Best Shampoo For Salt And Pepper Hair (2024 Update)

To preface. I'm a 25 female. Natural light brown hair, bleached low maintenance blonde. Thick wavy frizzy hair that reaches the lower bottom of my back. Prone to split ends and breakage at the bottom of my hair. No extensions. I wanted to add this so people with similar hair types can relate. So to start, I'm so torn on this shampoo… I tried it for 3 weeks and I do like that this shampoo and conditioner cuts down on my overall frizz and made my hair so much smoother and less likely to tangle which is exactly what I was looking for. BUT there is some things about this shampoo I just can't ignore. First off the smell, I just can't get past it. It reminds me of a menthol cigarette. It just smells sooo minty and lingers after washing. Some people may not mind the smell but if my shampoo is going to linger, I'd prefer it to smell like something other than strong mint and almost a tea tree smell. Second, when the conditioner sets for a couple minutes before rinsing out I've noticed that my back and neck where the product has been laying in my hair will get very cold and tingly. Almost like how when you have a breath mint you get the same effect in your mouth but it's on your body this time. This alone made me decide not to repurchase. I like my shower water very warm and I found myself constantly turning the heat up because while the conditioner set I would get extremely cold from the tingly feeling. It can be overwhelming sometimes and linger even after washing the area thoroughly and drying off. I would assume if this was a shampoo and conditioner without the minty smell that I was having an allergic reaction to it but since it has that smell I just really don't know if the tingle is intended or not. And lastly, I've noticed a lot of small breakage at the top of my hair by my scalp. I'm not prone to breakage that high and only notice it after a fresh bleach every once and a while although it is usually very rare for me. I should note that it has been 3 months since my last bleach since I am a low maintenance blonde and I was not using this product during my last bleach. I also take a lot measures to protect my hair that could be the cause of breakage that high. So at this point only thing I've changed is this shampoo and conditioner. I've decided not to finish the rest of the bottle due to concerns about further breakage. This is just my experience. Some people seem to love it but it's a no from me. I hope this helps some people on the fence after reading conflicting reviews. I've switched to Joyco kpac reconstructing shampoo that has also given me the same desirable results so far with a much better smell, no breakage, and most importantly no tingly feeling on by skin.Lexi

I saw the hair loss reviews but if the hair is coming out at the follicle then that is definitely health related not from a shampoo. Shampoo cannot cause hair loss unless maybe a severe reaction to the scalp and there's swelling and for whatever reason the follicle comes out with it but that is highly unlikely. But anyways back to my review lol this is the most hydrating gentle shampoo I've ever used it's perfect! It cleans my hair and makes my scalp feel so refreshed but my hair is detangled and moisturized! And the conditioner is so creamy and moisturizing! The scents for both are so relaxing to me and my hair and scalp are taken care of with this set of shampoo and conditioner. my hair is so soft, shiny and perfectly moisturized. Definitely for medium to thick hair types unless you have finer very porous hair then I think you'd like it. Definitely one I can rely on and will repurchase but I already got the liters so guess I'll be repurchasing after that lolHairlover

Wow! Best shampoo I have ever used by far! I have spent years trying to find a shampoo that doesn’t make my hair a tangly matted mess but this cleans my scalp and give my hair slip and hydration at the same time, I have dry curly / wavy hair that gets split ends and breaks easily and I have noticed a significant different in the ends and over all appearance and feel of my hair since using this shampoo and the correlating conditioner. The shampoo has a decent lather and you don’t need much of it as a little goes a long way. The only downside is that for me this product was a lot more than what I’d usually spend on a shampoo/ conditioner but is definitely worth the investment for something that actually works for my hair for once.sophie.b

I really wanted to like this but I just couldn’t so I returned it. The scent was the most part for me… I expected the same scent as the original Moroccanoil Hair oil so maybe my expectation was high? It was almost like those glade spray fresh clean scent to me. Performance wasn’t as good… it did help with the frizz and made my hair fluffy but made my hair feel dry so I didn’t see the point of paying this much for a product like this. I have long hair (almost touches my coxis; half of it is dyed because I’m trying to achieve a melted effect.. from my natural dark brown to grey) So my ends need help to maintain its elasticity, moisture and prevent split ends. I got everything from this brand that I was able to afford to start taking care of it . (Repair, protect and restorative products) It has passed 2 weeks and I’m planning on keep washing my hair every 3-4 days; I have experienced NO frizz as before, no tangle hair, it’s feels soft , smell great, more manageable. I hope as I keep with the routine of using only Moroccanoil , that my hair will get ‘repair’ and be ready for my last color sesión 🤞🏼.. I’m a costumer forever. Ps. Cannot understand these great reviews! This Blue Malva shampoo and conditioner is simply awful. By far the worst I’ve used. The price point is ridiculous for the lack of result. Not only does it do NOTHING for my highlighted natural blonde hair, it actually actively makes the colour worse! After first use my highlights were dull and hair was really dry. Even when I piled the conditioner on I couldn’t get my brush though it. I should clarify that my hair has always been manageable and neither dry nor greasy, just luckily have shiny and soft hair so I was really shocked that a product had actually given me problems! I tried to keep using it because you can (ridiculously enough) only buy the huge bottles (what a scam), but I had to give it away to a friend because it was making my hair so lustreless. My friend hates it too so she’s using it as shower gel – lol -Waste of money or what? Smell is lovely like all Aveda products, that’s what it gets one star for. Omg. Who was in charge of getting rid of clove and chamomile shampoo and conditioner? Send them away and bring back our beloved shampoo. I've tried all your other shampoo and conditioner now and have decided to move on from Aveda. The new products smell horrible, and are terrible in general. They leave my hair feeling fried, or flat, or frizzy. I have very sensitive skin and after not wanting to pay $50 plus for a giant jug of color depositing shampoo, I looked everywhere where for something similar. In the end, I decided not having my hair fall out using something harsher was not ideal and I bought this. My hair changed drastically in a week. It's healthier than it's ever been. My curls hold overnight which is just weird and my hair feels full and somehow also light. I highlighted it a few weeks ago. I'm not sure it's the best at canceling brass, but it's worth it. I just ordered the be curly shampoo to use between the toning. Aveda is crazy good stuff for my frazzled thin curls.Misty

I was searching for a new go to shampoo and conditioner, something for my fine but thick, damaged and frizzes easily hair (its humid in the south), as I'm growing it out since I had to do a big chop. I did alot of searching online reading reviews on all products, that was my make or break on finally making a purchase. WTBS I'm super happy with this product and have been using it for over a month before even writing a review. The shampoo is so fragrant, it WOW'd me, it doesn't smell that strong out the bottle, I love it, but if you are sensitive to strong scents you might not like it, but after using over a week or so, you get used to its power and enjoy it alot. Lathers well, my hair feels super clean and soft, mega sleek is exactly what you get with this combination. When blow drying you can still smell the luxurious smell, faintly not over powering but where you know your hair smells SO GOOD! My frizz and fly aways are definitely helped by this product. I normally straighten my hair almost daily, but since my big chop and I'm growing out my natural hair, I want it super healthy and the least amount damaged as possible, so right now no flat iron only blow drying and it looks very good! I haven't had a haircut in over 22 weeks so I can only imagine how it would look straightened with the help of this Mega Sleek. This will be my shampoo and conditioner for a long time. The conditioner is nice and slimey (if you have hair like mine that will tangle horribly and you need a slimey conditioner just to be able to comb it after.. my hair is shoulder length now, but used to be LONG, my hair acts no different with a different length), its very conditioning and works very well!!! I have zero complaints on both these products and do recommend! Only warning is the scent if you are sensitive, you can always try and return, but give it a fair chance. I honestly love this stuff and so glad I found the right product so I can stick with something that makes me and my hair happy. FINALLY!! P.S. I leave my conditioner upside down, so its easier to squeeze it out VS shaking the bottle to get the conditioner to come out since its thick not runny.Jessica

I really love that this product truly makes my fizzy, wavy hair less frizzy and sleek! I come out of the shower with shiny hair and it seems to stay much more tame than with standard shampoos!! I am very happy with this shampoo! This shampoo has little to no scent, so it's great for people who also prefer mild-scented hair products! I usually buy Aveda smooth infusion but they changed the formula/product and reviews aren't great. So I tried this. I am completely surprised at how much I love it! I have mixed feelings about this shampoo and conditioner. Got both in the standard size a couple of months ago. At first, I really liked it, but I didn't love it. It didn't leave my hair as dry as some other shampoos do, and the conditioner made them feel smoother without adding more weight, even while still in a shower. These days, I wash my hair a couple of times a week, so I expected that this stay-at-home regiment would help my strands heal. I have fine curly hair that I used to straighten daily with a dryer and sometimes iron until relatively recently. What happened with this set, however, is that I started having dandruff after about a month. I had never had dandruff in my life before! It also seems that I'm losing more hair than I used to. Despite using a decent amount of conditioner, I can barely brush my wet hair. And if I don't brush when it's still wet, I may not be able to brush it at all. This is despite using the Ghost oil (that I generally like) and Moroccan Oil leave-in conditioner for my ends. I was attributing these issues to the general stress and cold weather but as I read negative reviews, I thought of other brands that I liked at the beginning and then started to like less, and it was the opposite problem: they made my hair greasy after two bottles, but at the beginning, they moisturized and conditioned perfectly. I'll give this product three stars and the benefit of the doubt: maybe it works better on other hair types.madraccoon

This product was so bad, I'm writing my first ever Ulta review. I was truly so excited about this shampoo/conditioner, but i've now been using it for 2-3 weeks and can easily say my hair has never felt worse. I have long dirty blonde straight hair that's fairly thick- this product manages to DRY it out, so badly that even my scalp started getting itchy and flaky (something that hasn't happened to me in years). When i let it air dry, it feels like my hair is hardening into a little shell. I thought maybe I was leaving product in, but now i scrub for so long trying to avoid the helmet head feeling, that it makes the dryness and scalp even worse. On top of all that, because of how drying it is, my hair gets greasy FAST. like within 24 hours. It's tangly, it's greasy, it feels like the sahara, it's truly awful. I set a countdown calendar in my phone for the day I get to go return this product. The ghost oil is great, but save your money and your hair and avoid this like the plagueSydney

When I bought this shampoo I thought it was pretty basic but after trying other shampoos, I realized it's a good thing. A safe choice for people that have little to no hair concerns and just want something to get the job done. There's a light citrus smell that doesn't linger after you leave the shower. Lathers well enough to feel clean but not drying. I don't get this squeaky or straw like feeling I get with other shampoos while washing. There's not too much of a moisture effect that feels like it's being weighed down it also doesn't give me scalp acne. The thing I liked most was how when my hair finished drying, my scalp didn't feel tight, dry, or itchy. It just felt normal. I do have to say that there isn't super significant results when it comes to how your hair looks. It just makes my hair feel lighter and balanced. My hair is complicated. I have what I call a white girl fro and it is not pretty! And this is not to be slanderous in any way whatsoever! My hair literally sticks out like a lions main when I first dry it! So not kidding!!!! And yes I use a brush because if I don't, it's even worse! My hair stylist suggested this product but, I was very hesitant because I have tried so many different products and wasted a lot of money doing so. I'm so glad I tried this! My hair can be fixed to be straight or fixed to be curly. Either way is a lot of work. This product along with a matching shampoo, all from Eleven Australia, my hair has been so much easier to fix and maintain! My hair feels healthier and doesn't feel weighted down at all. With my hair type, whatever you want to call it, frizzes so bad when it's raining or just humid, with just this line of product, the frizz is so much less than ever before. Even if I start to get a little warm, my hair previously would would start frizzing up, especially at the crown. Now it very seldom ever happens, if it gets wet(caught in rain or splashed) there's nothing that will stop that! I recommend this line to everyone I know! I really like this. For me the smell lasts a while and it does a good job of clarifying my scalp. It smells great and it does what it says it’s going to do. My only issue is that it takes a while to rinse out. My hair feels a certain way after rinsing for what I would say is my “normal” rinsing time. I probably rinse an extra 30 seconds to a minute more than usual. But that’s okay with me because I don’t use this daily so to me it’s not a giant issue. But it might be for others. My hair has literally never felt better. My hairstylist said my hair had a lot of product buildup so I researched the best product to remove it and came across this. I NEVER want to use another shampoo again! My bleached hair feels like virgin hair again and feels so clean. I saw a mix of reviews saying that this shampoo sucked all the moisture out of their hair, and I could see where this may be an initial thought in the washing process because it does feel like it’s sucking everything from your hair WHILE washing… BUT the results are amazing. My hair is absolutely obsessed. It is truly in love with this shampoo. I used to use Paul Mitchell tea tree lemon and sage thickening shampoo but now my hair can’t get enough of this stuff! It’s packed with awesome ingredients and is full of great stuff for your hair. I would recommend reading what’s in this stuff and I’m sure you’ll agree! You’ll notice in the reviews that this makes your hair stiff. That is true. This is a clarifying shampoo so that means it’s actually doing it’s job by stripping everything kinda like the life out of it because it’s trying to rid the product build up. All you have to do is go in with a bangin conditioner and you’ll be fine! I usually add all the stuff back in with a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner once this clarifies it all out. When I first used this shampoo I hated how it felt. I thought it made my hair feel limp, almost sticky, and a bit greasy. I decided to keep using it since it didn't irritate my skin (I'm very sensitive and shampoos can cause eczema flares for me) and after 2 weeks of daily use I've noticed an incredible change in the feeling and appearance of my hair. Gone is the weird sticky feeling and now my hair is soft, shiny, bouncy, and healthy. My ends feel hydrated and so soft. I've even noticed less hairfall in the shower and in my brush as well. My scalp — normally irritated and itchy — feels normal and healthy. I think this shampoo is so gentle that if you were using something laden with silicones before it doesn't get the buildup off. I recommend using a clarifying shampoo and then integrating these products into your routine. I use this with the Formula 133 conditioner sold by Kiehl's. Highly recommend them both!Danielle

I am always amazed at the range of Kiehl's products – from daily skin care, to treatments, rich body care, family toiletry products, and hair care as well. I've been a fan of Kiehl's skincare for some time, but had never tried any of the haircare until I was given the Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner. This shampoo contains amino acid and coconut oil to clean the hair gently, as well as wheat proteins and wheat starch which are claimed to add body. It is described as suitable for all hair types and as a mild shampoo, gentle enough to use every day. It is free of silicone and parabens I am instantly attracted to anything coconut, it reminds me of the beach and summertime. So I would probably still like this product even if it didn't live up to it's claims! Fortunately, I am happy to report that it does. My hair, which is straight, quite fine but abundant, and coloured, felt soft and silky afterwards, and still had it's usual body. There was no issue at all with it feeling "weighed down" or limp – and I do know what that feels like, whenever I have my hair coloured. I have fairly dry, coloured hair with a slightly oily scalp, but both scalp and ends felt perfectly clean after using Amino Acid. It might be counter-intuitive to think of coconut oil with an oily scalp, but in this case it works.\n\nThe lather – I have to say it doesn't lather quite as well as my usual shampoo but, with an oily scalp, I naturally double shampoo. The first shampoo to remove any excess oil, the second to really clean the hair. On the second shampoo, with Amino Acid the lather is rich and creamy, exactly as I want, but also easy to rinse out. The coconut scent afterwards is wonderful, it lingers but is not overpowering. There is nothing better than having been at the beach, hot and sticky, and then washing all of that away with a coconut-scented product. It reminds me of those times.\n\nThe packaging is fairly plain, on the face of it – just a plastic bottle, but what I really like about Kiehl's packaging is the trademark cursive writing, and the fact that all the ingredients and directions are right there conveniently on the bottle,not on a leaflet, so you can read them clearly.\n\nThe price is the only drawback – it is very high for a product that will be used as often as a shampoo. I waited awhile to do this review, I wanted to see how my hair responded to using Kiehl's Since 1851 Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner. I have been using it for 5 months now and I am impressed. I have always been "cheap" when it has come to shampoo and conditioner, but I was having a lot of issues with my hair. My volume was flat, my natural waves always seemed limp, and the worst part was that every time I brushed or washed my hair I was pulling out clumps. I switched to Kiehl's and it is like night and day. My natural waves are back, my hair is growing back in areas where my hair was thinning, my hair isn't falling out by the bunches anymore and my hair is soft and has volume again. I also noticed that I have less issues with my hair feeling and looking greasy and I didn't even realize that was an issue prior to the switch. I purchased both shampoo & conditioner. Before I bought Living Proof 3 purchases ago. I have been on a hunt for a shampoo that would go great with my hair. I wanted to switch off from the drug store products like dove because it was breaking my hair so much & my hair just ultimately got thin wether from bleaching my hair or genetics. Either way we all know that the drug store products can strip your hair. On Living proofs website they have this hair test where it can help you figure out what hair products they have will be good for your hair type. My hair is fine, thin, brittle and super straight. I wanted more fullness in my hair & so far my hair does not have a lot of breakage anymore, I have more hair growth. I wash my hair every 2-3 days (yes, that's still a lot to some of you hahaha) but my hair used to get super oily the 1st day before using Living Proof. Now, I can maintain it within those days & within those days although my hair gets slightly oily it still feels/smells clean. I fell in love with their scent by the way. 8/10 recommend because it is pricey but I think it is very much worth.vb1112

I have thinning hair in some major need of a volume boost. This has definitely helped! The whole experience is such a pleasure. Smells incredible! If you’ve tried any other LP products before, you’ll know what I mean. The shampoo had a nice lather without being too weighty. This is the first time I try a shampoo and conditioner duo from living proof. I have very fine, thin hair that tangles easily and usually volumizing products or thickening products make it more tangled instead of just giving me soft, maneageable volumized hair, but this duo actually worked on my hair. It didn't make it look dull and gave a slight lift that wasn't exaggerated. This shampoo lathered really nicely and made my hair feel clean. I can't use shampoo that doesn't lather so I was satisfied with this one, it wasn't too much or too little. The formula is clear and has a soft fruity scent in my opinion.Sarahg2mua

Silver tresses looking kinda brassy or yellow? This product will take the yellow away and leave behind a healthy, shiny, ready to style head of hair. I am sometimes wary of bluing shampoo because some can leave that blue haired lady look but this one no. I leave mine on 10 minutes once every two weeks in place of normal shampoo and wala great gray hair. As a precaution if you have processed or bleached hair do a test first. This can just like other violet and blue based products become trapped in porous areas leaving a not so nice blotchy mess. It comes out but why risk it. Davines is a wonderful haircare company with an array of products to help with just about all hair concerns. Wonderful. One bottle of this should last over a year easily if used correctly. I recently just purchased this shampoo since I didn’t have a toning product for my blonde hair. First off, I really liked how heavy and cute the packaging was. When I opened it, the smell is not unpleasant but not something I would typically gravitate towards to. It’s something you quickly get used to as you use it more and more. The lather was something really luxurious as it instantly made my slightly dry and brassy hair feel a lot softer! By the end of my wash, I noticed a huge difference in the tone of my hair! The only concern I had with this product was the amount of product for the price, since I have insanely thick hair but even then the product has lasted me about a month and a week.ana.o

So far the best Purple Shampoo I've found. I have not used it long but My hair shines and actually feels thicker and softer. It hasn't really taken out all my brassiness yet but maybe after a few more uses it will. I am transitioning from medium brown colored treated hair to my natural white/grey hair that I'm letting grow out. It is very fine so my hairdresser didn't want to bleach it anymore for fear of damaging it more to get the orange and yellow tone out of it. She just highlighted down to blendable with my natural white/grey hair. That is probably why not all the brassiness is coming out with the Purple Shampoo. This is a top of the line Shampoo and I have the Silver Lining Butter Masque too, which I love and recommend everyone to try if you are transiting to white/grey hair like me. Great for people with skin sensitivity. This does not make my skin itch and I noticed that my hair isn't falling out in clumps when I wash my hair. I might lose all of 10 hairs after washing with this. I tend to have oily skin and hair, this may be the difference between people who love this and those who don't. If you have oily hair, this is an excellent choice. Some people have commented that it's harsh on their hair, but that feeling lasts for only a few minutes right after rinsing. I don't use conditioner and this shampoo does NOT feel harsh after I brush out my hair. My hair brushes out super easy with this shampoo, just start with the bottom of your hair and brush your way up and you won't have any problems at all.Janine G

I’m allergic to some plant extracts such as lavender, rosemary. Many fragrance free products use these ingredients as fragrance and/or other purposes. Bought this shampoo because it’s real fragrance free to me. However, it made my armpit length hair tangled. It might be great for short hair. Instead of wasting it, I used it as shower gel. I have very oily roots that are very prone to build up. I usually have to wash my hair about every other day. Lately my scalp has been really itchy for some reason so I’m swapping out my regular shampoo for this one since it’s gentle. It didn’t get rid of the itch on my scalp but it is noticeably improved. This shampoo also got rid of all the weird oily build up that was on my hair and left it feeling really clean. I don’t think this would work for someone with dry hair and you definitely need to follow with conditioner for the length of your hair or it would be super dry. If I wasn’t having an issue with my scalp being weirdly sensitive right now I honestly wouldn’t buy this because I know there are products out there that are probably much better for your hair but for my current situation this shampoo is doing the jobe

Had nice comments on how my hair shines and how clean and bright the white in in my two toned white and dark grey hair. (More white than grey) They both smell lovely and easy to use, although you need second shampoo to get a nice lather. I always love ion products for coloring and toning my hair after bleaching, and this aftercare shampoo and conditioner line proved to be the same.. almost. The shampoo I found worked very well to keep my color bright and non brassy, but it left my hair so dry, even with the conditioner after. I started to mix some of the shampoo in with my Loreal Dream Lengths shampoo and it helped a lot. The conditioner is great for my hair all over, non greasy, conditions well, smells great. But because I'm working on healing my hair in certain areas I ended up using the Ion conditioner on my roots, top of my head to about midway down, where I would add the Loreal Dream Lengths conditioner, which as I state in my review of that Loreal conditioner, it leaves my roots and upper head hair greasy but perfectly midway down to my roots, so it's actually a perfect mix for me. I would use the Ion conditioner all over with not one issue, and sometimes do, but am still working to repair my ends. Overall great product line from Ion. I use Arctic fox hair color to keep my hair. A vibrant mixture of purple and red. Red is a notoriously difficult color to keep in your hair because of its molecular size compared to other colors. It doesn't lock into the cuticle as quickly and this product helps with that. I not only use it right after coloring my hair, I also use it beyond that. Rather than washing my hair every single day which would strip the color right out of it, I rinse my hair and then condition it with this product. This allows me to keep my hair looking good until the roots grow in and I have to take care of that. Keeps my color from fading quickly.Kimberly G.

nothing spectacular. gets the job done and leaves hair squeaky clean. I appreciate that this shampoo does not contain silicone and I like that it has sulfate so that all of the silicone from my products can get washed off. I alternate between this and the mixed chicks co-wash, so I only use this every two weeks for a very thorough wash. I like the scent too, it's very mild but pleasant. It's like pressing the reset button for those of us who use many different products on our curly hair all the time.Veronica

Was a bit too harsh even for my oily scalp. Dried out not only my scalp which then felt itchy throughout the day, but it also dried the ends of my hair. My hair felt/was really brittle and frizzy. It also has a very strong soapy smell (reminded me of a cleaning solution smell tbh) I did not like that at all. If you have sensitive skin and are sensitive to fragrances, I would not suggest this shampoo.Les

I have 2A/2B wavy, medium porosity, thick shoulder length hair. I have been looking for a shampoo that both makes my hair feel clean after a hospital shift, and keeps my waves fluffy and smooth. This shampoo checks all the boxes and more. It smells clean and the smell lasts out of the shower. It does get foamy, which I like, but I do have to use a good amount for both my upper and lower layers. But for this price, I don't mind using a lot of product at once. Make sure to use your fingers to scrub this into your scalp, for the best effect. I wouldn't use this alone, as I can feel it leaves my hair tangled, after it has washed out. Definitely use this with their Leave-In Conditioner, for the best results (I use it as a regular wash-out conditioner as well). I use these two products with their Morning After Foam as well, and get lots of compliments on my big wavy hair 🙂Sophia

My husband bought this shampoo for me, my hair was falling out A LOT and it looked really unhealthy. My hair has always looked extremely healthy, but as I have gotten older and had some health issues, my hair became brittle and dull. First off I thought this was like a thick lotion or cream and no, it is not.. so you’re gonna have to buy a squirt bottle or a mister of some type to go along with this product.  when you shake the bottle it sounds like water but giiiiirl it is not! I've used this product several times since my purchase and I've found it to be a terrific product! I typically use it before applying Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment. Also, I use it for routine cleansing of my hair. It yields a soft and healthy texture. Since using these products, I've also been using the complete line of Aphogee Keratin Products. I like this leave in conditioner it has a water like consistency. It has almost a fruity pineapple scent. It doesnt moisturize my hair but It is also an additional heat protection so it makes my life easier to not constantly try to buy a seperate heat protectant for styling. It doesnt do much hydration at all but it does the job for a tiny extra bit of moisture. If youre someone that has low perosity hair i don’t recommend as it doesnt have much hydration properties at all but maybe for someone who has an oily scalp and want a more lightweight product this may be the one for you. Overall I recommend this because it is a two in one as the heat protectant is a plus to the product.monica.a

I’ve been around the block when it comes to purple shampoos and this is one of the best ones I have tried, if not the best. I think one of the most annoying things about purple shampoos is how drying they can be on the hair but after using this my hair actually felt more hydrated. The toning on my hair was pretty significant as well, even without having my hair done in 4 months. When using purple shampoo I like to let it sit on my hair for a few minutes in the shower before rinsing off. I’ll admit I didn’t have high hopes for this but after using it it will definitely be a new staple in my routine! If you’re on the fence about trying this because you feel like you’ve tried all the purple shampoos on the market like I have, just try this one- trust me you won’t regret it!brittbabee

I received this product for free from Pinch Me for my honest review. I absolutely love the Verb Purple Shampoo. It definitely lives up to its claim of Cleanse, Tone & Brighten. My highlighted hair has grown out quite a bit. I need to get my roots down. This shampoo really did brighten & tone my blonde & Grey hair. I was shocked because my hair has grown out so much. Once I lathered, my hair felt sneaky clean when I rinsed. Not gonna lie, I was a little worried it had dried out my hair but not at all dry. My hair was brighter, full, & manageable. I received Verb Purple Shampoo as a sample from PinchMe and I can honestly say that this is hands down probably my favorite sample I've received this far. I ALWAYS wash my hair once a week, but at times twice a week and condition it every day. However, since using Verb Purple Shampoo I have only been washing once a week and the biggest shocker is I haven't had to condition my hair at all. Which is a HUGE shock to me because I have long, thick and curly hair that requires some attention and upkeep. I honestly don't know if the product works because I had to re-condition my hair with another product to try to get the awful smell out of my hair. The fragrance smells like old man/ dead animal. It was not designed for a woman who is the main user of this product. Maybe a few men might like the old man / dead animal smell, but it is not marketed for men. I've been bleaching my hairs for years and have tried countless brands of purple shampoo. I've been told by my hairdresser that sulfates strip toner and to avoid shampoos with that ingredient. I noticed this shampoo had sulfates but I went ahead and tried it anyway because of all the good reviews. I've used it 3 times since my last bleach and tone, and my hair is A LOT more yellow than my appointment. I noticed after the first wash that my hair looked a little worse but I decided to try to keep using it and my toner literally vanished before my eyes. I definitely recommend a shampoo without sulfates (Joico is one example). This shampoo also dries out your hair causing it to build up grease not even 24 hours after showering. I read so many reviews, watched so many videos, even asked my hair stylist about this shampoo before buying it. Sad to say this didn't work for me. Made my hair nice when applied, thought everything was great. Beautiful lather….. then I wash it out. My hair felt so gummy it literally scared me. The product didn't really do anything for my hair. Will be returning. I have used the "Total Results So Silver Triple Power Hair Mask". It works great didn't dry my hair out at all. I try to stay away from Parabens, Silicones & Sulfates. It does contain amodimethicone. But I prefer the mask over shampoo for my blonde hair.Nani

I tried the 1 Hit wonder, Wave hello, and intensive care. I followed the instructions and even did further research on YouTube to obtain the best results. But I overall didn’t like the product enough to order again. The shampoo was difficult to apply and the pump it came with was not user friendly. The best leave in conditioner for curly hair on the market that contains protein. It's perfect for wash day and perfect for refreshing my 3c curls and my daughters also. We can use this with gel on wash day then use it ALONE with water to refresh for the rest of the week. And it holds. It has a really good hold ability and it is not crispy.
