Best Shampoo For Blonde Balayage Hair (2024 Update)

I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I tried some different shampoos and conditioners and none seemed better than the others. I was having a particular problem with tangles when my hair was wet. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I would still love a fragrance free or more subtle natural fragrance option but it is getting the results I wanted so I plan to keep using it.Lucy

I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. This shampoo leaves my hair silky, smooth and doesn't fade my colored hair either. While Opalex made my hair feel like straw hair. I highly recommend this shampoo if you want silky smooth hair. If your a blonde and need a good purple shampoo. I highly recommend Biolage Purple shampoos. It's the best purple shampoo I've ever used and I've used many. My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! My hair last year was long to my belt loops. We thought was this because of coloring? Stopped coloring it last year, it's been growing out for awhile. I’ve been around the block when it comes to purple shampoos and this is one of the best ones I have tried, if not the best. I think one of the most annoying things about purple shampoos is how drying they can be on the hair but after using this my hair actually felt more hydrated. The toning on my hair was pretty significant as well, even without having my hair done in 4 months. When using purple shampoo I like to let it sit on my hair for a few minutes in the shower before rinsing off. I’ll admit I didn’t have high hopes for this but after using it it will definitely be a new staple in my routine! If you’re on the fence about trying this because you feel like you’ve tried all the purple shampoos on the market like I have, just try this one- trust me you won’t regret it!brittbabee

I received this product for free from Pinch Me for my honest review. I absolutely love the Verb Purple Shampoo. It definitely lives up to its claim of Cleanse, Tone & Brighten. My highlighted hair has grown out quite a bit. I need to get my roots down. This shampoo really did brighten & tone my blonde & Grey hair. I was shocked because my hair has grown out so much. Once I lathered, my hair felt sneaky clean when I rinsed. Not gonna lie, I was a little worried it had dried out my hair but not at all dry. My hair was brighter, full, & manageable. I received Verb Purple Shampoo as a sample from PinchMe and I can honestly say that this is hands down probably my favorite sample I've received this far. I ALWAYS wash my hair once a week, but at times twice a week and condition it every day. However, since using Verb Purple Shampoo I have only been washing once a week and the biggest shocker is I haven't had to condition my hair at all. Which is a HUGE shock to me because I have long, thick and curly hair that requires some attention and upkeep. I got this product due to a lot of good reviews. I use professional purple shampoo but ran out so figured id give this a go. MISTAKE. After 3 uses my hair is falling out in huge clumps, like cleaning your hairbrush once a month clumps. It's horrible! The smell is so chemical smelling and when trying to wash it out my hair felt like straw and I couldn't even put my fingers through it!!! I had to add conditioner on top of the shampoo just to be able to break through and wash the shampoo out. Worst mistake and I'm taking it back to ulta. Why is this product even a best seller? Be careful and mindful when purchasing this do your research on the ingredients and what is used to make this product work as I wasn’t aware it would quit literally strip my hair of thousands of dollars worth of work away from my hair …. this product has like a lightning agent in it as it bleached my roots and made my hair super ugly …. and quit literally damaged your hair it did this in as little as 3 minutes for me … so be careful not sure who this product work for ? Or why or what it’s intent is ?? but I thought it was a toner but it does the opposite it like strips / bleached ur hair leaving more work to be done … and patches !! so for the past around 8 years I've been using Shimmer Lights, since everyone would recommend that to me. Recently I tried Matrix purple shampoo, which worked the same way as shimmer lights. Where if you leave it on too long, you get purple hair… and I thought that was the case with all purple shampoo. Until I watched a Brad Mondo video and he reviewed this shampoo and it looked great in the video. But was it in real life…? My hair is a little yellow too after the bleach, which the shimmer lights, would just turn it to purple, which I thought was better then yellow. Finally tried this shampoo, and it takes a couple uses, esp since I had tinted purple hair as well. But it became a nice white platinum color as stated. Which was super shocking to me, that it never left any tint of purple, no matter how long it was on for. Brad mondo, referred to the scent as candy, i would say it's more of a floral scent. It was recommended to me that these product will keep my white hair less yellow as it grows in. It has made a very dramatic difference. I LOVE my white hair. I have received many compliments and question to the color I'm using. I'm proud to say it is my natural color. Recently, I ordered on-line and took advantage of promotion sale. I couldn’t figure out why my hair was falling out. I stopped using this shampoo out of pure laziness for 2 weeks, when I started using it again I then noticed it’s this shampoo causing my hair loss. For me, this product is an absolute winner. I have ashy highlights which just love love love to go yellow on me. In one shampoo, leaving it on for just one minute, it toned them down. By the second, leaving it on for two minutes, they're almost perfect. Next time, I will leave it on for the full three minutes, but I preferred to go slowly just in case my results were not as expected. My highlights look so good, it looks as though I went to the salon and got them toned. That is how good it is. A few tips for those who have complained about this shampoo. First, it is Sulfate free AND silicone free. It is a color toning shampoo, NOT a conditioning shampoo. I shampooed right before using it with Living Proof Restore, and then did a solid, good conditioning, my hair was left in great shape. It also lathered just fine. If you hair is full of silicone residue, then maybe this shampoo is not enough to remove it. If you are not used to a sulfate and silicone free shampoo, you may feel like your hair is straw, but honestly, it feels like many other sulfate and silicone free shampoos if you don't condition. If you want a conditioning type of product there are other purple shampoos and conditioners that promise more conditioning. I LIKE this one BECAUSE I can then continue to use my own conditioning regimen. Second, I wore gloves just to be sure the first time. No purple lingered on my hands at all, but, I was sure to rinse them off after applying and lathering and again after rinsing. I'm SO HAPPY I went through with buying this product. I was extremely hesitant after reading all the reviews about how it stained peoples hands/scalp, caused burns, and caused hair loss. The back of the bottle does recommend spot testing first to make sure you don't have a reaction, so if you're worried about that then definitely do a little test first. It did leave my hands a bit purple, but the purple washed off after the rest of my shower and it's definitely worth it for how good my hair looks now. I have not experienced any of the other symptoms, and this product has taken the gross yellow tone out of my bleached hair, and it looks like I just got it toned at the salon! It also looks and feels so incredibly healthy even though it has been bleached. I've already had people comment on how good and shiny it looks, and I've only used it twice. THE most effective toning shampoo I’ve ever tried! I am a big fan of [brand:olaplex] products (with the exception of and [brand:olaplex] No 6 Bond Smoother 100Ml). I’ve used multiple bottles of the [brand:olaplex] No 4 Bond Maintenancetm Shampoo Mini 33 Oz/ 100 Ml before, so I was excited to try this purple toning version. I use this as much normally would when on the shampoo step, maybe I let it sit a couple minutes more but does not take much time to make a difference in terms of neutralizing any warmth. I only shampoo my base and not the ends, rinsing the shampoo out is enough to cleanse my ends. My hair feels thoroughly cleansed, silky, and hydrated. This formula is gentle and does not make my hair dry or difficult to comb out. The formula is perfect thick and lathers very nicely. I would this this is most effective for level 9/10 blondes, but perhaps would neutralize subtly on darker levels. Be prepared to rinse your shower down bc you will get dark purple spatter from using. I have not noticed any staining to my shower walls.andria.k

I have been using the Goldwell Dual senses shampoo and conditioner for blonde/highlighted hair for less than a month. However, on the first use (this was in the salon) my hair looked instantly better. It was smooth, no build up, shiny, soft and manageable. Prior to this my hair looked unclean, had serious build up, and was difficult to manage. Another plus is that you only need to use a very small amount. A little goes a long way, which is not the case with cheaper store products. This product gave me back sleek, long beautiful hair. I definitely recommend giving it a try. This shampoo lives up to its name! Very impressed. I used Redken long ago but it’s been years since I purchased the brand since I’m always trying new and innovative products. When I received this High Bright line the timing couldn’t have been better and my hair is very light blonde, and I’ve been working hard to combat it becoming brassy from mineral deposits in my well water. Initially I thought this shampoo would have a tint (I assumed blue/purple toning element) so I was surprised to see this was clear. The consistency is thick like a jelly but with major slip. It’s quite a different feeling, but it suds up very well on my scalp. I only wash my hair twice per week so it does get quite greasy but fortunately this cuts through that even without a double wash. I can tell when rinsing out my hair feels smooth even before conditioning to seal everything. The scent is also so delicious- almost like a unisex almost a light cologne scent but not too masculine. I’m combination with the High Bright conditioner, after washing drying and styling as normal I can say that my hair is softer and shinier than it has been in a very long time! Like so shiny it’s what I have been desperately looking for in a product. I’m not sure of the ingredients that make my hair look light and bright, but it is effective and leaves it with a super clean feel (no weight). Will definitely repurchase when I run out. I’ll start by saying I have used many Redken products in the past and I have always been very impressed with this line. It’s also one of the more affordable professional salon brands out there and I highly recommend the brand overall! When I first tried this shampoo I used it in conjunction with the pre treatment spray and conditioner. Using all three of these products together definitely gave the best results! I also used this shampoo without the pre treatment and it still gave a good brightness to my blonde on its own!At first I expected this to be a purple toning shampoo, especially based on the color of the bottle but this in NOT a purple toning shampoo! However this does help to cut brass tones just the same way purple toning shampoos do. The difference is that this does a lot more than just tone! It brightens the blondes and keeps it healthy, shiny and not dried out or hard to manage! I think this is a great shampoo for regular use on blondes since it does keep it healthy and manageable. Unlike purple toning shampoos that should be used less frequently in blonde hair as causes the hair to be dry and frizzy if used too frequently. Just like the High Bright pre-treatment and shampoo, this conditioner is a stellar product! I’m so happy Influenster sent this to me otherwise I may not have tried this line. I was a big Redken fan years ago, but have just wanted to try so many other big lines and new products that I hadn’t gone back to Redken. These products used together are absolutely effective and love you to the claim of bight blonde results. My community well water leaves trace mineral deposits that full my hair and also make it feel brittle, so when I go to my hair girl every 12 weeks she works hard to bleach and tone me (my ends especially) to brighten me up again. I’m a level 9/10, so any products that help are a big plus. What I love about this product is not only the beautiful package and lovely unisex scent, but this conditioner has no toning elements it’s white not blue/purple, and it’s thick like a mask instead of a typical conditioner. I apply after shampooing and let sit for 5-10 minutes while I finish up my shower and rinse out right at the end. Oh my gosh this not only makes my hair look bright and shiny, but My hair is so so soft and smooth. I’m shocked. My hair is softer than it has been in a very long time, even though I use other prestigious hair care products that claim to hydrate. My ends especially need extra moisture and wow do they look great. Regardless if I heat style or air dry, my hair looks smooth with less frizz than before, and so soft. I’m obsessed! Excellent! Used in conjunction with the Lazer Straight Shampoo this Conditioner leaves my hair so soft and smooth. I feel like I've given my hair a deep treatment every time I wash my hair. I use this product mainly to control the dreaded grey frizz and maintain the moisture in my hair. My natural wave has improved and my hair shines. No more dull. And the smell of caramel is on another level, you will be fighting yourself not to wash your hair more often just for that experience. I have very fine hair that is highlighted. After washing my hair with Boosta shampoo and conditioner, I spritz this on. Great results with volume and beachy waves that hold. Docked a star because the smell is a bit strong on the harsher side – almost like pickles! It doesn't seem to make my hair smell but it's a bit rough when it is sprayed. Out of 3 blonde shampoos, this is honestly the best I've tried. I was set on the Paul Mitchell violet shampoos when I began highlighting my hair, once I went full platinum I stocked up on the Not Your Mother's blonde shampoo, but none really seemed to keep my color 'natural' looking or vibrant. I actually received 2 sample bottles of this from Ulta's beauty bag promotion, and I am stretching it out as far as I can! I've actually found that I really do *not* want to go back to the PM or Not Your Mother's products after this, they simply don't cut it. Being platinum requires a lot of upkeep and I believe this particular brand does deliver the "perfect blonde". My hair, with other products, tends to fade to a yellowish uneven looking blonde after several months, something I'm not satisfied with; using this product I noticed an immediate result and my hair looked more ashy after wash rather than a yellow or gold. It keeps my platinum looking vibrant but I would NOT recommend for daily use! I try to shower every 3 days so I don't strip the color from my hair, and use this every other wash. Be sure to actually leave the product on your hair for the allotted time as it actually does need the time to absorb. Beware! It WILL tint your hands! I used a bit too much one wash and it also left a purple tint in a few spots on my hair, however this was not a permanent nor lasting effect. To deter from the purple, I, like other users, mix this in with my daily shampoo to create a lather. Highly recommend this shampoo to those who are unhappy with the way their salon blonde is fading//having trouble keeping the proper blonde after washing. I had been on a personal quest to find my perfect purple shampoo for over 5 years, so I have tried many different products ranging from high to low price tags. Pravana was recommended to me by a friend about 9 months ago, I purchased both the shampoo conditioner (for less than $30 I believe) I can honestly say I have found my favorite purple product! I used the product initially like the bottle says, lather and then rinse. However that was not long enough. I don't have super yellow hair to be honest. Its a pretty dull blonde but still super blonde. I wanted a more ashy, calm blonde, whatever that means. Anyway i found what worked for me after (three times!) was leaving it in 10 minutes. Everyone's hair is different but I left it in for ten minutes twice and finally got the result I wanted. I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). I bought this yesterday and washed my hair and it was soft and super shiny. Dampened my hair the next day and blow dryer it and it is fantastic! My color is so vibrant! For those that reviewed and don't see any highlighting results could be because of build up if you use a lot of products. I haven't tried it but maybe do the Sunday shampoo and then the Blonde shampoo. I am multiracial and color my own hair and this has worked wonders. I love this brand anyways. It never fails! I am a big Bumble and Bumble fan so naturally I was very excited to see they now have a purple line for blondes. I’ve tried a ton of purple shampoos over the years and this one is good! It smells good and the smell lingers for a while. It’s also the perfect richness as far as color goes. Lots of purple shampoos aren’t dark enough and therefore don’t do a good job at actually cancelling out the brass. Not this one! I think you get a good amount of product for the price. My only complaint is that it does leave my hair feeling a bit on the dry side which is very typical for a purple shampoo. I see that they also have a conditioner in the purple line that I will be grabbing next to hopefully fix that problem. Since most shampoos and conditioners work best as a system, I’ll bet that help! I wish this had existed decades ago. I'm a natural brunette who has been every color in the rainbow and has fought unwanted reddish orange undertones. I'm 51 and have been coloring my hair since 13. I hate most Ash boxed dyes as they are harsh looking. I recently bleached out several years of black dude from my now salt and pepper hair, suffered with a too light for me blonde because of damage, and was finally able to get to a dark ash blonde only to see it become orangey after a week. Enter this shampoo. I lathered up, let it sit while I washed and shaved, rinsed, conditioned and dried my hair. It looked amazing! And it felt great too! I've seen others use this on YouTube and you can plainly see their after results leaves their hair looking in better condition than before. That's what prompted me to try this one. When I think of decades of living with beautiful brown shades that went reddish orange, it's maddening. All I needed was this. For the record, when I was a lighter blonde this worked too in conjunction with a purple shampoo, but now that I'm a darker blonde this is all I need. Would definitely buy again.Kat

I never really write reviews unless I believe in the product. And let me tell you I've only used this product for one day and absolutely love it! I'm usually a Redken frizz dismiss person but I figured I would try something new based on the reviews. I ran out of redken during this quarantine and ended up having to use drug store shampoo for awhile until I got my order. My hair was so dry and stringy and hard to brush because of it. I couldn't wait to use the shampoo and conditioner to relief my hair and it was so instantaneous!! As soon as I rinsed out the conditioner my hair felt so quenched and smooth! When I dried it out (only with a blow dryer and brush!) my hair was so soft and easy to run my fingers through. It never got tangled and I honestly couldn't stop touching my hair. Even my fiancée and I woke up to my hair being so nice and soft this morning! We were both amazed! I also had a balayage a few months ago that I let grow out. And this product really brightened my hair up just from one wash. It has a great salon smell too. Not too over powering but not to the point you can't smell it. Wow!! This is the best purple shampoo I have ever used. I just had my hair bleached again and my stylist recommended this shampoo to me. When i used it, I accidentally left it on a couple minutes more than the recommended 2-3 minutes and I was terrified it was going to be a disaster. I have a bayalage with my natural dark warm blonde at the top/middle fading into very bleached hair. Anyone who has had their hair like this knows your natural hair won't change tone like the bleached hair will, and I've had purple shampoos leave me with a mess of warm dark blonde with super grey/silver on the lighter parts, with muddiness and patchiness until I washed it a couple more times. After rinsing and drying my hair, I saw that while it did remove the warmth from my bleached ends and highlights, somehow it melted all the shades together beautifully and there is no patchiness between the differing shades. This is a winner and I doubt I'll change to another purple shampoo now that I've found this. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for a really high quality purple shampoo!Emily

I love this product, it keeps my hair the beautiful blond that it was meant to be after having it colored. The shade of blond from different products used to make my color look brassy and just plain ugly. This is the best color protector shampoo that I have used. I am a 69 year old blonde with graying hair that is very fine. I have been using this shampoo for a year now and absolutely love what it does for my hair. I stopped getting it colored about three years ago and I've got to say since I started using this shampoo, I have been getting plenty of compliments on my hair color. It seems to get rid of the brassy tones and evens out the color, my hair is now soft and shiny. I also use the KMS Color Vitality for Blondes conditioner. Love that, too. I've used this conditioner for several years and I love it. I have very thick hair that gets lots of knots and tangles. I put this conditioner on in the shower and use a wet/dry brush to comb it through my hair. After rinsing it out, my hair is silky smooth with no tangles. I don't need much conditioner so a large bottle lasts a long time.Jani

To be honest I think it left my hair more brassier than it should be. It was a baylage that needed some help because it was getting brassy so I picked this product. I regret it because I think it made the blonde in my hair darker and brassier. When you have product in your hand its like a purple/blue color, once you have it in your hair it’s purple for a couple seconds and once you lather it into your hair the shampoo’s soap bubbles it’s white? If that makes sense. I feel like it does nothing but make my hair dryer and more brassier. I would pass on this purple shampoo.Sofia

When I first bought this shampoo, I was hoping it would work and be different from all the "other purple 💜 shampoos" out there that claim to tone down the brassiness in your hair. It’s official, I have found my new favorite purple shampoo! I love Nexxus so I couldn’t wait to try their purple shampoo on my hair. I have colored hair so it tends to get brassy overtime in the highlights, with just ONE wash it toned the highlights right back to their beautiful tone they should be and left my hair feeling healthy and soft. This shampoo smells fantastic and you don’t have to use much to get the desired effect. I think that for the quality of Nexxus it’s an absolute must have for blondes. Overall, I am very happy with the Supernova Blonde Toning shampoo, however, I am not fully blonde and only have partial-saturation balayage highlights. The product leaves my hair feeling clean but not overly stripped like many shampoos out there. I am confident that you could use this daily with no issues, however, I personally use two dime-sized amounts once a week (per Brad's instruction on his YouTube). Instructions for use are noticeably absent from the back of the bottle, which I would like to see on all XMONDO products in the future just so I know I'm doing the right thing, but for now, Brad's separate instructions for how to use any shampoo work just fine. The scent, as with all XMONDO products, was amazing and lingered on my hair just enough to cover up the natural oil smell of your hair, but the scent wasn't overly powerful at all, and I think anyone who is particularly sensitive to fragrance will be just fine. The product is a little watery compared to most shampoos I have used, and I would like to see future versions be a little thicker as I notice I tend to lose a bit to my shower floor since it is runny. This is a minor concern, and it's not like the shampoo is the consistency of water or anything, it could just stand to be a little thicker. Next: the clear absence of surfactants (for reference, these are the chemical compounds that make a product lather in your hair, for example, shampoos usually have quite a bit of these in them, and conditioners have none or almost none.) Brad has stated before that he uses surfactants in his shampoos but not as much as other companies since they are unnecessary to the function of the product. I believe this is true for every shampoo from XMONDO except for this one. In general, you really only need to shampoo your scalp and roots, and the rest of your hair will get washed as you rinse out the shampoo. However, since this is a color-care product, even distribution throughout the scalp, mids, and ends is necessary so you can cool-tone all of your hair instead of just your scalp. As a result, I wish this shampoo had enough surfactants so that I could successfully lather all of my hair with the product in much less time than it currently takes. My final note is on the packaging. This (to my knowledge) is the only XMONDO shampoo that comes in a pump bottle (like lotion) rather than a squeeze bottle (like conditioner). I love the idea of a pump bottle, it makes it so much easier to dispense the product, however, this is clearly a low-quality pump. Rather than be completely sealed, the pump is open to the inside of the bottle, which allows product to slowly come out over time onto the pump, it won't leak everywhere though, and I haven't lost any product as a result, it's more of an aesthetics and neatness thing. If you travel with this shampoo or have to put it in a bag, definitely put it in a Ziploc bag too. You cant twist the pump to turn it off like on most pump bottles, which isn't super necessary but I would like to see nicer pumps on the packaging next time around. I found this out after having some of the product leak in my suitcase, but I can't really complain about having my luggage smell like XMONDO as the scent is amazing. Regarding the products ability to tone hair: It does amazing things for my hair. Keep in mind I have balayage highlights and not fully blonde hair, but for me at least, it has extended the life of my color far beyond how long I thought it would last, and has prevented it from becoming brassy for months now. Even though I wrote a harsh review, it's only because XMONDO produces great products at a high price point, so I have high standards. For those of you not here for a long review… I'll just say that this product will give you everything that you want and more. My hair literally felt smoother, softer, and more healthy than it ever has after using this product, and that's not even what it's for! It was like getting a conditioner mask put on your head while you're shampooing and the results were amazing! My hair looks more vibrant than it has in I don't know how long. For the longer story goers: I didn't know anything about Brad until this year when I found him on Snapchat, since then I have watched every single one of his videos on YouTube and anywhere else I can find him for tips, tricks, and laughs. This is the first XMONDO product I have ever tried, and I am obsessed with it. Honestly I'm contemplating switching all of my products over to this line at this point because I'm so amazed at the results that I got. They are ok… I do love the smell though, so kudos on that! I got them right after being at the salon, so not sure how well they will perform after I start to "yellow". I have used them twice since I have gotten them. Two things I have noticed. First is getting the pump to work smoothly. It is very difficult to pump them, and then they take a long time to "reload" to get the next pump, if that is what you want to call it LOL! I also expected them to work together to condition better. My hair feels very dry and like straw after using them. Yes I am bleach blond, but my hair is pretty healthy and I do not bleach at home. My hair feels softer when I used my normal conditioner (I use the same conditioner no matter which of my other purple shampoos I currently rotate and use because it works very well with my hair). All in all for the price, and for being Brad Mondo (LOVE), I was really expecting more, so I'm sad. I doubt I will be ordering it again once I use it all, unless I can see it take out the yellow super well when I do yellow between appointments to the salon.On another note, I was super excited to see it came with stickers on other reviews! Low and behold, mine did not come with stickers. Very sad. I have naturally wavy, dry, and fine hair. Because life has been so busy the past year (earlier this year I had my 4th child), I have been neglecting my hair. I have been using inexpensive drugstore shampoo and it has unfortunately left my hair very dry and lackluster. I've noticed my hair has become "crispy" and almosty feels like rope. I was wondering if I needed to get a clarifying shampoo or professional moisturizing treatment. After just a few weeks of using Nexxus Hydra-Light shampoo, my hair has significantly improved. It is much softer, bouncier, and looks healthy. I no longer feel there is a waxy film on my hair from the cheap stuff. I've also noticed I have more volume, probably because my hair is more clean. The scent is very pleasant and not overpowering as well. Would recommend this shampoo to anyone whose hair may have become unmanageable from overuse of cheap hair products.eljdegu

I tried this shampoo looking for product that would add volume to my fine/medium density hair and because I heard great things. This shampoo made my hair feel like straw after; it was incredibly staticky, dull, and had absolutely no volume. I followed up with the conditioner, and it felt like I hadn't put conditioner in my hair at all. After doing some research, I found out why: This shampoo contains sodium laureth sulfate or sulfate. It is extremely drying and strips your hair of natural oils; however, the effects of sulfate can be negated with a conditioner that uses silicone (a synthetic oil that is bad for the environment as it does not break down). The matching conditioner does not have silicone to recoat your hair, leaving it dry and brittle from the damaging effects of the shampoo. Ideally, you don't want sulfate or silicone in your hair. I don't know why this line would tote not having silicone but then still use sulfate. It's just setting your hair up for damage. I thought I would add what I found for anyone considering using this line, especially if you have sensitive scalp/hair. I believe nexxus does have some sulfate free shampoos.MichelleK103

Giving this 3 star review for the good toning this shampoo gave BUT made my hair a complete tangled mess even though I detangled just prior to shampooing. I had to use a heavy duty conditioning mask after just to untangle. The next time I used this, I mixed it with an argan oil shampoo and worked better but did not tone as well. This is this only purple shampoo I use. Very nice smell. Long lasting. I leave it on for a couple of minutes and that’s it. It’s strong and will stain purple. It lathers very well. Would recommendmisty.m

This product has been a life saver when trying to add additional pigment to blonde hair. I find that it adds a perfect amount of purple to offset any yellow tones in between washes. I use it after my normal shampoo on days when I need a deeper cleanse. It doesn't dry out my hair and I really love the light fragrance in it.ness.p

I liked that this shampoo and conditioner knocked the black right out of my dyed hair with in 4 full massaging washes. I could see it all fade out in the rinse and my hair revamped it’s natural beauty with in 24 hours of adding vE to the tips. Good stuff – wished the bottles were in a larger size. This purple shampoo is doing great to help my bleached highlights to turn and stay in grey color as it should be! The cons is just the coloring would really stain your hands with a slight blue/purple tint. Wear gloves if you want, but i just use it with bear hands. The packaging is great you can defiantly tell it’s a good quality product from that. The smell, can’t quite put my finger on what it reminds me of but it does smell good. I had a little staining to my hands but no where near as I have had with other products (Does say to wear gloves if you don’t want staining). Lathered up well and made my hair feel clean and fresh after. As for the colour it defiantly took some of the yellow tones out after one use. Think I will try leaving it on for a little longer as I usually do with other products. Also it being silicone free makes it a yes for me.Sam

I absolutely love this shampoo and I’m so glad I’ve found a shampoo that does as it says! This shampoo is very very pigmented, and because of that it does stain (fingers, hands, tiles, etc..) If you rinse it off immediately then it will wash off tiles but it can stain nails for a couple days. The first time I used it I left it on my hair for around 2 minutes and it did take away the yellow at my roots and left my hair almost white, but the 2nd time I used it, the shampoo left my hair grey in places after leaving it on for 5 minutes, so definitely be weary of times when applying. I don’t mind this, but I know others may not like this effect as much. This product absolutely blows others out of the water. I’ve used a lot of toners, toning shampoos etc and this one is the only one I’ve found that works so effectively in removing brassiness/yellow tones from bleached blonde hair. The price is fair for the quality of the product. I have long hair and reckon this bottle would last around 10 washes.Jade

I've tried lots of violet shampoo/conditioners to take out the brassiness of my blonde highlights. I discovered Fudge several years ago and it works wonders but it's sometimes hard to find in the USA. I prefer the shampoo over conditioner because I like my own conditioner for keeping my hair sleek and frizz-free. The key to this shampoo is to not leave it on too long…5 minutes is perfect to remove the brass without leaving your hair looking bluish/purple. Yes, your cuticles will turn purple right after rubbing it through your hair but if you use a fingernail brush and some body soap right away in the shower, it comes right now. I also have a lot of platinum blonde highlights and this makes them even brighter. Seller was great…shipping was quick and well-packaged. Highly Recommended!Teresa v.Y.
