I’ve been using this shampoo for a few weeks and I really like it…I just don’t know if it’s worth the price tag yet. I received the shampoo and conditioner for free in exchange for a review. The pros are….it makes my hair feel soft, look thicker/more voluminous, doesn’t weigh my hair down, I don’t lose as much hair when I brush it, less shedding in between washes and I see a tiny bit of hair re-growth. My only con is the price. Normally I use dove shampoo and it’s like $5. If it makes my hair re-grow I will repurchase it but if not I’ll stick to dove. It’s a luxury formula so aesthetically I like the way the packaging looks but functionally it’s harder to open and close. When my hands are wet it’s hard to unscrew the top and put it back on but it looks luxurious in my shower so packaging wise I’m 50/50 on. Overall it does what it claims so if you don’t mind spending a little more on hair care then it’s worth itsarlizz
I received this product as part of a free trial, and my opinions are my own. I love the packaging. The large mouth on the top makes it nice to store upside down in my shower caddy, which helps me get all the product out. The scent is nice, and the formula feels much like most high-end shampoos. I really enjoy a luxurious lather, and this does not disappoint. I have waist-length hair, and in order to get a good lather from root to tip, I have to use three times as much shampoo as the average person. I shampoo twice to ensure my hair is clean. With the second wash I get even more lather. I have not, however, noticed any change in the density or thickness of my hair after one use. I have thinning hair at the top of my crown. I was only allotted enough time to use the product once within my normal wash schedule before posting a review, so I cannot report on the claims of thickening my hair. I received Kerastase Densifique Bain Densite Shampoo as part of a free sample program in exchange for my honest opinion. There are not a lot of shampoos I can sample because most have a harsh surfactant that I am allergic to. Fortunately for me, this one did not have it. I was impressed with the thick creamy shampoo. The packaging was not my favorite because I prefer a pump for ease of use, but it wasn’t terrible. The directions say use a quarter size dollop, and that wasn’t going to work for my long hair. But it has a nice, thick lather that I appreciated. The scent was not overwhelming and felt luxurious. I loved the way my hair felt afterwards as well. I am 5 months postpartum and am struggling with hair loss. This product definitely made my hair feel a bit more full after just one use. I only shampoo about 2-3xs a week so I believe it would have been an even bigger difference if I shampooed more frequently. As with most products from brickell, I don’t prefer the smell. Their scented and unscented products don’t smell great for me, and I have lots of them now. They all do work fantastic, however. The shampoo my be my least favorite of the products I own if only because of the scent and dryness it leaves my scalp with. The conditioner in the other hand is a great product and I use it on my beard at times too. All the face products are great. The face lotion works really well for my dry skin and is what sold me on their products to be honest. I completed chemotherapy at the end of March, so I'm in the mode of trying to speed up hair growth! I was very disappointed I love this shampoo I have ordered it a couple other times. I did not know they had smaller bottles and I probably would have known by the price but it said $5 and something off that would be approximate price with that added on for the next size which is much larger. okay yeah I think it was costly for the size but the bottle that lid was not tight. is Ashley leaks out in a plastic bag thank goodness for that down to where the label starts. I don't remember if they had white protectors when you open the lid to pull off I can't remember that. I will not bother bringing it back I need some now. if there was something supposed to be over the top of that bottle, it is a little scary. So, little fun story before we get into the full review. I was going to upload the picture of the shampoo liquid itself but the bottle stole the show that had to submit that instead, it looks like a small cologne bottle, but it is shampoo! and guess what, smells like a good manly fragrance too. Tried the product and I loved it, obviously didn't feel instant results about the moisture part but the nice aroma it leaves in your hair it's perceived from the first use. I suffer of dry skin, that also includes scalp. After a week of usage I noticed reduced dryness, thank god. Maybe or not important for you, but it is cruelty free, it is not tested in animals, which also gives confidence that was meant for humans by humans. Give it a try!Orion
I wanted to write a review on this product and express my sheer disappointment in its performance. By far though, this is the worst Conditioner I’ve ever used! I have it two stars because yes my hair is slightly softer than if I didn’t use conditioner at all, but this product doesn’t soften or condition my hair anywhere near as good as other products I have used including suave, dove, and others. This conditioner is quite runny and not very thick like a typical conditioner is, and I blame this for why it doesn’t work. I feel like whatever this is made out of just isn’t quite as good as a typical conditioner is. My hair is all weird on the ends and just isn’t soft like I desired. Because of this, I won’t be continuing to purchase this product anymore. I will buy a different brand as I know how it will effect my hair. I will include a 2 day picture and a 2week picture for comparison. The 2 day picture is the one in which my hair isn’t curly. I found the fragrance to be very pleasant. It reminds me of wet bark or moss on river rocks. It also has a sweet gardenia note. My hair was already in good shape prior to testing the Blackwood conditioner so the best I can say for it is that my hair is still in good shape. It kept my hair soft and silky. If you're into woodsy smells then this would be a good option. My only issue with it is the container. Sadly in my area I can’t recycle number seven plastics, your location may differ. I also find that the nice looking bottle will keep me from using all the product up, so not that economical. But on the plus side it has a pump and that will help with portioning.gaby

I have used Redken for 30 years. it seems like no matter which formula I like, they discontinue it. I used to use Go Clean and I liked it. When L'OREAL bought the brand, the quality suffered. I got this shampoo because my hair is getting a tad thin on my head and “other parts). My smallest daughter,Colin,said that this product was the one for me. She wasn’t wrong! Within a month I looked like a magnificent Ewok. I’ve been using this shampoo in combination with a normal plain color safe conditioner and some it’s a 10 miracle spray and leave in conditioner from elvive. My hair is so soft and thick! My only complaint is the same as all the other thickening shampoo/conditioners I’ve used, it seems to leave my hair heavier and not oily or greasy, but like there is something on it that makes my hair thicker really fast after a couple uses. Not sure exactly how it does that, but my hair is healthier then ever. There was a lawsuit against this brand that was about how this brand claims all natural ingredients but that’s not the case. I’m ok with not all natural ingredients. If you are too, give it a try! nothing harmful or cancer causing/loss of hair chemicals. It smells like animal crackers to me. I wanted to like this shampoo and conditioner because of the ingredients, the family brand, etc. but it’s terrible! I have dry bleached hair and try to not wash it every day, since I don't want to dry it out more than necessary. Recently I started focussing on cleaning my scalp more and this shampoo is great for that! I recommend using a scalp brush with it. I have relatively thin hair. I typically use Bosley and/or Nioxin as a way to keep my hair from thinning. Both of those will tend to cause a bit of a burning sensation. I gave the Genesis Homme a 1 week challenge and could not believe the results. The product had my hair feeling very full and manageable, not to mention, it spells amazing and lathers beautifully. I used it on my hair and beard and was very happy with the results. I will say this is a luxury item, much more expensive than I would typically buy, but you need probably a dime sized amount for short hair and the bottle seems to last forever. I ordered Watermans double pack of shampoo and conditioner after reading positive reviews online. I was unsure of what to expect as I know certain products work for some people and not others. I received my delivery very quickly and it is very clear that this family run business really care about their products. The shampoo came in a black bottle and the conditioner in a white bottle which makes it very easy to differentiate the products with water in your eyes. The shampoo lathers really well and has feel really soft when washing it out. I feel like a slightly stronger smell would be nice however that wouldn't stop me from repurchasing as I really do see a difference in the condition of my hair. The conditioner is a much thinner consistency and again doesn't really have a strong scent. It sometimes doesn't feel like I have put any on my hair as it is very thin however after leaving it on for a minute or so and washing it out, my hair does feel soft. My hair is slightly dry in summer anyway and Im not sure whether the products particularly helped with that but I do really love these products and would definitely buy again!
