsauron

I love most Beauty Works products however I am so disappointed with this shampoo and conditioner – the shampoo doesn’t lather up well therefore you need to use more to cover your whole head. I have long think hair and needed to use quite a bit to feel my hair was washed. The conditioner was ok but I didn’t think it left my hair as soft as other conditioners I have used. I have mixed feelings about this. First, the positives….it smells lovely and fresh, like expensive face cream, and it does a good job of cleaning my hair without stripping the colour. Now the not so great things…. it's not at all nourishing (not that I believe for a minute that shampoo nourishes hair) and it's not at all hydrating. In fact my hair was a tangled mess after I used it and I needed a lot of conditioner to be able to detangle it. I think that without a lot of conditioner this shampoo would be really drying. I have straight, Caucasian hair. Mid length. No extensions. Coloured but not bleached and not usually dry. If I find this drying I think someone with dry, thick or textured hair would definitely struggle with it.Ld76

I have tapes extensions from beauty works so I rely heavily on this shampoo and the conditioner that comes with because it is sulphate free although I use big amounts due to my extensions being thick. If only it was a bigger bottle. Would only recommend if you want to try support your hair to be healthier (there are cheaper options) or if you have extensions like meJajajajajade

I have mid-long length pretty straight hair with medium thickness. I normally use cheaper drugstore shampoo and conditioners but wanted to try something more of salon/higher quality thats supposedly better for your hair. This shampoo is okay it does work nicely but I didn't like it for a few reasons. It smells good but I feel I had to use quite a bit of it for it to lather nicely. I felt like it was thick and kind of stayed on my hair so it took a lot of the natural wave and volume of my hair out and made it much straighter and flat. I felt like my hair got greasy faster too, leading me to washing it more. It did make my hair very shiny and soft though. My hair isn't really damaged though so if you do have damaged hair that you're looking to get shiny and soft this shampoo may work nicely for you. I just didn't like the way it made my hair look and feel. Also the bottle designed is not great, it's difficult to squeeze and get the product out, especially when it starts running low. I probably wouldn't buy it again.Nicole

For reference, I have straight, healthy, normal amount of oil/dryness, non-colored hair that falls below my shoulders. This shampoo/conditioner combo as far as my hair is concerned is below average to begin with. My hair looks ok after I use it but not great and the conditioner leaves a gross film no matter how much I rinse. I have eczema on my hands and usually shampoos do not upset it much due to the very short duration they are in contact. This shampoo/conditioner combo however flared up my eczema immediatly and even worse, every time I would run my fingers through my hair it would fare up again because of the weird film. I had to actually take another shower and wash my hair really well with another shampoo and then I was fine. I see other reviewers have had allergic/eczema reactions as well. I do caution use of this product to those with contact allergies/sensitive skin/eczema and so on as there seems to be a rather strong irritant in this product (I would love to know what it is) I thankfully did not lose any hair and there is no lasting damage but yikes.Amanda

This is my favorite conditioner ever!!! If you have hair extentions it keeps them soft and beautiful without weighing it down at all. Just make sure not to use it on your bonds but below them as not to loosen the bonds. When im not wearing extentions i still love to use this as it detangles my hair so fast. Love love love this product! No issues at all with service or shipping. This is one product i had to give a 5 star rating to. I will be ordering this product again for both myself and my daughter.
