First hand experience here *pun intended* The smell of it wasn't gross like some other brands (looking at you Clairol Shimmer Lights). It actually will turn your hair ashy! I left this stuff on for ten minutes and I had that beautiful ash (almost purple tone) to it, which I don't mind. Less time left on, you'll still see results. This shampoo is amazing. Ive recently bleached my own hair and then had highlights and still had a very yellow colour due to my hair being box dyed brown for so long. I tried toners I tried other purple shampoos but nothing worked. I tried this and the first time the difference was amazing. I used it again yesterday and its even better. It does dry hair up like most of these things but Ive been going through a process with other well known repairing products which means Its cancelling out the dryness from using this. The product is very purple And like others say it does stain your hands but Ive found after standing in the shower while the shampoo is on I dont really notice it on my hands anymore once Im done. So my hair was damaged from bad salon experience and left there with blonde hair alright but also alotta my hair falling out too…. More than I should’ve had. I’ve had it done before I know what’s normal and not for this process but it Has taken me months and months to regain some of the structure and strength back but only from using products like this. I have huge blonde hair care regiment but recently was sent this samples from Pinchme.com and I fell in love with this product the moroccanoil blonde perfecting shampoo and conditioner color care. I could tell after one use the different in my strands as far as they felt fuller softer and a lot stronger too. I have already purchased my own and is in its way in the mail as we speak. But I can’t say enough about the shampoo seriously the strength added to my hair after using and the toning feature was amazing. I have different depths of blonde and I felt that this made those lighter money pieces that perfect icy I’ve been looking for + strengthening in other product and only found here. Others I have to use separate product .. with moraccanoil u get it all in one tube!! Smell is beautiful the product color is rich purple and it won’t leave ur hair heavy or with residue. But clean and healthy feeling. I used as shampoo then rinsed … swueeze out all water from hair with hands and reapply from front hair line back to ur ends and massage thru without sudsing up the product and leave set for 10/15 minutes depending on how porous ur hair is. (Do this for more toning effect) Mines was needing toned again and is pretty porous so I left in longer… but not too long. Anyhow I’d recommend to anyone who has chemically treated and or damaged hair needing give it some TLC. Price is fair considering other brand and they dint work as well as this one trust me.. I think this is the combo for me! Today is my first day using the Moroccanoil Purple Shampoo and the Moroccanoil Purple Conditioner, and here's my thoughts: Both the shampoo and conditioner have a rich purple color, which is nice since most conditioners I've tried in the past are much lighter in color compared to their shampoo counterpart. Both smell really nice, too. I left the shampoo in for about 5 minutes, rinsed, and then I left the conditioner in for probably 5+ minutes before I rinsed with cold water. This is the best toning combination I've ever tried. After one use, I can definitely tell the difference in less brassiness. I wouldn't recommend leaving both products in as long as I did, however – I purposely did so to see if I could get a dramatic result, and a few strands have a very light violet/gray tone to them, which I love! I will definitely be buying both the shampoo and conditioner soon since I think both will help keep my hair healthy and a nice shade of blondechopper923
It has got rich, creamy and lathering texture, don’t need to use a lot of product and it lathers through the hair well. The colour is brightly deep purple and pigmented. The scent feels a bit strong during washing but after washing and through the day hair smell nice, refreshed and fragrance is mild. After washing hair is easy to brush but once hair is dry combing is a bit harder, hair feels dry and like straws therefore it causes some hair breakage. There is much difference in hair tone, hair looks much brighter, shiner, radiant, lighter and improved in colour. On the second day hair still feels clean and fresh in scent, however I have noticed that this shampoo dries out hair and strips off it’s natural moisture. Another minus for this product that it stains under nails and some dry skin areas which takes time to wash off. I would not use this product frequently but occasionally (once a week or once in two weeks). But I would definitely recommend for colour improvement, brightening and lightening dullness in colour.irina.g

I couldn’t figure out why my hair was falling out. I stopped using this shampoo out of pure laziness for 2 weeks, when I started using it again I then noticed it’s this shampoo causing my hair loss. I wanted to try blue toning shampoo and bought the trial sizes to give this a shot. I have always used purple and saw very little results. I read the directions very quickly, I didn't use gloves and I used a white towel to try my hair. I didn't even think of the blue color that was deposited into my hair I used this product for the first time yesterday and all I can say is WOW! I did see blue everywhere but it didn't stain my shower, hands, nails or my towels. My highlights looked brighter and I think I even saw more of them and I was impressed with just one use. The smell was nice but I thought it was too strong but once you dry your hair the smell disappears. Not sure if I will use this shampoo more than maybe once or twice a week because I don't want to darken my highlight I just want to see less brass and red. If you are hesitant to try this product because of the blue color you could use gloves and I would definitely use it in the shower so that the product washes out once it hits the floor you could even keep a brush in your shower if you want to make sure no blue residue lingers behind. I haven't changed anything in my hair care routine except this. The first time I used it, meh it did the job and made my hair a lot brighter. Mind you I only use this twice a month because purple shampoo is so harsh. The second time I used this, HOLY DRYNESS. It literally sucked every bit of moisture out of my hair and turned my hair silver, which was fine, but I looked like a hag due to the frizz. I've never experienced such harshness from a product. I've had to completely reset my hair by not putting any heat or this shampoo on my hair for a month. It ruined my hair for my graduation and I couldn't be anymore disappointed in this product. This shampoo from Redken smells amazing. To me it smells like a soft cologne scent. This shampoo looks so cool..it is purple. The product felt soft on my hands and in my hair. It does say to appy wearing gloves but I did not wear gloves. The shampoo did not stain my hands. My hair is very yellow blonde and very warm tone and this shampoo did work. After I blowed dried my hair I could see that my hair was a bit more cooler blonde and the yellow and brassiness was tone downed. I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 because I wish when washing my hair the shampoo foamed more. I received this product in exchange for a review. This product works pretty well but not out of the ballpark amazing. I am 6 months pregnant right now and currently have a hard time keeping up on my platinum blonde hair. That being said thai product is pretty concentrated and does it's job pretty well for the ends of my hair that are still very much blonde. I really don't like the smell of this shampoo I think it is overwhelmingly resemblance of being in a salon and am pretty glad the scent does not continue far beyond the rinse. As for if it improved my hair structure I would say I didn't see any improvement there at all but I still have a full bottle despite using it daily. The yellow tone though is pretty much gone though. I would recommend it if it were drastically price cut because the price tag associated with this product is way too high in my opinion I've used other products under 10 dollars with the same results that you can easily pick up at your local store.Hefaroni26
I know the going trend is purple/grey platinum blonde, which I don't think this would be the best for, but if u want to keep your warmth without being brassy, this works better than any purple shampoos I've used. I have a lot of Irish heritage, pale skin and eyes, lots of light freckling in sun touched spots and firey red and gold inside my naturally brown follicles that shines very brightly in sun light. The warmth has become more pronounced with age and even the stripes of brunette that are left untouched after doing lightening balayage are a redening chestnut/auburn. the warm blonde really compliments my coloring so I'm not complaining, I just don't want it to be too yellow or too brassy. all of the other purple shampoos I have tried made my hair look almost green, even redken which I read was specifically recommended by experts for warm blondes, and it didn't matter how quick I rinsed it out after applying,, it clashed with my hair coloring so badly.. I hated it. I was so thrilled to try this and find it actually worked perfectly, no brassy-ness or ugly yellow, just perfectly golden honey warm blonde and auburn/chestnut. I love ash blonde and the purple tinted platinum but this happy accident of a warm hair color works better on me than I'd have imagined and I'm so thrilled to find a way to maintain it. idk about it being drying like some others said, I've found all purple shampoos to be a little drying, I assumed because they lather so well and also I do a pre-wash so there's no product impeding it. having color treated hair, I always add lots of super conditioning products, hydraters and proteins treatments before I'm done on wash day and also being a warm blonde, I only use purple shampoo once a month, preferably when it's time for a clarifying cleanse and I do an oil treatment the night before. I have been using the Goldwell Dual senses shampoo and conditioner for blonde/highlighted hair for less than a month. However, on the first use (this was in the salon) my hair looked instantly better. It was smooth, no build up, shiny, soft and manageable. Prior to this my hair looked unclean, had serious build up, and was difficult to manage. Another plus is that you only need to use a very small amount. I’ve been around the block when it comes to purple shampoos and this is one of the best ones I have tried, if not the best. I think one of the most annoying things about purple shampoos is how drying they can be on the hair but after using this my hair actually felt more hydrated. The toning on my hair was pretty significant as well, even without having my hair done in 4 months. When using purple shampoo I like to let it sit on my hair for a few minutes in the shower before rinsing off. I’ll admit I didn’t have high hopes for this but after using it it will definitely be a new staple in my routine! First time trying a purple shampoo that is not from a professional beauty brand and I am pleased! The scent is very nice and leaves your hair smelling wonderful! The color of the shampoo is very dark purple and contains a lot of pigment, which I like because it makes me feel like the product works better at knocking out the brass. This lathered better than other purple shampoos that I have tried. I have only used once and I already saw a change in the tone of my hair. It definitely works! I will continue to use to see even better results. The good thing is this is way more reasonably priced than other well known brands! I received this product complimentary in a voxbox. I will say this product definitely works. However I have red hair not blonde. It did strip out some of the darker tones in my hair making it lighter (I didn’t hate the end result). This shampoo is not recommended for red hair especially red hair that is dyed. Although most red dyes have purple deposits and red deposits in them the purple cancels out the yellow/ golden tones. Overall the product did as it described it smells amazing and you do definitely get results from day one. I have rated this five stars as I continually rebut this product. It’s always In my bathroom. I have naturally blonde hair which I do have coloured every few months to lighten it a little and this really helps to re brighten my hair. I will say however that I have to change my shampoo and conditioner regularly as it almost stops working on my hair but I do always go back to this product however I only use this a few times a month, and it helps maintain not only my colour but doesn’t strip my hair and make it feel dry when washed. I also love the biotin and collagen shampoo/conditioner by OGX, these are great products which can be used daily without the overuse of chemicals that lost shampoos have in them.katie.p

I actually really liked the way this product made my hair look. I was going for the silver/lavender color so it was perfect. Although, it didn't last long so I was using it about 2-3 times per week for the recommended amount of time in the instructions. I used it for a little over a month. I did notice my hair was getting dry and over time there was more and more hair in the shower drain after washing. I did conditioning treatments between uses thinking this would help but it didn't. My hair then started looking and feeling thinner. The next thing I knew there was a slight bald patch on the crown of my head. I panicked and stopped use immediately. After just 2 weeks of not using this product I can already tell my hair is healthier and there is no more hair coming out in the shower or my brush. Im not saying this will happen to everyone as there are plenty of good reviews on here. But if you notice that its drying out your hair or causing any breakage STOP USE immediately!! … can turn hair light purple if used too often. I highlight my hair very light and hate to see any tones of gold or red and I've tried multiple purple shampoos that can be very drying. This one is not as bad as the others in terms of drying my hair but it turns the lightest pieces lavender. I don't know if this happens to everyone but for me it did so I find that I don't use this for every shampoo and I suggest for people who do highlight their hair very blonde they shouldn't wash their hair too often because it's drying. I find that when I switch between this and a good clarifying shampoo, my color lasts longer without getting brassy and I just watch how long I keep it on the front really light pieces. I got this product due to a lot of good reviews. I use professional purple shampoo but ran out so figured id give this a go. MISTAKE. After 3 uses my hair is falling out in huge clumps, like cleaning your hairbrush once a month clumps. It's horrible! The smell is so chemical smelling and when trying to wash it out my hair felt like straw and I couldn't even put my fingers through it!!! I had to add conditioner on top of the shampoo just to be able to break through and wash the shampoo out. Worst mistake and I'm taking it back to ulta. Why is this product even a best seller? Be careful and mindful when purchasing this do your research on the ingredients and what is used to make this product work as I wasn’t aware it would quit literally strip my hair of thousands of dollars worth of work away from my hair …. this product has like a lightning agent in it as it bleached my roots and made my hair super ugly …. and quit literally damaged your hair it did this in as little as 3 minutes for me … so be careful not sure who this product work for ? Or why or what it’s intent is ?? but I thought it was a toner but it does the opposite it like strips / bleached ur hair leaving more work to be done … and patches !! so for the past around 8 years I've been using Shimmer Lights, since everyone would recommend that to me. Recently I tried Matrix purple shampoo, which worked the same way as shimmer lights. Where if you leave it on too long, you get purple hair… and I thought that was the case with all purple shampoo. Until I watched a Brad Mondo video and he reviewed this shampoo and it looked great in the video. But was it in real life…? My hair is a little yellow too after the bleach, which the shimmer lights, would just turn it to purple, which I thought was better then yellow. Finally tried this shampoo, and it takes a couple uses, esp since I had tinted purple hair as well. But it became a nice white platinum color as stated. Which was super shocking to me, that it never left any tint of purple, no matter how long it was on for. Brad mondo, referred to the scent as candy, i would say it's more of a floral scent. Doesn't feel as damaging as shimmer lights either. And around the same price range too, which is nice. I will definitely be turning over to this shampoo from now onJillian

Out of 3 blonde shampoos, this is honestly the best I've tried. I was set on the Paul Mitchell violet shampoos when I began highlighting my hair, once I went full platinum I stocked up on the Not Your Mother's blonde shampoo, but none really seemed to keep my color 'natural' looking or vibrant. I actually received 2 sample bottles of this from Ulta's beauty bag promotion, and I am stretching it out as far as I can! I've actually found that I really do *not* want to go back to the PM or Not Your Mother's products after this, they simply don't cut it. Being platinum requires a lot of upkeep and I believe this particular brand does deliver the "perfect blonde". My hair, with other products, tends to fade to a yellowish uneven looking blonde after several months, something I'm not satisfied with; using this product I noticed an immediate result and my hair looked more ashy after wash rather than a yellow or gold. It keeps my platinum looking vibrant but I would NOT recommend for daily use! I try to shower every 3 days so I don't strip the color from my hair, and use this every other wash. Be sure to actually leave the product on your hair for the allotted time as it actually does need the time to absorb. Beware! It WILL tint your hands! I used a bit too much one wash and it also left a purple tint in a few spots on my hair, however this was not a permanent nor lasting effect. To deter from the purple, I, like other users, mix this in with my daily shampoo to create a lather. Highly recommend this shampoo to those who are unhappy with the way their salon blonde is fading//having trouble keeping the proper blonde after washing. I used the product initially like the bottle says, lather and then rinse. However that was not long enough. I don't have super yellow hair to be honest. Its a pretty dull blonde but still super blonde. I wanted a more ashy, calm blonde, whatever that means. Anyway i found what worked for me after (three times!) was leaving it in 10 minutes. Everyone's hair is different but I left it in for ten minutes twice and finally got the result I wanted. Received the matrix Unbreak My Blonde Sulfate-Free Strengthening Shampoo as part of the trial and immediately loved the slimline packaging. The beautiful purple hued bottles look great in my shower. The smell is subtle and citrus; very refreshing without being overpowering. The shampoo comes out of the bottle easily and is quite thick in texture and I used about 1.5x the recommended amount for my fairly long hair. Although a thick formula, the product spreads easily and you get the feeling like it has reached every strand of hair, which I find not all shampoos do unless you use excessive amounts. After my initial wash, I didn’t notice any differences and felt my hair didn’t last as long as usual. However, with my subsequent uses, I can definitely get a few days out my hair. I’ve noticed that my hair feels soft to touch, and in particular, my ends seem brighter. Overall, my hair feels noticeably hydrated and shinier. My hair is fine, wavy, 6 month old balayage on the lengths with a very oily sensitive scalp that I need to wash daily. I've been using the shampoo, conditioner and Leave in treatment on and off for the past 2 weeks to see how it slots into my routine. I have to say I quite like it, the results of "unbreaking my hair" were not dramatic but it did take the crispy feeling from the ends of my hair down a notch. The conditioner is a thick consistency which smooths lovely over the hair. I was expecting it to be more conditioning from the claims, but it did the job. The scent of the product is hard to describe, kind of perfumey but not strong, with hints of a sweet lemon. It is quite subtle and you can not smell it for very long, which I like in a product. The packaging is a gorgeous purple shade and the slim bottles fit perfectly in my shower caddy, and its easily dispensed. There is a warning on the label for sunburn as the product contains AHAs, so that is something to consider especially in the summer if you are bad at applying body suncreens or burn easily. Would I purchase this product? As yet I'm undecided, I haven't seen the amazing results on my hair that I was expecting from the hype around citric acid hair products, and I have other conditioners that weigh my hair down less but are more moisturising. I bought this product with high hopes of improving the condition of my dyed blonde balayage hair before my next hairdresser's appointment. It wasn't in too bad of condition just a few split ends as I was due a trim but otherwise long and relatively healthy. I had used it for the first time and was underwhelmed, my hair felt a little dry afterwards but not awful, so I thought ill just leave the conditioner on a little longer next time. My gosh what a mistake that was my hair matted while wet in a way I've never seen it before, and it squeaked as I tried to brush it out. I'm still paying the price now my hair is in the worst condition it has ever been in! I am told by my stylist that I have fine hair but a lot of it. I was noticing that I was losing what looked like a lot of hair to me in the shower and in my brushes. I tried some different shampoos and conditioners and none seemed better than the others. I was having a particular problem with tangles when my hair was wet. I have very hard water so that is probably part of the issue. My sister has amazing hair, she grows it down to her waist and donates it to a wigs for kids program. She uses this shampoo and conditioner even though she doesn't color her hair so I tried it and it is working great for me. Detangles, my hair looks healthy, and I see less coming out in the shower and brushes. I use the shampoo and conditioner together every other day. On the in-between day I get it wet and just use a little conditioner from around where a low ponytail would be to the ends for detangling. I thought the fragrance was too strong at first but have gotten used to it now. I have tried many shampoos for my bleached blonde hair. This shampoo works amazing on my dry brittle hair. I personally think it works way better than Opalex. This shampoo leaves my hair silky, smooth and doesn't fade my colored hair either. While Opalex made my hair feel like straw hair. I highly recommend this shampoo if you want silky smooth hair. If your a blonde and need a good purple shampoo. I highly recommend Biolage Purple shampoos. It's the best purple shampoo I've ever used and I've used many. My hair has gotten extremely damaged from using OGX products that currently have a class action lawsuit against them for formaldehyde, cancer causing ingredients & instead of moisturizing & repairing it's drying it from the inside out, causing horrible damage you didn't see starting, until you have a ton of broken hair & even HAIR LOSS!! My hair last year was long to my belt loops. We thought was this because of coloring? Stopped coloring it last year, it's been growing out for awhile. I've been bleaching my hairs for years and have tried countless brands of purple shampoo. I've been told by my hairdresser that sulfates strip toner and to avoid shampoos with that ingredient. I noticed this shampoo had sulfates but I went ahead and tried it anyway because of all the good reviews. I've used it 3 times since my last bleach and tone, and my hair is A LOT more yellow than my appointment. I noticed after the first wash that my hair looked a little worse but I decided to try to keep using it and my toner literally vanished before my eyes. I definitely recommend a shampoo without sulfates (Joico is one example). This shampoo also dries out your hair causing it to build up grease not even 24 hours after showering. Made my hair nice when applied, thought everything was great. Beautiful lather….. then I wash it out. My hair felt so gummy it literally scared me. The product didn't really do anything for my hair. Will be returning. I have used the "Total Results So Silver Triple Power Hair Mask". It works great didn't dry my hair out at all. I try to stay away from Parabens, Silicones & Sulfates. I was so keen to try this product as I wanted a sulphate free shampoo to help define my naturally wavy/curly hair. After the first wash I instantly saw results with less frizz and more curls! But after the second wash my hair didn’t feel clean as the shampoo really struggles to lather up to cover the whole scalp. I was having to shampoo twice and used a lot of product. I then felt I had to wash my hair after a couple of days as it felt really dirty and greasy with a build up of product, I have thick hair and would usually wash my hair twice a week so had to go back to my old shampoo. I also used with the curl conditioner and styling crème which were great and work really well and I have kept using them. If they make some changes to this product then I’ll definitely come back to it.Emily

Unlike other color treatments, it will not leave your hair a brassy color. If that is the kind of blonde color you are looking for, additional products may need to be used. The John Frieda Go Blonder Shampoo works best when combined with the conditioner but can also be used alone if you can’t part ways with your conditioner. Although it is meant for everyday use, the product can leave your hair dry or add damage to your hair. No matter what other products I may cycle through, I use this every time I wash my hair and always have backups on hand! I'm a natural golden blonde, but my new growth can get dull in the winter when not exposed to sunlight as often, or with general buildup that we all get on our hair. This effectively cleanses my hair without making it feel stripped, while also providing juuuust the tiniest bit of extra lightening every wash! Pro tip: only the shampoo in this line contains an actual chemical lightening agent, not the conditioner, so this is all you need to see the effect. But it's such a low concentration, and rinsed out so much more quickly than salon lightening, that it will only ever be a subtle change. (And I'm not even sure it would do anything to hair darker than a level 7 or so…) You literally can't mess it up. I have mixed emotions for this product. Upon initial use, I fell in love with the smell but that was it. I wanted to love this so much, however, my hair fell like crazy in the shower. Came day 2, my hair didn’t fall that bad but I felt that the smell was too strong. I guess it’s safe to say that it’s heavily perfumed. Then came day 3 and so on.. I got used to the smell. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice. But it can be a bit too much for others. The consistency is also weird. While it does foam, I find that it’s jelly-like. I normally like a shampoo that’s a bit runny. This one just wasn’t. I don’t think it helped with toning my hair as well. After a while my scalp also felt itchy. Will I repurchase? Probably not but I’m open to trying their other shampoos.Regina
This purple shampoo is awesome! I bought this before I knew they carried the bigger bottles. I will definitely be back to purchase the bigger bottles of shampoo and conditioner. There’s a lot of negative reviews on this but you to each their own! I also see a lot of reviews with people who have blonde or lighter hair, but let me tell you, I’m a brunette and I absolutely love this. Why do I use purple instead of blue shampoo? Because I like warmer toned hair color. I originally had highlights that were beginning to get as orange as the rotting fall leaves. After fixing the color at home with DPHue at home, I really just wanted a low maintenance look and have my hair grow out. If you have dark hair, you really don’t have to dilute this shampoo out with your regular everyday shampoo (like it suggests on the bottle). If you have light hair, definitely recommend diluting it. I use this three times a week to start off with, then dialed it to twice and then finally once a week, once I achieved the tone I wanted. I love the smell that it leaves in my hair! It’s a light scent, and I like that it is I usually lather on the shampoo, working from the ends to the scalp. Why? The ends take it more of the product and it’s needed there more than the hair near your scalp. I also like that this product is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, gluten and drying alcohol. This shampoo and conditioner is meant for toning and toning only. Not for every day use. I would not recommend it for ever day use because 1) it’s spendy to use every day, and 2) there’s better products for every day use. My hair definitely feels stronger and looks healthier (less split ends) after about three weeks of use. Not sure how this shampoo worked for people. Obviously you’re buying this shampoo because you bleached and coloured your hair, so yes your hair already was damaged a bit. My hair wasn’t silky smooth to start, but it was decent and manageable and could style root to tip. Some of my highlights were turning a little orange and I was going out, I don’t use purple shampoo too often so I picked this up. I used it and left it on for about a minute (the smell was too strong and I didn’t want to smell like it plus it is very pigmented) conditioned with olaplex, and hopped out and air dried my hair (as usual). When brushing my hair, so much of it was breaking. Very slight split ends (since we bleached our hair right?) are curling up and extending up the follicle and breaking. I’m mortified and have to get my hair cut. I’ve been working really hard to keep my hair healthy and didn’t think one purple shampoo wash would destroy it this bad. Any purple shampoo will dry your hair out to an extent, but should never be to the point you have to chop your hair off. Just put the extra money and/or time on a better toning shampoo. This will remain my favorite purple shampoo! I love this stuff. I have medium/light(ish) blonde hair that tends to get brassy quick. I read the reviews on Amazon first before purchasing and fell in love. This shampoo is a deep deep purple, and it will stain your hands if you don't rinse them off. First hand experience here *pun intended* The smell of it wasn't gross like some other brands (looking at you Clairol Shimmer Lights). It actually will turn your hair ashy! I left this stuff on for ten minutes and I had that beautiful ash (almost purple tone) to it, which I don't mind. Less time left on, you'll still see results. This shampoo is amazing. Ive recently bleached my own hair and then had highlights and still had a very yellow colour due to my hair being box dyed brown for so long. I tried toners I tried other purple shampoos but nothing worked. I tried this and the first time the difference was amazing. I used it again yesterday and its even better. My hair is no longer yellow. It does dry hair up like most of these things but Ive been going through a process with other well known repairing products which means Its cancelling out the dryness from using this. The product is very purple And like others say it does stain your hands but Ive found after standing in the shower while the shampoo is on I dont really notice it on my hands anymore once Im done. I try to leave on for about 5 minutes but havent timed it so not sure. Put it this way it doesnt need long. No need to walk around the house for an hour wrapper in cling film to let it process. I primarily bought this brush set for metal ball eye cream applicator but I wound up loving all of the brushes in the set too. These were brushes that I never thought that I needed and wouldn’t use…but I was wrong. The lip scrub brush is amazing at getting the job done without getting the “goopy fingerâ€� from greasy scrubs. The dry brush is the perfect texture for light exfoliation, and doesn’t redden or irritate sensitive skin. The eye cream applicator feels amazing on tired, puffy eyes. I use the mask brush for primer application and I love how evenly it spreads the product. All of the brushes and the eye tool hold up to cleaning exceptionally well. The smell.of this shampoo is amazing. The size of the 250ml one as well is quite generous, so though it's a bit pricier pricier other well known purple shampoos, it will last me a lot longer so not much difference in the end, and has better results. Also I find the cheaper brands to be quite drying to your hair, something bleached blonde people like myself definitely do not need. This leaves hair, soft, easy to manage and style and am really impressed with toning results from it. Did stain my nails slightly for like half a day, so maybe would say use gloves. I have dyed dark brown shoulder length hair. I have used Fudge purple toning shampoo in the past, which has worked reasonably well. I decided to try Fudge Blue toning shampoo after researching blue toner.I have used Fudge Blue toning shampoo for my last 3 toning washes I use every other hair wash, using my normal colour shampoo conditioner at other times. I decided to try the 50ml sample size of blue shampoo to try before committing to a full 250ml sized bottle.I have found the blue shampoo removes the more orange red tones from hair, leaving my hair with more natural brown colouring. I do also use the blue conditioner at the same time I use the toning shampoo.I would definitely recommend wearing gloves I use cheap disposable ones, as this shampoo will stain your nails cuticles. I havent found it stains my white bathroom tiles or the grout. I tend to give my hair a quick first was through, then on the second wash, allow the toner to work for 34 minutes, rinse through and apply the conditioner as normal.I have had no issues with either the shampoo or conditioner leaving my hair in poor condition, or drying my hair out. I am pleased enough with the product, that I have now purchased the full 250ml sized bottle of blue toning shampoo conditioner.Anonymous
I have tried so many purple shampoos even olaplex and I cant help but feel that they all make your hair feel a little dry to some extent. I dont feel like this with the fudge one and I end up coming back to it time and time again. I dont think you need to use loads to make a difference and the bottle lasts me a while and I have long hair. For me, this product is an absolute winner. I have ashy highlights which just love love love to go yellow on me. In one shampoo, leaving it on for just one minute, it toned them down. By the second, leaving it on for two minutes, they're almost perfect. Next time, I will leave it on for the full three minutes, but I preferred to go slowly just in case my results were not as expected. My highlights look so good, it looks as though I went to the salon and got them toned. That is how good it is. A few tips for those who have complained about this shampoo. First, it is Sulfate free AND silicone free. It is a color toning shampoo, NOT a conditioning shampoo. I shampooed right before using it with Living Proof Restore, and then did a solid, good conditioning, my hair was left in great shape. It also lathered just fine. If you hair is full of silicone residue, then maybe this shampoo is not enough to remove it. If you are not used to a sulfate and silicone free shampoo, you may feel like your hair is straw, but honestly, it feels like many other sulfate and silicone free shampoos if you don't condition. If you want a conditioning type of product there are other purple shampoos and conditioners that promise more conditioning. I LIKE this one BECAUSE I can then continue to use my own conditioning regimen. Second, I wore gloves just to be sure the first time. No purple lingered on my hands at all, but, I was sure to rinse them off after applying and lathering and again after rinsing. No staining at all Third, was with any toning shampoo, I suggest starting slowly to see how your hair reacts. Those folks who left it on five or ten minutes the first time – well, you can't blame your oddball results when the instructions say leave on one to three minutes!SuzySM
I'm SO HAPPY I went through with buying this product. I was extremely hesitant after reading all the reviews about how it stained peoples hands/scalp, caused burns, and caused hair loss. The back of the bottle does recommend spot testing first to make sure you don't have a reaction, so if you're worried about that then definitely do a little test first. It did leave my hands a bit purple, but the purple washed off after the rest of my shower and it's definitely worth it for how good my hair looks now. I have not experienced any of the other symptoms, and this product has taken the gross yellow tone out of my bleached hair, and it looks like I just got it toned at the salon! It also looks and feels so incredibly healthy even though it has been bleached. I've already had people comment on how good and shiny it looks, and I've only used it twice. It works great as a shampoo too, although I'm considering buying the No. 4 without toning for my scalp and saving the purple shampoo more for the lighter ends of my hair/using it as a weekly treatment for toning. Very happy with this purchase and absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to tone their bleached blonde!Sam
THE most effective toning shampoo I’ve ever tried! I am a big fan of [brand:olaplex] products (with the exception of and [brand:olaplex] No 6 Bond Smoother 100Ml). I’ve used multiple bottles of the [brand:olaplex] No 4 Bond Maintenancetm Shampoo Mini 33 Oz/ 100 Ml before, so I was excited to try this purple toning version. I use this as much normally would when on the shampoo step, maybe I let it sit a couple minutes more but does not take much time to make a difference in terms of neutralizing any warmth. I only shampoo my base and not the ends, rinsing the shampoo out is enough to cleanse my ends. My hair feels thoroughly cleansed, silky, and hydrated. This formula is gentle and does not make my hair dry or difficult to comb out. The formula is perfect thick and lathers very nicely. I would this this is most effective for level 9/10 blondes, but perhaps would neutralize subtly on darker levels. Be prepared to rinse your shower down bc you will get dark purple spatter from using. I wish this had existed decades ago. I'm a natural brunette who has been every color in the rainbow and has fought unwanted reddish orange undertones. I'm 51 and have been coloring my hair since 13. I hate most Ash boxed dyes as they are harsh looking. I recently bleached out several years of black dude from my now salt and pepper hair, suffered with a too light for me blonde because of damage, and was finally able to get to a dark ash blonde only to see it become orangey after a week. Enter this shampoo. I lathered up, let it sit while I washed and shaved, rinsed, conditioned and dried my hair. It looked amazing! And it felt great too! I've seen others use this on YouTube and you can plainly see their after results leaves their hair looking in better condition than before. That's what prompted me to try this one. When I think of decades of living with beautiful brown shades that went reddish orange, it's maddening. All I needed was this. For the record, when I was a lighter blonde this worked too in conjunction with a purple shampoo, but now that I'm a darker blonde this is all I need. Would definitely buy again.Kat
I never really write reviews unless I believe in the product. And let me tell you I've only used this product for one day and absolutely love it! I'm usually a Redken frizz dismiss person but I figured I would try something new based on the reviews. I ran out of redken during this quarantine and ended up having to use drug store shampoo for awhile until I got my order. My hair was so dry and stringy and hard to brush because of it. I couldn't wait to use the shampoo and conditioner to relief my hair and it was so instantaneous!! As soon as I rinsed out the conditioner my hair felt so quenched and smooth! When I dried it out (only with a blow dryer and brush!) my hair was so soft and easy to run my fingers through. It never got tangled and I honestly couldn't stop touching my hair. Even my fiancée and I woke up to my hair being so nice and soft this morning! We were both amazed! I also had a balayage a few months ago that I let grow out. And this product really brightened my hair up just from one wash. It has a great salon smell too. Not too over powering but not to the point you can't smell it. Wow!! This is the best purple shampoo I have ever used. I just had my hair bleached again and my stylist recommended this shampoo to me. When i used it, I accidentally left it on a couple minutes more than the recommended 2-3 minutes and I was terrified it was going to be a disaster. I have a bayalage with my natural dark warm blonde at the top/middle fading into very bleached hair. Anyone who has had their hair like this knows your natural hair won't change tone like the bleached hair will, and I've had purple shampoos leave me with a mess of warm dark blonde with super grey/silver on the lighter parts, with muddiness and patchiness until I washed it a couple more times. After rinsing and drying my hair, I saw that while it did remove the warmth from my bleached ends and highlights, somehow it melted all the shades together beautifully and there is no patchiness between the differing shades. This is a winner and I doubt I'll change to another purple shampoo now that I've found this. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for a really high quality purple shampoo!Emily
