As with most products from brickell, I don’t prefer the smell. Their scented and unscented products don’t smell great for me, and I have lots of them now. They all do work fantastic, however. The shampoo my be my least favorite of the products I own if only because of the scent and dryness it leaves my scalp with. The conditioner in the other hand is a great product and I use it on my beard at times too. All the face products are great. The face lotion works really well for my dry skin and is what sold me on their products to be honest. I have the unscented and although it’s better smelling than the scented one- which is too lemony to me, it has a bit of an odd smell to it. The face scrub is also a great product.Cody L.

I’ve been using this shampoo for a few weeks and I really like it…I just don’t know if it’s worth the price tag yet. I received the shampoo and conditioner for free in exchange for a review. The pros are….it makes my hair feel soft, look thicker/more voluminous, doesn’t weigh my hair down, I don’t lose as much hair when I brush it, less shedding in between washes and I see a tiny bit of hair re-growth. My only con is the price. Normally I use dove shampoo and it’s like $5. If it makes my hair re-grow I will repurchase it but if not I’ll stick to dove. It’s a luxury formula so aesthetically I like the way the packaging looks but functionally it’s harder to open and close. When my hands are wet it’s hard to unscrew the top and put it back on but it looks luxurious in my shower so packaging wise I’m 50/50 on. Overall it does what it claims so if you don’t mind spending a little more on hair care then it’s worth itsarlizz
I received this product as part of a free trial, and my opinions are my own. I love the packaging. The large mouth on the top makes it nice to store upside down in my shower caddy, which helps me get all the product out. The scent is nice, and the formula feels much like most high-end shampoos. I really enjoy a luxurious lather, and this does not disappoint. I have waist-length hair, and in order to get a good lather from root to tip, I have to use three times as much shampoo as the average person. I shampoo twice to ensure my hair is clean. With the second wash I get even more lather. I have not, however, noticed any change in the density or thickness of my hair after one use. I have thinning hair at the top of my crown. I was only allotted enough time to use the product once within my normal wash schedule before posting a review, so I cannot report on the claims of thickening my hair. I received Kerastase Densifique Bain Densite Shampoo as part of a free sample program in exchange for my honest opinion. There are not a lot of shampoos I can sample because most have a harsh surfactant that I am allergic to. Fortunately for me, this one did not have it. I was impressed with the thick creamy shampoo. The packaging was not my favorite because I prefer a pump for ease of use, but it wasn’t terrible. The directions say use a quarter size dollop, and that wasn’t going to work for my long hair. But it has a nice, thick lather that I appreciated. The scent was not overwhelming and felt luxurious. I loved the way my hair felt afterwards as well. I am 5 months postpartum and am struggling with hair loss. This product definitely made my hair feel a bit more full after just one use. Once upon a time, companies started making most men's styling products out of wax, petroleum, and other greasy jar products that are really hard to get out of your hair. In response, they also made their Men's shampoos a lot more harsh, and the conditioners way too heavy. I’m not opposed to a shampoo like this but my skin is very sensitive and lots of shampoos make me break out along my neck and scalp for whatever reason. This shampoo has tea tree oil which seems to always break me out even when its included in tiny amounts; however I understand most people don’t react that way to it. It is also VERY fragrant lol, and strong artificial fragrances seem to irritate and break me out too. I can’t say the scent is necessarily good, but it’s not horrible. It’s just a lot. And kind of old man-ish. I gave it to a less sensitive friend of mine to try and he said: “Yeah, it’s good.” Lol. So. There ya go. Typically I am not one for old spice shampoo or really any kind of non-professional hair care but I have to say I enjoyed using this shampoo. It offers a nice refreshing tingle, your hair feels really clean, your scalp feels nice and fresh. As long as you use a good conditioner this is really a great shampoo to add into your rotation of hair care. My favorite way to use it, is sometimes I dont always wash my hair everday even though I shower so this shampoo offers a nice cleanse after 2 days of not shampooing. I have relatively thin hair. I typically use Bosley and/or Nioxin as a way to keep my hair from thinning. Both of those will tend to cause a bit of a burning sensation. I gave the Genesis Homme a 1 week challenge and could not believe the results. The product had my hair feeling very full and manageable, not to mention, it spells amazing and lathers beautifully. I used it on my hair and beard and was very happy with the results. I will say this is a luxury item, much more expensive than I would typically buy, but you need probably a dime sized amount for short hair and the bottle seems to last forever. I wanted to love this shampoo so bad but I haven’t noticed any difference in hair growth the only difference I’ve noticed between this and past shampoos that I’ve used is that when I’m washing my hair a have noticed A LOT of hair on my hand after washing my head. I don’t think that’s a good sign in my opinion. With past shampoos I would notice like 3 hairs on my hand after washing but with this one I’ve seen up to 20 hairs which is a lot more than 3. Within a month I looked like a magnificent Ewok. That said, it cleans my hair very nicely, giving me a squeaky clean feeling that I do actually like, especially since I only wash my hair about 2x a week and get a lot of build-up. Gives me nice volume, and my hair feels good when I follow up with the curly hair conditioner. For me, it works because I like a stronger shampoo, but if you're looking for something gentle and hydrating, this is NOT it. I’m not sure why this shampoo isn’t talked about because it’s truly fantastic. I have naturally curly hair that I blow out every week. My hair is also currently damaged from coloring and all the blow outs so I’m taking a break from both. I’ve tried many others shampoos yet this is the only one that makes a visible difference, my hair is smoother and less frizzy when blown out or air dried, I also swear it extends my color. I’m so impressed with this shampoo that I got their intense hydrating mask, leave in conditioner and oil, I use it all together with a palm full of tigi curls rock amplifier and this combo gives healthy, voluminous curls. I grew up with their hair oil and it’s crazy that after all these years they still have some of the best hair products. I also included Ouai leave in conditioner in my pic, another amazing hydrating product, I alternate this with Moroccanoil’s leave in on wash days. I typically don’t write negative reviews because everyone has their own preferences, but I felt I should comment on the customer service in hopes someone from the company would read this and respond. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. By this time, my hair is usually an oily, flakey mess, but it is not now because of this shampoo! Will definitely splurge for the large bottle!sweetkiwi
Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! For me personally, I think it works great and a lot of the negative comments here are from user error but that's just my opinion.Kelsey

I haven't used this product in a long time. I do remember it very clearly. I bought this at one of the discounted or liquidated stores. If I remember right it was either t.j. Maxx or Burlington. It is very Vivid in my imagination that I was trying to do everything to get rid of it. I know it stayed in my downstairs bathroom with a little bit left in the bottle. I hated the residue that it left on my hair and the lack of my hair feeling clean after using this. My ex-husband was very bad about using the last of a product once it got down to the bottom of it. Anyone who dyes their hair copper knows that copper pigmented hair dye will not stay onto the hair particle for long. A brand new copper color hair do will last about a week or two before it fades into a honey brown color, and eventually a yellow-brown color. With this in mind, there are products that will help to prolong the dye coloration and slow down the fade process, and I turn to Redken shampoo every time to get the job done whenever I need to prolong my copper dye. I’m not opposed to a shampoo like this but my skin is very sensitive and lots of shampoos make me break out along my neck and scalp for whatever reason. This shampoo has tea tree oil which seems to always break me out even when its included in tiny amounts; however I understand most people don’t react that way to it. It is also VERY fragrant lol, and strong artificial fragrances seem to irritate and break me out too. I can’t say the scent is necessarily good, but it’s not horrible. It’s just a lot. And kind of old man-ish. I gave it to a less sensitive friend of mine to try and he said: “Yeah, it’s good.” Lol. So. There ya go. If you’re not sensitive and don’t care about scents too much, it’ll probably be fine for you. I’m just not the target consumer for something like this.daniel.s
Typically I am not one for old spice shampoo or really any kind of non-professional hair care but I have to say I enjoyed using this shampoo. It offers a nice refreshing tingle, your hair feels really clean, your scalp feels nice and fresh. As long as you use a good conditioner this is really a great shampoo to add into your rotation of hair care. My favorite way to use it, is sometimes I dont always wash my hair everday even though I shower so this shampoo offers a nice cleanse after 2 days of not shampooing. All things considered I really like this shampoo, I would recommend it and I think both women and men would like it, the scent is great!joseph.g
As someone who suffers from dandruff, I was quite excited to try the new Tea tree Shampoo from Old Spice. I received my complimentary test bottle and couldn't wait to shower. However, I was honestly a bit disappointed. While still lathering up the solution, the invigorating tea tree scent faded. Instead, I rinsed off what smelled like generic store brand shampoo with that grocery store scent. To be sure it wasn't just my nose playing tricks, I asked my roommates to try it out and they agreed. Besides the scent, most tea tree shampoos have my flake-ridden scalp tingling.
