20 Best Shampoo For Dry Thin Curly Hair (Feb 2023 Update)

I am m not sure what magical ingredients go into this, but the products have transformed my hair. I was forever searching for my "holy grail" shampoo and conditioner and nothing ever 'wowed' me. I have fine-medium hair but a lot of it. I struggle with my roots getting oily and my ends being dry. My hair also gets very tangly. Since using this shampoo along with aDove conditioner, my hair is shiny, smooth, and I can run my hands through it! I cannot believe how much it has done for my hair. It is truly my holy grail, and despite the price, I will continue to repurchase it because there is nothing that has worked as well for me…miguel.q

I have been buying Dove shampoo and conditioner for many years from Sam's. Dove has changed the smell and the formula. My hair actually looks oily after I blow it dry. I have fine thin hair and the old formula always worked well for me. My hair would blow out to be light and bouncy. This new formula just weighs it down. It does not even want to take to the curling iron. All of my bottles are going back to Sam's. Dove, do you even test out your changes? Plus, let your consumers know this is a totally different product. Let me guess, you are using cheaper ingredients and tying to pawn it off as the same product.Moni

We placed a delivery order recently with Wal*Mart a few items were delivered from our local store. They left the order at our door left before we realized it was the wrong order. Because of covid, they don't accept any returns of local delivery orders, so they let us ( I guess the person who got our stuff) keep it for free! This is great because we were almost out of conditioner! I'd never tried this particular conditioner before but I thought it looked like a good one but didn't have super high hopes because nothing has ever done a total miracle for my hair before. On a dryness, brittleness, frizziness, tanglability (Is that a word? LOL!), unruliness scale of 0 – my Dreamland Baby doll I got when I was 8 (Wow! That hair! Eek! It was short but would turn back into a frizzy, tangled mess 1 minute after thoroughly brushing taming without touching it!), my hair is off the charts! It's crazy thick, unbelievably frizzy, more porous than Spongebob, incredibly weak dry. I can't shampoo daily (it takes too long makes the texture worse) I absolutely have to put products in after each shampoo too keep it under some sort of control. I'm always looking to try new shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, treatments, leave-ins in hopes of finding the hair miracle I've been hoping for. My goodness, this is it! Even before applying a leave-in while my hair is still damp, I can tell that my hair is unbelievably soft! I have covid, so I went longer than usual without shampooing (finally did today) even after several days, my hair felt silky, smooth, soft, with very minimal frizz or tangles! This is like something out of a dream! I highly recommend this conditioner! I also recently started using OGX Coconut Miracle Oil Shampoo, which is great helps a little, but this stuff is the true miracle product!laura.a

This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. I don’t need a huge amount of it to get my hair untangled, and when I do brush through it I barely have any tangles at all. It’s also very gentle on my hair and the smell is light and not overpowering. So impressed with this product and very glad to have found it. Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. Delicious! Smells so good! I bought it to control frizz in my wavy hair. I am using in conjunction with the Curls & Waves Styling Creme and it is a nice combo for soft hair. I dyed and damaged my hair so much (over the course of 2yrs) to the point where my hair didn’t wave even a little bit. I tried Nat*reLab T*kyo’s repair line for ~1yr and while it did help with the damage, it couldn’t bring my waves back, and I had MAJOR silicone buildup on my hair and scalp (yuck!). Back in May (2021) I started using this shampoo along with the super smooth cream conditioner, and my hair has never looked better. After just ONE wash, my hair had more body and volume than ever before, and over the past few months, my waves have been coming back 🙂 They look more uniform, less frizzy, and honestly curlier than they did even before I damaged my hair. The bottle looks small, but the shampoo has lasted me 3.5 months so far and there’s still enough left for me to keep using it for 1-2 more months. I follow a modified Curly Girl Method, basically I just use approved products but have to diffuse my hair since it would take all day to dry and I don't have time for that. I have fine, thin/sparse hair that needs shampoo every wash (which is two to three times a week). I got this because I have done everything suggested to combat frizz but nothing worked. I wanted an actually CG approved and tested product. I am still having issues but since I've started diffusing my hair about 10-15 minutes after getting out of the shower my frizz has gone down a little. Maybe I just have frizzy hair and no amount of anything will help, but I thought I'd try clarifying too. This product smells nice and is not overpowering. Maybe if you are sensitive to smells it still might bother you but I think you should at least try it. It doesn't linger post shower and maybe only a trace scent is left. I have short hair (just above chin length when curly) so I don't very often catch wiffs of my hair. I only know this because I used this before I got my hair cut (it was halfway down my neck when curled so some hair in the front could reach my nose for me to smell). It does not dry out my hair and even before using conditioner I can run my fingers through my hair when putting conditioner in–not completely tangle free but a lot better than what I had used before (Shea Moisture Clarifying something or other). Also, my hair does not feel squeaky clean which is great and allows an easier time of putting in conditioner. My hair feels clean but not striped of natural oils, which is exactly as I had hoped! I will say it does not lather up a lot and since I wear glasses and can't see well enough without getting super close to a mirror I probably use more than you need. I use enough so I can see the lather and it is minimal. I like that the bottle is a concentrated squirt top so you can easily get it to your scalp. I would definitely buy this again! It will last quite a while since you don't clarify often (I do twice a month and may drop off to once a month if I see better results with the rest of my routine.) Ever since I started embracing my curls/waves and started the curly girl method I've been on the look out for products that work with my hair. I came across Bounce Curl after hearing so many good things about it across social media. I don’t really write reviews unless I see that a product actually works and it lives up to what it claims to do, so after trying this shampoo several times I thought that I’d share my personal experience so far. Not only has this shampoo brought in the moisture my hair craves but it has also reduced the amount of frizz my hair experiences. I must admit I was a little nervous trying this shampoo because my scalp tends to flake due to dryness however, I was very pleased with the results. Frankly, I was in awe because after my first wash, there was no sign of flaking in my scalp which happens a lot with other products. This in fact was the first shampoo that moisturizes and cleansed my scalp without over-stripping. I truly appreciate the clean and high quality ingredients Bounce curl utilizes and their dedication and care that reflects through their happy customers and results most importantly. I think that Bounce Curl lives up to the hype and I'm more than happy to continue to use their products. As a reference, I have high density hair, medium thick hair, and dry-prone hair (high-porosity perhaps) so this shampoo was perfect. I really love this product. Smells so good, Leaves fine hair looking soft and very bright. Because it is silicone free, it does not leave hair looking slimy the way silicone products leave fine hair. So far so good. Trying to replace Deva products that have become too expensive and needed something without proteins, so it will not dry out my curly/wavy hair. This has worked well so far. This was the most drying, matting shampoo I've come across in a long time. I wanted to try something different ( cause shampoo is shampoo right?! WRONG) I have a mix of type 3c, 4b and beyond. I have a clarifying shampoo but wanted a moisturizing one to use. This was a mistake. My hair instantly started clumping and matting. I wash my hair weekly and detangle well before I even wet it.. Based on other reviews, I really wanted to love this product for my thick curly hair..this shampoo/conditioner combo made my scalp very itchy and dry – something I’ve never had issues with before. On top of that by day 2 it was making my hair fall out in CLUMPS. I’m not talking typical “more than a few strands because it was worn up today” either – I mean handfuls each wash. I made myself use it until it was gone to see if it was an adjustment my body needed to make and nothing improved. This product, as well as other scents/formulas by Maui, is absolutely wonderful. Everyone in my family is now using one of Maui's formulas because it works really well and smells good. I actually really like this conditioner. The first time I bought it, I didn't. I decided to give it another try and k actually really like it. I use it as a rinse out and when I "squish to condish". I feel more comfortable using this for squish to condish rather than a normal rinse out conditioner because those are not meant to be left in the hair and this one is. I do rinse this out though. I really wanted to love this product and I did in the first month of using it. I applied it in the shower and brushed through it really easily, it helped revive my waves, and I really liked the smell. Unfortunately after about a month of use I started noticing really bad dandruff at the front of my hairline, big dandruff flakes, and the nape of my neck was itch. Then I started getting this weird buildup on my hair after the shower. My hair just felt really tacky, when I tried to brush through it, it got tangled immediately because it was sticking to itself, I even noticed some white buildup on my brush. So the next time, I washed the brush, washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, and made sure to wash out the conditioner well…really well. And it still left this really sticky gross buildup on my hair. It was almost impossible to even run my fingers through. I shampooed my hair twice with a clarifying shampoo and went back to one of my old conditioners and my hair is pretty much back to normal. There is still maybe one part that is still a little sticky/tacky so I'll have to wash it again. Maybe this works for some people, it just didn't work for me. I really like Not Your Mother's products but this particular one didn't quite make the cut. I love how they are free of alcohol, silicones, phthalates, sulfates and dyes. This can be used as a leave in conditioner, rinse out or just as a co-wash. It does enhance my curls and give some definition but my hair is so oily the next day, I have to wash it. Also, my hair seems extra tangley and dry the next day. Just remember that everybody's curls are different and so what might not work for me, might work for you.ashley.b

So I want to start by saying I live in the desert and have super thin dry hair, so I was SUPER excited to try this product (I used all four products – shampoo, conditioner, mask, and leave in condition together). I used all four products for this account: At first I was only going to give this a 3 because on day one of hair being washed, I feel like my hair still ends of feeling and looking really dry (especially the tips – see photos). BUT day two my hair looked/felt better, and day three my EVEN better! I showered all three days, it only used the products the first day, so you can see the progress of how my hair softened, my curls came out, AND I LOVED how my hair felt day 3/4. Normally with silicone products day 3 I HAVE to wash my hair again because the product is so heavy at my roots, whereas I LOVED how these products made my hair feel several days later. I still took off a star because of how dry my hair feels on day one. I have to suffer through one day of my hair bit feeling so great to get to better hair days, and I don’t really love that aspect. I've used this product intermittently for 15+ years. Over the last 5 or so it's become my go-to. I have fine, type 3 curls, low/medium porosity and medium density. I can't even begin to tell you how many different shampoos/conditioners I've tried, and I always come back to this set or the Ultra Hydrasource. I've never experienced any hair loss whatsoever, in fact, I have with other brands and once I go back to this it stops. The smell is absolutely amazing also! I wash my 1-2x a week with this, and in between I use a co-wash from Curlsmith. I always start with using the detangling solution from this line and brush through in the shower with my wet brush. I rinse, shampoo with this, then use the Hydrasource conditioner or a deep conditioner. I comb that through and let sit for several minutes and rinse. Even with very dark natural hair and having bleached highlights (touch ups every 3-6 months), my hairdresser brags about how healthy my hair is! I get a trim every 8 weeks, and she always tells me I don't even need it because of how healthy my ends are, even during post-COVID hair issues I was experiencing (loss and thinning). My husband also started using this when he ran out of his Redken Brews and his hair is VERY fine and thin, and he said he couldn't believe how much better his hair looked and felt (he's also a curly guy, only getting his hair cut/shaved 2-3x year). ⭐️First of all let’s get this out of the way, I was incentivized. I received these samples for free from Influenster and matrix for my honest opinion⭐️ Now that’s out of the way… Oh my hair is loving me right now… I waited until shampoo day and it was well worth it! After using the amazing shampoo I was a little skeptical that my hair would take to this conditioner because it’s so damaged and after I wash it I usually have to put a million and one conditioning products in it just to make it manageable!!! Well let me tell you this is not the case! After issuing a decent size dollop I ran it through my hair starting at the ends and working my way up to the root. Then I added a little bit of water to make it activate a little bit and VIOLA! I let it sit in my hair for about 5 to 10 minutes and then I rinse with lukewarm water. I gently towel dry my hair afterwards and went to come through with a white tooth comb. This is the first time that the comb actually ran through my hair because my hair is so damaged. I literally want to cry. If your hair is out of control and it’s breaking to no end you should really try this and give it a little time and you will see such a difference. I want to wash my hair so badly again but I know I have to wait till it’s actually dirty! The smell is so lovely and it doesn’t fade away but it’s also not overbearing. Give it a try it!! Wow! Best shampoo I have ever used by far! I have spent years trying to find a shampoo that doesn’t make my hair a tangly matted mess but this cleans my scalp and give my hair slip and hydration at the same time, I have dry curly / wavy hair that gets split ends and breaks easily and I have noticed a significant different in the ends and over all appearance and feel of my hair since using this shampoo and the correlating conditioner. The shampoo has a decent lather and you don’t need much of it as a little goes a long way. The only downside is that for me this product was a lot more than what I’d usually spend on a shampoo/ conditioner but is definitely worth the investment for something that actually works for my hair for once.sophie.b

I really wanted to like this but I just couldn’t so I returned it. The scent was the most part for me… I expected the same scent as the original Moroccanoil Hair oil so maybe my expectation was high? It was almost like those glade spray fresh clean scent to me. I have long hair (almost touches my coxis; half of it is dyed because I’m trying to achieve a melted effect.. from my natural dark brown to grey) So my ends need help to maintain its elasticity, moisture and prevent split ends. I got everything from this brand that I was able to afford to start taking care of it . Recently I was able to participate in a unique mission for Topbox Circle to test and review Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner. I purchased both full sized 384 ml bottles at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. After reviewing both products, and submitting my receipt, I will be reimbursed by Topbox Circle for the purchase of these two products. I used this Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo for the past couple of weeks. I tend to shampoo my naturally wavy to curly hair every other day, and condition it less often, or as needed. This Sulfate Free and Colour Safe Shampoo is made with Fig Extract and Boabab Oil to “Hydrate and Replenish Extra Dry, Damaged Hair”. I found this shampoo relatively thick in texture and so it was a bit hard to get out of the bottle. Found myself having to squeeze the bottle, especially when the bottle was less full, to get the product out. The Conditioner comes in a pump bottle. This shampoo richly lathers and rinses off well. I experienced no irritation on my scalp or skin. It felt gentle. The fragrance on the other hand is far too strong for me. I like the smell of figs and honey, but there’s a potent fragrance to this product. The scent is a bit too much. Shea Moisture is not my usual brand for hair products, but I wanted to try something new. This shampoo left my hair perfumed, shiny, clean, and soft. My curls looked defined. I found the oils and/or conditioners in this product a bit too heavy for daily use (every second day use for me) but I would consider using Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner weekly, or as a hair treatment. I purchased Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. After completing my review mission, I will be reimbursed by Topbox Circle. I used this Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner, every other day, for the past couple of weeks. This Colour Safe conditioner is made with Certified organic Shea Butter, Honey, Mafura and Boabab oils to “restore manageability, nourish and condition dry, brittle hair”. This Shea Moisture conditioner comes in a pump bottle, so the product is easier to get out of the bottle. I left this nourishing conditioner on my hair for a few minutes, before rinsing it off with cool water. I experienced no irritation on my scalp or skin. The fragrance of this Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner is a little too strong for me, but less potent than the matching Shampoo. This conditioner left my hair detangled, manageable, shiny, and soft. My curls looked defined, and my hair was easy to style. I was able to try the Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo as a #freeproduct with #trywithtopbox & was pleasantly surprised. Keeping in mind this is a restorative shampoo it's very unconventional in the way it looks, smells & shampoos the hair. I was very skeptical but was used to it by the 2nd to 3rd time using it. It doesn't suds up/lather as much as a regular shampoo but it does if you really massage the hair well & give it a second shampoo. The color doesn't bother me as I said you get used to it. My hair didn't have the traditional "clean" feeling the first time I used it but there's a definite silkier almost more creamy feel to the hair after using it which is nice. This was a nice surprise! After using it for a few weeks now, I feel like again, I'm used to it & it leaves the hair clean & amazingly hydrated. Keep in mind this is all because this shampoo is sulfate-free (which is a good thing!). So give it a chance! You wouldn't necessarily use this if you have a ton of product in your hair you need to get off (lots of hairspray, gel etc,). This could be used for the second round of shampooing. So recommend to use this when you need some hydration & your hair is heat damaged. Also big plus it didn't burn my eyes which is my number one test with any shampoo especially when I saw the highlighted ingredients as peppermint & apple cider vinegar. I detest mint in general (esp in hair care) & have used products with lots of tea tree oil etc. & do not like it. So points for being subtle smelling & not harsh. Honestly didn't even notice. This Pacifica Pineapple Conditioner is a great followup to the shampoo to lock in the right nourishment to produce the curls you need. It made my hair come back to life after hair dyes had caused damage of dryness and lifeless hair. It’s more youthful because it’s shiny, wavy and soft again! It actually works as promised! Smells fresh, although the shampoo is stronger. I love the Pacifica products I’ve been trying because of my curiosity and sales I’m trying more. The prices are decent as compared to other higher priced brands that just continued drying the hair out even though the exhaustive amount ingredients seemed good. I just started my natural curly hair journey from when I started damaging it as a teenager! I feel like this shampoo was highly recommended and I just could get enough of how amazing it smells! I always imagine myself at the beach drinking a pina colada when I use this! I am obsessed. I feel like my hair gets a really good clean when I use it. It has a very thick texture but applies and wash very fresh, and light. I don’t feel like my hair is caked onto any chemicals after using it. My hair truly feels refreshed! I just finished this bottle and I'm sorry to say I won't buy it again. The shampoo itself is ok but I feel like it weighs my hair down. But I am hating this new container designs. It arrived leaking within the plastic bag. And then somehow, the bottle continued to leak from the top even though I had it stored upright. By the time I finished the bottle, the whole thing had a thick coating of shampoo on it. AND there's no way to open the top to add a little water to get all of the product out. This became my everyday shampoo for when I wanted a good cleanse, soft strands and volume. I have an oily scalp problem. While it doesn't help delay the oil production, this is able to provide a thorough cleanse, leaving my hair (and the room) with this refreshing orange blossom scent. My most favourite thing about it is that it adds a little Zhoosh to my locks. My hair looks bouncy, with volume and, feels lightweight. It's silicone & sulphate free, and doesn't lather much. The one issue I do have with this is that since the formulation is runny and light, I have to use a considerable amount each time. I had high hopes for this shampoo but it’s terrible for oily hair. My hair gets quite oily and dirty and I normally wash it every 3 days, I had never had issues with my other shampoos to cleanse my hair in the past but I did with this shampoo. There was nearly no bubbles even when I rub it in my palms before applying to my hair, and so it’s extremely difficult to clean my hair. The first time I had to use 4 pumps to even get my hair clean! Which is a lot considering how small the bottle is honestly. I haven’t had any noticeable difference either in terms of hair volume or texture, so I’ll strongly suggest that you don’t buy it, and especially DONT if you have oily hair because this shampoo doesn’t even clean it well. I don't blow dry nor do I dye my hair. I use hair creams and sometime flexible styling hair sprays not related to this brand. With that said, with this shampoo I sometimes have to lather twice to really feel like I fully removed any hair products, other than that, this shampoo does lather well & has a soft smell to it. It's winter here at the moment and this shampoo is not helping with my winter dandruff, which it's okay, I scalp detox once a week & that helps for a while, not this brand either, but I'm mentioning it incase you think it helps moisturize your scalp. As for conditioner, I use a different brand too & thanks because I like how my conditioner defines my curls but unfortunately this other brand conditioner does not add volume, niece I'm done with what I have, I'll try the conditioner for Ouidad.Discovering curly hair products

This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet. There’s no cast to scrunch out. This is my new favorite shampoo. I've tried MANY from various curl lines. I have fine wavy hair that's prone to frizz. It is also slightly damaged with bleach. I have struggled with dry scalp for a long time as well. This shampoo not only cleans well, but it doesn't leave my scalp nor my hair feeling dried out at all. It's moisturizing and cleansing. Ladies, you have to use the WHOLE system to see true results. Can't just use shampoo and conditioner to see much of a difference. Pending on your curl type, you need to use the finishing products after the shampoo and conditioner. I was skeptical at first, so I purchased the "Starter Kit" for my curl type. When I used all 4 products together, WOW!!!!! My curls have never looked so good! It's not cheap when you go into buying all 4 in full size… But, oh so worth it! I've recommended this line to several people, and they have all agreed with me you have to use the entire line to really get the full benefit, especially the Curl Defininf Gel. I was very excited to try Living Proof Curl Shampoo since I had heard positive things about the brand, but was hesitant to purchase since it’s a little higher end. I have very frizzy, full, curly hair. It’s also dry from coloring and heat styling and some of the curl shape has been lost from Keratin treatment from years ago and constant straightening. Some curl styling products don’t do much for my hair. I was SO impressed with this product. I have had an issue lately when I comb my wet hair. I typically wore my hair straight and now that I’ve been wearing it naturally curly, sometimes I just twist it into a bun and this seems to give me a lot of tangles. Lately after showering, despite combing my wet hair immediately, I have bad tangling and knotting. This also results in more hair coming off on my comb. However, after using this shampoo in conjunction with the Living Proof Curl Conditioner, I didn’t have this problem. I was so happy that I didn’t have a tough time combing my wet hair and have a bunch of hair come out. It was so much easier to comb through my hair and miraculously I didn’t have an abundance of tangles or knots. The smell is so pleasant as well and my hair even held the scent the following day. The first time I tried this it was based on a recommendation from my daughter. I had never even heard of this brand before. The curl conditioner and the curl shampoo are nothing less than miraculous. I am in love with both of these products. I went to visit my mom recently. I was pulling my teardrop camper so I just wanted travel sizes. I thought I could make do for a week using some other products I had in travel sizes. No. No. No. I ended up going out and buying new bottles because I couldn’t stand to be without them.carla.b

So I was very hesitant to try this shampoo because of some of the reviews but now I regret not trying it sooner. Some of the complaints are that it doesn’t get your hair clean and i feel like that may be true if you’ve only ever used shampoos with silicones and switch to this. You have to use the clarifying shampoo first if you have never used silicone free before otherwise the moisture won’t get to your hair because of the silicone still left on your hair strands. This shampoo makes my hair so soft and has such a luxurious lather. I didn’t think I would like the nozzle but the shampoo is a thinner consistency so it comes out easily and deposits right on the scalp. I think I’ve finally found my holy grail shampoo. The one good thing about this shampoo is the packaging. The product goes directly onto the scalp with the perfectly sized nozzle. That's it though. The shampoo smells like men's deodorant. The smell doesn't fade, either. The shampoo doesn't rinse clean. My hands and hair felt oily and heavily conditioned just from the shampoo. It left a film on my hair that seemed to make it fall straight down. All of my waves and curls hung limply, with no definition, lots of frizz, and just awful. I so love this shampoo. I use it in conjunction with the conditioner. The texture is excellent, not so thick and not so thin, just right. It has a lovely floral scent that is not overpowering. My hair for the last few years has started becoming more limp and thin. I've tried various shampoos and hair products that supposedly add volume, but haven't really noticed a difference. I was excited to try this Strengthening shampoo because not only did it claim to strengthen hair, but also lead to more volume. I've used it for about a week now (5 times washing my hair) and I couldn't be happier. I was pleasantly surprised as I have noticed a difference. My hair which was thinning on the top seems a little thicker and actually softer too. The shampoo is best when used with the conditioner and serum as that is what I have been using and it seems to be working. Other things I've loved about it: the scent. It's mild, but so fragrant. It's a pleasant floral smell that stays with your hair until your next wash, which I love. The texture is also ideal; not so thick that it feels goopy and not so thin that it's watery. It also lathers really well which is a definite necessity for me because I never really feel clean without the lather. Another bonus is that I can blow dry and straighten curl my hair without any issues; it actually recommends you to style as required. Overall, I highly recommend this shampoo to anyone who is looking for thicker fuller hair without breaking the bank or resorting to extreme procedures.raomeenas

This shampoo is an absolute Miracle product for anyone with any kind of issues with scalp or hair thinning. It's not a well-known brand but everybody should know about this because it's phenomenal. I originally started using this because I could not find a product that would work to help with my dry itchy scalp as well as occasional oily hair that what present throughout the day. Once I started using this shampoo within days any conditions that I had had were completely gone and my hair was a lot thicker softer and completely it's free. No other product has ever worked like this for me. Due to hormonal changes I began losing hair to point you could see my scalp around my crown. I have 3B hair that dries out easily. After trying various treatments and vitamins I was recommended this product. It is more expensive than many other products however it is the first thing that actually worked. My hair is not thinning anymore and I am seeing some regrowth. It's not a miracle though and has to use it consistently before results show but it worked for me and did not dry out my hair. I love love love this ! I’ve been using it for about 2 years now and my hair still hasn’t gotten used to it like I’ve experienced with other shampoo product lines. When my hair gets used to a shampoo and/or conditioner it will stop working as expected, resulting in me switching up products. This shampoo doesn’t really have a smell. It clarifies my scalp and hair of hair products and allows healthier hair growth. My hair has never looked better than with using this shampoo. I will sometimes use this on my scalp/top head area and then use the Surface Bassu Hydrating shampoo half way down to the ends to prevent any loss of hydration in my hair extensions. You don’t want to put the Bassu Hydrating shampoo on your extension tapes though; it will weaken the tape bond. This shampoo is also great to use before you put in extensions. This ensures that there’s no hair product residue on your hair where you’re going to attach your tape in extensions! I highly recommend this whole hair care product line!megan.m

I’m so frustrated! I bought a huge bottle of this at the end of last summer and it became my holy grail! I have thin but very curly hair and it gave me the perfect amount of moisture without weighing it down. I just grabbed a new bottle and the moment I put it in my hair I knew it was not the same. I have medium thickness hair with S waves, not curly at all. I originally bought this for my daughter who has thick, curly type 3A hair, and I ended up trying it because I ran out of my usual leave-in cream and I needed some thing to put in my hair. I was absolutely stunned by the results! The ingredients in this looks pretty typical of most leave-in creams, but I think the way it was formulated makes all the difference. I apply this stuff from my ends and work my way up to about 3/4 up my hair. Never have I ever felt softer hair in my life! Since it has demithicone, you can rest assured that will provide optimum heat protection from blow drying your hair and it will keep frizz at bay. It washes off easily in the next wash and hasn't caused build-up at all. I believe it even extends the time in which my hair stays straight after using a hair straightener. So you no longer need to use a heat protectant after a leave in cream and you no longer need detangler because this stuff works amazingly. I have bleach damaged hair and this stuff made it feel less gummy. Since it works well for me and my daughter's type of hair, I don't think this is suitable for girls with type 3B-4C hair because it won't give the intense hydration that you're looking for, unless you're using this in a LOC method and using it as the first step.Alexandria

I normally use a cocktail of products for my 2C FRIZZY fine curls but I decided to try this on its own for the first time. So glad I did! I don’t know how – but this leave-in is quite the multi-tasker! It not only got rid of most of my frizz but my curls were defined, yet soft. None of that crunchiness I normally experience from mousses and other curl styling products. I got out of the shower with soaking wet hair, sectioned my hair, applied it to sections, combed it through, scrunched a bit, and let it air dry. It worked very well. Second day hair looked good, but by the 3rd day, I needed a bit of a refresh. Also, this stuff smells great. My only issues with the Nexxus Curl Define Leave-in Conditioner are: 1) Dimethicone is in the list of ingredients. I try to avoid silicones, as so many other curly girls do. Why did they have to use this? Means I can’t use this all the time, and need to use a clarifying shampoo sometimes to get rid of the buildup. 2) There was no seal on the jar. When I opened the jar, a bunch poured out on the floor. I thought my product was tampered with, but then read another review how this is how it comes. So – be careful when opening this initially! But still – this product is great. It makes my curls look great with little effort, really feels like it’s nourishing and moisturizing my hair, and smells great!Estabee

I’m hair loves conditioner and I protein and I am always trying new products. I tried the Nexxus Curl Define Strengthen and Moisturize Leave In Conditioner for Curls. It has proteinfusion with silk protein and Marula oil to lock in moisture while controlling gross, leaving curls soft and defined. My curls are always thirsty for more moisture and conditioning. The smell is similar to baby lotion products and I like it. You apply while wet, section, distribute evenly, and could be used as a curl refresher, I would recommend for curly girls. My personal opinion I would not use everyday, too much protein can be bad just like too much of a good thing can be bad. Iam using every other wash for me.corinne.b

The lather was amazing, and let's not forget the the lovely citrus smell. My curls have stayed in days longer than with any other curl shampoo. Aveda products have a great reputation and is a well known stable product. I tried this shampoo for approximately 6 months and it didn't suit my curly/wavy hair. Nice looking professional packing that smells delightful. Unfortunately I am unable to list and visible benefits to the appearance/texture of my hair so promptly stopped using it. So sorry to say this isn't for me, we are all different. I would recommend try before you buy if possible. I personally will not be using again.
